Ein wunderschöner Abend im Mai im netten Ambiente. Eisenbahnromantik pur und leckeres Essen. Danke!!

Wir waren anlässlich unseres Hochzeitstag hier essen. Die Preise sind wirklich sehr hoch (Zwiebelrostbraten OHNE Beilage 28€). Beilage kostet extra. In unserem Fall die Pommes 6,80€ Leider kam das Steak OHNE Pommes. Auf Nachfrage kam nur „kleinen Augenblick“. Die Pommes haben wir dann abbestellt, da ich das Steak mittlerweile gegessen hatte. Beim bezahlen wurden diese jedoch berechnet… Am Ende kam noch die Restaurantleitung mit einer Flasche Sekt als Entschädigung. Das war sehr nett. Aufgrund der extrem hohen Preise werden wir dennoch nicht mehr kommen. Preis-Leistung ist hier leider nicht gegeben. Schade

Wir haben hier sehr lecker gegessen, die Speisen waren von guter Qualität, der Service war sehr freundlich!

Schöner Biergarten direkt am Bahnhof, gutes Essen, preislich gerade noch in Ordnung, guter Service. Innen geschmackvoll modern eingerichtet. Biergarten leider erst ab 17:30 Uhr, etwas spät im Sommer meines Erachtens nach. Gerne mal ein regionales Fassbier anbieten statt Massenbier (Warsteiner). Ich komme gerne wieder wenn ich mal wieder dienstlich in Neckarsulm bin.

Ambiente sehr schön. Service war in Ordnung, der Kellner wirkte aber etwas genervt. Essen war oke, aber für die Preise hätten wir deutlich mehr erwartet. Eine "Empfehlung" für 14€ stellte sich als kleiner Beilagenteller heraus. Könnte man evtl. dazu schreiben, dass es sich nicht um ein Hauptgericht handelt.

Fleisch war leider versalzen, dafür waren die Nudeln sehr nüchtern

Die Einrichtung ist modern im Fabrikstyle. Daher ist es leider ziemlich laut, gerade wenn mehrere größere Tische belegt sind. Unterhalten wird zur Herausforderung. Das ist schade, da es ansonsten richtig cool ist. Vielleicht lässt sich die Akkustik ja verbessern.

Schönes Ambiente, aufmerksamer Service und sehr schmackhafte Speisen. Kommen gerne wieder.

Update 2026: leider nicht mehr so gut, wie gewohnt. Tischwunsch (via opentabel) wurde nicht berücksichtigt. Essensportion war zu klein. Service leider nur mittelmäßig. Wir müssen uns nun leider ein neues "Premium"-Restaurant suchen. Schade. 2021: Wiedermal sehr gut gegessen. Geniales Ambiente, sehr angenehme Hintergrundmusik und perfekt abestimmte Gerichte. Da zahle ich gerne ein paar Euro mehr.

Leider nicht so gut wie gewohnt. Auf Tischwunsch wurde nicht eingegangen. Essensportion zu klein. Service laienhaft und nicht angemessen für den Preis.

Ich war schon so oft hier. Jedes mal leckeres Essen und was noch wichtiger ist, toller Service,einfach nur tolles Personal.

Das Restaurant überzeugt mit einem sehr schönen, angenehmen Ambiente. Der Service war durchweg freundlich, aufmerksam und professionell. Alle bestellten Gerichte haben uns ausgezeichnet geschmeckt und waren qualitativ sehr hochwertig. Wir haben uns rundum wohlgefühlt und kommen sehr gerne wieder!

Die Bewertung soll der konstruktiven Kritik dienen und nicht dem an sich guten Betrieb schaden - ich würde hier jedenfalls wieder nächtigen, möchte hier aber ein paar Punkte zum Restaurant hinterlassen. Wir waren im Zuge des Aufenthalts Abendessen (2x) - beim ersten mal war es in Ordnung; beim zweiten mal eher eine Frechheit: Suppe ohne bestellter Einlage (Rinderkraftsuppe) mit wenig Geschmack und Schnittlauch im Ganzen 9.60 Euro - wurde dann entsorgt (sonst hätte man sie bezahlen müssen); Gemüsecurry 15.60 Euro war eine Suppe mit 3-4 Gemüse-Teilen (nicht identifizierbar), geschmacklich ok, hat aber nix mit einem Gemüsecurry zu tun.. der Kellner hatte uns zumindest die Getränke gutgeschrieben und sich (dann) auch entschuldigt. Atmosphäre toll, gute Bierauswahl, preislich an sich okay aber die Qualität bzw Zubereitung eben leider nicht konsistent.

Heute von der Saisonkarte 200g Kalbssteak mit Morchelrahm, tagliatelle und Broccoli Leider war das Steak nur mini 120g die Tagliatelle sehr aldente - die 30g Broccoli 🥦 total versalzen. Die Morcheln waren irgendwelche anderen Pilze 🍄‍🟫 Das Feedback wurde aufgenommen - sonst nichts ... zum Preis von 29.80 € absolut nicht gerechtfertigt! Keine Entschuldigung 🤷🏼‍♂️ nichts ...

Wir waren Anfang November wieder einmal in der alten Post. Wir waren sehr enttäuscht über die Qualität und insbesondere die Quantität des Essens. Ich hatte "MEDAILLONS VOM SCHWEIN an Waldpilzrahm und Mandel-Brokkoli" bestellt und als Beilage Pommes. Man erhält einen grossen Teller, die Filets haben sich etwas einsam gefühlt, die Sauce wurde in einem Töpfchen hinzugestellt und der wurde garniert mit ein paar Brokkoliröschen für 28,70 Euro. Das war bei unserem letzten Besuch um Welten besser und anspruchsvoller angerichtet. Anscheinend hat es einen kompletten Wechsel des Personals gegeben. Meine Frau hatte die "WALDPILZE À LA CRÈME" bestellt und den Knödel musst man suchen. Es hat gut geschmeckt, aber das geht wesentlich besser zumal es schon so war.

Das Essen hat uns leider überhaupt nicht überzeugen können. Die Käsespätzle waren fade und die gefüllten Steinpilze schwammen in einer Soße. Nicht weiterzuempfehlen!

Der Zwiebelrostbraten kam bei fast 30€ mit einer halben trockenen Maultasche, die dazubestellten Maultaschen erst 5Min später. Der Salat zu den Käsespätzle kam 10Min nach den Hauptgang. Die für den Fisch bestellte Zitrone garnicht. Sehr lange Wartezeit. Man ruft stolze Preise ab. Ob die Leistung entsprechend ist, lässt sich der Beschreibung oben entnehmen.

Very friendly service, the food was fresh and delicious. They catered very well to our small children. We felt very comfortable, thank you!

Our server was (hopefully) new, the wrong drinks etc. were served/forgotten twice out of three orders, the starter (salmon) was an outrage, after we complained the other tables who had ordered the same thing were served a dish that looked completely different, my roast beef was mini (I estimate 150-160g) with half a Maultasche (€29) as a side dish and to charge an additional €7 for the spaetzle that weren't homemade is extortionate! And it continued like that, my wife's ravioli (also not homemade, around €28) tasted of nothing, the potato salad with the schnitzel was almost too hot to eat, the loupe de mer was too salty and the tagliatelle was sticky, all in all I thought we were on Candid Camera 🫣 dessert at McDonald's was the culinary highlight of the evening! What a shame, with a bill of €120 for two people, never again!!

I’m gluten free and have a shellfish allergy. Excellent service. I even had a sauce which something that rarely happens gluten free. Could recommend

Food is great and there is a lot of variety for vegetarians too

Wechselnde Monatskarte, Tischreservierung wäre besser. Eine hervorragende und große Auswahl an Gin.

The interior features a very pleasant and upscale ambiance, with excellent service and high-quality food. The prices are absolutely fair for the ambiance and quality, but definitely not a cheap restaurant. There's a short wait, and we're asked several times if everything is okay.

Mega tolles Restaurant! Super Ambiente, leckere Weine, Essen vom Feinsten. Servicepersonal sehr freundlich! Wir kommen definitiv wieder!

Four of us were at an event at the hotel. After dinner, we wanted to have a drink together. The first round of drinks took 45 minutes to serve and was incomplete because ingredients were missing. Reordering was only possible by getting up personally, as our table was no longer being served. After another 45 minutes, the missing drink arrived upon request. In total, it took 1.5 hours for four drinks, or a wait for one. There were fewer than 30 guests and three service members. Unfortunately, not a word of apology or any kind of compromise. There were also errors on the bill because they were supposed to "not cancel so many things." The hotel was also unwilling to accommodate us upon departure and payment. They "want to sort it out" and things will be better next time. Let's hope so for other guests. A shame for the end of an otherwise lovely day.

The food and drinks took forever. When the steak finally arrived, it was cooked medium-rare, but it was simply tough. The appetizers were also not served as ordered. What was supposed to be a quick dinner turned into an unintended evening.

From the outside, the restaurant looks good. Unfortunately, it was closed on Sunday, May 22, 2025.

The taste was excellent, but the portions were too small and the prices were too high. The ambiance was excellent; the service was once very attentive and once off the mark. Due to the inappropriate portions and prices, I will no longer hold my business lunches there.

Unfortunately that was nothing... After a long wait despite the empty restaurant, the (very good) Rostraten arrived without spaetzle. The burger patties were dry and fried to death. The osso buco was sometimes very hard, sometimes so fatty that half of it was reduced. The clear complaint was not addressed. Full price charged, no compensation whatsoever. 28€ literally dumped in the bin.

Good food and good service in a nice place… not Michelin-starred, but it could be a good choice for a casual dinner. They also have an interesting Gin selection.

The two of us had dinner yesterday. Had a reservation and got a small table for two next to the bar. As a starter we ordered a salad for €13.50. This was very small and never worth the money. The taste was ok. I then had the burger where unfortunately the meat was burnt and my friend had the noodles with shrimp. The shrimp were inedible. Didn't taste fresh anymore. We were not offered a dessert menu. Wouldn't recommend this restaurant, it's not worth the money

The “Alte Post” restaurant in Neckarsulm impresses with its beautiful ambience and friendly service. The menu is well put together and the dishes were fresh and attractively served. In terms of taste, the food was of a high standard - the meat in particular was very tender and well seasoned. However, I have to say that the prices are a bit too high for the service offered. A good meal can have its price, but here I was missing that certain extra that justifies the price. Overall it was a pleasant visit, but with room for improvement in terms of value for money. Therefore 4 stars from me.

The beef soup was delicious, but despite the long wait, it was unfortunately only warm. The baguette served with it was bone dry.

The ambience is very nice. Unfortunately, the price/performance ratio is not right here at all. The prices of the main courses are already very high. In addition, however, there are the completely exorbitant prices for the side dishes. Fries cost 7.50 euros. The portions are a bad joke. The salads are also ridiculously tiny and sometimes cost up to 20 euros. A tiny bread basket for several people at such a high price. The service was also a bit disappointing for us. We constantly had to call service ourselves so that something was happening. The empty plates with leftover food stood on the table for over 20 minutes before someone took pity on clearing them away. Prices are not surprising around Audi and Schwarz. For the average earner, however, it is completely overpriced for what it ultimately is. The quality of our food was very mixed and sometimes very different for the same dishes.

I can't understand the bad reviews. The service staff are attentive, friendly and prompt. The food (pork fillet skewer with spaetzle as a desired side dish) arrived after a reasonable waiting time, which for me is a sign of fresh preparation. The portion was unexpectedly large (3 medallions!), considering the current food prices. Taste at its finest! The ambience with the subtle and pleasant background music as well as the view of the fireplace - albeit on a TV - are quite decelerating. If I stay in the adjacent hotel again, I will definitely come back again... Recommended!

Disappointing value for money and unprofessional service I was a guest recently and unfortunately I have to say that the price-performance ratio is absolutely not justified. The dishes tasted as if they had been made from frozen food, which is completely unreasonable given the high prices. I also noticed that the service staff was more concerned with flirting than with professional service. Two of the service staff, both in suits, seemed more interested in each other than in the guests, which seemed very unprofessional and disrupted the atmosphere. For the prices you would expect a significantly higher quality of food and service that puts the guests at the center. Unfortunately, both expectations were not met.

Disastrous restaurant experience: Reserved at 7:00 p.m., table not available, ordered food at 7:20 p.m., it was served at 8:45 p.m. Despite asking, there wasn't even bread. The food we ordered was medium, burgers were good, salads were subpar. Salad toppings salmon, turkey breast fillet etc. were few (especially salmon on the salad). A bread basket with 6 pieces of bread for 3 people. This restaurant is not suitable for business meals at all and with large groups of 8 people you will be overwhelmed.

The food was very tasty, the service was friendly and the restaurant is modern and beautifully designed

AMAZING unplanned date night:) We arrived late and hungry on a Sunday evening at the hotel. This was our best option for dinner at it surely didn’t disappoint! Great food, lovely atmosphere and professional service! I would come again any time, it’s a really good restaurant!

Yesterday we visited the Alte Post in Neckarsulm. The ambience is really great – very nicely decorated and cozy. Unfortunately only two tables were occupied, which is probably due to the high prices. The price-performance ratio is not right here. The food was good, but the prices were way too high. The service was friendly, but the quality of the service still has room for improvement. Overall our visit was okay, but we would recommend lowering the prices and training the staff better. Then this great restaurant will certainly be more crowded soon!

We celebrated a birthday in the restaurant, the food was very tasty and the atmosphere was pleasant and friendly. The service is always professional and courteous. We always enjoy coming here.

Not exactly cheap, but very appealing

Overall impression of the restaurant was good, steak was perfect, the baked potato was firm, In the end I was very annoyed because a day later we all discovered that the invoices had not been issued correctly and that we had simply been charged for things that we had not ordered. In addition, tips were recorded and billed in an extra item on the bill.

We were recently traveling nearby on business and saw this little restaurant at the hotel. The food is very good. The service(s) are super friendly and accommodating. With the small outdoor area, it's nice to be outside even in summer.

We must have chosen the wrong restaurant. Very high standard, the service was very friendly. Many of our motorcycle group only ate soup. The smallest “dish” was a burger for €25. Many people lost their appetite.

Very bad price-performance ratio. Small portions of very average quality. Fast food level. We ordered a Caesar salad for €19. Three mini pieces of turkey meat, when we asked they wanted to offer us another piece for just €3 extra. Completely absurd. The good reviews are completely incomprehensible.

Unusual food at overpriced prices. Had to wait forever for the dishes. I don't understand the many good reviews.

Yesterday we ate at the old post office for the fourth time and, as always, it was very good. In the spring and summer we always managed to get a seat on the fully occupied terrace and yesterday we sat in the restaurant. Great ambience and attentive conditions. Very good wines from the local region. All in all it was another culinary experience. P.s. Unfortunately, Christmas decorations are very minimalistic. Luckily it has nothing to do with the rating, it's just my personal opinion. 🌲

Es wurde zwar gleich nach dem Essen gefragt ob wir einen espresso oder Cappuccino möchten ,nach längerer Zeit waren unsere Weingläser und andere Getränke leer, es wurde nicht mehr gefragt ob wir noch etwas Trinken möchten.

Das Essen war genauso hervorragend, wie der Service. Große Getränkeauswahl und tolles Ambiente. Die Burger sind sehr zu empfehlen, geschmacklich als auch von der Portionsgröße. Lediglich der Preis für die Beilagen ist vergleichsweise etwas teuerer.

Der Kandidat erreicht die volle Punktzahl! Wir haben gestern Abend in der alten Post wunderbares Essen genossen. Die Gerichte waren allesamt frisch und auf den Punkt zubereitet, das Gemüse knackig, das Fleisch zart. Alles, von den Salaten über die Hauptgerichte bis zum hausgemachten Eistee - perfekt. Der Service war sehr aufmerksam und äußerst freundlich. Unser kleiner Mann wurde gleich mit Buntstiften und einer Kinderkarte versorgt. Die Getränkeauswahl ist auch der Hammer. Wir können einen Besuch nur empfehlen.

Alles super. Hatten sogar den Tisch extra mit Tischdecke eingedeckt für meinen Geburtstag.
