We felt sooooo comfortable, the food was excellent and fresh, the service was unbeatable, and the ambiance in the old fire station was so wonderful that we actually stayed there for four hours. Thank you very much and see you soon.

The cooking is ok but I don't like to have to pay for someone else food an d drinking. A grillteller and a beer cost me about 45 euro. I have also looked at the reciept afterwards and nothing on it are our dinner. I have mailing and calling ('send us a mail' they say ) the restaurant about this but they don´t care. They refuse to answer my mails.

I think the restaurant is absolutely perfect; nothing bothered me, be it the service or the space (especially the terrace). As the name suggests, this building used to be a fire station, much of which is still preserved and adds to the great atmosphere. There is a relatively small menu but the chef has mastered his cooking skills. The fried fish from Steinbeisser and the schnitzel were both freshly breaded, crispy and perfectly cooked. The side dishes were also excellent, the portion size and value for money were justified and the three types of dessert were also very good and recommended. If you are traveling in Lübeck with a dog, this restaurant is highly recommended; the dog is greeted like a regular guest, with a blanket, water bowl and treats.

We were in the "Old Fire Station" today with our children (3 and 5 years old) and I have actually never experienced such a generally hospitable and especially child-friendly shop! The service was great, was very accommodating to us and took great care of the children. The boss cares about his guests and is genuinely interested in them. The food was delicious (especially the potato dippers!!) and so beautifully presented. Overall, from the ambience to the food to the service, it was an absolute stroke of luck. Something absolutely special. It's a shame that we are so rarely in Lübeck. We will definitely come back next time.

We were visiting Lübeck today and relatively spontaneously reserved a table in the old fire station. Rarely have I been greeted so warmly and charmingly as soon as I walked in. Our waitress was on the ball, funny and looked after us completely. The owner/chef is a brand and has a lot of chops. The food he conjured up for us (one person doesn't eat gluten) was prepared with love and very tasty. I was then allowed into the kitchen and got spices for my next potato soup mixed in a jar. I haven't been to such an authentic, friendly restaurant in a long time. #KartoffelSoupAufDieEins

Today we ate at the Old Fire Station and the first thing we had was the feeling of being in a train station. Very loud! You could eat the schnitzel, the fish 🐟 was raw inside. After I reported this to the waitress, she took it away with the words, "This can't happen," and after a while she brought me a completely new plate on which the new fish 🐟 was just as raw as on the plate she had removed. She took the second plate back again with the same words. There was no apology that expressed regret for the renewed breakdown. But I had lost my appetite by now. The requested bill came and it actually only had the schnitzel and the drinks on it.🤷🏼‍♂️🤷🏼‍♂️ It's more of a pub than a restaurant. But done for me/us 🤷🏼‍♂️🤷🏼‍♂️ Normally the chef comes personally and apologizes to the guests. But unfortunately none 👎👎👎👎👎Pub 🤦

The food was amazing!!!!!!! But unfortunately everything else wasn't right for me. The waitress's thoughts were completely elsewhere. I have nothing against dogs of all sizes... but I don't think it's good if they go to all the tables and run freely through the restaurant. And best of all, get the yapping. Very unfortunate...

The food is simply top class, I come to Hamburg every time just for the food and have never been disappointed. The restaurant also has a very pleasant atmosphere. Everyone who is in Lübeck must know this restaurant!

We have been to the old fire station several times. And we were extremely satisfied every time! “The Bergers” are a friendly, cheerful, attentive restaurateur couple with their hearts in the right place. Everything isn't so rigid there and Mr. Berger has his sayings that we really liked. The entire staff is also praised. Across the board everyone was very friendly, humorous, in a good mood and quick to serve! We had particularly fun at our two class reunions in September and November 2024, each with over 20 people. Despite the large number of guests, everything went very smoothly. The many different dishes came to our tables without having to wait long. We constantly asked whether we wanted any more drinks, which were then brought to us quickly and in a good mood. The food is prepared in a special and beautiful way, and the many different delicacies that I have eaten there were absolutely delicious. Simply delicious!! The ambience in the older walls - former fire department - is also very nice. So completely different than in the usual restaurants. Outdoor seating is also available. There are also nice people sitting at the counter. You feel like in old times. Conclusion: All 45 guests (from the class reunion) and I were very satisfied! I can recommend you to take a look there and enjoy everything! 😊👍

Wir sind zufällig dort gewesen und wurden sehr überrascht mit dem sehr aufmerksamen top Personal und dem hervorragenden „Pannfisch“ absolut zu empfehlen. Das Gericht kann sich durchaus messen mit dem „Pannfisch“ der Schiffergesellschaft! Natürlich ist das Ambiente in der Fischergesellschaft sehr historisch und hat seine berechtigte Geschichte..aber wir kommen sehr gerne wieder in die alte Feuerwache! Liebe Grüße aus Köln!

Hello folks, On September 28th, 2024, a table for 9 people was reserved four weeks in advance. A birthday should be celebrated with visitors from Hanover and Hamburg. And now imagine that the small group was turned away at the entrance by the tenant because there was a closed society!! A schnitzel house was recommended?! The disappointment was huge and will remain in the conversation for a long time, which is understandable. For this reason, the restaurant cannot be recommended! 😱😡 So far, this regular guest has held all the celebrations in the fire station since it opened, so it's even more annoying that they didn't ask for the phone number when making the reservation?! Or has a customer file been created? This is part of regular customer care these days and would show professional behavior, which was not the case here. Not recommended and sorry, therefore only 1 star. This bad behavior is alien to us and then to assume and the impudence, we'll come back again?! The owner could have offered us the aperitif on the terrace on Saturday, not on the next visit! The fault was clearly not the guest's fault. This opportunity has been missed - and with it, more evenings with you! Upgrade: 11/11/24, Mr. Ehlend, pensioner, 68 years old, business economist, captain of the Grand Patent of Shipping, was massively coerced by the tenant Mr. Berger, why did he give such an assessment? This happened by chance when Mr. Ehlend was on his way past his terrace. Further into the verbal battle between the two people, Mr. Ehlend felt massively threatened because Mr. Berger approached him threateningly and was even held back by a third person!! Guys, where did we end up here? Mr. Elend, volunteer member of the Seemansmission, the Lübeck port captain TRV, the assistant to the chairman of the supervisory board of the Funke Medien Group and the head of the IT department at Wapko. Of course, including his wives, all retired teachers. Furthermore, a dear person from this circle, who came especially for this visit to say goodbye together, has died. Ultimately, such reservations are unimportant to you because a larger company has offered to rent their rooms. In this case the short-term business! For you it was just figures in anoraks, but for these guests from Hamburg, Hanover and Travemünde it was a shock to the heart and humiliation. There are occasions that cannot be postponed until next time. It should be a final, lasting meeting and farewell in their rooms and not suddenly somewhere else. No, Mr. Berger, your kitchen / can make guests happy, which probably corresponded to your concept. Unfortunately, there are only 3 stars in terms of personnel management/training, service and, above all, professionalism. Reason: Despite repeated assurances, there is smoking in your restaurant, which you discovered when you made your reservation at 3 p.m. in the dining room. 2. In my opinion, dogs have no place behind the counter because that is where the food is served🙏 Hygiene regulations. Your leadership and the way you deal with your guests are sometimes very negative and emotional. From our point of view, there are definitely brickworks, night owls, caught fish, etc., all other alternatives and opportunities to enjoy good food and historical spaces. Sorry for this review, but if the operator lets himself go like that and treats a pensioner like that, these words are necessary. And: what is also noticeable is that reviews often appear that praise the staff, the owner, etc. without pictures. Presumably written by your own staff or something similar? Never, but never before, have I experienced such attentive staff. I casually mentioned when reserving a table and asked whether a dog was allowed in the restaurant. When we were brought to our reserved table, a warm blanket, water and treats were already waiting for our Lisa. Gladly more than 5 stars for that. The food is prepared fresh and without frozen food and therefore takes some time. Our food was very tasty and beautifully prepared. Unfortunately the game was a bit harsh, but that's a matter of taste. The dessert selection is very interesting, but would actually do without spray cream. In terms of price, it is more justified than in TK restaurants. We'll be back, very happy.

Bereits beim herein kommen wird man schon freundlich empfangen und zum Tisch begleitet. Zwar ist die Auswahl klein, aber dafür schöne angerichtete Gerichte, die dazu total lecker schmecken. Während meines Urlaubes war ich dort oft essen, besonders der Rote Alster hatte es mir angetan. Der Besitzer wie auch das Personal kümmern sich sehr um ihre Gäste. Auch die Ambiente passt zum Restaurant. Kurz um...kann ich nur empfehlen...

In diesem, typisch norddeutsch zum Teil mit Backsteinen ausgekleideten Haus, welches sich unweit des Bahnhofs in der Hansestraße befindet, residierte in grauer Vorzeit tatsächlich die Polizei- und Feuerwache für den Lübecker Stadtteil St. Lorenz. In der Gegenwart beherbergt dieses Denkmalgeschütze Gebäude aus dem Jahre 1902 jedoch nun schon in zweiter "Generation" einen gastronomischen Betrieb. Während sich die Vorbesitzer noch selbstbewusst als "Feuerwerk" bezeichneten, beleben die aktuellen Besitzer nach langem Leerstand die Räumlichkeiten wieder und besannen sich ganz auf die erwähnte Historie mit der Wahl des Namens "Alte Feuerwache". Die bodenständige, deutsche Küche mit ein paar internationalen Einschüben scheint dabei sehr gut im Stadtteil anzukommen, denn bereits seit 2020 hält sich das Restaurant, unbeeindruckt von der denkbar schlechten Zeiten für die Gastronomie anno dazumal. Grund genug, dass auch ich bei meiner Suche nach immer neuen Restaurants zum ausprobieren nun einmal selber hier halt gemacht habe. Dort, wo früher also hinter großen Rolltoren die Feuerwehrwagen hausten, sorgen ebenso große, passend in rot gehaltene Fensterfronten für einen freien Blick und gleichzeitig auch angenehme, natürliche Ausleuchtung des Lokals. Auch äußerlich fällt das Gebäude durch diese roten Fenster in Kombination mit der Backsteinverkleidung im Erdgeschoss und dem gelben Anstrich der oberen Stockwerke definitiv auf. Der große ehemalige Einfahrtsbereich gewährt heutzutage natürlich die Möglichkeit eines Sitzbereiches unter freiem Himmel, der hier durch einen gepflegte Hecke vom übrigen Gehweg in einer schönen Art und Weise abgegrenzt ist. Im Innenbereich ist wird vor allem weiße Wand- und Deckenfarbe mit ebenso hellen Holztönen der Tische und dem Schwarz der Leder-bezogenen Stühle kombiniert. Was sich sicherlich nicht ändern ließ, ist der geflieste Boden, der natürlich leider sehr kühl und steril wirkt. Dazu tragen auch die blanken Metallrohre der Lüftung an der Decke bei.  Bei der weiteren Gestaltung des Innenbereiches hat man sich aber bemüht, diesem weiten Raum wieder mehr Leben einzuhauchen. So sorgen einzelne, hüfthohe Trennwände zur Gliederung des Gastbereiches gleich nach dem Eingang, in dem sich auch eine lange Bar befindet, für etwas Privatsphäre und weniger Hallencharakter. Durch eine Zwischenfensterwand, die, genau wie der Außeneingang, in passendem Rot gehalten ist, ergibt sich noch ein weiterer kleiner Bereich am hinteren Ende des Restaurants. Hier hat man auch die Tapete noch einmal im unteren Bereich mit dem Feuerwehrrot versehen und so diesen Faden schön aufgenommen. Auf den Trennwänden im großen Raum füllen ein paar Pflanzen, sowie z.B. Feuerwehrhelme und weiteres ehemaliges Feuerwehr-Equipment als Accessoires die Leere auf. Die Wände hat man zudem mit ein paar Bildern versehen, die jedoch keinen Bezug zur Feuerwehr besitzen. Für die Beleuchtung sind gut verteilte Decken- und Wandspots verantwortlich Am Zustand, der Sauberkeit und auch dem Komfort auf den gepolsterten Lederstühlen lässt sich nichts aussetzen. Sicherlich gibt es gemütlichere Restaurant-Atmosphären, wie z.B. den vorwiegend mit dunklem Holz ausgekleideten historischen Räumlichkeiten der Kaufmanns- und Patrizierhäuser der Innenstadt. Doch hier sollte man für die "Alte Feuerwache" ebenso die Historie nicht vernachlässigen, die doch so eine gewissen Sterilität in einer Feuerwache vorgibt. Angesichts dessen hat man bei der gastronomischen Innengestaltung so für mich doch noch eine gute Wahl getroffen. Am frühen Abend meines Besuches wurde ich zunächst vom Inhaber sehr offenherzig begrüßt, der sich die gesamte Zeit dann um die Bar kümmerte und auch servierte. Gerne erhielt ich noch einen Platz im noch kaum gefüllten Gastraum, an dem ich dann von einer jungen Servicedame mit ebenfalls natürlicher Freundlichkeit bedient wurde. Ein witziges Detail war dabei ihr zum Hause passender „Bedienschurz“, der aus einer Feuerwehrhose bestand. Bis zum Abschied überzeugte das Personal mit Aufmerksamkeit und erwähnter Herzlichkeit. Die Speisekarte spricht hier eine klare, gutbürgerliche Sprache. Jedoch fällt dabei gleich zu Beginn positiv auf, dass man sich auf eine erfreulich reduzierte Anzahl an Speisen beschränkt, die dann aber auch klar voneinander abzutrennen sind und sich nicht, wie man das bei überbordenden Angeboten häufig sieht, nur in bestimmten Beigaben unterscheiden. So finden sich auf der dauerhaften Karte neben 3 Desserts jeweils 4 Auswahlmöglichkeiten für Vorspeisen, Fleisch- und Fisch-Hauptgerichten, denen auch je eine Seite der Speisekarte gewidmet wird. Wie gesagt konzentrieren sich die angebotenen Gerichte eher auf bekannte Klassiker: Schnitzel, Rumpsteak, Pann- und Backfisch entspringen dabei ebenso klar einer gutbürgerlichen Küche wie Kartoffel mit Lachs zur Vorspeise oder "Schweden-Eisbecher" und Schokoküchlein zum süßen Abschluss. Auch wenn gerade Letztgenannte dabei wohl auf Convenience aufbauen könnten, verspricht sich durch die fokussierte Auswahl mit trotzdem eine höhere Wahrscheinlichkeit für gekonntes Handwerk, sowie frische Zubereitung und gute Ausgangsprodukte. Neben dieser Standardkarte gibt es in der "Alten Feuerwache" ab und zu auch saisonale Sonderangebote. Meine einzige Kritik kann also nur dem fehlenden Abschnitt für Vegetarier gelten, die bei der Standardkarte tatsächlich nur das Knoblauchbrot mit Aioli vorfinden (selbst der Salat steht hier nur mit Hähnchenbrust auf der Karte). Aber ich bin mir sicher, dass man auf Nachfrage auch hier ein Angebot machen kann. Auch das preisliche Niveau lässt sich deutlich einer Gastronomie für Jedermann und -frau zuordnen. Während die Hauptgerichte nur 2x bei über 20€ liegen, lassen sich z.B. die drei Desserts alle für unter 10€ bestellen. Da mein Hunger an diesem Nachmittag noch nicht allzu groß war, widmete ich mich bei meinem ersten Besuch dieses Restaurant der Vorspeisen-Rubrik. Als Freund einer würzigen Küche fiel mir die Entscheidung für die zur Saison passende „Fruchtig scharfe Kürbissuppe mit Kürbiskernol and gerösteten Kürbiskernen", hier "Brandmeisters Liebling" getauft, für 8,5 € wahrlich nicht schwer. Es dauerte dann doch ca. 15 Minuten, bis die wohl temperierte Suppe leicht dampfend vor mir auf dem Tisch stand. Originell war bereits die Wahl eines Weckglases als Behälter. So lachte die Suppe mich bereits mit einer leichten Sahnehaube und dem dunklen Kürbiskernöl an. Der erste Löffel offenbarte sowohl die genau richtige Temperatur als auch Konsistenz, die weder zu dünn, noch zu dick, sondern schön sämig ausfiel. Diesem sehr guten haptischen Ersteindruck folgte der Geschmack mit angenehm dosierter Schärfe, die vortrefflich zur natürlichen Kürbis-süsse passte. Das hallte herrlich am Gaumen nach, ohne die Nase stark zum Laufen zu bringen. Eher wärmte es in der kälter werdenden Jahreszeit absolut passend auf. Als einzigen, minimalen Verbesserungspunkt könnte ich somit nur die Kürbiskerne erwähnen, von denen es gerne noch ein paar mehr für häufigere Crunch-Abwechslung hätten sein können. Eine tolle Ergänzung waren sie deshalb nämlich sowieso. Dazu gab es noch ein mit Sesam bestreutes Brot, dass lobenswert knusprig, warm und super fluffig war. Wenn man für gerade einmal 8,5 € ein do wohliges Gefühl am Gaumen und im Magen bekommt, dann kann man nur vom optimalen PLV sprechen. So komme ich zum Schluss also wieder zu meiner persönlichen Zusammenfassung hinsichtlich dieses ersten Besuches in der "alten Feuerwache" bezüglich der verschiedenen Kategorien. Selbst wenn die Gegebenheiten des ehemaligen Feuerwehrgebäude im Innenbereich nicht die Urigkeit der alten Häuser in der Altstadt erreicht, so lässt sich an der Gemütlichkeit, Sauberkeit und dem Zustand des Interieurs nichts groß zu bemängeln. Ebenso trug auch das Serviceteam mit seiner lockeren, aber trotzdem höflichen und aufmerksamen Art dazu bei, dass man sich umgehend wohl fühlen konnte. Zu guter Letzt bestätigte sich auch die, angesichts der vergleichsweise kleineren Karte erhoffte Qualität der Speisen.  Meine saisonale Kürbissuppe hielt das annoncierte Versprechen einer mit fruchtiger Süße gut ausbalancierten Schärfe und war zusammen mit der optimalen Konsistenz somit ein Beweis dafür, dass man hier mit Können, Verstand und auch Herz in der Küche zugange ist. Das Verhältnis zum Preis von 8,5 € ist also als sehr gut zu bezeichnen. Eine Empfehlung als Anlaufstelle für gutbürgerliche Küche hat sich das Restaurant "Alte Feuerwache" und sein Team für mich also in allen Bereichen redlich verdient.

After entering the restaurant where our staff was just walking around, the first thing at the table was a reprimand about how dare we sit at the table. We were here with two children, there was no children's meal on the menu, the dog and the next table were served first and the food was served immediately without washing hands. Afterwards we preferred to leave the restaurant. I visited dozens of restaurants all over Germany, but nothing interesting other than a good restaurant concept.

An inconspicuous restaurant from the outside, which at first you would think might be old-fashioned. But the dishes were really modern and lovingly prepared. A small grilled sausage on the not at all rustic looking grill plate was cut into the shape of an octopus, like in Japanese bento boxes. I've never seen that anywhere :) Also the pan fish was draped with fried arugula or seaweed -- would love to know what it was! Also something I've never eaten in European restaurants that are relatively inexpensive like the old fire station. Would love to come back!

We were there today with 7 adults and 3 small children and were thrilled! The usual children's chairs for the kids, as well as children's dishes and toys awaited us at our reserved table. It's nice that service in this restaurant starts with the littlest guests :) The food was delicious and the service was very pleasant and friendly. It's a shame we only discovered the restaurant now! :)

Great, unassuming restaurant. The entire team was very nice, our son (13 months) immediately got some toys, his own plate and cutlery. We also really enjoyed the food. Absolutely recommended!

A family-friendly, relaxed and quiet restaurant with small outdoor seating outside the city centre. The regulars (retired firefighters?) are there for a long time. We ate Grillteller and Goulashsppa. It was all really good. Big portions! Goulash soup (one of the tastiest I've eaten) stands as a starter but is more than sufficient as a main course together with the hearty, good bread that was served with it. Shouldn't have ordered more garlic bread!

We had a delicious Viennese style schnitzel, great breading. The fried potatoes are on point, nice and crispy but not black, with diced bacon and onions! With a fresh salad, what more could you want? Price performance absolutely harmonious! Service friendly and attentive!

Llegué un poco hambriento a los 21. 00 en punto un viernes por la noche, pero le dijeron que la cocina ya había cerrado. Bien, eso puede pasar así que decidimos tomar una cerveza. La camarera tomó nuestro pedido y luego fue a sentarse a comer en el bar en lugar de servirnos. Después de diez minutos me di cuenta de que se había olvidado de nuestro pedido, le recordé que lo había confirmado. Estaba ocupada comiendo de la cocina cerrada. Finalmente tomamos nuestras cervezas. Bueno, el servicio no es para todos. Nos las arreglamos para tomar un par de cervezas más antes de salir. Me quejé a la gerente al salir, pero ella parecía pensar que esto era normal, así que no esperes más.
