Radisson Blu Senator Hotel, Lübeck in Lübeck

A great hotel, I have nothing to improve. If I need accommodation in Lübeck again, this would definitely be my first choice.

There should always be reserved tables for hotelguests but not here ..

Superb hotel, very luxurious, extremely polite staff and great conference rooms. The only drawback was that the buffet was unfortunately a bit too exotic for my taste, but you can still find something to your liking.

My expectations for a 5-star hotel were completely unmet. I've stayed at many 4-star hotels that offered more or just as much for a lower price. At least in this case, the hotel and its star rating were hopelessly overrated. The location is fantastic. Super central, no complaints there. The hotel is huge. Too big for my taste, but that's a matter of opinion. The rooms are okay. I'm not so sure whether the cups for the Nespresso machines in the room are regularly replaced, even when not in use. The selection of capsules is meager, and unfortunately, there's no description of what each one is. You have to Google it yourself. Bathrobe and a bargain in the room – perfect. The rooms and the hotel are showing their age. Signs of wear and tear are clearly visible. But at least the painters were there (in the lobby). Even so, I'm still looking in vain for 5 stars. I found the shower inconvenient. If you're not careful, you can quickly flood the entire bathroom. There's not much you can do to prevent it. There's a pool, which is great. I didn't try it, so I can't say much about it. The breakfast is quite varied, but nothing special compared to many 4-star hotels. I find the layout really inconvenient. Plus, the dining areas are incredibly crowded. And there's only one coffee machine for everyone. A wait is inevitable. One of the restaurants was closed for a private event, the other was okay, but nothing special. All in all, everything would have been fine if the hotel were cheaper or had a 4-star rating. I didn't notice any 5-star benefits except in the price, and that's disappointing!

Beautiful, well-maintained, and cozy hotel. Perfectly located near the old town. Downside: virtually no ventilation in the bathroom and room. Good parking garage but no charging station.

100/100!!! Fantastic service, super friendly staff, and service that leaves nothing to be desired. We were there from Thursday to Saturday for a company event. We will definitely be back. Best regards from Bremen

Lovely hotel, perfect location for Christmas market.

Very bad experience, I felt disrespected by the staff, when they tossed 3 well behaved kids out in the cold, when they were just trying to warm themselves.😡😡😡

A perfect location... The room was super clean, but as they say, furnished "without attention to detail"... Breakfast was really good, however, the tables were much too close together... In the evening, we enjoyed the delicious food and wine at the "Nautilo" restaurant...✨️

A wonderful experience, excellent restaurant and beautiful decor, spacious hotel with plenty of indoor and outdoor relaxation areas, a nice but not very large suite, very good breakfast and everything else was fine, I will definitely return

Reception and departure were rather cold, but the service staff at breakfast and in the evening at the bar were all the more friendly, attentive, and helpful despite the stress. Breakfast itself was a mix of good and mediocre quality, but with plenty of choice. The restaurant and stairwell area had a somewhat convoluted, labyrinthine feel, but in a good way. The location is, of course, unbeatable; the older, seemingly continuously renovated hotel makes a good and well-maintained impression overall, but the cleanliness of the room didn't quite match expectations. In a 5-star room, I wouldn't want to find pubic hair on the toilet seat or streaks on the mirror and shower upon arrival. The swimming pool was small but nice and clean. Service staff and location were 5 stars, the rest more 3 stars.

Typical of Radisson hotels: a great room, a friendly welcome, and a truly fantastic restaurant. The bar was also great, as usual. But in this case, unfortunately, the service was consistently poor and inattentive. In the restaurant, we were given a strange look by the waitress because we didn't want an appetizer – after a 10-hour drive, we simply weren't in the mood for one. We would have liked a second cocktail in the bar – unfortunately, no waitress was available, and those who were on duty simply walked past us. Unfortunately, I was completely ignored while paying the bill, as talking to others was more important – this was actually my second restaurant visit without a single cent of tip. It's a real shame, as we usually like to plan almost every stay at a Radisson hotel and always enjoy coming back, or rather, look forward to every stay – especially in Hamburg. _________________ Thank you for the response to our review! Always as good. Large hotel but with a family atmosphere. Staff and food are top class.

Rooms are in need of renovation. The location is unique, within walking distance of the Old Town, the Holsten Gate, St. Peter's Church, etc. Three hotel restaurants are priced accordingly. The breakfast offers a wide selection, but space is limited at the tables and in the hallways on two floors.

The breakfast routine was impossible; there were more guests than seats. The guests (50 people) had to queue for a table, which took over an hour, but the hotel management didn't care. We were rudely sent to another room half a floor up, where there was only a small selection for breakfast. When I asked for butter, I was offered margarine, saying that if I wanted something else I could get it from downstairs. All in all, a disgrace; this hotel doesn't deserve 5 stars. This makes any 4-star hotel significantly better.

A beautiful hotel with a great team.

Probably the best hotel in Lübeck! I can highly recommend Senator any day of the week. The view from our room was 10/10, and the breakfast buffet was one of the freshest and tastiest I've had in a long time.

We had booked a room so we could bring our dog. There was dog service available.

Great hotel at the Holstentor, right in the city center. Service is always excellent. Plenty of parking is available nearby. Perfect views across the Trave River to the Old Town.

Super hotel! We stayed with our two Siberian Huskies just for one night. We had a room on the first floor with a view of the river and city. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was lovely and clean, very comfortable. There was a reasonably priced mini bar which we made use of. If I had to give one criticism then the room was quite warm as the air conditioning didn't work that well, but you could open the window to get some fresh air. We slept really well and brought breakfast at the hotel which was the right choice as it was fantastic! So much to choose from as well as an egg chef to whip up an omelette (which I had). Totally recommend!

We recently had a break and chose the Radison Blu in Lubeck as our base. The arrival check in was very good, it could have been excellent with a little bit more of an explanation of what was where in the hotel. The room was very clean and the housekeeping team did a good job each day servicing the room. The room had view across the river Trave which passes through Lubeck. Breakfast - what an excellent selection of meats, cheeses, fruit, cereals, breads, juices. Mind blowing to us. there was hot food like sausages, bacon and eggs as well. one would never be hungary in the morning. Leisure facilities - i made use of the pool each day twice and it was clean, tidy and well presented. Staff - All the staff were polite, pleasant and spoke every time you passed them, something you would not get here in England. keep it up. Check out - all was good the room was already paid for it was just dinner one night. Minor things that could be improved on:- No real signs in the hotel to show you where the Kogge Tavern was, so we went outside round the hotel and found it. The signs on the doors to the showers did not stand out if the doors are open and thus it is quite easy to walk through the wrong one to access the pool. One breakfast sitting we missed the coffee pot. We will be back if we are in the area.

Excellent hotel - in every respect. Location next to the old town, close to all tourist attractions, spacious with tasteful interiors, with delicious breakfasts. And every day, to make the guests happy, a marzipan praline. Paradise!

Pleasant service, rooms well furnished and large with a great view

Overall a nice stay. However, in my opinion the price-performance ratio wasn't that good. On the positive side: Service was always nice, cleanliness was top notch, check-in and check-out was easy, location was great, parking in front of the hotel (although quite expensive). Not so good: The room (1007). The bed and the mattresses were absolutely unworthy of a 5-star hotel - that's not acceptable. A nice box-spring bed would be a good solution here, for example. I also expect a proper wardrobe in a "superior room" and not just a coat rack with hangers. The architecture of the room was unfortunately not that great either: View to the back of the street instead of a view of the Trave. Unfortunately no windows in the sleeping area. This made the room seem quite dark and "closed". The TV could also use an upgrade. Unfortunately, I didn't think the price-performance ratio was that good due to the points mentioned. Thanks to the nice staff anyway :)

Great central hotel in Lübeck with a nice spa and swimming pool area. The breakfast is highly recommended and leaves almost nothing to be desired! Nice view of the Trave from the room, gladly again! :)

I'm not a big fan of hotels because of my job, but a weekend is always possible. If I have the choice, I would rather stay in a boutique hotel than in a business hotel. However, the Radison in Lübeck stands out positively. The room was quite large, with a view of the Trave and Lübeck city center, 5 minutes walk to the Holstentor. The bed and especially the pillows were great and the breakfast buffet had everything you need and expect. We didn't use the pool and spa because we didn't have enough time, but it's definitely a recommendation, especially since you can easily reach it by car.

Fine hotel, delicious food and nice rooms. The only downside was that despite asking and despite the fact that the hotel was pretty empty, there was no room upgrade, even though you are a Radisson member and the reception noted that it was possible. Otherwise, great location to start your day in the city. Price-wise, especially for dinner, it was high-end, but the food was worth it. The portion size meant that ordering multiple courses was no problem.

The hotel is OK so far, but I was very disappointed with the breakfast. The selection is quite limited. For example, there are no salads, such as meat or egg salad. The bread seemed old. What that smooth station was supposed to be remained a mystery. Herbal tea? Well, if you like “flavored with honey flavor”. For 5* you can really expect more. Oh yes, in other hotels in this category there is also sparkling wine or prosecco for breakfast, which is also not available here. But the room was quite good, relatively large. I slept well. Unfortunately the soap in the bathroom was empty. And the fact that we found 10 cents on the carpet hopefully doesn't allow us to draw any conclusions about the quality of the cleaning.

Really great hotel in a very nice location with friendly staff, very nicely furnished rooms with a maritime flair. The breakfast was great. The set tables with cloth servers and wooden boards alone were a feast for the eyes. I felt very comfortable and will definitely come back. With a fitness room it would be perfect. 😀

It wasn't our first time and certainly not our last time here. Everything is just right here. Great service, nice and large rooms and the breakfast is also excellent. The location in the immediate vicinity of the Holstentor is of course a dream. If you then get hold of a public parking space in front of the hotel, everything is just right.

Very nice, well-kept hotel in a central location in Lübeck directly at the Holstentor. Very quiet read and still a 5-10 minute walk to the middle of the city. The rooms are cozy and spacious, there is little going on outside of the travel season and you can often use the pool and sauna alone. The breakfast is also great and very varied.

We were looking forward to a relaxing stay in a 5-star hotel and paid just under €600 for two nights. Unfortunately, there were both positive and disappointing aspects. Room: The room was clean and tidy, although the body lotion was empty when we arrived - a detail that shouldn't happen in a hotel of this category. However, after informing a cleaner, this was immediately remedied, which is a positive thing. Location: The location of the hotel is a big plus – super central and ideal for exploring Lübeck. Breakfast: Unfortunately, breakfast was the biggest weak point of our stay: Waiting time: The waiting time to be shown to the table was long and disorganized. Selection: The selection of food was disappointing and too small for a 5-star hotel. Staff: The tone between the employees was loud and unprofessional, so that we as guests involuntarily overheard conversations. Service: What struck us particularly negatively was how an employee shook out a crumbly placemat onto the floor right in front of our eyes - behavior that is not acceptable to either the guests or the cleaning staff. Drinks: You had to get drinks such as hot chocolate yourself from the vending machine - unusual and not in line with the service standards of a 5-star hotel. Hotel reaction: We reported the problems when checking out. It seemed as if the breakfast topic was already known. As compensation we received two drink vouchers - a nice gesture, but not enough given the price and expectations. Conclusion: The central location is a big advantage of the hotel, but the service and quality, especially at breakfast, do not meet 5-star standards. For just under €600 for two nights we expected a different stay. Improvements in service and attention to detail are urgently needed. We can currently only recommend the Radisson Blu in Lübeck to a limited extent.

This hotel is a top address in Lübeck for overnight stays! You can get to the city quickly but are also in a quiet location by the water. I have often stayed at this hotel for business purposes and have been satisfied every time. The breakfast is first class! The parking garage directly under the hotel is also great. But there is one star deduction - I find carpets in the hotel rooms very unhygienic. The wardrobe is basically just a rod - this is simply impractical. The staff are all nice, except on my last visit - one young receptionist was a bit grumpy.

A very nice hotel. Well located in the center. Unfortunately we were unable to pay in cash upon departure. Even after a long conversation, the employee didn't budge. I think we will not recommend the hotel for the reasons mentioned below.

An upscale atmosphere with everything that goes with it. Parking options directly in front of the hotel or in an underground car park. The location of the hotel is excellent. Only a few meters to most historical monuments. And the lively city center starts almost on the doorstep. A wonderful place to relax and enjoy.

Corresponds to a five-star hotel in every respect. The employees were all friendly and service-oriented. The ambience in all areas (lobby, bar, restaurant), a successful mix of modern, traditional, luxurious and cozy. We had a room with a great view over the Trave towards the old town. The breakfast buffet left nothing to be desired and you could really sit comfortably and start the day with a great breakfast. Sometimes a glass of champagne would have been the cherry on top. The bartender knew his job. Watching him at the bar in the evening was a pure joy. He conjured up ten different cocktails for a group in a very short time. What a spectacle! The sauna area could be designed a little nicer, it is more functional and you can see into the relaxation room from the street.

A wonderful house in a prime location and great comfort. Rooms fantastic, breakfast great, restaurant and bar designed in a cool submarine theme. First class - we would love to come back.

We spent the Easter weekend here with the family. The hotel has a great location on the Trave, near the Holstentor and is not far from the train station and the old town. Service and breakfast are perfect. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The hotel is fully recommended.

We just went to the “Kogge” restaurant for a few drinks. Very cozy, good and friendly service. In the back hallway there are photos of the many well-known personalities who have visited the hotel. Very interesting.

Our singing trio really enjoyed it! Spent a great girls weekend here! Super Service. Cool bar. A breakfast buffet that leaves nothing to be desired and the best rain shower ever! The icing on the cake would be some fruit in the wellness area and a glass of sparkling wine for breakfast!

Perfect hotel! Pleasant, friendly service, open and helpful with every request. Location 1A - Holstentor, center and train station - everything can be reached in a few minutes. Pool area clean and inviting. Room clean, perfectly furnished. Breakfast was great, prices were reasonable in all areas.

Wir haben als vierköpfige Familie meinen Geburtstag hier gefeiert und es war großartig. Wunschgemäß hatten wir zwei Doppelzimmer nebeneinander. Die Zimmer sind geräumig und geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Föhn, Kosmetiktücher etc. sind vorhanden. Was man zusätzlich wünscht ist an der Rezeption erhältlich. Das Frühstück ist reichhaltig und lässt keine Wünsche offen. Die Lage ist nicht zu toppen. Man ist in der unmittelbaren Nähe des Holstentores und in wenigen Gehminuten in der Altstadt. Winziger Minuspunkt: Der Wellnessbereich ist recht klein und mir haben Massage-/Kosmetikangebote gefehlt. Ansonsten freuen wir uns schon auf unseren nächsten Besuch.

Das Hotel ist eines der besten in Lübeck, im Preis gehoben aber nicht abgehoben. Sehr freundliches Personal. Sehr sauber. Frühstück hat im Vergleich zu früher nachgelassen, bleibt aber sehr gut- evtl. Hat sich das dadurch erklärt, dass gerade Umbau Maßnahmen durchgeführt werden und das Restaurant im Nautilo ist (wir sind uns da nicht sicher). Im Hotel ist es ruhig, auch von außen bei offenen Fenstern noch schlafen möglich. Die Lage könnte besser nicht sein in Blickweite des Holstentores, also in 2 Minuten ist man in der Altstadt und auch am Bahnhof.

Die Cocktails an der Bar sind außerordentlich gut. Gehen immer gerne wieder hin. Die Mitarbeiter sind ebenfalls sehr freundlich

Alles super, teilweise etwas in die Jahre gekommen, aber das macht der Service und die Lage wieder wett. Es wurde außerdem gerade auch renoviert. Gerne wieder

Anlässlich einer Familienfeier hatte ich im Dezember Gelegenheit in diesem schönen Hotel zu nächtigen. Der Service und Empfang waren sehr freundlich und professionell. Mein großzügiges Zimmer hatte eine wunderschöne Aussicht über die Trave auf die Lübecker Altstadt. Das Bad war blitzsauber, Duschkopf und Wasserhahn ohne Kalkablagerungen, das geschmackvoll eingerichtete Zimmer gepflegt und ohne Beschädigungen. Die Betten waren mit sehr guten Matratzen ausgestattet, ich habe hervorragend geschlafen. Erwähnenswert ist auf jeden Fall das ausgezeichnete Essen, sowie ein opulentes Frühstücksbuffet, welches keine Wünsche offen lässt. Fünf Sterne von mir, ich werde dort gerne wieder einkehren!
