Very nicely renovated Maybe a little too bright. The light could be dimmed a bit. But the food and service were very good. The price was also ok and at the end there was a Ramazzotti on the house 🏡 Staff very nice. Would definitely recommend the restaurant to my friends

I was here on December 31st. 24 and honestly have never seen such a brilliant performance. Comedy at its best. We heard the song Last Christmas - no joke - 50 times in an endless loop, the "boss" served in a jacket (apparently it was too cold or he was too slow), the waitress ignored the calls of the guests, the toilet was closed defect. the bill was handwritten with no prices and drinks that weren't delivered...the food came on a dining cart and had the feel of a hospital/retirement home. I'll keep it short, otherwise it'll be another 20 pages. Food ok, if available. Menu is handed over and when ordering said...we don't have it or it's out... Ambience: Cold. Heating doesn't seem to work and the large rooms are mostly empty. It was a fun experience. If the food hadn't lived up to expectations, things would have escalated. Conclusion: the store will close in 6 months at the latest. Somehow everything used to be better in Alt Gießen with the home-brewed beer and local specialties...

The service was sometimes only in English. With four drinks, the waiter couldn't remember who ordered what. Some dishes (pasta) were out even though only three tables were occupied. Could the beef I ordered have been so light???

Frozen pizzas are sold here. At least that's how it tasted and looked. Unfortunately, Citizen wasn't nice either. Absolutely not recommended! Maybe the Persian dishes are better, but then you shouldn't offer crappy burgers and pizzas. Staff was friendly! We chose the METROPOL for a Christmas party with colleagues (25 people) - not a good idea! The service was bad! The waiter couldn't take the order at first due to his lack of knowledge of German. After a long wait, a maximum of 2 drinks were brought at the same time and the waiter didn't know what they were. At no time was anyone asked if they wanted to drink something else, some people sat for several hours with just one drink! The Persian dishes are not described on the menu and couldn't be explained so I had to google what they were. After 30 minutes, a colleague was told the salmon was out and she had to order something else - that wasn't possible! The taste of the dishes was mixed, as was the quality! To pay you have to go to the exit, very uncomfortable and in my opinion unprofessional! These impressions are NOT based on a false perception (as some of the management's answers cheekily imply) but are confirmed by our entire group! None of us will come back unless the operator changes and we read good reviews (which, by the way, are rewarded with a free tiramisu ;) ), which certainly won't take too long if something fundamentally doesn't change!

Under no circumstances should you be fooled by the good reviews and the attractive website. Frozen pizza is served and the Persian food isn't really good either. In addition, the boss behaves rudely and aloofly, both towards guests and employees. Not everything that glitters is gold!

We were there for the company Christmas party. The food is just frozen food and sauce from a bag. Nobody cares about the guests once the drinks have been delivered. Everyone was freezing, the boss walked around with a jacket and scarf. Never again Not recommended

Our wedding at Restaurant Metropol was an absolute dream! The beautiful ambience created a romantic and unique atmosphere that delighted us and our guests. From planning to implementation, everything was excellently organized. The coordination before the celebration went smoothly, the team was always available, extremely reliable and implemented all of our wishes with a lot of commitment. The food was a highlight! Our guests still rave about the delicious food. The service was professional, friendly and attentive to the smallest detail. We couldn't be happier and thank the entire Metropol team for this perfect day.

After entering the restaurant, we waited 20 minutes for a waiter, unfortunately in vain! I got the drinks menu myself, but it took over an hour (!!!!!) to order the drinks. We then waited another 30 minutes for this. There were 16 of us guests and it took at least 20 minutes from the first drink to the last. Maybe it was because the drinks were brought to the table one at a time, or at most three at a time! After more than an hour in the restaurant, we were allowed to order our food. This has been an hour in coming. From the wrong food to food that was “cold” on the serving trolley, everything was there! We then served ourselves our own food because the waiter overlooked it and re-ordered it. The pizza looked (and tasted) like frozen pizza, the burger looked like it had been “waiting” in the kitchen for some time. What was funny was that we were asked for dessert even though the food wasn't there yet. Totally my sense of humor! This list could go on! The employees tried hard, but that's not possible!!! Not to mention that no allergen card was brought when asked. I'm just at a loss for words!!! Never again!!!!!!!

I was there as part of a station lunch and wouldn't go there again. I had to wait over an hour for my glass of water. The food, which came after 2.5 hours, was okay, but I could hardly understand the service. Many of the Persian dishes simply weren't available and in the end there was a discussion with my boss about two glasses of wine that she simply didn't have. Unfortunately very disappointing.

Our visit to the Metropol restaurant with a large group of 25 people was unfortunately disappointing and characterized by organizational chaos. Here is a summary of our experiences: 1. Disorganized orders: Right from the start there was a complete mess when taking orders. Some orders were not recorded correctly and there were even dishes on the bill that we never received. 2. Disproportionately long waiting times: The drinks took forever to arrive - some of us only got our drinks after 30 minutes. Particularly annoying: While most people had their drinks, you had to ask three times when the wine was coming. 3. Limited menu: Despite making a reservation (two months in advance!), about half of the menu was not available. They could have prepared better for such a large group. Taste of food was acceptable but too expensive. 4. Too few staff: It was obvious that the staff was overwhelmed. Even though our group and a smaller group of 9 people were the only guests, the service was completely overwhelmed. Better personnel planning would certainly have helped here. 5. Unfriendly manager: The icing on the cake was the manager's behavior when paying. Although we brought in significant sales with 25 people, he was extremely unfriendly. What was particularly irritating was that we were yelled at because someone ripped off the receipt from the card reader itself. However, this only happened because we were left alone during the payment process while the manager and staff disappeared. This behavior is unacceptable and has further worsened the overall impression. Overall, our visit to the Metropol restaurant was a disappointment. Despite the high turnover and the long lead time for the reservation, we felt neither welcome nor well looked after. Such poor organization and the lack of friendliness of the manager mean that we cannot recommend this restaurant.

My wife and I were there for the second time this afternoon and, like the first time, there was good service and very good food to enjoy. I'm really looking forward to seeing you again soon.

The service is actually non-existent. The empty glasses weren't noticed at all, and you weren't even asked if you wanted to drink something else throughout the evening. The waiters walked past you empty-handed, bored, and didn't even ask if you needed any more drinks or if it tasted good. We even waited for a simple water for an hour while the food was already coming. There was nothing going on in the store, no wonder. It's a shame because the ambience is really impressive.

This restaurant is absolutely fantastic! The Persian food is incredible, an authentic culinary delight. We tried the Persian Koobideh, and it was absolutely delicious. The meat was so fresh, well cooked, and bursting with flavor. Highly recommend and don’t miss the chance of having delicious food in a cozy environment.

We were very happy that an Iranian restaurant opened in Giessen, but unfortunately the service was so poor and bad that we no longer wanted to waste our money. I ordered food, after being delayed for more than an hour, we called the restaurant again who told us that we cannot serve you tonight, we have no more delivery, either send a taxi at your own expense or come and pick up the food yourself. What nonsense is this, if you couldn't deliver you shouldn't have taken the order in the first place, if I wanted to come myself I would have done it from the start instead of telling me that I would be there at ten in the evening when Most restaurants are closed, cannot serve. I went there to pick up the food, it was completely cold because they had packed it and put it on the checkout before I arrived. Not only did they not apologize for their mistake, but they also did not offer any additional service such as offering a drink as an apology. The experience I have always had in German restaurants is that after a mistake they offer a different service to keep the customer. The whole meal was cold, the meat was very large and raw, the rice was without oil or butter and had very little saffron. Given the prices, the service was absolutely terrible. I hope that after reading the negative comment, instead of deleting it, you will think about improving your service.

Except for two guests, the restaurant was completely empty at 8:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Two service staff behind the counter, another who sets tables and one who floats around the room and prefers to talk to colleagues rather than pay attention to me, the guest. When I got up after a while and they wanted to bring me the card late, I preferred to leave so as not to disturb the peace and quiet of the employees.

Had the Zeresh Polo ba Morgh - and it was really awesome! Respect to the kitchen! Service was perfect. It's a shame I live too far away 😔 I give you a clear recommendation.

The food was very tasty, carpaccio tasted great. Price-performance ratio I also want very good. We were there twice. However, for the second time there was a lot going on and the employees were extremely overwhelmed. There was a huge chaos and there was a lot of confusion. The whole situation was still very entertaining. The main thing is that the food tastes very, very tasty and you can also park for free at the B&B City Hotel. But I can also recommend the Persian cuisine from a previous visit. Nice courteous staff. Free parking for guests in the middle of the city. I'll definitely come back.

The restaurant was temporarily closed by the health department due to unsanitary conditions in the kitchen and expired food. The company's Instagram page spread misleading information, such as alleged renovations and repairs, without stating the actual reasons. In addition, critical and justified reviews that customers leave on Google seem to be removed by the operator if they are not positive about the company.

Actually, you will find a factual and detailed review of the restaurant here. After about a month, this criticism was reported as defamation via the reporting function and has not been visible since then. It's a shame that you can't give 0 stars, how you can handle criticism so incompetently and then have other posts blocked is a mystery to me.

The shop owner was just bottomless and cheeky. We went there knowing that the restaurant (Lezzet) existed, but apparently it was bought and the current owner was so disgusting... - as if it wasn't bad enough that we waited 1 1/2 hours for our food and made the boss aware of it - got a statement from him: “It wasn’t his problem, it was the kitchen’s problem” ?????? - we wanted to get up and just leave. After we also overheard the conversation with the waiter and the kitchen staff - “We were unlucky and should have waited” we were really just shocked. After we complained several times, our food came even though we wanted to get up (!!!), but this unfriendly and unprofessional attitude really spoiled our appetite. Do yourself a favor and eat somewhere else. To be honest, they didn’t understand the meaning of “customer is king” or human dignity in general. Disgusting, unfriendly, disrespectful. 0/0. Never again.

Excellent and exquisite! We celebrated my son's baptism on a Saturday lunchtime with 16 adults, a toddler and 2 babies. The food was delicious and the whole community got it at the same time. The tables inside are well placed so that you can easily move around with a stroller. There is also a large terrace. Definitely also good for a walker or wheelchair. Service was friendly, the location was very well maintained (changing room in the women's bathroom with everything you need), card payment was easy and free parking in the back yard by validating the parking ticket. We would love to come back!

We ordered kebab kubideh. Even though it was just evening and according to the advertisement the restaurant is open until 11pm, the restaurant manager told us that the kebab kubideh was sold out as there were a lot of customers in the morning. When we ordered Joojeh Kebab instead, it was ready after 45 minutes. The quality of the food was not good at all and we all could feel the taste of rose water in the chicken which is not part of the Iranian Joojeh Kebab recipe at all! During this long waiting time, no appetizer was served like in other Iranian restaurants, for example in the Kish restaurant in Frankfurt, and the management took care of the guests' affairs inefficiently. In general I cannot recommend this restaurant.

The only star that can be awarded here is for the cleanliness of the guest room. The service barely understands what you're asking, the sausage and cheese aren't chilled and are already sweaty, the scrambled eggs are totally cold, the buffet doesn't look as appealing as the pictures promise and at €14.90 per person, it's absolutely overpriced, once and for all never again!!!

We were there for the breakfast buffet. We had to pay as soon as we entered the place. The buffet is quite clear. There were only 3 different types of sausage, they weren't even made from pork. There was only 1 type of jam...Everything that needed to be normally cooled was already running out. Cheese, sausage, butter... what was supposed to be hot was only lukewarm. There was no cocoa for the children and when we asked, we were given baking cocoa. Unfortunately, the lady who took the money from us and we complained that the things weren't refrigerated didn't understand German. The dishes weren't cleared away either, but were left in front of us the whole time. The lady tried hard, but all in all it was far too expensive at €15 per person. (It said €14.90, but it was calculated as €15, which is normally not a problem). We definitely won't eat there anymore, even though the atmosphere is actually very nice.

La Scala is a restaurant with really great food, pretty good service and a pretty nice atmosphere. My first visits didn't convince me at all due to very poor service. However, the restaurant was able to change this impression into a positive one over the last two visits. Great food, good service and good value for money. We will come back!

Where is La Scala? Now metropolis OMG that was a disaster today. The man with his drag and unkempt feet in such a hotel restorant is unbelievable. Hygiene has to be taught all the glasses were dirty when I said that the man was so pissed off and angry. Lipstick was still visible. Sugar resets were still visible. You can get herpes just from looking. Never again. Totally unfriendly

We've eaten at La Scala a few times now. It is rare that a restaurant has such a wide selection and yet all the dishes are tasty. We always enjoy going there.

I just can't figure it out from this place: It's Sunday lunchtime at 12:30 p.m., the restaurant is completely empty... not a single guest! We stand in the entrance area for 10 minutes, no staff to be seen or heard. I walk across the restaurant to find someone from the service, suddenly I'm lucky. We ask for a table outside where we can sit down. On the left side of the terrace there are umbrellas and 3 guests. But we are not allowed to sit here as this part is only available to hotel guests. On the right side there is only a single parasol under which 2 guests sit. We don't want to sit in the blazing sun, so we choose a table inside. We're completely alone there... not a single guest but us! So: actually the very best conditions for attentive service...but only actually! The waiter comes after a quarter of an hour, puts the menus on the table and disappears again... He doesn't seem to want to sell any drinks!? Another 15 minutes pass before I have to call after him that we are ready for an order. We order the food together with the first drink. From there everything takes its course: drinks well chilled, food okay (but nothing more!). Furthermore, you have to call the service if you want something more to drink (we sit with empty glasses for at least 15 minutes every time and no one cares). This can happen in a busy restaurant, but I repeat: we were alone! Funny! How does the place make money if they don't even serve the only customers there attentively??? Conclusion: Ambiance/presentation of the restaurant: unbeatable 5 stars Food: normal average, 3 stars Service: virtually non-existent, 0 stars

The breakfast buffet cost 15€ and it was very slimmed down and didn't have much choice. It wasn't particularly attractively presented either, as if the cheese etc. had been thrown on top. There weren't even tongs for the cheese and sausage. Do you take them with your hands? Some things were often empty and it took a long time until they were refilled. There wasn't even fruit salad, muesli, cake, etc. For breakfast, somewhere else definitely offers more for the price.

We went there for breakfast with a larger group and were unfortunately disappointed by the buffet, which was no longer replenished at 10 a.m., even though breakfast times ran until 11:30 a.m. Where the coffee was empty, which is included, individual cups were served, which you had to pay extra for. Overall, for me personally, it was the worst breakfast I've ever had and I wouldn't voluntarily eat there again.

The breakfast buffet was quite simple, the scrambled eggs were cold and were not refilled. Coffee, juice and cereal were good and the restaurant was clean and tidy. Overall it was fine as an annex to the hotel, but nothing more.

There is an extensive one here every day Lunch menu. Every Tuesday we even have a rump steak with a side salad, a small variety of vegetables and small fried potato pieces.

The morning brunch was a relaxed and enjoyable experience at the right time. Nice ambience. The food is worth 4-5 stars to me, you can also safely turn a blind eye and give it 5 stars. I think the selection of drinks could be improved a little, as well as offering vegetarian milk substitutes. Also improve your choice of cold cuts.

We were there this morning for the breakfast buffet. It was catastrophic, tables were dirty and nothing was cleared anywhere, there was almost no food at the "buffet", there was almost nothing there and it wasn't refilled in the entire time, not even plates or cups, coffee was empty. The waitresses didn't do anything, it was a total failure and is absolutely not recommended. At the end we weren't asked if everything was okay, I think they themselves know how bad they are.

Very tasty dishes...good, perfectly prepared meat...be it rump steak, chicken breast, veal medallions and burgers...everything was very good. Also very friendly service. Tasting tip: Veal medallions with pepper sauce...very tasty. The restaurant is large, well furnished and very clean.

We were very happy with everything. We had reserved and unfortunately we were late. A corresponding call was responded to with understanding. Shortly before 10 p.m. we were warmly welcomed and given delicious food and drinks. It was a nice end to the day. Thank you.

I had a burger with beef strips, fries, ketchup and mayonnaise. The citizen tasted okay but my expectations were higher. Two waiters served me. One didn't speak German very well but was friendly and helpful. The other spoke good German but seemed to have no real desire to serve. The ambience is nice.

Breakfast doesn't have much choice for an open buffet, unfortunately it's not enough. If something is empty, it won't be filled again straight away. Bread, rolls and sweets not from the bakery but rather frozen products!!! Lunch, on the other hand, was very good but unfortunately the portion was a little smaller than usual and unfortunately too expensive for the price!!!!

Beautifully designed restaurant with a wide selection of both drinks and food. The food was absolutely gorgeous. Perfect portion size for us as rather mediocre eaters, but I could imagine that people who eat more would definitely need a starter 😅 The burger was super awesome and the steak was one of the best we've ever eaten. We were there with a larger group. With reservation! The first ones got their food after 20 minutes, the last ones had to wait 1.5 hours while other tables that were occupied later were served! And then the food tasted good, but was only lukewarm or sometimes cold!

I was there for the first time last night. At first I had a good impression. We had booked a table for 7 p.m. with almost 20 people. Ordered food at 7:40 p.m. 10 of us got their food at around 8:30 p.m. and the rest had to wait until 9 p.m. That is not how it works!!!

We ordered six 28cm pizzas. We measured it: 24cm. Complaining doesn't help you in a situation when everyone is hungry and the supplier has already left. Was pretty disappointing. I don't order here anymore.

Having only two waiters working on a Saturday evening is more than an insult to everyone involved. We had to wait 2 hours for the food. In general I've been there 3 times and the same thing every time! The poor waiters and the poor guests. If you don't practice intermittent fasting, you should look for something else.

Wir mussten ewig drauf warten bis wir überhaupt essen bestellen konnten. Die Salatsoße hat nach fertig Soße geschmeckt. Das Schnitzel war ein fertig Produkt! An manchen Frittenbuden kann ich besser Schnitzel essen! Die Nudeln mit Lachs, haben so stark nach Knoblauch geschmeckt, dass man nichts anderes geschmeckt hat. Das Hirschgulasch war das einzige Gericht was gut war.
