We used to enjoy going to the Basilico often. The prices have now become quite high, although the quality has not changed. My “macaroni” was penne pasta (and this was the second time). Because the room is quite small and it was quite full, it was very loud. The service was very inattentive and we had to keep drawing attention to ourselves.

Good evening, So far my experiences with eating on site have been very positive. Today I ordered food to pick up for the first time. And I have to say that I was extremely disappointed and dissatisfied. Starting with the noodles, which were carelessly prepared and lacked any taste. We continue with the falafel burger, which I received was soggy and extremely unappetizing. The box was full of condensation and fat, which is why the side dish was unfortunately not edible. So unfortunately I have to say that picking up food is not recommended - especially not for €40. Kind regards

But hello, you can say that. We found the restaurant by chance and already quite full, but we were assigned a nice seat and the food was only the finest. Then bus again next year when we are back in Giessen.

Shortly decided to go have breakfast. Simply great and great price for €9.90 breakfast buffet with everything you want. Simply great and highly recommended 😁

The food is okay - the menu isn't too bloated and there are daily specials (Monday = pizza day etc.). You can sit inside or outside and the service is great! The drinks menu is also varied, including homemade lemonades. We were missing pepper and salt at the table but that wasn't a problem.

Sorry, but the food isn't worth more than one point. Rarely have we eaten such a bad meal, literally everything about the meal was bad and of the cheapest quality.

Unfortunately the staff speaks very poor German. This makes communication on the phone difficult.

I can only warmly recommend the Basilico kebab shop! The kebabs are simply fantastic – fresh, tasty and perfectly seasoned. You can tell that the work here is done with a lot of love and passion. A very special highlight is the waitress Lily! Not only is she incredibly friendly and attentive, but she also makes you feel at home straight away. Her recommendations are always gold, and she has a great sense of what guests need. If you're looking for great food and great service, be sure to stop by Basilico! Have ordered food. Waited almost 2 hours. Food was cold and the wrong thing was delivered. I called and complained. The waitress just said yes, that's wrong, we just have a lot of orders.

Need to update my rating from 4 stars to 1 star. The food is tasty, portions are large. One of the better, more modern restaurants in Giessen. However, my complaint was not addressed at all because my pizza was really inedible. I was just told that other guests hadn't complained. What kind of argument is this???

Great foot with a satisfactory portions. Atmosphere is cool but a little crowded. Unfortunately there is no park place, which makes things very hard if you want to come by car.

Food is fine, large portions, tastes and tastes the same every time you visit. Large selection and price is okay. Unfortunately, service is a matter of luck. Sometimes it's really good and sometimes you wait an unusually long time for everything or are ignored. Whether service is good or bad depends on how busy the store is.

The two of us went to the Basilico today. Our service was super nice and accommodating, so 5/5 stars. As a starter we had bruschetta with Parma ham and Parmesan, the bread could have been a little more toasted and the garlic could have been stronger. However, that is complaining at a high level and the starter was very tasty. The side salads were delicious, very sweet, but still harmonious. Mine had a bit too much salad dressing in the bowl. My friend ate the Schnitzel Ecem with sweet potato fries. The sourcream was delicious, nice and sour and well balanced with herbs, just as it should be. The schnitzel itself was also delicious, but unfortunately because it is relatively "packed" with the shrimp, the fried egg and the tomato-garlic sauce, the schnitzel itself has little or no taste of its own and is drowned out. I had the schnitzel broccoli with hollandaise sauce and cheese. Very tasty, lots of cheese on the schnitzel (but that's ok, I like that). The sauce tasted homemade and the broccoli still had some bite. So I really liked it. The portions were super big, so I couldn't finish everything and in retrospect we would have preferred to leave out the starter. Another bonus is that our food was cheaper on Tuesdays thanks to the schnitzel promotion. All in all, we will come again to gain more experience.

Food is usually very good. I always stopped by regularly and always left happy. Otherwise we always sat further “back” in the restaurant, further away from the counter. But today we sat further up front. There wasn't much going on. I noticed several times how the "head waiter" complained loudly about the customers and cursed about the addition of a portion of fries to the order and made fun of the guests with other waiters... Only in Italian. In this case, thank God I don't look like an Italian... but I am one. People also complained about my order (which wasn't strange in any way). I'll refrain from quoting the exact words... As I was clearing away the “head waiter” smiled in my face and asked if it was tasty. I can't understand how often this happens, but I know the employees from my previous regular visits to the restaurant. Food is great. But that was our last time.

Once upon a time there was a cozy atmosphere and a great breakfast buffet. Not anymore. Breakfast buffet was replaced by a selection of 'breakfast plates' to order from. Oppressive atmosphere, unfriendly and arrogant staff. The two of us came at 11 and got a ticket. And waited. 15 minutes later a group came to the next table and also received the card. We were not spoken to by the waiter and continued to wait. After another 10 minutes we had enough and went into the tower. THIS is really recommended. So anyone who likes to be an ignored supplicant as a guest will definitely feel at home in the Basilico. If you like hospitality and want to be treated courteously... well... you should go somewhere else.

Despite the holiday, we immediately got a table outside. The waiter came to our table quickly and took the order. After we ordered, it only took about 20 minutes and we had these very filling meals (we took the leftovers with us) at the table. Very tasty and we were very surprised at the quality. The pizzas are really to die for. The staff very nice. At the end we felt a bit forgotten. We will come back just to see the pizza 😍 The toilets are also a bit old and the ladies' tap wasn't really easy to use.

You sit comfortably, rolls, coffee and orange juice are all inclusive. Breakfast plate rich and beautifully designed. Here the eye eats too. Service very nice.

I would have preferred to give 0 stars. We ordered over 2 hours ago via Lieferando. It said we would arrive every minute. That took an hour. No one answered the phone to ask where the food was. The line was busy all the time. After a long wait, the delivery person came and apologized, not to mention a suggestion to give a discount, the food was taken away again, no words for it!

I can only recommend this restaurant, the food tastes very good. Unfortunately the lamb casserole is no longer available.

Food is okay for the price, but nothing special. Sometimes the orders come after 30 minutes, sometimes after more than two hours. Otherwise, it's a shame that the prices for the breakfast buffet have almost doubled in such a short time (from €6 to €10). In addition, the maps on the homepage and on Lieferando should be aligned, as on the website e.g. B. the Pizza Parma costs €8.90 instead of €11.50 at Lieferando.

Portions were very large, especially the pizza, but you have to be a cheese lover, it was overloaded with cheese, and the wrap, which felt like it was filled with paprika sauce, was gratinated with cheese. If you can tolerate it and like it: ok. I had stomach cramps day and night (despite sorting the cheese). It's a shame, otherwise everything seemed very tasty.

Without a reservation we were lucky to get a table. The service is friendly. The menu offers a wide selection and the food is good.

We enjoy coming here and recommend it again and again. The service is great, the ambience is absolutely beautiful, the portions are huge and the food is so good. So far there hasn't been a dish that we didn't like. In the evening you should definitely reserve a table.

The Basilico is a recommended restaurant in Giessen. My favorite are the pizzas. These are a nice size, not too expensive and very tasty. The baked potatoes are also good and plentiful. The food is served in record time. Can have advantages and disadvantages. The drinks menu is very, very large and there are many offers. In summer there is also an outdoor area, which is very nice. Basically it is a solid restaurant that makes an effort and also has great food. We will use it more often and enjoy it.

Point 1 you can't drink alcohol here despite it being on the menu and point 2 I said 3 times that I didn't want any champions on my pizza and there were still some on it and point 3 what were other guests served first even though we were already 15 Waited minutes for condition. Incredibly disappointed! Ordered food online and didn't know anything like that from Basilco. Food was absolutely NOT possible! Salad way too full of onions, fries never eaten so badly and schnitzel rubbery and not at all tasty.

First of all: the food is very tasty, especially the pizzas are great! That's why two stars, because my complaint is exclusively aimed at the (telephone) service. The restaurant may often be fully booked, but on the phone you will simply be cut off with “no, we don't have anything left”, no comment as to whether you can wait or whether you should make a reservation early enough. Super rude and unprofessional. Also when I was in the restaurant with two other people, an employee said that they were fully booked and he was sorry. The table that was reserved said 6 p.m. and it was 4:55 p.m. we definitely would have managed to eat. It wasn't packed either, there were reserved signs on the tables. It's a shame that customers are just fobbed off like that.

The restaurant was only half full and two tables were reserved, but when we asked for a table for two people we were met with an unfriendly "We're full." answered. We liked going to a different restaurant.

The pizzeria is welcoming, we didn't book but they let us sit anyway. The service was quite fast. Courteous staff. The pizza was good, well cooked and very light. The excellent price. We will definitely be back.

Die Location liegt in der Mitte von Gießen. Gut mit dem Bus erreichbar. Die Karte ist groß und vielseitig. Für jeden was dabei. Pizza, Salate, Nudeln, Schnitzel, viele vegetarische Gerichte und und und... Am besten vorher reservieren. Da ist immer viel los!

Really lovely food and place for Christmas - wonderful that they were open on Christmas. Service was generally fine. It was only a bit strange that they kept asking us if we would like to order more drinks even though we were not yet done with the current ones. They also didn't quite seem to care about us anymore once they thought we weren't going to order anything else. When leaving, no goodbyes either. Still a good place to visit for the food.

Die Pizza ist meiner Meinung die beste in ganz gießen. Vor allem der Teig hat mich überzeugt. Bürger kann ich nicht empfehlen und auch die Lasagne kann ich nicht empfehlen. Aber wer Pizza essen möchte sollte hierhin kommen. Auch preislich fair (vorallem mit den 30% bei selbstabholung)
