Authentic German cuisine and good service. The restroom is clean but only accessible via two flights of stairs and not very inviting.

The menu states that a smile is complimentary – apparently not for all guests. Questions were met with curt replies, and opinions expressed were dismissed as wrong. A shame, as the food itself was very tasty. Update on the owner's response: It's just as bitter as the menu itself. The fact is: My wife and I found part of the otherwise good meal too salty. And the response is that this isn't true. Why bother asking how it tasted if you're just going to declare it wrong?

First time in Leipzig, and we were hungry for coffee and cake. We were in the right place. Highly recommend the apple pie. The dining room used to be a classroom, so the atmosphere was very cozy.

Very delicious food and great service. We had the spiced beef starter and the goose breast and aspic for main courses. The goose breast was very crispy and the service was prompt and super friendly. The Quarkkeulchen (a kind of quark dumpling) dessert was also AMAZING! We'd love to come back.

For me personally, this is the best home-style cooking I've ever eaten. The red cabbage in the Oktoberfest goulash was so wonderfully seasoned—you have to try it. Vegetarian options are also available. Very friendly and efficient service!

Reserving a table was easy, but absolutely essential for dinner, especially on a Tuesday. The food was excellent and, considering the restaurant was extremely busy, the timing was perfect. The real disappointment was the staff: they were either incompetent or extremely arrogant—at least to us non-Saxons. Customers should never be treated like that!

Stopped by for Mittagessen for a day trip in the city and found the food underwhelming . It’s not really a good representation of German cuisine. Both meat proteins just lacked depth but the sides sauerkraut were good. Took a really long time to pay the bill so it’s also a bit slower from a service point.

There were nine of us on a public holiday. Advance reservations and arrangements were excellent. The house was full, and despite the resulting hustle and bustle, we felt very comfortable. The service was quick and attentive, always quick to offer a quick word, which was very fitting. The food was very good, and everyone was extremely satisfied. The value for money was very good; we highly recommend it.

8.00 euros for a non-alcoholic shandy... Yeah... You can do that... What a disgrace. It would be nice if they explained that when ordering. Unbelievable... No problem, Leipzig has its prices, but paying almost 3 euros more than a regular shandy is just a rip-off. ADDITIONAL NOTE: According to the response, they're not even remotely open to criticism 😉 Advance notice to the guest would help (we weren't given any). We noticed the boss's behavior towards other guests and employees 😉 I think that's not what appreciation looks like.

I just popped in spontaneously to warm up and have something simple to eat. It was wonderfully warm, in more ways than one. I ordered a dish from the special menu. Truly old-fashioned delicious. It was busy, but there was still a table available. I also noticed later that the staff are flexible and eager to please. Truly customer-friendly. Beautiful decor.

I'm currently sitting down to my last sip of espresso at Reinhardts, and I have to say it quite clearly: I haven't eaten this well in a long time! 👍🏻🙂 High praise to the kitchen and the very friendly service. For starters, I had a cheese soup. Very spicy, delicate, and creamy. It reminded me of a cheese and leek cream soup. For the main course, I had the beef roulade. It was as soft as butter, and the red cabbage ❤️, the Christmas spices, were the highlight for me personally. We will definitely eat here again on our next visit to Leipzig. Anyone who likes to expect mountains of food for little money, who values ​​quantity over quality, is definitely in the wrong place 😉 Best wishes from the Ländle and see you soon.

I have never eaten a better profiteroles.

The food was very good, hearty German cuisine, and the service was very friendly and helpful. Thanks to the weather, we ate outside. It would have been very cramped and stuffy inside. Nevertheless, the atmosphere was great. It was always full.

We simply felt ripped off. Now we also know why the appetizer/side salad (one lettuce leaf, one tomato wedge, one cucumber slice, and two dessert forks of raw vegetable salad) came with dessert cutlery (a small fork and a teaspoon). The portion was much too small for regular cutlery—I think you're not supposed to eat salad with a spoon? €6.50. Then came the Leipziger Allerlei, a potato mash about the size of a tennis ball with three tablespoons of vegetables and three or four baby prawns for €18.40. The entire meal tasted good, but at just under €25, it was €10-12 too expensive, without exaggeration. NOT RECOMMENDED! That was our first and last time there!!!!

Typical regional cuisine and superb location.

We were there yesterday afternoon and not only were we served very friendly, but our dogs were also given fresh water first. That's a double bonus for dog owners, of course. The service staff were also very friendly and accommodating, and we will definitely stop by and eat there again on our next visit to Leipzig.

If you have a big appetite, you shouldn't visit this restaurant. I ordered a roast beef with fried potatoes for just under €20. What can I say? When the friendly waitress brought it to my table, I initially thought it was a welcome gift from the kitchen, not the main course. When I asked whether the roast beef (approx. 7cm x 7cm) was a joke or an oversight, I was told it was normal. Unfortunately, it's a shame when you offer good, home-style cooking and expect it from your guests.

I'm from Berlin and stopped at Gasthaus Reinhardts today. The staff was very friendly, and the view of St. Nicholas Church was beautiful. I ordered boiled beef from Saxon pasture-fed beef with root vegetable bouillon, dumplings, and horseradish. It was absolutely delicious. Highly recommended!

We were passing through today and stopped here for lunch. We received very warm service from Heike(?), the food was delicious, and everything was done quickly and with a great sense of humor. We absolutely recommend it!

I came here spontaneously today without a reservation and was still warmly welcomed. The food and beer were great. I like the landlady's sense of humor. So if you're in Leipzig, go there. They serve Saxon dishes. Thanks for the stay.

We were given a warm and friendly welcome here spontaneously after a tour of Leipzig. We got a table without any problems (on a weekday). Very friendly staff, great food. The highlight for our children was the dessert, which they were even allowed to pick up from the kitchen themselves.

Meine Kollegin und ich wollten gestern Abend - idealerweise draußen essen und standen vor dem Restaurant – niemand kümmerte sich. Auf Nachfrage bekamen wir eine knappe Antwort: „Alles reserviert.“ Man ließ uns einfach stehen - Kein Angebot, kein Entgegenkommen. Auf eigene Initiative sprachen wir daraufhin eine andere Mitarbeiterin an, ob es vielleicht drinnen Platz gäbe. Sie bestätigte dies kurz und verschwand ebenfalls, ohne sich weiter um uns zu kümmern. Wir sind gegangen und wurden in einem anderen Restaurant herzlich empfangen. Schöne Lage allein reicht nicht – an Zugewandheit und Gastorientierung gibt es deutlichen Nachholbedarf.

My colleague and I wanted to eat outside last night, ideally, and were standing in front of the restaurant – but no one bothered us. When we asked, we received a curt reply: "Everything's reserved." They simply left us standing there – no offer, no consideration. On our own initiative, we then asked another employee if there might be room inside. She briefly confirmed this and also disappeared without paying us any further attention. We left and were warmly welcomed at another restaurant. A beautiful location alone isn't enough – there's a clear need to improve on friendliness and guest orientation.

Ganz kurz: ich bestellte ein lecker Würzfleich für 11.90 € , also als Hauptgericht. Bekam dann eine sehr überschauliche Portion, die nach Auskunft ihrer Service-Mitarbeiterin im Umfang der ebenfalls als Vorspeise erhältlichen Portion entspricht. Meine Verwunderung war komplett, als ich diese drei Happen Portion vor mit fand und mich erkundigte, ob da nicht aus Versehen die Vorspeise geliefert wurde. Nein, antwortete Ihre leicht auf Krawall gebürstete Servicekraft, Vor- und Hauptspeise seien gleichermaßen gewichtet. Da habe ich gestaunt. Wie soll ein auf Hauptspeise hoffender Gast am Ende davon gesättigt und zufrieden ihr Lokal verlassen? Ich meine, ihr Konzept funktioniert an dieser Stelle nicht. Statt Sättigung und Zufriedenheit schafft dieses Vorspeisen Portiönchen Frust und sogar Verärgerung. Weil Ihre loyale Servicekraft in unangemessenem Ton das Konzept verteidigte und keinen Millimeter auf Ihre Gäste einging, hat sie unseren Wunsch, mit ihnen zu in Verbindung zu treten, einen kräftigen Schub verabreicht. Vielleicht ist unser Erlebnis für Sie Anregung, darüber nachzudenken, ob Sie diese verwirrenden Irrungen nicht besser lassen. Denn 11.90 € für eine Vorspeise, die dann als Hauptspeise Sättigung verheisst, aber den Gast hungrig und frustriert in die Leipziger Nacht hinaus schickt, das ist schon Allerlei. Wer auf Unfreundlichkeit Wert liegt ist hier genau richtig. Die Bedienung ist mehr als pampig, beleidigend und absolut unseriös. Der letzte Laden ist das in Leipzig. Absolut keine Empfehlung !!!

Wir wollten zu Abend essen. Alle Tische belegt, aber fast überall noch mindestens 2 Plätze frei. Ich frage den Chef, ob er 2 Plätze für uns hat. NEIN Darauf ich - aber es sind doch an fast jedem Tisch noch Plätze frei und ich würde gern an einem Tisch fragen. Darauf ER: Nein ICH: warum nicht. AER: weil ich das sagen. Es gibt keinen Platz. So geht Kunden vergraulen. Unfreundlich und unwirsch

The menu was good. Unfortunately, we didn't get to eat. The owner chased us away in an unacceptable tone. We arrived 10 minutes early. We just wanted to sit in the beer garden and wait for it to open. It's sad to see something like this in this day and age.

Highly recommended. It was delicious. There were four of us and we sat outside. We received friendly service. The strawberry cream puff was the perfect dessert. You should definitely try the bread schnapps!!!

The rudest service I've ever encountered. They handed us the drinks menu, and a minute later they asked us what we wanted. Then they had already chosen. When we didn't respond immediately, the waitress replied in a rude tone. "So, what now? Yes or no." We got up and left.

We were there with a larger group of seniors, and had made a reservation just in case. The ambiance and seating were OK. Personally, I ordered the aspic terrine...if it had been listed as a snack/appetizer, that would have been OK, but honestly, after eating, I was wondering what to order; I wasn't full (see above, senior citizen!!). When the waitress asked me (was everything OK?), I also said that the portion was "very generous." This was confirmed very kindly with a "Yes," and that was the end of the matter. Well, the Nikolaischule issue is also closed for me.

A Turnermusik concert at 3:30 p.m., 16 empty tables—all reserved; only seated if you're eating; six groups of customers were turned away—they just wanted a drink in the 28-degree heat. I'm puzzled as to how this place will have a future.

A rain shower surprised us as we were leaving the Niklolai Church and we went straight to the next restaurant. The atmosphere was nice, the food was typical of the area and both beers tested were very tasty. Tip the Zwickl beer 👍👍👍 The price was okay, the service was quick and with typical East German warmth💚. No tourist rip-offs like you often find near tourist hotspots. It would be good if you could at least pay with a credit card above a certain value, as that is actually standard internationally. (American Express charges horrendous fees, so I completely understand if restaurateurs don't offer this)

Great restaurant with very good food. I had a gnocchi and vegetable casserole topped with feta and Emmental cheese. It was fantastic. Everyone else at the table enjoyed it too. One meal was initially forgotten. After we informed them, it was immediately refilled, with a shot of schnapps on the house. For dessert, there were homemade cream puffs filled with ice cream, fruit, and cream (they were enormous and truly deserve the name Kilimanjaro) and a flambéed ice cream dessert. The highlight for me was our waitress – absolutely friendly, quick-witted, and funny. She made our evening a memorable one and entertained us well. The restaurant was full, and she never lost her sense of humor. Thank you very much for that.

Das Essen ist ordentlich und schmackhaft. Ein Blick in die Karte sorgt allerdings für erhebliche Irritation. Dort stellen sich die Betreiber vor, was ja recht nett ist, allerdings stellen sie ebenso ihr staatskritisches Gedankengut vor, was weniger nett ist. Es erinnert vielmehr an krudes "Alles ist schlecht-WirrWar", im AfD-Style. Untermalt wird das Ganze von Aussagen der Kellnerin wie: "Das ist in diesem Staat mittlerweile so". Na dann: Guten Appetit!!

With reservations. We ate and drank here. The ambience is simple but also pleasantly rustic. What's important, and we noticed this unpleasantly, is that if it's just a starter without a main course, it's around €3.5-5 more expensive for the same portion. That's quite outrageous. When we subsequently ordered a main course, we still had to pay the increased price. This was only avoided after a discussion with the managing director. Of course we won't come here anymore. It's a shame because it's actually quite central and original.

Price/performance doesn't fit. The meal of duck breast, goulash and a fish dish was served within 10 minutes. Unfortunately, the quality was commensurate with the times. The dessert and the curry in a glass also had the quality of a fast food restaurant. It's a shame - very friendly service.

Absolutely top service...this is how gastronomy should be everywhere. The four of us just wanted to have a beer. Since there were seats available in the dining restaurant, but we would have "taken away" the seats from the guests who wanted to eat dinner, we were redirected to the café opposite on the first floor...we comfortably drank two beers each and then ate a terrine each Solyanka....THANK YOU

So we can't share all the things that have been written about the service, on the contrary, the service was excellent compared to other restaurants in Leipzig! The food was good and the service was okay. Kind of confusing on how to enter the restaurant. Should you need to go the toilet make sure you have a 1 euro coin because that is all that it takes. No other charge. A long walk down stairs and back after finding that out.

Actually the one star is not justified. We called a few days ago to reserve a table for St. Martin's goose dinner today. We were told the reservation wasn't necessary because there wasn't expected to be a big crowd that day of the week. We were all the more surprised when we arrived in front of the closed doors well after the nominal opening time. We were unable to find any clue as to the cause of the closure, and other visitors were obviously surprised by the closure. Unfortunately not a good sign of respect for the guests. We will avoid the restaurant in the future.

You should make a reservation as it is usually fully booked. The food was very good, the quantity, price and quality were right. Unfortunately a bit loud inside due to the room acoustics, Here you should consider whether to use acoustic absorbers (also possible in listed buildings)

There is home-style food at a very good level. The prices are absolutely justified. The waiters and waitresses are quick, but overall they could be more positive. Overall, the restaurant seems a bit old-fashioned, but that fits with the cuisine on offer. Getting to the toilet is a bit of a challenge. It basically takes you halfway through the museum.

Ate the *Hungarian casserole*, it was great. You don't have to wait long for the drinks, they are at the table faster than you can see. It's a bit noisy from the other guests, so you have to lean forward while talking. The decor is what I expect in an inn. Purposeful, no-frills wood. For dessert I tried larch. It's made of marzipan, which isn't on the menu - just for your information, it's enough for two. I liked it, been there 2 days in a row now.

When I asked about a table over the phone that same evening, the boss said, "No problem for two people, I can always accommodate!" When we arrived he said there was no reservation... Well, after a short wait he accommodated us, a table right on the aisle. Disturbing as there is a lot of activity. When a good table for two immediately became available, we were not allowed to change. Goodwill and friendliness look different. The waitress herself was a very nice and polite older lady who gave us good advice. But she personally deserves 5 stars! We were completely satisfied with the food. The first contact when entering the restaurant was quite rustic: as soon as I set foot in the dining room and asked in a friendly manner (“Excuse me, is this the entrance?”), I was escorted out more rudely than gently with reference to some signs that I probably saw had overlooked. We actually wanted to go back there. Luckily we stayed. When we got a table after a few minutes, we were served very friendly and attentively. The food was excellent and absolutely reasonably priced. (The children's meals could perhaps be a little larger.) Despite the best location and great ambience, it's not a tourist rip-off with mediocre food. All in all, a great evening, albeit with a few teething problems. Thank you!

The boss provided us with a table for four people for a spontaneous visit with quick organization. Very rustic atmosphere, absolutely cheerful waiter with Bavarian charm and joy in the work. The food was also very tasty, although perhaps the portion was a bit small for the men. You can easily create an appetizer with it. But there was still room for beer and schnapps.
