Moderately friendly service, average food. Outrageous pricing. A small mini bowl of starter salad costs €9.90!!! Alone, as a starter €6.50 What's the point? The same procedure is used for seasoned meat. When we asked, we were referred to the boss, who of course wasn't in the house. We had hoped for more and were accordingly disappointed. We won't be back...

The service was ok, the food too. Unfortunately, a little little for the hefty price.

We were there on 7/5/24. I was looking forward to the pollack fillet in a potato crust. When the food came I was angry. I got a breaded pollack fillet from the freezer. When I complained about this to an employee, she called a colleague. She wanted to tell me that the potatoes were chopped very small and that's what it looks like. I was there with 2 trained chefs who also told her that it wasn't potato crust. The lady then said stroppily, "If that's what you think then that's it, that's how we do it anyway." Everyone can form their own picture of it. See photo. I think it's rip-off and annoying. It was only given 3 stars because there were 3 other people there who were more satisfied with their food and I want to take that into account. Essen war geschmacklich gut, das Gulasch mit gerade mal 3 Stückchen Fleisch wurde man nicht satt und zu teuer. Toiletten steht Schild 1 Euro, allerdings Bedienung an der Theke ansprechen gibt Marken an Gäste für den Automaten.

Unfortunately a very negative first impression of Leipzig. We just wanted something quick to eat and the two of us sat down at a large table for 10 (because of the shade). We were quickly driven away with the message that all 8 (!) large tables were reserved for groups that could (possibly) still come .When I objected that we would definitely be gone very quickly, the answer came: "Do you want to explain my work to me now? It's up to us who we serve in our house!". We then preferred to leave straight away! Very unprofessional and not normal. The Thüringer Hof restaurant showed us how to do it much better. Her answer is then directly debunking (capitalization, "it's not").Customer service is obviously not her thing! And mutual respect was not possible at all...when asked whether you could go to the big table as an exception can put in the shade, came the impudent answer. their experienced service staff. If you read the other negative comments, this is obviously not an isolated case. Good luck anyway, they'll need it.

Right next to the Nikoleikirche we were able to eat well and end the evening.

The food was super tasty. We had the duck and the pork fillet and both were excellent. The staff, led by the boss, was totally friendly, just like the boss herself. The outdoor seating area is nicely done and despite its location right next to the St. Nicholas Church, it is not unpleasantly noisy from passers-by. We would also like to thank you for the extra effort to decorate our table for our wedding day. We were definitely happy and satisfied.

Unfreundliche Bedienung. Toilette 1 € wurde von der Inhaberin nicht erstattet weil ich nicht beweisen konnte , das ich die Toilette benutzt hatte. Ich hatte sie von einer Mitarbeiterin öffnen lassen, weil sie nach 12:00 Uhr noch verschlossen war. Besser eine andere Lokalität wählen.

Mooie locatie met historische betekenis (Gymnasium waar o.m. Wagner heeft gestudeerd. Fijne sfeer, vriendelijke bediening. Snelle service. Fantastische maaltijd genoten!

The best dinner I had during my stay in Leipzig, very tasty and filling. They have an English menu for the tourists with poor German skills.

We stopped there at lunchtime during the city festival because we actually just wanted to have a drink there. Well, a fries came with it.😉 It was really nice there. The service was so nice and funny and the value for money was simply unsurpassed. What I would like to emphasize: there is a lot of emphasis here on regionality and seasonality ❤️

Wir waren mit 9 Personen im Restaurant und waren recht zufrieden mit Bedienung und den Speisen - solide Brauhausküche. Portionen ordentlich, Preise passend. Einziger Wermutstropfen war die mehr als unglückliche Reaktion der Serviceleiterin auf eine Reklamation einer Speise. Statt ein einfaches "wir bedauern", kamen langatmige Erklärungen, warum es denn passiert und dass es eigentlich nicht so schlimm sei. Fehler passieren überall, da muss man als Dienstleister souverän bleiben. Für uns war dieser Redeschwall leider der Stimmungskiller an dem Abend.

Leider können wir die unfreundliche Art am Telefon nur bestätigen. Wir wollten telefonisch einen Tisch bestellen. So unfreundlich wurde ich tatsächlich noch nie abgewiesen. Tisch gibt's nicht und Tschüss. Da hat man keine Lust mehr das Restaurant zu besuchen.

Well, I was there once with a family friend. Won't go there again. The food was ok, the service was even worse. We were treated somewhat condescendingly. When we went to have the children's leftovers packed up, the waitress said this wasn't common practice in this restaurant. Only when I made my displeasure known was the food packed. If I pay an average of 25 euros for a meal, I can probably expect to take the leftovers with me.

We were there on a Saturday afternoon, in the café when the weather was good. The cake was small and expensive for €6.10 with cream and not even good. An outrage. Topped only by the unfriendly innkeeper ever. When we "stole" two chairs from the neighboring table after politely asking, we were reprimanded imperiously and condescendingly through half the coffee: "The chairs stay where they are!" When politely pointed out, you could also say that nicely, the sentence was included repeated even more emphatically. A tourist rip-off - never again! If we could, we would give 0 stars... And if the answer is that the guest did not behave in a hospitable manner and the excuse is an escape route, almost everything has been said: the fact is, it is neither about access (keyword: bordering the place with flower pots!!!) nor about an escape route, but only um: used chairs (i.e. paid seats) versus tables. Like I said: rip off. Because we had ordered and would have ordered 8 of us. The only person who was unfriendly was the host, because we had already asked the staff beforehand and therefore asked for unused chairs at the neighboring table... Conclusion after answer: All the excuses, doubly pathetic.

Friendly, unobtrusive service, relaxed atmosphere with comfortable outdoor seating. Delicious food. There is a good selection of savory and sweet treats for both large and small appetites. The dishes were well seasoned. Cruets on the tables leave nothing to be desired - there's even Worchester sauce! Delicious drinks including homemade lemonades. We were happy twice!

Leider schon beim Versuch der Reservierung unfreundlich abgefertigt worden. Reservierung über die Internetseite funktioniert nicht. Telefonisch wurde - nach Abfrage der Reservierungsdaten - unfreundlich darauf verwiesen, dass September noch lange hin sei und man eine Reservierung per Mail durchführen soll. Wir haben den Tipp des Restaurants "wenn uns das nicht passt, könnten wir es woanders versuchen" befolgt ...

In een vol restaurant toch een plekje kunnen krijgen. We werden heel vriendelijk bediend. Veel keuze, ook seizoensopties. Eten was erg smakelijk.

Benehmen sucht man Vergebens beim dortigen Personal. Der Kunde wird in Form einer Massenabfertigung auch gerne mal angemotzt, weil "so viel zu tun" sei. Wer keine Kunden langfristig binden will, der hat wohl schon.

Service and atmosphere very nice, but the "Austria" schnitzel had a special cinnamon note that unfortunately, in my opinion, doesn't go with a schnitzel.

The very rough reception was made up for by great service staff. Unfortunately, my duck breast was done, but not dry, but the skin was limp. And some beans were woody. The sauce was great, but it could have been more. The food came super quickly, unfortunately too quickly for us as the bottle of champagne we ordered wasn't even there yet. The atmosphere is really nice, but you have to be sure-footed. Update after reply from the restaurant: I did mention the woody beans and since I don't want to spend another half hour discussing possible abnormalities, I'll basically only say something about one thing. I rewarded the fact that the food was delicious and the staff was great with a decent tip.

We fell upon this place looking for somewhere to eat and fortune smiled down on us. The service was fast and friendly (family owned and operated), and the food was fabulous. Prices were perfect. I think reservations are preferred, but they were able to slide us in on a busy Christmas Market evening, and we're so grateful they did. You won't find a better meal in Leipzig.

The service is simply top notch: explains dishes with a background of history, while being super friendly and warm. The food: as you can see in the picture, it's beautifully prepared - and it tastes good too! Drinks came quickly, attentive when it was dry. The prices are a bit high but this is city pedestrian zone...

Dear guesthouse team, I'm still excited. I've often walked past while strolling in Leipzig and finally stopped by last weekend. Luckily, without pre-ordering, there was still a 'table for two' on Saturday evening. The reception and service was very friendly, warm and accommodating, which continued throughout the evening. Always attentive and concerned about the well-being of the guest. And now to the other highlight: the food. It was extremely tasty. For a long time I have missed what this restaurant conjured up on the plate. Here we cook with love and you can taste it. NO ready-made food from the hot air oven or weighed ingredients stirred together in the pot. Hearty, down-to-earth home cooking is served with joy. Rustic atmosphere where it's fun to go out to eat. You haven't seen the last of me, because I want to try the other dishes too. A visit that made you happy, full and satisfied and is recommended. Keep it up and thank you very much for that!!! Were in Leipzig yesterday and were looking for a restaurant with good German, home-style food. We passed the restaurant at lunchtime and were able to reserve a table for the evening without any problems. The food was very tasty and you didn't have to wait long, the service was very nice. Sehr voll, essen wirklich gut mit super netter Bedienung.

Rustikale Einrichtungen, im Winter etwas frisch in dem Raum und nicht ganz angenehm beim Essen. Gänsebrust mit Rotkraut und Klöße waren leider nur lauwarm, Geschmacklich sonst gut abgestimmt. Service freundlich und nett. Befindet sich im Zentrum neben der Nikolaikirche und damit sid direkt keine Parkplätze vorhanden. Beim Gang auf die Toilette sollte beim Personal erst gefragt werden da sonst 1 Euro fällig wird, da es aucheine öffentliche Toilette ist.

Für Toilette im Keller ist 1 Euro zu zahlen

Gänse- und Entenbrust wäre sehr Bissfest und trocken, schade, so etwas muss nicht sein

Achtung - Zahlung nur bar oder mit deutscher EC-Karte möglich. Internationale Debit- und Kreditkarten werden nicht akzeptiert. Das Essen fanden wir gut. Sehr traditionelle Küche. Schmeckt wie bei Mutti.

Ein gemütliches klassisches Gasthaus in einem Sehr schönen Ambiente. Mit freundlicher Bedienung und einem fabelhaften gutem Essen. Von mir eine klare Empfelung für alle die auf gute bürgerliche Küche stehen!

Wir waren zum Weihnachtsessen mit der Familie da. An sich ist das Gasthaus eine schöne Räumlichkeit. Was dann "die Suppe versalzt", ist die Erwartungshaltung an das Lokal bei Betrachtung des Preisniveaus. Die Tische sind sehr schlicht, Stühle ungepolstert und folglich schnell unbequem. Die Tischdeko bestand aus billigen und dreckigen Batteriekerzen. Allgemein wirkte das Ambiente dadurch ein wenig kühl. Der Service war stets bemüht. Essen und Getränke wurden nach Bestellung zügig gebracht, allerdings war die Kommunikation mit nahezu allen Servicekräften (bis auf einer) aufgrund rudimentärer Sprachkenntnisse des Personals schwierig. Grundprinzipien der Bedienung, wie z.B. Essen und Getränke werden nicht quer über den Tisch gerreicht und am Besten noch durch alle Hände gegeben, werden kaum umgesetzt. Kommen wir zum Essen. Eine grundsolide und gut bürgerliche Speisekarte zu halt doch etwas höheren Preisen als im Gasthof nebenan.... Das Essen war gut, nur meine Frau hatte Pech mit ihrem Essen (Ente schlecht ausgelöst, zäh, schlecht zubereitet; Soljanka war eher eine Gulaschsuppe mit Wursteinlage). Die Erwartung wurde an sich nicht ganz erfüllt, da die Portionen zu den Preisen fast zu klein waren. Bei zwei von drei Fischgerichten am Tisch wurde man den Eindruck nicht los, dass es sich um wirklich einfachste TK-Ware handelte.

Einfach authentisch, hier fließt Herzblut und das merkt man als Gast. Die Gerichte sind sehr lecker,der Service sehr freundlich und schnell. Wir waren bei jedem Leipzig Besuch hier und das wird so bleiben!

Spitzen Gasthaus, sehr leckeres und heißes essen. Die Rinderroulade war erste Sahne wie bei Oma und das rotkraut war genau so spitze, hat geschmeckt und sah auch so aus wie selbstgemacht. Die kräftige dunkle Soße noch dazu war geschmacklich einwandfrei. Die soljanka war gut aber hat etwas an dickem gefehlt. Wenn Rinder roulade dann hier. Weiter so!

Sehr freundliches Wirtspaar und flinke Bedienungen. Auch ohne Reservierung ist es möglich dort zu essen. Bestellungen wurden schnell aufgenommen und wir mussten nicht lange auf Getränke oder Essen warten,obwohl es sehr voll war. Das Essensangebot ist vielseitig und alles war sehr lecker.

Auf eine Empfehlung hier gegessen und es hat sich gelohnt. Die Rinderroulade ist sehr zu empfehlen und die Essensauswahl ist umfangreich. Zusätzlich gibt es anscheinend eine Saisonale Karte und Tagesempfehlungen. Die Getränkeauswahl ist gut und Bedienung freundlich und aufmerksam.

Hotel okay nur leider war das Zimmer sehr kühl

Wir waren an einem Donnerstag abends da. Wir hatten zu Glück reserviert, das klappte super - mit einer sms Bestätigung - denn es war alles voll besetzt. Der Service war flott und lustig, Danke vor allem an Heike, und das Essen war richtig richtig gut, alles selbst gekocht und das schmeckte man. Und ich habe zum ersten Mal Leipziger Gose getrunken, außergewöhnlich, sehr gut verträglich und mit biologischer Milchsäure wohl gesund 😅

Spontan nach kurzer Wartezeit noch einen Platz ergattert. Besser, man reserviert vor. Nette Bedienung. Das Essen war lecker.

Nach langer Zeit hatte ich Lust auf Pfifferlinge,denn damit lockten das Restaurant,leider waren alle Gerichte mit Rahm und Kümmel,so dass ich verzichten, bestellt habe ich eine Bouillon vom Tafelspizz,der Geschmack ließ sich iim verwãsserte Zustand nocht ausmachen,fad uns lamgweilig, Aber der Karpfen hat mich versõhnt. Das Servicepersonal ist sehr eifrig,das Preisleistungsverhältnis ist in Ordnung, aber noch mal muss das nicht sein. Schade

We ate outside on a warm July night. Service as other reviews have said was pretty slow. Now I understand that the local scene likes to linger and enjoy the meal and so do I so it wasn't about that. It was hard to get attention to order more drinks, dessert or pay. The ambience is really nice and the restaurant itself looks very traditional. The food was okay but I wouldn't go out of my way to return there.

Bin hier mit meinem alten Schulfreund der schon viele Jahre in Leipzig wohnt hier zum Mittagessen eingekehrt. Hatten eine super Kellnerin auch mal paar persönliche Worte, der Gulasch mit Kößen war eine Wucht in Tüten auch das Rotkraut und die Köße waren Spitze. Hatte Urkostritzer vom Fass aus einem Steintonhumpen was will man als Gast mehr.

Wir hatten das Glück, trotz eines sehr kurzfristigen Reservierungswunsches, am zweiten Weihnachtsfeiertag um 13:00 Uhr noch einen Tisch für vier Personen reservieren zu können. Herr Reinhardt nahm sich am Telefon die Zeit, mich ausführlich zu beraten, und meine Reservierung zu bestätigen. Später wurde meine Reservierung noch einmal per SMS bestätigt mit der Option, weitere Wünsche bezüglich Anlass der Reservierung und Präferenzen zu schreiben - ein sehr hilfreiches Feature! Einen Tag vor der Reservierung wurde eine weitere SMS geschickt mit der Bitte, dem Restaurant die Reservierung nochmals zu bestätigen oder diese unkompliziert per SMS - Antwort abzusagen. Dieses ist ebenfalls sehr sinnvoll - viele Restaurants leiden unter extrem kurzfristigen Absagen von Gästen, und Tische bleiben leer, weil in der Kürze der Zeit keine neuen Gäste akquiriert werden können. Am Tag unseres Restaurantbesuchs wurden wir an der Tür von Herrn Reinhardt persönlich empfangen und zum Tisch geführt. Die von mir zuvor geäußerten Präferenzen bezüglich der Lage des Tisches waren berücksichtigt worden, und wir konnten zu viert nahezu ungestört zwei schöne Stunden im Restaurant verbringen, uns unterhalten und hervorragend speisen. Frau Reinhardt, sowie die weiteren Servicemitarbeiter verstanden es bestens, unsere Bestellungen dezent und zeitnah aufzunehmen, und immer zur richtigen Zeit am Tisch zu sein, wenn wir weitere Getränke bzw. das Dessert bestellen wollten. Trotz ausgebuchtem Restaurant geschah dieses ohne Hektik, freundlich, und immer mit einem Lächeln. Das Essen selbst - wir hatten die Roulade und die Gänsebrust gewählt - jeweils mit Rotkohl und kleinen Klößen - war absolut Spitze. Die Klöße auf den Punkt gekocht, der Rotkohl vermutlich selbst geschnitten und wie von Oma gekocht, die Gänsebrust, die Roulade und die jeweiligen Saucen - ein Gedicht! Wir haben in Restaurants (vorwiegend in Berlin) in der Vergangenheit so viele enttäuschende Weihnachtsessen ertragen, mit verkochtem Rotkohl, laberigen Klößen, und trockenem Geflügel - dieser Restaurantbesuch bei Familie Reinhardt hat uns für alle vergangenen Erfahrungen entschädigt. Vielen herzlichen Dank - Sie sind wunderbare Gastgeber! Beim nächsten Mal werden wir rechtzeitig reservieren, denn gerne kommen wir wieder zu Ihnen.

Nette, zuvorkommende Bedienung und sehr leckeres Essen! Das Restaurant benötigt wir mit unserer 5 jähriger Tochter besucht und waren positiv überrascht! Die kleine hat gleich am Anfang bunte Stifte und KinderMenü zum ausmalen bekommen, also konnten wir in Ruhe das Essen aussuchen, bestellen und Essen 😉 Geschmeckt hat es hervorragend!

Begeisterung auf ganzer Linie. Das Essen war ein Hochgenuss .Die Entenbrust außen megaknusprig, inne rosa und zart. Kartoffel Bällchen Rosenkohl und Soße jede Komponente in sich megalecker, zusammen der Wahnsinn. Habe schon lange nicht mehr auswärts so gut gegessen. Großes Lob an das gesamte Team. Zuvorkommend nett schnell. Toll.

Schönes kleines Restaurant mit teilweise sächsischer Küche. Es wurde nett bedient, Essen war gut. Preise sind in Ordnung.

Danke, dass wir Gast sein durften. Danke an das Küchenteam für sehr gutes Essen. Danke an das Serviceteam, das bei allem Trubel immer freundlich und humorvoll geblieben ist. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder und empfehlen das Restaurant gerne weiter.

Beim Stromern durch die Altstadt sind wir auf Reinhardts Gasthaus durch Zufall aufmerksam geworden und hatten noch Glück, dass überhaupt ein Tisch frei war. Die Einrichtung ist urig, der Service sehr freundlich und aufmerksam und die Speisen sind sehr lecker. Das Ganze gibt es zu fairen Preisen. Empfehlenswert.

Der Service war freundlich aber wenig bemüht. Irgendwie habe ich den Eindruck es wird hier mit Convenience-Produkten gearbeitet, denn geschmacklich erinnerte es an Großküche. Das Lokal selbst hat kein Ambiente, es dudelte leise Friedhofsmusik aus dem Lautsprecher.

I came here mainly to get out of the rain and visit the restrooms... And out of common courtesy I huddled under one of the umbrellas and ordered an iced coffee. Service was, nonetheless friendly and efficient. In fact, I had a little longer to sup my drink and do some essential people watching until the other members of my party found me and we continued our rapid tour of this old East German city.

The "Allerlei" sounds tempting: "The best of forest, water and field: crayfish tails, young vegetables, morels, crayfish butter..." What I got was quite sad: five miniature shrimps sold to me as scampi. They were out of crayfish tails, I was told. The shrimps were super small and tasted like nothing. They were roasted, cooked in garlic butter or tartet in any way. Eventually I got the bill and got charged and 0,90 Euro for "the kitchen's effort". Honestly? I won't eat here again.

We thought this looked like a traditional German pub but found it rather touristy and ordinary. Food was tasteless and unexciting.
