Visited 3 times on vacation. All dishes tasted excellent. If you have something to complain about it would be the large portions. Which we barely managed. Remaining items were offered.

The best Maultaschen I have ever eaten. And I come from Augsburg. Unique👍🏻

05/09/25 Beautiful restaurant centrally located in Überlingen. The food was good, unfortunately my onion roast was significantly thinner than the others at the table, which is why it was already too well done. Nevertheless we would come again!

Rustic, home cooking, full plates! We had a very nice evening at Reiners Schäpfle. The food was very tasty and the plates were full. If you're hungry, you'll definitely get full here. The quality of the food was also very good. The waitresses are very nice on site and on the phone. All in all, Reiners Schäpfle can be highly recommended.

Reiner's Schäpfle is an absolute gem! As soon as you enter you can tell that there is passion here. The atmosphere is cozy and tasteful - you immediately feel at home. The menu offers a great selection of regional and seasonal dishes, creatively interpreted and prepared with great attention to detail. Every dish we tried was a hit – tasted great, beautifully presented and seasoned to perfection. We were particularly impressed by the warm service: attentive, friendly and personal without being intrusive. A real highlight for connoisseurs - we will definitely come back and recommend Reiners Schäpfle without reservation!

Mega restaurant! Super friendly and lovely staff! Super delicious food and great rustic atmosphere! Can only be recommended through and through! I ate there with my wife and my 10-month-old son (very child-friendly!!!) and was thoroughly pampered. :)

Four of us ate here with friends, spontaneously without calling or making a reservation. We were lucky, last table which speaks for the restaurant. The restaurant is barrier-free and is located one street behind the Überlingen promenade. There is also the option to eat outside in front of the restaurant. The food is very tasty, lovingly prepared, modern and the portions are large. The eye can easily eat here. There are also dishes on the menu for vegetarians. The selection of drinks is also very good, from non-alcoholic to cocktails. We will happily eat here again when we are in Überlingen, we were all satisfied.

Entrance area not very attractive. But if you open the old door, there is a gem behind it. Good food, reasonable price-performance ratio, somewhat quiet but also rustic service. Conclusion: Go and let yourself be pampered.

A very nice, rustic restaurant, the food was really good and the service was very attentive. When I asked if I could have potatoes instead of pasta because I was intolerant to wheat, she wanted to tell the kitchen because it was mottled. Great service

We were very lucky to be able to just walk into the restaurant without a reservation on Easter Sunday and get a table. The service, the ambience and the food were all perfect and the price-performance ratio was really impressive. We'll definitely be back 😊

My wife and I stopped at the restaurant after a walk on the promenade and were thrilled. The food (we had a Wiener Schnitzel and pork medallions with cheese spaetzle) was incredibly tasty, the service was very friendly - we were allowed to charge our cell phone - and the rustic but bright decor creates a cozy atmosphere. Absolute recommendation!

We were there for coffee and cake. There's nothing wrong with that. The cake was great. Also friendly staff and good service. We only deduct one point for the service, as you cannot pay with the card for amounts under €20. This should also be possible for two coffees and two cakes.

We have been to this restaurant several times now and can absolutely recommend it. Starting with the warmest welcome, first-class service and a chef who deserves the title "WORLD CLASS". We come from Dresden and will definitely be guests at the Schöpfle again when we visit our relatives in Überlingen.

I had wild garlic cheese spaetzle, which was very tasty, but the pork loin with cheese spaetzle and sauce was also highly recommended. Gladly again.

The other day, we visited Überlingen. After a lovely walk by the lake, we decided to find a place to eat. I searched nearby and found this charming restaurant just a three-minute walk from the lake. It’s located in a small, picturesque lane. We sat outside and placed our orders for food and drinks. The service was warm and welcoming, and the food was even better—comforting, flavorful, and truly delicious. We didn’t order much in terms of starters, thinking we might not be able to finish everything, but later I found myself wondering if that was the right choice. I assumed the portions would be just enough to satisfy us, but to our pleasant surprise, the food was plentiful, incredibly tasty, and reasonably priced. I’d definitely go back again.

We had the roast beef with onions and the wild garlic cheese spaetzle. The side salad was a colorful mix with two types of bread and a fantastic dressing. The meat was cooked to perfection and very tender, the spaetzle were excellent, and the jus had a strong flavor. The cheese spaetzle had a great consistency and were perfectly seasoned. The homemade fried onions rounded off both dishes. Definitely recommended.

We came across the restaurant based on other reviews and I can only agree. Everyone enjoyed the food, from vegetarian to meat and fish dishes to dessert. The service was very friendly, the prices are reasonable. I can recommend a visit here to everyone. ADDITION: We went there again today based on the experience, but were unfortunately disappointed. The meat for the onion roast was stringy for everyone and the Kässpätzle (which costs €3.50 extra) were spaetzle with cheese sauce on top. Maybe the chef was having a bad day. But accordingly I can no longer recommend this restaurant without reservation. We will try it again and hope for better quality again.

We had booked a family dinner (12 people) with my mother-in-law because we all come from other parts of the lake. The three of us arrived by bike (the table was reserved for 12 p.m.) at 11:46 and wanted to go to the dining room to change in the toilet. It was cold and rainy. Unfortunately, we were not allowed to enter yet with the information that we still had to stock up (according to the homepage, the opening time is from 11 a.m.). When we asked whether our 13-year-old son actually had to change in the cold, we answered with the comment, "We say when it will open, just like Lidl and a bank also determine it." "They have reserved for 12 p.m. so they won't come in until 12 p.m." 5 minutes later other guests were allowed to enter. I actually don't understand such service ideas in our time. When I said I would write a review I was accused of insulting them. What kind of complaint behavior is this? A “sorry things turned out that way” would have been so helpful. The food was ok so far, the onion roast was unfortunately very stringy on four plates. The rest was good. The service was quick. The prices are also okay for Lake Constance. It's a shame, last time we were welcomed more warmly and the food was better too. I would have liked to have given a better rating.

Essen hat uns nicht überzeugt. Kretzer Teller Fisch zu wässrig. Rehvolution Teller bestand aus Sehnen und Flachs … Leider hat’s uns nicht geschmeckt.

Hmmm... it didn't work out this time... we were looking forward to a nice evening with good food. The name “Reiner Schäpfle” promises more than the whole thing really is. The fish (Kretzer) was totally watered down and then fried. Actually it didn't taste like anything, the venison ragout was flaxy.

We were there at the end of December and the dining room wasn't heated enough for us. Unfortunately the lack of heat continued with the food. Unfortunately, the beef roulade with dumplings and red cabbage wasn't really hot. And the plate was not preheated but ice cold. The food tasted very good and the service was also good. What I don't understand is when the waitress asks after the meal if everything was OK? You should actually ask the question shortly after serving, because then you can change something.

We were there today for coffee and cake. The menu in front of the door really appealed to us because it said homemade cake. We asked for a table for 2 people and were friendly shown to a table. The cappuccino was very good and the cheesecake and apple strudel were homemade as described and very tasty. We will definitely visit the restaurant again next time

Tolles Ambiente, freundlicher und zügiger Service, vernünftige Preisgestaltung, leckeres Essen - ABER: wir haben einen Vorspeisensalat bestellt und wollten diesen in Ruhe geniessen. Nix damit - 5 Minuten nach dem Salat kam die Hauptspeise. Hierbei gibt es noch Potential nach oben. Trotzdem vielen Dank - wir haben uns wohlgefühlt.

The Reiners Schäpfle in Überlingen offers a very relaxed, family atmosphere with traditional furnishings that ensure coziness. We chose two starters and the venison ragout and Tafelspitz as main courses, with a glass of Riesling and Pinot Noir. The quality of the food was good and the dishes were very tasty. The portions were generous and really filling - you definitely get something for your money here. The service was also very pleasant. The waitresses were attentive, orders were taken quickly, and dishes came to the table quickly. The value for money is good and reasonable as the prices reflect the quality of the food. Overall, a recommended restaurant for anyone who wants to enjoy traditional, hearty cuisine in a relaxed atmosphere.

One of the best restaurants in Überlingen. Swabian/German cuisine at its finest. It's best to make a reservation as it's very busy. I ordered the venison ragout and it was great. Everything seems to be going well as everyone at our table was very happy.

Great restaurant, but you should reserve in advance.

There were six of us, 2 children and 4 adults, for lunch on a Saturday in the fall. Everyone enjoyed the food very much, there was a pleasant, cozy rustic atmosphere (but not dusty) and friendly service. It was a good fit for all age groups and we would definitely come back. Prices okay.

Unfortunately I live somewhere else, otherwise I would eat here regularly and try everything out. I had cheese sparrows with salad and it was simply delicious. Unfortunately, restaurants like this are very rare. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. It's fun to spend time here. Like the other reviews, I can particularly emphasize the freshness of the salad. Big compliments to the kitchen!

A wonderful restaurant with excellent Swabian cuisine and very friendly service. I ate the Maultaschen with potato salad and salad and it was a poem. I would love to come back because there are still so many delicacies on the menu.

Chic restaurant but you should make a reservation in the evening. We were lucky that they still accommodated us. Unfortunately the sauerbraten wasn't to my taste but tastes are different

Normally you can have really good food here. Yesterday I had it Pork loin with chanterelles. Tasted good, only the portion was very little a small loin, where there are normally 3 loins on the plate. The whole thing for a price of €26.50 is not possible. When I go out to eat, I also want to be full When I asked why there was only one loin on the plate, the only answer I got was that it was always like that in the chanterelle season. Very weak answer.

Was there this evening. I had pork medallions wrapped in bacon with mushrooms and cheese spaetzle. It tasted super delicious. I haven't eaten so well in a long time. Absolutely recommended.

If you want to eat very well, you've come to the right place! The turkey slices, which I treated myself to, were very tasty. My wife raved about the salad with chanterelles. Very friendly and excellent service, courteous and not intrusive. We were here on August 24th, 2024 in the best weather and sat at the first table outside on the right as you walk towards the lake. The ambience outside and inside is very well maintained. Not to forget the very clean toilets. We would love to come back! My recommendation: "Treat yourself, here you can smooth out your wrinkles with pleasure"

Absolutely fantastic meal from the salad to the main to the dessert. It was just perfect. Great location, especially if you can get outside in the summer inside is stunning but I feel like it’s more for a rainy day or the winter. Can’t recommend enough.

We ordered Maultäschle with melted onions, potato salad and a salad garnish. The Maultäschle were O.K. As for the potato salad, I'm not sure if it was homemade. I've had better ones elsewhere. I found it very disappointing that the Maultäschle were garnished with fried onions from the deep fryer. Then the card cannot contain melting onions.

Tasty food, very courteous service, romantic little alley with a view of the lake and comfortable chairs. Food is also very visually appealing, decent portions, very good value for money. Fish fillet very well prepared, tender and tasty.

We found that it was not possible to book an outside table in advance when we called in earlier in the day. We went again at about 7 o'clock and some guests were just leaving so we were able to get a table outside. The inside is quite spacious but on a warm summer's evening we hoped to sit outside. It was frustrating to find that the food here was first rate but the service was not. We ordered a bottle of water which never came. I ordered a second beer but by the time it arrived I had almost finished my meal. When it came to paying I had to ask a few times. I did not leave a tip. The food, however was one one of the best meals I have had in Überlingen. I had Felchen (a white fish that I had come across before) with almonds, parsley potatoes and salad. Germans always celebrate seasonal food and so my wife had salad with Pfifferlinge (chanterelles) from the Pfifferling menu. Both were excellent. If only the service had matched the quality of the food.

Freundliches Personal. Recht gute Suppe von Pfifferlingen. Maultaschen schmecken nach wenig, sind unter riesigen Bergen von Salat begraben, was sich nicht besser macht.

Went there for dinner and everything was great. The service was very friendly, the drinks and food came relatively quickly and tasted great, it was even beautifully prepared, the fries were home-made, something you can't get everywhere. Definitely come back, because we go to Lake Constance almost every year. Price performance 👍 Definitely recommended.

Went there for lunch today, sat outside in a nice, quiet alley, got a mixed salad as a starter, it was very fresh and crunchy! For the main course, onion roast with cheese spaetzle, I had the fine pike-perch with chanterelle cream sauce, with mega fine fries. Everything was super fine and fresh. Highly recommended! No matter what you ordered, whether fish, asparagus, spaetzle or schnitzel, every meal was served fresh with a friendly smile. Everything aesthetically and tasty prepared. We spontaneously went to the restaurant for dinner on Sunday evening. We didn't have a reservation. Even though there were free tables, we were basically thrown out. The manner was an absolute disgrace. Not even a 'hello', let alone a 'sorry'. Of course, a restaurant can be fully reserved and the staff can be stressed. But then you just say politely that there are no tables left and everything is fine. Maybe it was because we had a wheelchair user and a small child in a stroller with us. I don't know it. We definitely won't be coming back!

Wir waren zu viert im Urlaub am Bodensee und haben im Restaurant zu Abend gegessen. Das Essen ist lecker und die Portionen sind fair. Alle waren zufrieden. Ich hatte noch einen Kuchen und den Kaffee. Beides war prima.

It just fits, in a good, home-style way, like when we used to visit Schäpfle as hotel guests (Rainer as head chef). We would love to come back and are happy that kitchen traditions are still being maintained.

Unfortunately it was not a good choice. The staff didn’t respect my food allergies and refuses to change the food trying to convince me that the food is ok. It was not. Never ever again.

Very nice atmosphere, with fresh flowers at the table and rustic elements as well as bourgeois furnishings with great accessories... Very nice welcome that immediately makes you feel at home. The service was really super good. All the food we ordered came absolutely freshly prepared and in a really reasonable time. The asparagus cream soup was incredibly tasty and had a lot of asparagus in it and was really worth the money! For the main course, the children had schnitzel with fries. The portion was still very large for a child of 6 years. The schnitzel was made from turkey, fried golden in butter with golden steakhouse fries. Incredibly perfectly fried. The main course for the adults was “Reiners Renner”, pork medallions wrapped in bacon with cheese pätzle, cream sauce and a bucket of Champion with carrot and leek Jullien. What can you say? We were not only surprised, but incredibly perplexed that in a "good middle-class restaurant" the food was very upscale and of high quality. The portion is really for good eaters. The pork tenderloin was wrapped in bacon. This was neither oversalted nor greasy. These pork medallions were cooked to perfection, i.e. the meat was still delicately pink and therefore naturally melted in the mouth, something no one would have expected. You are not used to such quality of cuisine in such a pleasant price segment. The sauce wasn't overbearingly "creamy" but rather a pleasant gravy with a dash of "cream" and great "cognac" added to the taste. The mushroom bucket was incredibly freshly prepared and so light and summery. All in all you have to say, star chef for the “little citizen”! MEGA, please keep it up! This is where the craft is understood.

Very bad service, as well as the food, we ordered onion roast beef and the cream schnitzel, we asked the waitress whether it was possible to get the cream schnitzel without mushrooms, the waitress said she would just clarify it with the chef! After 20 minutes the food with mushrooms came, when I said we ordered it without mushrooms, the waitress said very cheekily, you have to tell me, I thought there was a hidden camera here somewhere. The onion roast is not Swabian! It came with fried onions, which just doesn't go well with it! We won't eat here again but the worst thing is the service is not good and very rude

Leider hat uns das Wetter am Bodensee einen Streich gespielt. Es war sehr kalt und windig. Beim Besuch des Restaurant Reiners Schäpfle wurde uns aber wieder warm ums Herz. Sehr freundliche Bedienung und ausgezeichnete Küche. Man kann dieses Restaurant nur empfehlen.
