Wonderful Restaurant in a well tucked away part of Überlingen, where we had a hard time finding the entrance, at first we thought the door was locked but it turned out it just is hard to open. We had the pork tenderloin and the saisonal duck which both were just perfect. Really nice service was just the icing on the cake.

Very good food, friendly bed and a good atmosphere... more to come. Tasty meals, beautifully served, friendly service, also speaking Polish. Thank you very much.

The service was excellent and the food was very delicious.

A large restaurant with pleasantly divided seating and attractive table decorations, along with music playing so you can't hear the people sitting next to you. Very attentive service, who repeatedly checked to see if everything was okay and provided valuable information about the food and wine. Pork medallions with mushrooms and spaetzle were very tasty and the meat was succulent. Pike-perch fillet with al dente vegetables and parsley potatoes was very tasty, with hardly any bones and well-seasoned.

We had a truly wonderful evening at Reiners Schäpfle and were thoroughly impressed. The ambiance is wonderful. The restaurant is located in a quiet side street near Überlingen's lake promenade. You can immediately tell that they value a relaxed atmosphere, far from the hustle and bustle. It was a bit hectic at first because the kitchen was apparently already closed at 8:00 PM. Nevertheless, we were still able to order something, as we Swiss are quick to make decisions. The cuisine impresses with its regionality and craftsmanship. The dishes are traditional, seasonal German cuisine, lovingly prepared. We particularly appreciated the freshness of the ingredients and the presentation of the dishes – you can see and taste the care taken here. The roast beef with onions and spaetzle is highly recommended. The service and hospitality were also excellent. Friendly, attentive, and with genuine passion for the guest. This kind of service rounds off the experience and makes the visit something special. In short: If you're looking for good food in a cozy atmosphere, with regional influences and a touch of individuality, Reiners Schäpfle is the place to be. We'd be happy to return and highly recommend it.

Simply outstanding. We visited Schäpfle for the first time today on a recommendation and were impressed. Super delicious food, beautifully presented, with excellent flavor and fresh ingredients. The cooking here is done with love, and you can taste it. Plus, the atmosphere is fantastic and the noise level is pleasant despite the many tables. The value for money is absolutely reasonable, and the staff is very friendly. Highly recommended.

Two visits in two weeks reflect the high quality of this restaurant. The dishes here are very well-balanced in terms of flavor, with good service both inside and outside, and a pleasant atmosphere. The ragout had a delicate note of game and the spices that complemented it, without any one component being too overpowering. The chanterelle mushrooms on the salad had a great consistency. However, there was no choice of dressing. The pork loin with chanterelle mushrooms was cooked to perfection. Only the spaetzle lacked flavor; they were firm enough. Both the white wine sauce for the loin and the goulash had a very good consistency. The draft beers are highly recommended.

The portions are very large, but the taste can only be described as okay to good. Nothing really special. Perhaps our expectations were too high, given the very good reviews.

"The worst of it" - that's how the waitress treated us today. We ordered an appetizer and a main course. The soup was good and came quickly. Since we were there with a toddler, we didn't pay much attention to the clock; they keep the child occupied so that he or she is satisfied. I walked in circles with my son, all the employees walked past me, and no one noticed that we had been waiting over 30-40 minutes for our food. At some point, I noticed that guests who had arrived after us had already received their food. I then politely asked if we had been forgotten. I got no answer. The young brown-haired lady arrived in 20 minutes. It will take another 5 minutes – it actually took 10 minutes or more, but we'll see what happens next. My schnitzel tasted good, but you have to eat with your eyes – unfortunately, the chef doesn't know what's golden. Then it was time to pay – over €70. My husband asked for a discount because we had waited over an hour for the main course. We didn't get a discount, the boss wasn't available to speak, and it was normal to wait that long. I said this loudly enough for several people to hear, "The service is very bad, not even an apology or I'm sorry." A blonde woman of about 60 then asked me what my problem was. I said that we had been waiting for over an hour with a small child and no one had apologized. The ARROGANT woman then said to me several times, "GO HOME AND NEVER COME AGAIN, WE DON'T NEED GUESTS LIKE THAT." I was so speechless that I could only respond in kind and left, as my husband and child were already outside. The employees are random newcomers who have no culture, manners, or professional competence in the catering industry. ZERO STARS.

So cozy and the food was great. Friendly service. We'd gladly come back!

A full 5 stars for this restaurant. We've been there five times this year and always leave feeling extremely satisfied and full. We've enjoyed a variety of dishes, from the classic pork loin wrapped in bacon to zander fillet and Maultaschen (ravioli), fitness salad, schnitzel, and venison goulash. The service is very friendly and professional. We highly recommend it!

The food is delicious, and the portions are perfectly adequate. The seating is very comfortable. Unfortunately, the server typed in the wrong dish, so I had to wait a little longer for my meal while my husband was already eating. It can happen, but it shouldn't, and I thought it was a bummer.

Drink recommendation: Seemost (fresh fruit juice) if you're looking for something other than wine or beer. No lake view, but the seating is still very pleasant in nice weather. One minor drawback: unfortunately, no reservations for outside seating are possible.

After seeing the mass processing at the restaurants along the lake promenade, we decided to look for a more cozy spot off the beaten track and found what we were looking for at Schäpfle! Here, the food is still fresh and individually prepared, and we were absolutely satisfied with our ordered meals, as well as with the friendly and efficient service! The ambiance is rustic, and you can also sit outside without being overwhelmed by the crowds of tourists.

Yes, I highly recommend this place. Despite the huge crowd of tourists and locals eating there, the food was wonderful; everything was perfect, the vegetables, the meat, and the fish. The white wine recommendation was fantastic, and the staff were always on the go, but still friendly and attentive, and didn't forget anything. The value for money was absolutely spot on. A very, very good restaurant!

The restaurant is located in a lovely side street. We sat outside, and the ambiance was really nice, but you don't get a full view of the lake, which isn't a problem, but that's why I'm only giving it 4 out of 5 stars. The food was truly delicious, and the portion sizes were very reasonable for the price. However, I highly recommend the dessert menu for those who are very hungry. Since everything was excellent, I'll give it 5 out of 5 stars. Regarding the service, I have to say it could be improved. We were "overlooked" several times by the staff in the first 20 minutes, and the service was rather chilly afterward. At the end, we ordered our dessert, and before we even started, we were asked how we wanted to pay. In my opinion, that's completely unacceptable when you can't even finish your meal... Unfortunately, that didn't make the whole evening much more enjoyable, and we felt very pressured to leave as quickly as possible, even though we had eaten and drunk for €70+ (2 people). Therefore, unfortunately, only 3 out of 5 stars overall.

We've been coming from far away and stumbled upon Reiner's Schäpfle by chance. The ambiance is simply super cozy and wonderful. It almost feels like a cozy home. The food was super fresh and flavorful. Our servers were also very helpful and attentive. We'd be happy to come back 😊

We would have loved to eat here, especially since the ambiance was really nice. Unfortunately, we were told that there weren't any tables available for four adults and two children because they don't put tables together. We would have to sit separately – half the tables were empty. At the same time, we noticed that a guest was being asked whether they had decided to eat or whether they should come back in two hours. This immense hospitality prompted us to seek out another restaurant.

Brilliant cuisine! I just ate what were probably the best pork medallions of my life! My wife's curry strips were also very good, as was the elderflower spritzer with mint and lime. Highly recommended!

Even though gluten-free food is offered in other forums, it's no longer possible, and people here aren't interested in it. Here, it's also impossible to prepare a turkey schnitzel without breading. The service also leaves a lot to be desired. The food is actually good.

I was there for dinner. I ordered cream of chanterelle soup, grilled pike-perch fillet, vegetables, and parsley potatoes. Unfortunately, the pike-perch fillet was completely overcooked, and the vegetables were hard, especially the broccoli. It was almost impossible to cut the stalk, let alone chew. The julienne vegetables were more than firm to the bite. The only good thing about this dish were the potatoes, which were sprinkled with parsley. The service also left something to be desired. After the soup, I had to alert the waiter that I wanted another main course. Even when an empty glass was on the table, I had to tell the waiter that I wanted something to drink; the waiter would have seen it and automatically asked for it. When I wanted to pay my bill, the lady at the next table only came over after a five-minute conversation. It's a shame, the restaurant seems cozy.

Unfortunately, we can't comment on the food, as we were already very rudely turned away by the waitress. We also noticed that others were loudly complaining about their unfriendly attitude on the street. Perhaps they should work on improving the friendliness of their service staff if they want customers.

We ended up here by chance. We haven't regretted it! Prices are normal to "a bit expensive." But unlike other restaurants, the portions are very reasonable and filling. The service was excellent! You rarely see that these days!

We were drawn here by the positive reviews. We can only confirm that. We had excellent service, and the food was exceptional. We had fish dishes with asparagus. Everything was prepared with fresh herbs and cooked to perfection. The accompanying side salad also had a truly delicious dressing. That wasn't standard. So it's always worth moving away from the lake every now and then, although you can still see it from here in the lovely, shady alley.

Four of us went there for dinner on our short trip to Lake Constance. We got a table on the terrace right away, even without a reservation. The seating is lovely, surrounded by greenery and a bit off the beaten track. Both the service and the wait times were perfectly fine. The menu is clear and offers a good selection of different – ​​primarily Swabian – dishes. The various dishes, from fish to asparagus, including side dishes, tasted good to very good, and the portions were sufficiently large. The potato salad we ordered separately, however, was a disappointment; in our opinion, it tasted like a convenience product. The price is reasonable, or rather averagely high.

Reiners Schäpfle ist eine Wirtschaft, wie man sie in der Gegend zurecht erwartet. Grundsolide frische Produkte, die perfekt gegart und sehr schön dekoriert serviert werden. Auch geschmacklich der Heimat treu geblieben war der Zwiebelrostbraten sehr gut, der Salatteller "Fischerin" mit Kretzerfilets aus dem See ebenfalls. Das Servicepersonal war freundlich und sehr angenehm. Schade, dass der Hunger nicht mehr für die köstlich aussehende Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte in der Kühlvitrine gereicht hat. So haben wir aber einen weiteren Grund wiederzukommen.

Great atmosphere in the heart of Überlingen's old town. A small beer garden under the vines in front of the house in the alleyway, with a rather historically appropriate interior. Service was excellent and attentive. The only food I can comment on is the Kässpätzle (cheese spaetzle); I would have preferred more cheese (thanks to the kitchen). Prices are reasonable for everything. The Alpirsbacher beer on tap is particularly noteworthy.

No matter what we ordered, whether fish, asparagus, spaetzle, or even schnitzel, every meal was freshly served with a friendly smile. Everything was aesthetically and deliciously prepared.
