The Reiners Schäpfle in Überlingen offers a very relaxed, family atmosphere with traditional furnishings that ensure coziness. We chose two starters and the venison ragout and Tafelspitz as main courses, with a glass of Riesling and Pinot Noir. The quality of the food was good and the dishes were very tasty. The portions were generous and really filling - you definitely get something for your money here. The service was also very pleasant. The waitresses were attentive, orders were taken quickly, and dishes came to the table quickly. The value for money is good and reasonable as the prices reflect the quality of the food. Overall, a recommended restaurant for anyone who wants to enjoy traditional, hearty cuisine in a relaxed atmosphere.

One of the best restaurants in Überlingen. Swabian/German cuisine at its finest. It's best to make a reservation as it's very busy. I ordered the venison ragout and it was great. Everything seems to be going well as everyone at our table was very happy.

Great restaurant, but you should reserve in advance.

There were six of us, 2 children and 4 adults, for lunch on a Saturday in the fall. Everyone enjoyed the food very much, there was a pleasant, cozy rustic atmosphere (but not dusty) and friendly service. It was a good fit for all age groups and we would definitely come back. Prices okay.

Unfortunately I live somewhere else, otherwise I would eat here regularly and try everything out. I had cheese sparrows with salad and it was simply delicious. Unfortunately, restaurants like this are very rare. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. It's fun to spend time here. Like the other reviews, I can particularly emphasize the freshness of the salad. Big compliments to the kitchen!

A wonderful restaurant with excellent Swabian cuisine and very friendly service. I ate the Maultaschen with potato salad and salad and it was a poem. I would love to come back because there are still so many delicacies on the menu.

Normally you can have really good food here. Yesterday I had it Pork loin with chanterelles. Tasted good, only the portion was very little a small loin, where there are normally 3 loins on the plate. The whole thing for a price of €26.50 is not possible. When I go out to eat, I also want to be full When I asked why there was only one loin on the plate, the only answer I got was that it was always like that in the chanterelle season. Very weak answer.

Was there this evening. I had pork medallions wrapped in bacon with mushrooms and cheese spaetzle. It tasted super delicious. I haven't eaten so well in a long time. Absolutely recommended.

If you want to eat very well, you've come to the right place! The turkey slices, which I treated myself to, were very tasty. My wife raved about the salad with chanterelles. Very friendly and excellent service, courteous and not intrusive. We were here on August 24th, 2024 in the best weather and sat at the first table outside on the right as you walk towards the lake. The ambience outside and inside is very well maintained. Not to forget the very clean toilets. We would love to come back! My recommendation: "Treat yourself, here you can smooth out your wrinkles with pleasure"

Absolutely fantastic meal from the salad to the main to the dessert. It was just perfect. Great location, especially if you can get outside in the summer inside is stunning but I feel like it’s more for a rainy day or the winter. Can’t recommend enough.

We ordered Maultäschle with melted onions, potato salad and a salad garnish. The Maultäschle were O.K. As for the potato salad, I'm not sure if it was homemade. I've had better ones elsewhere. I found it very disappointing that the Maultäschle were garnished with fried onions from the deep fryer. Then the card cannot contain melting onions.

Tasty food, very courteous service, romantic little alley with a view of the lake and comfortable chairs. Food is also very visually appealing, decent portions, very good value for money. Fish fillet very well prepared, tender and tasty.

We found that it was not possible to book an outside table in advance when we called in earlier in the day. We went again at about 7 o'clock and some guests were just leaving so we were able to get a table outside. The inside is quite spacious but on a warm summer's evening we hoped to sit outside. It was frustrating to find that the food here was first rate but the service was not. We ordered a bottle of water which never came. I ordered a second beer but by the time it arrived I had almost finished my meal. When it came to paying I had to ask a few times. I did not leave a tip. The food, however was one one of the best meals I have had in Überlingen. I had Felchen (a white fish that I had come across before) with almonds, parsley potatoes and salad. Germans always celebrate seasonal food and so my wife had salad with Pfifferlinge (chanterelles) from the Pfifferling menu. Both were excellent. If only the service had matched the quality of the food.

Freundliches Personal. Recht gute Suppe von Pfifferlingen. Maultaschen schmecken nach wenig, sind unter riesigen Bergen von Salat begraben, was sich nicht besser macht.

Went there for dinner and everything was great. The service was very friendly, the drinks and food came relatively quickly and tasted great, it was even beautifully prepared, the fries were home-made, something you can't get everywhere. Definitely come back, because we go to Lake Constance almost every year. Price performance 👍 Definitely recommended.

Went there for lunch today, sat outside in a nice, quiet alley, got a mixed salad as a starter, it was very fresh and crunchy! For the main course, onion roast with cheese spaetzle, I had the fine pike-perch with chanterelle cream sauce, with mega fine fries. Everything was super fine and fresh. Highly recommended! I agree with the many positive reviews. We visited the restaurant 4 times in one week and were impressed by the very friendly staff and good food. No matter what you ordered, whether fish, asparagus, spaetzle or schnitzel, every meal was served fresh with a friendly smile. Everything aesthetically and tasty prepared. We spontaneously went to the restaurant for dinner on Sunday evening. We didn't have a reservation. Even though there were free tables, we were basically thrown out. The manner was an absolute disgrace. Not even a 'hello', let alone a 'sorry'. Of course, a restaurant can be fully reserved and the staff can be stressed. But then you just say politely that there are no tables left and everything is fine. Maybe it was because we had a wheelchair user and a small child in a stroller with us. I don't know it. We definitely won't be coming back!

It just fits, in a good, home-style way, like when we used to visit Schäpfle as hotel guests (Rainer as head chef). We would love to come back and are happy that kitchen traditions are still being maintained.

Unfortunately it was not a good choice. The staff didn’t respect my food allergies and refuses to change the food trying to convince me that the food is ok. It was not. Never ever again.

Very nice atmosphere, with fresh flowers at the table and rustic elements as well as bourgeois furnishings with great accessories... Very nice welcome that immediately makes you feel at home. The service was really super good. All the food we ordered came absolutely freshly prepared and in a really reasonable time. The asparagus cream soup was incredibly tasty and had a lot of asparagus in it and was really worth the money! For the main course, the children had schnitzel with fries. The portion was still very large for a child of 6 years. The schnitzel was made from turkey, fried golden in butter with golden steakhouse fries. Incredibly perfectly fried. The main course for the adults was “Reiners Renner”, pork medallions wrapped in bacon with cheese pätzle, cream sauce and a bucket of Champion with carrot and leek Jullien. What can you say? We were not only surprised, but incredibly perplexed that in a "good middle-class restaurant" the food was very upscale and of high quality. The portion is really for good eaters. The pork tenderloin was wrapped in bacon. This was neither oversalted nor greasy. These pork medallions were cooked to perfection, i.e. the meat was still delicately pink and therefore naturally melted in the mouth, something no one would have expected. You are not used to such quality of cuisine in such a pleasant price segment. The sauce wasn't overbearingly "creamy" but rather a pleasant gravy with a dash of "cream" and great "cognac" added to the taste. The mushroom bucket was incredibly freshly prepared and so light and summery. All in all you have to say, star chef for the “little citizen”! MEGA, please keep it up! This is where the craft is understood.

Leider hat uns das Wetter am Bodensee einen Streich gespielt. Es war sehr kalt und windig. Beim Besuch des Restaurant Reiners Schäpfle wurde uns aber wieder warm ums Herz. Sehr freundliche Bedienung und ausgezeichnete Küche. Man kann dieses Restaurant nur empfehlen.

Very bad service, as well as the food, we ordered onion roast beef and the cream schnitzel, we asked the waitress whether it was possible to get the cream schnitzel without mushrooms, the waitress said she would just clarify it with the chef! After 20 minutes the food with mushrooms came, when I said we ordered it without mushrooms, the waitress said very cheekily, you have to tell me, I thought there was a hidden camera here somewhere. The onion roast is not Swabian! It came with fried onions, which just doesn't go well with it! We won't eat here again but the worst thing is the service is not good and very rude

Very nice location. The food was super tasty. Only the young waitress was a little beside herself. She had forgotten the fries that we had specially ordered. When another waitress brought the food we had to order the fries again. All in all 4.5 stars. With fries 5 stars. I can only recommend the restaurant.

Hello dear friends of good taste. Reiner's Schäpfle Restaurant will still be known to many as "Café Anna", but a lot has changed... The restaurant has moved from the waterfront promenade to the Schäpfle's former breakfast room! The quality of the food and the service has not changed! Simply fantastic, I can say with a clear conscience... But first from the beginning... Before Corona, we were regularly at Lake Constance and had dinner every day. After the first visit there, we didn't change again! We didn't always have good experiences at other restaurants, for example on the days when Café Anna was closed. We were there again at the end of March 2024 for a long time and were recognized by the boss (the blonde lady with almost shoulder-length hair) after a moment's thought. It was a nice, warm ❤️ reunion for both sides... And we enjoyed eating there every day, even at lunchtime and in the evening! Why? Because you can't really go wrong there: Food great (No matter whether duck, venison ragout, etc.) Service exemplary Price/performance also great We also had a warm farewell and will definitely come back when we are in Überlingen! The service was very attentive. The dumplings with porcini mushrooms and the salmon trout were very tasty. The dining room is much larger than it appears from the outside. Price-performance okay. Only the interior seems a bit thrown together and you shouldn't be bothered by the fact that dogs are allowed. There wasn't much going on at 8 p.m., so everything went very quickly.

Einfach nur Empfehlenswert! In diesem bezaubernden Restaurant in Überlingen am Bodensee durfte ich nicht nur die köstliche bürgerliche Küche genießen, sondern wurde auch von einem äußerst herzlichen Personal empfangen. Jedes Gericht war ein Gaumenschmaus, liebevoll zubereitet und hausgemacht. Die warme Atmosphäre und die aufmerksame Betreuung durch das Team machten meinen Besuch zu einem rundum herzlichen Erlebnis. Die Hausgemachten Kuchen sind ein absolutes muss bei dem Besuch. Wir kommen definitiv wieder!

Auch in den neuen Räumen bekommt man eine unverändert hohe Qualität der Speisen geboten, und die Speisekarte wurde (Gott sei Dank) fast unverändert übernommen. Wir kommen immer wieder gerne hierher, was zuletzt auch dem tollen Service geschuldet ist.

Das Restaurant ist sehr schön, und die Gerichte sind sehr gut. Alles war perfekt. Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich und nett.

Wir haben heute dieses Lokal besucht auf Grund der Bewertungen und ich muß gleich sagen schade das es keine 6 Sterne gibt, die hätte ich gerne gegeben. Das Lokal ist sehr schön und gemütlich eingerichtet, der Service hat uns sehr freundlich empfangen und kompetent beraten. Wir gehen gerne gut essen und haben in letzter Zeit die Erfahrung gemacht das die Preise steigen, was ja auch normal ist wenn alles teurer wird, aber auch oft die Qualität nachlässt, aber hier passt es echt. Super Preis Leistungsverhältnis und das am See. Das Essen war rundum sehr lecker, große Portionen und alles frisch. Die Suppe war sehr gut gewürzt und reichlich. Der Beilagensalat war super, nicht nur grünzeug, sondern gut gemischt, frisch und ein großer Salat. Die Hauptgänge perfekt und da wird jeder satt. Für jeden in Überlingen ein muss der gut essen will. Sehr feines Essen. Super Preis/Leistungsverhältnis. Kleiner Tipp: Den Kindern zuerst das Essen servieren damit sie nicht solange warten müssen. Ansonsten alles top!

Ich aß Tagliatelle mit frischen Pfifferlingen - meine Frau ein Fischgericht. Beide Essen scheckten super und die Portionen waren gut bemessen. Faires Preis-/Leistungs-Verhältnis. Wir sind durch Zufall hier gelandet und waren begeistert. Der Service war schnell und freundlich, das Essen einfach nur wow. Der Salat zu den Käsespätzle war frisch, abwechslungsreich, mit Croutons und das Dressing toll. Die Portion Käsespätzle war groß und ebenfalls sehr gut. Das Schnitzel knusprig, die Soße mega lecker (ein Hauch Wein) und die Portionsgröße absolut ausreichend. Für den Preis einfach klasse.

Wir sind aufgrund der guten Bewertungen hier hin. Das Ambiente sowohl innen als auch außen ist sehr schön. Das Restaurant liegt in zweiter Reihe. Der Service war bei unserem Besuch leider nicht existent. Bis wir die Karten bekommen haben, bis wir bestellen konnten und bis wir bezahlen konnten hat ewig gedauert. Das Restaurant könnte locker den dreifachen Umsatz machen. Wenn aber keiner kommt, um Nachtisch, Getränke oder Kaffee aufzunehmen, wird natürlich auch nichts umgesetzt. Da wir lange warten mussten, konnten wir beobachten wie Personen draußen einfach aufgefordert wurden, nach drinnen zu gehen, da wohl eine große Gruppe ohne Reservierung besser an dem Tisch platziert werden konnte. Die Gäste fanden das nicht gut und wurden dann noch vom Service angepflaumt. Wenn der Tisch an den man sich setzt (da kein Service sich für die Platzierung interessiert) nicht passt, sollte man darauf direkt vor der Bestellung hinweisen. Ein anderer Gast musste locker 15 min warten, bis er überhaupt die Karte zu Gesicht bekam. Der Zwiebelrostbraten war wirklich nicht gut. Das Fleisch war dünn, voller Knorpel und mit Fett durchzogen. Zudem hat es sehr streng geschmeckt, was auf altes Fleisch hindeutet. Bei der nicht vorhandenen Dicke des Fleisches konnte gar kein Gargrad identifiziert werden. Das Fleisch war natürlich durchgebraten. Die Spätzle waren lauwarm, die Soße wässrig. Und das alles für 28 Euro!! Der zusätzlich bestellte Beilagensalat für 6,50 war ein Witz. Andere Gäste hatten auch einen Beilagensalat und dieser erschien deutlich größer. Apfel und Melone haben für mich nichts in Salat zu suchen. Schmälern natürlich den Platz in der kleinen Schüssel für Salat, den man eig bestellt hat! Frech fand ich beim Bezahlen, dass man ein Trinkgeld im Computer eintippen muss. Das ist Abzocke. Zum Bezahlen mit Karte muss man aufstehen, reingehen und den Service suchen. Service mal wieder Fehlanzeige. Fazit: Bei den Preisen stimmt der Service und die Qualität des Essens leider überhaupt nicht.

Sehr gutes Essen, nicht ganz gleichzeitig serviert. Schweinsmedallions im Speckmantel mit Spätzle, sehr zart und noch leicht rosa, Spinat Käse Knödel mit Pfifferlingen, Gemüsestreifen und Parmesan perfekt. Getränke wurden leider zugleich mit dem Aperitif serviert. Wir gehen sicher noch einmal dorthin essen.

Sehr gemütlich und das Essen war ausgezeichnet. Auch die Bedienung war sehr freundlich. Die 5 Sterne hat sich das Restaurant redlich verdient.

Alles in allem ein absolut gelungener Abend. Als Vorspeise gab es eine Pfifferlingsuppe mit viel Einlage. Defintiv selbst gemacht. Hauptspeise Schweinemedaillions im Speckmantel, Spätzle und Pfifferlingrahmsauce. Auch hier war alles stimmig und gut abgeschmeckt. Zum Abschluss gabs ein Schwarzwaldmädel( Eis mit Sahne und Kirschwasser. Preis/Leistung war sehr gut. Bedienung sehr freundlich. Ambiente einladend.

Wir haben uns von den bisherigen Bewertungen leiten lassen und wurden nicht enttäuscht. Der Außenbereich liegt in einer hübschen, ruhigen Gasse mit (je nach Sitzplatz) Blick auf den See im Hintergrund. Drinnen waren wir nicht. Der Service war zügig, freundlich und angenehm zurückhaltend. Und das Essen war schlicht hervorragend. Die Preise sind nicht unbedingt günstig, dafür aber der Menge und Qualität angemessen. Würden wir hier nicht nur Urlaub machen, kämen wir sicher regelmäßig.
