Guten Taco in Überlingen

We spontaneously grabbed some takeaway and were immediately impressed. Authentic Mexican food, not a chain. Great atmosphere, and the open kitchen was filled with Mexican food. Our beef burritos were delicious. The service was also very friendly. I'm already looking forward to the next time.

First impression was bad. The online menu download didn't work. Unreachable by phone... Seems unprofessional... We'll see. We decided to go to the store anyway... But surprisingly authentic cuisine. Very good value for money.

The Mexican cuisine here is incredibly good. They offer small and large dishes, appetizers, and desserts. The service is super friendly, and they'll explain everything if you have any questions. Highly recommended. Important: It's best to make a reservation in advance. The only thing I missed about the ambiance was a bit of Mexican music, but that's probably a matter of taste. Unfortunately, they didn't have Mexican beer, but they did have non-alcoholic Mexican drinks and, of course, excellent tequila. Very authentic. I will definitely go back and take more pictures.

The kitchen smells like Mexico, the food is very authentic and delicious. Unfortunately, the packaging was already soggy from the burrito when we picked it up.

We order online with my boyfriend, hoping to enjoy a delicious mexican dishes, but instead we had wrong order, not vegan food that they specified in the menu (we choose the supposedly vegan frijoles but only the topping is vegan, not the dish??, would be nice if it would be more specific or u would be able to create even one hole vegan option) my quesadilla didn’t have the half of the ingredients, the food was cold and when we ask to make the nachos vegan or at least without cheese he said “there’s no way to make the nachos without cheese, you can just put the cheese on the side”. But the cheese is everywhere, you cant separate it at all. We are completely disappointed and we can’t eat the “vegan” dish ‘cause it wasn’t vegan at all. So if you go there and you are vegan please specify it at least 3 times otherwise you are gonna get the wrong order. I leave I picture of my “quesadilla guacamole” who only had avocado and nothing else even the sides wasn’t here. Its a completely shame! I wrote this comment without the intention to hurt anyone, just to let you know if you offer Vegan options at least you can use Vegan cheese, to look for an alternative. Personally I have been working in a Mexican Restaurant and I am even Latina, I never try to offend, completely the opposite I wanted to give you an advice to make it better.

You feel like you're in Mexico. The food is good, the staff is friendly! You should make a reservation!

Wow! I'm thrilled! The food, drinks, staff, and atmosphere were all fantastic. Absolutely recommend it! No comparison to Sausalitos and the like. And I'm not a day tripper like the weird one-star guy below assumes. Sorry, but he must have a bad taste.

This restaurant was also recommended to me by a colleague from Argentina. There were four of us and we had a reservation. It's a really small restaurant, I'd say rustic, with Mexican colors. I estimate it has about 30 seats. We've been to several Mexican restaurants, and the food has always been a German version of Mexican food. Anyone who has been to Mexico knows how it tastes and is prepared there. And it's really exactly like in Mexico; everything is prepared exactly the same way. The kitchen is open, and you can see the preparation. That's a big plus! The cocktails are also a highlight! They're all freshly prepared. Many guests come in just to get a cocktail. I can highly recommend this restaurant, too, and if we want to relive our memories of our vacation in Mexico, we will visit the restaurant again.

Very friendly staff, very good and authentic Mexican food. The owners also place great importance on sustainability. Since we moved to Überlingen six years ago, Guten Taco has been our favorite restaurant, and we always enjoy coming back.

First and foremost, the incredibly delicious food deserves a mention, but the drinks are also worth mentioning. The mojito was one of the best in my life, and I've had a few! However, the location and the outdoor seating leave something to be desired; due to the weather, they've seen better days; a cushioned seat wouldn't have hurt either. Overall, though, highly recommended!

Absolutely not recommended. The food is tasteless and very poorly presented. The restaurant probably benefits from day-trippers. The good reviews are completely unfounded.

I came here for dinner with my family (12 people). The occasion was my birthday a few days before. I had an outstanding evening at Guten Taco. Making a reservation via the website or by email was easy, and confirmation came quickly. The service was very friendly and competent. They were also patient in explaining the menu structure and accommodated minor special requests. All guests received their food at a reasonable time. The food was delicious for me and my family; everyone was very impressed. As the "birthday boy," there was even a surprise at the end. Paying by card was also easy. I highly recommend Guten Taco! 😊

This was our first experience with a Mexican. A telephone reservation worked without any problems. When we arrived we were greeted warmly and given three tables to choose from. Because the weather cooperated, we decided to go outside. After a short introduction to the different variants, the food came quickly. I was very happy with my rice-based meat options. Spicy sauces round off the taste experience. Gladly again.

A totally authentic and incredibly delicious Mexican restaurant in Überlingen! The service is incredibly friendly and charmingly answers any questions you may have about the Mexican specialties. 🌯 My drink tip: Chelada (beer with lime, ice cubes, and a salt rim) or the classic Margarita. 🍸 Both are outstanding. 🫶🏼

We really liked the concept. A wide variety of fillings in different “packaging”. The food was delicious, the cocktails were great and the service was really friendly. It went in no time until everything was on the table, but still a relaxed and nice visit.

I had high expectations because the cooks are Mexican but I was disappointed, The food is average, not bad, but they are very adapted to the German style. Something that disappointed me was that the pastor tacos have rice… The atmosphere and the sauces are a 10/10

Super delicious food! There are just as many vegetarian offerings of tacos, burritos and quesadillas as those with meat. The vegetarian ones are also offered vegan. Everything is gluten-free, including the deserts. (They also left out the coriander for me.) Great vibe there, and above all, incredibly nice people who work there :) in a good mood, courteous and attentive. It's a bit warm in there on hot summer days. (But then it’s even more authentic 😄) There are also a few tables outside.

The menu is pretty full of everything and probably hasn't been looked at in a while. (Luca app, only those who have been vaccinated are allowed to eat, etc. that's probably a bit outdated) There's nothing wrong with the service - everyone was very friendly. The food - yeah, not my thing, the very different sounding versions made me want to try them but in the end the taste was quite similar and it didn't blow me away. But husband and daughter were very impressed. So - just try it out and take a picture yourself.

I still didn't know what I was missing in my life. Ever since I ate here I knew it was authentic Mexican food. About the ambience: A bit of a mix of everything that has a concrete or vague connection to Mexico. Generally a very homely place with an open kitchen. About the food itself: The quality is impressive. Every dish, unlike what we know from so-called Mexican chains, tastes different. You can taste the quality of the ingredients, even though there is no convenience here. Starters, drinks and desserts are also unusual and incredibly good. Service: Warm, friendly and with a wide, authentic smile. Through the open kitchen you can also see how friendly the staff are with each other. The menu: An admittedly somewhat overcrowded menu lovingly describes what the difference is between the individual dishes, how much an average eater should order (and is spot on), how to eat the dishes in style and not much more. She also provides the reader with a collage of Mexican history, geography, and sights. All in all, I'm very impressed and will stop by again at the next opportunity.

We had a great evening at Guten Taco. The ambience alone, as if you were sitting in a living room in the middle of México, tacos, burritos, nachos and co. eat and drink Magaritas, Corona, Tequila and Mezcal. The most authentic Mexican restaurant I've been to so far. The waiters and waitress were super friendly, our reservation including baby and stroller was accepted without any problems, and we were given a table where we could sit comfortably as a couple and where our child with a stroller could also sit. Our child is still too small for a high chair, but one would have been available, which is actually not the case in every restaurant in Überlingen. We were also offered some toys for the little one. It wasn't a problem that our baby was louder or crawled on the bench, everything was received with humor and a smile, which unfortunately we're not used to either. During the course of the evening one of the waiters came dressed in a wrestling mask to the song “Tequila” and had a water pistol filled with tequila and sprayed a shot into the mouth of everyone who liked it, which we found extremely amusing and which lifted the mood immensely. All I can say about the food is that it was very tasty and super authentic, a little sparsely garnished but that way you only have what you actually eat on your plate and there is less waste. All in all, I found the restaurant visit to be one of the best in Überlingen.

Unfortunately, after our visit we cannot understand the good reviews. We ordered two burritos, one of them vegetarian, and found them carelessly prepared, not gratinated with cheese, the filling only lukewarm and rather small for the price. I've been to Mexico and San Diego for a year and I would argue that it wasn't very authentically Mexican. There are much better ones! We sat outside and therefore only 1 star for that. The benches are hard, the wood is old and not very comfortable.

Hola Amigos, as good as the experience started with the very friendly waiter, you quickly became disappointed with the food. Beer tastes good, so smoking outside is actually great. I could have made a burrito like this at home. All in all, nice shed :)

The food, super delicious. The service definitely needs improvement and the ambience was ok, although the music was completely over the top, i.e. way too loud. The conversation was more like a strained shout than a pleasant after-work conversation. Unfortunately, that changes the atmosphere.

The restaurant doesn't have a large menu, but what's on it is impressive :) plus the excellent service from the friendly Mexicans - a great and fitting mix!! The ambience in the restaurant has a perfect Mexican touch. Our drinks and food were very, very tasty. The dessert - the chocolate cake - was excellent! So we can only recommend the Mexican :)

I ordered sangria and it was great, not too sweet, perfect for my taste. The optics are also very appealing. Authentic food that really tastes delicious. In summer the guacamole filling is really recommended, refreshing and very tasty. Unfortunately no photo because I was very hungry and it smelled heavenly and tasted just the same. 🤤 P.S. Don't be mistaken about the size, they are 20cm flatbreads, as described on the menu and you really need two to three of them. ☺️

From the food they create to the people they serve to the plants and animals that give their lives for us to nourish ourselves - all of it is important to them and their ingredients, the way they store them and the way they cook them all reflect this. Unfortunately the name didn't say it. The food wasn't bad, but it was a bit carelessly placed on the otherwise empty plate and the taste was rather flat; without the cheese, the burrito would hardly have had any taste of its own. The size of the portions also left a lot to be desired. Despite only a few occupied tables, the staff seemed to be reaching their limits.

Kleines aber feines Restaurant. Leckeres Essen,Tolle Cocktails und die Bedienung war super freundlich. Sind am Bodensee im Urlaub, falls wir nochmals hinfahren dann sicher auch ins Guten Taco.

I had Mexican food for the first time, lentil burrito. The food was very good to my taste, the place was nice. I found the price a little high, i guess using bio ingredients is a reason for the prices too.

Lockere Atmosphäre, entspannte vibes , leckere Getränke und super leckeres Essen. Ich war 2x dort. Am Wochenende oder wer gern draußen sitzen möchte sollte Reservieren. Bei der Füllung findet wohl jeder was gute Vegetarische Auswahl, auf Wunsch wohl auch Vegan (hatte ich nicht). Frei Wählbar ob das dann in Taco, Tostada, Quesadilla, Burrito oder mit Nachos kommt. Alles aus Maismehl, ist für Glutenfreie Ernährung geeignet, ob dies auch für Zöliakie gilt müsste persönlich nachgefragt werden. Die Nachtische waren auch mega lecker. Ich hatte was mit Cocoscreme und einen Brownie aus glaub Mandelmehl mit Eis. Zum WC muss man einige Stufen runter. Mit Rollstuhl ginge das glaube ich nicht.

Die Karte ist im ersten Moment etwas unübersichtlich, bis man das System verstanden hat. Das Essen war sehr sehr lecker, wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder. Die Karte ist Glutenfrei mit vielen vegetarischen und veganen Möglichkeiten. Leider ist der Raum etwas zu klein/eng, dadurch ist es sehr laut gewesen. Reservierung ist sinnvoll, da es immer voll war und sie sehr viele wegschicken mussten. Das Personal versteht einen gut, auch wenn sie nicht perfekt deutsch sprechen, dafür waren sie sehr sympathisch (was man in Überlingen leider nicht mehr oft in der Gastro findet).

La mejor comida Mexicana fuera de México, recomiendo las quesadillas de Pastor y Suadero, y la atención del personal excelente y el Chef Alonso hace los mejores platillos con productos Bio (orgánicos)

Jedes Gericht kann man selbst zusammenstellen. War sehr lecker. Bedienung etwas überfordert.

Goed en genoeg gegeten voor een redelijke prijs. Wat een uitstraling heeft de jongen bij wie ik afrekende. Zijn ogen brachten me in verlegenheid. Een reden om nog eens terug te komen.
