REDO XXL Berlin in Berlin

I ate there for the first time yesterday. It was very nice, delicious food, clean, and friendly staff. I would recommend it to everyone. The restrooms were clean. We didn't have to wait long for the food either. I don't understand how people can write bad reviews. We were completely satisfied, and if I'm ever in Berlin again, I'll stop by again.

Hello, we wanted to go there yesterday with a group of four people. We called almost two hours in advance and the employee told us, "Yes, we are actually almost full but we can manage." After asking again, the employee replied, "We'll be driving for almost two hours, right? Yes, you'll come by." We set off and arrived there. Then the employee told us he never said that and that he didn't have any space. He also called us liars, which is an absolute disgrace. We are absolutely disappointed with this kind of treatment...the evening was obviously ruined for us and we drove home two hours later without anything to eat...it's a shame that employees like this are ruining Mr. Dost's company and that he is losing customers because of this. We will avoid his company after this situation.

We went to Redo XXL at Tempelhofer Hafen, and the name says it all! I had the 1-kilo currywurst – the biggest I've ever seen. The taste was okay, but the sausage was too soft for me and more like a thick sausage. The curry sauce, on the other hand, was truly delicious – spicy and well-balanced. My wife had the 600-gram chicken schnitzel, and it was simply amazing: super-tender, juicy, yet crispy – one of the best schnitzels ever! The service was initially quick and friendly, but later, as the place got busier, it took a little longer, which was certainly due to a lack of staff. The only real downside: We didn't have any cutlery on the table and had to get some from another table because it was forgotten. The homemade lemonade was delicious, even if the half-liter seemed a bit small. Conclusion: The chicken schnitzel is highly recommended – I'd gladly come back, but without the currywurst.

First of all, the good stuff, the taste of the food, and the view are good, but that's where the "good" ends. Even though we had reserved a table, we had to ask three waiters and spend a lot of time deciding where to sit. It was 5:30 p.m., so still before rush hour. We were able to place our drink orders quickly and they arrived. Then we waited 45 minutes until we could ORDER our food. At one point, someone came and said he couldn't do it and we should press the button. He thought it was odd that we'd done it five times already. Anyway, we ordered food sometime later, waited another 45 minutes for the food, but only my schnitzel came first, and my partner waited another 10 minutes for his burger. Since I was already finished, I ordered another drink (there just happened to be a waiter there who could). But the drink didn't arrive for half an hour, until we ordered the bill. 🥲 And since it was no different at other tables (of course, there's plenty of waiting time to strike up a conversation with others 😅), they seem to have an acute staffing problem! Only two waiters can take an order without any problems, and the rest don't speak German or English well enough to do so. Well, we definitely won't be coming back; Berlin simply offers too many other options!

We've been to Tempelhofer Hafen twice, and the food is unbeatable. You can taste it immediately, the fat is always fresh, and everything is flavorful. So, the price-performance ratio is right, and it's a real dining experience. Thank you for the great food 🫶

Very nice, funny, and friendly staff, pleasant atmosphere, they even offered a birthday discount, and the food, like fries, liver, schnitzel, bratwurst, and chicken wings, was great. The beef wasn't cooked well on all sides, and the ribs weren't my cup of tea. We had the XXXL MEAT PLATE WITH FRIES 🍟 Reserve in advance!

The food was okay and the view was beautiful. Unfortunately, the cocktail arrived unchilled with ice cubes, the wrong dish was served, and the food was anything but synchronized. The last dish arrived after everyone was finished, with a brief "sorry." The restrooms were unfortunately not clean. Overall, it was an experience, but unfortunately not one worth repeating. The slogan "We do what we love" unfortunately didn't fit with the service philosophy as I understand it.

Cheap frozen food, but you don't go there expecting quality food. Service was overwhelmed. Free tables, but they were told they were full, even though they weren't reserved. Only after asking what was wrong with the table, for example, were they told, yes, it was free. Dirty, sticky tables; only after asking were they wiped down once. The homemade lemonade is sparkling water with syrup, and yet it still tasted like water. The guests next to us argued with the server because they had to wait 20 minutes and no one came to take their order. 2kg schnitzel with fries wasn't really enough to fill four men, even though it was intended "for 10 people." The menu also listed coleslaw and salad. There was exactly one!! tomato slice and two tablespoons of coleslaw. Overall, not really recommended.

Great location, but the service was mediocre. A 30-minute wait, then the burgers arrived, but the fries were missing. Unfortunately, when asked, they were only answered with a lack of interest. The price/performance ratio makes a second visit not unlikely.

The service was indeed fast, which is a positive in itself. However, the friendliness of the staff left much to be desired. The long wait also did not help the overall impression. It is unfortunate that the food was not visually appealing. This suggests that the presentation may have been neglected. In the restaurant industry, the aesthetics of the food play an important role. It would be desirable if these aspects could be improved in the future. This would significantly enhance the overall dining experience.

The food itself is okay, but extremely loud music and videos are playing continuously. A minute after we sat down, we were asked if we knew what we wanted to order. How could you know that after just a minute? Common sense would be appropriate here. We asked if there were boxes available for us to take our food with us. The waiter then handed us paper plates and aluminum foil and told us to do it ourselves. We definitely don't understand service!

It was our first time at the restaurant. XXL is a big deal there. The food was delicious and we really enjoyed it. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The overall impression of the place was very good. The price-performance ratio was more than perfect. It's a shame there isn't a RedoXXL in Hanover. We'd love to come back when we're back in Berlin. Very tasty food, as usual at Redo, but the bearded waiter on the shift on September 27th around 4 p.m. wasn't in the mood for his job. When I asked for something special, he immediately rolled his eyes. Unfortunately, a waiter like that misses the food. The staff definitely needs to improve here.

It was delicious, as always. We usually go to Wildau, but since it's still closed, we decided to try this place instead, and we weren't disappointed. It's beautifully located. The service is super friendly; our colleague from Wildau is also working here at the moment. Highly recommended.

Reserving a table online is super quick. Wait times for food are ridiculous. Tip: Don't go there hungry. Too many guests = too few staff.

We didn't enjoy the food that much. And we found the staff very unfriendly. I think it's a shame that the owner wanted my review deleted – although I have proof that I ate there. And I'm a lawyer, so if in doubt, I'll take legal action against this unacceptable form of influence. I think it's quite likely that many negative reviews here were simply deleted because Redo XXL wants them blocked, citing alleged "defamation" via Google. How can something like that be allowed?

Tonight we went to Redo XXL in Berlin. The food arrived after about an hour – which was okay. But: Despite repeated requests, our drinks never arrived, even after we'd finished our meals. Serving food without drinks and completely ignoring requests is absolutely unacceptable for a restaurant. Very disappointing service.

XXL COMPLAINT!!!!! Dear Sir or Madam, On September 19, 2025, six of us dined at your restaurant – unfortunately, our visit turned out to be very disappointing and unexpected. Right from the start, we discovered that our reserved table was damaged (one leg was loose and threatened to fall off). Only after repeated requests were we finally seated elsewhere. Even more serious, however, were the problems with the food: • Of our four ordered dishes, three were served incorrectly. We had specifically requested ingredients for three burgers, but they were served anyway. • One burger didn't arrive at all at first. After repeated inquiries, we finally received all the dishes, but only on the third attempt. And yet, one burger still had the ingredients we had requested. This way of handling orders is not only annoying, but even dangerous in cases of allergies or intolerances. In addition, in our case, Ryan, the service offered no apology and also seemed overwhelmed during the payment process. While the quality of the food was generally good, the entire process completely overshadowed the culinary experience. We therefore urge you to take this feedback seriously and critically review the processes in your service and kitchen areas. Not recommended! We waited 30 minutes for the starter and 50 minutes for the main course. When we ordered, we specified sauces and didn't receive them. We mentioned them again later, and they only arrived after we were finished. The salad listed on the menu was a lettuce leaf with a slice of tomato, which was a joke.

Highly recommended. Friendly service, good food, and perfectly reasonable prices. I didn't get my food exactly as I ordered, but the staff quickly and courteously made sure my order was correct.

We went to Redo for the first time yesterday. After some initial difficulties despite having a reservation, it was a super fun and lovely evening with great food and fantastic service. Srecko pulled out all the stops and saved the evening. Great guy, did a fantastic job. We'll definitely be back.

Burgers are good, but the staff is always rather unmotivated, or rather, they have a strange demeanor. The view is very nice and the value is great.

A lot of things went wrong for us... unfortunately... my father's burger sat on the neighboring table for 5 minutes, while they were just leaving to smoke... the same thing happened with our guest's spicy meat... when the mistake was noticed, it was cleared away next door and placed with us 2 minutes later... not appetizing, as the neighboring table was also passing the food back and forth... my mother had to wait 10 minutes for her drink, while the rest of us already had ours... The service alert at the table either didn't work or was skillfully ignored... so it was better to call for the waiter, if he was nearby... The taste was good so far. Either the staff were a bit overwhelmed or the organization was flawed. Otherwise, it was a lovely evening on September 6, 2025, at 7:15 PM at table 27.

So we ordered an XXL schnitzel with fries, which was really delicious. The drink arrived in 5 minutes, as did the food, which arrived about 10 minutes later, so it was great. A great view, everyone was friendly. But we had some leftover food, and I know they pack it up, but we had to do it ourselves.

We were there on Saturday evening. What can I say: The best schnitzel I've ever eaten!! We ordered the garlic bread as a starter and the 600g Kaiserschnitzel as a main course, which we shared between the two of us. The meat was super tender and well-seasoned, and the cream sauce with the ham and cheese was delicious. I also loved that you can easily get extra plates to share with your meal. We will definitely come back as soon as we're back in Berlin. Redo XXL Berlin is definitely recommended!

I went there for the first time today with my 11-year-old, and we were absolutely thrilled... We received a very friendly welcome and excellent service, the food was absolutely top-quality, and above all, the portions were larger than expected. We'd love to come back.

Unfortunately, it was quite loud there, and we ate the schnitzel for up to 10 people with four adults and three small children, and unfortunately, not everyone was full. Therefore, it's not suitable for 10 people. The service was super friendly and even gave the kids ice cream, and they were allowed to keep two incorrectly delivered drinks.

A special restaurant in a special location. With an outdoor area and a view of Tempelhofer Hafen. We had a very friendly and funny young server. If you like to eat more than you should 😉, you'll be well served here. Whatever you don't finish, they'll happily pack up to take away.

The food was super delicious, the location was fantastic, and Marcel, the staff member, was a really cool, attentive guy who kept asking us if everything was OK. The other one seemed like he was totally on top of his game both times we were there. Both times we were there, I placed my order and specifically said what I wanted a second time because he hadn't written it down, and a few minutes later he came back to ask what I ordered. This is the second time this has happened. If that weren't the case, I'd give it 4 stars, but of course, people make mistakes and not everyone is perfect. Maybe he's new, but the two times we were there, I think he was totally on top of his game, inattentive, and with a tip of €4 or €6, you can also say thank you. So, that's something I'll remember, and I'll think twice before eating there again.

The ambiance is really great, and the view from the terrace is beautiful. The food was really great, and the restrooms are clean. But even though it wasn't really busy, we had to wait a long time, whether for drinks or food, or even for anyone to come at all. Sometimes we even went to the waiter in the hope of getting what we wanted faster. But that didn't happen either. If we hadn't been so hungry, we would have gone somewhere else...

We were looking forward to an extraordinary evening. The food was good, not overwhelming. The service was simply not there. We requested drinks several times, waited forever, and then requested again. It was definitely a waste of time. We won't be going there again, which is a shame. We'll try somewhere else anyway.

The utter incompetence of the team was evident in this restaurant this evening. We had reserved a table for 6 p.m., but when we arrived a few minutes early, the table was still occupied and dirty. Due to discrepancies in the prices on the menu and the website, the wrong dish arrived twice. After everyone had their food, naturally 5-10 minutes apart, one or two dishes were a bit cold. Unfortunately, the service was completely nonexistent, and there was no sign of any staff to speak to. Good staff is hard to find, after all. When they did show up, they shrugged their shoulders, and the conversation was over. Cutlery was self-service, so you got behind the counter and quickly left before you were noticed. Oh, that's impossible, there were no staff there. There was dirty cutlery and dishes, as well as dirty glasses, all over the place. Biology included. So all in all, a successful evening! We ate there with several people. Unfortunately, we were served very late, even though the restaurant was almost empty. The food wasn't very tasty, and there was a lot of flabby meat. In the end, we had to wait forever to pay because we were constantly ignored. Also, the entire floor was very sticky.

Unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend eating out. The food was OK, but the awful service spoiled the experience. Drinks were forgotten, the table wasn't cleared, cutlery was forgotten, and we ended up fetching our own plates. It felt like the staff just forgot about it.

We were there on a sunny Sunday afternoon. With a reservation. We sat on the terrace with a harbor view, which was a lovely spot. The staff was relaxed, very friendly, and attentive. We had 1 kg of ribs and a 400 g schnitzel. Both were delicious, as were the fries, which were truly plentiful. Taking the leftovers home with us was no problem. Overall, a very nice and delicious "outing."

Four of us visited you on Thursday, August 7, 2025. We received a very warm welcome right from the start! The service was truly first-class. We received excellent advice! The food was simply breathtaking and a true taste experience. We had one of the 1kg spare ribs, two of the Kaiserschnitzel, and one of the chicken burgers. First of all, everything tasted fantastic. I don't understand the negative comments about the spare ribs at all. They were buttery soft and tasted fabulous. The drinks were also great, and the ice cream was good, too. As I mentioned at the beginning, the service was excellent. This is our second time here and we flew all the way from Austria to eat at Redo XXL again, just like we did in 2023. Thank you, we'll definitely be back. 😄😄😄😀😀😀

The food was very good, but the staff were completely overwhelmed. We had specifically reserved a table and had already chosen the food in advance, and of course pre-ordered and paid for it, but we still waited over two hours. The concept of reservations and pre-ordering was definitely not what we expected, especially since we were there with small children, who became very restless due to the long wait.

There were four of us there on August 7th 2025, we travelled all the way from Austria and we were so impressed. The service was simply top notch. The food was super good and served super quickly. The price/performance ratio was top notch.

Unfortunately, the price-performance ratio wasn't right for us. €65 for two people (large meal). On a hot day, all the doors were open - the air conditioning was doing its best. Unfortunately, there were wasps everywhere, so you couldn't eat in peace anywhere.

We visited both restaurants in Berlin. Online table reservations were only possible at 7 p.m., even though the place was empty. At 8 p.m., the place was half empty; we couldn't get a table because the kitchen closes at 9:30 p.m. You have to put up with that. Really sad. The quality of the food has declined significantly. I ordered a medium steak, it was cooked well, and then it was covered in tendons. The portions are just a sight for sore eyes; the taste and quality weren't up to scratch. It's a shame. The drinks and food took forever to arrive, and no one came to reorder. Maybe they should have fewer locations, deliver better quality, and find good staff.

I recently went there for a spontaneous meal, and it was okay. But the waiter was "extremely fake" and friendly while we were still customers. When we left, his true colors came out. A completely dismissive "Bye," with a look like "Get the hell out of here." Unbelievable. We had to ask for cutlery after the food was already on the table, and then the sauces were only brought upon request, as were ketchup, mayonnaise, and napkins, all one at a time. Such poor service, and no coordination among the waiters. Absolutely unprofessional behavior. They tried hard, but they had no plan. The table was sticky and rainwater on it, which I then wiped away myself because the waiter apparently didn't feel like it. It was lunchtime, and the place was at most 15% full. I don't even want to know what it's like when the place is full; it's absolutely terrible. In response to my simple question about how the discount advertised on the front page of the menu, bottom right (follow me on...), worked, they replied, "We're not really up to date on that, sorry." Seriously. With these prices, Rene Dost, and more than 20 stores, it should be possible to find halfway decent staff. Add a little extra to your salary instead of putting it all in the bank. With staff like that, you'll lose your reputation in the long run. PS: The food was OK; if the side dishes hadn't been lukewarm, it would have been great. I'm done with you, never again.

It's a restaurant specializing in extra-large portions. They look like it, and the price is adjusted accordingly. It's not expected that everyone can handle it alone. Eating something with others is okay. Taking leftovers is fine, too. You can get containers for that and pack them yourself. The food is delicious. The burger is a bit disappointing. It's a standard size and only a bit taller because of the amount of lettuce in it. The bun is crispy, so it all falls apart. There's no choice but to eat it in pieces. But €15 wasn't enough for a burger without a meal. The steaks, schnitzels, etc., are good, though.

If you're really hungry and enjoy hearty food, this is the place for you. The XXL dishes are not only impressive in size, but also truly delicious. Friendly service and a relaxed atmosphere make a visit a real experience. Fun for the whole group – definitely worth trying!

We waited about 1 hour for food, 3 people of us had ordered schnitzel, all 3 schnitzels were burned on the back

We were extremely happy because our experience in Frankfurt O. was truly outstanding, but we were all disappointed by the cleanliness. The table next to us had been cleared for an hour, but wiping it down was apparently not an option. On top of that, the burger forgot to include cheese, one sauce was too small, and we were charged for the beer. Not to mention the beer. It wasn't fresh at all. The schnitzels were so-so. We won't be going back to Tempelhof immediately. It's not worth the trip, but the view is still really nice. We waited almost 45 minutes for the beer tower, and it was completely inedible.

The steak was almost alive even though it was ordered medium. The fries were relatively good, nicely salted, but the herb butter was very sparing. Unfortunately, I wouldn't come back again, at least not for the steak.

I came all the way from Cologne to try Redo's restaurant, and it was super delicious. It's not a place where you'd think it's just an Instagram or TikTok spot. The service staff seemed a bit unmotivated, but that might not be the case. It was just the impression they had on me. Super delicious.

When paying (everyone individually), it was complete chaos, as we were asked to pay for more food than we had ordered. However, the issue was resolved.

A disaster. The bartender was so apathetic you'd think he was on drugs. The drinks (6 soft drinks) arrived after an hour. The food (4 orders) arrived after 1:45 hours. Never again. The staff was completely overwhelmed. Never pay in advance. It seemed as if you were no longer served properly.

I've been sitting here for 1.5 hours now, waiting for a large schnitzel. The staff seems uncomfortable, too, since we haven't gotten anything else and no one even looks at us. Now we can only hope it tastes good, but our mood will surely spoil the fun.

Unfortunately, we had a very disappointing experience today. We walked into the restaurant spontaneously; it was barely busy, and we were immediately assigned a table. Despite this, other guests who arrived after us were given priority. When we politely asked when we would be served, the server – a man with a beard – reacted extremely rudely and rudely instead of apologizing or clarifying the situation. This kind of behavior has absolutely nothing to do with hospitality. We left the restaurant and will definitely not return. What a shame about the otherwise good first impression.

The food was good. First things first. Vomit was left on the stairs leading down. Food scraps were trampled in front of the stairs. Tables weren't wiped down. It's very loud. The waiters are overwhelmed by the number of guests. Too many guests for too few staff. There was probably too much advertising on TikTok without increasing the staff. Perhaps the problem will resolve itself. Financially, it's okay.

Despite having a reservation, we waited 30 minutes for an employee to bring us the menu, another 15 minutes to take our order (although we had already rung the bell 4-5 times by then), and then another 15 minutes for our three drinks. We (2 adults and 1 teenager) ordered a 1300g schnitzel together. The platter was brought without plates or cutlery. When we were served, the employee said he would bring the plates right away, but unfortunately, he never showed up. In the end, we went back to the counter to get plates and cutlery. By the time we finally got our utensils, the food was already quite cold. The schnitzel and fries were okay, but the coleslaw was a small forkful on a small leaf of wilted lettuce, and some of it was brown instead of green. Since three service employees had time to chat, stress can't be the reason for the poor service. Of course, waiting times etc. are understandable when the place is busy, but four tables were occupied... A different server kindly took the drink costs off our bill due to our criticism. Conclusion: The location is really nice, especially the terrace & one very friendly server!! Schnitzel is okay, but the rest unfortunately has a lot of room for improvement! Unfortunately, Redo's posts promise much more than they actually do 😞

I went to XXL for the first time because I really wanted to experience it. We had reserved a table, but it wasn't necessary since the restaurant was empty. Unfortunately, there was no friendly greeting. We were then shown to a dirty table, and when I asked if we could have another table, the lady with slightly longer hair rudely told me, "No, this is your table." At some point, I saw a table free outside and asked for a change, which a young man arranged. I had to go inside to order our food and ask if we could order because no one felt they could or wanted to serve us. Our server was quite friendly, though, and made everything right. However, I'd consider going again. I like sitting at clean tables and being greeted with a friendly hello. What good is good food if the rest of the food isn't right?

The food arrived very late and the waiters were rude.

On my first visit, I got a burger that was pale and rather insignificant, with decent fries and friendly service. On the second visit, we ordered spare ribs that were inedible. Pale color, little sauce, and a taste as if the meat had been left unrefrigerated for too long. The coleslaw was similarly fermented. The currywurst we ordered as an alternative never arrived.

Terrible service, which I have seen in my life, they brought hot food. And we asked for at least forks 🤣 and the waiter even asked again for forks? No, we have to eat with our hands. We ordered food with bread, everyone ate the bread and they never brought it. If you want to eat, I recommend it, if you want to get nervous, I don't recommend it. P.s. and the waiters are just slow. You have to remind them 10 times that you have already ordered.

We booked a table at 7:00 p.m. and by 7:30 p.m., we still hadn't received our order. Not even drinks. So we left. Never going there again.

We visited as a large family group. Even though it wasn’t a particularly busy time, our orders were very delayed. Some of the children received their meals, while others didn’t. My schnitzel arrived 55 minutes later — after everyone else had finished eating. The most disappointing part was the rude and unfriendly behavior of most of the staff. I’ve rarely encountered such impolite service. Only one young waitress was kind and understanding, and she apologized sincerely for the delays. The schnitzel from the kids’ menu was very small — even for a child — and the overall food quality was mediocre at best.

After 1 1/2 hours we said that we didn't need our food anymore and that we wanted to pay.
