Reck's Hotel-Restaurant in Salem

Definitely one of the best restaurants in the entire Lake Constance area. Sensational food with fantastic service from the owners. We'll be back again and again.

High-quality cuisine and very good service!

Six of us stayed for one night. Three beautiful rooms, spacious and comfortable. Dinner in one of three differently decorated dining rooms was delicious. The breakfast also left nothing to be desired. We might come back here again if we get the chance 😊

A wonderful place to dine. On our trip through the Lake Constance district, we came across Reck's Restaurant. When we made our reservation request, they very kindly confirmed a table for two, even though a larger group was expected that evening. We have rarely enjoyed such a wonderfully composed and well-rounded menu as we did here. Fine ingredients, refined yet subtle spices made the dishes a culinary delight. The service was exceptionally relaxed, accommodating, and always friendly. The ambiance in the dining room was a feast for the eyes: fresh, real roses on every table, ceramics, decorative items, furniture; there was always something to discover. Thank you for the extraordinary experience that brings body and soul together. We will visit the hotel again in due course.

My husband and I had hoped for a pleasant evening, but the restaurant was disappointing. We had to wait a long time for someone to show us our reserved table. Then we waited forever for the lady to come to our table and bring us the menu. The appetizer was served quickly, and then we sat for 30 minutes with our empty plates. It took an hour for the main course to arrive!!! We were ignored the entire time. The staff didn't ask if we wanted anything else or if we were happy with the food. If you value good service, you should avoid this restaurant! We give it one star for the good quality of the meat.

The restaurant offered a mixed experience. The food was good, but the service was disappointing. The aperitif was served after the meal, and the drinks menu was withheld from us. Desserts arrived at different times, and the staff didn't ask for any other requests or whether the food was tasty, which often made us feel ignored. When we announced that we were changing restaurants due to the lack of drinks, we received only a terse apology. Overall, the service was inattentive, which overshadowed the positive food. I can only recommend the restaurant with reservations.

Our room in the main building; the bed, mattress, and slatted frame were old, poor sleep quality, and needed replacing. The water in the shower also drained poorly. The owners should inspect the rooms to identify any defects.

I'm a repeat offender: a superb hotel with an even better restaurant: the three sisters, the chef, the sommelier, and the main person in the restaurant are all sisters. With such love and precision, you are rewarded with excellent food. I'd be happy to return again and again.

Pleasant, comfortable, and well-decorated hotel and restaurant with a beautiful terrace. The only downsides are the restaurant's slightly high prices, the slightly dated bathroom, and the TV with only German channels. Otherwise, it's very good.

The food at Reck's is truly excellent. Everything I've eaten so far has been fantastic. The Wiener Schnitzel is beautifully buttery and tender, and you can sometimes hear it being freshly pounded. The beef fillets are perfectly cooked, the sauces are consistently excellent, the salads even more so, and the desserts are also a dream. The dining rooms have a lot of charm and flavor, a bit like they've come from another era. The terrace is also beautiful in summer. And the service is particularly great. The owners serve you themselves, and you can tell that hospitality is in their blood. Authentically friendly, effortless, charming, and attentive. I'm glad I discovered this restaurant in the Michelin Guide.

The lovingly decorated restaurant demonstrates the tremendous skill and attention to detail with which the three leading ladies have approached their task. I enjoy being a guest here and am always delighted by the warmth and professionalism with which this establishment is run. The cuisine is superb, the sauces are divine, and the service is charming. They truly honor their heritage. You'll find a special compliment for the cuisine in the space provided.

We stayed in a garden room, very modern with everything you need, including a separate toilet and shower. The main house is more rustic but very cozy, and the terrace with the beautiful garden is a dream. What I would particularly like to emphasize, however, is the friendliness of all the staff; everyone greets you, and the service in the restaurant is second to none. The food was also very delicious and generous. I would love to come back. Thank you again for a wonderful weekend.

We were invited to a birthday party in the hotel's ballroom last year, and because we enjoyed it so much, we returned for a weekend. The ambiance, service, and food were fantastic. The menu isn't extensive, but the ingredients were all fresh, high-quality, and lovingly prepared. We received excellent wine advice, and the waitresses were all very attentive, prompt, and friendly. Great Food - Bad Service Four of us went to dinner with friends, and everyone had something different. In my opinion, the menu could have been a bit more extensive, but ultimately, everyone found something they liked, and the quality of the food was truly top-notch. It was very appealing both in terms of taste and appearance. The service, however, was, to put it mildly, abysmal. After we finished our main course, our plates weren't cleared for 20 minutes, despite four requests. The manager, her sister, and her assistant walked past our table several times, deeming it more important to clear glasses and bottles from neighboring tables. Even after the fifth request to the manager to please come to our table and clear the plates, she was too good for herself and arrogantly gestured to her assistant to clear them away. This meant that we didn't need to order dessert, as we hadn't had the opportunity to reorder drinks for quite some time, apart from the plates that hadn't been cleared away. The subsequent apology that it was too busy is unacceptable and unprofessional for the standards the establishment sets for itself. The apology was also more feigned than sincere, as we had the impression that regular guests were prioritized and given preferential treatment. When we asked for immediate payment of the bill, there was no offer of an espresso or liqueur on the house. Despite the good food, which isn't exactly inexpensive, the overall impression remains poor. Dear Ms. Annette Reck, I hope you read this review and reflect on it so that other guests don't experience the same thing we did. We won't be coming again.

Wir waren von dem Service und der Herzlichkeit sehr angetan. U.a. hatten wir die sehr gute Fischterrine und den perfekten Zwiebelrostbraten. Die Weinkarte ist gutbestückt. Unser Superior Doppelzimmer war riesig und am nächsten Morgen hatten wir auch an dem sehr guten Frühstücksbuffet nicht auszusetzen. Schade war nur, das das Wetter einen Aufenthalt in dem liebevoll gepflegten Garten bzw. auf der Terrasse nicht zuliess

The bathroom with toilet is also very attractive. Special thanks to the cleaners for their excellent work. The breakfast buffet is great and the dinner leaves nothing to be desired. The kitchen crew definitely deserves at least two stars. The location of the hotel is quiet and very central. The garden invites you to take a leisurely walk and you can relax in the sauna. The house values ​​ecological products and sustainable service. The parking problem is well solved. The “hotel” is a very nice and good hotel with a high level of comfort. We will definitely book this hotel again on our next Lake Constance vacation.

Le parc qui entoure l'hôtel est très bien entretenu et très agréable. Parking aisé aussi bien pour les voitures que pour les motos. Hôtel très calme et très propre. Chambres spacieuses et confortables. Le buffet du petit déjeuner est bien garni et très varié. Le repas du soir est excellent. Que des éloges vis à vis de cet hôtel. Nous étions un groupe de 35 personnes et tout le monde a apprécié les services de cet hôtel.

The hotel offers plenty of parking spaces and is located opposite the train station in Mimmenhausen. The large garden is an oasis of peace and you can unwind with a glass of wine.

Beautiful facility, ambience and rooms and good fresh food. Bread without butter, oil or lard and without a plate on the table before eating. Somewhat stiff, cool type of service, doesn't seem authentically friendly, everything is superficial. You cannot dine here with small children. Overall, there is no real feeling of well-being.

We've been to Reck's several times to enjoy ourselves. This time we unfortunately realized that there was a lack of taste and sophistication. As always, the ingredients were all very fresh and of good quality.

Stumbled across this family run hotel and restaurant on a trip across Europe. The service was top quality, warm and friendly. Rooms clean and comfortable. Dinner was fresh, local ingredients in fabulous dishes. White asparagus featured which was sublime. Sadly we had no room for dessert as the portions were quite large. Will definitely revisit for a longer stay

The best restaurant far and wide. I celebrated my birthday there with several people and it was just great. My guests received a very warm welcome and everyone got their room according to their needs. The food was great, the service was great and the breakfast was the icing on the cake. I was particularly impressed by the many different jams, all of which were homemade, and the otherwise very extensive buffet, of course with many offerings of the best quality. If you really want to eat well or celebrate, this is the place for you. Thank you very much for this wonderful evening.

We sat in the red room. The room temperature was too cold. The meat quality was very good, but no roasted flavors, I think it was cooked sous vide. The sauce was just an extract (just broth) and the food came lukewarm.

Excellent hotel that underlines its charm with an attractive art collection. Almost a small attraction in itself. The hotel seems to be a family business and you can feel it. Not only is the staff very friendly and considerate, but they are also incredibly warm towards our children. We really liked the food, carefully chosen dishes and extremely finely prepared. The restaurant rooms each have their own theme and correspondingly designed ambience. People enjoy spending time here. We would like to thank you for the lovely stay.

Wir haben kürzlich unsere Weihnachtsfeier dort verbracht und waren allesamt sehr zufrieden. Die Speisen sind zusagend, gehobene Küche und feine Weine, erlesene Auswahl an Spirituosen. Sowohl mit dem Auto als auch mit der Bahn sehr gut erreichbar und einfach sehr gemütlich. Gerne wieder.

Wir als Dienstleister Floristik kommen immer wieder einmal dazu im Reck eine Veranstaltung blumig abzurunden. Die Zusammenarbeit ist immer freundlich, hilfsbereit und zuvorkommend. Wir waren am 25.9. zum Mittagessen nachdem wir bei Slowfood eine Empfehlung für das Restaurant gefunden hatten. Und wir können diese Empfehlung teilen. Ein sehr gemütliches Restaurant, ausgezeichneter Service und Klasse Küche. Wir haben uns extrem wohlgefühlt .

A very cute and functional guest house located a good drive from Bodensee. The staff oz professionalism, dedication, and service to their guests as well as generous hospitality. The newly renovated rooms were spacious, functional and thoroughly cleaned everyday. Access to their sauna was included which was very modern. Highlight was the restaurant, breakfast and the staff!

We were altogether 5 adults for lunch. No extra decoration on the table for the anniversary, nor anything extra for the anniversary couple (as it is custom in other restaurants) The aperitif Aperol with rhubarb was average and was served with a dining fork in the glass to get a small piece of strawberry out. A cocktail stick would be more elegant. My main dish was a steak dish with local pasta. No salad included. So I had a salad as a starter. The food was alright but it didn't justify the high prices. It was more expensive than dining out in an upmarket restaurant in Central London. I just wish the anniversary couple would have had a better experience.

This is a family owned and managed hotel-restaurant and they go above and beyond to make you feel at home. As soon as you arrive you are greeted by one of the friendliest person you will find at the hotel. And throughout your stay you will find other friendly staff who will greet and make sure you are taken care of. The rooms are vintage and spacious. The food is AMAZING! Everyday they would have a special recommendation and you should trust them.
