As soon as we entered, we greeted the bartender and apologized for speaking English and not knowing German. In response, he looked at us very rudely and dismissively and did not even reply. After that, we asked if we could have a menu. He read what we translated for him, and again, very rudely and in a raised voice, told us that they were closing soon and that this place was only for German-speaking people. Very upset, he handed us the menu and once again rudely reminded us that we were not welcome there because we were not Germans. After that, of course, we left. We are very hurt and disappointed. Following this experience, we no longer felt any desire to go anywhere else, as we had a very bad experience. We are sorry, but Germans are also tourists in other countries, and this should not be forgotten, friends. Especially in my country, Georgia, we have many German tourists whom we host very warmly. We did not expect such a reception

We entered politely and apologized for not speaking German, trying our best to communicate in English, even used sign language to make her understand international language. From the very beginning, the staff member was unnecessarily rude and dismissive. Even after we used a translation app to make communication easier, she continued speaking German in a hostile tone, clearly showing no interest in helping or accommodating us — despite the fact that translation tools work both ways. This did not feel like a simple language barrier. It felt like intentional unfriendliness toward non-German speakers. Hospitality means making guests feel welcome, not uncomfortable or inferior because of the language they speak. If you don’t want international customers, then say so openly. Otherwise, basic politeness and respect should apply to everyone. I would not return and cannot recommend this place to anyone visiting from abroad

Centrally located restaurant in Düsseldorf-Eller. Traditional German cuisine at moderate prices. Seasonal specials. Delicious Schlüssel Alt beer on tap. Friendly and competent service! Often musical events on weekends.

Good restaurant. We went there for dinner for the second time today. Nice, cozy, home-style restaurant with equally good cuisine. I had the Sauerbraten with red cabbage and dumplings today. It was a real treat. Super tender meat with a perfectly balanced sauce and delicious red cabbage. The server was very attentive and extremely friendly. You could tell he loved his job and cared about the well-being of his guests. It was also no problem bringing our dog. The only complaint I could make is the wait, but we were understanding given the busy place and the à la carte orders. So my tip would be: Definitely give it a try. 👍👍👍

The pub is bigger inside than it looks from the outside. It is still typically Düsseldorf and you can still play bowling there.

I was actually very, very positively surprised. As a diabetic, I thought I would “just” eat a simple salad. But no, he was great! Big compliment. With the salad I had an omelet with tomatoes, which was also really tasty.

If you want really good home cooking then go to the Ratte, delicious food and good portions, especially perfect depending on the season, they also come up with events, keep it up

Gute und freundliche Bedienung keine lange Wartezeiten auf die Getränke und dem Essen.

Wir waren gestern dort mit der Familie zum Essen und Trinken und fanden alles sehr lecker und frisch zubereitet. Wir hatten überwiegend Schnitzel bestellt, die echt super und reichlich waren. Die Speisekarte ist auch sehr vielseitig. Die Getränkekarte auch. Alles da, was das Herz begehrt. Die lieben Kellner gaben alles, da es gestern auch noch sehr voll war. Wir mussten noch nicht einmal lange warten. Es gab auch noch als Vorspeise eine Gulaschsuppe, die auch sehr lecker war! Alles in allem ein sehr schöner Abend, den wir genossen haben. Wir kommen jetzt öfter! Sehr zu empfehlen, gute deutsche Küche.

Typische Kneipe Veranstaltung Preis/Leistung absolut in Ordnung, netter Abend

Ich habe nun ein Jahr aufgesetzt weil mir so einiges gar nicht gefallenen hat. Heute war ich wieder da und begeistert von der Karte und meiner Bestellung. Beispiel: Wirsing Gemüse, saure Bohnen (Schnibbelbohnen), Wirsingrouladen, usw. Toll!

Gute Durchgangskneipe incl leckerem Bierchen.Für mehr reicht es leider nicht.

Von Außen etwas unscheinbar. Es sieht eher nach einer kleinen einfachen Kneipe aus, entpuppt sich jedoch hinter dem Schankraum als großzügig eingerichtete Speisegaststätte. Der Service ist nett, freundlich, etwas kumpelhaft, was uns gefiel. Eben nicht steif. Das Essen war sehr gut und die Portionen machten satt, ohne schwer im Magen zu liegen.

Richtig schön hier. Wir kommen wieder.

Bin sehr angenehm überrascht wie positiv das ganze Lokal , Essen ,Service und Ambiente sich verändert hat. Ein sehr freundlicher Kellner , das Essen war sehr gut und es war schon weihnachtlich alles dekoriert!! Werde es natürlich weiter empfehlen.

Ganz gerne mal für ein Snack & Bier.... zu empfehlen
