Service is catastrophic, we wait and wait, others have already left...

We've always been to your brunch twice a year, but now we'll unfortunately have to find a new place. The buffet has shrunk considerably, and the quality has also declined considerably.

Unfortunately, we were disappointed. The food was much better.

An interesting place from an architectural point of view. I recommend it.

Truly heavenly experience at this beautiful restaurant. The most amazing buffet with food prepared so deliciously and must be a chef who loves cooking. The female Matrix D is gorgeous filled with smiles and welcoming aura. Very good food. Ambience: Plenty of space inside and outside. Service: Fast, friendly, and courteous. That's how it should be, top-notch. Price/performance ratio is just about average.

We were very satisfied with the starter and main course. Everything tasted great. The atmosphere inside was very nice, but we sat outside in the beautiful weather. The service was very friendly.

We were there by chance and reserved a table for brunch on Sunday. We got it quickly and Lena explained brunch to us. The dishes are absolutely beautifully presented and taste excellent. Unfortunately, the lunch dishes weren't to my taste. The service and the ambience in the vaulted cellar are extremely inviting and the chairs are very comfortable. A great place. Very very good food, nice atmosphere and very friendly staff. One of the best steaks I've ever eaten! Highly recommended. Everything great.

Unbeatable food, service, atmosphere. We ordered the most tender ox jaws (secret recipe😉), with delicious mashed potatoes, asparagus, crispy vegetable chips, delicious sauce etc. In addition, fresh local draft beer. We ended the dinner with a dream of a freshly baked chocolate cake with a liquid center, berries and vanilla ice cream. What a fantastic experience - we will definitely be back the next time we visit beautiful Rostock.

Very dark, Ratskeller, rich offering, far too much breakfast and lunch. In the Ratskeller, the clocks have stopped like in the old days, unfortunately you can also see it in the sanitary area. It was very loud

We went to the buffet today and can only say: fantastic! The extensive selection and quality of the dishes are terrific. There were no wishes left unfulfilled. Even drinks are included, from juice to water to sparkling wine. The ambience in the old vaults is second to none and the service is extremely friendly and attentive. We were particularly excited that, in addition to cow's milk, there was also oat milk and soy yogurt. Top! And what we also thought was really great: nothing is wasted here. Towards the end of the buffet, you can "dab" the leftovers for a small fee and take them home. We've never seen anything like this before and we think every restaurant should do it like that! The Ratskeller12 will definitely see us again. Keep it up!

Great location and always friendly staff

I was there for brunch on a Sunday (in the basement). I went there for the very first time, and I'm absolutely thrilled...not just with the overall ambiance, but also with the entire display for and during brunch. Absolutely delicious things to enjoy and relax in. The seating is quiet and comfortable. Unfortunately, the restrooms need an overhaul; loose fixtures and toilet seats are pretty annoying. They ruin the overall atmosphere. But overall, it still gets 5 stars because the staff definitely make up for it.

Went to brunch in the Ratskeller on Sunday as a couple. The food was OK. The location too. The brunch would definitely have been really good. Got a table at 12 p.m. (brunch from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.). It was our first brunch and we didn't think anything of it. You are greeted warmly and taken to the table, but then nothing is explained to you. No information, which meant we only discovered later that we could only get lunch. And then only one plate because of the huge crowd. We were only offered lunch and then paid the full price for it. 40€ for water and a plate, or just lunch. You're always smarter in hindsight. I can still accept the service thing, but the "wrong" reservation, I don't know what I can say about it. Let's see if we go there again to eat a la carte.

We got a table at short notice without a reservation and received a very warm welcome. The service was very attentive and friendly, and the food was fantastic. The schnitzel was very tender and crispy, and my ox cheek melted in my mouth. Thank you for a lovely evening before our visit to the Stadthalle with Dieter Nuhr. Great team and great restaurant I went to the Ratskeller for a second time, this time with my girls and with a table reservation. What can I say... Once again, we had a delicious meal (the beef fillet was so tender), were served very well, and had a lovely evening before the event at the Stadthalle. Afterwards, we returned to the over-30s party and danced and danced because the music was amazing. So, many thanks to the entire team for another lovely evening.

We were invited here for brunch for a birthday. It was well organized. Very cozy. High-quality food, drinks, sweets, fish, everything is included. Of course also sparkling wine. An all-round successful birthday. Thank you very much, gladly again. And because we were briefly seated at the wrong table, there was a small apology. Great gesture!

Overall, the brunch is highly recommended. Unfortunately, the service didn't keep up with the clearing, but that will definitely be expanded. The food was delicious and no wishes were left unfulfilled. You can save yourself the lunch portion and instead grab the breakfast buffet again! The kitchen staff is really great and really contributes to the good mood!

My best friend and I went there today for Women's Day brunch. The reception was extremely friendly, the woman from the kitchen was also in a good mood and immediately toasted us. Overall, everyone who worked there was very nice, had a smile on their faces and that's important. You feel at home as a guest. The buffet was very large, varied and had something for everyone! The visit there was very worthwhile and we were definitely not there for the last time.

We were guests today for Women's Day breakfast. Very nice atmosphere. Super delicious buffet. Great service. We had a lovely time. We can highly recommend it.

Wir waren im Mai 2022 das letzte Mal im Ratskeller und total begeistert. Hatten uns danach einen Gutschein schenken lassen, den wir jetzt endlich mal einlösen wollten. Das Essen war wieder gut, aber erst leider wurde erst bei einer Haupspeise die Soßenbeilage vergessen und dann bei der Nachspeise die Hauptkomponente. Die Servicekraft musste die Küche davor noch einmal ans Dessert erinnern. Es gab auch keine Entschuldigung. Sorry, aber sowas sollte nicht passieren bei einem Restaurant in diesem Preissegment.

Today we went to Ratskeller for brunch again. As always, it was great, the large selection for breakfast and then the warm part for lunch is just really good. The atmosphere is great, the service is great! Not to forget the kitchen staff with the lively music that encouraged us to sing along:) Another very nice Sunday with you. New Year's Eve party turned out to be a seniors' meeting. Not recommended for younger audiences. Kick-off at 6:00 p.m., no program other than a DJ for the rest of the evening. Berliners were dry, there was no celebratory menu (nothing that you wouldn't prepare yourself at home), the buffet wasn't refilled, there was no service contact with the guest if you sat a bit apart. Unfortunately far too expensive for the offer provided.

Went there for brunch on Saturday. The food was plentiful, varied and delicious, and from 12 p.m. onwards some items were replaced with lunch. The service was quick and friendly, even the head chef (I think) came out occasionally to ask if everything was OK. The ambience is also great, rustic, cozy and still chic. Price/performance ratio is really okay, especially since all drinks are included. For example, you can get as many bottles of champagne as you want.

Beautiful location, staff, the food was a 10/10 and the cocktails were made with a lot of dedication. Highly recommended.

We were there spontaneously with a group of 18 people and had a delicious lunch there. It was very good service and the food was very lovingly and exceptionally prepared. The restaurant can be reached barrier-free if someone from the staff operates the elevator.

We went there with our family for Christmas brunch. We do this every year and we've enjoyed it here the best so far. Very, very friendly staff, a good volume where you can still have a conversation, coziness and, above all, great food. This was remodeled at 12 noon. Red white wine and Prosecco as well as juice, water and coffee were included. Only the toilets were no longer very inviting towards the end, so a quick interim cleaning would have been necessary. But overall a very successful day, thank you very much!

Tuna Tatiki as a starter convinced me and was very delicious. Everything came together well and was a pleasant portion. However, the cheese spaetzle completely disappointed me. I've never had such bad cheese spaetzle, completely overloaded with spring onions and parsley. The cheese was stringy in the sauce and not homogeneous. I felt like it was simply a water broth with a hint of cheese. Extremely bad. Unfortunately.

We were there in a large group. Ambiance was nice, toilets unclean and old. The menu was very limited. Some of the dishes (duck) were really very good, others below average. Drinks very expensive. The store itself claims to have a large selection of gin and practically presents gin as a house specialty. But this was the biggest cheek in a long time. The waiter was very friendly most of the evening. When we complained about the weak mixed gin drinks, the waiter came back with two shot glasses and refilled them. Only then, two seconds later, did he tell us that he now had to charge for the two schnapps to make up for our drinks. This was really completely unacceptable. In summary, little accommodating towards the guests, quality of the food fluctuates from very good to below average. I wouldn't go there again.

We were there for the Christmas buffet and were thoroughly satisfied! When we entered we were greeted very warmly and taken straight to our table after we had given our reservation details. The selection was plentiful and the food was very tasty and really nicely presented and prepared. The staff was consistently friendly and all food was refilled in a timely manner. Restauranten kører buffet til 36 Euro til jul. Man kan ikke vælge andet. Lyder som en rimelig pris men du får mulighed for lidt tør and, laks og diverse tilbehør. Ost og kage har stået alt for længe… Den ene stjerne er for restaurantens service og hyggelige miljø. Men lad vær at falde i fælden og tro du kommer og får god mad.

Always an experience, even after so many years. A pleasure and a really nice ambience and the courteous staff was the icing on the cake. Very happy again!

Great atmosphere, wonderful modern concept integrated into the old Ratskeller. Cozy, romantic, comfortable, modern, elegant. Very, very good food, sufficient quantity and excellent quality. From our point of view it is good value for money, as the quantity, quality, taste and presentation of the food are excellent. The highlight is the really unusually exquisite, courteous, polite and attentive service. All in all, a real gem and an absolute recommendation! Important: Be sure to reserve a table

Leider bin ich überhaupt nicht zufrieden. Am 08.11.2024 waren wir im Ratskeller, Mein Mann hatte Haxe,die sehr lecker war. Ich hatte mir einen Burger bestellt mit Süsskartoffelpommes. Pommes waren sehr lecker ,leider war der Burger nicht so gut.Das Fleisch war sowas von roh,das geht garnicht.Die Kellnerin hat sich auch entschuldigt und wollte alles neu machen.Es war aber schon nach 20.00 Uhr und sie sagte auch das wird dauern.Ich bin der Meinung das ,daß Burgerfleisch aus dem Frost war und nicht frisch.Wir haben uns geeinigt das wir das Essen nicht bezahlen müssen. Leider waren die Toiletten bei den Damen auch nicht gereinigt worden.Seife war nicht aufgefüllt ,da stand ein Plastikbehäler mit Seife ,den man eigentlich umfüllt in den Seifenspender.Jeder nahm das Ding in die Hand ,musste es aufschrauben und sich auf die Hand kippen.Die riesen Rolle zum abtrocknen stand auch daneben und nicht in der vorgesehene Halterung. Ist das hygienisch.? Das Papier lag auf den ganzen Fußboden verstreut. Gehobene Ambiente ? Niemals!

A dream of a roast with good gratin. Very tender spare ribs with a strong sauce and delicious bread. A little too dark for our place. Drinks should come quicker (approx. 30 minutes). Staff very friendly.

A friend and I met for brunch in the Ratskeller for the first time. The lady who welcomed us explained everything to us calmly and promised us that we would definitely want to come back afterwards. Food wasn't good. Meat was tough, taste not good. After criticism, the waiter then sent a very young but nice colleague, it wasn't good that he didn't come! Espresso as compensation for uneaten meat? 25€, I was very annoyed about it. It's a shame about the meat!! because someone didn't want it?

It was very dark in the restaurant and I actually like to see what I have on my plate. Unfortunately the waitress didn't go out of his way and we had to wait a long time.

The three of us went to brunch on Sunday... we were greeted in a very friendly manner... Magda, who was in service at the time, was in a really good mood and always had a good saying to say... which was... personally and my husband and mother-in-law really liked it...the other two ladies in service also did a great job, always a friendly smile and always super quick at the table...unfortunately we only have one lovely, nice woman from the kitchen.....so a big compliment to the rest of the kitchen that we didn't get to see.....everything was really great....we'll be back

A great restaurant in the heart of Rostock. There are fewer and fewer Ratskellers and it's nice that they can be preserved with modern concepts. The burgers are great, the wild boar is super tasty. The homemade lemonades are also particularly good. The atmosphere is really nice and the service is attentive but not intrusive.

From 15 people you get a reduced ticket. Of the 5 main courses and 2 starters, one main course and one starter were omitted without replacement. My plate didn't contain all of the components from the menu. The first drink could only be ordered after about half an hour and was only available after 45 minutes. If I had been there privately, I would have left long ago.

We were in the Ratskeller with a larger group. The first impression was already sobering: the bench at one of the tables reserved for us was pretty full of crumbs. Then our drink order wasn't taken because not all of us were there yet. And even after we had occupied the four tables assigned to us, we had to run after them again so that our drink requests were finally accepted. When it was finally time to order the food after the drinks had been served, the orders were initially taken at only one of the four tables and communicated to the kitchen. When the lady came back to take the further orders, there was a bitter disappointment for some of us: one of the main courses from which we were allowed to choose (the selection had been limited by the restaurant due to the size of the group) was only for the three of us available to us who ordered it first. We also had to specifically request a drinks menu, as there was only the small menu on the tables with the dishes pre-selected by the restaurant: 2 starters, 5 or 6 main courses, 1 dessert. But it got even stranger: one of us, who was a bit disappointed that he hadn't been able to order the "insider tip" advertised on the small menu (see above), was brusquely told that he just had to accept that. He was addressed as a "young man", which didn't seem charming or humorous at all. It sounded more like a reprimand from a younger child. Overall, our impression of the service was so bad that we ended up tipping EUR 0. Something that has probably never happened before in our history. I can add the following about the food: The fries and the small tomato salad could have scored points in terms of taste if they hadn't been soggy and lukewarm. And by “dip” I imagine something other than plain mayonnaise or ketchup. Oh well. Unfortunately that was nothing...

Great food, great service, great evening.

It deserves 5 stars. We ate there for our parents' golden wedding anniversary. There was an interesting menu. The service was professional, the food was fantastic, thank you very much. We knew it from before; a lot had changed over that time. It looks great. We will be there again soon. A good time.

We had brunch on Saturday with 25 people. 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Nice atmosphere, nice staff and a super tasty buffet with everything you need to start the day or to eat fat and well 😊👍. All the guests were totally thrilled and as a host I have to say, always happy. It should also be mentioned that the quality of the food and drinks for this price is simply unbeatable. We would all be happy to come back. Thank you again for the lovely day.

Very nice restaurant with well made food, pleasant atmosphere and good service. A must go place in Rostock.

Had a spontaneous meal there and well, it was fine. We had the lukewarm goat cheese with beetroot and the so-called roast beef or something like that. Beetroot with goat cheese: Goat cheese was forgotten at first, but was made after it was pointed out. Far too little salad. The “roast roast”: It's just a 250g rump steak which is cooked sous vide and then briefly fried. For me it had nothing to do with a roast but for what it was it was ok. The only problem was that it arrived cold at first. But upon request it was also served hot. Later I noticed that the spinach salad was missing. The pepper sauce was really good and the homemade fried onions were also good. We wanted to pay by card, but unfortunately I didn't have enough cash with me. What would be nice would be to ask whether it tasted good and whether everything was OK. Then I could have saved myself the review.

Great food, great atmosphere and very friendly staff

We were there in the middle of the week around 8 p.m. very nice and attentive service, we both ate the knuckle and it tasted great (the crust was crispy and the meat was tender) the sauerkraut was awesome as was the sauce, there were mashed potatoes and it's really not expensive either. Beautiful restaurant in a historic building, beautifully furnished and designed under vaults. Main room and side rooms. Friendly, competent, attentive service staff. Food freshly cooked and prepared.

We went to Ratskeller 12 for Saturday brunch to celebrate a big birthday. The welcome from Magda was very warm and we felt very welcome. The food was consistently very good and our guests were really impressed by the variety and the taste. Price and performance were really reasonable. Thanks to the music from the kitchen, the mood among us was very good. The word kitchen party came up 😅. We are very happy to give our recommendation and would be happy to come back.

Ambitious cuisine, unfortunately it stays that way. A dish for gluten allergy sufferers. The service on the second evening was without ambition.

A typical German style restaurant needed to walk downstairs, but the food was well worth it. The atmosphere was excellent. The service was excellent. They had a menu in English. We enjoyed a very relaxing lunch. If we’re in Rostock, we will come here again.

Spaghetti lime etc. Had no taste, dry without sauce, not seasoned, goat cheese for which you have to pay an extra €8, didn't taste like anything. I've never eaten such bad, bone-dry spaghetti. 1 star is still too much.

Ich habe bei Ihnen mit Familie und Freunden meinen 60. Geburtstag gefeiert. Ausnahmslos alle Gäste waren begeistert. Das Essen war sehr gut und das Personal sehr freundlich. Auf jeden Fall können und werden wir den Ratskeller 12 weiter empfehlen. Als negativen Kritikpunkt muß ich leider anmerken. Zum Beginn der Veranstaltung wurde bemerkt, das der Fahrstuhl defekt ist. Es war in der ganzen Zeit ( 5 Stunden) nicht möglich das Problem zu beheben. In so einem Gebäude wie das Rathaus, in welchem die Bürgermeisterin ihr Büro hat und wo Barrierefreiheit ein ganz großes Thema sein sollte darf so etwas nicht passieren. Zu mal wurden die Gäste und ältere Herrschaften sich selbst überlassen, es wurde vom Team des Hauses in dieser Sache keine Hilfe angeboten. In summer it's nice to get one of the seats outside. You're in the middle of the city and every now and then the tram passes right in front of you. Nevertheless, it is actually quiet and very cozy here and the sun shines on your stomach until the evening. :) The menu shows a really good selection of dishes to suit every taste, the prices are fair. Yesterday I had the summer pasta (spaghettini, pistachio-lime pesto, snow peas, baby peas, oven-baked tomatoes, parmesan crunch) and fried two king prawns in garlic oil - that was pretty much the tastiest thing I've eaten lately, honestly ! A little wine or various Rostock beers, that's all you need.

I had lunch here during my day of city tour in Rostock. I was the only guest at that time (it was very warm outside, but that was also the reason why I chose the Ratskeller. Nice and cool here while eating). I particularly liked the ambience, very stylishly furnished and yet cozy. The service was very attentive, I had my drink (apple juice spritzer) straight away and when I had a question about an ingredient after the meal, I asked specifically in the kitchen. I had the “warm beetroot with goat cheese (beetroot from the oven with farmer's yogurt, goat cheese in a chili-sesame coating, baby leaf, orange varnish, blue poppy seed pesto and baguette)”. It was really very good, attractively presented and I particularly liked the blue poppy seed pesto (that was also what I asked about). My conclusion: very good food in a great atmosphere with very attentive service. And the price is also completely right.

Typical tourist shop. I can highly recommend the restaurant for guests with less demands.

After dinner, we went to the Ratskeller for brunch on Sunday. In terms of the friendliness of the staff, it was a pleasure this time too. A smile to greet you, and always approachable and very friendly even during brunch. I'm a bit conflicted about the food. I didn't find the high level of creativity from the previous dinner here. Yes, there was a wide selection, but wouldn't it have been possible to offer more healthy and vegetarian food? Again, this assessment is based on the comparison to the creative and excellent dinner.

Worst treatment I have ever received. Come at 5:30 p.m. No guests there but we could come back in 30 minutes. Come after 30 minutes. Then we would get a table 1 hour later. Terribly bad. There were only a few guests at 6pm. Became another restaurant with good food and nice staff.

We went there without making a reservation, they were very polite and after a moment we were assigned a table for 6 people. Food was delicious, I would eat there again and again with my family.

We celebrated our graduation ceremony yesterday and had a buffet ink.alkf. Drinks paid €50, the price was completely fine, but unfortunately it was very disappointing when you order a buffet with 100 people then you have to calculate it for that many people. We waited for the rush at the buffet and went to the buffet about 20 minutes after it started. When we arrived, the cold portion was almost empty, only a little cheese, peppers, cucumber and lettuce was over. When we asked if it would be refilled, we were told there was nothing left and could cannot be restocked. We were really disappointed. I work for a partner who often sends groups to the Ratskeller, so we thought it was the right choice but unfortunately it wasn't a good idea. Many parents and students were very disappointed.
