Lunch Box in Rostock

We went out for lunch with colleagues. I ordered curry with chicken. What arrived was curry without chicken. The portion size was tiny and couldn't possibly satisfy anyone. My chicken arrived 20 minutes later, dry and in a bowl, after I asked about it. So, for dessert, we had dry chicken. I won't be back!

We used to eat at Lunchbox all the time. The food was always really delicious and we always left feeling full. A few days ago, we went there again after a long time and were quite disappointed. We had to add salt to the spaghetti three times, the portion was significantly smaller than before, and the service used to be much faster (even though it wasn't even half full and you basically do everything by phone anyway). We got our cocktails during happy hour, so luckily we only paid for one. Otherwise, it wouldn't have been worth the money. What a shame :(

Unfortunately, the quality and value for money have declined significantly. The food was only lukewarm and the pesto was very oily. I used to love eating here, but I won't be coming back.

Lunchbox Eat Fresher is a popular spot in Rostock's city center for good reason: if you're looking for fresh and flexible dining options, it's easy to get the most out of your meal. A particularly convenient feature is the ability to customize your order – and the results are truly delicious. Orders are placed via QR code and mobile phone, which is modern but has a few drawbacks: there's no alternative to ordering via the app, and if you're dining together, everyone has to order using the same phone, which can be a bit cumbersome. This also means less interaction with the staff, which slightly diminishes the personal touch. Nevertheless, the concept is compelling: fresh food, fast service, and good quality. Overall, a successful visit – and we'll definitely be back.

We always enjoyed being guests at Lunchbox. Unfortunately, the recipes changed, and our favorite dishes (truffle pasta) were practically tasteless. Even the pesto rosse tasted different. It's a shame... There are no more smoothies on the menu either. Unfortunately, we won't be coming as often anymore.

Super friendly staff and ambiance... but... Years ago, we used to come here regularly. They had super delicious salads, bowls, and a heavenly blueberry smoothie. No more smoothies now, but instead a homemade blueberry spritzer. It was so sweet and tasted completely artificial. I've rarely drunk anything so inedible. Then I had truffle pesto... For €18.50, I felt sick afterwards. It was just greasy and tasteless. My husband ate the rest because, stupidly, you don't want to waste anything at that price. Then he felt sick, too. His curry was neither good nor bad, he said. So... What a shame, what a shame, what a shame... Unfortunately, that was probably the last time. Guys, you were really great... By the way, the restaurant was unusually empty compared to previous years, so you probably don't need to order anymore.

I've ordered from this restaurant twice now. I'm totally disappointed with the food. Last time, it was vegan pesto pasta, which was incredibly oily and lacked salt or flavor. It simply tasted bland. I'm sorry, but Italian food can't taste like that. Unfortunately, the ambiance can't make up for the better experience.

We used to enjoy coming here, but the friendliness of the staff has plummeted. Example from today: Completely empty, not a single customer, no reservations posted. I asked the waiter if we could take the brightly lit seat. This was confirmed. I had just sat down when the same waiter came and chased my wife and me away, telling us we weren't allowed to sit there. When we asked why we weren't sitting there, we were told that a reservation for this table might come online. When we asked if the table was reserved, we were told no. Since the lunch break is short, we're eating here now, but it will be the last time.

Simply delicious! Avocado salmon salad with scampi. And hot chocolate with marshmallows. The mango tea and bowls are also highly recommended! All dishes are freshly prepared! Very friendly staff. Two years later, things are different!! Unfortunately, everything has changed for the worse. The service is terrible! All the tables outside weren't cleared, one table was wobbly so we had to move, the ashtrays were full everywhere, and the underside of the table hadn't been swept!! Simply dirty and not at all inviting. After I pointed out to two girls why people would go back inside empty-handed without taking anything with them, they just gave me stupid replies! The menu isn't as varied anymore, and the mango tea was missing. We got up and left! What a shame. I've heard the same opinion from other guests! Apparently, they don't need it anymore!

A very friendly welcome, and the atmosphere was also fine. The beer was very good, but the tomato soup was spaghetti sugo. Much too thick and lukewarm. Actually, it's not recommended for eating, especially when it comes to the tomato soup.

I had hoped for more. Ambience: Standard; nothing fancy. Restrooms are a bit run down. Starter: Tomato soup. Tasted okay, but not hot enough. Main Course 1: "Pasta Pesto Rosso" Spaghetti with tomato and chicken on the side. I had actually ordered beef as the meat filling; but then the waitress came and explained that they were out of beef. Overall, there were far too few vegetables and meat in the dish, and it tasted bland. The texture of the noodles was okay. Main Course 2: "Curry Bowl Sesame Thai Curry" Sweet potato and chicken were ordered as a side dish. The vegetables and sweet potato weren't cooked all the way through. Overall, there was too little sweet potato and too little meat. Tasted okay; but with those Thai coconut sauces, you can hardly go wrong. A primary school student could make this. Drinks: - Fresh mint tea - it was the best of all. - Homemade spritzer. It was okay. There was a lot of ice in the glass. All in all, the quality of the lunch box is comparable to a slightly better Asian fast food restaurant. However, it's significantly overpriced. Reduce prices by 40%, and that's fine.

ordered a wrap which turned out to be a whole bunch of lettuce in an uncooked tortilla that seemed like had just been removed from a freezer. absolutely no flavor and the wrap took ages to "prepare". a little bit of effort would have been nice. absolutely disappointed.

We come here often because it's a really nice place that serves delicious and light food—something you won't find anywhere else in Rostock. However, the menu has changed over time: Some dishes I really liked are unfortunately no longer available, for example, the previous selection of rice varieties in the bowls. Currently, there are only two bowls to choose from, but they are still very tasty.

Very service-oriented and friendly staff. Ordering is done at the table via QR code. The food was prepared quickly and was fresh, but the tofu could use some improvement. Perhaps fry it a bit more or season it a bit, or perhaps choose a softer variety? That would be my personal preference. The price is also a bit higher than in other Asian restaurants, but the fancy ambiance makes up for it.

We were there today. Ordering via mobile was great, but unfortunately, the milk in the chocolate was very sour and smelled of cheese, and the milk in the latte macchiato also tasted sour. We asked about it and were told it wasn't true, and that the milk was freshly opened.

I had to wait 40 minutes for my order, even though the restaurant was empty, and the small tomato soup was missing the delicious feta, which I was so looking forward to :( Overall, unfortunately, for the price, it wasn't a good experience this time.

I'm a regular at "Lunchbox Rostock" and I'm always completely satisfied! The food is fresh, delicious, and prepared with love. You can tell they really put their heart and soul into it. The chef caters to individual requests, which I think is fantastic. The value for money is also absolutely spot on, and you get really good, balanced food at a fair price. I'm always happy to come back... a real recommendation! 🌟

I've eaten there several times. The food is usually okay, but nothing special. The drinks are good. The payment system is great, and the place is pleasantly decorated. So: "it's okay."

We ordered summer rolls as an appetizer, but instead got a bowl with shredded pre-made salad, black rice, and the wrong sauce. It didn't look like summer rolls, and it didn't taste like them either—more like a mixed-up plate of leftovers. When we complained, we were contradicted, as if it had been exactly what we wanted. Not customer-focused and unprofessional. The curry bowls that followed—almost the same ingredients as the appetizer. Barely any difference, little flavor, everything seemed rather cheaply bought and somehow watered down. The chicken we ordered separately for €4.90 was a few cheap, dry strips. All in all: too expensive for what's offered. Fresh and lovingly prepared can be done better.

Unfortunately, the food was disappointing. The summer rolls looked fresh and appealing in the pictures, with plenty of coriander and a light soy sauce, but what was served was a rather carelessly assembled roll with chopped, not-so-fresh-looking vegetables. My main course, the sesame curry bowl, consisted almost entirely of the same simple ingredients—mostly, it felt like a ready-made salad from a supermarket bag, lacking in freshness or refinement. Unfortunately, the taste was bland and overall not what I expected for the price.

Non-existent service and the staff could not have cared less about us as customers. No English menu and the food took a long time to arrive

We wanted to have a nice meal, but unfortunately, the kitchen decided to clear away all the salads before closing time, so we were practically unable to order any dish, since salad is included in almost everything. What a shame.

Too bad... I've been there several times and it was always delicious! My girlfriend and I had the same thing this time, garlic truffle pasta... I wanted to show her the lovely restaurant. The waitress told her it was good. Shortly afterward, we both felt sick. We could barely bear the train ride. Then, at the time, something happened: we both vomited several times. It couldn't have been something else that made us sick; we hadn't shared food or eaten the same thing before.

The food was so incredibly overpriced, considering it wasn't really tasty! The vegan wrap was just lettuce in a wrap. My coconut Thai soup was 90% water. Anyone who thought that was tasty has no taste buds. I'm a huge fan of good food, including Thai soup, and this was just ridiculous.

We were here with four people, ordered four dishes at the table using a QR code, and unfortunately, only received food for three people 😳 The staff didn't try to rectify the situation. After asking three times, we were told the order had arrived at the kitchen incorrectly. We didn't feel like the restaurant was customer-friendly, and there was no apology. One person left the restaurant hungry!

I went there with my family for brunch yesterday, and it was simply wonderful! 💖 Super delicious food, attentive service, and phenomenal egg salad!!! 😍 Plus, the Asian-inspired specialties made the whole thing exceptional. A completely "different" brunch! 5 stars!!! ⭐️

Incredibly delicious food in a modern restaurant. It was really nice.

I highly recommend the lunchbox; it's a different kind of cuisine. Today, Sunday, was our first time as a family visiting the lunchbox. We were actually the first members of the family to arrive, arriving promptly at 11:00 a.m. The restaurant manager greeted us warmly and showed us our seats. The staff put the finishing touches on everything, and everything was ready. A delicious selection of international cuisine! The steamed salmon, the vegetables, the wraps... were amazing. The delicious sauces, especially the peanut and lemon sauces, were an experience. It would have been too much to try everything. The fruit was also delicious and beautifully arranged. I didn't even get a chance to taste the cold cuts because of how full they were. My wife really enjoyed the filled rice paper and the spreads. Above all, the fact that everything is free of flavor enhancers and additives makes it so wholesome. A full tummy, yet still feeling light. To finish, there was a wonderful chocolate mousse, which I left standing, but my wife enjoyed two portions. Now at home, I regret not having tried it. I was happy that I was able to praise the chef during his inspection. He was also happy and thanked me. A big thank you to the hard-working Lunchbox team for this wonderful time. We'd love to come back!

Really delicious and, above all, healthy food in a relaxed atmosphere! We were there with a few friends and absolutely loved it. Everything was super fresh, full of flavor and something different - the healthy options were particularly impressive. I had the Thai coconut soup, fresh summer rolls (rice paper rolls) and the Bao Buns (Lunchy Bun Hof) – everything was great! The service was also friendly and attentive. Definitely come more often!

Super good, the food is super delicious The drink came a minute after ordering. The food was also very quick. Ordering via your cell phone is great, you can take the time you need and see the pictures straight away. You can also see how much you have to pay and you can choose whether you want to pay by cell phone, i.e. Paypal, Apple PayPal etc. or to the waiter.

Simply perfect… and uniquely delicious!!

I came to a restaurant I didn't know because I'm in Rostock for work. I was greeted upon entering and told to choose a table. The dining room is relatively large and only one table was occupied. So I did and chose a table for two. Then nothing happened at first. In the restaurant, some employees, including the boss, were bustling and talking loudly, but no one came to the table. I then noticed that there was a self-ordering tool, so I ordered a dish through it. What was promised was a coconut Thai curry, without binding agents, therefore gluten-free but also liquid, as already explained in the app. (If you reduce coconut milk dishes long enough, you don't need to bind them, they reduce and have a great taste and consistency). I ordered udon noodles for 3 euros and tofu also for something around 3-4 euros, which is of course a waste for this dish, otherwise draped with Chinese cabbage and carrots, for a whopping 24 euros. And the taste was very weak and the fried tofu was soggy after 2 minutes because it wasn't a curry bowl, but a soup. The waitress brought me the dish, wished me bon appetit and then nothing happened again until I had to call the waitress via the app to pay! It's really a shame that the self-ordering support is used to keep guests away from contact and that nobody there seems to be interested. The furnishings are nice, but the seemingly intentional, flickering light on the gallery is really stressful and doesn't fit with the rest of the furnishings and the time of day. At the table where I was sitting, an LED strip was broken and was also flickering, which completely irritated me. Hence a 1/5.

Super nice and small restaurant at the Kröpliner Tor. Great and quick service. The food was very good. We will definitely come here again. Absolutely recommended.

Unfriendly waitress! I mentioned that I have a tomato allergy and then I could leave the store straight away because she said there are tomatoes in every food!! You don't experience something so customer-unfriendly every day!! I would train your employees in communication and friendliness!!

The food is delicious, delivered quickly, and the service is friendly and prompt. Ordering via the QR code works very well. The toilets, however, are in great need of improvement! Dark and unclean, even the pictures of the hazy basketball club don't help. Kristin

A very nice restaurant where you can order your food directly using a QR code. The quality of the dishes is very good and justifies the higher price. There were too many spring onions in the soup for my taste. Anyone who wants to pay attention to good quality is in good hands here.

Unfriendly and not customer focused. We had reserved a table but there weren't enough of them. Shortly afterwards we were informed by the waiter that the table was only available to us for a limited time. In a very unfriendly manner we were asked by the “manager” to move to another table. If we had been asked kindly at the beginning if we would like to move to a smaller table, that would have been okay with us, but that was out of the question. The last visit to the store for me.

Nice food, bit annoying to order line

We booked the lunch box as a caterer for my mother-in-law's 80th birthday and what can I say... Uncomplicated, friendly and quick arrangements in advance by phone and email. Very friendly staff. And what matters most: All guests were very enthusiastic about the delicious catering that was delivered! Personally, I've also had a lunch box and been more than satisfied. We like the great selection of dishes. We were also pleased that the team was open to other food ideas for the 80th birthday. Thank you!

Very good restaurant with very nice staff and delicious food. It's worth it. We were there on Thursday. It was very crowded.

Absolutely underground! Ordered with the app, appetizer arrives. BUT as long as the service doesn't clear the starter, the main course won't be cooked. Conclusion: Starter was not cleared away and after 45 minutes still no main course was brought. The MAX, who is apparently responsible here, had nothing to say about it and didn't even want to apologize for it. Then the main course came but not for everyone. A meal was then completely forgotten. Debt relief from service? None. We have never experienced anything as bad as here.

Yesterday we ordered something to take away from Lunchbox. The shop itself looks very cozy. The staff is friendly. The menu is only available via a QR code, which you can then use to order. Unfortunately, the food itself wasn't good (especially since one cook worked without gloves and touched food). We had ordered extra tofu with our (very bland) meal, which was served in carelessly fried blocks. For the money it just wasn't worth it.

We waited 1 hour for the food, the food was taste less and the procecco was flat. The waiter was very sweet.

The place is pleasant, there is no attentive staff, you order via the app, which is a bit confusing, the food is very delicious, the snack you order was worth every penny, the staff who work in the kitchen are super friendly, the bathrooms in the place need urgent need for cleaning the pee odor was very strong there was no toilet paper, if there was a waitress to serve the place it would be a 5, price of the salad €14.50 plus if you add a few things it goes for almost €30, not even restaurants like el porto are that expensive, as I said the app was a little confusing, due to the service and location the price is a little expensive compared to 5 star restaurants in the city, for a restaurant of Snacks are a little expensive, I'll go back to try other dishes and make new reviews.

Cinnamon latte macchiato to take away, super tasty and quick.

I've been going to Lunchbox since the first lesson (it was still in the library back then), but today I was seriously disappointed. We wanted to have lunch there today and we asked for a table for two in the front area because my girlfriend has a sea disability and she wouldn't be able to see me in the back area. The lady at reception told us that there weren't four of us and that we could only sit in the back area or on the side, with the door open in winter??? That's great. Not to mention empathy or service, I tried to explain to her our reasons and why we would have liked to have taken the free table, but she wasn't interested in it, even when we left the shop disappointed.

The drinks are good, the staff is nice but the food is cheap, few and incredibly expensive. For the price of 4 kebabs you get bland food cooked with little skill. That's not a pleasure!

LunchBox took care of the catering for our wedding. Both the coordination of the menu as well as the delivery/assembly on site and the collection the next day went smoothly. The food itself was very tasty and varied. The price-performance ratio was absolutely reasonable. If you don't feel like the run-of-the-mill buffet, LunchBox is a great choice.

I got the advertised mint tea to take away: EUR 6.30!! For water, 3 mint leaves and inedible agave syrup. No wonder the price is not advertised. Completely outrageous! When I paid, I got a nasty grin when I complained about the price.

Ambiance was great, food was bland, seemed like fast food

The restaurant is very nice, florally furnished and decorated. You immediately feel comfortable. It's super easy to order via mobile phone on the Internet - everyone individually or all together. The food and drinks are brought quickly by the friendly service and taste delicious. The selection is great and clear. I particularly liked the fact that non-alcoholic drinks such as Aperol Spritz are offered. The vegan and vegetarian selection is also great 👌 there could be 2-3 more desserts according to my taste, e.g. warm chocolate cake or something vegan here.

Great ambience, great service and a great mix of vegan and meat dishes. The portions are filling. In most courts, competent people can be actively supplemented.

We've eaten there several times during our vacation and have always loved it. Thanks again to the nice employee for the great advice on the various dishes. The tomato soup with the focaccia bread is unbeatable, very tasty, highly recommended. You should also definitely try the watermelon smoothie, I ordered it sugar-free without passion fruit nectar (or mango nectar), very tasty and recommended. The vegan rice paper rolls without tofu took some getting used to because they taste so unfamiliar, but they were very tasty once we got used to them, there are hardly any other ones that are that good. It's a shame that we're leaving again tomorrow, we'll definitely come back on our next vacation. It would be nice if Lunchbox eatfresher were also available in Bremen.... I liked the food, but the service was really disappointing. I had to wait for almost 1 hour for a salad, because apparently they had lost my order in the kitchen. When complained twice, in addition to not receiving a proper apology, I was asked if "I don't want my food anymore"!

The food was good and it didn't take long, but the service is very impersonal, everything via the cell phone, even the waiter only comes if you have made your presence known via the app beforehand, I don't like that kind of service, I won't be coming back.

Looks very nice, especially from the inside. The food is good but the price isn't really justified. I really liked the large selection of vegan dishes, but I initially forgot the tofu in my meal and then used normal cheese instead of vegan. Not so great especially if someone can't tolerate milk. But conditions were friendly.

On August 23rd, 2024 we ordered drinks and food outside. Then we noticed bird droppings on the edge of the box with the cutlery and asked for it to be replaced. While we were eating, we were a bit surprised that the "new" cutlery box at the top was dusty in some places and "clean" in others. Only when we were finished did we realize that it was exactly the same cutlery box that was already on table 31 when we arrived. And the cutlery wasn't replaced either because there was still bird droppings on it. The hygiene standards in the lunch box are disgusting - never again!

So we went here a few times already and so far always had a great experience since we always ate the same (vegan asian pasta salad) which tasted amazing each time. Today we decided to try out other meals and were really disappointed. I had the peanut-ginger curry and for 16 Euros (without tofu topping) it was super disappointing since it didn't taste like anything really all the while they have an amazing peanut sauce dip with other dishes. My partner had the vegan saffron-vanilla butter pasta salad which literally tasted of nothing. We both cook and travel a lot and know the taste of saffron and a good, healthy peanut curry which was both unfortunately nowhere to be found. Neither was any sauce or the apparent white wine used to deglaze my partners dish which made the whole dish quite dry. For almost 18 Euro a pasta salad with 6 half cherry tomatoes, almost no veggie otherwise and just butter/oil which was used did not impress. We will definitely come again for the asian pasta salad and vegan starter rolls as they are amazing. Also the system to order via phone is great and staff is friendly. Also the homemade drinks are great 👍 👌

Food was good, but unfortunately the service system doesn't work at all. Eating together means one person gets their food, the other 20 minutes later... the reason why I'm not coming back

Actually a cool system with ordering via online card, but unfortunately the implementation doesn't work at all. The shop was completely empty. We ordered a beer and a raspberry spritzer. After 10 minutes I went in and asked if the order had worked. The employee's answer: “Yes, it worked, a beer, a raspberry spritzer. Let's bring it straight away.” Five minutes later the beer came, after another five minutes my partner came in and asked for my raspberry spritzer. The employee's answer: "We don't have any raspberry spritzer." When I asked why they didn't tell me, all I got was a shrug of the shoulders.

Highlight at lunchtime! The food was very tasty. There were three of us there and we had different dishes: curry, pasta, salad - all tastefully prepared in an open kitchen. The atmosphere is chic and cozy. The staff was very friendly. Unfortunately, the card can only be read via cell phone, which I don't find service-oriented. This doesn't provide clarity and makes the selection difficult for me. Two stars deducted not for the service of the staff but for a missing card.

I like coming here to eat with friends, the food is always quick and freshly prepared. There is a good selection of drinks and the ambience is also very nice.

There is one star for the delicious peanut sauce. Unfortunately, the rest of the food (rice paper rolls and bruschetta) was too salty. Unfortunately, the foccacia described on the menu had little to do with traditional foccacia; it was more like toast. There is a second star for the attractive interior design. Unfortunately, the music and the prevailing background noise were quite loud. We cannot judge the service because there was no classic service. You order food via your own smartphone using a web-based application.

Fresh and delicious! Had a white asparagus curry - really good. Also worth highlighting is the selection of non-alcoholic cocktails - including non-alcoholic wine/champagne.

A very nice location. Very modern. You order using your cell phone and can also enter whether you want to pay and call the waiter. The staff is very friendly. The food was very tasty and so was the homemade iced tea. Unfortunately, the menu didn't say that there were tomatoes in the wrap, which would be really important for people who are histamine intolerant. And there were no napkins either

Very nice atmosphere, nice staff! The food wasn't very good, my girlfriend and I both had a tuna wrap - this only consisted of lettuce, a dollop of sauce and very little tuna. The cappuccino was good, but why would you pay extra for oat milk? You can do it, but we won't be coming back.

Mega! I spontaneously picked up food there today. Super friendly service, large portion and really tasty curry plus smoothie. The whole thing takes less than 10 minutes from ordering. 5 deserved stars 🌟.

The system with online ordering and calling waiters is a very good decision and a great system The only thing I didn't like was that the lighting was really dim and it was already very dark. I could still see the surroundings, but it was really quite dark and the air was rather stuffy. The vegetarian selection was very large!
