We went there for dinner and everything was very good. It was a big plus that they offered a non-alcoholic cocktail. The food was excellent. The homemade lemonade was great too.

Simply fantastic! We got a table without a reservation. The food was more than delicious, venison and braised ox cheeks. 11 out of 10 for that. Very attentive service. A wonderful visit to the Ratskeller Quedlinburg. Highly recommended!

Quaint Ratskeller restaurant with friendly service.

We ate here twice during our short vacation and were served very courteously, friendly, and absolutely competently. The service staff deserves a huge compliment and a big thank you, all of them very attentive and quick to follow up. That had to be said first, because they know what they've been doing after work. And of course, a huge compliment also goes to the staff in the background; the food is top-notch, super delicious. This isn't just a feast for the eyes, it's also an absolute explosion of flavors for the palate. We can give it a huge recommendation, thank you for being here.

The food and service were very good! However, the music in the restaurant isn't exactly appropriate. Wolfgang Petri and Helene Fischer wouldn't fit in such a venue.

Inviting from the outside, but that's it. Inside, the charm of a sports club. Inappropriate interior design/decorations. The beer selection is disastrous: no local beer, but delicious lemonade. The food: pre-made schnitzel served without sauce, a large portion. Service was okay.

Really nice is actually something else entirely. 😉 The reservation worked out wonderfully, but meals for several people have to be pre-ordered. The space is perfectly fine, with a suitable ambiance and clean. The young waitresses were friendly, the wine was well chilled, and the hazelnut schnapps was tastier than a Nutella roll. I had the chicken breast with pineapple and cheese on fried potatoes with pan-fried vegetables. The food wasn't hot. The fried potato cubes were burnt and then way too soft. They shouldn't have been served at all. 🙈 The pan-fried vegetables (grated carrot and three green beans) were veeeeery crunchy. 🙈 The chicken breast was dry, and the pineapple and cheese were simply hard and dry. Well, a few tables were occupied, and the kitchen was definitely overwhelmed. We were there with a larger group, and we ended up standing in a long line at the cash register to pay. Bottom line: The most important thing about a restaurant is the food and the service. 🤷🏻‍♀️

The food was good, but not outstanding.

The food wasn't particularly great. Greasy fried potatoes and a tiny piece of chicken. You had to hunt for it. The side salad was absolutely overpriced at €6.80. Our waiter took a veeeery long time with everything. We didn't ask how the food tasted.

It's okay, the staff were a bit strange at first, but later they became excellent and very friendly. Perhaps that was because we sat down at a recently vacated table that still needed to be cleared, but there were no free tables, so we just relaxed.

The service was friendly. The bread salad as a starter was great! But for the main course, we had schnitzel with mushrooms and fried potatoes. Our food wasn't even lukewarm! The mushrooms were practically cold. And the meat was dry! We immediately informed the server that the food wasn't warm enough and that the meat was dry. We asked for ketchup to help us swallow the dry schnitzel. It seemed to us that the server had gotten the ketchup from a neighboring restaurant. I really appreciate her efforts. However, by the time the ketchup arrived, our food was completely cold. We didn't finish our food. It was a real disappointment! Such a shame.

Top 👍 restaurant where the price-performance ratio is still right. Fast service and, above all, friendly. We'll be back. Thank you and keep up the good work.

Be careful when ordering beer: 0.3l draft: €3.60 and 0.4l for €5.20 (€0.40 more expensive). I ordered "one" beer and got the more expensive 0.4l, without being asked. My girlfriend ordered a wine spritzer and got wine with tap water (and limescale or something similar in the glass). Neither was OK. Otherwise, the service was friendly and quick.

The food was mediocre and the service unfriendly. They gave too little change and argued that it wasn't right. The manager was extremely condescending!

Unfortunately, the 75-minute wait was only rewarded with a tasteless schnitzel.

I'd love to give the service zero stars. The food was really delicious. The service, however, was a complete disaster. When our drinks were brought, the young waitress dropped the tray and drenched me in beer. The snacks we had brought for our baby were also drenched in beer. That can happen, but the fact that there wasn't even an apology and the other waitress simply remarked, "In Mallorca, people would pay money for a beer shower," is a real cheek. In the end, we didn't even get a drink on the house. The abysmal service unfortunately makes it not worth a second visit.

The food was exceptionally delicious! :) The only drawback I find in almost every restaurant is the children's menu, which always includes fries and pasta. Perhaps they could offer the regular dishes as children's dishes and provide a note on the menu. :) Service was good and attentive.

Review: Cabbage Roll at the Ratskeller – Unfortunately, Not a Delight A visit to the Ratskeller sounded promising – a hearty portion of German home cooking, I thought. So, I opted for the cabbage roll, expecting a rustic, handmade classic. What arrived was... let's just say: more convenience than heartfelt cooking. Unfortunately, the cabbage roll seemed anything but homemade – more like something straight from a commercial kitchen into the microwave. The taste was still acceptable, but it wasn't an experience you'll remember. No drama on the plate, but no excitement either. What sticks in your mind, however, is the price, which promises significantly more than the dish ultimately delivers. It was simply too expensive for what you get – even the charming ambiance of the Ratskeller doesn't help much. Conclusion: Perhaps okay for nostalgia fans with low expectations and a fat wallet – but rather a disappointment for everyone else. Just a 4 out of 10 because it satisfied my hunger and was at least edible.

Rating: ★★★☆☆ The Ratskeller Quedlinburg impresses with its beautiful historic ambiance and lovingly designed interiors – you immediately feel at home here. The service was also extremely friendly and attentive, which made the stay pleasant. Unfortunately, the food didn't live up to the positive impression. The country schnitzel, advertised as "fresh," turned out to be a dry, frozen product, which was particularly disappointing. The fried potatoes – also obviously not freshly prepared – came in small cubes and were partially burnt. Overall, a mixed visit: the atmosphere and service were excellent, but the food, unfortunately, clearly needs improvement.

We went here for dinner again. The food was absolutely delicious; we had ox cheek, goulash in a loaf of bread, and schnitzel. The service was excellent and we were warmly welcomed. A very young, wonderful, friendly team; keep up the good work.

The ambiance was great and very cozy. The service was good. But the food was a total disaster. It was all packaged, nothing fresh, and the meat was dry. The pictures speak for themselves. One star is already too many.

Unfortunately, our visit to this restaurant was disappointing. From the moment we were greeted, we were struck by the very cold and distant service. Interaction with the staff was minimal – recommendations or the friendly conversation one would expect when visiting a restaurant were nonexistent. Training for the service staff would be beneficial, especially with regard to customer service and advice. Unfortunately, the food couldn't make up for this impression. We had the schnitzel, which was neither particularly large nor juicy. It seemed to have been prepared with little care and tasted strongly reminiscent of convenience foods. Overall, our visit was disappointing; we won't be returning. No card payments accepted.

Service desert Germany is getting a new representative here. I really can't find words to describe the customer service. Perhaps the staff and manager should be retrained; it would certainly be reflected in the sales and reviews. There are definitely better restaurants in Quedlinburg...

The Ratskeller Quedlinburg is my worst restaurant experience ever. From the manager (the fish starts to stink from the head), complete hatred of people and customers, to the rest of the staff, dismissive and inadequate. The manager: "I'm served according to my instructions (the customer is king????)" The manager's statement: "I'm glad you're leaving, then I have the two tables for other customers. Five people are out because tables aren't placed together." Very unfriendly to children. Waited over an hour for asparagus and potatoes. At the neighboring table, seven people with children jumped up in outrage and left the outdoor seating, after being told by the staff that they were in the way! This establishment should be avoided and boycoded in all respects.

The reception was poor; we were immediately criticized for why we had placed the tables together (there were seven of us, and only four tables available). Then we were informed that payment was only possible by cash. The tone and manner of the service was so awful that it ruined our stay.

Super friendly service, very fast delivery, attentive service, and great food. The portions were very generous and delicious. The schnitzel is highly recommended. They even accommodate special requests.

We ate at the Rathskeller over the weekend. We were lucky to get a small table without a reservation. The food was excellent, and the service incredibly friendly. Excellent value for money. Unfortunately, we live too far away, otherwise we would definitely come more often. Highly recommended.

Good German cuisine, normal prices, lots of fun

It's best not to go without a reservation. The likelihood of anything being free is slim. But the staff is really, really nice, the food is great and the location is stylish and pretty. I think it's good that there is a reception room where guests have to ring the bell beforehand. Then an employee comes and instructs the guests. This means there is no unrest in the guest room itself. Gladly again!

5 stars plus Great service, a great ambience and, above all, the dishes are simply delicious! Chapeau to the entire team!!! As always, it was a pleasure

Asparagus overcooked and watery. Hollandaise sauce was very bad. Potato wedges warmed up, side salad like the day before. Goulash still just 3 out of 5. Likewise the roast venison. Starter soup (garlic cream with wild sausage) was good. Overall, far too little. Too bad.

There were eight of us there, and the price was reasonable for today's prices. You walk into a beautiful, large cellar with plenty of tables. You're greeted politely and shown to your seat, which is very rare in other restaurants. The food was okay, the fried potatoes were missing that certain something, but they also serve ketchup with the schnitzel or other dishes upon request. The mushrooms and schnitzel were delicious. They offer ice cream for the kids. Overall, it's a lovely restaurant in a lovely city. Maybe I'll shoo-in there again.

Good German home cooking and generous portions. The service is very attentive and friendly. You have to ring the bell at the restaurant door to be shown to your table. This brings calm into the guest room. We would come back at any time.

Rating: Unfortunately we had to leave the restaurant before we could even eat - because card payment was not possible. In today's world, when cashless payments have long been standard, this seems more than backwards. A modern restaurant should adapt to the needs of its guests and offer contemporary payment options. It's a shame, because the ambience was promising, but if you don't update yourself, you'll lose potential customers.

Unfriendly staff who used insulting fecal language towards their guests, waited 1 hour and 20 minutes for the food, only cash payment possible, roulade was overcooked, fried potatoes were greasy and lukewarm, and much more.

The restaurant is a welcome focal point in the otherwise rather modest offering in Quedlinburg. Attentive and friendly service, sumptuous food, German cuisine taken seriously. I'm surprised at the rejection of the card payment, which I experienced in August, and the placement mode (bell).

Unfortunately, a complete disaster. The pork goulash was lukewarm and dry, the dumplings undercooked, and the red cabbage tasteless. Grandma Ilse's cabbage roll was tasteless—just a layer of overcooked cabbage around unseasoned minced meat, and the port wine sauce was probably from a packet. My wife could only eat half. I pointed out the problem to the waitress (a trainee), but she didn't pass it on. When paying (cash only), I mentioned the same thing again. She was brought a small box of chocolates. We declined, gratefully. This mishap should have been handled proactively and professionally. Conclusion from today's visit: NOT recommended.

The drinks were very tasty. However, the waitresses were unfriendly and the food was of poor quality. Parts of the dish that we had ordered without due to an allergy (we communicated this) were still brought to our table on our plates. A very disappointing evening that wasn't worth the money.

Three different waiters who didn't coordinate with each other. For starters, an onion soup with hard-fried, impossibly chewy spaghetti, and for the main course, fried potatoes from a wholesaler's bag, combined with frozen vegetables and a handful of fresh beans. All in a venerable town hall cellar with white faux-leather benches, a dog bowl under the table, and lots of decorative junk with Johnny Cash playing in the background? Actually, my first review because I was genuinely shocked.

We liked it a lot. We had the baked rösti and the pork goulash in a loaf of bread. The latter is actually a bit too expensive for the dish. Card payments are currently unavailable. The service was very friendly.

Unfortunately, it was an unpleasant moment to stand in front of the “bouncer” and get an uncharming rejection. We went down the inviting stairs to the basement and asked for a table for 2. When asked "were you hungry?" Unfortunately we had to answer no because we just wanted something to drink. The no was given straight back. But in an unfriendly way that will never let us enter this place again. Too bad. It would have been different!

The two of us were in the Ratskeller during Advent, we were looking forward to a delicious German meal and in the end we were very disappointed with the quality. The Ratskellers in other cities have much more to offer. As compensation, we girls were given a schnapps without consulting... Conclusion: expensive doesn't mean tasty, it's better to take a closer look.

As a trained chef you shouldn't judge your colleagues. But in my opinion the food on offer is a disgrace for the price. Champions dark probably lay in the bay all day. Fried potatoes looked like chopped fries, no onions, no bacon, no love. The schnitzel is dry and dead. And then there are sprouts everywhere on it, it's supposed to look nice but it's unappetizing, especially if you have leek sprouts on the schnitzel. Bought dressing for salad very sadly. My colleague had the cabbage roll, a ready-made product. Apparently the bottle of caramel fell into the black sauce. Unnatural. Conclusion Hands off and the chef please go to cooking school. The service staff was friendly and quick. Best regards

Unfortunately the visit didn't happen. We wanted to reserve a table for 6 people by phone for a city trip. Unfortunately, the person on the other end of the phone was completely overwhelmed by this request. First he had to ask several times. We were then asked whether our group consisted of slim people or strong people. After we asked what this question was about, we simply hung up. Apparently only certain groups of people are allowed to visit this restaurant. The phone call took place on November 14, 2024 at 7 p.m We made reservations at another restaurant.

The Ratskeller is convincing across the board. Waiting guests will be welcomed at the door. This brings a lot of peace to the restaurant. The staff is friendly and attentive. After a short wait, we were able to sit down at the table and enjoy an enchanting meal.

It's hard to get a table there, but now that we got one on the last day of our vacation, we know why. The food is great. It's been a long time since we've eaten such delicious German cuisine. Everything was very delicately seasoned and the meat was on point. We had spiced meat and onion soup. Then goulash and roast venison. Very very tasty. The gentleman at reception was very relaxed and friendly. The lady and the young gentleman as servers were very friendly and attentive. We all received our orders without a long wait. Unfortunately the location and the entrance area are very outdated. This could also be made a little nicer without renovation. Everything else is just TOP

Good day We went to the Ratskeller for dinner and luckily we had made a reservation. Unfortunately, the drink order went wrong right at the beginning and exactly the same thing at the next table. The starter was completely forgotten. The waiter apologized for this and we had dessert on the house, which was also very tasty. The main course tasted good but the chicken was very small and gratinated. Unfortunately, the pork schnitzel gratinated with tomatoes and herder's cheese wasn't quite what we expected - the tomatoes were just cut into small pieces and you had to literally look for the herder's cheese on top. At a price of €21.90 it would be very nice if the food corresponded to the menu. In any case, the waiter apologized several times and mistakes obviously happen, but we wouldn't come back again for the price and the service Too bad

Even though we came without a reservation and the restaurant was pretty fully booked, we got a nice seat in a booth. The staff were consistently friendly and were able to provide technically competent statements when asked. The greeting from the kitchen (white sausage in honey mustard sauce) wasn't my thing, but it didn't taste bad and was a very nice gesture that you hardly get anywhere anymore. From the food we chose the Quedlinburg onion soup and then the Victoria bass and the goulash v. local pig was chosen. The portions were large, hot and tasty. The food wasn't overly seasoned so you could really enjoy the taste of the products. The waiting time was absolutely reasonable. What we particularly liked was that there was a short break between courses so that we could eat our soup in peace before the main course arrived. Conclusion: We found a nice end to our day trip to Quedlinburg. A nice, small restaurant with good staff, tasty food, clean toilets and a good price-performance ratio. Even if only cash payment was possible, it didn't matter, as it was already right at the entrance door and also where the nearest ATM could be found (almost 26m from the restaurant😉)

Completely overrated. The store is so uncomfortable because of the bright station lighting. I actually wanted to leave immediately, but due to a lack of alternatives (without a reservation) we stayed. My mini cabbage roulade probably came from a can. The rest of the food wasn't really good either. Overpriced especially for the quality. Card payment also not possible. We can't recommend it.

We can only recommend the Ratskeller. Great food, atmosphere and the service is super friendly, especially Nicole. We were there with friends and would love to come back. A must for every Quedlinburg visitor.

An all-round successful dinner 😊 Price performance is simply great and the quality is simply great 😊 delicious seasoned meat for the starter and schnitzel, pike, spaghetti and ox cheek for the main course and everything was excellent and we would go there again at any time 😊

A journey into the past. And not just because of the historical ambience. Card payment? None! Just like before... The cabbage roll also reminded me of my bachelor days, when I used the canned version. The consistency and taste were almost identical. Luckily I didn't have to pay for my meal because of course I complained and the waiter "wasn't in the mood for discussions right before closing time." We definitely won't be back but it was an interesting experience.

Unfortunately we were more than disappointed. We simply expect more for the price. We chose the schnitzel with fried potatoes and mushrooms and the truffle spaghetti. Schnitzel is bone dry, from the freezer and has no taste. The potatoes and mushrooms were also not seasoned or fresh. The truffle spaghetti was swimming in oil and was also a disappointment in terms of taste. We would have expected more quality given the old-fashioned atmosphere!

We were in Quedlinburg for the first time with friends. We had dinner in the Ratskeller on the first evening for my birthday and it was very nice, so we went there again the next evening. The service was very friendly and accommodating...especially Nicole... On the last evening there were several schnapps on the house..I can only recommend it and would be happy to come back..Stay healthy and above all, you are always friendly and funny..
