Got a free table without a reservation and had a good meal. We sat in the Heinrichsaal in the vault.

We were here during Advent. The staff was super organized and the food was great. Highly recommended.

Unfortunately, it was an unpleasant moment to stand in front of the “bouncer” and get an uncharming rejection. We went down the inviting stairs to the basement and asked for a table for 2. When asked "were you hungry?" Unfortunately we had to answer no because we just wanted something to drink. The no was given straight back. But in an unfriendly way that will never let us enter this place again. Too bad. It would have been different!

The two of us were in the Ratskeller during Advent, we were looking forward to a delicious German meal and in the end we were very disappointed with the quality. The Ratskellers in other cities have much more to offer. As compensation, we girls were given a schnapps without consulting... Conclusion: expensive doesn't mean tasty, it's better to take a closer look.

As a trained chef you shouldn't judge your colleagues. But in my opinion the food on offer is a disgrace for the price. Champions dark probably lay in the bay all day. Fried potatoes looked like chopped fries, no onions, no bacon, no love. The schnitzel is dry and dead. And then there are sprouts everywhere on it, it's supposed to look nice but it's unappetizing, especially if you have leek sprouts on the schnitzel. Bought dressing for salad very sadly. My colleague had the cabbage roll, a ready-made product. Apparently the bottle of caramel fell into the black sauce. Unnatural. Conclusion Hands off and the chef please go to cooking school. The service staff was friendly and quick. Best regards

Unfortunately the visit didn't happen. We wanted to reserve a table for 6 people by phone for a city trip. Unfortunately, the person on the other end of the phone was completely overwhelmed by this request. First he had to ask several times. We were then asked whether our group consisted of slim people or strong people. After we asked what this question was about, we simply hung up. Apparently only certain groups of people are allowed to visit this restaurant. The phone call took place on November 14, 2024 at 7 p.m We made reservations at another restaurant.

The Ratskeller is convincing across the board. Waiting guests will be welcomed at the door. This brings a lot of peace to the restaurant. The staff is friendly and attentive. After a short wait, we were able to sit down at the table and enjoy an enchanting meal.

It's hard to get a table there, but now that we got one on the last day of our vacation, we know why. The food is great. It's been a long time since we've eaten such delicious German cuisine. Everything was very delicately seasoned and the meat was on point. We had spiced meat and onion soup. Then goulash and roast venison. Very very tasty. The gentleman at reception was very relaxed and friendly. The lady and the young gentleman as servers were very friendly and attentive. We all received our orders without a long wait. Unfortunately the location and the entrance area are very outdated. This could also be made a little nicer without renovation. Everything else is just TOP

Definitely recommended. It was also possible to come with 7 people at short notice. Food price/performance top, service top. Gladly again.

Good day We went to the Ratskeller for dinner and luckily we had made a reservation. Unfortunately, the drink order went wrong right at the beginning and exactly the same thing at the next table. The starter was completely forgotten. The waiter apologized for this and we had dessert on the house, which was also very tasty. The main course tasted good but the chicken was very small and gratinated. Unfortunately, the pork schnitzel gratinated with tomatoes and herder's cheese wasn't quite what we expected - the tomatoes were just cut into small pieces and you had to literally look for the herder's cheese on top. At a price of €21.90 it would be very nice if the food corresponded to the menu. In any case, the waiter apologized several times and mistakes obviously happen, but we wouldn't come back again for the price and the service Too bad

Even though we came without a reservation and the restaurant was pretty fully booked, we got a nice seat in a booth. The staff were consistently friendly and were able to provide technically competent statements when asked. The greeting from the kitchen (white sausage in honey mustard sauce) wasn't my thing, but it didn't taste bad and was a very nice gesture that you hardly get anywhere anymore. From the food we chose the Quedlinburg onion soup and then the Victoria bass and the goulash v. local pig was chosen. The portions were large, hot and tasty. The food wasn't overly seasoned so you could really enjoy the taste of the products. The waiting time was absolutely reasonable. What we particularly liked was that there was a short break between courses so that we could eat our soup in peace before the main course arrived. Conclusion: We found a nice end to our day trip to Quedlinburg. A nice, small restaurant with good staff, tasty food, clean toilets and a good price-performance ratio. Even if only cash payment was possible, it didn't matter, as it was already right at the entrance door and also where the nearest ATM could be found (almost 26m from the restaurant😉)

Completely overrated. The store is so uncomfortable because of the bright station lighting. I actually wanted to leave immediately, but due to a lack of alternatives (without a reservation) we stayed. My mini cabbage roulade probably came from a can. The rest of the food wasn't really good either. Overpriced especially for the quality. Card payment also not possible. We can't recommend it.

We can only recommend the Ratskeller. Great food, atmosphere and the service is super friendly, especially Nicole. We were there with friends and would love to come back. A must for every Quedlinburg visitor.

An all-round successful dinner 😊 Price performance is simply great and the quality is simply great 😊 delicious seasoned meat for the starter and schnitzel, pike, spaghetti and ox cheek for the main course and everything was excellent and we would go there again at any time 😊

A journey into the past. And not just because of the historical ambience. Card payment? None! Just like before... The cabbage roll also reminded me of my bachelor days, when I used the canned version. The consistency and taste were almost identical. Luckily I didn't have to pay for my meal because of course I complained and the waiter "wasn't in the mood for discussions right before closing time." We definitely won't be back but it was an interesting experience.

For the money, not enough food quality. Salad and potatoes with the meat tasted like they had been warmed up. Schnitzel looked like it came from the frozen section and onion soup tasted like ketchup.

Unfortunately we were more than disappointed. We simply expect more for the price. We chose the schnitzel with fried potatoes and mushrooms and the truffle spaghetti. Schnitzel is bone dry, from the freezer and has no taste. The potatoes and mushrooms were also not seasoned or fresh. The truffle spaghetti was swimming in oil and was also a disappointment in terms of taste. We would have expected more quality given the old-fashioned atmosphere!

Cozy German restaurant with extremely friendly and courteous staff. The vegetarian options are unfortunately disappointing and a whole evening with Tina Turner in your ears is a bit too much for my taste. Too bad.

We were in Quedlinburg for the first time with friends. We had dinner in the Ratskeller on the first evening for my birthday and it was very nice, so we went there again the next evening. The service was very friendly and accommodating...especially Nicole... On the last evening there were several schnapps on the house..I can only recommend it and would be happy to come back..Stay healthy and above all, you are always friendly and funny.. We were in Quedlinburg over the weekend and ate at ratskeller twice. The staff was very, very friendly and sweet. The food was super delicious, like at grandma's home. Everyone stay as you are and above all stay healthy. We'll definitely see each other again. 🥰

We look forward to going out to eat and have a nice evening, what an experience we saw: unfriendly indifferent staff, we ordered wiener schnitzel with braised potatoes and roasted mushrooms and 2 glasses of red wine. Wiener schnitzel was fried several days ago, potatoes and mushrooms were not fried today either. So we got old heated food that didn't have juice and taste. The red wine was good, but they hadn't made that either. Never have I had such bad food, if you can call it food. How can a restaurant come up with serving old cooked food, one is that potatoes are overcooked, Wienerschnitzel, potatoes and mushrooms can then be quickly cooked fresh in a pan, so that there is heat, flavor and juice. Thanks for a BAD experience, my throat still tastes of old cooked food.

Short and to the point: Food-fried potato salad, very cheeky for the price, consisting of 80% romaine lettuce but fresh ingredients, schnitzel was dry and mushrooms from a can and not very tasty, apple spritzer almost no carbonation Service was nice and tried hard Ambiance - whatever it is, nothing fits together from different wooden looks, plastic flowers, fresh flowers, LED lanterns, fake fireplaces and country music. A Ratskeller really means something different, it's a shame but I wouldn't recommend it.

We actually wanted to eat here today or tomorrow - but it's closed today. That wouldn't be bad, we'll be there all weekend - but what's extremely bad is the entertainer with a stage who plays songs for the closed society. As is well known, one can argue about taste in music, but not about the volume of the music. We have an apartment directly opposite the Ratskeller - and no closing windows, no closing doors and no earplugs prevent you from singing along. Thank you for no consideration for the residents, dear Ratskeller. Just one star for that - and if I could have given zero, it would have been zero. Addendum: Statement from the boss regarding the volume when I went downstairs: "Then your apartment is the problem." Yes, well. Even zero stars would have been too many.

Had reserved. They seated us and then forgot to take our order. We gave up on them 20 minutes later when we drew attention to ourselves. An hour later the food still wasn't there. We ordered bread as a starter, so it was neither complicated nor difficult to remember. When we asked, we were told that we had been forgotten. There was no food, neither here nor in other restaurants, because it was already after 9 p.m. I've never experienced anything like this before and it was on the last day of vacation. Very nice staff, waiting times were really short even though almost all tables were occupied. Food was really tasty and lots of it. Prices are okay for what you get. So when we are in the Harz again we will definitely eat here again. I even had my tummy rubbed after eating, which I really appreciated after eating so much. Thanks again to the Ratskeller team. We were here on our wedding day. The table was lovingly decorated, the food was delicious. I have never eaten such good seasoned meat. The main course and dessert were also very good. The service was very accommodating. You feel comfortable all around. Thank you and see you soon. Anne and Benni

We had reserved and got a place on the terrace. The furniture was made of plastic and the table tipped badly. We were served promptly and there was nothing wrong with the service. Only the clothes of the trainee or temporary waiter were not very suitable. We had found an old menu online and had already chosen a schnitzel with cream mushrooms. Unfortunately, this dish was no longer available. We then decided on the schnitzel with fried mushrooms and fried potatoes at 19.20 euros per portion. Unfortunately, we ordered 2 portions of gravy (there was no cream sauce). This product was also industrially produced and was charged an extra 1.50 per serving. We were not satisfied with it. The fried potatoes didn't deserve this name. Neither onion nor bacon was used. In addition, they were cubes that were hardly fried but rather tossed in reddish fat. The mushrooms had a rubbery consistency and a sour taste that suggested they had been preserved. A salad would have been desirable at this price. I think the schnitzel was a finished product. Overall, not a culinary experience. Therefore I would advise against a visit. Unfortunately, this is happening more and more often. I'm going to cook more myself to avoid this disillusionment.

Short-term reservation was positive. Unfortunately, our table was right next to the manhole cover. Unfortunately, the baked schnitzel we ordered was not baked. I asked several times why it wasn't gratinated and unfortunately received no answer. Conclusion: Not Ratskeller again.

The service staff seemed quite young and inexperienced (probably students). There was also a lot of confusion when ordering. Starters were brought at the same time as the main course. The food itself was very good. Here you get more for your money than usual. E.g. The seasoned meat is served in home-baked bread. The ambience is pleasant. It looks very modern for a Rats Keller. A mix of modern and old times. As compensation, there was a house dessert afterwards. All in all a good experience.

Kids spaghetti tasted like fish and ketchup. Soup was tasteless.

Stopover on the way home from Wacken. After a walk through the old town, the search for a restaurant for dinner led us here. For many years, I have associated the name "Ratskeller" with solid home cooking, regardless of the city. We sat down in the outdoor seating area in the best summer weather and a young employee (trainee?) handed us the card and said that EC card payment was not possible. Basically a legitimate decision for every business owner. When I read the "information page" in the menu, which fantasized about a general strike (what does the economic relationship between a restaurateur and a financial service provider have to do with VAT and who is actually on strike here?), I should have gotten up and left. But the boss (?) was already standing next to us and wanted to take the drink order, even though we had barely opened the menu. Her second attempt also lacked any sensitivity for the guest. From then on she avoided any contact with us and left the field to the three trainees (?), who were still acting quite clumsily (which is understandable if they are at the beginning of their training). Unfortunately, she left the three of them completely to their fate: no corrections, no helpful hints, no role model function. The wine was definitely worth its price, the food was rather below average. After all, when we cleared away the food we dutifully asked whether it was tasty. In the end, there are 2 lessons learned from the visit: 1. I really feel sorry for the trainees in the store 2. In every kebab shop people are looked after in a more hospitable and attentive manner than here.

We sat outside and wanted to enjoy the stop on the way home in beautiful Quedlinburg. Ratskeller has a good sound and the card met our expectations. Unfortunately, I can't help but feel that the team was a bit haphazard. A young employee brought us the menu quite quickly, but what felt like thirty seconds later the boss (?) was standing next to us and wanted to take the drinks. Shows little feeling for the guests. I didn't see any greeting from the kitchen. Maybe he can't make it up the stairs outside? The food was average at best. I had the roast venison with apple red cabbage and dumpling. The meat was close to falling apart on its own, but unfortunately also a bit on the dry side. When making the dumplings, my grandmother would have complained about the cook's very small hands. The sauce tasted very uniform and not adapted to a game dish. The best was the red cabbage. The wine I chose was the Dornfelder von der Unstrut and found it very pleasant. I think the growing area has been wrongly ignored by me so far. The three stars for the ambience only refer to the outdoor area. But I ignore the surroundings. The restaurant area is average. Overall, I'd say they've either had a bad day or have dropped off a lot when comparing to other reviews over the last few weeks. Taking out the displeasure about VAT on the guests is downright an impudence.

Excellent experience!.. despite not having booked, going at opening time (5 pm), we were given a table with availability for an hour and a half, enough time to eat. The dishes are very generous and well presented. The prices are high but the location is so beautiful that it deserves it. Very kind staff. Typical German cuisine and excellent.

Unfortunately I can't understand the great reviews. The service wasn't particularly good, the waitress barely said a word and we had to ask for the bill three times. The food is okay, but the price is definitely not appropriate. Card payments are being boycotted here to protest against the VAT increase in the catering industry. Yes, that's clear.

Bad experience I rarely complain about restaurants, but this place had a bad night, with minimun/non excistent service, when we were there. The food was ok, but we had to wait more than an hour for it to be served - and only after we asked for it ourselves. No apologies or anything and when we wanted to pay, they sent os 100 mtrs across the square to an ATM. Apperently they do not accepts cards, even though it's a busy place full of tourist... Next time I'll try another place instead.

Good home-style German cuisine. As expected, good service and very generous portions. The location is 1a and right in the middle of the beautiful old town. Very historical. We were completely satisfied.

Great! Despite the initially difficult approach and the rain, we were greeted very nicely at the entrance. Even though the place was full, it wasn't loud. The atmosphere was very nice and clean and the food was delicious. But the best thing was our service staff. Remembered to bring the child's food first, there was a great children's menu and ice cream and a children's bar for dessert. Great service... Again on the next vacation.

Everything fits here! We were there in the spring with a larger group (20 people) and of course we reserved early. The atmosphere in the Ratskeller is very nice! The service was great throughout the evening, the staff had everything under control. The selection of drinks, spirits and food is good. The food was very, very tasty from start to finish! If I had been in Quedlinburg for a day longer, I think I would have eaten there again. Definitely a recommendation! Gladly again!

I stopped there on May 11th, 2024 during our tour of the old town for a short break, which ended up taking a little longer than planned. This was mainly due to the delicious drinks and beautifully presented snacks. The service was also very attentive and friendly; as a guest you always felt valued. I would therefore be happy to recommend the restaurant.

June 22, 2024 Visited again and everything is the same and better! All the food we ordered was super tasty. Everything was freshly prepared and special requests (if possible) were implemented. Service was always in demand, even with the increased number of guests, and requests were implemented as quickly as possible. Great restaurant, great chef(s) and great service staff. On public holidays or vacations, we recommend making a reservation by phone or, if you're lucky, stopping by and waiting until other guests say goodbye. Absolutely recommended!

Only cash payment due to “General strike” (which apparently no other restaurant in Quedlinburg is taking part in)??? At a tourist location? Because tourists carry cash around with them? I'm not going to walk to the bank and back if I pass half a dozen restaurants that accept my cards. If there is one thing in Quedlinburg, it is restaurants... Got up and goodbye.

There was still a lot going on around 1:00 p.m., so we were able to admire the old door in the entrance area for a few minutes - certainly from when it was first opened around 110 years ago. There is pleasantly spacious seating in the guest rooms. Food selection very rich and typical of the region. A lot of operating staff - that has become very rare these days. (Visually it's probably a family business - hopefully the young adults carry on). Unfortunately, the kitchen couldn't keep up and we had to wait a good hour until we finally got our lunch at around 2:15 p.m. But then everything was perfect again - everything came to the table hot at the same time. My son and I had very tender roast venison - one portion each, where here in B-W you would have made two out of it. 5! thick slices! Despite our huge hunger due to the waiting time, it was almost impossible. Yummy!!!! Maybe it won't take so long next time.

We were down in the Ratskeller, so not outside, where the ambience does its thing. Everything there is a bit worn and should be overhauled. The menu already exudes the charm of the 1990s. Until now I thought a general strike meant that work was stopped. But since the visit I have known that during a general strike you don't offer card payment to protest against VAT. The tax authorities are happy (not ;-). I have never come across such an inadequate argument to justify poor service. You can also openly say that you don't feel like paying taxes. The food was okay, it only took a while, the staff was friendly. Unfortunately, more and more innkeepers have the urge to impose their political views on customers.

Very good. Fried potatoes and beef cheeks were on point. Not everyone can!

I ordered the country schnitzel with asparagus and herb potatoes with hollandaise sauce. For me, the plate wasn't presented in an attractive way and in my opinion it didn't fit with the ambience. The plate was so small that you didn't know how to cut the asparagus or the schnitzel because the herb potatoes were underneath the schnitzel. The asparagus was too cooked for me personally (I like it when it still has a bit of a bite). Of the two schnitzels that were on the plate, one of them was fried to death and you couldn't eat it. Which is what I have to give back. Whenever I pointed out that the schnitzel was not edible, I was only given a stupid answer that it wasn't his problem and that he would pass it on to the kitchen so that it wouldn't happen next time. No apologies or in any way shape or form.

We were there for dinner and were initially warmly welcomed. We entered a typical Ratskeller with a lot of standing room and basically quite cozy. A very small and clear menu promises high quality at moderate prices. Our drinks arrived and we were quite impressed by the homemade lemonade. Unfortunately, the greeting came from the kitchen and from that moment we knew that we had chosen the wrong restaurant. A rice salad in which you could taste powdered bread. Although the greeting from the kitchen is intended to get the guest in the mood for the quality of the cuisine, we unfortunately only got a pitiful attempt at innovation. Unfortunately, this also affected you throughout the main course. The ingredients themselves are of excellent quality. The game meat was tender and the hunter knew his job; no bitter notes of stress were found in the meat. Unfortunately, the sauces were really horrible and left a harsh aftertaste of some kind of sauce powder and clearly too much salt on the tongue, which completely counteracted the really good meat. The apple red cabbage tasted way too sweet and the fine acidity that the apple normally brings was completely masked. I like it when an herb is a little sweet, but unfortunately this was too much of a good thing. Unfortunately, the question of what the half-intentional decoration of sprouts has to do with a game dish can also be debated. Conclusion, unfortunately the chef is not worthy of the ingredients. It will remain a one-time visit. A pity

The food was really delicious and beautifully arranged. The onion soup was awesome 😍.Very friendly staff. The only point of criticism would perhaps be the limited selection of vegetarian dishes.

Light and shadow - while my spiced meat starter was quite tasty, my wife's onion soup was a broth with a bit of onion added. My wife's roast venison was good again, but my pork schnitzel was a terrible mess and the side dishes were dry and salty. Unfortunately, even the great Belgian Abbey beer or the apricot schnapps served to compensate for the lousy main course can't change the overall rating. The fact that no card payment is possible because of the oh so nasty VAT increase to the usual 19% unfortunately only completes the picture.

At the end of a great day in this beautiful city, we stopped at the Ratskeller: Typically German food with good quality and a clear menu. There was a little “greeting from the kitchen” beforehand. The service was great and friendly. The restaurant is spacious in terms of space. A dog was obviously welcome and "hosted". The senior portion for one meal (of six) was explicitly taken into account when ordering; Unfortunately not on the bill (pineapple/chicken). Unfortunately, we didn't notice this until too late - it's your own fault if you don't check the invoice immediately. It's a shame, even if it was just lost or an oversight. The food basically deserves a high rating. Unfortunately the chop wasn't my best choice - good and fatty portion - but a bit dry. The schnitzel was hot and huge, but unfortunately a bit over-seasoned. Unfortunately, I had a different idea about the price ratio for the “Bread Basket” starter. The other appetizers and drinks were great.

Good food in the center of Quedlinburg old town.

The restaurant was recommended to us on the night watchman tour, so we wanted to reserve a seat for eight people. However, we were cheekily brushed off on the phone without any explanation. After repeated calls, the owner simply hung up the phone and pointed to Mary's Pub. No understanding.

We had dinner with the company in the Ratskeller. Despite the large number of guests, we received the drinks and food very quickly. The staff is very friendly and the restaurant has a rustic atmosphere. All dishes are of very high quality. The ox cheeks were amazing! Super tender. Melted in your mouth. The side dishes were also very tasty. I can fully recommend a visit to the Ratskeller.

The Ratskeller and the entire team in Quedlinburg are simply fantastic, you come in as a guest and feel at home! The service staff are incredibly friendly and readily accommodate special requests; EVERYTHING fits from A to Z down to the smallest detail! The kitchen team also does tasty wonders; they are generous portions that are perfectly seasoned and prepared like a little work of art! You simply have to experience the Ratskeller! Keep it up!!!

Nice restaurant under the town hall of Quedlinburg. Beautifully decorated inside. My schnitzel with mushrooms and fried potatoes was very tasty! There was also a Grimmberg Abbey beer.
