A very nice restaurant with highly recommended German-Indian cuisine, with something for everyone, in a historic ambience in the beautiful Melsung town hall.

The restaurant was recommended to us. We weren't that enthusiastic.

We were in Melsungen for a few days and had such a good meal there on the first evening that we ate there all three days. Simply fantastic, super friendly service, everything was just right. Price-performance ratio was great, we were pleasantly surprised. I can only recommend it.

Extended family of 5 adults and 2 small children, we ate outside. Place was very pleasant and very busy. Nice location at the foot of the marketplace. Indian food, especially the mango chicken, was excellent and authentic. Several of our party opted for German dishes which were also excellent. Service was very good considering how busy he place was, and prices were mid-range and reasonable.

Service/waiter very nice and really super fast. The food was delicious too! The portions were a good size. Everything was perfect and a lovely evening. Always my pleasure!!!

There is a mixture of Indian and German food that seems strange at first. But the food is surprisingly tasty and quite affordable.

Nice, cozy, nice staff, but please don't sell schnitzel anymore because I can also eat frozen schnitzel in the snack bar.

There is a lot of room for improvement when it comes to service! Food was good.

Attention, the boss was in the toilet at the same time as me and preferred to serve food to the guests without washing his hands (2 minutes later).

Mega delicious food, the schnitzels are really recommended. Likewise the freshly prepared mango lassi. We were also very satisfied with the price-performance ratio. What was a shame was that it was a bit noisy at the counter (probably due to the rush) but otherwise it was really great. We'd love to come back :)

The Indian vegetable soup with curry was excellent. The various schnitzels were also very successful.

Cozy and neat! We were there on Saturday evening, there were no people and it's strange) very tasty, large portions and super service. Cuisine with an Indian accent! If you don't like spicy food, be sure to mention it. We sat for a while for a conversation and did not notice how the opening hours of the establishment came to an end, but they did not say anything to us and it was very nice, respect for such an establishment!

Had the grill plate and can't complain. Both the beef and chicken were still juicy. The chop was a bit dry, but that could also be because I ate it at the end. My friend's steak was also super tender. Price-performance ratio is ok. Drinks and food came in a reasonable time. Thank you Akram for the nice service.

Oh well. The boss was annoyed and complained. There wasn't much desire to serve indoors in the basement either. Food wasn't worth a star and even though they didn't have much work to do, no one ever asked if it tasted good. For me the (unfortunately) first and 100% last time. I had to tick the stars otherwise the post wouldn't be posted. But they are not correct

Food isn't exactly master classes. Sauce is definitely a finished product with a number of flavor enhancers. It's a shame 😕 so it wasn't worth the price 😔😔

We had been here once years ago and had fond memories of the restaurant. German-Indian cuisine in the Ratskeller is a promising announcement. What this means is that you can get both typical German and Indian dishes. Anyone who loves Indian cuisine will certainly not be disappointed. The vegetable soup was to die for, I've never had better chicken tikka masala: wonderfully seasoned, the meat wasn't dry. The chicken sabzi was also incredibly tasty - all dishes tasted freshly prepared, some of the vegetables still had a slight bite. To accompany the meal there was Hütt beer (very good) and an extravagant Gavi. Very nice owner who really cares about every single guest. Sometimes the best things can be found in places where you absolutely didn't expect them. The Melsunger Ratskeller with its Indian food is one of these.

Well, okay, it tasted good. But it was just a pan gyro. At €15.90 I would expect one from the rotisserie. Even if the meat was of good quality, reasonably tender and still juicy, it can't really compete with the rotisserie gyros of some competitors. But considering it came out of the pan, it was good. The portion was ok too. It was very positive that I was able to eat so late and that I didn't have to wait long. Although I am of the opinion that something like gyros doesn't necessarily suit a Ratskeller, I expect more upscale cuisine, but Melsungen doesn't necessarily have enough clientele to run such a restaurant economically. In this respect, the Ratskeller is a very good restaurant in a good central location. I will definitely come back.

Nice ambience on the market square outside; delicious Indian dishes

At the sausage festival at the castle on a Sunday we were able to eat a schnitzel with fries and salad for under 11 euros in the sunshine and it was delicious... We didn't expect that! Great sitting and eating - simple but delicious 😋

Good food...the chef helped a little with handing out the food. He didn't seem to be in a particularly good mood that day.

Tonight we went to the Ratskeller for a schnitzel meal, since it's schnitzel weeks. Schnitzel hot and tasty and quickly on the table. Great ambience.

Wir waren sehr zufrieden. Sehr netter Service, das Essen hat uns sehr gut geschmeckt (Schmand schnitzel - im Angebot für 9,90 €! und chicken Tikka). Getränke gut. Schönes Ambiente im Ratskeller.

The service was okay But the food was anything but good, the meat smelled like fish and was inedible. That was the first and last time

Ein gutes deutsch/indisches Restaurant. Kann gute deutsche Küche und sehr gut indische Küche. Die indischen Gerichte haben eine angenehme schärfe und eine gute Würze. Schönes Ambiente und freundliche Mitarbeiter. Preis-Leistung ist gut.

Das Hähnchencurry war sehr gut.

Haben bei dem schönen Wetter draußen gesessen. Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich und das Essen war köstlich (Reis mit Hähnchen in Curry Mango Soße)

Sehr freundlicher Empfang und den ganzen Abend aufmerksam bedient worden! Alle haben sich für indisches Essen entschieden und wir wurden nicht enttäuscht! Sehr schmackhaft, manches fruchtig, manches schärfer, dazu ausgesprochen guten Reis! Wir kommen sicher wieder! Auch mit Schnitzel-Fans kann man dort indisch essen🤗 Zu empfehlen!!

Essen war gut nur der Chef etwas mürrisch

Trotz vieler reservierter Tische bekommen wir auch noch einen. Die Bedingungen war sehr freundlich und wir bekamen unsere Bestellung recht schnell. Wir kommen bestimmt wieder wenn wir in der Stadt sind.

Das panierte Schnitzel war zu lange fritiert und nicht gebraten, das indische Essen wenig gewürzt, wenig schmackhaft, das Hühnchen trocken. Und vom Service wurde man abgefertigt statt bedient. Vieles kommt aus der Tube oder Großhandelspack... Lediglich der Ratskeller wirkt wie einer und das Ambiente in der schönen Altstadt passt, Karte war leider klebrig. Folglich eine Enttäuschung

NOT the kind of Indian Cuisine you would get in India! I had Vegetarian Biryani and I did not like it at all. There was no taste! It was all oily! The salad tasted better than the biryani. The salad was supposed to be perhaps replace Raita. But it wasn't Raita. My colleague ordered schnitzel and it was okay.

Solides Essen, ich hatte chicken Curry, war gut, Begleitung hatte Schweinefilet mit Pommes und Champignons und war sehr begeistert. Wir saßen bei bestem Sommerwetter auf dem schönen Platz am Brunnen

Das indische Essen ist ne Wucht. Sehr zu empfehlen. Aber auch der Service ist unaufdringlich, aber gut. Jederzeit gerne wieder.

Leckeres Essen und aufmerksamer freundlicher Service heute Abend. Wir hatten 3 Vorspeisen und 3 indische Hauptgänge. Toll abgeschmeckt und gewürzt.. Hier hat heute alles gepasst. Faires Preis - Leistungs Verhältnis.. Wir kommen wieder..

Gut bürgerliche Küche, Mit ein einigen indischen Gerichten. Essen war super lecker, wobei es ruhig etwas mehr sein könnte. Das Ambiente wirkt sehr altbacken....

Wir haben grandios gegessen. Das Essen schmekt sehr gut, alles frisch zubereitet, super gewürzt! Wir haben uns für indische Gerichte entschieden und nicht bereut. Preis Leistung ist unschlagbar. Personal sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Wir kommen definitiv wieder!

Das Rathaus mit den Restaurant Ratskeller steht am Marktplatz von Melsungen und bietet einen schönen Fachwerkanblick.Das Restaurant selber reicht Deutsche,Italienische und Indische Speisen die lecker zubereitet sind auch die Bedienung ist hier sehr aufmerksam.Vor den Restaurant steht noch ein Brunnen der aber nicht in Betrieb war. Schönes Ambiente, essen solide, Bedienung seltsam.

Mit dem Essen war ich nicht so zufrieden. Ich hatte das Gefühl die Soßen waren Fertigsoßen. Aber gut, es ist auch Geschmacksache. Die Bedienung war nett. Generell ist es nicht so mein Geschmack.

Immer wieder gerne für alle Menschen die insbesondere indisches Essen mögen. Für mich kulinarisch immer ein Höchstgenuss
