I had lunch with my family and it was great. Nice atmosphere, tasty food and very good service. The only problem is that there is no changing table for babies.

We were thrilled with the Ratskeller. Good staff. However, the quality dropped significantly, not to mention the prices and portions. Ordered pasta and received children's portion of pasta. A small portion. Really now, 1kg of pasta costs 2 euros. You lose regular customers through this type of restaurant management.

We had previously been to the calf hall and were ignored by the staff - so we went to the Ratskeller. We were immediately spoken to and taken to the table. Although the restaurant was already very full, the waiter made a nice seat for us. 5 minutes later we already had our drinks and 10 minutes later our food. The food was brought by another employee, but our waiter came by again to wish you bon appetit. You are treated really well here. Food tastes great - prices are great! The Ratskeller is and remains our number 1 when it comes to German cuisine. The atmosphere here is also really wonderful. Very comfortable ☺️

A German restaurant with decent amount of choices in the menu to choose from. Biggest tick was when paying for the bill. We were automatically charged a 20% service fee while the other table were asked of how much they wanted to pay for the service charge. Interesting … Not a rather pleasant surprise. And having read others’ comments, found out this is not the first time this had happened. So beware.

The Ratskeller impresses with an impressive ambience and an atmosphere that invites you to linger. The service was consistently friendly and attentive - there's really nothing to complain about here. Unfortunately, the food didn't quite keep up with the taste. Although everything seemed freshly prepared, I found the dishes overall to be rather average. I would have liked more sophistication or spice.. All in all, a nice place for an evening in a special environment, but the taste didn't convince me enough to come back.

We walked into this restaurant quite by accident while on a tour of Augsburg. However, it turned out to be an excellent choice! Even though I'm not a fan of German cuisine, the food was delicious! You can feel that each dish is prepared with fresh products. Very well seasoned and prepared. Professional and nice service. I also liked the decor and atmosphere of the place. I highly recommend it.

On December 15, 2024, one of the waiters (around 55, strong) collided with a friend's three-year-old daughter. She sustained a bleeding wound on her nose and fell on her back. Instead of at least looking around to see where the parents were, the waiter just kept walking without stopping. Then she lay there. After I asked him if he would like to at least apologize, he asked me if he should have stepped aside. 10 minutes later he came to the table, gave a lecture and began with "I don't know where you work, but...". No insight, no apology, Merry Christmas. While waiting for the food, we let our daughters walk between the tables, laughing loudly here and there. But it was still before 12 p.m. and a maximum of a fifth of the tables were occupied. Even if it had been an accident (which I now doubt, because the behavior is consistent), then you don't continue walking, not on the street and especially not where you are supposed to receive guests and look after them. In traffic that would be a hit-and-run. But the food was very good, kudos to the chefs!

Wir hatten zum Abendessen Schweinshaxe und Kalbsschnitzel bestellt. Das Essen kam sehr zügig und hat uns bestens geschmeckt. Unsere sehr junge, männliche, dunkelhaarige Bedienung war äußerst freundlich. Er hat vor Motivation gesprüht und den Service inkl. Einkassieren wie ein "alter" Vollprofi durchgeführt. Wow! Der Ratskeller resp. Decke ist wunderschön. Leider ist es, wenn voll besetzt, dementsprechend sehr laut.

Very good food and cellar beer, equally good service. Only the fried potatoes were nothing (mushy and greasy). Unfortunately, the breading of the schnitzel was also not very crispy. A little more attention to detail and it would be 5 stars.

Well, I really didn't expect that at all. The entrance is so inconspicuous and leads into this fascinating restaurant via a long tunnel. From the inside it looks gigantic. The waiters are super friendly. I thought the food was okay, but I gave it five stars because maybe it was just the dish I chose. The prices are of course a bit higher, but overall I would go there again at any time.

Nice entrance, nice ambience inside. Good menu, good beer, prices slightly higher, but everything is within reason. When there is a lot going on, often, the waitress doesn't always follow up with reorders. But it's ok.

The food and service were great...unfortunately we sat near the door and it was very drafty, otherwise highly recommended.

The traditional Bavarian dishes were of excellent quality and very tasty. Particularly noteworthy is the animal-friendly restaurant, which allows dogs entry.

Great atmosphere, very cozy, but you have to dress warmly as it is not pleasantly warm in the Ratskeller. The food was very good, but the Kaiserschmarrn was not good, there were more raisins in the Kaiserschmarrn than the rest. Service was very quick and very friendly.

Restaurant in Augsburg (Germany). It is located under the Town Hall. Very large and well decorated. The typical dish is knuckle. They serve it with the skin so toasted that it tastes like a torrezno. Very good

The worst experience of service in Germany. I've been here for a year, and this is by far the worst experience I had. When we entered the restaurant and we were looking for a table, somebody started shouting behind me. I stopped, and then the guy asked me if he could help us. I told him we were looking for a table for 3 persons, and he arrogantly said, "Is it where you want or where I say?". I said ok, tell me please where we can have a place. After a few minutes conversation with one of his mates, he proceeded to look over a paper that had 1 free table, and with a smart-ass attitude he said "I think I have a table for you". After we had been seated, the waiter asked us what we wanted to order. We told him we would like 2 beers and we are thinking about ordering some food. When the waiter brought us the beer, I tried telling him (in german) that we would like to have a schnitzel and at this moment told us arrogantly (almost shouting) that we may make an order when he is done with the beer. At this moment, he was speaking so loud to us that all the other customers started to look at our table. After a few minutes past, he came back to us to ask what we would like to order, then we took a decision that we wouldn't like to eat anything from this place. After 30 minutes, they brought us the receipt. Highly not recommend!!

Eating in the Ratskeller is a really good choice. Reservations are recommended, we were lucky and were able to get a table for ourselves. Service is top, the food is fantastic and the ambience is also top.

After visiting the Botanical Garden on October 27th, 24, we refreshed ourselves in the Ratskeller in Augsburg. Around lunchtime it was quite busy, lots of reservations, always a good sign for a first visit and for the culinary enjoyment you're hoping for. From the lunch menu, the attentive waiter Fred recommended the Pangasius fillet with a rich Hollandaise sauce, powerful, with a good note of butter, which I couldn't tell whether it had been pre-made or freshly prepared. No hint of vinegar, noticeable lemon juice, just like the pangasius fillet, at a pleasant temperature. The same applied to the tasty boiled potatoes. The side salad cracked when eaten, the classic dressing was very pleasant and not too sour [17.8]. As an aperitif or to refresh myself after the hike, I chose a half-light beer from the Riegele brewery [4.7]. The Commerzienrat-Riegele-Privat is a light beer with a spicy, mild note, brewed using the old grist mash process, a real pleasure. For the main course, a mineral water, Mozartquelle [0.75 l a` 5.6], which can be described as cheap for a brewery. The one star deduction is for a completely unsuccessful dessert. The raspberry brownie with warm vanilla sauce [8.9] was the complete contrast to the main course and a bit of a kitchen disaster. The brownie itself was very watery (either frozen raspberries and not drained enough, the mixing ratio wasn't right, it wasn't in the oven long enough or it had too much sugar, which is known to draw out moisture). It may also be doubted whether a high-quality couverture such as B. Vahlrona with 66% cocoa content was used. But I rule out that the brownie accidentally fell into the Lech. The vanilla sauce was cold instead of warm and probably didn't contain real vanilla pods (but to save my honor when it comes to ingredients, I would like to point out that both good couverture and, above all, real vanilla pods have high retail prices that can hardly be amortized in the brewery restaurant industry should). Because of the complaint, good Fred gave us a mug of hot coffee on the house, which washed the not very tasty brownie off our palate. Conclusion: Overall successful, rustic-beautiful atmosphere, clean place, good waiter, very likely to see you again. As always, a note to my handicapped colleagues at the end. There is an elevator to the “cellar”, parts of the bar and bar are barrier-free. Unfortunately we forgot to look at the sanitary facilities. Sorry. MEH economist i. R.

We spontaneously had dinner in the Ratskeller on November 25th. The ambience is great, but unfortunately this is the only positive thing you can say about the Ratskeller 🤷 I ordered 2 veal schnitzels with a mustard and horseradish breading and fried potatoes plus vegetables for €23.90. Unfortunately I couldn't taste anything from the breading, which is what I told the waiter. 2 minutes later he brought me 2 packets of sweet mustard 😂 Unfortunately the fried potatoes were frozen and so were the vegetables... Unfortunately, the waiter didn't show up in between and there were no questions about how good it is or can I bring them something else 🤷 There is no internet reception in this restaurant, but there is no WiFi either 😂 Really a shame for such an atmosphere. Unfortunately I cannot recommend this restaurant 👎

Finally back in Augsburg. Even after years, the Ratskeller is still the top address on Rathausplatz. Our waiter's service was outstanding. Despite the many guests in the gallery, always attentive. TOP! Our food was very tasty. Once the Swabian plate and cream mushrooms with bread dumplings and side salad. Ambiance, unique. Great satisfaction all around. If you are on vacation in Augsburg and are hungry, you will find many good opportunities to eat well. My recommendation.. The RATSKELLER.. Something on your own behalf... PARK.. VERY simple.. don't park on the side of the road.. Only possible until 8 p.m. The parking garage in Apothekergäßchen. Just a few meters away from the Ratskeller. Entry without a ticket. There are 2 monitors at the exit. You have to enter your license plate and pay. !! ONLY possible with EC card!!!

Est ce à cause du chien (pourtant nous avions vérifié par mail que les chiens sont acceptés), du fait que nous n'avions pas réservé ? En tout cas l'accueil a été plus que distant. Quant à la nourriture, le jarret-choucroute pour lequel nous sommes allés au Ratskeller, s'est révélé très moyen. Comme l'indiquent la fréquentation et le bruit de l'immense salle, c'est plus un endroit pour sortir entre copains/collègues, qu'un bon resto.

A great restaurant with a great ambience. Staff was very friendly and accommodating and really great staff quickly. The food is very tasty and has real German cuisine. The only thing that could perhaps be improved is the WiFi that is provided. Due to the thick walls, there was almost no network available at Telekom. But I still give it 5/5 stars. I would love to come back and just a little bit of information: like in almost every restaurant, reservations should be made.

We were in the Ratskeller Augsburg with the family. As a starter we ordered a salad bowl, pancake soup and potato soup. The main course was tarte flambée and onion roast with cheese spaetzle. For dessert we had Mohnschupfnudeln and Kaiserschmarrn. Everything was excellent – ​​excellent taste and top quality! A great restaurant in the middle of Augsburg city center. The ambience is unique and the food has always been top. Regardless of whether it was at our civil wedding or simply for a spontaneous meal, we were always happy. The quality of the food is great and the price is absolutely fair. I was disappointed. Ordered onion roast and there was no onion. Cheese spaetzle as a side dish and it tasted boring and bland. For dessert I had Kaiserschmarren, which was also boring and dry.

Friendly service, a cool cellar experience, and fresh tasty food. Ordered the allgäuer salad and it came with a huge amount of emmenthal cheese and a generous portion of chicken on crispy greens. Weißwürst sausage and side salad also very good. Friend’s schnitzel was delish with a cranberry sauce.

Putengeschnetzeltes kam ohne Pute nur mit Pilzen. Kein Nachlass oder Ersatz. Ist für so ein elegantes Haus schon sehr schwach. Sauce der Kindergerichte war auch säuerlich.

Obwohl wir an einem Sonntagabend, ohne Reservierung, erschienen sind, trotzdem noch einen Tisch bekommen. Der Service war super, sehr nett und unheimlich schnell. Die Speisen waren außerordentlich lecker, Wiederhohlungsgefahr !! Einzig die Lautstärke stört, kann aber das Restaurant nichts für. Ist halt ein Historisches Gebäude mit unheimlich hohen Decken.

It tasted good. Schnitzel was good. Unfortunately I didn't have any cranberries with the Ratskellerschnitzel :( Cranberries are an absolute must with every schnitzel. And the selection of desserts is slim, very small and very run of the mill. Apple strudel and moor noodles are really standard. How about: chocolate and vanilla mousse, tiramisu, profiterol, pudding, ice cream sundae other than chocolate, vanilla, strawberry. Steamed dumplings, selection of cakes etc.

The restaurant is in an old cellar . Brick arch vaults and thick brick columns provide a special architectural aspects as well as create a very special deco. There is no loud echo at all though, good acoustic design. We were treated with attentive and friendly staff. Food was very good. Unfiltered beer was our favorite. Decent price level. An excellent place to enjoy German food and atmosphere.

If the administrator who greets the guests thinks he can talk to his colleague about our nationality and be smart, I will upset him. Scoperto per caso. Abbiamo mangiato dentro perchè fuori il tempo era brutto. Locale caratteristico con atmosfera calda e accogliente. Poche persone forse perchè era pranzo di una giornata infrasettimanale. Piatti tipici bavaresi e birra di ottima qualità. Personale gentile e disponibile vista la poca dimestichezza con la lingua tedesca.

This is a traditional German brewery, the location is beautiful although inside I would have loved a bit more of light. The food is average, we’ve had better pork chop elsewhere but anyway it was good, the snitzel was good. Service was average as week as the price
