We were here on a business trip one weeknight and were still able to snag a table, even though the place was already packed. In the warmer months, you can also sit outside. The Augustiner Radler is delicious, and the food is truly outstanding. The portions are filling. The ambiance is rustic, like a classic inn, yet not overwhelming. We found it very pleasant. I definitely recommend it.

Ate well and drank very good beer. Service quick and excellent, no complaints whatsoever.

This is a really authentic restaurant in Augsburg with great Bavarian food. Leave space in your stomach when you decide to go there. It’s worth it.

We came across this restaurant by chance after it was recommended to us by a friendly passer-by - and it was definitely a stroke of luck! The duck was cooked to perfection, crispy on the outside and wonderfully juicy on the inside. The children's schnitzel was also completely convincing - tender meat, perfectly breaded and prepared with a lot of love. Particularly noteworthy is the friendly and courteous staff who looked after us attentively and made the stay even more pleasant. Overall, a thoroughly successful visit – we would love to come back!

The visit to the inn was very pleasant. The food was good. The drinks didn't take long. However, we were really badly served. No please, no thank you, beer was just slammed on the table, etc. It's a shame, we actually really enjoyed it but the service was very rude.

Quality scores, every time. The inn under the arch meets this requirement. A good, home-style cuisine is the guiding principle. The menu offers a large selection of dishes. The processes are well-rehearsed, the team is committed and very friendly. We recommend the roast pork and the Kaiserschmarrn for dessert. The stuff for a good time comes from the bar: noble stuff from the Augustiner brewery.

I've wanted to eat here for a while and was very disappointed. The waitress was rather unfriendly in her manner. When we left she definitely demonstrated her unprofessionalism. About that at the end. We had the dumplings which arrived dry and were bland in taste. The homemade iced tea tastes like effervescent tablets, very disgusting. Fish on vegetables, similar to the dumplings, disappointing. The burnt vegetables were served in such a way that it was not visible that they were burnt. As if you couldn't taste it... I had no reason to tip, which caused the waiter to react grumpily. Maybe you should practice being friendly first before expecting tips per se. The crowning glory was the toilet. It says on the door that it's not compulsory, but you'd still be happy about it if you paid for it. Maybe you should simply pay the cleaner with the grumpy expression on her face (the one when she enters and of course even more so when she leaves the toilet) appropriately so that as a guest you don't have to pay anything extra if you've already eaten in the restaurant. Then the expression on her face changes to a smile while she sits at home instead of permanently in front of the toilet. Plus point: the facility is quite nice.

The Wirthaus unter dem Bogen in Augsburg is convincing across the board! The food is delicious, the portions are generous and the service works efficiently on two floors. The atmosphere is rustic, inviting and always busy - a sign of the excellent home-style cuisine, which I really like. Particularly impressive: For just €12.90 you can get a huge and delicious lunch here, including a starter, dessert and espresso. Absolutely clear recommendation!

Ate very well...the staff was very friendly. The table was ordered for 12 people, but two more people came along...two chairs were quickly added, it fit. Would eat there again.

Ich habe online einen Tisch für 5 Personen reserviert, was wunderbar funktioniert hat – vielen Dank dafür! Wir sind allerdings 30 Minuten früher eingetroffen. Unser Tisch war zwar frei, aber noch nicht vorbereitet, was verständlich ist !!!! Die Bedienung war freundlich und hat sich sichtlich bemüht, nett zu sein. Allerdings war die Arbeitsorganisation nicht ganz korrekt, was sich in einigen Punkten gezeigt hat: Beim Servieren der Getränke wurde einer Person leider das falsche Getränk gebracht Dies wurde zwar schnell korrigiert, hätte aber vermieden werden können. Die Gerichte kamen nach ca. 20-25 Minuten, allerdings nur teilweise. Besteck wurde erst nachträglich gebracht, nachdem die Bedienung dies bemerkt hatte. Mein bestellter Zwiebelrostbraten war geschmacklich gut, jedoch leider lauwarm bis kalt – ebenso wie die Semmelknödel. Die Beilagen Salate kamen erst etwa 5 Minuten nach den Hauptgerichten an. Trotz der Bemühungen des Servicepersonals haben diese organisatorischen Schwächen den Gesamteindruck getrübt.

Amazing Bavarian restaurant with amazing and delicious food.

The inn was recommended to us by a passer-by. He didn't promise too much. I have never eaten so deliciously in my life. This is exclusive with huge portions and reasonably good prices. The service is super nice, quick and attentive. We had a wonderful evening.

It's crazy good what's presented here at a very reasonable price. The finest roast pork with salad or soup of the day and espresso, for €12.90. Service was super friendly and insulting. Really recommended

Delicious typical food, super friendly service and cold beer

Even though menus with such a large selection usually put us off, the many positive reviews convinced us to reserve a table in the inn. And we weren't disappointed: the food was extremely tasty, the portions were huge and the service was attentive and very friendly. We can recommend the restaurant to everyone who loves good German cuisine and especially classics with dark sauce.

We tried the inn because of positive word of mouth. Here is our conclusion: Ambiance - great, very cozy, bright, friendly, has a great charm. Service - very friendly, tried hard, flexible, careful. Thumbs up! Price/performance - food super tasty, portions generous (even a good eater will be full) Quality - unreserved recommendation Other - An owner who you can see enjoys his work, who passes this on to his employees, a really nice overall picture. During our little trip to Augsburg, we particularly noticed the tavern under the arch because of its ambience. A rustic Bavarian restaurant as you know it. The waitresses were friendly and accommodating. The food was also very good. When my venison goulash arrived, it was already a decent portion, but about 2 minutes later I received another bowl full of meat and sauce with the comment that the chefs hadn't put enough meat in my portion. The meat was tender and juicy and the bread dumplings with it were also good. The portion was more than enough, so I didn't eat all of the bread dumplings and the broccoli that came with it. All in all a very good restaurant with a great ambience.

Friendly, fast and attentive service. Really tasty pancake soup and the Kaiserschmarrn was a real highlight. I also thought it was good that we were asked whether we would like it with or without raisins. Gladly again. Can only be recommended!

Wir waren schon oft hier. Die Servicemitarbeiter sind immer super freundlich auch zu Kindern. Das Essen war bisher auch immer super lecker. Wirklich köstliche deutsche Gerichte zu guten Preisen. Wir kommen immer gerne her. Aber man sollte auf jeden Fall reservieren.

Full of anticipation, we went to the “Wirtshaus unter dem Bogen” for Sunday lunch for the first time. I would say the ambience is exactly like an upscale tavern like you would find in Munich, large dining room, narrow, beautiful tables, full house with the corresponding background noise. The prices are sometimes at Munich level or even sometimes higher: Double espresso: €5.80... that's very expensive for the price/performance ratio... but a children's portion of cheese sparrows: €6.50... that's ok again... children's carvings with fries (okay, veal, but pork can't be ordered at all): €14.90... hard... What I didn't think was ok for this upscale gastronomy was my onion roast; which actually costs €29.80, but with a “change of side dish” (yes, apparently the restaurant also has to make money here) of spaetzle on fried potatoes +€0.80 was added, and was served around the time I had just finished half of my starter had... so tight timing, no cozy Sunday dinner... I even observed a waiter licking his fingers after serving the food (apparently he got in the sauce tapped) and then cheerfully continued serving. I'm just saying meal, but in fairness I have to say that the waitresses had a good time serving the guests. A little more staff would have been helpful. All in all, good food, no wow factor and this will be our first and last visit. It's a shame, but there are better inns.

Cordon Bleu and goulash soup. The former with salad and espresso afterwards as a lunch menu. Great.🙂

Down-to-earth Bavarian restaurant with good food and friendly service

The goulash soup is a 10 out of 10 and the roast pork is simply delicious. It is served with a delicious dumpling with plenty of the best sauce in the world. Thank you for this experience. As a very critical hobby cook, I have to say that it is the best regional cuisine I have ever eaten in a German inn. In the future there will only be one address for me in Augsburg.

Great restaurant with delicious food! We spent our Christmas party here and enjoyed a very nice evening. I can't say anything about the meat dishes because I had a vegetarian dish, which wasn't just cheese spaetzle for a change. Really great! The service is great - very, very friendly, attentive and accommodating. There were around 20 of us and the restaurant was busy at the time, but our food came very quickly. Our drinks were always refilled quickly. I'd love to come back. Thank you for this lovely evening.

Traveling to Germany in December last year - so we had a drive of a few hours on the and we decided to stop in Augsburg to have lunch. The place of choice was Das Wirtshaus ... and here are the findings. Location - very close to the townhall of Augsburg - on the Unter den Bogen street ... it's a pedestrian section of the city center, so you have to park the car somewhere nearby and walk to the place. Good seating capacity - several levels - we asked for a table for 3 and we were directed to the upper levels where we found a table for us. Service - fast and professional , the waiter did a very good job. Food - well, when in Germany I've chosen German food - Calf liver with onions , and dumplings , all served in gravy , a very good choice - the liver was nicely cooked, just right and the gravy was delicious , a very nicely balanced dish from my perspective. The menu was loaded with very good choices, the gents I've been with ordered a plate for 2 - with half a duck , pork and sausages - it looked really great and they loved what they've got. They've got a good selection of drinks too, so you can find your favorite ... personally I'm a huge fan of German beer and picked the beer that advertised on the table the "Maximator" - a superb sample of German brewing, a lovely dark beer ... Prices - very decent with a great price to quality ration. When you are in Augsburg, and you are looking for some German food, I recommend you try this place.

Located in the center very close to the huge Rathaus Platz, an impo nente building with attractive interior with classic decoration. We had dinner wonder with our dog. The dog sonal with knowledge of Spanish He is friendly and efficient. The typical food German food with generous portions and well cooked quality product at more than correct prices.Desserts large and tasty. Relaxed atmosphere given, wine and beer list estu hanging, very cool.

I went in briefly 20 minutes ago to ask if a table was available for 4 people, the waitress was a small gentleman with glasses who was completely unfriendly and annoyed, I just made a sign with my hand with number 4, I could have just said, one moment and complete

Bavarian food in the middle of Augsburg

The food and service are excellent, although it costs €1.00 for cranberries and €0.80 more for a dumpling instead of coleslaw, which I only find on the bill is a shame and unfortunately seems a bit greedy.

We had a nice time here but there were issues; probably caused by language as much as anything else. We booked a table for 2 at 6:30 but when we turned up we were told that our table was unavailable as it ws booked for 6pm. We saw the waitress write down the details (6:30) as we called by in the late morning to make the booking in person and I even offered a mobile phone number to confirm it. We were sent up to the 2nd floor and were found a table but it felt like we were a bit of an inconvenience. The place was busy with Christmas parties who were the focus of attention. The food was tasty, and arrived quickly. The beer and wine were fine too. The table booking mix up could have been handled better.

Our waiter was grumpy from arrival until we left. Not a smile or a question if our food was good. She misunderstood our order and therefore brought the wrong food. Seemed disinterested in what was going on and ruined our experience. There is generally a lot of noise when the room is full and definitely a place I would avoid with smaller children. I would come again if there were no other options…. The only positive was their spetsle was super good.

An absolutely great restaurant! The food was outstanding, but what really made our visit memorable was the exceptional service. Our waitress was incredibly friendly, attentive and made sure we felt completely comfortable. She fulfilled every wish with a smile and was always there without being intrusive. A true pearl in gastronomy! We'll be back next year and have already made reservations - not just because of the delicious food, but also because of the fantastic service. Das Wirtshaus liegt inmitten der Fußgängerzone. Zunächst haben uns die Preise etwas abgeschreckt. Diese liegen doch etwas höher als wie bei vergleichbaren Restaurants. Aber es ist jeden Cent wert. Der Reihe nach: Wir wurden sehr freundlich begrüßt und konnten uns noch einen Tisch aussuchen. Die Einrichtung ist so wie es in einem Wirtshaus auch sein soll - einfach gemütlich. Der Service war perfekt, total freundlich, kompetent und sehr aufmerksam, auch wenn das Wirtshaus langsam immer voller wurde - TOP! Zum Essen: Der Zwiebelrostbraten und das Cordon Bleu schmeckten sehr gut, die Portionen sind wirklich üppig. Preislich, wie gesagt schon recht teuer. Aber man bekommt wirklich was für sein Geld und das war es uns dann auch wert. Wir haben es nicht bereut.
