A truly traditional, top-class Bavarian restaurant. The food is plentiful and delicious. Service is attentive and friendly. We'll be back :)

The food was very tasty and the portion size was generous. The problem was the inattentiveness, almost ignorance, of the waiters outside at late lunchtime. They always skillfully looked away, and even a wave was acknowledged with a turn around. It took 20 minutes for us to get a drink, another 20 minutes for us to order our food, and then another good 20 minutes for the meal to be served. Other guests who arrived later and were sitting outside the door had their food before we could order. 1.5 hours is unacceptable to me during the late lunch rush at 2:00 PM, especially when only a third of the tables were occupied.

Typical place in the downtown area with a good, genuine atmosphere.

We highly recommend this place. The beer and food were exceptionally delicious, and the staff were attentive and very efficient.

Excellent value for money. Staff: friendly, attentive, and helpful, even up for a quick chat. Not your typical Augsburger! The atmosphere in the pedestrian zone is hard to change, even if you're far enough away from Königsplatz (Hey, dude, bro, dude, etc.)! Rathausplatz is just around the corner.

A good place to eat in Augsburg. The waiter was very friendly. The food was very good, with large portions. It's a central location with a lot of people waiting for lunch. We came at 3:00 p.m. and they sent us upstairs, which had plenty of room.

Very good food, and reasonably priced for the portions. A good selection of home-style dishes, as well as seasonal specialties like venison, is also available. The homemade iced tea is highly recommended.

Unfortunately, I can't comment on the food, but the service is abysmal. My wife and I wanted to have something to eat and drink there last Monday while passing through. Since most of the tables outside were empty, we sat at a free table for four so we could put the backpack we had with us on one of the free chairs. The waiter immediately came over and said that since there were only two of us, we had to sit at a table for two. After some back and forth and a reference to the large number of empty seats, he reluctantly let us sit. But then he immediately slammed his cards on the table and urged us to order something right away. That was the point at which we decided to find something else. The woman at the next table (alone at a table for four) told us that she completely understood our frustration. I then tried to calmly explain to the waiter that I found his behavior inappropriate and unprofessional, to which he simply replied, "No, we don't choose where our guests sit, we do." Well, if that's the case, then we'll just choose not to sit there at all. What a shame, really. ☹️

First order 20-minute wait, service then OK, reordering only upon request. Restrooms: Payment requested by the manager (see photo), then they should also be cleaned. THE GUEST If you prefer fresh and seasonally prepared food, you should go to the market restaurant, for example. Sorry, we didn't count how many times the three-quarters of the service staff walked by, but it was a hell of a lot...

We had lunch with a group of new people. Advance reservations were important because the Plärrer (a kind of music) started with the parade. Service was prompt and friendly. The food arrived at the same time, so everything was fine. The food itself is good, befitting a pub. Nothing to complain about.

Extremely unfriendly and unprofessional service! On Monday, August 25, 2025, at approximately 4:00 PM, we were initially aggressively accosted by the waiter because we, as a couple, tried to reserve a table for four outside (with hardly any other guests). We had barely sat down when we were shouted at for our drinks!?! At that point, the place was over for us!

Great! Restaurants like this are becoming increasingly rare. The roast pork is amazing. The turkey strips were just as good. And then there was the friendliness... We'd love to come back.

All in all, it was okay. We waited for over half an hour (with our 3-year-old children) before we even got our drinks. It wasn't very busy (we were there well past lunchtime). It was incredibly hot, and our children were already whining. The funny thing is, the tray with our drinks had been waiting at the bar for a long time, and there were staff members standing around everywhere, but we weren't served. Sure, everyone has their own tables, etc., but as I said, it wasn't very busy, and most people were just standing around. What a shame!

Don't go to this place, the food was mediocre and the waitress was very rude!!! Unfortunately, these people who don't have polite manners should stay home... she gave rude answers to every question and was visibly annoyed. A disgrace!!!

Been there last week on saturday friend recomended the place we had lunch we order Schwabenteller, Haxe and Kaiserschmarrn which our lovley waitress Olga recomended was amazing expirence ❤️ deffinetly worth to visit amazing stuff amazing atmosphere 😍

I'll start with the ambiance. It combines modernity with typical pub charm, and you immediately feel at home in the restaurant. The service was fast and friendly, but they warned us when we ordered that it might take a while, as the three-story restaurant was quite full at the time. It wasn't a problem for us; the salad and drinks arrived rather quickly. Now for the food. Wow, thank you, finally these Kässpatzen (cheese spaetzle) truly lived up to their name! The dumplings were shiny and firm to the bite, and the cheese was very good quality. The price/performance ratio in this restaurant is truly excellent.

There were eight of us here as participants in a training course. Completely spontaneous and without reservations, and it worked out. The crowd ranged from young to old. There were a few handcarts, perhaps, and therefore a bit loud. But that didn't bother us much (we were eight people ourselves 😁) Great food, great service (thanks to the slim young lady!!). Everyone was more than satisfied with their food and drinks. Since we're in Augsburg several times a year, we'll definitely be coming here more often!

We were in Augsburg for the first time, found this restaurant, and had a very good meal. The service was prompt and friendly, and the food was really good for a place of its size. The only downside, and therefore a star deduction, was that we weren't informed about the business lunch, so the two of us paid more than the table of four next to us. Our menus didn't mention it either; there was probably a separate menu. It's a shame, because guests who arrived after us were specifically informed about it. Next time, we'll know and ask ourselves. 😉

On each of my visits to the inn, I've encountered very friendly and attentive staff. The food is also delicious, and the prices reflect the portions!

The staff was very friendly during our visit, but the cordon bleu here at the Wirtshaus unter dem Bogen didn't deserve its name. There was hardly any cheese and, apparently, no ham at all. The fried potatoes were a bit lackluster in appearance but tasted quite good. The ambiance was okay, but nothing special. Overall rating: 3.5/5

We were already here in the beer garden yesterday. Today, after a two-hour city tour, we were really thirsty for beer. When I placed my order at the pub, I was directed outside and told that someone would come and take my order. No one came! When I asked, I got a rude reply: "No serving outside today." The weather was great 👍🏼. Then we walked a few meters further and got our order right away. Unfortunately, I can't give it 0 stars... I've never encountered such unfriendly behavior. Absolutely unacceptable!

Bavarian cuisine galore. Very helpful staff and excellent service. I highly recommend this place if you're in Augsburg.

Friendly staff. The roast pork was dry, and the sauce and other ingredients tasted average. The seating was quite pleasant, but a second visit wasn't warranted, as the distorted food didn't encourage it.

We ordered the lunch menu and turned one portion of goulash into two. It only had one piece of meat and a lot of vegetables. It was a disgrace, and I told the waitress about it. There was no response.

We lived less than 50 meters from the restaurant, and it was always full. Even on Sundays, when the city center, where the restaurant is located, was closed. The staff was extremely friendly and prompt. The food and the selection were amazing; I almost couldn't decide. Typical Bavarian-Swabian cuisine, but very delicious, and there's plenty of choice for vegetarians too. A truly wonderful restaurant and a fantastic beer garden in Augsburg's old town.

We were looking for somewhere to eat in the evening and ended up at this restaurant. The service was very attentive and friendly, but for me personally, they were asking too often at the table if everything was OK. The food was ready relatively quickly and was good, but I didn't think it was anything special for the price.

Frosty welcome, not a smile, we wanted to reserve a table... we felt like we were intruding. Nothing important but we left disappointed because the restaurant seemed well rated.

The restaurant was recommended by our hotel, and the food and ambiance were great, although it was tinted by a subpar service. We went for an earlier dinner after a full day of sightseeing in Innsbruck, a marvelous town. Even though we didn't have a reservation, it was 5 pm, and the restaurant was empty everywhere with few people seated. The attendant said we would have to sit on the second floor, up to this point, no issues. There was no one there, and they pushed us to a corner table at the bar, we complained, but the waiter was borderline on being rude. We were hungry, so we decided to sit and eat. Food overall was good german style fare, tasty and fresh. On the other hand, I asked for a beer and my wife water, and the waiter became impatient. My beer came low, the glass was half liter, and it was below 450ml. I complained, and the waiter said it was as served per local law. Well, being a beer aficionado, I understand the foam rule in Germany, and it was well off. The waiter scoffed and went away. In the end, I paid with CC and had no way to remove the tip. How can a bad service team damage a restaurant reputation? You have your answer, bad waiters. When we left at 6pm, the place was still less than a third full.

The Swabian plate with pork fillet medallions, creamed mushrooms, and cheese spaetzle, and for dessert, chocolate mousse with berry compote and lemon honey. It was a poem and incredibly delicious. ❤️

I was with about 50 former classmates for the 35th high school reunion on the first floor. The atmosphere was fantastic and the service was amazing. The food was very good and the prices were fair! The organization in advance was friendly and uncomplicated! Many thanks to the team; it was a very enjoyable and long evening!

I would like to say, first of all that I like Germany very much . I lived here for a few years, so I know normally people give something for the staff. I normally give tip but for the waiters or waitress to come and tell you that you must give tip.....it is out of normality! Tip is something very personal, so Is up to people to give it or not! The food is not too bad here....the service a bit less.

Das Wirtshaus mit rustikalem und gemütlichem Ambiente befindet sich in guter zentraler Lage in einer Gasse in der Nähe des Marktplatzes. Wir haben hier zweimal abends gegessen und waren immer zufrieden. Die Speisen waren lecker und die Bedienungen sehr freundlich. Das Lokal wird meist stark frequentiert, eine Reservierung wird empfohlen. Das Preis- Leistungsverhältnis ist in Ordnung.

What can I say? Very good, home-style cooking. The dark beer sauce with the roast pork and dumplings is truly delicious. The prices are fair, and the portions are just as generous. The menu has everything a German heart desires, and you can basically eat anything without being disappointed!

We'd love to come back again and again! The "Wirtshaus unter dem Bogen" impresses with its warm atmosphere and friendly service, which is simply perfect. Whether after work or winding down at the weekend, you immediately feel welcome. The service is attentive and uncomplicated, without being intrusive. Added to that is the cozy, rustic decor beneath the typical Frankfurt arches, which immediately puts you in a good mood. The dishes are classically delicious (from schnitzel to a variety of handkäs (traditional German cheeses), and the beer selection perfectly matches the relaxed atmosphere. In conclusion: A real insider tip for anyone who appreciates authentic hospitality and homey pub culture. Highly recommended!🍻

The food is all right, but nothing to write home about! I know Germany very well and I speak German. What I think is not acceptable is the fact that the waitress dit tell us to give tip. I usually give tip in restaurants, but I GIVE TIP IF I LIKE IT and I do not need a waitress to tell me. There was no mention of service or tip in the menu.

Wir sind beim Jahresausflug unseres Kirchenchors nach Augsburg hier mit 35 Personen auf Vorbestellung eingekehrt. Alles hat hervorragend funktioniert: Die Abstimmung im Vorfeld, dann das Essen und vor allem der freundliche Service waren super. Für eine spontane Chorprobe (wir hatten danach einen Auftritt) durften wir auch einen der Säle im Obergeschoss benutzen - das ist alles andere als selbstverständlich. Herzlichen Dank - beim nächsten Besuch in der Fuggerstadt kommen wir wieder.

It's a shame that the delicious goulash soup is no longer on the menu! I opted for the business lunch. Salad or soup, main course, espresso, all for €13.90. The daily special was rigatoni with green asparagus and olives in cream sauce, salad. The salad dressing was unfortunately a ready-made product. The olives were just blackened. Pasta and asparagus weren't seasoned. There was very little cream sauce. The espresso was very tasty. I asked for a pepper mill, seasoned the pasta, and added salt. It was delicious! Good value for money. Very nice to sit outside in nice weather. Varied menu!

Lovely place in a nice shopping street in the heart of Augsburg. We were there for a typical bavarian breakfast: Weißwurst and Brezeln. The Weißwurst were very tasty and easy to peel off. The Brezeln were small but also tasty and with the right amount of salt on top. The service was not perfect as the waitress dropped our forks and knives loudly but ended up bringing us a new set from the kitchen. I would go back there when I am again in Augsburg.

A nice inn complex, very tastefully decorated and featuring great old photos of Augsburg. The food was delicious and the portions gigantic, and the service was super friendly. We had roast pork with dumplings and asparagus and potato casserole with grilled vegetables. The restrooms are a dream for a restaurant. We'd be happy to come back.

In mid-May, a group of almost 50 people, including children, visited the Blösl family at the Wirtshaus unter dem Bogen. We were able to reserve the large hall on the second floor in advance and select a small menu for our visit. Coordination and communication with the restaurant management were uncomplicated and very professional. The food was delicious, and despite the small menu, we were also able to order specials. The service staff was very attentive and competent. Many thanks to the friendly service staff and the friendly restaurant management for a wonderful evening. We would be happy to come back.

It used to be great, but now it tastes like convenience food :( Unfortunately, we can no longer agree with the praise of other guests. Until recently, it was a place where you could enjoy delicious food at reasonable prices. In fact, the restaurant was our favorite, and especially the cheese spaetzle and roast pork were a guarantee! It always tasted good! We went there again this week and were very disappointed! The cheese spaetzle now taste like store-bought spaetzle with (unfortunately not "tasty") cheese added, the fried onions were stale, and the mushroom cream sauce tasted like something you'd ripped open from a "packerl sauce." The three slices of roast pork and the sauce were okay, but one-third were made up of fat, and there were numerous two-centimeter-long hairs visible on the crust. The prices had gone up considerably, though. We're happy to pay a higher price if the food justifies it. Unfortunately, in our opinion, the ratio isn't right here. more. It's really sad, because we loved going here. I hope my review will at least save some people from disappointment. It's difficult to eat good, traditional food in Augsburg these days, as other long-established restaurants now also serve a lot of convenience food.

Man fühlt sich sofort wohl, sobald man das Restaurant betritt. Alle sind zuvorkommend und freundlich. Die Küche ist sehr vielfältig, das Getränkeangebot sehr umfangreich. Es ist alles typisch bayerisch und gleichzeitig fühlt man sich einem internationalen Publikum verpflichtet. Das ganze ist allerdings weit entfernt von einem touristischen Ambiente.

Since we were only here for the Bavarian breakfast, that's all we're reviewing. Freshly tapped, perfectly tempered Augustiner Helles, delicious white sausages, and a pretzel. Perfect! We'd be happy to go again. Thank you.

Here you'll find delicious beer and good food. The menu offers something for every taste. The prices are reasonable. The staff is always very friendly. The interior is cozy and clean, inviting you to linger. They also offer a business lunch at lunchtime, which is a great deal in terms of price. Yesterday, a group of 11 people visited the inn. In the rustic atmosphere, we didn't have to wait long to quench our thirst. The food was delicious. The menu was very extensive. The portions were more than adequate, and everything was reasonably priced. The service on the third floor was fantastic. Fast, attentive, and friendly. A visit to the inn under the arch is highly recommended.

Great sausage salad and phenomenal Kaiserschmarrn, which was super fluffy and caramelized. Once again – in 2025 – I ordered the Kaiserschmarrn,,, unfortunately, it wasn't that great. It was obviously made with semolina and no egg whites. It was very doughy, and even after ordering it, it was on the table in 2 minutes, which is a bit too fast for something freshly made.

Unfortunately the food is not very good, everything tastes like frozen food. The service is very stressed. The beer is of course good.
