Food was good, the price was ok - especially in the 50% time - service was poor and some dishes weren't available at all (e.g. vanilla ice cream).

I have to honestly say that I can't do anything with the food there. Anyone who rates this as good has never cooked themselves or is content with "mass eating". That's exactly how I would describe the food there...as slightly better canteen food...The food and the sauces are absolutely not seasoned...for my taste it's the worst run-of-the-mill food...The location is of course quite nice, But otherwise there are tons of better places/beer gardens... I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

Very cool location, I had imagined a bit more beer selection. Unfortunately there were only two of our own products. (Light and wheat) The food was okay - but I could have managed a whole knuckle. But that's probably too lavish for many people. Spinach dumplings were delicious.

Dining next to large beer brewing kettles in the former slaughterhouse building is something special. Food typically Bavarian very good. Great offer: eat certain dishes for half price every afternoon. Unfortunately, not everything is always in stock during the beer garden season. Service is friendly but sometimes it takes a long time to be served.

The calf hall is well known in Augsburg and so I was really looking forward to the visit, but it was more than disappointing. The food was nothing special. The meat was dry, unseasoned, the vegetables were completely oily. Completely carelessly done. There were 12 of us eating and two people completely forgot their food. Only after repeated requests and without an apology from the waitress did the food come. In general the service staff were very unfriendly. No thanks, no please. Unfortunately a very bad experience.

We were there for a major event. The ambience is good. The food okay. For the amount that had to go through here it was actually very good. The staff were really very professional and friendly, even though they were really under pressure.

Service didn't feel like working and referred the problem to his colleagues, the food was cold, the beer was warm... the answer to the waiter's comment was that he can't do anything now... 3 of 4 toilet cubicles were defective. 1 of 3 sinks were defective, although the others were not tight and the water ran over my shoes below the washbasin. All in all, not a good evening.

It was very hot there. The indoor area is not recommended in summer. We then ordered 3 dishes that were, firstly, overpriced and secondly, they were not as ordered. I don't serve a pulled pork burger with lettuce and tomatoes. That should have been on the menu and it was a mini portion for 15 euros.

Went there for breakfast as a company outing, the selection of dishes wasn't very large. And even these ran out very quickly. After 15 minutes of the buffet opening, there were no more pretzels and in the end there weren't even any rolls left, so the baguette had to be cut open. We ran out of white sausages and there weren't even any bowls for the muesli, so we had to pour it into coffee cups. Nevertheless the food was very good. A pity..... Let's see how dinner turns out. Edit: Dinner was ok. The salads are clearly out of the bucket. The vegetables from the freezer. For the pulled pork burger, the bun from the supermarket, the meat was at least similar to pulled pork. The wedges were simply boiled potatoes cut into pieces and even though 'wedges' technically counts as potatoes cut into pieces, I thought the general consensus was that they were fried potatoes. The salmon fillet was topped with broccoli cream sauce. And since this was also fried in the batter, I have no idea how that works, maybe freeze the fish beforehand? The gnocchi were not raw, but still very firm. But at least enough for everyone😄 Dessert: Apple strudel was good, but with raisins, but as we all know, that's where opinions differ. The Kaiserschmarrn tasted more like fluffy pancakes, without apple pieces!!!! But with applesauce from a jar. The Bavarian cream really tasted like it, but it was too runny and not cold enough. The red fruit jelly was more like a strawberry mirror. Annotation: Next time, please add a serving spoon to the dessert. Scooping from a hot plate with a teaspoon was a whole new experience. But the service staff were all very nice.

The ambience is really great, which makes it even more of a shame what has been made of it. Apart from the fact that my companion's food was served faster than our drinks, I had to wait 30 minutes for my own dish. I prefer eating together. The service is absolutely apathetic, no apology, not even a “bon appetit” or an inquiry as to whether everything is OK. In my opinion, the service staff are completely overwhelmed and can't cope even with a small crowd. In the end you could be happy if you were allowed to pay after asking several times. The cleanliness also leaves a lot to be desired. Many tables were not wiped, no napkins or cutlery (the few available were dirty) were replenished. No salt, no pepper. Our table was still decorated with dried leftover food (see picture). Really very unappetizing! We served ourselves at another table, where there was still some cutlery and napkins left. The beer “Zapfen” is apparently a work of art in a brewery that has not been mastered. The beer came well below the fill level! As I waited in vain for my food, I observed how the beer was being poured there. I didn't know that you pour beer from one glass to another because you can't handle a tap and the foam it produces. Before the beer reached the guest, it stood for a while so that the foam was no longer present and the beer tasted lacquer. Really sad to have to experience something like that in a brewery. When my food finally arrived, which I was then allowed to “enjoy” on my own, I realized that unfortunately it was only ready-made products that I had bought. Unfortunately, the hopeless wait wasn't worth it at all. It's really a shame what you do with such a great location. We definitely won't be coming back and wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone!

Sunday lunch with the family (8 adults and 4 children). Service was friendly, drinks and food came quickly! Unfortunately the food wasn't hot at all, the meat was very dry, unfortunately almost tough and the dumplings were very firm (not all fresh) We wanted to give the calf hall another chance, but we won't be coming back...

The ac was of and, had the weather not been bad it would have been impossible to stay inside for long but the food was good and service was ok.

The beer tastes fresh and good. If you come without a reservation, the chances of getting a table are high. The green salad doesn't really taste good, the sauerbraten meat is tough. The waitress took my plate before I finished eating. She saw if there was any food on my plate but took it anyway.

Great ambience, drinks took 45 minutes and the pre-ordered food took over an hour. We were registered and a maximum of 50% of the tables were occupied. Portions are very clear. The salad was missing from the Kässpatzle.

Unfortunately, the service was completely overwhelmed and very unfriendly - I would attribute the food to always being tried hard but not really able to - the beer garden is really nice, if the food were better, drinks were cold and the service was somewhat friendly then I would have been happy to come back.

We went there to watch football in the evening. The menu was reduced and there was no drinks menu at all. The first order was taken quickly and brought to the table quickly. The food was great. Unfortunately, from then on we were overlooked for reordering. We asked for more dessert which was refused. Afterwards we saw other desserts at the next table. I thought that was unfair. Upon insistence, we also received the other desserts. The speakers are ok for watching football, but not perfect (humming).

I was here about 9 years ago and I haven't been back here since. The onion roast was lukewarm and the Kässpätzle hardly had any cheese. Since the old review was deleted due to “defamation”, I now had to repost it.

Were there for Germany's European Championship game. Pure catastrophe - picture from the TV stopped every 5 seconds, no signal, then briefly there again, picture stopped, sound stopped. Technology sometimes fails, that's how it is. But NOBODY simply cared that it wasn't running properly. Just don't come here to watch the European Championships. There was very little food and the quality wasn't great. Waitress prefers to go smoke at halftime rather than get drinks, when everyone has 15 minutes to do so. Simply a disaster, job not understood by everyone involved.

The ambience and service are really good. Clinker brick building and a pleasant beer garden invite you to linger. Parking spaces can be found directly in front of the house in the slaughterhouse. Unfortunately, the taste of the food is very varied. The Swiss sausage salad could also come from the plastic packaging. The mountain cheese in it has the same taste as tofu. The sausage is good but not very lovingly prepared and the quantity is below average for a Bavarian beer garden. The Obazda, on the other hand, can be recommended at any time. Tasty and pleasant. Unfortunately there is no pretzel with it, just the normal sliced ​​bread. This bread can only be used as a filling material. The taste is average, like from a discounter. The mixed roast platter (duck leg, roast pork...) was good. Great gravy which we ordered again due to the quantity on the plate. Dumplings were good and so was red cabbage. 3 stars is my overall result for the calf hall - there is still room for improvement 👍🏻 Unfortunately after the public viewing I have to go further down. Service is poor, very expensive for little and little taste.

Watch the European Championship game in a different way. Static picture, sound much too loud with dropouts, public viewing set six. The only positive thing was that by half time half the viewing area was empty... Why? The service seemed to have said goodbye at half time, first and last time here

We wanted to watch the Germany game against Hungary because we saw the advertisement for public viewing on Instagram. Unfortunately, the broadcast didn't work at all, you basically didn't see anything of the game! We also waited 40 minutes for our beer, which we probably wouldn't have received until after the game had we not asked. If you're advertising an event like this, you should make sure that the broadcast is running... Food looks very good, but we didn't dare order because of the long waiting time. No thank you!

A large hall and a large biergarten. This is a brewery, fresh beer in several variants, I recommend kellerbier. Food, typical German cuisine. Very tasty duck.

We had something to do nearby and had to wait. We bridged the waiting time with lunch in the calf hall. As it turned out, that was a very good decision. Very nice location. Unfortunately there were very few and overwhelmed staff, the service was nice, but they were often no longer visible in the entire location for over half an hour. Food and service were ok. But the toilets were the worst I've seen in years. Sink in rotten wood. Toilet seat is either completely missing or broken. Urine edges on all seats. Partitions made of old dark wood that I didn't want to touch. The struts of the partition walls are completely rusted. All in all just disgusting. How can something like this get through an inspection by the health department? An absolute no-go these days. I won't eat there again. Who knows what the kitchen looks like?

Asparagus was already out at 12.30, turkey schnitzel was careless with fried potatoes on the plate, and my Kaiserschmarrn didn't look particularly inviting either. We won't be going back anytime soon

Were in the beer garden. Service was largely good, but the espresso with ice cream ball was delivered late, ice melted, coffee cold. Drink prices are consistently too high, beer or non-alcoholic 0.5L €5.50, that's Augsburg's top. Normally it's around €4. Food not convincing. Maybe I expected something different. Bauerngröstel: the scraps of meat were dry chunks of indefinable meat, the fried dumplings were still ok, the whole thing was swimming in brown sauce...; mixed salad very fresh and excellent. Overall mixed impression.

My darling had ordered half a duck with red cabbage and dumplings and I felt like fries, I got a baby portion of fries for a whopping EUR 3.90 😬🧐 the duck was lukewarm, poorly seasoned and the skin wasn't crispy either - everything was ok everything “Never again” 🙄

I ordered a Kaiserschmarrn that was dry, hard, old and warmed up. The waiter wasn't interested in my complaint.

We had dinner there on Saturday lunchtime. For the first and last time. Had an asparagus cream soup and a potato soup for €7.50 each. An absolute disgrace. The soup originally tasted like nothing except thickened water. I've actually never experienced anything like this anywhere. The Swiss sausage salad that we had with the main course for €11.50 each was a small starter with half a slice of cheese. The dried slice was also served with the bread.

Pure bad food. Simply pure use of leftovers. No go!

I ordered bread dumplings with mushroom cream sauce and unfortunately I have to say that I have never eaten such old, hard, crusty bread dumplings. The mushroom cream sauce was tasty, but it was miles away from a cream sauce - very watery and probably no cream in it.

The restaurant is huge and spacious. Service is slow due to lack of service staff. Food was served promptly but the quality was disappointing. Prices were reasonable as a 50% off for selected main courses.

Roast crust was good and a lot. The small mixed salad was unfortunately inedible with the dark sauce. We'll be back but leave out the salad :D

The name Kälberhalle should be taken literally. It's a big hall with lots of tables. You have a direct view of the brewery's tanks. The food is typical of a brewery restaurant. The taste of the dishes is based on Swabian cuisine. At lunchtime there are cheap daily specials with soup of the day. The selection of drinks allows even larger groups to celebrate extensively.

The ambience of the rustically furnished beer production facility is sophisticated, but that's all!! Food and service very poor. The food I wanted was not in stock, soup from the factory, suckling pig with red cabbage, the worst food I have eaten in a long time (only partially eaten). Service careless and unfriendly. Beer prices overpriced I can't recommend it!!

The food is simply subterranean. Schnitzel not seasoned or crispy, Cordon Bleu cheese set inside and not runny, crusty roast dry and potato dumplings firm and hard. As a local, you don't actually come here voluntarily, only if you have no other choice. The waiter was very nice and on the ball (which isn't always the case) but the taste and quality of the food has nothing to do with eating out deliciously. The prices are also extremely high for the quality you get. 18 euros for pork cordon bleu with fries? Wow, even the lunch price where you get a 50% discount is very little consolation. Actually only for hungry foreign tourists/senior travel groups who have never been here before and don't know what to expect. Just as we were leaving, the first coach pulled into the parking lot and the first seniors made a pilgrimage towards the beer garden. There is 1 star for the location, the waiter and the cold beer.

We were in the calf hall today and wanted to eat at half price, the offer is valid from 3 p.m. and we were there at that time. We went to the calf hall specifically for this reason. The Maultaschen are simply ready-made Maultaschen. I'm shocked that something like this exists in a restaurant. I definitely won't go there again.

There were four of us there. 3 had a crusty roast. The dumplings were hard and lukewarm. The two slices of meat were tough, not biteable, and only lukewarm. The sauce was warm, a little bit. Unfortunately, the red cabbage is only warm and tastes good. And for all three of them, the three plates were returned half-eaten. No matter, even if the price was cheap, it wasn't worth it... the fourth person ordered schnitzel with a side dish, the wrong side dish came, tasted good... that was our first visit, not recommended

The price-performance ratio is right. Service could be friendlier.

World's best Kaiserschmarrn Cool location

I was there for lunch today with my mother and grandparents. We ordered pork schnitzel with cheese spaetzle and 3 times crusty roast with dumplings and red cabbage. The food was cold and the meat was very tough. The cheese spaetzle were normal spaetzle. The food and drink we wanted was not available. I can't recommend it.
