The location itself is beautiful. The restaurant is also beautifully decorated. The service was friendly and quick, although I must say it wasn't very busy on a Friday evening when we visited. The food was tasty, but unfortunately, it wasn't even lukewarm. I had a Bavarian Himmelglück (a dish of heaven) that was served in a pan—a very good idea. But if the pan is ice-cold and the food is served in it, it can't be warm either, because no chef can serve it that hot. And there's nothing worse than having to dip a lukewarm dumpling into cold sauce. I always find it a shame when the simplest rules of "hot dishes on hot plates, cold dishes on cold plates" are no longer followed at such great locations.

We were in the calf hall with a group today. First, I have to mention the friendly waitress. Very friendly, even though the terrace was open and several tables were occupied given the weather, she kept coming back and asking if we needed anything. The food came quickly, including roast pork, breaded turkey schnitzel, cheese spaetzle, plain turkey schnitzel, and a side salad. The portions were smaller than on previous visits. But everything is getting more expensive... We'll be back.

Unfortunately our visit was not as enjoyable as we had hoped. Our visit took place on a Sunday at 5 p.m. and as soon as we entered the restaurant we were not greeted at the entrance or were almost ignored, even though there was hardly any activity and the floor was very dirty, which didn't leave a good first impression. The selection of dishes was very limited, as the majority of the dishes on the menu were sold out (pork schnitzel, spaetzle, duck, fried potatoes, etc.). The hint that I could simply order cheese spaetzle instead of spaetzle gave me the impression that nothing was made fresh here, because in the worst case scenario, spaetzle would actually have been made again quickly. But if Kässpätzle are still available, it's actually only because the food has been prepared for a long time and most likely bought. Unfortunately, most of the food we got was warm and not hot. Particularly disappointing were the fries, which were partly old and partly fresh, and the dumplings, which were more like the size of a golf ball. The staff was friendly, but seemed slightly disinterested and we didn't get much feedback on our criticism of the food. All in all, the visit was not very commendable and we would definitely not come back.

Disappointing visit in a beautiful location! We were in the calf hall on a Saturday at 4 p.m. The building and the atmosphere are really impressive, but unfortunately the positive ends there. Although only five tables were occupied in the huge hall, the service was poor. We were ignored for a long time and only served after what felt like an eternity. The beer we ordered was already tapped at the bar, but was not brought to the table. Before it was finally served, the waitress frothed it with a fork - an absolute no-go, especially in a brewery restaurant. The food also took a long time to arrive and the service was consistently inattentive. The highlight was the sanitary facilities, which were more reminiscent of a train station toilet than a well-kept inn. The food was OK but nothing special. Overall a disappointing visit - we won't be returning.

We discovered this restaurant because of its quiet location and beautiful terrace where you can sit and enjoy a delicious, cold beer in summer. But as time went on, we came back more and more often because of the very friendly staff, the fast service and the delicious, simple dishes. Compared to other beer restaurants where it's too crowded, the staff is stressed and overloaded with their tasks, and the food leaves something to be desired, this restaurant wins with a hundred stars⭐️. We are very happy to have found such a place and will come back again and again. For a simple dinner and relaxation, you couldn't ask for a greater indulgence.

Simply the absolute blast, a Viennese-style turkey schnitzel with potato salad for 9.90 euros, a 0.5 liter beer for 3.90 euros, apple strudel as dessert for under 4 euros, the service was super friendly, what more could you want. It was also tasty and the portion was absolutely sufficient. So it's also possible to offer quality food for under 10 euros. This makes you want to stop by more often, which is better economically for the restaurateur than asking prices of over 20 euros and only seeing the guest rarely or not at all. I can only recommend it to everyone and please be patient, if the meal takes a while then that's no problem, as a guest you are neither on the run nor in a canteen and perhaps one or the other can use the time to talk to people at the table and give their cell phone a break...

We were there for the Green event around Annalena Baerbock. That's why I can't say anything about the food and service. But both looked very good. Otherwise nice location with the heart in the right place.

I was there with my girlfriend on Valentine's Day. The service was excellent and very attentive. The table was romantically decorated and the food was delicious. The menu selection is diverse.

The visit and the meal were very satisfying and delicious! I was there with a wheelchair, but the toilet doesn't work that way! First, someone wrapped their child in it and disposed of this waste in the toilet without flushing! The changing table was very annoying, consisting of 2 tables, not foldable and is somewhere else in the anteroom of the women's toilet!!! Please change - thanks for everyone else!!

Superb New Year's Eve in a beautiful setting with an excellent meal

I've been there several times and after my second bad experience, I would now like to leave a review. Both times I was here were on a Sunday afternoon. The food was okay. The time before last it wasn't particularly warm, last time it was better. Unfortunately the gravy on the roast pork was the same sauce as the duck gravy advertised in the menu. My companions had the quarter duck and a turkey schnitzel. For the second time in a row there was no currywurst. For the quarter duck, it didn't say anywhere that dumplings had to be ordered separately. The menu named duck with sauce, red cabbage and 2 dumplings. Unfortunately there was no red cabbage left. The worst experience, however, was the waiter: Summary: - unfriendly - long waiting time - stroppy - inattentive The good gentleman wasn't even remotely motivated to be there for his guests. Not only did he seem hopelessly overwhelmed, he was also absolutely unfriendly! If you read it straight away: be ashamed of yourself for acting like that! He emphasized that he was not happy with the calf hall itself, that everything was going badly and he complained that the guests always told him when something wasn't right. So everyone: If this model waiter has his way, go straight to the kitchen and complain! The good news for everyone who still wants to experience the calf hall: According to information, the waiter's last day is December 31, 2024. I hope I don't have to meet him again in other restaurants in Augsburg. I don't like it when I'm not even allowed to finish and he starts yelling at his guests. In this sense. You'd better look for something else.

We made a reservation and showed up on time, but unfortunately there was no one there to welcome us, so we waited for 5 minutes, clearly visible at the entrance. The two families who came after us and just sat down were served immediately. After another 15 minutes we left. So I have no idea what the food tastes like. I can't rate it.

Our visit to the calf hall in Augsburg with over 30 people, including children, was a complete success! Right from the planning stage, the Kälberhalle team did everything they could to ensure that our evening ran smoothly. The organization was excellent and we were seated directly at a large, comfortable area that had enough space for our group. The food was excellent - a great mix of Bavarian classics and modern dishes, so there was really something for every taste. What was particularly commendable was the speed and quality with which all the food was served, even for our large group. The children were also well looked after and had the opportunity to choose from a suitable selection of dishes. The service was outstanding - friendly, attentive and always with a smile. The staff responded to all requests, whether it was extra requests for the children or additional drinks for the adults. The warm atmosphere thrilled us all and ensured that both adults and children felt completely at home. The Kälberhalle is the perfect place for larger groups and family celebrations. The mix of great food, first-class service and a relaxed atmosphere makes this restaurant an absolute recommendation. We'll definitely be back!

The Kälberhalle restaurant really impressed me! The food is absolutely first class - the dishes are excellently prepared and taste great. I was particularly excited about the fact that there are also vegan options such as a vegan schnitzel, which not only taste good but are also served in an appropriate portion size. The ambience in the calf hall is unique: the mixture of rustic charm and modern flair creates a cozy and at the same time special atmosphere in which you immediately feel at home. It's really a great place to start a nice evening with friends before moving on. The only small disadvantage is the location - it's not ideal if you want to go directly to the city center. Nevertheless, the restaurant is definitely worth a visit, especially at the start of a relaxed evening.

Risotto "with roasted pumpkin seeds" came without pumpkin seeds. Service was subpar, the table next to us (same group) got the second round of drinks before our first (ordered at the same time). The bill was €6 too high and there was no receipt. Unfortunately, I only did the math at home.

The service is incompetent and unfriendly. Not at all prepared for vegans or lactose intolerant people, although every good restaurant should have this on their radar these days. I understand that on my last visit it was busy and the menu was therefore reduced (there were several graduation parties taking place). I saw in advance on the homepage that at least one vegan schnitzel is usually offered. When I asked about vegan options when ordering, I was offered the Kässpatzen. When I said Kässpatzen were not vegan, they were offered to me again. I gave up and opted for a sad side salad - “but please with oil and vinegar dressing.” Finally I got a salad with yogurt dressing. Great. Thank you for the stomachache. I'm never coming back. By the way, it's not the first time I've noticed that the service is rather careless...

Was there for the first time at the weekend. I actually just wanted to drink something but then decided to take the veal patties and I didn't regret it. Really tasty, lots of meat, little bread, delicious sauce. Today I was there again and took the lunch special with main courses for half price, Viennese style pork schnitzel with potato salad. Super tasty fried schnitzel with fluffy breading. Potato salad wasn't really my thing. It was too cold for me and a bit blandly seasoned, but that's a matter of taste. As a Swabian, I am very sensitive about this anyway. Service staff very nice and attentive. Location very nice. Large beer garden in front of the house. Restaurant looks great inside and out, but all of this is shaded by a poor service that is provided. It’s not pointed directly towards waiters but the fact they are understaffed which results in long waiting times even though the restaurant was only 30% full. Food is generally good, only thing I would recommend passing is the duck since the one I got was overcooked and dry. After dinner we ordered espressos and waited 15min to get them, and when going for payment of the bill it was another 15min since apparently only our waiter could give us the bill. All in all a great setting but lacks a good restaurant manager present on site to coordinate the staff.

Super nice location, great ambience. The staff tries hard, nothing more. The food looks delicious, tastes rather average. Meatballs not cooked through, no cranberries with the Wiener Schnitzel. The clown ice cream for children, where the Smarties are the most important thing, were missing - they were out - as was the Kaiserschmarrn... The apple strudel is more of a frozen product... And that on a public holiday. Unfortunately the toilets were unclean and partly broken. It's a shame, we expected more.

The three of us were there on Sunday shortly before 3 p.m., the restaurant was almost empty and filled up very quickly. An incredibly beautiful location, with a lot of potential but that was about it on the positive side. The toilets are very dark and smell of old urine, like a train station toilet. Admittedly, we were there with a very large group. However, we had already been registered for months and it was clear how much of the 3 pre-ordered meals we would need... (there are always absences due to illness) When we arrived around 3 p.m. in the afternoon, we got our drinks pretty quickly. Unfortunately, from that point on nothing worked anymore. Actually, it would be so easy as a large restaurateur to serve large groups if you follow a few simple rules... At 4 p.m. the waiters began bringing the food, starting at one end of the hall. But unfortunately not everyone could eat because there wasn't enough cutlery on the tables, which is simply unbelievably sloppy for a group that had pre-registered. They kept going through the same rows one after the other and none of the waiters was able to carry more than two plates... Even on the large tablets that were sometimes used there were only two plates... It was definitely not the number of staff... There were plenty of them, but totally unstructured and overwhelmed. It would be easier if you assigned rows to each waiter... What irritated me was that every waiter kept starting at the first table with his plate and asking who wanted to eat what... This could be regulated very easily with colored chips or cards, then you don't have to ask and you can see at first glance what is still missing on which table. Sometimes the people at the tables ate alone because there was only one meal available. The rest of the table watched and hoped that they might get something at some point. A dish like Käsespätzle often came last and was already cold. The portion was more than small. The best thing was the waitress who ran all over the hall with two plates of cheese spaetzle and despite shouting, waving and eye contact, didn't react. She preferred to take the plates back to the kitchen and not show up at all. We sat at the other end of the hall, opposite the kitchen, and had our food 50 minutes after the first people, who had already left the hall before we even ate. We scarfed down our food so we could catch our buses. CONCLUSION: Wanted, but couldn't! If you want to hold a nice celebration with satisfied guests, you should avoid this location. Save your money and go somewhere else.... I don't want to imagine how such a service can completely ruin a wedding or birthday party...

If you want to spend a relaxed Bavarian evening in a cozy atmosphere, this is the wrong place. It's outrageous that a wedding is accompanied by loud Halli Galli and music so loud (92dB) that conversation is impossible. At least that should be said before ordering. In addition, four dishes on the menu are already out at half past six on Saturday evening. Stay away if you don't want to have a party. Max leaves permanently with his ears covered. First impression was good, great location. However, very loud. The waiter who served us seemed very stressed and overwhelmed. The tone towards the guest was underground. And he didn't say this in a humorous way, but in a harsh, commanding tone! At the table next to our friends, he said that he hoped they weren't as strenuous as we were. That's really cheeky. Some of the food wasn't even warm anymore, it was just carelessly placed on the plate. Some toilets were broken and there was dirt that wasn't created just two days ago. It's a shame, we won't be coming to this restaurant again.

My favourite place to drink Dunkelweizen beer. The food is Bavarian and truly delicious.

I saw plates around me that were almost full and not being eaten. Schnitzel, currywurst. But my husband was happy with his sausage salad. My wine spritzer consisted almost entirely of water. But after my complaint I received a more substantial one. The ambience is really nice.

Very cozy guest garden. Friendly and attentive service. Good wheat beer from Hasenbräu. Fries were okay.

Food was really tasty and decent portions.

Company event last Sunday (250 people). Hardly any staff in the area, drinks routinely delivered incorrectly, 30-45 minute wait for one of the 5 cocktails on the event menu (if you ever found someone to order from, orders at the bar were not allowed), and mixed with no-name rum in a plastic cup. For €10.50. The food was OK, but the service was really subpar.
