I always pick up the food here. Very tasty... It's too loud in the "hall". The duck with red cabbage, dumplings and sauce for Christmas is particularly brilliant! I can also highly recommend the beer garden

Too big, too loud, like a train station hall. The food is plentiful, but not of the best quality, rather mass-produced. We didn't really like it. What is absolutely not recommended is the coffee there, no matter what it is. It is terribly bitter, as if the machine urgently needs cleaning. The service was very friendly.

Terrible dishes!! How can you praise that? There were 8 of us there and almost all of us were dissatisfied, more precisely 6 found the food catastrophic, for 2 it was just OK. No taste, small(er) portions and not warm. It was already an imposition. We were there for the first and certainly the last time. In addition, the toilets were dirty and the interior was too cold for a stay. Overall, just the bottom drawer. Not recommended!!

The food did not meet my expectations. The sauce and the mashed potatoes were bland, some of the meatballs were still raw or not cooked through. What is positive, however, is that the service staff gave me a discount and a cup of coffee because of my criticism of the food. I'll still come back because there are small mistakes. can happen again.

Superb New Year's Eve in a beautiful setting with an excellent meal

I've been there several times and after my second bad experience, I would now like to leave a review. Both times I was here were on a Sunday afternoon. The food was okay. The time before last it wasn't particularly warm, last time it was better. Unfortunately the gravy on the roast pork was the same sauce as the duck gravy advertised in the menu. My companions had the quarter duck and a turkey schnitzel. For the second time in a row there was no currywurst. For the quarter duck, it didn't say anywhere that dumplings had to be ordered separately. The menu named duck with sauce, red cabbage and 2 dumplings. Unfortunately there was no red cabbage left. The worst experience, however, was the waiter: Summary: - unfriendly - long waiting time - stroppy - inattentive The good gentleman wasn't even remotely motivated to be there for his guests. Not only did he seem hopelessly overwhelmed, he was also absolutely unfriendly! If you read it straight away: be ashamed of yourself for acting like that! He emphasized that he was not happy with the calf hall itself, that everything was going badly and he complained that the guests always told him when something wasn't right. So everyone: If this model waiter has his way, go straight to the kitchen and complain! The good news for everyone who still wants to experience the calf hall: According to information, the waiter's last day is December 31, 2024. I hope I don't have to meet him again in other restaurants in Augsburg. I don't like it when I'm not even allowed to finish and he starts yelling at his guests. In this sense. You'd better look for something else.

We made a reservation and showed up on time, but unfortunately there was no one there to welcome us, so we waited for 5 minutes, clearly visible at the entrance. When no one came, we sat down at the table to possibly be served there, unfortunately without success. The older waitress with dark hair preferred chatting with colleagues rather than paying attention to his guests. After a good 15 minutes we just left.

We arrived 5 minutes before our reservation and then stood in the entrance area for a good 5 minutes. Several waiters and waitresses saw us and ignored us. We then simply chose a place and continued to wait until someone came to us. Again we are seen and ignored several times. 3 employees are busy “decorating” tables. The two families who came after us and just sat down were served immediately. After another 15 minutes we left. So I have no idea what the food tastes like. I can't rate it.

If there are a lot of people there, you will simply be overlooked and left behind. The food tasted like it came from a can and was cold for being left sitting for at least 45 minutes!

The quality decreases from year to year. It's a shame actually. Years ago it was one of our favorite restaurants, but now it's just a mass restaurant with hardly any quality or service.

Unfortunately, the ambience is the only thing worth it there. The service was rather unmotivated. I was rather disappointed with the food. Even though it was just a soup, I thought the days of ready-made broth in the catering industry were over.

Sorry, I've rarely eaten so badly, half a knuckle of meat had almost nothing left on it, the little bit was fried and the bread dumplings were perhaps OK for a Prussian but a shame for a Bavarian. I didn't get the cabbage at all 🙈😫never again

The Kälberhalle restaurant really impressed me! The food is absolutely first class - the dishes are excellently prepared and taste great. I was particularly excited about the fact that there are also vegan options such as a vegan schnitzel, which not only taste good but are also served in an appropriate portion size. The ambience in the calf hall is unique: the mixture of rustic charm and modern flair creates a cozy and at the same time special atmosphere in which you immediately feel at home. It's really a great place to start a nice evening with friends before moving on. The only small disadvantage is the location - it's not ideal if you want to go directly to the city center. Nevertheless, the restaurant is definitely worth a visit, especially at the start of a relaxed evening.

Our visit to the calf hall in Augsburg with over 30 people, including children, was a complete success! Right from the planning stage, the Kälberhalle team did everything they could to ensure that our evening ran smoothly. The organization was excellent and we were seated directly at a large, comfortable area that had enough space for our group. The food was excellent - a great mix of Bavarian classics and modern dishes, so there was really something for every taste. What was particularly commendable was the speed and quality with which all the food was served, even for our large group. The children were also well looked after and had the opportunity to choose from a suitable selection of dishes. The service was outstanding - friendly, attentive and always with a smile. The staff responded to all requests, whether it was extra requests for the children or additional drinks for the adults. The warm atmosphere thrilled us all and ensured that both adults and children felt completely at home. The Kälberhalle is the perfect place for larger groups and family celebrations. The mix of great food, first-class service and a relaxed atmosphere makes this restaurant an absolute recommendation. We'll definitely be back!

Very loud and mass processing. Had the crusty roast, tasted ok, quickly cooled and the meat was dry.

Risotto "with roasted pumpkin seeds" came without pumpkin seeds. Service was subpar, the table next to us (same group) got the second round of drinks before our first (ordered at the same time). It went on like this the whole evening, with the waiter only making up the front 1-2 tables, the rest were sitting on the dry side, all of them empty glasses. The bill was €6 too high and there was no receipt. Unfortunately, I only did the math at home.

Unmotivated service, TK pollock, radio broadcasting is very annoying. It's a shame about the great building.

Came with a lot of expectations and left with abysmal frustration. -Onion roast arrived like an old shoe (ordered medium) waiting time 30 minutes -Sufficient service staff. No worries about the customers or any lack of attention (repeated calls and reports necessary) - Roast sent to the kitchen (according to the waiter it's quick) but still a 20 minute wait - Arrives and you can hardly believe it - again - The wonderful radio music and the occasional traffic jam reports round the whole thing off. Definitely not a recommendation!

If you want to experience a real German beer factory, this is your best choice. There is a wide selection of beers, especially dark beers. The waiter was very warm and friendly, my group made a reservation but was two hours late due to the traffic jam, I will come here again.

The food was very bad. Absolutely average! My knuckle should be in Be caraway sauce, with no taste or grains of caraway. There was too little sauce and the waiting time was too long at 45 minutes, while others at the neighboring table had their food 10 minutes after ordering. The toilets are dirty (ladies and gentlemen), some of them are broken (others have already commented) and that on a Wednesday when there was almost nothing going on. Some parents don't know the difference between a kindergarten and a restaurant; it was loud there because the children were running around.

The food is not really recommended, I had a "crispy" duck that was anything but crispy, and the taste also left a lot to be desired. I won't go there again.

Very nice atmosphere, unfortunately too few service staff and sometimes unmotivated service. When eating, the meat (crusted roast, half a knuckle) and the sauerkraut were very good. Unfortunately, the dumplings (rolls and potato pancakes) are less so. Likewise, the red cabbage and the sauces weren't great. The sanitary facilities were also not clean, despite there being little activity. Overall, a maximum of "ok", which is a shame given the great atmosphere.

Good authentic restaurant with good food

Free parking at ground level is suitable for strollers and wheelchairs. The entrance is hidden at the back of the building. Very friendly service staff. Were there for lunch. Ambience very appealing. The brewing kettles are illuminated.

The service is incompetent and unfriendly. Not at all prepared for vegans or lactose intolerant people, although every good restaurant should have this on their radar these days. I understand that on my last visit it was busy and the menu was therefore reduced (there were several graduation parties taking place). I saw in advance on the homepage that at least one vegan schnitzel is usually offered. When I asked about vegan options when ordering, I was offered the Kässpatzen. When I said Kässpatzen were not vegan, they were offered to me again. I gave up and opted for a sad side salad - “but please with oil and vinegar dressing.” Finally I got a salad with yogurt dressing. Great. Thank you for the stomachache. I'm never coming back. By the way, it's not the first time I've noticed that the service is rather careless...

Was there for the first time at the weekend. I actually just wanted to drink something but then decided to take the veal patties and I didn't regret it. Really tasty, lots of meat, little bread, delicious sauce. Today I was there again and took the lunch special with main courses for half price, Viennese style pork schnitzel with potato salad. Super tasty fried schnitzel with fluffy breading. Potato salad wasn't really my thing. It was too cold for me and a bit blandly seasoned, but that's a matter of taste. As a Swabian, I am very sensitive about this anyway. Service staff very nice and attentive. Location very nice. Large beer garden in front of the house. I'll definitely come back when I'm in Augsburg

Restaurant looks great inside and out, but all of this is shaded by a poor service that is provided. It’s not pointed directly towards waiters but the fact they are understaffed which results in long waiting times even though the restaurant was only 30% full. Food is generally good, only thing I would recommend passing is the duck since the one I got was overcooked and dry. After dinner we ordered espressos and waited 15min to get them, and when going for payment of the bill it was another 15min since apparently only our waiter could give us the bill. All in all a great setting but lacks a good restaurant manager present on site to coordinate the staff.

Super nice location, great ambience. The staff tries hard, nothing more. The food looks delicious, tastes rather average. Meatballs not cooked through, no cranberries with the Wiener Schnitzel. The clown ice cream for children, where the Smarties are the most important thing, were missing - they were out - as was the Kaiserschmarrn... The apple strudel is more of a frozen product... And that on a public holiday. Unfortunately the toilets were unclean and partly broken. It's a shame, we expected more.

First of all the positives, there are plenty of parking spaces and the inn is very nice. Now my experiences there. The three of us were there on Sunday shortly before 3 p.m., the restaurant was almost empty and filled up very quickly. We read in the menu that the main courses from 3 p.m. to 4.30 p.m. cost half as much. Then the waiter came and explained to us that most of the main courses were no longer in stock. Well, we still found Swabian plates and large dishes. So roasted potatoes. Ok, the kässpätzle on the Swabian plate were ok. The pork fillet was hard to say, it was relatively firm and the potatoes had fatty meat hidden at the bottom, which I don't really think belongs in, maybe it's a matter of taste, I like ned.Thick fat crust but now it would be half the price, but I'd rather pay more and eat well. It should also be mentioned that shortly after 4 p.m. the food that was supposedly no longer available was suddenly served to other guests. Duck and Co. Of course I asked the waiter about it when I was paying and he said it's available again now. Conclusion half the price, but it wasn't worth more, staff very friendly, special requests, we had to do it ourselves. Repetition. Definitely not on Sunday, but probably not. Visually ok but the pictures say nothing about the quality

If you want to spend a relaxed Bavarian evening in a cozy atmosphere, this is the wrong place. It's outrageous that a wedding is accompanied by loud Halli Galli and music so loud (92dB) that conversation is impossible. At least that should be said before ordering. In addition, four dishes on the menu are already out at half past six on Saturday evening. Stay away if you don't want to have a party. Max leaves permanently with his ears covered. A one timer with no need for repetition.

An incredibly beautiful location, with a lot of potential but that was about it on the positive side. The toilets are very dark and smell of old urine, like a train station toilet. Admittedly, we were there with a very large group. However, we had already been registered for months and it was clear how much of the 3 pre-ordered meals we would need... (there are always absences due to illness) When we arrived around 3 p.m. in the afternoon, we got our drinks pretty quickly. Unfortunately, from that point on nothing worked anymore. Actually, it would be so easy as a large restaurateur to serve large groups if you follow a few simple rules... At 4 p.m. the waiters began bringing the food, starting at one end of the hall. But unfortunately not everyone could eat because there wasn't enough cutlery on the tables, which is simply unbelievably sloppy for a group that had pre-registered. They kept going through the same rows one after the other and none of the waiters was able to carry more than two plates... Even on the large tablets that were sometimes used there were only two plates... It was definitely not the number of staff... There were plenty of them, but totally unstructured and overwhelmed. It would be easier if you assigned rows to each waiter... What irritated me was that every waiter kept starting at the first table with his plate and asking who wanted to eat what... This could be regulated very easily with colored chips or cards, then you don't have to ask and you can see at first glance what is still missing on which table. Sometimes the people at the tables ate alone because there was only one meal available. The rest of the table watched and hoped that they might get something at some point. A dish like Käsespätzle often came last and was already cold. The portion was more than small. The best thing was the waitress who ran all over the hall with two plates of cheese spaetzle and despite shouting, waving and eye contact, didn't react. She preferred to take the plates back to the kitchen and not show up at all. We sat at the other end of the hall, opposite the kitchen, and had our food 50 minutes after the first people, who had already left the hall before we even ate. We scarfed down our food so we could catch our buses. CONCLUSION: Wanted, but couldn't! If you want to hold a nice celebration with satisfied guests, you should avoid this location. Save your money and go somewhere else.... I don't want to imagine how such a service can completely ruin a wedding or birthday party...

The cordonbleu doesn't taste good, the waiter can't remember 2 cola and the Coca-Cola tastes like cheap cola doesn't work at all. The ambience is good

The service is very friendly and helpful. The location is really nice but loud. The food was okay. Maybe you have to go there without a large group, then maybe it's better, there's still room for improvement. But overall it was good.

First impression was good, great location. However, very loud. The waiter who served us seemed very stressed and overwhelmed. The tone towards the guest was underground. When asked if the supplement could be changed, he took 3 steps backwards, crossed his hands over his head and said: Quote: "You are tiring" end quote. He said we should concentrate when ordering. And he didn't say this in a humorous way, but in a harsh, commanding tone! At the table next to our friends, he said that he hoped they weren't as strenuous as we were. That's really cheeky. Some of the food wasn't even warm anymore, it was just carelessly placed on the plate. Some toilets were broken and there was dirt that wasn't created just two days ago. It's a shame, we won't be coming to this restaurant again.

I saw plates around me that were almost full and not being eaten. Schnitzel, currywurst. But my husband was happy with his sausage salad. My wine spritzer consisted almost entirely of water. But after my complaint I received a more substantial one. The ambience is really nice.

My favourite place to drink Dunkelweizen beer. The food is Bavarian and truly delicious.

Company event last Sunday (250 people). Hardly any staff in the area, drinks routinely delivered incorrectly, 30-45 minute wait for one of the 5 cocktails on the event menu (if you ever found someone to order from, orders at the bar were not allowed), and mixed with no-name rum in a plastic cup. For €10.50. The food was OK, but the service was really subpar.

Food was good, the price was ok - especially in the 50% time - service was poor and some dishes weren't available at all (e.g. vanilla ice cream).

I have to honestly say that I can't do anything with the food there. Anyone who rates this as good has never cooked themselves or is content with "mass eating". That's exactly how I would describe the food there...as slightly better canteen food...The food and the sauces are absolutely not seasoned...for my taste it's the worst run-of-the-mill food...The location is of course quite nice, But otherwise there are tons of better places/beer gardens... I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

Very cool location, I had imagined a bit more beer selection. Unfortunately there were only two of our own products. (Light and wheat) The food was okay - but I could have managed a whole knuckle. But that's probably too lavish for many people. Spinach dumplings were delicious.

The calf hall is well known in Augsburg and so I was really looking forward to the visit, but it was more than disappointing. The food was nothing special. The meat was dry, unseasoned, the vegetables were completely oily. Completely carelessly done. There were 12 of us eating and two people completely forgot their food. Only after repeated requests and without an apology from the waitress did the food come. In general the service staff were very unfriendly. No thanks, no please. Unfortunately a very bad experience.

Dining next to large beer brewing kettles in the former slaughterhouse building is something special. Food typically Bavarian very good. Great offer: eat certain dishes for half price every afternoon. Unfortunately, not everything is always in stock during the beer garden season. Service is friendly but sometimes it takes a long time to be served.

We were there for a major event. The ambience is good. The food okay. For the amount that had to go through here it was actually very good. The staff were really very professional and friendly, even though they were really under pressure.

Service didn't feel like working and referred the problem to his colleagues, the food was cold, the beer was warm... the answer to the waiter's comment was that he can't do anything now... 3 of 4 toilet cubicles were defective. 1 of 3 sinks were defective, although the others were not tight and the water ran over my shoes below the washbasin. All in all, not a good evening.

It was very hot there. The indoor area is not recommended in summer. We then ordered 3 dishes that were, firstly, overpriced and secondly, they were not as ordered. I don't serve a pulled pork burger with lettuce and tomatoes. That should have been on the menu and it was a mini portion for 15 euros.

Went there for breakfast as a company outing, the selection of dishes wasn't very large. And even these ran out very quickly. After 15 minutes of the buffet opening, there were no more pretzels and in the end there weren't even any rolls left, so the baguette had to be cut open. We ran out of white sausages and there weren't even any bowls for the muesli, so we had to pour it into coffee cups. Nevertheless the food was very good. A pity..... Let's see how dinner turns out. Edit: Dinner was ok. The salads are clearly out of the bucket. The vegetables from the freezer. For the pulled pork burger, the bun from the supermarket, the meat was at least similar to pulled pork. The wedges were simply boiled potatoes cut into pieces and even though 'wedges' technically counts as potatoes cut into pieces, I thought the general consensus was that they were fried potatoes. The salmon fillet was topped with broccoli cream sauce. And since this was also fried in the batter, I have no idea how that works, maybe freeze the fish beforehand? The gnocchi were not raw, but still very firm. But at least enough for everyone😄 Dessert: Apple strudel was good, but with raisins, but as we all know, that's where opinions differ. The Kaiserschmarrn tasted more like fluffy pancakes, without apple pieces!!!! But with applesauce from a jar. The Bavarian cream really tasted like it, but it was too runny and not cold enough. The red fruit jelly was more like a strawberry mirror. Annotation: Next time, please add a serving spoon to the dessert. Scooping from a hot plate with a teaspoon was a whole new experience. But the service staff were all very nice.

The ambience is really great, which makes it even more of a shame what has been made of it. Apart from the fact that my companion's food was served faster than our drinks, I had to wait 30 minutes for my own dish. I prefer eating together. The service is absolutely apathetic, no apology, not even a “bon appetit” or an inquiry as to whether everything is OK. In my opinion, the service staff are completely overwhelmed and can't cope even with a small crowd. In the end you could be happy if you were allowed to pay after asking several times. The cleanliness also leaves a lot to be desired. Many tables were not wiped, no napkins or cutlery (the few available were dirty) were replenished. No salt, no pepper. Our table was still decorated with dried leftover food (see picture). Really very unappetizing! We served ourselves at another table, where there was still some cutlery and napkins left. The beer “Zapfen” is apparently a work of art in a brewery that has not been mastered. The beer came well below the fill level! As I waited in vain for my food, I observed how the beer was being poured there. I didn't know that you pour beer from one glass to another because you can't handle a tap and the foam it produces. Before the beer reached the guest, it stood for a while so that the foam was no longer present and the beer tasted lacquer. Really sad to have to experience something like that in a brewery. When my food finally arrived, which I was then allowed to “enjoy” on my own, I realized that unfortunately it was only ready-made products that I had bought. Unfortunately, the hopeless wait wasn't worth it at all. It's really a shame what you do with such a great location. We definitely won't be coming back and wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone!

Sunday lunch with the family (8 adults and 4 children). Service was friendly, drinks and food came quickly! Unfortunately the food wasn't hot at all, the meat was very dry, unfortunately almost tough and the dumplings were very firm (not all fresh) We wanted to give the calf hall another chance, but we won't be coming back...

The ac was of and, had the weather not been bad it would have been impossible to stay inside for long but the food was good and service was ok.

The beer tastes fresh and good. If you come without a reservation, the chances of getting a table are high. The green salad doesn't really taste good, the sauerbraten meat is tough. The waitress took my plate before I finished eating. She saw if there was any food on my plate but took it anyway.

Great ambience, drinks took 45 minutes and the pre-ordered food took over an hour. We were registered and a maximum of 50% of the tables were occupied. Portions are very clear. The salad was missing from the Kässpatzle.

I was here about 9 years ago and I haven't been back here since. The onion roast was lukewarm and the Kässpätzle hardly had any cheese. Since the old review was deleted due to “defamation”, I now had to repost it.
