The location and ambiance are great, the food tastes good (8/10), and the staff is very friendly. Unfortunately, the food takes a long time, and you feel ignored. Better to have one or two well-trained employees than ten who seem insecure, are afraid of their eyes, and are already confused when you ask how long it will be or whether you can order.

Finally some real Italian cuisine again, tastes fresh and super delicious 😋

Update August 2025 We strongly recommend checking your receipt for accuracy. We ordered a spirit and asked for it to be garnished with an ice cube and a small lemon slice. The small lemon slice was charged €1.50 each. This procedure is simply wonderful. We don't want to judge whether this is legitimate or not. Whether it's pure rip-off of the guests is within our power to judge. So, check your consumption! The manager didn't think it was necessary to investigate the matter after a complaint to the service. Although only four tables were occupied (including us), he chose to ignore us. Therefore, it's unnecessary to have a manager in the establishment who is just there. We'll gladly stay away in the future so as not to create any more work for the gentleman.

Everything was great, the acoustics were a bit loud but that's normal for such large rooms.

The location right on the harbor is beautiful and creates a great atmosphere – especially on the terrace, you almost feel like you're on vacation. The service was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was lively yet pleasant. The quality of the food was very good: fresh ingredients, delicious pizza, and appetizers. One small point that could be improved is the pasta dishes – they could be a bit more varied. Otherwise, everything was really great, and we felt very comfortable. In conclusion: A lovely restaurant with delicious food and a great atmosphere that we would happily recommend and will definitely visit again.

Four of us on a Saturday evening with a reservation. Bread and dips beforehand. Very appetizing and delicious. The main courses (pasta with beef fillet/pasta with scampi) weren't good. One dish was missing the white wine sauce, and the fillet dish was swimming in fat. The extremely friendly waiter reported the criticism to the kitchen and apparently received the response that white wine was expensive. What?! The pizzas were okay. The panna cotta was ancient and downright chunky instead of creamy. At this point, a shout-out to the management: you have a fantastic, motivated team! Create the conditions for them to serve their guests the way they would surely like to be served. Saving money is great, but please not at the expense of quality. Thanks again to the waiter! He was the highlight of the evening ❤️

Next time we'll eat somewhere else and only have drinks outside here because of the lovely atmosphere by the harbor.

We visited the restaurant for the first time, but unfortunately, our impressions were marred by a few details. The dishes were served in an unusual order – dessert first, followed by the main course, which was also served on a chipped plate. This unfortunately didn't leave a particularly thorough impression. The dishes were rather mediocre in terms of taste – nothing that made a special impression or would make you want to return. On the positive side, the friendly staff and the pleasant atmosphere are worth mentioning. The summer terrace would have been even more cozy with quiet, unobtrusive music in the background. Conclusion: A lovely place to sit and relax, but the culinary offerings clearly leave room for improvement.

A few years ago, we were overlooked for two hours at Purino. We thought we'd give the place another chance. No luck. We were disappointed again. Things were quick this time, but: The first dish came out wrong. The pizza, however, was remade without any problems. Hence, 1 point. The second pasta dish was cooked far too long. The egg noodles were so mushy that they fell apart on the fork. The third ravioli dish was a disappointment in terms of taste. The ravioli was hard, and the filling tasted like a 5-. But given the prices, that was to be expected. We were served a dish with a broken plate. An absolute no-go. The waiter didn't come back after serving. It took 30 minutes for us to flag him down – and even then, it took another 5 minutes. Conclusion: we won't be back. We won't recommend the place either. Still, a nice location for Gelsenkirchen. That gets another point.

Saturday evening, the sun is shining, the place is busy but not packed, and the kitchen is completely overwhelmed. There are five of us, and the meals arrived over a period of 25 minutes. The first ones were long gone, then the last ones trickled in after 1.5 hours. The pasta was so al dente that it tasted bland and stuck to my teeth. The salmon was black on one side and was covered with a triple portion of Parmesan, even though I didn't order it because I don't like Parmesan. The pizza bases were so hard that they were almost impossible to cut. A fork would bend in the process. The restaurant manager was sympathetic, invited us all to dinner, and even gave us a meal voucher. We'll give Purino another chance. UPDATE 07/20/2025 Our last visit to Purino was a complete disaster – but this time around, things were about to change. The restaurant manager even recognized us and, together with a young employee, took extremely good care of us. The result: We were completely satisfied, had a lovely evening with delicious food, a pleasant atmosphere, and extremely attentive service. We'll be back soon... :-)

The food, in my case pasta with prawns, was very tasty. The pasta was not overcooked, just slightly al dente. The service was very friendly and unobtrusive.

I rarely say it, but everything here was perfect! Food, service, view, everything! If we lived here, we'd definitely come more often.

Never again! The acoustics are overwhelming as soon as you enter the store – terribly loud and very uncomfortable. The ambiance is nonexistent, similar to a rest stop. Orders are slow. Starters are cleared away without question because the main course is coming. No requests for drinks. Half of the dessert was missing. The service was attentive, but completely overwhelmed, drinks forgotten, etc. When we asked about the poor service, we were told that an employee had simply gone home and she was now missing. The restrooms are abysmal! No soap, toilet paper all over the floor. McD's is almost more comfortable and cleaner in comparison. A shame. But definitely never again. Note: As compensation, we were given a round of drinks free of charge. At least something.

We made a reservation for 7 p.m. When we arrived on time, the waiter showed us to the table. My husband went to the waitress around 7:30 p.m. and told her we wanted to order. No one came by 8 p.m., and we left. We waited an hour for someone to at least bring us a menu and something to drink, but no one came.

We had a reservation and were seated as requested. The staff was very friendly and helpful. However, we waited an hour for our food, and overall, everything took a very long time. Out of 10 waiters, maybe two or three could take orders, which was very unfortunate, and we were constantly waiting. The ambiance and the location by the harbor were great.

Very unfriendly service! Even more unfriendly was the manager, or whoever he was. 🙄 The table was only wiped from right to left after 5 repeated requests... I had to add that the table was still not clean! Not pet-friendly!! They supposedly have a water bowl, but they don't know where the bowl is! The food was inedible and just slapped down! Wrong order, the pizza wasn't toppings as requested! I can't recommend it!!!

We were there on Friday, July 4, 2025, at 5:00 PM to have something delicious to eat before our concert at the Gelsenkirchen Amphitheater. After a rather sober welcome, we were able to choose a free table. After we were seated and were already surprised that several tables hadn't been cleared yet, we thought it would take a while today. After waiting 10 minutes, the waiter told us, "I'll be right over." After another 20 minutes of waiting, at least another waiter took our drinks. When the drinks finally arrived at our table after another 20 minutes, we immediately ordered our food from the waiter who had charmingly kept us waiting for over 40 minutes earlier. Another round of drinks was also ordered, and they arrived quite quickly along with the appetizers. Unfortunately, we then witnessed the waiter who had taken our first round of drinks greeting two or three groups of girls, who then, after we were still waiting for our main courses, received their food. We were simply forgotten by the kitchen. It was almost 7:00 PM by then!!! No food for two hours!!! After asking several times, we were told that our food was probably in the oven. We were really exhausted by this point because we wanted to go to the concert. The nice female waitress, who unfortunately can't do anything about her truly abysmal colleagues, then treated us to drinks "on the house." We only had to pay for the appetizers. We then left for the concert with half-empty stomachs. Actually, it's a nice place where we've been before, but they never see us again.

The noodles were mixed up, my friend's dish came without cutlery, and she had to wait until I got mine. Only after we pointed this out to the server was her plate taken away. The food arrived much too late. The noodles were hard and bland. A no-go for the price. When we wanted to pay, we had to wait an additional 30 minutes. The waiters seemed completely overwhelmed. Overall, unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend it – it looks great, but the service and quality of the food disappointed us.

This is completely unreasonable for a restaurant, especially when there was no obvious reason, such as a full house. The service was inattentive, and unfortunately, it seemed as if we had simply been forgotten. The long wait overshadowed the entire experience – we will definitely not be returning and unfortunately cannot recommend the restaurant.

We celebrated our son's baptism at Purino. From the beginning of the ceremony to the end, everything was perfect. The staff were super friendly and accommodating. The on-site organization was excellent. We were able to customize everything (including the decorations) the way we wanted. The food was delicious and arrived quickly, whether it was pasta or pizza. Many thanks also to Philipp for his great support and planning. We will definitely recommend the restaurant!

The food is very tasty, although not Michelin-starred, which of course isn't what you'd expect here. All the meals arrived at the same time (14 people), were hot, and all very tasty. The ambiance is recommended for groups as well as families. Personally, I wouldn't eat here as a couple, as it's not exclusive enough. Nevertheless, I absolutely recommend it.

Unfortunately, we didn't like it at all. Neither the pizza nor the pasta dish. There are far better restaurants in Gelsenkirchen for the same price-performance ratio.

We were there for the first time on June 21, 2025, and we were absolutely thrilled. The ambiance, not just the Stölting Harbor, but also the restaurant's interior and large outdoor area are very attractively designed. Everything is freshly prepared there, and the kitchen, counter, and ingredients are all open to view. The service was very friendly and open. Drinks came quickly, and sugar-free sodas were also available. The selection of appetizers was also good; we had creams with freshly baked bread, which were refilled. A very extensive menu, everything your heart desires. I had a bowl with cauliflower risotto and chicken. My husband had homemade ravioli with truffles. To finish, we had an espresso, which was also hot, although unfortunately, we've often only gotten lukewarm ones at other restaurants. Completely satisfied, and we'll definitely go again. It's best to make a reservation, otherwise they might be fully booked. 10 stars 🌟

Purino, a service desert. We were there for dinner. The waiter greeted us with the words "I'm fed up" and rested his head on our table while taking our order. The drinks were brought and served with his hand on the glass, refreshingly. I wanted to take the leftovers of my (very delicious) meal to go. When I asked for them to be packed, the waiter (a different one from the first one) threw all the cutlery next to the leftovers on my plate, and THE USED NAPKIN ON TOP OF IT! I wouldn't have been surprised if he had packed it too. The waiter (who had greeted us so warmly at the beginning) was meanwhile leisurely eating a popsicle while collecting the menus from the tables, then wiped his hands on his pants and took the money. When we went to pay, we started chatting. In addition to making completely inappropriate remarks about our appearance, he casually mentioned that he also sells vapes. The restrooms are so dirty that you'd think twice about waiting; hygiene has never been seen in this place. It still gets two stars for the really good quality of the food and drinks, and the restaurant's location is also top-notch! We'll definitely give the other restaurants at Gelsenkirchen Harbor a try next time we visit; this restaurant is a prime example of how poor service can ruin the overall experience – regardless of the shortage of skilled workers.

We visited this place for the second time, and I have to say it’s a restaurant with fantastic food. Today I had the Strisce di manzo — it was absolutely amazing. We also had the Pollo e sesamo salad, which was equally delicious. The staff is friendly and helpful — we highly recommend this place. In my opinion, it’s the best restaurant in Gelsenkirchen at the moment.

If you simply want good food without demanding great refinement, this is the place to go.

This was my second time at Purino in Gelsenkirchen, and I have to admit, I didn't really like it. I ordered pasta with chicken breast strips and curry. It was a mere five small chicken breast strips. The fusilli was overcooked and covered in excessive curry. The panna cota for dessert was a complete sugar bomb; you could feel nothing but sugar in your mouth. I also noticed that only young people work there, which isn't a bad thing. But especially in the restaurant industry and in the kitchen, it would be a good idea to hire a few experienced people.

There are also nice places in Gelsenkirchen, and the GE Hafen is one of them. The price is a bit expensive, but still fair. (Cappuccino + a VERY good vegan pasta = €20). They also offer oils for seasoning your own dishes. The food here is really good. A very relaxed atmosphere. It's worth stopping by :)

The interior is also beautifully done, but also a bit worn. In my opinion, the food isn't worth the price, and unfortunately, for Italian food, it's only worth one star. The pizzas, at most, had their own dough, but everything else was just cheap toppings. We know a better Italian restaurant in Gelsenkirchen that we've been going to for years. The service is super friendly, but unfortunately, when we complained about the pizza not tasting good, they responded with just one. I'll happily pass it on 🤔

Nice place, the food is good but it never blew me away. On the other hand, the service I have noticed negatively on several occasions. They are generally really nice, but the management seems to be catastrophic. The peak was a really warm summer day when, according to the server, only one person was working outside. He was completely overwhelmed; everyone had to wait forever to order, lots of people went inside to pay, and many were totally annoyed. When there was no tip because of the poor conditions, the server was immediately pissed off. The management here really needs to improve; they are obviously making massive cost cuts.

We ordered pizza and pasta, wanted wine but didn't get around to it, didn't want to order all at once when we had already eaten half of it because when we handed out the dishes we wouldn't be asked about it and the waiter left quickly even though the shop was pretty empty, we didn't want to call after him. The pasta was definitely not with cherry tomatoes but with meat tomatoes that were diced small? The prawns were of completely different sizes, as if there were 2 types. Several waiters brought food to other tables, but when we tried to order we were told several times that another colleague was responsible for our area. However, this took a long time to come. Despite repeated requests, there was no quick service. After waiting around 30 minutes, during which we were put off several times, we finally decided to just pay for the drinks and leave the restaurant. We had actually planned to eat there, but were unfortunately disappointed with the service. The location has potential - but there is an urgent need for improvement in the service.

We ate here for the first time. The menu reads great, and the food was generally delicious. Unfortunately, ingredients were forgotten in 2 out of 4 dishes - once on the grounds that the ingredient wasn't there. However, this is only possible upon request. A little note when serving would have been nice. When it came to pasta, the noodles were unfortunately quite overcooked. Overall, we also noticed at other tables that the food there was not complete or was returned because something was wrong. The service was very friendly, but the orders including drinks took a long time to arrive. In my opinion, one person taking orders and making payments is not enough for the number of tables. Even in a good restaurant, mistakes sometimes happen, but dealing with them is important. We would have liked to have been accommodated after we had raised the issues. For example, coffee on the house or a small discount on the bill.

Unfortunately, customer satisfaction is undesirable here and is therefore absolutely not recommended! The bowl we ordered did not contain all the ingredients described on the menu. They accepted my complaint and informed me that the beans had run out. The waitress asked me if I still wanted that bowl or if I wanted to order something else. I chose a pizza. Both dishes were on the bill because I supposedly ate almost all of the bowl, which was an insinuation. I had not received any notice of this in advance. Besides the good location, your food is just bad. Pizza Festa tastes like vomited cheese. Never again.

The quality of the food was satisfactory. The service, on the other hand, was superficial and didn't make us feel welcome. Despite reservations, my group and seven other people were left waiting at the entrance. The staff repeatedly passed the queue with dishes or dirty glasses without apologizing. After about 15 minutes we were called to our table instead of being shown. Another 15 minutes passed before we were asked about our drink and food preferences. The drinks came quickly, but the starters only came after another 20 minutes and the main course after another 30 minutes. After that there was no more service to be seen and the plates and empty glasses just stood there until payment was made. From the last bite to the bill it took 35 minutes during which we were completely ignored. The neighboring tables had a similar fate. The friendly lady couldn't help it, but seemed completely overwhelmed. When we complained at the end, they simply pointed out that it was a so-called “rehearsal dinner” and that there was therefore a small number of people. Meanwhile, the “manager” in charge was talking to a group of men (employees?). He was busy with these instead of helping the rest of the staff. I've never experienced anything like this before. There is an urgent need to work on personnel management and dealing with customers. However, we will not visit this restaurant again.

The food is always really good. Occasionally, they skimp on the salt a bit. However, there's plenty of salt on the tables for seasoning. Unfortunately, last time we had to wait a long time for our food. Usually, though, the wait isn't a problem. It's nice that they take celiac disease into account and indicate this on the menu. I like the ambiance, but it still has some room for improvement. The service at the table was really friendly and attentive. The only downside is the wait for the food. Otherwise, a really great "go-to" restaurant 👍

We planned and reserved a small birthday (2 birthday children) and asked for a quiet place by the window. On site they didn't know anything about the reservation, didn't apologize, sat friends of the waitress in front of us at the last quiet table for four that the other waiter was trying to set up for us and then sat us in the children's corner - problematic because one person in our group is hard of hearing and has problems with hearing aids in noisy surroundings. It's a shame, but we won't come here again.

Very loud, lots of mumbling. Food was very tasty. Service was quick and friendly.
