A very nice restaurant with a great atmosphere. The food is delicious and the service is absolutely top-notch. I've been there several times now and always enjoy going back.

We had dinner at Purino with our family on Christmas Day. Everything tasted excellent. Once again! The service was outstanding. Many thanks to the whole team for an unforgettable Christmas dinner.

The food and location are very nice. The music is a bit loud, but you get used to it. It's child-friendly in that children under 6 eat and drink for free, which is a plus. However, the children's playroom is really run-down. The toys are dirty and very old. I almost wanted to bring our own old toys. Everything is very dusty (partly from chalk), but it looks like it hasn't been cleaned in a long time. It would be enough to replace the carpet, provide decent storage boxes (instead of old, warped laundry baskets), and use some clean (perhaps second-hand) toys, because the existing plastic ones are really discolored. I didn't feel comfortable at all. It didn't look welcoming, unlike the dining area, which looks quite modern. The armchair in the changing room also doesn't look inviting, and the bin was broken. These are the kinds of small investments Purino could make to reflect a modern, cozy style throughout the entire place. Best regards

There was a great selection and the food was absolutely delicious. The waiters were incredibly friendly and the whole visit was a real pleasure. Parking in the back costs €1.50 per hour. Free street parking is also available.

The food was "okay"... unfortunately, the knives in our entire group were so dull that we had to eat with our hands, which somewhat dampened our appetites. The waiters were very forgetful, but otherwise friendly. The location and surroundings were very nice.

The food was fantastic. They even catered to our special requests with great care. One thing is a bit tricky there. Since you're not allowed to drive into the neighborhood after a certain time (only residents are permitted), you're quickly forced to leave. It's a shame, unfortunately. And there's nothing Purino can do about it, either.

It was a lovely visit with a good atmosphere. There's a wide selection on the menu, even for those with gluten intolerance – even pasta 🍜. The food was great – no discomfort afterwards or anything like that. Conclusion: I'll be back.

We were there with friends. Very good bruschetta. Very good lemonade. But the pasta was overcooked.

⭐️ Not recommended – very disappointing We were at the restaurant with two adults and three small children (under three years old) and unfortunately cannot recommend it at all. We waited a total of 1.5 hours for our food – even though we only ordered two simple pasta dishes and Margherita pizza for the children. Even the drinks didn't arrive until about 45 minutes later, and only after asking three times. The waiter apologized repeatedly and said he wasn't actually responsible for our section – very unprofessional. The play area is old, neglected, and practically unusable. There were no toys, but there were clearly legible swear words written on the wall. Our children had to play with their own things. When we dropped a glass, we were handed a broom and dustpan instead of the staff taking care of it – as is customary in other restaurants. The food itself was also disappointing: it didn't taste good, and there was an additional charge of €4.50 for two tiny pieces of chicken breast. For us, it was a complete disaster – we definitely won't be coming back.

Fantastic restaurant! The portions were more than generous and everything was absolutely delicious. Especially the garlic oil. Thank you so much for the little bottle of oil I gave us as a gift; I was thrilled. All in all, everything was top-notch and we'll definitely be going there again.

The service was fantastic. I've never experienced such dedication and heartfelt service. The commitment, advice, and recommendations were all 100% spot on. They also regularly checked in on me, very friendly, absolutely unique. Their expertise with the products on offer was also superb. The food was amazing, delicious, and beautifully presented. The lemonades were sensational; I highly recommend the strawberry vanilla. The ambiance was lovely and inviting. It was quite noisy during peak hours, which is to be expected when there are a lot of people. I'm just a bit sensitive to noise. Nevertheless, I highly recommend them. I will definitely be back.

We went to PURino last Saturday on a recommendation. The food was delicious, and the price was perfectly reasonable. The service was very friendly, but could have been a bit more attentive. We were seated at a table that hadn't been cleaned yet. Our first impression was marred by the many children running around the restaurant among the other guests, even though there's a great children's play area. As parents, we wouldn't have allowed our children to do that. I would have appreciated it if the staff had spoken to the parents about it. We'd gladly come again!

We had reserved for 6 people. When we arrived, no table was prepared. Well, we got one. They showed us a second table. But the newly vacated table wasn't very inviting. Old food leftovers were lying on the floor and weren't removed. Taking our orders seemed to take forever. The serving took even longer. The food was overall OK. The pasta dishes are recommended. Unfortunately, one dish was brought to the table incorrectly. A replacement followed, but the others had already finished their meals. The second drink order took even longer than the first, so we weren't charged for it. All in all, there's plenty of room for improvement.

The ambiance is very nice and cozy. The acoustics are also good for conversation. The food is reasonably priced. Unfortunately, the service (during my visit) was quite inattentive. We had to wait 25 minutes for our drinks order. Likewise, in a restaurant, you never go to the kitchen or dishwashing station without clearing something. We sat for a long time with our empty plates and glasses. If this is optimized, the restaurant will certainly enjoy increased profits, and the guests will receive excellent service. All in all, it was a pleasant evening.

Went there with my mother from Hamburg because it's around the corner. You're left standing helplessly at the entrance because there's a sign there. You wait here, you're assigned a table. Nobody comes at first. You look around the corner to see if someone notices you. The drinks were brought to your table and after an hour we asked where the food was, adding that if the food wasn't on the table in 5 minutes we would leave. We were given a 3-minute wait, which was then not kept. The food was pretty cold. Strange for something that had just been freshly prepared. The portion of ravioli was small on a huge plate and not even al dente. Not again. 44 euros for 2 dishes with a drink each. We won't be going there again.

We were regulars at Purino a year and a half ago and were always impressed. The ambiance is truly great, and the hot meals were reasonably priced. Now we've decided to visit our old favorite again, and this time we were unfortunately rather disappointed... The hot chocolate was brought to our table cold and tasted more like water than hot chocolate, very disappointing. The new staff at the restaurant also has some shortcomings. Sincerely,

Absolutely outrageous! We drove there from another city, and they told us the kitchen had already closed because they had switched to winter time. According to their own statements, they were open for over an hour. Even after pointing this out, they just said they would have only been open for another five minutes. After this outrage, we will definitely not go there again. We are now at a real Italian restaurant in Gelsenkirchen called "Trulli" with absolutely delicious Italian food! Bad luck, Purino! You're surprised... Full marks in all areas, yet only a total of 3... If everything is basically great, but your colleague accidentally (of course) gets a whole jar of spices poured down her neck by the waitress, ... Then I expect more than an apology and an offer to cover the cleaning costs ☝️ if you can't clean it yourself. At least a drink, dessert, or generously, a voucher for the next visit. But nothing!!! That's indecent. I think so!!!

Beautiful Italian restaurant right on the harbor. In the summer, you can sit outside by the water. So far, I've only had pasta, but it was very good. One thing that really deserves special mention here is the children's play area. It's rarely seen in restaurants, but it's a life-changer. We all know that children are impatient and don't like waiting. This is a great way for them to pass the time, absolutely fantastic 👍🏼

We were a group of five visiting Gelsenkirchen and received very friendly and helpful service. The food arrived quickly and tasted delicious. The frutti di mare pasta was very generously loaded with seafood, red onions, and cherry tomatoes. The portions were more than generous, and we were all satisfied. I highly recommend this restaurant!

They were sold out of an iced tea. The wait for the bill was 20 minutes. We went there because they have gluten-free options and it's right by the harbor.

The location and ambiance are great, the food tastes good (8/10), and the staff is very friendly. Unfortunately, the food takes a long time, and you feel ignored. Better to have one or two well-trained employees than ten who seem insecure, are afraid of their eyes, and are already confused when you ask how long it will be or whether you can order.

Update August 2025 We strongly recommend checking your receipt for accuracy. We ordered a spirit and asked for it to be garnished with an ice cube and a small lemon slice. The small lemon slice was charged €1.50 each. This procedure is simply wonderful. We don't want to judge whether this is legitimate or not. Whether it's pure rip-off of the guests is within our power to judge. So, check your consumption! The manager didn't think it was necessary to investigate the matter after a complaint to the service. Although only four tables were occupied (including us), he chose to ignore us. Therefore, it's unnecessary to have a manager in the establishment who is just there. We'll gladly stay away in the future so as not to create any more work for the gentleman.

Four of us on a Saturday evening with a reservation. Bread and dips beforehand. Very appetizing and delicious. The main courses (pasta with beef fillet/pasta with scampi) weren't good. One dish was missing the white wine sauce, and the fillet dish was swimming in fat. The extremely friendly waiter reported the criticism to the kitchen and apparently received the response that white wine was expensive. What?! The pizzas were okay. The panna cotta was ancient and downright chunky instead of creamy. At this point, a shout-out to the management: you have a fantastic, motivated team! Create the conditions for them to serve their guests the way they would surely like to be served. Saving money is great, but please not at the expense of quality. Thanks again to the waiter! He was the highlight of the evening ❤️

It's truly a wonderful experience at Purino. The location right on the harbor is beautiful, and both the ambiance and the interior are appealing and cozy. The food, especially the pasta dishes, is a true delight. The staff is always friendly and accommodating, which makes the stay even more pleasant.

Unfortunately, this time was very disappointing! Extremely unfriendly service!! Pasta was overcooked, there was not enough sauce, and the food was poorly presented. Even on my return visit, the food didn't impress me. Pizza with only a few toppings and a very dry and much too wide crust... very long wait times. However, the service was very friendly this time. Next time we'll eat somewhere else and only have drinks outside here because of the lovely atmosphere by the harbor.

We visited the restaurant for the first time, but unfortunately, our impressions were marred by a few details. The dishes were served in an unusual order – dessert first, followed by the main course, which was also served on a chipped plate. This unfortunately didn't leave a particularly thorough impression. The dishes were rather mediocre in terms of taste – nothing that made a special impression or would make you want to return. On the positive side, the friendly staff and the pleasant atmosphere are worth mentioning. The summer terrace would have been even more cozy with quiet, unobtrusive music in the background. Conclusion: A lovely place to sit and relax, but the culinary offerings clearly leave room for improvement.

A few years ago, we were overlooked for two hours at Purino. We thought we'd give the place another chance. No luck. We were disappointed again. Things were quick this time, but: The first dish came out wrong. The pizza, however, was remade without any problems. Hence, 1 point. The second pasta dish was cooked far too long. The egg noodles were so mushy that they fell apart on the fork. The third ravioli dish was a disappointment in terms of taste. The ravioli was hard, and the filling tasted like a 5-. But given the prices, that was to be expected. We were served a dish with a broken plate. An absolute no-go. The waiter didn't come back after serving. It took 30 minutes for us to flag him down – and even then, it took another 5 minutes. Conclusion: we won't be back. We won't recommend the place either. Still, a nice location for Gelsenkirchen. That gets another point.

Saturday evening, the sun is shining, the place is busy but not packed, and the kitchen is completely overwhelmed. There are five of us, and the meals arrived over a period of 25 minutes. The first ones were long gone, then the last ones trickled in after 1.5 hours. The pasta was so al dente that it tasted bland and stuck to my teeth. The salmon was black on one side and was covered with a triple portion of Parmesan, even though I didn't order it because I don't like Parmesan. The pizza bases were so hard that they were almost impossible to cut. A fork would bend in the process. The restaurant manager was sympathetic, invited us all to dinner, and even gave us a meal voucher. We'll give Purino another chance. UPDATE 07/20/2025 Our last visit to Purino was a complete disaster – but this time around, things were about to change. The restaurant manager even recognized us and, together with a young employee, took extremely good care of us. The result: We were completely satisfied, had a lovely evening with delicious food, a pleasant atmosphere, and extremely attentive service. We'll be back soon... :-)
