Grande Italia bei Carlo in Gelsenkirchen

We were there on New Year's Eve... It goes without saying that the store is full and the staff have a lot to do. But the fact that the staff were basically at each other's throats and were very annoyed was not normal, very disturbing restless. To eat...my meat (grilled plate) was fried to death and I had the feeling I was chewing on the sole of my shoe. My wife's meal...the salmon wasn't more than okay either. The widely advertised “champagne sauce” tasted like nothing and so did my pepper sauce. The fried potatoes ran out of salt and the bill was therefore much too high. We were looking forward to a special evening, but when the answer to my complaint was "Oh strange," we just wanted to get out of the store. It's a shame because that was the first and last time...because I arrived hungry and left hungry.

Vitello Tonato spoiled, spaghetti with seafood, without seafood. Waited 2.5 hours for food. That's it.

We wanted to reserve a table and tried several times by phone with no response. We also wrote about the website, but there was no response here either. So we decided to just stop by straight away. When we arrived the restaurant was half empty, which of course could mean the tables were reserved. But first we stood there for a good five minutes without any reception. The boss had his back to us and completely ignored us. Only after a while did a nice waitress come and politely ask us if we had made a reservation. I explained the whole situation to her. The waitress was understanding and said that reservations are generally necessary, which I completely understand. When I politely asked if there was room for two people, she wanted to offer us a table until the boss or manager came into play. His behavior was absolutely rude and inappropriate. He started complaining like we were the problem. If my wife hadn't been there, I would certainly have reacted differently. So it remained this unpleasant impression that I would like to share here. I understand when there's a lot going on and you're stressed. But with his attitude, this boss belongs more on a farm than in the restaurant industry. Luckily we later visited another Italian restaurant, Ristorante La Tambola, where we received a warm welcome and were able to enjoy the evening. I certainly won't recommend Grande Restaurant.

December 2024: 4 stars: The highlight is bruschetta as a starter and tiramisu as dessert, simply heavenly! We were there today with 4 people. We actually really enjoy going to Grande Italia. But today that was nothing. It started when my sister-in-law and her husband arrived first. The restaurant is large and there weren't many guests there. We were placed next to a group of 6 people. Completely incomprehensible to me and my companions. We ordered drinks, but unfortunately the Frizzantino I ordered was stale. After I mentioned this I was given a new glass. We picked out our food and placed the order. I chose a beef fillet steak, my husband and brother-in-law pork fillet and my sister-in-law stuffed pork fillet rolls. From the eye, the three dishes my companions looked great When my steak was served I thought that couldn't be the case. It was never 200g Maximum 150g. But worst of all “it was a tail”. As far as I am informed, the end piece is never served to the guest, as it is used for sliced ​​meat. I was really angry. I cut it. The meat was well done instead of medium. Of course, there was also an end piece which is always thinner on the sides The middle was very slightly pink. My sister-in-law had chanterelles in her sauce, which were totally watery and bitter. I know that the restaurant industry certainly hasn't had and isn't having an easy time. It is understandable that the menu has been reduced. But if there are large price increases and at the same time a significant reduction in quantity (see starter of fried anchovies), then I don't think this is okay. The quality of the food was okay. When there are Christmas candles on the table in mid-September and 6 drinks, each of which were the same, are served in different glasses, then you are not surprised that it was very empty in this location. We had to wait over an hour for our food, beer stale, cola too. Cordon Bleu wasn't cooked through, the meat was still raw inside, a complaint was made, but fried potatoes were left on the table and only taken away when we were informed that they were getting cold. Pizza was delicious though.

If necessary, go around the corner on the side street and walk 5 meters. If you are looking for a restaurant with a large parking lot, you should eat at Burger King or McDonald's.

❌NEVER AGAIN❌ 1. SERVICE: the employee on the phone was totally unfriendly and disrespectful. 2. THE FOOD: we ordered 3 trays and all 3 trays were ABSOLUTELY catastrophic, you don't know the pizzeria like that. I have never seen so little pizza dough in my entire life at any pizzeria, it was simply comparable to “cardboard”. Wir waren mit 4 Personen im Ristorante Grande Italia. Zunächst warteten wir eine gute Stunde,bis die Vorspeise "1x Sardellen frittiert" serviert wurde. Nach c.a. 30 weiteren Minuten wurden 4 Hauptspeisen serviert. Die Pizza "Carlo" war nicht durchgebacken und nicht knusprig. Was uns jedoch besonders aufgefallen ist, waren die überteuerten Getränkepreise. 1/4l Pinot Grigio Weißwein für 8,50€, Lambrusco 1/4l 8,50€ Wasser 0,7l 7€! Krefelder 0,5l 5,60€, sowie Cola 0,5l 5,40€

First of all, it's really tasty here, but it can also be a mess. We were there last night and chose bruschetta as a starter among others. But the bruschetta really didn't taste like anything, I noticed that clearly when paying, I thought about it for a moment and then pushed it to the kitchen (where else). We then paid and only later realized that we also had to pay for the bruschetta. It's not OK. In a good restaurant this is not charged or regulated differently. That disappointed us.

Pizzeria like it used to be, the way it should be. No fancy Micki system gastronomy, but cozy with absolute top quality at a good price. The staff is super friendly. If you are looking for a good pizzeria, this is a top tip!!! We had 2 pizzas. The floor exquisite and well covered. However, starter Bruschetta classico was just average. Nevertheless, a visit is highly recommended!

Solider Salat, leider Warsteiner, gute Spaghetti Aglio - aber: die Pizza ist ’ne glatte 5 (mangelhaft). Käse oben, Teig wirklich schlecht, damit ist kein Start zu machen

Wir waren heute (11.11.2023) zum wiederholten Mal bei "Grande Italia bei Carlo" und wurden leider mehr als enttäuscht. Wir haben Online einen Tisch reserviert, bekamen aber keinerlei Rückmeldung. Als wir telefonisch nachfragten, sagte man uns, das man aus Zeitgründen eh keine Mails liest. (Super, warum bietet man dann den Service an?). Nachdem wir unsere Bestellung aufgegeben haben, kamen recht schnell Pizzabrötchen, Kräuterbutter und der Beilagensalat. Bis dahin war noch alles soweit ok. Dann kamen die Hauptspeisen : Involtini Lombarda mit Bratkartoffeln und Saltimbocca Romana mit Kroketten. Die Involtini waren hart und schmeckten aufgewärmt, die Pilze modrig und waren teilweise angebrannt. Die Bratkartoffeln waren ungewürzt, kalt und zum Teil noch roh. Das Saltimbocca war auf 3mm "tot geklopft", absolut geschmacksneutral und einfach unter ner dicken Scheibe Schinken "begraben". Beide Gerichte waren zudem noch sehr lieblos angerichtet, bzw. einfach auf den Teller "geklatscht". Auf Nachfrage des Kellners, ob das Essen nicht geschmeckt habe (da das halbe Gericht natürlich auf dem Teller blieb) und wir unsere Enttäuschung zum Ausdruck gebracht haben, wurde uns ein Grappa, oder Espresso auf Kosten des Hauses angeboten, was wir aber ablehnten. Ein paar klärende Worte des Kochs wären mir persönlich lieber gewesen, aber aus Richtung Küche kam leider keine Resonanz. Die Rechnung haben wir zwar voll bezahlt, werden aber Grande Italia nun endgültig von unserer Liste streichen. Schade, aber die Qualität hat uns zu sehr nachgelassen und der angestrebte, gemütliche Abend war auch gelaufen.

Preis -Leistung= passt. Wir sind Stammgäste seit vielen Jahren. Topp Service, Topp Qualität und gemütlich!

Ich wurde von einem Freund wegen eines Freundschaftsdienstes eingeladen, das Restaurant aufzusuchen und kennen zu lernen. Es war sehr gut besucht, was darauf schließen lässt, dass es den Gästen gefallen dürfte. In der heutigen Zeit und bei den Preisen ist das ein guter Indikator für Zufriedenheit. Ich habe mich auch wohl und angemessen wertgeschätzt gefühlt. Da ich nur eine Kleinigkeit gegessen hatte, werde ich bei weiteren Besuchen detailliert schildern, wie das Essen auf mich gewirkt hat. Fazit, ich werde wiederkommen.

Sorry aber über zwei Stunden auf sein Essen warten und dann ist die Pizza einen einzige Katastrophe gewesen geht garnicht ! Die Pizza war teilweise verbrannt und der Rand war total trocken ! Wir waren schon öfters bei euch aber sowas negatives wie heute haben wir noch nicht erlebt. Das einzig gute war das Pils und die Nudeln von meiner Großmutter, ansonsten sehr schlecht heute. Das Personal kann eigentlich nichts dafür .. es war viel zu tun und es war einfach zu wenig Personal dort und deshalb mussten wir auch sehr lang warten das wir auch mal ein Bierchen nachbestellen konnten… schade

Wir sind hier sehr angenehm bedient worden. Das Essen war äußerst lecker und preiswert. Die Getränke zauberhaft. Die Einrichtung ist schön und man kann auch draußen sitzen. Es ist toll hier. Danke für den netten Abend. Wir kommen wieder.

Wir haben hier das 10 Gänge Menü über Groupon gebucht. Den Tisch war für 18 Uhr reserviert. Wir waren pünktlich dort und haben auch direkt Bescheid gesagt,das wir ein Gutschein haben.Die Frage direkt ob wir ihn ausgedruckt haben.Leider haben wir es nicht gemacht,da steht ausgedruckt oder übers Handy . Hier fand der Herr es nicht so gut,das er nicht ausgedruckt ist. Aber es ging dann doch.Nur müssten wir 1 Stunde warten,bis wir die erste Bestellung bekommen haben. Das Essen war sehr gut ,vom Geschmack,bis auf dem Salat,der hatte kein Dressing. Aber für 45 Euro für zwei Personen,kann man nichts sagen.Dazu sind 32 Euro Getränke dazu gekommen. Wir waren 4:15 Stunden im Restaurant. Das 10 Gänge Menü ist immer der letzte Donnerstag im Monat.

Sehr leckere aglio Olio gegessen. Wir kommen wieder. :)

Das Essen war klasse und absolut empfehlenswert!!! Nur leider war das Personal etwas überfordert, ggf. sollte man einen anderen Tag oder eine andere Uhrzeit wählen. Das Restaurant war sehr gut besucht, dadurch war es recht laut.

Große Pizzeria mit Biergarten .Sehr freundliches und aufmerksames Personal. Hatten das 3 Gang Menü über Groupon, Essen war sehr lecker.

Wirklich nett gemacht. Wir waren wegen der kullinarus Card dort und hätten ein 4 gänge Menü. Alle gänge waren wirklich lecker und auch der Wein schmeckte sehr gut. Die gänge kamen dicht hintereinander so das keine großen Pausen entstanden. Das Personal war ebenfalls sehr freundlich und durch die Aufmachung der Lokals wirkte alles sehr gemütlich. Einziger Nachteil ich die Hauptstraße direkt vor der tür. Innen bekommt man davon nichts mit aber das parken ist dadurch etwas schwerer. Sonst alles wirklich sehr zufrieden stellend und wir kommen gerne wieder

Typisches altes italienisches Restaurant mit idyllischen Sitznieschen, dadurch sehr angenehmes Ambiente. Der Kellner ist sehr nett. Das Preisleistungsverhältnis sehr gut 👍 und das Essen sehr 😋

Wir hatten über Groupon das 3-Gänge Pizza/Pasta Menü. Wir wurden freundlich empfangen und leider in einer recht engen Nische hinter der Bar platziert. Als Vorspeisen haben wir uns Carpaccio und Vitelo Tornato ausgesucht. Beides war sehr lecker und von der Menge ausreichend. Als Hauptgang hatten wir 4 verschiedene Pizzen. Leider waren alle Pizzen sehr käselastig und zudem war der Teich sehr schnell durchgeweicht. Als Nachtisch wurde uns Tiramisu (eine Auswahl war nicht möglich) serviert. Dieses war aus unserer Sicht und vom Geschmack her nicht selbst gemacht. Für den reduzierten Preis über Groupon passte das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. Der Service (eine Bedienungskraft) war freundlich und i.R. seiner Möglichkeiten auch schnell.

Netter Abend, hatten ein Menü. Leckeres Essen, freundlicher Service.

Ho dato 5 stelle nel rispetto dei dipendenti che fanno con dedizione il proprio lavoro e li saluto con affetto sia sala che cucina. Per il resto la qualità la presentazione del cibo e il livello di organizzazione è sotto zero Prezzi differenti in base alla clientela in questo caso elevati rispetto al servizio e qualità molto bassa Chi rappresenta l'Italia all'estero in questo modo offende il consumatore e chi fa questo mestiere dando un idea totalmente opposta a quello che siamo realmente. PESSIMO NON ANDATE.. Quello che hanno fatto è incredibile eravamo 25 persone con prenotazione è il tavolo non c’era...ASSURDO!! OCCHIO che sono anche super scorretti hanno messo un nelle serate di punta un menù dove i prezzi si LIEVITANO del 40% ed il mangiare è PESSIMO. SOLA PAZZESCA

Prenotazione per 70 persone alle ore 20.30, ci dicono che bisogna aspettare dopo le 21, leggiamo il menu del ristorante per ordinare, ma ci portano un menù minimale con prezzi maggiorati. Alla fine siamo andati a mangiare altrove.

Egal ob Salat, Pizza oder Pasta alles schmeckt sehr gut. Auch auf Extrawünsche wird eingegangen. Es ist unser Lieblings Italiener.
