Almost everyone enjoyed the food and the service was friendly. Unfortunately, the Tuscany pizza was, in terms of taste, the worst I've ever eaten. The bottom was OK, but burned on the sides, which was still OK. Unfortunately, the pizza lacked a lot of spices and simply didn't taste like anything. The vegetables and tomato sauce simply didn't taste like anything, so there was a serious lack of salt and spices here.

We celebrated a birthday in this restaurant. We got a very good table where we sat centrally but undisturbed. The dishes we ordered came at the same time and were all very good. The service was attentive and unobtrusively quick. The short conversation with the boss further increased our trust and made us feel good. We will all definitely visit this restaurant again. The opportunity to sit outside on warm days is an absolutely perfect addition to the offer.

Food was okay. Service borderline. Totally nice young man at the beginning, but we waited 20 minutes before we got a ticket. But it wasn't bad, we were relaxed. The starter came after the main course. The boss then came to pay, which left a bitter aftertaste for me. At the end there was a large bottle of water added to the bill, which I didn't notice until I got home. Nice atmosphere, with a lot of room for improvement.

Celebrated a birthday in the beer garden with 14 people on a warm summer evening, in a very nice atmosphere, the pond in the beer garden with beautifully staged lighting contributed to this. The service was very accommodating, the different food ordered was served at the same time, top!!! Can absolutely recommend.

Unsorted waiters, flippant, long waiting time for the food to arrive, then, despite express instructions when ordering, one ingredient was used, pizzas were very carelessly topped. All in all unsatisfactory, and the dirty and greasy table surface added to that.

Yesterday the four of us went to HUGO l again. The order was taken quickly and the drinks came quickly. The food came for all of us after about 20 minutes. Everything was again very tasty and fresh. We sat outside in the garden and the atmosphere was very nice. The employees are all very friendly and nice. We will be back definitely. 👍

Yesterday, with over 30 degrees, it was a somewhat bumpy evening at Hugo. But one after anonther. We had an appointment there with a couple who were friends of ours, in what was probably the most beautiful beer garden in Gelsenkirchen. We realized that we didn't know most of the people in the service. Patron Rosario told us that today he had to mourn the loss of three regular employees and that of his partner. But instead of despairing, he pulled out all the stops to get staff for the evening from a friend and, on top of that, brought his sister from Dortmund, who doesn't know the restaurant industry. Accordingly, the employees were not familiar with the menu or the processes at Hugo. Instead of my salad I first got a pizza, there was no cutlery and some things took a little longer. Despite the bumpy process, we spent a lovely evening at Hugo, the quality of the food was good as always and the diverse service team did their best. The guests in the packed garden obviously understood the situation. Patron Rosario hardly noticed the stressful day; he showed his usual friendly disposition, always with a smile and a few words for the guest. Cheers!! He could have stuck his head in the sand and shut it down. But he didn't. We know why Hugo I is our favorite restaurant. People work here whose aim is to give their guests wonderful, enjoyable hours. ★★★★★ We went to the wonderful Italian restaurant Hugo yesterday and are still thrilled! The food was phenomenal and really tasty - we felt completely at home, especially since the waiters were very friendly and funny (kind regards to Frank). Although there was a lot going on, partly because of the many Taylor Swift fans, the atmosphere was exuberant, happy and cheerful. Particularly worth mentioning is the excellent wine we had. Lugano was a dream! We sat in the garden on the terrace, which made the lovely ambience perfect. All in all a successful evening! Thank you, Frank, for this great experience. We'll definitely be back!

Delicious food and super nice team

We were with seven women and were allowed to sit outside in the covered area. The ambience was very appealing and beautifully decorated. The service was rather mixed as we were neither allowed to eat at the same time (and given the small number of people) nor did the waiter come regularly as we would definitely have consumed more drinks. The food was fantastic, there was nothing missing, not even the small appetizer beforehand. We were very surprised by the lack of card payment, which is more than usual these days. Recommended for the palate and the eye, the service can be improved. We were there during the week and it was averagely busy.

The restaurant "HUGO I Trattoria Villa Italia" is a true pearl. The waiting time was pleasantly short and the service was extremely friendly and attentive. The dishes are not only delicious, but also artfully prepared. Particularly noteworthy was the sea bass, which was cooked to perfection and deliciously seasoned. The ambience is inviting and cozy, perfect for a relaxing evening. A clear recommendation for everyone who appreciates good Italian cuisine!

There were about 18-20 people working there. First of all, no card payment, which you were not informed about in advance. Ambiance super cozy outside very well attended. After the drinks arrived late, which is not an issue in a busy shop A totally overwhelmed staff waiting 1.5 hours for a pizza. That's a no go, the regular customers are served faster and that's not possible at all Finally, there is a totally arrogant and cheeky boss who counters the customers with sentences that the Aperol tastes like water, "there has to be water in it too" When paying, a boss who is not open to criticism 🤨🤨🤨🤨 The summary: totally overpriced and value for money is not right at all You feel totally uncomfortable among the regular customers The parking options are an absolute disaster Unfortunately a disappointing evening Once and never again

Today we had dinner at Villa Italia with 5 people. The welcome was very friendly. The table was tastefully decorated. There is an appealing menu with many flavors. The food came quickly and looked really tasty. So delicious that we completely forgot to take pictures and grabbed them straight away. All dishes tasted very good - spagetti frutti di mare, pizzas from the daily menu. We will be back

You can do it, but you don't have to, too messed up, too much sand in the salad, no compensation but a friendly apology🙏🏻😄

A super place I recommend with confidence

When I asked if I could get the starter for two people for one, I was assured that I was his "girlfriend" so no problem. Unfortunately I had to pay the full price as an invoice. For a tomato soup, the starter for one person and mineral water more than 31 Euro. An expensive meal

We celebrated our daughter's confirmation there on June 2nd, 2024 with 20 people, we were allowed to bring our cakes and the decorations that our daughter had chosen there the day before, after a short discussion we were shown the room and how the starters would be provided and everything else was already discussed! When we got there on Sunday we were greeted very warmly, when we were brought into the room we were blown away, the tables were set up really well and the tables were beautifully decorated with decorations that blew our socks off, our daughter, our guests and we were totally thrilled!!!! We had great waiters Christoph and Hermann Christoph gave him a little help, but he didn't leave any of our guests' wishes unfulfilled. Thank you very much for that! The ambience and everything around it was a success for our daughter guests and we felt comfortable. We can recommend this restaurant with a clear conscience!!!

The food was great as always! No question, the kitchen is the strongest area but there is still a lot of room for improvement in the service. Sometimes I feel like the staff is hiding from their customers. You have to wait for everything. You can also talk to customers. Just say it when something crunches.

The restaurant has taken a disappointing turn. I ordered a pizza to take away. The service staff was friendly and the atmosphere is cozy, but the pizzas are always smaller than you are used to at Hugo... the bread was tasteless and hard. More suitable for feeding animals. Overall, the visit to the restaurant was a disappointing experience once again. No comparison to Hugos from 2 years ago. Very unfortunate!

A perfect place to chill out after a long day at work with delicious food in a Mediterranean atmosphere and with nice people.

I have rarely eaten so well. And although that was my first visit, it certainly wouldn't be my last. It was very, very crowded that evening and somehow our appetizer plate got lost. Since we would have found it a shame to have had to return the main course, we were allowed to order a dessert on the house as a token of our gratitude and apology. I really thought that was great. The staff is just warm and super friendly. We felt completely comfortable!

Unfortunately I ate my steak from 5 people instead of pizza, pizza was great.

The black truffle was very good and so was the Montepulciano. The service was friendly and the building also made a good impression. I will definitely come back. This was my second time here. The Syrah was good too. The carpaccio was plentiful and good and the pasta aglio olio et pepperocino was also great. All in all a very good impression, I'll be back. Many thanks to the team

A really great restaurant. The food is amazing, the portions are neither too big nor too small. In my opinion, as little as possible should be thrown away. The service is also great and the ambience is just as excellent. But be careful... make a reservation! Great class!

Waren zum ersten Mal dort essen und sind auf Anhieb begeistert gewesen. Neben der außergewöhnlichen Einrichtung des Lokals war der Service sehr schnell und aufmerksam. Das Essen war vorzüglich . Alles in Allem kann das Hugo 1 nicht viele weitere Besuche von uns erwarten!!! (schade) Da für Rollstuhlfahrer mit ihre Behinderung keine Möglichkeitkeiten gegeben sind.........

Wir haben Neujahr (ohne Reservierung) kurzfristig versucht in diesem Restaurant noch 4 Plätze zu bekommen. Wir sind freundlich empfangen worden und unser Essen war einsame Spitze! Erstklassig. Dieses Restaurant ist auf jeden Fall eine Empfehlung wert.

Es ist schon erstaunlich, dass man auch ein Stammlokal haben kann, was 200 KM von zu Hause weg ist. Aber wir sind seit Jahren hier "immer mal wieder" zu Gast und wurden noch nie enttäuscht. Wir waren auch hier zu Gast, als der heutige Besitzer "Rosario" seinen ersten Tag als Kellner in diesem Restaurant hatte. Mittlerweile hat er das Restaurant übernommen und führt es in alter Tradition auf diesem hohen Qualitätsstandart weiter. Das Essen schmeckt wirklich "mega lecker". Ob Pizza, Pasta oder auch der Rucola Salat mit den Zwiebeln und den warmen Champignons.... mir läuft beim Schreiben schon das Wasser im Mund zusammen. Die Bedienungen sind freundlich und haben alles gut im Griff. Am Liebsten sind wir im Sommer dort, da auch der Biergarten wirklich außergewöhnlich schön angelegt ist und zum Verweilen einlädt. Wir freuen uns schon darauf, wenn wir das nächste mal den weiten Weg von Kassel antreten, um unsere Mannschaft gewinnen zu sehen und vorher in diesem "perfekten" Lokal einzukehren! Man sollte vorher reservieren, da es aufgrund des guten Service und dem leckeren Essen immer sehr voll ist.

Licht und viel Schatten. Haben wohl einen schlechten Tag erwischt. Schlimmer Eindruck, daß Stammkunden begeistert empfangen, Neukunden jedoch nicht richtig behandelt werden! Die weibliche Bedienung sehr freundlich, die männlichen Bedienungen verpeilt und nicht aufmerksam. Beide Hauptgerichte falsch zubereitet und mußte wieder zurück. Vorspeisen lecker, allerdings überteuert. Getränke frisch und moderate Preise. Hauptgerichte lecker, je nach Auswahl grenzwertig teuer. Nachtisch und Kaffee Varianten Topp. Drin recht laut. Am Ende dreimal! gebeten zu bezahlen, bis es endlich geklappt hat.

Nachdem wir gestern im Lindengarten beschimpft und rausgeschmissen wurden, weil wir nur neun Personen waren und somit nicht ganz vollzählig, haben wir kurzfristig einen Tisch in der Villa reservieren können. Wie immer wurden wir super freundlich empfangen. Der Service war erstklassig. Das Essen, wie immer vorzüglich. Für den kleinen Gast gab es sogar eine Pizza mit Ohren und Augen in Bärchenform😍 Unser nächstes großes Familienessen, wird auf jeden Fall dort stattfinden.

Meine Kollegin hatte Wochen vorher einen Tisch reserviert und ich muss sagen......geht gar nicht!So ungemütlich, direkt an der Küche hatten wir unseren Tisch. Es war zu hell ,es hat nach fett u gebratenem gerochen....gemütlich ist definitiv anders!Der Tischläufer(zum abwischen)ging gar nicht.....Die Speisekarte müsste mal erneuert werden, schön u appetitlich ist anders!Das Ambiente war wirklich nicht schön!Das Essen war o.k,aber alles andere eher enttäuschend!Schadeee....

Haben dort lecker gegessen. Essen und Service war sehr gut.

Essen war inordnung. Alles etwas in die jahre gekommen. Service zwar nett, aber man musste länger warten. Ärgerlich war, das getränke abgeräumt wurden wenn man den tisch zum rauch verlassen hat. Gab zwar nachher ein entschuldigungsgetränk, aber trotzdem zwei mal passiert. Speisekarten klebten, genauso wie die tische. Bei den kabinentüren der wcs wäre ich fast nicht mehr rausgekommen, weil der schieber harkt. Alles in allem wars ok.

Essen: 5 Sterne. Es war lecker und Pizza und Pasta groß / mengenmäßig viel. Wo andere mit dem Belag sparen, bekommt man hier auf jeden Fall was geboten! In den Spaghetti waren mehr als 10 große Garnelen + ein Scampi obendrauf Die Bedienung war freundlich, der Service hatte allerdings generell so einige Probleme an unserem Abend, was die Organisation und Kommunikation angeht. Hier ist noch "Luft nach oben". Deshalb nur 4-Sterne. Den 5. Stern gibt es nach dem nächsten Besuch, sofern auch das dann noch besser klappt.

Mein Mann und ich waren zum ersten Mal Gäste in diesem Restaurant. Besonders vorzuheben ist die zuvorkommende, freundliche und sehr umsichtige Art. Es gab keine Situation wo lange gewartet werden musste. Weder beim Empfang , noch bei Getränken und Essen. Die Karte ist ausreichend groß und das Essen wirklich gut. Selten so eine gute Pizza gegessen. Da die Portionen sehr großzügig sind, sowohl Vorspeisen wie auch Hauptgerichte, wurde sofort nach dem Essen gefragt, ob die Reste eingepackt werden dürfen. Wir hatten einen Tisch für zwei im Eingangsbereich. Das ist das einzige was nicht so optimal war. Da die Türen auf waren und wir im Durchgangsverkehr saßen. Fairerweise muss erwähnt werden, dass wir auch nicht nach einem anderen Platz gefragt haben. Die Preise sind sehr fair. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Der, Service war nicht sehr gut

Die etwas ruppige Bedienung wäre ja noch zu verschmerzen gewesen... Die Vorspeise kam erst falsch und dann nach 1 Stunde Wartezeit. Auch drr Hauptgang dsuert wiederum eine Stunde. Der Hsuptgang, Tagliatelle mit Strinpilzen schmeckte nach absolut nichts. Lieblos serviert. Auf die Frage obs geschmeckt hat folgte die ehrliche Antwort: nein! Kam prompt ungefragt die Rechnung. Nie wieder HUGO Das war vor Jahren mal ein gutes Restaurant.

Nettes Ambiente, netter Service, gutes Essen - in Summe ein stimmiges Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis Und flexibel - obwohl die Terrasse eigentlich schon geschlossen ist, konnten wir mit unserer Gruppe (10 Personen) bei mildem Herbstwetter trotzdem draussen sitzen.

Essen ist ganz okay aber mehr nicht. Die Bedienung ist genau das Gegenteil vom herzlichen Italiener um die Ecke. Die männlichen Kellner scheinen die Gäste regelrecht zu verachten.

Auch unter neuer Leitung ist das Hugo I nach wie vor unser absolutes Lieblingsrestaurant und unsere Nr. 1 in Gelsenkirchen. Die italienische Küche wie sie hier gelebt und gekocht wird ist genau nach unserem Gusto. Alles frisch und bestens abgeschmeckt. Dazu ein leckerer I Gelsi oder Aperol Sprizz und man verlebt einen schönen Abend im Hugo. Faires Preis- Leistung-Vverhältnis, auch in Coronazeiten. Wer freundlichen, lockeren Service mag, ist bei Alban und Rosario bestens aufgehoben. Wir freuen uns schon jetzt auf lange Sommerabende mit Freunden im schönsten Biergarten Gelsenkirchens.

Wir kamen durch Zufall ins hugo 1 ! Waren absolut begeistert! Märchenhafter Gastgarten, tolle Gastgeber und wunderbares Essen! Wir kommen bald wieder!!!

Liebes Team, wir waren am 01.02.20 das Erste mal bei euch. Vor einem Besuch von Ralf Schmitz in der Emscher Lippe Halle wollten wir bei euch vorher lecker essen. Nun, der Empfang war eher kalt und ohne viel Worte. Getränke waren schnell aufgenommen und auch schnell am Tisch. Irgendwann konnten wir dann auch unsere Bestellung aufgeben. Der Salat war alles andere als schön angerichtet. Nach einem Wunschdressing wurde im Vorfeld nicht gefragt. Vor unseren leeren Vorspeisentellern sassen wir dann längere Zeit ohne das abgeräumt wurde. Der Service, gerade bei den Männern war alles andere als freundlich. Bella Italia sieht da anders aus. Die Pizza war dann ok. Alles in allem war es ok, aber ein zweites mal werden wir nicht noch einmal kommen. Ach ja noch eine kurze Anmerkung. Am Nachbartisch hatte man die Vorspeise mit Schinken und Melone gewählt. Die Deko, dass man Schinken und Melone in einem Weinglas dekoriert fanden wir allerdings sehr amüsant. Das ging einfach gar nicht.

Pizze aus dem Steinofen. Pasta und Meeresfrüchte. Sind oft hier und genießen es. Dad Essen. Die Atmosphäre. Auch ein gutes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis.

Wir haben das Restaurant durch einen Zufall gefunden und waren sofort begeistert. Von Aussen sah es eher unscheinbar aus aber drinnen alles sehr schön dekoriert und liebevoll gemacht. Personal war super freundlich und aufmerksam, es kam sogar der Chef vorbei und frage ob alles gut ist. Und zu allerletzt natürlich das Essen war sensationell lecker. Wiederkommen ist garantiert. ❤️💯

Wir essen regelmäßig und gern im Hugo. Im schönen Sommer 2018 waren wir häufig mit Freunden in größerer Runde zu Gast im wunderschönen Garten des Hugo und verlebten jedes Mal einen kleinen Urlaubstag dort. Bis spät in den Abend genossen wir an schön gedeckten Tischen hervorragendes Essen und Getränke, stets umsorgt von den sehr aufmerksamen Servicemitarbeitern/-innen. Die abendliche Atmosphäre im Hugo-Garten ist schon etwas Besonderes. Einfach toll. Für uns gibt es nichts vergleichbares in Gelsenkirchen....!!

Sehr gute Auswahl an verschiedensten Speisen und Getränken, aber die Gambas sind das Beste. Auch der Nachtisch ist ein Muss. Alles serviert von sehr freundlichen Mitarbeitern. Im Sommer kann man im Garten Platz nehmen. Besser man reserviert vorher, da das Lokal immer gut besucht ist, kein Wunder, die Gambas eben.
