As always, excellent service, superb food, and a great atmosphere. The perfect restaurant to enjoy good, high-quality food. I would personally recommend and highly recommend it! We will definitely be back many more times.

Great atmosphere and superb food. The chicken tikka was beautifully seasoned, slightly spicy, and served with naan that was both soft and crispy. The rice was perfectly fluffy. The lamb tikka was incredibly tender, very fatty, but also incredibly flavorful – be warned, it's spicy! And the lamb biryani was wonderfully buttery and seasoned to perfection.

We've been visiting Punjab Restaurant for many years and are always delighted. All the dishes are delicious and freshly prepared – you can really taste the care and experience that goes into cooking. We especially appreciate the wide selection of vegetarian and vegan dishes, which aren't just "side dishes" but truly creative and incredibly flavorful. It's a family-run business, which we are very happy to support. The lunch menu deserves special mention: it's served extremely quickly without compromising on quality. When it's busy, there can be a slightly longer wait, but that's perfectly acceptable to us – after all, everything is cooked fresh, and the quality is consistently high. Overall, a warmly run restaurant with excellent food and a diverse selection. Highly recommended!

We were in Punjab with our family and were thrilled with the delicious food. The food was also pleasantly spicy, which we loved. The drinks were also really tasty; we had mango lassi and coconut milk with pineapple – highly recommended. The service was exceptionally friendly and attentive.

I went to the Punjab Restaurant and had Chicken Tikka Masala – simply delicious! The meat was tender, the sauce aromatic, and the service warm and welcoming. A truly wonderful experience that I highly recommend.

Delicious food and a packed restaurant on a Tuesday evening. Friendly staff and a great location. The quality is exceptional, and it's clear they don't skimp on quality. Lamb tikka masala and mojito. A real treat.

The food tastes bad and is of very low quality. The service in the restaurant is unprofessional and disrespectful. The staff behaves very inappropriately towards customers and drivers. Furthermore, I was refused entry and physically assaulted by a staff member. Based on these experiences, I absolutely cannot recommend this restaurant.

The food is very good, but punctuality and time management are truly terrible; plan at least two hours for dinner. We ordered for pickup, weren't there at the specified time, and it was delayed by 20 minutes. Thirty minutes later, we were ready to pick it up again, and it took another 40 minutes. There were 20 minutes between the first and last orders, so the first one was already cold.

This is my third time ordering from here. The first two times were great, but I just received a Malai Kofta delivery that was unfortunately inedible. The bag was completely greased, the sauce was 70% pure fat, and the kofta were soggy. I couldn't even eat half of it. This is quite annoying, as the dish costs almost 20 euros.

The restaurant's ambiance is lovely and inviting. Unfortunately, my husband and I still didn't have a pleasant evening there. We ordered drinks, soup as a starter, and main courses. When the soup was served, I found a hair in it. That's not nice, but it can happen. I sent the soup back, and a waiter came back and explained that I had only seen herbs. They brought me another bowl of soup. When I had eaten half of it, I had a black hair in my mouth (apparently, I was simply given the same soup again). What was particularly bad, besides not being taken seriously afterward (I expected a fresh bowl of soup), was that instead of apologizing, they assumed it was my hair (I'm fair-haired). They reacted very rudely when I showed them the hair and told me the chef was bald. We paid and left. I understand mistakes happen, but the way it was handled was completely inappropriate and unacceptable. We won't be coming back. The service was very poor.

No amount of good food or ambience can compensate for the unwelcoming attitude of the person attending the customers. Although the food and ambience was good, the person attending the customers lacked hospitality. Felt unwelcomed right from the start. With this kind of good location, food and ambience only a little change in attitude can do wonders in increasing the business. Hope the owners take the review in positive stride. All the best.

Honest experience: they hate Indian customers. The difference between the way they treat us and other Germans is clearly evident. We waited for 1 hour just for 3 simple dishes. When we asked the young waiters, they, with zero manners, ignored us. Then when we directly went inside to ask again, they give a stern look and ask “Taste chahiye ki nahi?” I wanna ask, would they have the balls to treat a German like this? Absolutely disgusting. Shame

Absolutely terrible experience, twice in a row. Ordered from this restaurant and specifically told the lady on the phone that we wanted the food with less oil. She agreed, but what we received was half food, half oil, no exaggeration. I could literally fill a full glass with the oil that came out of it. Still, we decided to give them another chance the next day, big mistake. When we called to explain the mess from the previous night, no one bothered to answer at first. When the lady finally picked up, her tone was rude and dismissive - “Yes, I got your order, why are you calling?” After telling her about the issue, she simply blamed the chef and said it’s not her fault. The food that arrived then was even worse, swimming in oil. This kind of service and quality is unacceptable anywhere, let alone in Germany. Totally careless, unprofessional, and disappointing. Avoid at all costs.

I've experienced every Indian restaurant in Karlsruhe, and the Punjab Restaurant is a different caliber. I'm absolutely thrilled! The lamb tikka was perfectly prepared – tender, juicy, and wonderfully seasoned. You can immediately taste the fresh ingredients and authentic spices that make the dish so special. The side dishes were also perfectly matched. The service was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere in the restaurant was very pleasant. I will definitely be back and can recommend the Punjab Restaurant to anyone who loves Indian cuisine!

Unfortunately, we were very disappointed with the service. Even though it wasn't busy, it took a very long time for our food to be brought to our table. At that point, a dish was missing, and it hadn't been brought to our table for 30 minutes (and would have been forgotten if we hadn't asked). We then said we'd like to take our leftovers with us, but they were never brought to our table. After waiting 20 minutes, we were fed up and left. Unfortunately, we won't be coming back anytime soon.

We're really disappointed. We've been there twice already, and both times it was just terrible. It takes forever to get served (first you're ignored, and then when you ask if you can finally order, you get snapped at). The staff and owners are unfriendly, the food is nothing special, and both times I felt very sick after eating. We certainly won't be going back.

First of all, the food here is truly amazing and delicious. The ambiance is very nice. We've been here several times, and it's always been very good. However, in the last few months/years, the service has declined significantly. The service last time, however, surpassed everything. The owner/waitress was unfriendly, slow, inefficient, and forgetful. We were the first to enter the restaurant and received our menus quickly. From then on, things went downhill. It took 45 minutes to order our food. In the meantime, other guests arrived who had placed their orders before us. At that time, another server started serving. Then there was another hour wait for the appetizer and another 45 minutes for the main course. A main course and a side dish were forgotten. 15 minutes after complaining, the forgotten dish arrived. When the rice ran out and we ordered more, another 15 minutes wait followed. After another question about the rice, we were told that it had also been forgotten. We've been in the restaurant for almost three hours now and haven't seen dessert yet. Even before dessert arrived, our patience ran out, and we asked for the bill. Dessert arrived, and we asked for the bill twice more. After another 15 minutes, we finally went up to the bar and paid there. After three hours and 25 minutes, we finally left the restaurant. During the entire time, the restaurant was only half full. Overall, the food was fabulous, but the service overstretched our patience and more than spoiled our appetite. We'll order next time, but we'll think carefully about whether we want to continue supporting the restaurant. In any case, it's clear that a visit to the restaurant is no longer recommended.

After waiting for more than an hour, we were finally served by a nonchalant women : no smile, not even a word. That's totally unprofessional. The order was wrong : we order 4 naans and they gave us one only, a burnt one, and the chicken was not good. I do not recommend, you can surely find a better indian place to eat

I was not a guest at your restaurant with a group or team, but only with my wife, her friend, and two small children. I also mentioned this in my review from August 10, 2025. Apparently, it wasn't read correctly. At the time mentioned, there was no group in your premises. And there was no church service in progress at that time. There were guests being served both inside and outside. You seem to want to relocate this incident to a different situation. We were with you on Sunday, August 10, 2025, around 8:15 p.m. And again, there were only three adults and two small children. Best regards I am only evaluating the lady's behavior here – not the food. Unfortunately, her rude and arrogant demeanor completely put us off eating. We were on a stopover in Karlsruhe today and searched for a restaurant on Google. We came across several results, including Punjab. Since we're from the Punjab region ourselves, we were very excited and decided to go there. When we arrived, a few people were already seated on the right side of the restaurant, but there were still plenty of free tables – especially in the slightly raised area. The waitress didn't even greet us – no "hello," no smile, just a quick glance and a curt "How many?" I replied, "Three adults, two children." Then she, very briskly, said, "Sit here with me." I was a bit surprised, because the tables to the left of the entrance were neither clean nor did the lights turn on. After a short wait, as she was busy, I politely asked if we could sit on the right instead. Her response: "Now sit where I tell you!" Wow—I was lost for words. I left immediately with my family and we ate somewhere else. Just to clarify: We didn't eat there, so I'm only rating the service here. Unfortunately, I have to give this one one star to post it.

Unfortunately, my visit was disappointing. The wait for the food was very long, and when it was finally served, it was without any friendliness or smile. The service seemed unmotivated and unattentive, which spoiled the overall experience. For me, a warm demeanor and respectful service are essential to a successful restaurant visit – unfortunately, both were lacking here.

The food was always excellent, but today we had a very unfriendly encounter with the lady who served us. She was very unfriendly, quite aggressive, and, by her own admission, stressed. But that's no reason to be so rude to your guests. Even though the food is, as I mentioned, really good, that was the last time I'll be there.

We had to wait a very long time for the waitress (or the restaurant manager) to take our order, but she simply didn't come and instead served guests who arrived much later. When we wanted to leave, she simply asked, 'Didn't you want to eat?' We said yes, but we couldn't stand the wait any longer. She simply said, 'Then go away.' The behavior was truly disappointing, and the way it was handled was even worse than the actual problem.

We eat here regularly and are always impressed by the consistently excellent quality of the food. We particularly enjoy the Chicken Sahi Korma and Butter Chicken. The service is also super friendly and accommodating. We always enjoy coming back.
