Good Indian restaurant. All dishes were tasty and well seasoned. The chicken tikka could have been a little more tender. The mango lassi was great and not too sweet. The cocktails were also good. The atmosphere was also nice and cozy. Only the service could have been a little friendlier and more attentive.

We had a very nice lunch experience. I asked for an item which was not on the menu, and the host said they could make it for me, no problem. I also requested that it be extremely spicy, as that's how I enjoy it. The food was delicious, and it met my expectations for it's level of spiciness. In my experience, it is very rare that restaurants go far enough with the heat. I was very pleased. I will go back.

Got a take out and the food was soaked in oil. It was unbelievable how much oil they had put in one portion of meal. This restaurant is not even remotely authentic or healthy. The quality of the meat was questionable as well

Wir waren an einem Samstag zum Mittagessen dort. Jeder von uns hat ein anderes Gericht bestellt und uns hat es allen sehr gut geschmeckt! Die Preise waren angemessen. Besonders hat uns das gesamte Ambiente gefallen und die gepflegte Tischkultur mit weißen Stofftischtüchern und ebensolchen Sevietten.

Punjab is by far the best Indian restaurant in the area! I've been coming here for years and every time I'm amazed by the quality of the food and the service. The dishes are authentic and fresh - the chicken mango curry in particular is an absolute highlight. The team is always friendly and attentive. Absolute recommendation!

The stiff atmosphere in the restaurant didn't contribute much to the mediocre enjoyment of the meal, but the worst thing was the unfriendly service, a person who was simply an unpleasant person by nature, so to speak.

The best Indian in BADEN WÜRTTEMBERG. I have already been to Heidelberg, Karlsruhe, Freiburg and Munich (Bavaria). Nobody comes to the level of Punjab.

Had a nice experience which was soured towards the end by the rude behavior of the management of the restaurant. We had ordered 2 dishes which were served with rice but we had 1 portion and a little bit of the other portion of rice left over along with some biryani left over, which we asked for, to be packed to takeaway. While they packed the biryani, they refused to do so for the plain rice, saying they did not give the plain rice, as the vegetables served with them were over. On asking them why, as it was already served to us and included in our order, their responses were pretty rude and condescending. Made us wonder why when they could pack the leftover, biryani could not do the same for the plain rice. Is it reused somehow???

Food was average. But, the attitude of the staff was pathetic. We had got servings of rice & we had some leftovers, so we asked to pack it. They packed the leftover biryani, but they just refused to give us the rice, telling they are not allowed to do that in "Karlsruhe". Traveling and staying in Europe for the last 11 years, we never had such an experience. So, the question is what exactly they do with our rice? Trying to reuse it ? 🤔 Would you really prefer to go to such a place?

I eat here regularly and I can only say it tastes very good. The food is healthy and the portions are perfect for me. The mango lassi is super delicious and the Kashmiri tea is simply delicious. Aloo gohbi Masala, Aloo Chana Masala, Tarka Daal, Chicken & Lamb Sabji, Chicken and Lamb Jalfrazi, Tandoori Bharta, Green Naan and Firni . These are all great dishes and everyone should have eaten something here at least once if possible. The owners are very nice to me and as often as I come here they have accompanied me on part of my life's journey. I am very grateful for every single meal. ☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️

The bald waiter was very unhappy that we showed up to eat at 2.12pm when the restaurant actually closes for lunch at 2.30. Nevermind that someone was already sitting and eating and we offered to be quick or even carryout. Who knows what the food was like. They get 2 stars for the location

We were there with a larger group. The food was very tasty. Vegetarians were also very satisfied. Individual orders were mixed up. But the solution was straightforward. I was enthusiastic about the Indian wine. Highly recommended.

But what a great discovery! We were able to eat on the terrace across the street (in summer). A large choice on the menu, very reasonable prices. The meal was "excellent", both in terms of quantity (very generous) and quality. Real authentic cuisine that is worth the detour! The value for money is perfect!

The purest catastrophe! We waited almost 2 hours for food. The lady was very unfriendly and arrogant! A dish was delivered incorrectly...never again!!!

The food is really, really tasty. However, the repeatedly substandard service made us stop visiting this restaurant. It always takes forever (easily 15 minutes) for anyone to come to take drink orders and bring the menu. I don't want to say anything negative about the time it takes to prepare the food; it can take a long time if it's fresh. But also the clearing up and the desire to pay... it just takes forever, despite the fact that the store is relatively empty. A smile at one point or another might also be used. Very unfortunate. But we have now found a replacement in Bretten that we are completely happy with.

We had booked a table for 5 p.m. today. We arrived on time, a service employee was sleeping on a bench, didn't even get up and told us to come back at 5:30 p.m., we should leave. A thunderstorm was raging outside. What kind of service/service is this? What an impudence? When making the reservation a very friendly girl on the phone, but this treatment???? Never again!!!!

The food was good. However, not exactly cheap. Other Indians give you naan bread for free in advance. And for the relatively high prices, the portions are really small. The rice was put on the table a good 15 minutes before our food arrived, without a warmer. It was then cold until our food came. After the meal, no more service came by. We actually wanted to have a leisurely cocktail. After a good 20 to 30 minutes we went in to get someone we could pay to. We drank the cocktail somewhere else.

Were there last time and ordered a few things. If you know exactly what you expect, you will only be disappointed. The lady was very unfriendly I don't recommend it to anyone

The food was tasty, but really not cheap. Service wasn't that great. Even though there was almost nothing going on, we waited a long time.

I had to wait for more than three quarters of an hour for the food to arrive. I had also ordered a whole pot of green tea. Then when the food came from the kitchen, they also forgot to give me Indian bread and that for a small order??! As a self-collector!!!! Lieferando was there after me and was allowed to pick up their orders promptly and I was standing there as ordered and not picked up when I Dan. When I got home or at the hotel I was so looking forward to the meal. Suddenly in the middle of the meal, just before I had finished eating, I found a piece of wood similar to that. I thought it would be a piece of herbs for the taste. I have no idea. OK. The next thing I found was one Plastic wrap woah no no No Go OK No Go it's a shame to find something like that while you're eating, so that's my conclusion Three stars out of 5 stars each Once the chef owner has apologized for this incident I will delete my review here Kind regards from Karlsruhe City Ps I have always lived in Karlsruhe since my childhood, so I ask myself what comes out of the gastronomy restaurant from the kitchen-international culinary diversity?! Ordered food to pick up - 1x papadum (which was missing the sauces) 2x chicken tikka. One of which is spicy and one of which is not. I know that Indian cuisine is spicy, but both were indistinguishable in terms of spiciness. Furthermore, the food was unfortunately totally greasy and greased all the way into the plastic bag. Difficult if you transport it in the car. The meat was very tender and the rice was great as always. 1 chicken tikka masala = €17.50

Rude, unfriendly, disaster… Never again!!!! The boss with glasses was a horror and didn't come to us after calling us several times. And when she came she said something in a very rude way, she said “What do you want from me” And a very long waiting time. Completely catastrophic experience.

My recent visit to Punjab Restaurant Karlsruhe left me greatly disappointed. Despite looking forward to a satisfying dining experience, I encountered numerous issues that marred the evening. First and foremost, the service was subpar, particularly from one staff member who exhibited a rude demeanor throughout the meal. The lack of professionalism and courtesy significantly detracted from the overall ambiance and left a negative impression. While the food itself was passable, it failed to compensate for the poor service received. The flavors were adequate, but the overall experience was overshadowed by the discourteous behavior of the service lady. In conclusion, while Punjab Restaurant Karlsruhe may offer decent food, the lack of proper customer service greatly diminishes the overall dining experience. I hope the management takes note of these concerns and works towards improving the service quality to ensure a more enjoyable experience for future patrons.

Worst service you can get in any Indian restaurant in Karlsruhe. The atmosphere was nice, but the staff do not know how to manage time. Our order arrived after sitting 2 long hours, which was horrible in my experience. The Indian lady with the glass was so mean. I think if she continues to work in that restaurant, it will be surely shut down soon. I will never recommend any of my friends to go there.

The food was good (lamb biryani), salty but balanced with yoghurt, it was really nice, but the wait was long. The waitresses were nice though.

Objektivität ist das eine ,Verunglimpfung das Andere. Wir haben das Lamb Birjani für 16,90 und das Prawn Birjani für18,90 gegessen. Die Portionen waren reichlich. Beide Gerichte waren sehr gut abgeschmeckt. Der Service war beratend und sehr freundlich. Stofftischdecken und Mundservietten für diesen Preis??? Wohl nicht zu erwarten. Obwohl in der Karte vorne die lange Wartezeit mit der frischen Zubereitung begründet wird, ist diese zu lang. Der Hemmschuh könnte auch Lieferando heissen? Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Mit Freunden hier Essen gegangen, das erste mal Indisch. Der Service war leider nicht hilfsbereit, mehr patzig und arrogant, fragen nach Empfehlungen waren nicht erwünscht. Ein Lächeln wäre auch schön gewesen... extra scharf bestellt, war einfach nur würzig...Wärmeplatten waren eher nur deko. Wir kommen nicht wieder, sorry.

Bestes indisches Restaurant, in dem ich je war. Chicken Tikka... Ein Gedicht 😉 Wie man an vielen Bewertungen hier sehen kann, ist der Service echt nicht der schnellste, aber man wird definitiv mit einem richtig guten Geschmack belohnt! Also einfach etwas Zeit mitbringen und dafür richtig lecker essen! Trotzdem natürlich ein kleiner Kritikpunkt.

Wir haben leider 1,5 h auf unser Essen gewartet. Es kann immer mal vorkommen, dass es länger dauert, aber dann könnte man doch Bescheid geben. Wenn ich die bisherigen Rezessionen so lese, dauert das Essen wohl immer sehr lange. Der Service war auch sehr unaufmerksam. Die unfreundliche Chefin hat uns abkassiert und keinerlei Entschuldigung geäußert, dass es so lange gedauert hat. Beim Bezahlen kam nicht mal ein „Wiedersehen“. Das Essen hingegen war sehr lecker.

I would like to share an experience which I have never come across: I came here for lunch at 13:30 and when they came to take my order, they already mentioned that the order will take time and we were completely fine with it. My order came at 14:35(after an hour) which was incomplete and at 14:45 I asked them for an additional piece of naan and the remaining gravy, the Punjabi waitress working there gave me the remaining part of the gravy which had only oil and not actually a gravy and said me that the kitchen is closed. I said her that I got the order just now and to my surprise, following were the response: 1. I can't do anything for you, how can you expect me to make for you in the kitchen. 2. She said- We also have other things in life to do so we can't do anything for you. Is the service you expect in a restaurant? Being an Indian as well, she was so rude to us. What a horrible experience. I would not at all recommend this restaurant to anyone. Only go there if you are fine with the rude behavior and waiting for hours.

The food was absolutely amazing. If you want authentic Indian food THIS IS THE PLACE. Do not hesitate to go there I can guarantee the food will satisfy you (I had butter chicken and it was so good)

Awesome place to have a nice authentic Indian meal, ambience is cosy and great, food is made to perfection and the owners are genuinely friendly. The lentil soup is just perfect, their Tandoori's gravy is probably the best Indian gravy I've ever had (including my time in Dubai). Highly recommended by all means!

Sehr schlechter Service. Wir waren eine große Gruppe und es gab noch eine weitere große Gruppe. Wir haben zur selben Zeit reserviert (genau als das Restaurant geöffnet hat) Trotzdem wurde die andere Gruppe vor uns bevorzugt. Wir haben 2 Stunden gewartet mit zwei kleinen Kindern. Wir hatten ausdrücklich darum gebeten denn Kindern eventuell irgendwie essen vorher zu bringen. Diese Bitte wurde nicht aufgenommen und ganz klar ignoriert. Zudem wurde eine Bestellung falsch aufgenommen und als man darum bat die richtig Bestellung zu bringen wurde ein Ultimatum gestellt, dass man doch das was jetzt schon zubereitet worden ist nehmen soll oder 5 Stunden warten soll. Eine reine Frechheit. Zuletzt noch zu erwähnen ist, dass wir ausdrücklich erwähnt hatten, dass es sich um eine Geburtstagfeier handelte. Ein bisschen mehr Verständis für diese Umstände wäre angemessen gewesen. Und ganz klar wurde der Liefer Service vor allen Anwesendem im Restaurant bevorzugt. Das Klingeln des Telefons war dabei auch sehr störend und irritierend. Essen war gut aber nicht 2 Stunden Wartezeit und Frechheit vom Service Wert. Wir werden nicht wieder hingehen.
