We've eaten at this steakhouse three times in the past and decided to eat here again this year during our stay in Giessen. We originally wanted to reserve a table for two on Saturday afternoon, but after we explained that we were staying at the hotel belonging to the steakhouse, the waitress suggested we could just drop in. We did so at 8:15 p.m. There were quite a few people waiting – we were the only table of two waiting and were seated relatively quickly. We were kindly offered a glass of sparkling wine to help pass the time. The drinks menu arrived at our table relatively quickly – the drinks we ordered also arrived relatively quickly... and then – nothing else arrived for a long time. After about 40 minutes, we were finally able to look at the menu and order our food. 1 appetizer, 2 beef fillets, cooked medium-rare. The appetizer arrived quickly, but the food was rather subpar. The side salad for the fillets never arrived/was forgotten. What we were treated to, however, while we waited, overlooking the open kitchen (show kitchen), was comedy at its finest. While chatting with the tables next to us, who were experiencing the same thing, we wondered if we'd landed on a hidden camera... Our steaks arrived at our table at 11:00 PM and were cooked well. Not even medium, but well done. The server asked if she could quickly bring us a burger. Since we weren't hungry at that time and after our second glass of wine, we declined. We also declined the attempt to bring us a salad. When we paid, we were charged the full price – but the two salads were then spontaneously deducted from the menu at the table without discussion. The servers tried their best all evening to sort out the chaos in the kitchen (speed, quality, allocation, etc.), but ultimately they had no chance. That's an extra point. We will not be visiting this steakhouse again in the future and, in this context, see no reason to stay overnight in the hotel next door.

We were always very enthusiastic about the Primecut! However, this time it wasn't true! Price performance ratio is no longer right at all. Unfortunately, that doesn't work for lunch menus of 25 euros or more either! Quality was ok but the sizes were rather small for the price! The service doesn't make any effort either and questions are not answered correctly and if so, only very listlessly without any apparent effort. Extra costs for changes are not mentioned. Tables are clean but the rest could be cleaner. It all seems very careless... We won't be coming back any time soon.

As soon as you arrive, the view of an apparently empty B&B building and a stunningly modern dance establishment that was built 25 years ago gives off real good vibes that whet your appetite for more. A quickly constructed building, pimped all around with inexpensive plastic windows, rises as majestically as a bowling alley in the exquisite “Ursulum” commercial area. The interior is a mix of hunting club and Ikea restaurant, refined with a touch of pseudo-elegant Xenos decorative elements and village disco flair. As soon as my tender buttocks touched the bench, the waiter, dressed in a fitted “Das Traumschiff” uniform, asked what we wanted for drinks. Even hastily turning the menu back and forth, sweating as he searched for the choice of drink, didn't stop the gentleman from continuing to stare at us with his crayon raised. It took even longer to get our food orders out. Enough time to take in the inspiring surroundings. In the north, east and south directions, sexy boys vegetate in unironed, sloppy hoodies, enjoying the rush of fake luxury. As the food is prepared with abandon, things get dark, dark and spooky. A stand-up sign is lovingly placed in such a way that leaving your seat becomes challenging. After a few minutes it becomes apparent that the idea wasn't all that great after all. It is being redecorated again. The food is coming. Oh no, bread first. Oh no, it is declared as a greeting as the kitchen. Two cold slices of homemade bread are placed in the middle of the table. A blob of garlic curd beckons from the tube from the tube, quickly dressed up with two pomegranate seeds to cover up the latter for the inattentive observer. Exclusive doesn't even begin to describe it. The main course shines with over-salted fries from the frozen section in a dialogue with old frying fat. The desperate attempt to take the purchased higher, but not high-quality beef to the next culinary level with forced creative and original taste partners fails in front of the eyes of the tormented restaurant visitor. While the potted plants in the background are illuminated alternately by an LED light in three colors and the question inevitably arises as to whether they represent tasteless fragments of the previous Christmas season or are already the harbingers of the neighboring discotheque, the bill is presented in branded polyurethane packaging. One thing you have to leave “Prime Cut” behind: the efforts to make sub-average appear high-quality are consistently carried through to the end. There is a real concept here between the allegorical industrial bread, dear friends of the real culinary delight. Less for more – it just works.

Today, Prime Cut impresses me more than ever – and for good reason. Immediately after the opening in 2014, I experienced excellent quality, excellent service and an ambience that invited you to linger. As a long-time regular customer, I was initially enthusiastic, but over the years the quality unfortunately deteriorated, so I held off returning for a longer period of time. However, with the new owner, Prime Cut has made an impressive new start. The steaks are now not only at the highest level again, but even exceed the original standards. Every bite is a testament to premium ingredients, precise preparation and a clear focus on quality. The service is attentive and professional, and the modern yet cozy atmosphere completes the experience. Today, Prime Cut is in a league of its own and can easily compete with top addresses such as Knossos and other upscale restaurants in Giessen. Here, craftsmanship meets culinary innovation – an experience that delights steak lovers and gourmets alike.

It was my first time visiting Primecut with a group. The service was great, we came to the table very often and always asked if we needed anything else and if everything was to our satisfaction,...exemplary!!! For food, we hardly had to wait, we had our starter, which was really good, the main course came after a suitable amount of time. I had the fillet, and it was simply sensational! Ergo, it's definitely not the last time we've been to Primecut! Thanks again to the entire team, it was a great evening!

After a long time we visited the PrimeCut Steakhouse in Giessen again and what can we say? With the new owner, the restaurant has received an absolutely positive breath of fresh air! As soon as you enter, you can feel the modernized and stylish ambience, which immediately conveys a feeling of well-being. The atmosphere is inviting, warm and simply perfect for an enjoyable evening. But it wasn't just the ambience that impressed us, the quality of the food was at a top level. The steaks are cooked to perfection, of excellent quality and simply delicious. The side dishes and starters also impress with their freshness and sophistication. An absolute must for steak lovers! I was recently at Steakhouse Gießen and I was absolutely thrilled! As soon as you enter the restaurant you feel welcome - the ambience is stylish, cozy and invites you to linger. The highlight was of course the steak: perfectly grilled, juicy and of excellent quality. You can immediately tell that great emphasis is placed on fresh ingredients and preparation here. The side dishes were also delicious and rounded off the taste experience perfectly. The service was extremely friendly, attentive and competent - you really feel valued as a guest here. What is particularly positive is the extensive selection of types of meat and the expert advice on choosing the right cut. For anyone who wants to enjoy a first-class steak in a pleasant atmosphere, the Steakhouse Gießen is definitely a top address. I'll definitely be back - clear recommendation!

The location is nice, but something went wrong this evening. Plates were returned at all the tables around us, the neighboring table waited an hour for 2 burgers. When our steaks arrived, we both had the feeling that it was significantly less than the number of grams we ordered (grilling taken into account after weighing). As we could see, the fries had probably been under the heat lamp for a while and were therefore very crunchy. The steaks came with a thick pepper crust (not everyone likes that) and the steak knives were unfortunately blunt (wooden handles are also not particularly hygienic in a large restaurant). A heart goes out to the blonde, short-haired waitress who still tried to bring order to the chaos. We paid a total of over €70 for 2, which unfortunately wouldn't have been worth it for us tonight

Salad with fillet skewer - the size of a side salad with well-cooked tough meat - ordered medium - complained, cooked through again. Burger with sweet potato fries - regular fries delivered Another salad - was OK. Another burger - as ordered. 5 people, I had already eaten by the time my wife was brought her food. The service staff at the tables deserve 5 stars. We also had a lot of complaints about the other tables and responded confidently to us. But that doesn't change the fact that we won't be coming back. Anyone expecting typical steakhouse starters should also take a look. Carpaccio and Vitello Tonnato… What have these appetizers got to do in a steakhouse?

Wir waren schon öfter hier. Leider hat der Service nachgelassen und auch das Essen. Wir haben über 90 Minuten auf das Essen gewartet. Dann kam es nicht gleichzeitig. Ein Steak war zu durch das andere noch blutig. Ein Burger kam nicht wie bestellt mit glutenfreiem Bun und musste ebenfalls zurück. Geschmacklich am Ende alles gut aber für den Preis den man fürs Essen bezahlt, sollte auch alles reibungslos klappen. Gut ist natürlich, dass man überhaupt glutenfreie Optionen bekommt. Das müssen wir positiv erwähnen.

Ambience good, service very friendly. Without a prior table reservation it can be problematic as it is always quite busy. There are enough parking spaces available. From some seats you can directly watch the preparation in the kitchen. Salads are fresh with delicious dressing. Never again! The atmosphere is just too loud. Like in a train station hall, the guests are always chattering. The food took about 2.5 hours to arrive. Really crazy! I had the "turkey breast" and had to laugh: just a small flat piece of grilled meat; no seasoning or anything else; and that for over 20€; absolute disgrace. The chips that are included everywhere come from the leftovers box; just small 2-3cm pieces and then fried for too long... The best thing was the "potato gratin with cheese"... that was a piece of something on a small plate and that for 5€; I was really angry about that. Meanwhile at the next table: 6 people, they also waited 2.5 hours for their food; one was completely forgotten and when he got his lump of meat, after about 3 hours, it was inedible and completely raw. You get the impression that because so many people are crammed in there, they just can't cope with the amount of orders and are completely overwhelmed. Some of the service staff also run around like minions and have no idea. Conclusion: Never again! Buy a piece of meat from your trusted butcher and fry it in the pan yourself. At least with PrimeCut you won't have a gastronomic experience!!!

Disaster! The staff, especially in the kitchen, were completely overwhelmed. After two hours the food arrived...baked potatoes and fries were cold, one steak was completely cooked through, the other was clearly too small (maximum 180g instead of 250g) There was a second portion...the meat was raw! Both the quality of the food preparation and the service were a no go! At least the waitress apologized, which made the boss's attack of arrogance a little more bearable. At first there was talk of a discount on the bill - but then not... The problem was also noticeable at all neighboring tables. We definitely won't be coming back!

We spent a total of 3.5 hours in the store and waited over 2 hours for food. One person didn't get any food even after 3 hours! Our side salads came 1.5 hours earlier and were good, but the main courses were all terribly bad. Steaks raw! (Although ordered medium/well) Baked potato cold and old. Fries cold Burgers were either overcooked and cold or raw and cold. Despite the new owner's best efforts, it was an extremely lousy experience. The good thing: it was our last time there. Within a few weeks, the reputation/quality of a restaurant that had already existed for 10 years was destroyed. Too bad. Good luck and above all happiness.

The Nebraska burger was solid, delicious meat taste. The companion had ordered medium fillet. Unfortunately the meat wasn't anywhere near fillet format. It was thin and uneven in width. This meant that the cooking point was not even close to being reached; it was well done. Salads were forgotten and only came after we asked. Everything was done a bit carelessly. You quickly notice that this is about mass processing. The price is then too high for that. A good fillet can cost €50, but charging €35 for a bad one is absolutely unreasonable.

There were 8 of us there on a Friday afternoon. We weren't even served anything to welcome us before the main course, which was definitely served earlier. When we asked, we were told it was because of a lack of staff. Seriously, what kind of argument is that? The drinks order was also a disaster. Instead of our drinks coming at the same time, we got our drinks at different times after a long wait. When we wanted to place our order, two of us wanted this turkey steak, and we were told it was sold out. And that on a Friday at 5:30 p.m. Some of us decided to order something else. When our food arrived, four of us each got the wrong dish. We were only concerned with the bad service instead of having a nice evening with friends. In any case, it was the last time we went into this shop. The price/performance ratio is not right here. P.S The icing on the cake was that they charged over 15.00 euros for 2 bottles of water in a carafe of 0.7 l each. And they even charged for ketchup, even though they said it was included. The restaurant is quite large, so the staff rotates too. Convenient parking. But the quality of the food is not constant, sometimes the burgers are amazing, sometimes they are mediocre. I don’t recommend the bar either, the cocktails are very weak, the last time the Aperol was just colored water. It's a shame, with proper management the place could be much better

* There is one star because the meat was really good. BUT: We made a reservation based on the menu online. However, the prices are currently completely different than on the website. On average, all dishes are €6-8 more expensive. When we asked, we were assured that we would speak to the boss about it. We then learned that the website was last updated in 2020. We made a reservation for 6 p.m. on a Sunday. With the request for a quiet table. We were seated in the aisle next to a large family with 4 children under 3 years old. I have nothing against small children, don't get me wrong, but if you explicitly ask for a quiet table, you hope that you will get one. When we asked whether we could move, we were told (even though 3/4 of the tables were free) that we first had to see how many reservations were still outstanding. Nobody came back to give us an answer. We had to ask again if we could move. Then we were allowed to do that. There is a “drunk out” sticker stuck over the wines on the menu. This means there are hardly any wines listed on the menu. Unfortunately, after ordering, there was no greeting from the kitchen like the neighboring tables received. When we asked, we were told that it was OFF. At 6:30 p.m. on a Sunday evening. Please what's wrong here? The service person apologized several times and finally told us that the owner had changed "again" and nothing was going well. We were able to observe that too. The service staff went to the wrong tables several times. Unfortunately we are quite disappointed. Price performance is not right here. I hope it gets better soon. And a request to the new boss: update the website and get adequate wines that are also listed on a menu! If you don't carry the wines of your predecessors, offer a new, separate wine list. A “drunk” sticker doesn’t work at all.

This place should quickly ditch the name steakhouse. Ordered two fillet steaks and not one was cooked to the desired degree of doneness. Even after the complaint, a medium rare steak came instead of a medium rare one. The waiter tried very hard to please us and apologized several times, but the cook was just incompetent. The complaint was also passed on by the waiter to the boss, whereupon we were offered dessert. Which in my opinion wasn't realistic at all for this price range. Conclusion: Never again! Extremely annoying when you spend so much money on a piece of meat that is neither of good quality nor a competent chef to prepare it.

Dear Primcut team, We really enjoy eating at your place and often pick up food from you. You used to have disposable cardboard containers for transport. The fries and burgers stayed really crispy in there. In the new typical Styrofoam containers everything becomes completely mushy and loses a lot of quality. That's really a shame. We were there yesterday and unfortunately my visit was very disappointing. The table was not clean as there was leftover food under the table. The starter came after the main course and several sauces and ingredients were forgotten. The fries were mercilessly over-seasoned and inedible. The service was also very bad. Our waitress, who was a bit more sturdily built, was unfriendly and even discussed obvious facts. We also received the wrong drinks and had to wait two hours for our food without being informed. Overall it was a frustrating experience and unfortunately I cannot recommend this restaurant.

Waited 2 hours for food. Then a starter was missing. The steaks were far from medium rare and just lukewarm. Some side dishes were completely missing and were then delivered lukewarm. For the price the whole thing was a failure. We won't go there anymore.

I have eaten at this restaurant several times on various occasions. Basically, what comes out of the kitchen depends somewhat on the day, but it's usually of really good quality. Unfortunately, despite having a reservation, you often end up queuing for minutes until the table you actually reserved is assigned. As a rule, you then need the full time slot of 2 hours for the visit. I've actually never waited less than 45 minutes for the food after ordering. Today, as I type these lines, it took 1:30 hours until the food was served to us. Unfortunately, that's what happened to some guests. Obvious chaos in the kitchen, a lot of overwhelmed staff at the table, you couldn't count how many dishes were broken. Maybe you should pay more attention to only allowing as many bookings as the staff, which obviously consists largely of temporary workers, can manage. For steak lovers it is certainly still the only real place to go in Giessen. Overall, I personally have to say that the Primecut is not the top recommendation. It's just big and furnished to a very high standard. At the same time it's still very tight because everything is close to you, which as a guest I find extremely uncomfortable. Just because of the background noise. At least that applies to peak times on weekends and public holidays. Due to the really high prices, you have to say that this is actually an imposition. Personally, I will avoid it in the future and only accept invitations that I have no influence over. Unfortunately, in the past 2 years, this wasn't the first visit that was completely disappointing.

It used to be a top shop. We were there for the penultimate time on July 7th, 2024 and it was unacceptable how long we waited for the food and drinks. Unfortunately, for the money, the meat wasn't as great as it used to be. Given another chance on February 2, 2025 and conclusion. We waited 140 minutes for food and 30-40 minutes for drinks, during which time we heard several plates and glasses clinking because the waitresses were overwhelmed and dropped them all. Conclusion without eating, got up after 140 minutes and canceled food. Before and after us, a number of people stood up and complained and some left with us. Never again.

Disappointing and disgraceful – never again! We had reserved a table at PrimeCut for Tuesday at 8 p.m. and arrived on time - only to find an endless line outside the restaurant. Apparently the tables were double occupied or the entire reservation system is pure chaos. Why accept reservations at all if you don't have the capacity? Pure greed or simply poor organization – both are completely unacceptable in a supposedly “five star” restaurant. Of course we left immediately, because I won't tolerate such insolence. PrimeCut will never see me again. Disaster!

I was a regular from the start and always enjoyed it there. Unfortunately, things kept getting worse. Today was my last visit, which I very much regret. I came for lunch. No greeting as usual. We were the only guests! The cook!! showed us where we could sit. After a short while, the waitress came and told us that from now on there would no longer be the regular lunch menu. You could only choose from one menu! Alternatively, steaks. (Filet and rib eye) is what we decided on. Because I don't have to go to Primecut to eat spaghetti. After taking the order, it took about 20 minutes until the salad was served. No greeting from the kitchen beforehand, as usual. Shortly after the salad came, the main course arrived. This one was wrong. So back again and new. My fillet was supposed to be medium well and was fried to death. So back again... I had to wait another whole 20 minutes for my food. This time it was fried okay. As an apology we were given some kind of chocolate mousse, which was okay, but a finished product. In general, the quality of the food and also the taste have deteriorated significantly. What was also very disturbing was the young lady in a jogging look who was constantly running around everywhere and telling the staff what else they had to do. Many guests are expected in the evening for "Valentine's Day". So something like that is not appropriate while guests are there. Tables were carried around etc. The waitress had to take care of everything from the lunch business on her own and was visibly overwhelmed, but she made her best effort. In my opinion, the Primecut won't survive much longer. Regular guests, in particular, will be lost.

Today on Valentine's Day we reserved a table at 8:00 p.m. After 15 minutes in line, we finally got our turn and were given a table between two other individual tables, which was extremely squashed. Enttäuschend und unverschämt – nie wieder! Wir hatten für Dienstag um 20 Uhr einen Tisch bei PrimeCut reserviert und kamen pünktlich an – nur um eine endlose Schlange vor dem Restaurant vorzufinden. Offenbar waren die Tische doppelt belegt oder das gesamte Reservierungssystem ist ein reines Chaos. Warum überhaupt Reservierungen annehmen, wenn man nicht die Kapazitäten hat? Pure Geldgier oder einfach schlechte Organisation – beides ist in einem angeblich “fünf Sterne” Restaurant völlig inakzeptabel. Wir sind natürlich sofort gegangen, denn eine solche Unverschämtheit lasse ich mir nicht bieten. PrimeCut sieht mich nie wieder. Katastrophe!

The steak knives are extremely dull, service wasn’t great as we had to wave down the waitress numerous times for drinks or even all the sauces that we ordered but they forgot to give to us. New Year's Eve here was a failure. My oven potato was overcooked and watery. My fillet had fibers, how does that work? The toilets were dirty. The worst thing was a waiter who came to our table in a really rude manner and said the next guests were already waiting. Is there a more polite way to do that?! I didn't know that reservations were only made until 8 p.m. My friend made the reservation but that was so rude, you could say it in a nicer way. I had bought a bottle of wine that was still half full and my wine glass was still completely full! I've never experienced anything like this, never again in this mass processing "restaurant"! Beautiful is something different. If only I hadn't tipped so much. I'm really mad! 😡

Amazing steaks with decent prices, served with very good salad (of your choice) and fries/potatoes and super good garlic bread. Big choice of drinks, including non alcoholic - I had virgin hugo and it was delicious and beautifully served. I will come back if I'm ever around. Strongly recommended!

The food was delicious and the service staff seemed competent and courteous. The ambience was thematically appropriate, giving you the impression of sitting in a real steakhouse. Nevertheless, the prices for the portion sizes were very steep. For around €45 per person, the amount of meat seemed a bit small. If you want to spend a nice evening and are willing to spend more money, this is the right place for you.

We (4 boys aged 16-18) were at the Primecut restaurant about 2 weeks ago. First of all...the food and ambience were great in contrast to the service! It was underground, so to speak. We were made to wait for an extremely long time and guests who came later than us were given priority in terms of service, etc. Probably 4 very young men without a Porsche or something similar don't look like they need to be served in the same way as other clientele with, for example, the above-mentioned vehicle equipment or outfit . It's a shame that this very poor behavior from the restaurant is completely in contrast to the good quality of the food and ambience! Of course, we couldn't keep this to ourselves and we also reported it to our families. At school they would say “poor”. In the end, they were very happy to take our money (we had bills of over 50 to 80 euros per person). Something like that shouldn't actually happen!

Very large and well-kept American-style steakhouse. Friendly staff and good service. The drinks and food come just right, you don't have to wait too long but not everything is rushed either, so it's very good and you have a nice and cozy evening. The Nebraska Rib-Eye is great, perfectly done. The grilled skewers as a starter are tender as butter and come with a delicious BBQ sauce. The wine selection is good and suitable for every budget. There are enough parking spaces at the restaurant despite the adjacent hotel. A reservation for a table is recommended. The service is quick and friendly. However, after the drinks and food have been served, you will no longer be noticed to place further drink or dessert orders. The burgers were fresh, the beef patty was juicy, well cooked and well topped with toppings and sauces. The French Fries were hot and crispy. Overall the food was delicious. The prices are more in the upper price segment.

First you wait forever for your food, then it's still cold when it's handed over. Plus, the Lieferando app says that my pizza arrived three quarters of an hour earlier? Something is going wrong. It's a shame because the food was actually always good! 2€ delivery costs are ridiculous with this miserable service.
