Food is good, staff is very slow. I waited about 20 minutes to order. No one came, so I left. -1 customer

I visited the Pommes Freunde branch in Passau and had very mixed feelings. First, the positives: The service staff is truly outstanding and would have deserved full marks on its own! The employees are extremely friendly, attentive, and work with absolute professionalism. Furthermore, the entire restaurant is very tidy and clean, which I found very appealing. The speed of preparation was also impressive – my food was ready in no time. So why only 3 stars? Unfortunately, it's due to the pricing. The prices are relatively high compared to what you ultimately receive. In my opinion, the price-performance ratio simply isn't quite right for a quick snack. While the team on-site does a 5-star job, the pricing policy unfortunately leaves a bad taste in the mouth and results in a deduction in the overall rating.

Delicious food, no complications, simply great and fast, even when everything else is full!

I usually come for a bite to eat on Wednesdays. A blonde lady and the girl with the piercing always work there. They're both super nice every time. Really great! The burgers and fries are very, very tasty. You absolutely have to try the chili cheese fries, they taste amazing!

There's a shortage of cleaning staff. The place is small. I think the fries were the last thing they gave me there; you'll see in the photos.

The server was too busy staring at her phone to bring me my fries (I ended up not getting any) 😔. Plus, the music was annoying.

Truly one of the best fast food restaurants I've ever seen. You really have to go there because the food is just too good.

After five minutes at the checkout, we were completely ignored by the remarkably slow and unenthusiastic staff. We left without ordering. Management should urgently get rid of these unmotivated employees. The worst staff I have ever seen in my 55 years of life.

The restaurant is beautifully decorated! The food was also prepared quickly, fresh, and delicious. 😁 The blonde employee was very polite and prepared everything quickly and without any problems. I will definitely come back more often! 😆

Ordered fries and waited 20 minutes, all the burgers were gone before 9 pm, and everything was incredibly slow. The staff seemed overwhelmed and very slow.

The food was amazing, the dips were great too, and the cocktail sauce was incredible. Plus, the server was so friendly and always smiled, even when I said something stupid and didn't understand myself. The person at the register was blonde and very nice. I'll definitely be back.

We ordered for around €70 and were unfortunately very disappointed. The meat in the burgers was really dry, the bacon was cooked all the way through, and the sweet potato fries had an unpleasant, indefinable aftertaste. Overall, the quality of the food seemed rather substandard. For this price, we would have expected considerably more. And when we asked about it, we received only a laconic, simple apology.

It was my first time there. Currywurst with fries. The sauce was very good, the sausage was roughly cut and lukewarm. The fries were a bit hotter, not crispy. You had to go outside to the Löwenbräu restroom to use the restroom. It was a very small, separate restroom, not exactly exciting.

The shop looks very cozy from the outside and is very nicely decorated. As soon as I ordered, I felt like leaving. The atmosphere and service were abysmal. The employee took her frustration out on the patties and buns and assembled the burgers with equal enthusiasm. The veggie burger was delicious, and the sweet potato fries were also quite okay. Unfortunately, I didn't feel at all comfortable in the shop and won't be eating there again.

I've rarely experienced such unmotivated, unfriendly, and bad-tempered staff. A lady who threw the burgers together and let her bad mood show should be working a job where she doesn't have contact with customers. The buns were aggressively thrown into the toaster, and the patties were also thrown onto the grill. As she threw them, she got some cooking grease on her fingers and cursed loudly. We felt very uncomfortable in this shop and were very glad when we could finally leave. We won't be visiting the store again. Conclusion: I don't recommend this shop.

They are a little slower but they make really good food. I can highly recommend the Currywurst Hotdog. The free sauces are also nice

We were there yesterday with four people (2 children, 2 adults) for lunch. We each had fries (sweet potato and regular), a kids' box with vegetarian nuggets, and the vegan currywurst. The food itself was delicious, and it was also worth mentioning that they offer a variety of free sauces for refills – I hate having to constantly ask for ketchup and the like – so it was very good in that respect. I paid about €6 for the kids' box with fries and nuggets, and about €12 for my sweet potato with currywurst (I would have had a double currywurst, although that should have been a normal portion for me based on the size) – which I found quite expensive for the type of food, as it wasn't anything special. What bothered us most, however, was the fact that we had to move three times. There are a lot of wasps outside when the weather is nice. Of course, there's not much you can do about it, but there were still plenty of trays of leftover food on the tables, which naturally attracts the bugs. And inside, two large air conditioners blow directly onto your seats, so no matter where you sit, you're hit by an icy wind. That's extremely unpleasant and, in my opinion, completely unacceptable.

A very nice place for lunch. The staff is friendly and the food was delicious. Definitely worth eating here. There's also a free sauce for the fries—about six different sauces. This is definitely recommended.

Beautiful beer garden with excellent service. Unfortunately, there are a lot of wasps, but that's okay. It's a lovely place to spend a wonderful time with cold drinks and good food.

The burgers are all good, no question. The fries there are also really tasty. But the service team there is completely disorganized and overwhelmed. We've been there several times, and often something was forgotten in our order. Employees argue behind the counter, and for what's supposed to be a "fast-food restaurant" feel, it's anything but fast and unprofessional. Even MCs has a better reputation. You wait an average of 20 minutes for your order.

The staff were very rude. We were almost finished with our food when a young man with brown hair came over and said he had to clear up and we should go inside to eat. It wasn't even 7:30. Instead of waiting the 5 minutes we needed to finish our food, they chose to do so. Especially since they don't close until 8:00. After we had finished eating (inside), the young man hadn't even finished clearing up. We wouldn't have sat there for an hour. We only had half a tray of fries between the two of us. Very annoying, since no restaurant sends customers elsewhere, especially when they don't close for another 40 minutes.

The restaurant is actually quite nice, and since I often go to Pommes Freunde in Munich's central bus station, I was expecting good food, but unfortunately, the reality was cold fries and a raw burger. Well, I didn't think it was that great :/

Please (!) train your staff! I was horrified to watch the staff clear the tables between food preparations, throw leftovers in the trash, or get food from the storage room, all without changing their gloves once (!!). Ugh! Then people/friends from outside would simply come behind the counter where the food was being prepared. They'd get hugs, a quick brush of their hair from their faces, and a scratch of their noses – also with the same gloves! And then the next patty would be placed on the burger... unbelievable. On top of that, the place was dirty, and the tables probably hadn't seen a rag in a while... Of course, I didn't eat anything.

I visited the Passau branch in November 2024. You can order at the checkout or via touchscreen terminals, similar to McDonald's. However, the preparation took noticeably longer, at least in our case. I liked that you can choose between different types of fries. In addition to regular thin fries, there are also thick fries, sweet potato fries, and fries with chili and/or cheese sauce. They also have hot dogs on the menu. They also have a variety of burgers, which weren't bad, but too expensive for me. So, Pommesfreunde is neither a fast-food competitor to McDonald's, as it's too expensive and too slow, but it's also not a proper burger joint, as the burgers didn't really impress me in terms of taste (especially for the price).

I was at my boyfriend's for a drink, and we finished off by munching on some more French fries. He told me he might have thrown up from the French fries or the movie (he's delusional). The ordering terminals are broken, but you're only informed of this after asking. So, the entire order for three people has to be repeated verbally. Apparently, the sausage cutter isn't working properly at Käsekrainer. So, only a third of the sausage was received, as the rest got stuck in the machine. It was simply covered with fries to avoid spillage.

This place is absolutely unhygienic! The staff are just as bad – they cough and sneeze into their hands and then get to work making your burger without cleaning them. No one washes their hands after handling money either. Never again!!

The technology doesn't work anyway. But of course you only find out when you ask, after you've already wasted your time. It's also a disgrace that they immediately demand a 5% tip. The service leaves a lot to be desired. The workers don't look like they enjoy working there. The machines they use to cut the sausage also didn't seem to be working properly. Half of it got stuck inside, and the workers just slapped fries on top and acted like nothing had happened, even though there was barely more than half the sausage in the food. Overpriced and not really that good quality. I won't be going back.

The burger was juicy and tasty, along with thick fries (thin ones are also available), and a large selection of free sauces in various flavors. There could have been more fries; mine also had a lot of small ones... Unfortunately, both terminals didn't work because the order was in the system and couldn't be canceled. Unfortunately, the final prices are only partially visible; it says "Burgers from x €" The staff also seemed lost, but friendly. There's room for improvement, but it's OK for a fast food joint.

Ordering through PC Stadion was unusual, but straightforward. The food was prepared quickly and freshly.

Visited the French fries for the first time today. We ordered via the self-service portal. Unfortunately, it is not possible to cancel certain ingredients or order extra sauces, for example. There was also no receipt at the end. I then told the lady behind the counter that I didn't want jalapenos, which was unfortunately a bit difficult due to the employee's difficulty understanding the language, but it worked. We had loaded fries twice. The taste was very good. We had 8 wooden forks on the tray for two people. Tables and floors are dirty, but the two employees were busy with their cell phones during idle time.

Unfortunately it's not worth ordering there! We got 2 loveless unfinished burgers. The sauce, tomatoes and lettuce were completely missing. I've never seen burgers like this before. Also completely overpriced for this inferior quality. The fries were floury and undercooked. The food was cold and the delivery took extremely long. We will never order there again. Too bad for the money!

The restaurant still has a few staffing problems, but the employees they already have are absolutely friendly and accommodating. The food also tasted great. The quality of the beef would be a bit better than at Hans im Glück.

I know that Fries Friends can't get particularly good reviews at other locations. This one is an absolute exception. Although not particularly cheap, our children absolutely love the fries, the burgers and the large selection of sauces. They said they had their best burger of their life. Only the ambience leaves something to be desired. The store is very small and the seating is tight. This is also known from other fast and street food shops, but I still don't want to leave it unmentioned.

The cashier put my change into his own pocket without asking me if it was a tip.

I ordered today and 1 month ago. The order never arrived complete! When I first ordered, the cheese sauce had completely leaked out of the bag and the cola was missing. The currywurst was missing from the second order today. Which is quite funny because I wrote a note on lieferando that you should please make sure that the delivery is complete. This is a complete joke, I feel ripped off that I had to laugh during the phone call.

My girlfriend and I were here this week and both ordered burgers and fries. Her burger tasted absolutely nothing, and mine was just soggy and looked really old. The cashier was incredibly rude to the customers, and we had diarrhea and vomiting for two weeks afterward. I think it's just way too expensive for what tasted like nothing. The poor cows, I have to say.

Interesting concept. Not particularly cheap in terms of price, but within reason. Quality is really good. The chili cheeseburger fries were very convincing. The currywurst sauce was also spot on.

The female employee with short hair was very kind. Thanks to her, I had a great time. The burger was delicious, and the cheese, in particular, was fantastic!

We wanted to go out to dinner as a whole family before going to the cinema. A gentleman and two ladies from the staff behind the counter in a private conversation. There was no service, greeting or reaction to our visit, even though we stood there for 10 minutes and spoke to the gentlemen. It's a shame, maybe it won't last long...

We've been to the restaurant almost regularly so far and were actually satisfied, but the last few times things have gone downhill. The burgers don't taste good and have become more expensive after the last change. They are now called Smash Burgers and the burger only has cheese except meat. The interior is not well ventilated and you smell strongly of food afterwards and it is cold in winter. Price/performance is no longer good and I had a stomach ache because everything burger was so greasy. Hope it gets better again like it was at the beginning. The staff was nice but if there are several customers you have to wait forever for your order.

Went here for dinner for the first time today. We had fries, cheese sausage, sweet potato fries, burgers The store is in a great location. The staff was friendly but not very motivated; apart from one person, no one invented working here. I find it very borderline when friends of employees hang over the counter and private conversations are more important than working cleanly and quickly. Like the cleanliness/order behind the counter is borderline. To eat: Fries & Cheese Sausage: Fries were lukewarm and the sausage was good. Burger & Fries: Fries would have needed a little more time (they were cold!) the burger was very boring for the money. The sweet potato fries were soggy. There is a lot of potential for improvement here.

I guess I had a bit of bad luck today. On my first visit to Friesfriends there was only one somewhat overwhelmed employee behind the counter. But he was hard-working and friendly. He made minor mistakes with other guests, but they were forgiven. It can happen and it worked well for me. It still took some time until I got the food. Bacon cheeseburger in the menu. There are many menus, currywurst and fries with interesting sauces. Unfortunately the room was not heated enough. The fries are available in thick, thin and sweet potato. Unfortunately, my “thin friends” were not salted or not salted enough. The burger bun was visually great, fluffy, slightly sweet, very good! The meat is juicy, slightly roasted, good consistency and very tasty! The bacon was particularly good!! Lots of flavor and crispy and not too thin. The cheese had flavor and was perfectly melted. There are also cucumbers in it and they go very well with it and have a really good taste. Not too much acid. Burger doesn't juice until the end!! I really enjoyed it and will come again.

I just ordered a vegan currywurst and of course it came without sauce. Of course, there was more talking than working. Highly recommended.

Unfortunately the quality has deteriorated significantly. A year ago I ate at Friesfreunde several times a week and was really addicted to it. But unfortunately today it doesn't taste good anymore. The cheeseburgers used to have more ingredients like tomatoes and lettuce, now just patty and cheese. Unfortunately, it has happened too often that either the patties were too salty or the fries. That's why I don't visit the store anymore. What a shame!

I was absolutely disappointed! The fries themselves weren't bad. But half a minute longer in the hot fat wouldn't have hurt! The currywurst was so shredded by the machine that you could hardly tell that it was a sausage. The staff could hardly speak German. Were also completely disorganized. We had to wait a very long time for our food. And to be honest, I think it's way too expensive for the poor quality! In addition, it is very messy overall and not particularly clean for the most part. And that was just under 1.5 hours after the store opened. We definitely won't go there again!

Absolutely disappointing!! Two months ago the burgers were perfectly prepared: with lettuce, tomatoes, fried onions and pickles. Everything your heart desires. Now the burgers cost the same and the staff isn't even able to put cheese and meat between the buns. The cheese is cold, as are the fries and you have to wait 40 minutes for them. How can that be?! Please train your staff first before letting them loose on customers. All in all: an unreasonable expectation for the customer and a total waste of money.

Food was always good before but unfortunately not for eating now. Raw meat in burgers. You're constantly on your cell phone at the checkout, no interest in the customers at all.

The food in this store was really a disaster. I was there with my brother and his girlfriend on September 15th, 2024 at 6:00 p.m. and it was absolute chaos. We waited about 45 minutes for a burger + fries, normal fries + nuggets and chilli cheese fries. If we hadn't made the staff aware of this, they would have completely forgotten about the chilli cheese fries. And if the food had at least been good, half of the fries were burnt and the rest was almost cold. The burger was incomplete, tomatoes and lettuce were missing and the patty was barely existent. It seemed like they brought in 2 interns on the first day because they didn't have any other staff. At least the price was right, but we were still hungry afterwards. We will definitely NOT be coming back!

Bad and lazy staff. 2 of our 3 burgers were not the right ones that we ordered. When this was corrected, the extra requests were still missing (extra bacon and fried onions) and they had also forgotten our drink We had to wait forever because the two men were just talking and on their cell phones. All in all you can't complain. There were three of us eating, each a menu with fries and a drink and we paid around €40. The food was sufficient and tasted perfect. Two very friendly counter staff served us.

The shop opens at eleven o'clock. We were there at 2:50 p.m. However, the shop looked like it had been open since 11 p.m.... Countless fries on the floor, tables outside not clean. 2 of 7 sauces empty. Anything but appealing and above all… where is a customer toilet?

Fries were really ok. What you can expect after waiting 15 minutes. Unfortunately the place is dingy like a harbor canteen. The staff seems to be visibly overwhelmed with a handful of customers.

I had currywurst with fries and cola. The only thing that was really fresh was the cola. The sausage was not freshly made, dry and cold. Fries were also not freshly made. Paid almost €11. For the same money I get freshly made goods. Never again!!

Burgers are okay, not exceptionally good, but solidly tasty. Prices are okay for burgers. I like the different sauces for refilling. Last time I tried fancy loaded fries, they were really overpriced and just bad. A dollop of sauce, a few pieces of bacon and a few spring onions are simply not enough. It was tasteless and this time even the fries were limp. The concept is not bad, but there is still room for improvement in the implementation.

For a shop called Fries Friends. The fries should be fresh, crispy and warm. Unfortunately this was not the case. The staff is very friendly, but falls asleep while putting stickers on the boxes.

We only received 2 of 4 parts of the order right away. When asked, the rest. Unfortunately, it wasn't correct either. Service very bad. Slow.

Always a treat whether sober or drunk. Update 06/10/24: Unfortunately it has decreased significantly I used to go there every 1-2 weeks. The burgers were just okay back then. So much sauce and, above all, dripping with fat that the last bites were really borderline bad. (But there are probably people who like it that way too). The highlight (as the restaurant name suggests) was definitely the fries. They were simply great. Unfortunately, they have somehow forgotten how to prepare them. Even the thin fries were suddenly no longer crispy, but simply soggy and not really cooked through. Significantly too short in the deep fryer. I did this to myself three times (because I thought I was probably just unlucky), but since it was always the same, I preferred to go somewhere else. After about 6 months I gave them another chance, but unfortunately I was disappointed again. Another over-fatty burger and fries that really didn't do justice to the name Fries Friends. In addition, when I visited, two tables were occupied and almost all of the free ones were either dirty or full of trash from previous guests. During my entire visit (about 15 minutes), none of the employees had the idea to go through the (relatively small anyway) restaurant, wipe down and tidy up. Even though there were 3 of you and maybe 3 people came in during that time, most of them (except for the guy at the grill) just stood at the counter bored and chatted or looked at their cell phones. ...I just want great fries (the product that Fries Friends actually stands for) and I don't have to eat them in a garbage dump... :( (at least outside of rush hour) Fries Friends used to be my No. 1 system restaurant. Whether that Of course, I can't judge the restaurant/shift management for failing to train their people properly or they're just unlucky and the employees aren't interested (deep-frying isn't actually that difficult and normally you should notice it at some point if you do it regularly and for a long time /temperature not quite right)

Unfortunately our food was cold and we had to wait far too long. Chicken meat was completely dry and inedible. Not recommended.

I've been sitting and waiting for my burger for 20 minutes. There are only 2 employees working. In front of me there are 7 other people waiting for their food. So it's unbelievable, outrageous and unprofessional. The tables are smeared and greasy. Too few employees were scheduled for the lunch business. There is a negative rating for this and I hope you improve.

Staff seemed uncoordinated, listless and preferred to take smoke breaks rather than serve customers and get orders ready as quickly as possible. In my opinion, you can expect from a fast food chain that you don't have to wait 15 minutes for a portion of fries and that the selection of sauces on offer is also available. So after waiting more than 15 minutes for my fries, I had to point out to the staff that all the sauce dispensers were empty, and they were also pretty dirty. The fries were also undercooked, almost unsalted and simply not good for the price. Not recommended! It's a shame, I used to enjoy visiting FriesFreunde in Passau.

From now on fries and I are really friends!! This is the best fast food restaurant I have personally ever visited! Compared to the well-known McDonald's,French Fries has exceeded all expectations! With great service and delicious dishes, I can say that I will be visiting much more often!

Would not go again. Overpriced and they make additional money by serving small portions. I paid 14 with drink for a small cup of currywurst and a few fries. For 14 euros you can expect way more!

Overpriced currywurst that doesn't taste good! Sausage not cooked through, fries not crispy (sweet potato fries instead of normal ones cost €2.50 extra!!) Drinks warm and really not drinkable! Bottle deposits are charged and yet they simply collect the bottles again and there is no indication that one has been charged! There are 4 employees, only one is working and the other 3 are sitting comfortably in the back and chatting while the line gets longer and longer. We waited 20 minutes for some fries 🤪

I think the hamburger and fries are really great. Tastes great. Would recommend to anyone. The prices are okay too.

We ate here today, a BBQ and a hut burger, with sweet potato fries. And we agreed that they were by far the best burgers we've had in a long time, if not the best ever. MEGA DELICIOUS, especially the meat. The price of just under €9 per burger is absolutely fine. The selection of sauces is great, there is something for every taste. The service was also very friendly and attentive. We would love to come back and can only recommend French fries to friends in Passau.

The employee at the checkout on March 11, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. deliberately threw my change into the tip container. That was 2 euros. Without asking and without giving me any change.
