Highly recommended! Cozy atmosphere and good food. Reservations are advisable, even during the week, as it's very popular.

Some of the staff were unfriendly. We were sent from table to table. Poor communication among the staff. An irritated employee spoke loudly to a colleague in her native language, drawing the attention of all the guests.

The pasta gratin with salmon was without spinach! But that's what it said on the menu! When we pointed this out, all we got was a smiling, "I'm sorry, I'll pass it on to the kitchen..."... They could have at least put a bottle of wine on the house for my mother, but nothing! That's pathetic; we had to pay full price! That's completely unacceptable! I order something and don't get it! And there's no compensation! That's outrageous!

The food is delicious and the plates are professionally presented. However, the milkshakes are a bit pricey. They're very small at €5.90. The waitresses were always on top of things and were concerned about any mess.

You can't go wrong with a visit to Podium. The service is very friendly, and the food selection is very diverse. For me, who occasionally stays in Gera, Podium is always a good choice.

This restaurant offers excellent value for money in most respects. The service is very friendly, and the wait times are reasonable. Unfortunately, most drinks are only available up to 0.33 liters. Furthermore, the AI that handles reservations definitely needs to be improved! The time and date are almost always recorded correctly only after the second call.

Eight of us went to Podium for dinner and were very satisfied. The service was friendly and attentive. The homemade lemonades are highly recommended, and the beer selection is extensive. Everyone enjoyed the food. The kitchen is very efficient, as we didn't have to wait long. We had a nice outdoor seating area, although there was quite a lot of smoking. Podium is highly recommended!

I used to love Podium. My last visit, however, wasn't so great. The steak was completely bloody and tough, the pasta seemed to be covered in a cup of cream. The tomato soup was delicious. Hopefully, it was just a bad day; we'll be back anyway and look forward to the old standards.

The staff seemed bored and lacked emotion. Neither of us thought the food was very good. Rump steak with a few fries and grilled vegetables was slapped onto the plate very carelessly. The fries weren't tasty at all, and the grilled vegetables seemed to be covered in oil. There's not much to complain about with the meat; it was good. Still, a very bad experience, and not at all justified for the price. That was our last time at Podium.

The staff is very attentive and friendly, within the limits of their capabilities (they are completely understaffed). The menu focuses largely on home-style cooking, and they're good at it. When things get international (curry with chicken), it ends up being a complete disaster in terms of taste.

The food was mediocre for the price. Small portions. The children's dish, 'spaghetti with tomato sauce,' was 'spaghetti with tomato paste and water.' The service was very poor. Not even a 'Bon appétit' when our plates were placed on the table. Every question about the dishes on the menu was met with a shrug and a "I can't comment on that." The restaurant is very loud, and table conversation was difficult. I rarely complain and try to see the positive side, but if you run your restaurant like this, you have no respect for your guests or for yourself as a host.

We've been coming here for years whenever we're in Gera. The food is good, and the value is good. I honestly miss the dishes from the past (I loved the Bolognese casserole - where did it go? 😭), but the food is really good at fair prices. It's cozy, and the outdoor seating is also very nice.

Beautiful ambiance and friendly service, very fast and courteous. Huge selection of dishes. The flavors are rather restrained, with no outliers among the traditional dishes (roulade, goulash). The red cabbage and dumplings are excellent.

If you want to eat a huge pizza quickly, this is the place for you.

Found by chance on Google Maps, we were happy to find a good restaurant on a Monday where I couldn't just get a simple snack on my birthday. I didn't know the Thuringian mustard schnitzel before. It was delicious! 😋🥰 We will definitely come back on our next visit to Gera. Thank you very much!

A very nice restaurant. We happened to be here for dinner while on a bike trip and caught Burger Day. So there was also a delicious burger and delicious drinks. The staff were also very friendly and happy to host. We felt very comfortable there on floor 1.

Super hier gehe ich gern immer wieder hin. Heute hatte ich ein Usertreffen,und die Beiden waren auch begeistert. Kleine Kritik:Die Schwenktüre zu den Toiletten ist für Nichtstehende recht gefährlich mit dem Schwenkmechanismus.Wenn die mit dem Langstab arbeiten,nicht darauf gefaßt sind daß die Türe zurückschwenkt ist doch schon eine Verletzungsquelle gegenwärtig.

Service is excellent. The food is mediocre - the french fries and potato wedges are not made with fresh potatoes. They are from a frozen bag (in this part of Germany 🇩🇪 cutting fresh potatoes and serving them to customers is yet unheard of). The seasonal menu is out of season because the asparagus is served in March and early April when they still grow under plastic and taste like water. The sauces are powders mixed with water (typical German "cuisine") and supermarket type salad " sauces". Mushroom condiments are made with fresh mushrooms and are hence better than sauces but taste wise they are average. There is only one dessert which is not bad but it won't blast you out of your chair (it is a pop in the microwave round chocolate cake with runny chocolate inside and a ball of "vanilla" ice cream). The venue is clean and pleasant but there is no music so you basically listen to other diners who are drunk or about to get drunk or (more often than not) are pretending to be drunk. The local beer is average (not remotely as good as craft beers sold in Czechia 🇨🇿 and Poland 🇵🇱). And yes, have cash at hand unless you are one of the lucky few that still carries an EC karte. Anyway Gera is a mid sized town in the former East Germany so adjust your expectations accordingly.

Hier kann man Sonntagmittag ganz entspannt essen und trinken, um den Alltagsstress der Woche mal zu entfliehen. Tolle Speisenangebote und lecker sind die auch, hier ist für jeden Geschmack was dabei ( wer was zu meckern hat sollte dann zu Mc Donald gehen). Großes Lob für die Mitarbeiter vom Service und besonders für das gesamte Küchenteam.

We visited on a Saturday afternoon and spontaneously got a table with a time limit, which is perfectly acceptable. The price is reasonable. The service is very friendly and pleasantly attentive. In terms of taste, I can only rate my cordon bleu, which could have used a bit more seasoning and could have been a bit more filling. Nevertheless, I think the Podium is definitely worth a visit. The small but nice play area for children was, and still is, excellent.

5 stars - A great visit to the podium! Today I had dinner at Podium in Gera with my girlfriend for my 19th birthday and it was a great visit! My Argentinian rump steak was incredibly juicy and delicious. The service was also great – our waitress was super nice and attentive. All in all it was a perfect meal. I would recommend Podium to anyone looking for a great dining experience. We'll definitely be back!

5 Sterne - Ein toller Besuch im Podium! Heute habe ich mit meiner Freundin zu meinem 19. Geburtstag im Podium in Gera gegessen und es war ein großartiger Besuch! Mein argentinisches Rumpsteak war unglaublich saftig und lecker. Die Bedienung war ebenfalls top – unsere Kellnerin war super nett und aufmerksam. Alles in allem war es ein perfektes Essen. Ich kann das Podium jedem weiterempfehlen, der nach einem tollen kulinarischen Erlebnis sucht. Wir kommen definitiv wieder!

Very pleasant atmosphere. Food tastes good. The prices have adjusted over time, but are still within limits... it shouldn't get more expensive. For two people we paid just under €50 including food and drink.

1st Christmas Day The restaurant is very loud, and large families let their small children run around the restaurant screaming and the staff don't say anything. The food wasn't really hot. The restaurant is certainly a good choice during the day, but not for a nice dinner. In addition to the usual food, there is also a large selection of burgers.

We're always drawn here, whether it's mulled wine at the Christmas market in Gera on our doorstep or, like today, to have a relaxed lunch with my wife. Getting a seat at lunchtime was no problem this time either. The food was quick and again very tasty. I really enjoyed the homemade lemonades.

We were here for the 40th class reunion. The service was very friendly and remained so until the end, even though we weren't an easy bunch. The food is delicious. Here you can find vegetarian dishes as well as dishes for meat eaters. Highly recommended.

I highly recommend it, we went here for 2 weeks as a school for dinner and there was a really large selection, a wide range of specialties, always tasty, especially if you didn't have room in your stomach, so they could pack it for you. The lunch menu is priced accordingly and varied. It is very busy and used by many guests. The outdoor dining is very well received by guests. The service staff is very attentive and very hardworking. As a critical comment, I would like to say that there is still a lot of room for improvement in the way the food is presented. If the meal combination is appropriate and cocktail tomatoes and rocket are included, the chef should use them as a highlight. The eye eats too. All in is not always modern.

Price-performance ratio, service and ambience are top. I'm at the podium very often, it's my absolute favorite restaurant in Gera. The menu is very extensive and the food is always tasty. The service staff is friendly and very quick. The ambience of the restaurant is very appealing and distinctive.
