Wir konnten dort einen schönen Abend verbringen! Lecker Essen, freundliche und aufmerksame Bedienung! Gerne wieder!

Reservierung hat super funktioniert. Die Bedienung war sehr nett und freundlich. Die selbstgemachte Limonade und das Essen war sehr lecker. Wir waren das erste Mal dort und waren positiv überrascht. Wir kommen sehr gern wieder.

Super hier gehe ich gern immer wieder hin. Heute hatte ich ein Usertreffen,und die Beiden waren auch begeistert. Kleine Kritik:Die Schwenktüre zu den Toiletten ist für Nichtstehende recht gefährlich mit dem Schwenkmechanismus.Wenn die mit dem Langstab arbeiten,nicht darauf gefaßt sind daß die Türe zurückschwenkt ist doch schon eine Verletzungsquelle gegenwärtig.

Service is excellent. The food is mediocre - the french fries and potato wedges are not made with fresh potatoes. They are from a frozen bag (in this part of Germany 🇩🇪 cutting fresh potatoes and serving them to customers is yet unheard of). The seasonal menu is out of season because the asparagus is served in March and early April when they still grow under plastic and taste like water. The sauces are powders mixed with water (typical German "cuisine") and supermarket type salad " sauces". Mushroom condiments are made with fresh mushrooms and are hence better than sauces but taste wise they are average. There is only one dessert which is not bad but it won't blast you out of your chair (it is a pop in the microwave round chocolate cake with runny chocolate inside and a ball of "vanilla" ice cream). The venue is clean and pleasant but there is no music so you basically listen to other diners who are drunk or about to get drunk or (more often than not) are pretending to be drunk. The local beer is average (not remotely as good as craft beers sold in Czechia 🇨🇿 and Poland 🇵🇱). And yes, have cash at hand unless you are one of the lucky few that still carries an EC karte. Anyway Gera is a mid sized town in the former East Germany so adjust your expectations accordingly.

The food is excellent here. There's plenty of space on two levels and outside. The service is very friendly and quick. Highly recommended. Great.

Hier kann man Sonntagmittag ganz entspannt essen und trinken, um den Alltagsstress der Woche mal zu entfliehen. Tolle Speisenangebote und lecker sind die auch, hier ist für jeden Geschmack was dabei ( wer was zu meckern hat sollte dann zu Mc Donald gehen). Großes Lob für die Mitarbeiter vom Service und besonders für das gesamte Küchenteam.

It is aehe very loud but the service is really nice and funny and the food is perfect. My rump steak was great on point.

We visited on a Saturday afternoon and spontaneously got a table with a time limit, which is perfectly acceptable. The price is reasonable. The service is very friendly and pleasantly attentive. In terms of taste, I can only rate my cordon bleu, which could have used a bit more seasoning and could have been a bit more filling. Nevertheless, I think the Podium is definitely worth a visit. The small but nice play area for children was, and still is, excellent.

5 stars - A great visit to the podium! Today I had dinner at Podium in Gera with my girlfriend for my 19th birthday and it was a great visit! My Argentinian rump steak was incredibly juicy and delicious. The service was also great – our waitress was super nice and attentive. All in all it was a perfect meal. I would recommend Podium to anyone looking for a great dining experience. We'll definitely be back!

5 Sterne - Ein toller Besuch im Podium! Heute habe ich mit meiner Freundin zu meinem 19. Geburtstag im Podium in Gera gegessen und es war ein großartiger Besuch! Mein argentinisches Rumpsteak war unglaublich saftig und lecker. Die Bedienung war ebenfalls top – unsere Kellnerin war super nett und aufmerksam. Alles in allem war es ein perfektes Essen. Ich kann das Podium jedem weiterempfehlen, der nach einem tollen kulinarischen Erlebnis sucht. Wir kommen definitiv wieder!

Food is good, the price is reasonable for the portions, service is always friendly and accommodating....very good staff!!!....it's just incomprehensible that no other payment is possible apart from EC payment and cash payment and that in today's world where you can pay everywhere with your smartphone, credit card and other things...there should definitely be an improvement

The trend is increasingly towards cashless payments, be it by credit card or via smartphone. Actually no longer appropriate for a spontaneous visit.

We always enjoy being there again. Whether private or business, the price-performance ratio is impeccable and the service is top.

Nice restaurant with delicious food

Very pleasant atmosphere. Food tastes good. The prices have adjusted over time, but are still within limits... it shouldn't get more expensive. For two people we paid just under €50 including food and drink.

The lumberjack schnitzel, the gypsy schnitzel on schnitzel day, and the Chrispy chicken burger are my favorite dishes. Fast and nice staff. In summer there are still outdoor spaces, in winter and autumn there is still indoor space on the upper level.

1st Christmas Day The restaurant is very loud, and large families let their small children run around the restaurant screaming and the staff don't say anything. The food wasn't really hot. The restaurant is certainly a good choice during the day, but not for a nice dinner. In addition to the usual food, there is also a large selection of burgers.

We're always drawn here, whether it's mulled wine at the Christmas market in Gera on our doorstep or, like today, to have a relaxed lunch with my wife. Getting a seat at lunchtime was no problem this time either. The food was quick and again very tasty. I really enjoyed the homemade lemonades.

Despite many guests, very nice and friendly, fast service. Unfortunately the main course came too early and we hadn't finished the warm starter yet.

My food - Thuringian dumplings, red cabbage and beef roulade - was incredibly tasty and, above all, plentiful. There was even an extra gravy boat without being asked😋. The service was extremely courteous and nice.

We were here for the 40th class reunion. The service was very friendly and remained so until the end, even though we weren't an easy bunch. The food is delicious. Here you can find vegetarian dishes as well as dishes for meat eaters. Highly recommended.

I highly recommend it, we went here for 2 weeks as a school for dinner and there was a really large selection, a wide range of specialties, always tasty, especially if you didn't have room in your stomach, so they could pack it for you. Just top for me! The service is very pleasant and they also serve in English.

The food itself was delicious, but we got the wrong order that was more expensive and the fact that you get a paper plate with aluminum foil as take-away packaging and paid 70 cents for it is really a scandal.

The lunch menu is priced accordingly and varied. It is very busy and used by many guests. The outdoor dining is very well received by guests. The service staff is very attentive and very hardworking. As a critical comment, I would like to say that there is still a lot of room for improvement in the way the food is presented. If the meal combination is appropriate and cocktail tomatoes and rocket are included, the chef should use them as a highlight. The eye eats too. All in is not always modern.

Price-performance ratio, service and ambience are top. I'm at the podium very often, it's my absolute favorite restaurant in Gera. The menu is very extensive and the food is always tasty. The service staff is friendly and very quick. The ambience of the restaurant is very appealing and distinctive.

The homemade lemonades at Podium are always a real highlight for me when I come to Gera. Not too sweet, refreshingly fruity and delicious. The schnitzel was tender and crispy, the fries were warm and the vegetables were crunchy. The price is also absolutely reasonable for the portion size. I look forward to my next visit!

We two girls meet regularly and test the restaurants in Gera every now and then... We haven't been here for a long time and unfortunately we won't be coming back anytime soon... In itself, the ambience (we sat outside) is quite suitable for city life, and the outside area is also completely barrier-free, great 👍🏻 Unfortunately the girls from the service are really bad, sorry… They seem bored, sometimes even annoyed, then we weren't told at first that only the small menu is valid between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. I also think it's suboptimal, but well then, with the small selection, everything should be okay with the food be, unfortunately not that either... It just looked unloving, the side salad is ridiculous and unfortunately the schnitzel was too dry (because it was in the oil for too long (even the champis couldn't completely hide the dark... Considering the quantity and the very good price, you can't say that it's 100% right... With a little more love for the food, it will certainly be better, but unfortunately our food looked like the way the waitress did her job … We were initially surprised that the beer garden wasn't well attended at 3 p.m., but probably the food is just not good at that time... It's a shame, there's competition at the train station, Down Town is actually the better choice to spend your money in the beer garden... P.S.: Even a beer mat will have to be disposed of at some point, not because it has edges, but if the drinks from some of its predecessors are visibly immortalized on it, they should no longer be given out to guests...

The podium in Gera is an absolute insider tip! I was there recently and absolutely loved it. The ambience is modern and inviting, perfect for a cozy evening or special occasions. The furnishings are stylish and you immediately feel at home. The service was first class. The staff is not only friendly and attentive, but also very competent and courteous. You can tell that there are real professionals at work here who do their job with passion. The menu offers a wide selection of delicious dishes prepared with great attention to detail. The quality of the ingredients and the creative presentation of the dishes are remarkable. The seasonal specialties in particular are a highlight and highly recommended. The drinks menu also leaves nothing to be desired. Whether fine wines, unusual cocktails or classic drinks – there is something for every taste here. For me, the podium is one of the best addresses in Gera. Whether for a romantic dinner, a convivial evening with friends or a larger celebration - everything is just right here. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

Very tasty, everything couldn't be better

We were there quite spontaneously and even managed to get a seat. Whether we had read that you should reserve. The restaurant was great, the service was friendly and the food came very quickly. Regarding the food, I have to say it was very top and very tasty. The schnitzel was really good and the potato with bacon was delicious. In addition, the atmosphere is very nice and the restaurant is easily accessible in the city. I highly recommend it. Above all, the prices are really cheap for the portions you get.

On our trip we made a short stop in Gera and came across the restaurant and I'm really glad we were there. The food is fantastic both in taste and value for money. I had the XXL schnitzel, which tasted excellent. The breading was crispy and the schnitzel itself was very juicy. The seasoning was also just right. For drinks, I can recommend the homemade lemonade. All in all, I'm very satisfied and will definitely stop by again when I'm in Gera again.

Nous avons trouvé deux restaurants dans ce ville déserte- Gera. Un à coté d’autre. Nous avons choisi Podium, 15 minutes d’attente pour commander une bière. Les serveuses défilent sans nous capter ou plutôt sans volonté à s’approcher, au moins 3. Un bon quart d’heure passé à table côté rue, en vain. Nous sommes parties. Tant pis.

Unfortunately payment by credit card is not possible otherwise 5 stars. Edit, unfortunately one more star deducted because there are only soft drinks in bottles and no longer large drinks. Otherwise highly recommended in terms of food. You may need to reserve in advance. Some of them are really well attended.

The food tasted very good. The service was competent. It was well attended and there was real life here. You could follow the current European Championship football games on the TV on site. I enjoy coming here to the podium with friends and family.

Great food and service. Everything fits there. Price performance is top. Here the food is freshly cooked, not the ready-made food like in other restaurants.

Toll dass man beim Essen verschiedene Größen bestellen kann, für mich war das mittlere Schnitzel noch zu groß. Zubereitung und Geschmack war top, alles bestens angerichtet. Nice service, fast service and good food.

We were at Podium on Schnitzel Day and the value for money and service were good. (just under 10 for different schnitzel dishes) The portion sizes are absolutely fine. There is always something for different tastes on the promotional days too. Gladly again. 👍🏼

Top ambience, good value for money, very good tasting food. The toilets are a bit difficult to reach; unfortunately they are located on the upper floor. Difficult to reach via the stairs for people with disabilities. Stars are deducted for not accepting a (e.g. Visa) credit card. Sure, the year is 1924...

The food is very tasty and the price/performance ratio is right. We had the schnitzel twice. Once in normal size and once the XXL schnitzel. The homemade lemonade is also very refreshing. We can recommend the restaurant. :-)

A great place for lunch or a coffee during the break. Thanks to its location right on the shopping street, it's easy to reach and during the day you can get a table quickly even without a reservation. The food is good and moderately priced.

We used to go there very often when I was visiting Gera, usually in the evenings. We always got a seat, the food and drinks were absolutely right in terms of price and the portions were really plentiful.

The food was very bad today. My favorite dish on the panel today was just disastrous. The meat was burnt and dry. I have been served and will no longer be a guest in this restaurant for the time being. Despite complaints, no discount would be granted.

Wir waren am 27.04. mit 7 Personen dort und hatten reserviert. Bereits bei der Reservierung hieß es, Plätze nur noch oben. Alle anderen Plätze bereits reserviert. Das war für uns kein Problem. Als wir am 27.04. ankamen wurde uns sehr unfreundlich mitgeteilt, dass unsere Reservierung am 26.04. war und wir nicht gekommen wären. Weshalb sollten wir am 26.04. reservieren, wenn wir am 27.04. erst da sein können??? Von der sehr unfreundlichen „Dame“ hieß es dann, wir könnten lediglich noch draußen sitzen. Alles andere sei voll! Wir überlegten kurz, bis der Spruch der unfreundlichen Person kam „entweder sie setzen sich jetzt nach draußen oder gehen“. Absolut unterste Schublade. Erst nach dem Hinweis, dass bereits bei Reservierung der Hinweis kam, wir müssten oben sitzen, durften wir in die obere Etage. Oben angekommen wussten wir, weshalb die Dame so unfreundlich war. Die oberste Etage wollte sie. Laut dort stehendem Schild, geschlossen halten. Wohl aus Faulheit oder Angst vor Umsatz?!? Die Bedienung die wir dann hatten war dafür um so freundlicher und Serviceorientiert. Essen war gut. Nicht sehr gut, da die Bratkartoffeln zu hart waren und lediglich kurz im Öl/Fett geschwenkt. Mit Bratkartoffeln hatten diese nichts zu tun.

We were there on April 27th. There were 7 people there and we had reserved. When we made the reservation it was said that there would only be places at the top. All other places already reserved. That wasn't a problem for us. When we arrived on April 27th. When we arrived we were told in a very unfriendly manner that our reservation was on April 26th. was and we wouldn't have come. Why should we? April 26th reserve when we arrive on April 27th. can only be there??? The very unfriendly “lady” then said that we could only sit outside. Everything else was full! We thought about it for a moment until the unfriendly person said "either sit outside or leave". Absolutely bottom drawer. Only after being told that we had to sit upstairs when we made the reservation were we allowed to go to the upper floor. When we got to the top we knew why the lady was so unfriendly. She wanted the top floor. According to the sign there, keep closed. Probably out of laziness or fear of sales?!? The service we then had was even more friendly and service-oriented. Food was good. Not very good, as the fried potatoes were too hard and had only been briefly tossed in oil/fat. These had nothing to do with fried potatoes.
