Köstritzer Bierhaus in Gera

We ate here before an event at the KUK. Of course reserved in advance. Of course on days like this. My wife and I would like to thank the entire Bierhaus team for a successful start to a lovely evening. Reception top. Service (ALL) was great, nice and attentive. Food was great, from starter to main course to dessert, everything was delicious. If we ever end up in Gera again, we will definitely be here again.

I can highly recommend this restaurant. A few years ago there was a simpler menu here and lower quality, but a lot of things have changed internally and it's really worth it. There's a deconstructed tiramisu here that definitely blows your mind and I'm really not a fan of desserts. Anytime again 👌

Very good service and very good food.

On Friday I was in the house as a service provider (croupier). As part of my work, I was also fed by Ronny Grosser. Actually I would have been happy with a little something, but I was served a sauerbraten. What can I say...? I have never eaten such a fantastically good sauerbraten in my entire life! It's a shame Ronny can't put my stars on the door.

We have been guests at the Schwarzbierhaus for years - always completely satisfied with the food and the service and friendliness. So we decided to enjoy our family Christmas dinner in the Schwarzbierhaus at Christmas 2024. A pre-order with tickets for each person with an advance payment of 10 euros/person was necessary for the reservation, which in my opinion is completely ok. We were told there would be two runs, one at 11am and one at 1pm. We arrived on time on Christmas Day and the table assigned to us was completely fine. What happened next was just disappointing and really spoiled our family's Christmas dinner in the truest sense of the word! It quickly became clear that the team, two in service and two at the bar, had taken over each other...Nevertheless, both men from the service tried to remain friendly, but the "quick dismissal" was clearly noticeable. What followed defies any description of a Christmas dinner. It should be emphasized that there was an extra Christmas card with hefty prices! As a starter we chose a Ragout Fin. Since all the dishes were pre-cooked, the Ragout Fin was ready! the drinks there! The cheese was hard and there was a kind of "flour mush" underneath, which had nothing to do with a ragout fin! There was no toast either. After we told the waiter when we were clearing up, all we could hear was a hasty "Oh, it probably didn't tie properly!" Hello? For 8.40 euros? Then came the main course - deer goulash... again pre-cooked AND cold!!! I would have liked to get up and leave. The so-called beer dumplings were cold and tasted of NOTHING and were like they were overcooked.... That's probably why we weren't asked if everything was okay...to be honest - an absolute disgrace for the price! We are very disappointed and this is not how we imagined our Christmas dinner! We're happy to pay a little more, but not for warmed-out food because you've taken it upon yourself and want to take the Christmas business with you! Not even an apology... After this incident, we are (unfortunately) distancing ourselves from the Schwarzbierhaus for the time being. Just sad...

The service was quick and friendly. What bothered me about the meal was the consistency of the potatoes (triplets and fries), but in my opinion they could have taken a little longer. They were a little too firm to the bite.

The three of us had made reservations and when we arrived we were supposed to squeeze into a small table with a kind of bar stool without a backrest. When the waiter saw our faces, he gave us a table that was just as small and brought over a third chair, but at least they were chairs with backrests. The restaurant is nice, but the orientation towards the guest is a little lacking. The older waiter came at the beginning, then a young waiter came who was very nice, still a bit unsure, apparently new. But he immediately had an overview of who had an empty glass. The two girls at the bar were busy chatting and barely got behind the bar. Actually a nice house but the guest should be more noticeably the king. All in all, not a bad restaurant, but it won't become our regular restaurant. But that's my impression, others may think differently. The food was definitely visually great and I enjoyed it too.

A little chilly today, but otherwise good, quick service

Went there today and the staff was so unfriendly. We waited three quarters of an hour for a coffee and cappuccino. Food offering was poor.

The food was good, but unfortunately the portions were so small that you couldn't get enough. However, what had a much more negative impact was the behavior of the service staff towards one another. The tall waiter in particular treated a colleague quite disparagingly, which I find absolutely unacceptable. With such an approach, it doesn't surprise me if there are difficulties finding enough staff. In addition, the food was billed incorrectly, which further spoiled the overall impression.

Nice restaurant, Unfortunately, far too little for the price of the dishes. For a venison goulash for €25.20 you should be full. We also told the waiter that, and all he got was a smile. Of course I didn't miss out on their starters and desserts. A beer house salad €7.30 as a starter and an ice cream sundae €9.80 as a dessert were also included. Overall, at a price of over €42.30 just for the food, we are unfortunately not full! Sorry, but unfortunately that's not possible in Gera for the money. If there was a sign at the entrance that said: "We serve good quality food, but after 3 courses you have to go to another restaurant to get your fill" I would be okay with that.

The food was very good and also visually eye-catching. Service was really very, very friendly, a bit confused, but the restaurant was full and a lot to do, so you can turn a blind eye. Definitely recommended.

There's nothing to complain about! Friendly service, delicious brawn and cellar beer. The 1.2 km walk from the hotel was worth it!

After looking at the menu, we decided not to eat. Rostbrätl over €20, seasoned meat €8.40.

Three of us (with children) ate here. The offering is very varied and the prices are reasonable. There is a nice selection of children's meals for children. The three of us enjoyed the food very much and can recommend the restaurant.

I recently visited this restaurant with my wife and we were very happy with the food and the ambience. Unfortunately, the head waiter's behavior really bothered us. An employee who was obviously new and had some physical disabilities was severely harassed and insulted by him. Personally, I cannot recommend this restaurant and I clearly question the leadership quality of the head waiter. I would like the young man to find an employer who treats him as an equal and gives him the respect he deserves for his friendly nature and his efforts. Addendum: Thank you for your answer. We can of course understand that this is a major challenge, especially at a time when there is a shortage of skilled workers. I would still like to emphasize that the restaurant was not fully occupied that day and lunch was served quickly. In our opinion, there were no apparent reasons for such behavior. Clarification on site would certainly have been helpful. We are happy to accept this criticism.

After simply asking about a drink menu, the waitress gave a mushy answer and from then on we were ignored by the staff. Luckily there were other restaurants that evening.

Schönes Location, sauber, nett und freundlich. Essen war hübsch angerichtet und hat geschmeckt. Ein Sternchen Abzug für das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. Portionen könnten reichlicher sein. Bei vollem Haus, wartet man leider sehr lange.

Das Essen hatte sehr gut geschmeckt und die Bedienung war aufmerksam und sehr freundlich. Haben leider 1.5h auf das Essen gewartet woraufhin sich später jedoch entschuldigt wurde.

Toll eingerichtet, fantastische Küche, kleine Karte auf hohem Niveau…was will man mehr…ach ja, enorm professionellen Service. Ein Konzert nebenan sorgte für einen starken Ansturm, der professionell, freundlich und ehrlich abgearbeitet wurde. Selbst Aushilfen sind perfekt gebrieft und machten lächelnd einen Knochenjob. Tolle Erfahrung, weiter so!

Es sitzt sich bei herrlichen Spätsommerwetter im Freisitz vor der Gaststätte gut bei einem leckeren Köstritzer Schwarzbier und bei gutem Essen.

Waren schon länger nicht mehr hier und waren angenehm, von dem sehr leckeren und mit viel Liebe angerichtet Speisen, überrascht, wir hatten Burger und sehr feines Lamm. Der Service ist sehr zuvorkommend. Weiter so 👍👍👍 Danke, dass ihr Montags geöffnet habt!

Acceuil moyen. Juste commercial. Il faut faire "cracher" le touriste" Le serveur se sert son pourboire au moment de l'addition et pas moyen de s'y soustraire. En amuse bouche, tartines juste 5 petites, avec beurre maître d'hotel et "schmalz" Très cher du kg de pain. Une formation dans l'accueil serai fortement préconisée. Domage très bel endroit.

Für Gera ist das Köstritzer Bierhaus eine echte Bereicherung für niveauvolle Gastronomie. Ich bin treuer Gast und bringe auch sehr gern meine Gäste mit ins Haus, da ich vorzugsweise auf Nummer Sicher gehe :-) Auch das kulturelle Angebot dieses Restaurants ist abwechslungsreich und niveauvoll. Wir, 2 ältere Paare, hatten einen sehr schönen Abend mit super Essen, einer netten und aufmerksamen Bedienung eines jungen Mannes. Wir 4 waren absolut zufrieden und kommen gerne wieder 😄

Das medium bestellte sog. T-Bone-Steak war durchgebraten, zäh wie Leder und trocken wie der Furz des Kellners! Einzig das Schwarzbier war genießbar. Nie wieder!

Ich versuche, es freundlich zu formulieren: Preise astronomisch (knapp 20€ für ein Rostbrätel) Qualität der Speisen…? Burger gibt’s nur durchgebraten (nicht medium). Das deutet auf fertiges Gehacktes hin, nicht frisch durchgelassen). Die Sülze war OK aber unter dem Salat kaum zu finden. Das Ragout Fin war unterirdisch: geschmacksbefreit, farblich eher transparent (kenne ich anders), der Käse ohne Aroma… Also alles in allem klaffen hier Anspruch/ Preis und Wirklichkeit weit auseinander. Die kleine Kellnerin war sehr nett, das war wuasi der Höhepunkt.

Lokal liegt direkt in der Fußgängerzone und wir haben dort im Aussenbereich gegessen. Personal freundlich und angemessen schnell. Gerichte sind gute deftige Hausmannskost. Ich hatte die Sülze mit Bratkartoffeln. Insgesamt sehr schmackhaft, jedoch hätten die Bratkartoffeln durchaus krosser sein Können. Es gab frisches Köstritzer vom Fass - sehr passend. Insgesamt eine Empfehlung von mir!

Meine Bekannte und ich wollten vor dem Besuch einer Veranstaltung im KuK eine Kleinigkeit essen. Vom Betreiber bekamen wir 2 Hochstühle ohne Lehne fast im Gang zugewiesen,obwohl wir beide über 70 Jahre sind. Es war alles ungemütlich,unbequem und hektisch,so daß wir uns nur schnell für ein kleines Gericht entschieden. Nachdem wir uns auf die Hocker hoch gehangelt hatten mußten wir immer nur schauen,daß die Kellner auf ihrem Weg zur Küche irgendwie unbeschadet an uns vorbei kamen. Das kleine Essen war für beide ein Desaster. Mein Ragou fin war sehr flüssig und t o t a l versalzen. Ich vertrage viel Salz,aber das war nicht essbar. Nach wenigen Löffeln mußte ich aufgeben. Wir wollten nur noch raus. Beim Bezahlen fragte der Wirt nach dem Grund, den ich ihm dann (ohne Meckern oder Beschwerde) genannt habe, was er nicht so recht glauben wollte. Er kam aber dann mit einer Bestätigung , einer Entschuldigung und einer 2,00 Euro Bonskarte zurück, einlösbar bei einem nächsten Besuch im Lokal.Diese haben wir beim Verlassen 2 männlichen Gästen weiter gegeben,da für uns beide klar war,daß wir nie wieder in diese Gaststätte gehen werden. Sicher macht jeder andere und eigene Erfahrungen und das ist ja auch so in Ordnung. Wer zufrieden war, mag gerne wieder hin gehen, wir aber nicht. Zu bemerken wäre noch, daß alle Bedienungen sehr freundlich waren aber das allein reicht leider nicht aus .

Von der Bestellung übers Weihnachtsessen bis zum Preis - es hat alles gepasst. Kann man also jederzeit auch weiter empfehlen ...

Besuch in Gera, mit einem Abendessen unter Freunden. Diese Lokalität passt für ein solche Vorhaben. Gute Aufteilung mit einer Sitzecke (muss reserviert werden) in der eine eigener Zapfanlage. Essen ist von typisch bis high end. Preise passen noch. Es ist auf jeden fall ein guter Tipp für einen Kurztrip.

Tja leider muss ich naja sagen. Der männliche Kellner war nicht so doll bei der Sache und recht genervt. Die junge Kellnerin dagegen war super freundlich und auf Zack. Was mir komisch vorkommt das mein Essen nach nicht mal 10 min da war und nicht heiß. Mag ich persönlich garnicht.(Geschmacksache). Dafür das ein Sternekoch dort arbeiten soll bin ich nicht von dem Essen zu 100% überzeugt. War ok. Im ganzen hatte ich das Gefühl das wir schnell abgefertigt werden sollten. Und offensichtlich war ein Stammkunde der neben uns saß wilkommener. Schade.

Heute war ich mit meinen Eltern hier essen, die Bedienung war sehr freundlich und sehr aufmerksam. Leider hat man bei der Pasta mit Hähnchen die Tomaten vergessen, deswegen diese Bewertung. Ansonsten zufrieden. Die Biervariation ist vielfältig, ein Pluspunkt.

Attentive service and a fine menu. All three of us were totally satisfied with our choice of food and restaurant.

Wir, ein älteres Ehepaar, waren heute zu Mittag im Bierhaus. Bei sehr freundlichem und serviceorientiertem Personal bestellten wir das als regional typisch empfohlene Gericht „Fuhre voll Mist“. Es sollten laut Speisekarte „Original Thüringer Rostbrätel, Schmorzwiebeln, Bratkartoffeln und Schwarzbiersenf“ werden. Alle Zutaten waren auch in der Schüssel, die als besonderer Geck in einer kleinen Schubkarre serviert wurde, enthalten, aber eben wie benannt, als eine Fuhre voll Mist. Optisch nett gedacht, würde das Ganze geschmacklich die Bewerbung in einer Arbeiterkantine weit verfehlen. Schade. Wir hatten hier wahrscheinlich eine falsche Erwartungshaltung.

Waren hier mit der Firma zum Mittagessen in Buffet Form. Sehr moderate Preise, bei denen man nicht mit mehr rechnen kann. Nette Bedienung
