Very good service and very good food.

A very centrally located restaurant in downtown Gera. The food was excellent, but very expensive. I had a rustic schnitzel for €20.90. Beer cost €4.50, but unfortunately, it was only a 0.4L. I was a bit annoyed that they charged extra for changing the side dish. This wasn't stated on the menu.

A wonderful place with authentic Gersch hospitality, excellent and personal service, and a fantastic menu. We'd love to come back!

We ate here for the first time today. The servers were very friendly and attentive. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. We would recommend it anytime.

I booked this place at the last minute for a group of 20 who turned out to be more like a group of 35. They were incredibly flexible and accommodating and the service was excellent under the circumstances. I think they kept the kitchen open for us. Everyone was very happy and happy with the food - and of course the beer - too. Thanks team!

Very attentive and friendly service. The food is delicious. There was a small mistake with one of our food orders, but we were flexible and everything worked out well. Excellent dark beer.

Nice location, service was mostly OK, but unfortunately my expensive Angus steak wasn't cooked medium as requested. Also, my brother couldn't use the restroom because it wasn't clean. It's a shame, we had expected more, especially given the prices.

If you're listed as a restaurant on Edenred, you should be able to accept vouchers. Instead, I'm told they're no longer accepted because they're rarely used. It couldn't be more stupid.

Was on a short break with friends in Gera at the weekend. There are lots of beautiful places to visit, including historical ones. We had very good food there, friendly staff and the beer was also very good! Would come again! Highly recommended!

Rarely have we been treated so well. Special requests (gluten and lactose intolerance) were responded to more than courteously and the quality of the food was also very good. If I'm in town again I know where I'll stop.

Wir wurden sehr Unfreundlich aus dem Lokal rausgeschmissen wo in Gera Feiert Frei war. Wir setzten uns mit an den Stisch von der Band die da gespielt hat. Als die Band anfing wurde zu uns gesagt wie wir uns was zu Trinken bestellen könnten wir haben den Tisch ja nicht Resaviert. Wir sollen gehen. Sehr Unfreundlich. Wenn man dem nicht gewachsen ist sollte man an solchen Veranstaltungen nicht teil nehmen. Auserdem wird da auch nach Gesicht entschieden ob man einen Tisch bekommt oder nicht.

Es war sehr schön hier, der frischgepresste Orangensaft und die musikalische einmalige Untermalung waren das Highlight.

It was very nice here, the freshly squeezed orange juice and the unique musical accompaniment were the highlight, I'd be happy to do it again.

We ate here before an event at the KUK. Of course reserved in advance. Of course on days like this. My wife and I would like to thank the entire Bierhaus team for a successful start to a lovely evening. Reception top. Service (ALL) was great, nice and attentive. Food was great, from starter to main course to dessert, everything was delicious. If we ever end up in Gera again, we will definitely be here again.

I can highly recommend this restaurant. A few years ago there was a simpler menu here and lower quality, but a lot of things have changed internally and it's really worth it. There's a deconstructed tiramisu here that definitely blows your mind and I'm really not a fan of desserts. Anytime again 👌

On Friday I was in the house as a service provider (croupier). As part of my work, I was also fed by Ronny Grosser. Actually I would have been happy with a little something, but I was served a sauerbraten. What can I say...? I have never eaten such a fantastically good sauerbraten in my entire life! It's a shame Ronny can't put my stars on the door.

We have been guests at the Schwarzbierhaus for years - always completely satisfied with the food and the service and friendliness. So we decided to enjoy our family Christmas dinner in the Schwarzbierhaus at Christmas 2024. A pre-order with tickets for each person with an advance payment of 10 euros/person was necessary for the reservation, which in my opinion is completely ok. We were told there would be two runs, one at 11am and one at 1pm. We arrived on time on Christmas Day and the table assigned to us was completely fine. What happened next was just disappointing and really spoiled our family's Christmas dinner in the truest sense of the word! It quickly became clear that the team, two in service and two at the bar, had taken over each other...Nevertheless, both men from the service tried to remain friendly, but the "quick dismissal" was clearly noticeable. What followed defies any description of a Christmas dinner. It should be emphasized that there was an extra Christmas card with hefty prices! As a starter we chose a Ragout Fin. Since all the dishes were pre-cooked, the Ragout Fin was ready! the drinks there! The cheese was hard and there was a kind of "flour mush" underneath, which had nothing to do with a ragout fin! There was no toast either. After we told the waiter when we were clearing up, all we could hear was a hasty "Oh, it probably didn't tie properly!" Hello? For 8.40 euros? Then came the main course - deer goulash... again pre-cooked AND cold!!! I would have liked to get up and leave. The so-called beer dumplings were cold and tasted of NOTHING and were like they were overcooked.... That's probably why we weren't asked if everything was okay...to be honest - an absolute disgrace for the price! We are very disappointed and this is not how we imagined our Christmas dinner! We're happy to pay a little more, but not for warmed-out food because you've taken it upon yourself and want to take the Christmas business with you! Not even an apology... After this incident, we are (unfortunately) distancing ourselves from the Schwarzbierhaus for the time being. Just sad...

The three of us had made reservations and when we arrived we were supposed to squeeze into a small table with a kind of bar stool without a backrest. When the waiter saw our faces, he gave us a table that was just as small and brought over a third chair, but at least they were chairs with backrests. The restaurant is nice, but the orientation towards the guest is a little lacking. The older waiter came at the beginning, then a young waiter came who was very nice, still a bit unsure, apparently new. But he immediately had an overview of who had an empty glass. The two girls at the bar were busy chatting and barely got behind the bar. Actually a nice house but the guest should be more noticeably the king. All in all, not a bad restaurant, but it won't become our regular restaurant. But that's my impression, others may think differently. The food was definitely visually great and I enjoyed it too.

The service was quick and friendly. What bothered me about the meal was the consistency of the potatoes (triplets and fries), but in my opinion they could have taken a little longer. They were a little too firm to the bite.

Went there today and the staff was so unfriendly. We waited three quarters of an hour for a coffee and cappuccino. Food offering was poor.

The food was good, but unfortunately the portions were so small that you couldn't get enough. However, what had a much more negative impact was the behavior of the service staff towards one another. The tall waiter in particular treated a colleague quite disparagingly, which I find absolutely unacceptable. With such an approach, it doesn't surprise me if there are difficulties finding enough staff. In addition, the food was billed incorrectly, which further spoiled the overall impression.

Nice restaurant, Unfortunately, far too little for the price of the dishes. For a venison goulash for €25.20 you should be full. We also told the waiter that, and all he got was a smile. Of course I didn't miss out on their starters and desserts. A beer house salad €7.30 as a starter and an ice cream sundae €9.80 as a dessert were also included. Overall, at a price of over €42.30 just for the food, we are unfortunately not full! Sorry, but unfortunately that's not possible in Gera for the money. If there was a sign at the entrance that said: "We serve good quality food, but after 3 courses you have to go to another restaurant to get your fill" I would be okay with that.

The food was very good and also visually eye-catching. Service was really very, very friendly, a bit confused, but the restaurant was full and a lot to do, so you can turn a blind eye. Definitely recommended.

There's nothing to complain about! Friendly service, delicious brawn and cellar beer. The 1.2 km walk from the hotel was worth it!

Three of us (with children) ate here. The offering is very varied and the prices are reasonable. There is a nice selection of children's meals for children. The three of us enjoyed the food very much and can recommend the restaurant.

I recently visited this restaurant with my wife and we were very happy with the food and the ambience. Unfortunately, the head waiter's behavior really bothered us. An employee who was obviously new and had some physical disabilities was severely harassed and insulted by him. Personally, I cannot recommend this restaurant and I clearly question the leadership quality of the head waiter. I would like the young man to find an employer who treats him as an equal and gives him the respect he deserves for his friendly nature and his efforts. Addendum: Thank you for your answer. We can of course understand that this is a major challenge, especially at a time when there is a shortage of skilled workers. I would still like to emphasize that the restaurant was not fully occupied that day and lunch was served quickly. In our opinion, there were no apparent reasons for such behavior. Clarification on site would certainly have been helpful. We are happy to accept this criticism.

After simply asking about a drink menu, the waitress gave a mushy answer and from then on we were ignored by the staff. Luckily there were other restaurants that evening.

Schönes Location, sauber, nett und freundlich. Essen war hübsch angerichtet und hat geschmeckt. Ein Sternchen Abzug für das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. Portionen könnten reichlicher sein. Bei vollem Haus, wartet man leider sehr lange.

Abendessen mit Freunden, sehr nette Bedienung, super leckeres Essen, Reservierung ist ratsam, da sehr gut besucht. Empfehlenswert 👌

Das Essen hatte sehr gut geschmeckt und die Bedienung war aufmerksam und sehr freundlich. Haben leider 1.5h auf das Essen gewartet woraufhin sich später jedoch entschuldigt wurde.

Toll eingerichtet, fantastische Küche, kleine Karte auf hohem Niveau…was will man mehr…ach ja, enorm professionellen Service. Ein Konzert nebenan sorgte für einen starken Ansturm, der professionell, freundlich und ehrlich abgearbeitet wurde. Selbst Aushilfen sind perfekt gebrieft und machten lächelnd einen Knochenjob. Tolle Erfahrung, weiter so!

Waren seit längerem mal wieder im Bierhaus ...ich muss sagen das Lokal hat das Niveau sogar noch verbessert, obwohl die Messlatte schon recht hoch war...echt zu empfehlen...

Es sitzt sich bei herrlichen Spätsommerwetter im Freisitz vor der Gaststätte gut bei einem leckeren Köstritzer Schwarzbier und bei gutem Essen.

Es schmeckt,aber bei den Preisen zu teuer Bei meim Gericht 4/8 Salat geht gar nicht Schnitzel zu klein

Waren schon länger nicht mehr hier und waren angenehm, von dem sehr leckeren und mit viel Liebe angerichtet Speisen, überrascht, wir hatten Burger und sehr feines Lamm. Der Service ist sehr zuvorkommend. Weiter so 👍👍👍 Danke, dass ihr Montags geöffnet habt!

Acceuil moyen. Juste commercial. Il faut faire "cracher" le touriste" Le serveur se sert son pourboire au moment de l'addition et pas moyen de s'y soustraire. En amuse bouche, tartines juste 5 petites, avec beurre maître d'hotel et "schmalz" Très cher du kg de pain. Une formation dans l'accueil serai fortement préconisée. Domage très bel endroit.
