The "winter garden" in the back area of ​​the Greek is recommended, it is a little quieter there. Drinks and food came quickly, service was friendly and the ouzo at the end wasn't missing either. Of course the prices have gone up a bit, but that's the case everywhere. It filled up pretty quickly in the evening, hence the recommendation to make a TABLE RESERVATION! Parking spaces can be found directly in front of the restaurant or on the opposite side of the street.

Completely spontaneously on a Friday evening, I went as a single person into the completely full shop and was able to spontaneously get a table. Initially the service was quick and friendly. Starter delicious, salad to accompany the dish perfectly dressed and in a nice size. The main course was the Plaka skewer plate. It's nice to eat a gyro that hasn't just been salted to death. The skewers were on point. The potato slices could have been a little crispier and the portion of tzatziki could have been a little larger for the otherwise very generous plate. Afterwards there was an ouzo at the table. A significant reduction in service in retrospect, as there would have been room to ask me in between whether everything was okay and whether I would like to order something more to drink, which I would have done. Overall, the service staff were too experienced and calm for such details to not have worked. Another deduction because I was simply left sitting after my main course was cleared away. Glass empty, the service staff engaged in conversation at the counter with more than enough air, or passed by the place often enough. The third deduction is due to the high prices, not to the food itself. Charging around 7 euros for pepperinos from a jar with a little garlic and oil is harsh, even in times of understandably rising gastro prices. Unfortunately, the longer I sit here, the more my overall impression diminishes. It's all well and good to have an attractive store with delicious food, but if the service isn't right, the overall picture isn't right. It's a shame, clearly wasted potential that would definitely have been affordable. Still, there doesn't seem to be any reason for people not to come. Even 5 minutes before the store closes according to Google.

We sat there for an hour with empty glasses & no one seemed to be responsible for our table. And even then we basically had to stop someone. But the food was excellent… as always

Service is quick but rarely friendly. Service could be friendlier. Price/performance ratio and quality of the food is good, but the cleanliness on the tables and within the restaurant leaves a lot to be desired.

We have been to Plaka twice now and for the second time it was a failure for us. Unfortunately, my liver was fried to death and the meat on my husband's plate was also extremely dry. For these prices I expect a top meal. All in all, the food was nothing special. At around 9:40 p.m. we wanted to order something to drink and had the feeling that they wanted to get rid of us. We sat in the outdoor area, which is absolutely carelessly designed. Just the bare tables, no flowers, nothing. This is what our balcony looks like before we bring it out of hibernation. Dear Plaka team, no offense, but there is definitely a better way. It doesn't take much to make the outdoor area comfortable. There are great decorative elements for little money, so that such an area is inviting and invites you to linger.

Unfortunately I cannot recommend the restaurant. Owner and service staff very unfriendly, the owner became loud because a water complaint was made. The rice with tomato sauce was overcooked and soggy, the fried potatoes were fried potato chips. The two lamb skewers were very sparingly stocked. Conclusion: everything there is very expandable. Hunger drives it in.

I like to give good reviews, but unfortunately I can't say the same about the service at Plaka that evening. The food is great! Really very tasty and definitely worth a visit. But the service staff makes you feel unwelcome, 90% of the time you have to ask yourself whether you could order something else instead of being asked, the order is taken as if you are interrupting the work process and unfortunately I am more likely to smile that evening rarely responded to. I am always polite and friendly to other people and grateful for the service, but unfortunately that evening at Plaka I was anything but comfortable with the service. The restaurant is almost always full, so you get the impression that Plaka doesn't think it has to rely on hospitality as its strongest horse.

Greek restaurant with reasonable prices and good selection on the menu. For the main courses you can choose between “normal” and small portion sizes. If the portions are too big for your hunger, you can have the rest packed up to take away. The food, a salad, a grill plate, a starter plate and liver, was very tasty. Finally there was an ouzo on the house. We will be happy to come back.

Absolutely loved the Greek restaurant! The delicious flavors of Greek cuisine enchanted my taste buds. The food was not only delicious, but also prepared with love. Particularly noteworthy is the heavenly cake "Galaktoburiko", which was the perfect conclusion to an all-round successful culinary experience. The cozy atmosphere rounded the whole thing off. A place you should definitely visit!

Beim Eintreten angenehm beeindruckt vom Ambiente. Dann haben wir unter anderem ein Bauernsalat bestellt. Ich hab leider nicht daran gedacht ein Bild zu machen, weil es war ein Berg Tomaten, etwas Gurke, drunter bisschen Krautsalat und vier dünne Streifen... Eigentlich nur Decko Schafskäse und 5 Stück Oliven und damit es voller aussieht ein Büchel Zwiebeln... Auf meine Nachfrage, warum diese unmenge an Tomaten und kaum Käse und Oliven, hieß es überheblich: es gehört so, aber nicht meine Vorstellung von einem Bauernsalat! Filet war saftig und medium, aber leider mit frittierte Tiefkühl Kartoffelscheiben... Ich hasse das... Es schmeckt nach nix, geschweige denn nach Bratkartoffeln. Dazu gehörte in der Sauce Zucchini und Aubergine... Zucchinis hab ich keine gefunden und die Auberginen waren mit Schale, eher halb gar, sodass es beim Kauen quietschte, ungenießbar, liegen gelassen. Dafür waren unsere Fischgerichte toll... Auf Wunsch sogar in der Küche entgretet👍🏻 ein freundliches Lächeln von der Bedienung wäre schön gewesen, wenn es nicht aufgesetzt gewirkt hätte ...

Sehr leckeres Essen und zuvorkommende Bedienung! Wir durften unsere Hunde mit reinnehmen und es gab eine Schale Wasser. Ich kann es nur wärmstens empfehlen!

Eine gute Adresse wenn man gut essen möchte. Echt lecker und reichlich.

Wir waren abends am Wochenende da. Sehr voll (reservieren!). Parkplätze waren alle belegt. Es war recht laut, dennoch konnte man sich gut unterhalten, da die Tische mit reichlich Abstand zueinander gestellt sind. Speisen, Getränke und Service waren gut, nur kurze Wartezeit. Positiv, dass es von vielen Gerichten wahlweise kleine und große Portionen gibt.

Freundlicher flotter Service, leckeres Essen, ein gratis Ouzo hinterher. Wir kommen wieder.

Einen echt guten Mittagstisch und die restliche Speisekarte bietet alles, wir gehen sehr gerne ins Plaka 😊

Ein angenehmes Restaurant um mit Kundschaft eine Pause einzulegen - frische und leckere Mahlzeiten, sehr nettes Team, dazu im Sommer tolle und ruhige Plätze im Freien - unsere Erfahrungen seit über 10 Jahren - weiter so!

Wir waren am 26.12.23 das erste mal zur großen Familien Feier dort. Das Restaurant ist sehr gemütlich ausgestattet und als Gast hat man reichlich Platz zwischen den anderen Gästen Tische und Stühle. Perfekt für Kleinkinder und Babys in Maxi Cosi. Die Auswahl der Speisekarte ist top, auch für die Kinder. Das gesamte Restaurant Team ist Mega freundlich und top im Service. Das Essen war super lecker und die Teller reichlich belegt. Das Plaka kann ich bestens empfehlen. Privater Parkplatz steht ebenfalls zur Verfügung. Eine vorherige Reservierung ist auf jeden Fall empfehlenswert. 👍🏼🔝

Ein solides gutes griechisches Restaurant. Das Essen war gut und reichlich und der Service sehr freundlich. Keine Sterne-Gastronomie, aber jederzeit empfehlenswert.

Gut zubereitetes Essen und kühle Getraenke in schönem, wohnlichem Ambiente. Was will man mehr. Mit Familie bin ich hier regelmäßig, auch weil ich die jeweils kleine Portion wãhlen kann, die dann auch weniger kostet. Ich bin der Inhaberfamilie aus Griechenland sehr dankbar für das, was sie tagtaeglich alle gemeinsam auf die Beine stellen. Ein meist volles Haus lohnt es ihnen. Zurecht. Reservierung ratsam.

Wir hatten für eine Weihnachtsfeier zum mitnehmen bestellt. Alle Speisen waren sehr lecker. Bisschen viel Verpackung aber dafür war das Essen auch noch sehr schön heiß. Kann es weiterempfehlen!

Das Mittagessen im griechischen Restaurant Plaka war definitiv ein positives Erlebnis. Eine vielfältige Auswahl an authentischen griechischen Gerichten, alle geschmackvoll und frisch zubereitet. Die Atmosphäre im Restaurant war einladend, obwohl es mittags sehr gut besucht war. Ein Tipp: Am besten einen Tisch reservieren, um sicherzugehen. Ein kleiner Nachteil war der voll besetzte Parkplatz, aber das Essen und der freundliche Service haben das mehr als wettgemacht. Für ein leckeres Mittagessen in griechischem Ambiente ist das Plaka absolut empfehlenswert!

Ωραίο φαγητό, άψογη εξυπηρέτηση και φιλικό προσωπικό. Η ποιότητα του φαγητού και η ποσότητα ικανοποιητικες . Το κρέας ήταν πολύ μαλακό και πολύ γευστικό. Πολύ προσιτό εστιατόριο για οικογένειες και όχι μόνο ! Σίγουρα θα το επισκεφτούμε ξανά!

Das Essen von allen 4 Personen war aus der Mittagskarte und war ausgezeichnet, Lammspieß, Hacksteak & Schweinefilet. Die frittierten Kartoffelscheiben waren diesmal extra gut. Die Terrasse ist eine der schönsten in Mainz. Der Service war heute sehr aufmerksam. Wir gehen immer wieder gerne hierher, der Service ist nicht immer auf dem besten Niveau.
