Pils-Stube in Schorndorf

New, friendly owner since the beginning of October. We ordered the Pizza Parma to eat in – very tasty, with a great base and fresh toppings made with high-quality Parma ham. Fresh tomatoes with a delicious hint of garlic. For this quality, the price-performance ratio is absolutely fair. Just a few more seats, and it'll be perfect. We're happy to try more of the menu.

Platzhirsch Schondorf, January 2, 2026: Thank you so much for the wonderful time I spent there. The restaurant's decorations were perfect for the season; the Christmas spirit was palpable right from the entrance, and the windows were also adorned with Christmas motifs. The atmosphere inside was cozy and pleasant. I chose a table at the very back, from where I could see everyone coming and going. Although the music wasn't quite to my taste, it suited the restaurant very well, and the lighting added a special touch to the ambiance. Around 11:30 a.m., there were already other guests, and the waitresses were ready to serve. Between bustling between tables, one of them would always stop by my table to check that everything was alright. They were attentive and friendly and ensured I had a lovely time. At 12:38 p.m., I placed my first order: lentils with Spätzle and a cup of tea. What was interesting was that the chef himself came to me to make sure I really wanted the dish that way—a small portion. I felt like a very important customer and completely at ease. Of course, in a restaurant of this size, it's noticeable that guests are not only treated and welcomed well, but also tend to stay longer than usual after their meal, which is a good sign for the place. At 12:41 p.m., my tea arrived, which I enjoyed while I waited for the food. At 12:50 p.m., it finally arrived—an unparalleled wait, considering that many tables were already occupied. I received a special portion; the dish was garnished with parsley and tomatoes. Along with lentils and spaetzle, there was a sausage and a slice of fried bacon—I love bacon. Since I'm a picky eater, I have a habit of smelling and touching food. At first, I thought it was cold, but when I put a spoonful of lentils and spaetzle in my mouth, I realized it was warm, which was ideal for my palate. The contrast between the lightly spiced lentils and the spaetzle made me feel like I was eating a delicious meal my grandmother had prepared. The portion was perfect, and the taste was wonderful. I couldn't have eaten any more. At 1:00 p.m., the waitress came to check that everything was alright, and the restaurant was filling up with more guests. The place seems to be popular and attracts an attractive clientele. At 1:13 p.m., I finished and went back to what I had been doing. At 1:30 p.m., the plate was cleared away, 17 minutes after I had finished and 40 minutes after it had been served. I commend you on this service. At 2:37 p.m., after a good digestion, the good thing was that I had no problems with the food, unlike what I usually experience at other restaurants. So I ordered a glass of wine, the waitress gave me a recommendation which I accepted, and it was good. At the same time, the chef came by to ask how I enjoyed my meal. At 3:02 p.m. and 4:56 p.m., they were truly attentive and already deserve 10 stars. At 5:18 p.m., another waiter came by, who was even friendlier. At 6:13 p.m., I had a craving for something sweet, so I ordered apple fritters with vanilla ice cream. At 6:23 p.m., this fantastic dessert arrived, beautifully presented, making my mouth water just looking at it. It was truly delicious; I recommend that everyone who visits the restaurant try it. It was so delicious that I would gladly go back again. For everything this place has to offer: service, food, the location itself. The prices for food and drinks are incredibly reasonable. Afterwards, I ordered a glass of wine, enjoyed the rest of my time there, and soaked up the pleasant atmosphere. Platzhirsch is truly a place you could visit without even thinking about it.

The food there is truly delicious and freshly prepared. The service seemed a bit overwhelmed, but was friendly.

If you sit near the front by the door, definitely bring a jacket, it's quite drafty there. A lot of the food is homemade, and it shows. Reservations are a must if there's an event.
