We were here for the first time today and came with low expectations. We were more than pleasantly surprised! We had a truffle pasta and a burrata pizza, as well as dessert each. It was the best pizza we've ever tasted. The service was also super attentive and friendly! We will definitely be back.

Disappointing – Quality and service declining We used to enjoy Café Pier IV, but recently the quality has declined significantly. The drinks are getting smaller and less tasty, the staff less friendly, and the food worse. Our food arrived burnt, and the coffee was far too strong. Unfortunately, it wasn't a pleasant visit – very disappointing! Hopefully, things will improve. Until then, we'd rather go elsewhere.

From coffee to food – terrible. I loved this place 3-4 years ago. I have no idea if there was a sale during that time, but the quality has plummeted. The food always gives me a stomach ache. Whether it's due to hygiene issues: I don't know, it could be. I'm guessing it's expired/spoiled. The waiters don't know their own menus; we ordered 4 main courses because they said "salads are appetizers." Mind you, there were two of us, and after another waiter brought us the 4 plates in a very cheeky and questionable manner, we were laughed at for ordering so much. P.S.: We still had to pay for the salads even though we didn't want them. A truly terrible place. The only nice thing: the view. But I'd rather sit on the steps outside and enjoy the view than ever set foot in this place again. I would gladly give it 0 stars.

Very good location in Heidelberg, just a few minutes' walk from the main street. The food was very good, the pizza was absolutely fantastic, and the service was excellent. I would come back anytime.

Wir waren geschäftlich zum Abendessen dort. Der Service war langsam, obwohl das Restaurant kaum zur Hälfte besetzt war. Die Getränke waren unterdurchschnittlich, der Apérol Spritz war verwässert, der Gin & Tonic ebenfalls viel zu dünn. Der vorausgewählte Weißwein war zu warm und fade. Der Hauptgang war okay, kam aber zu kalt auf dem Tisch an und war selbst als Menüportion zu wenig. Einzig die Lage am Wasser ist nett, wovon man aber am Abend nichts hat. Wir kommen nicht wieder.

An amazing river tour of Heidelberg.

Unfortunately, on one of the last beautiful sunny days we couldn't sit on the deck because a video shoot was planned and the deck was closed. Too bad

The location itself is quite nice. You can definitely go there for a drink. However, you should stay away from eating food that tastes more like something from the ready-made shelf. And all of this at quite high prices. The ship would be ok as a bar, but unfortunately not as a restaurant. Overall, Pier IV seems a bit unprofessional.

Disappointing experience - reservation not honored I had planned for September 11th. We had a reservation confirmed by phone, but when we arrived on time there was no space available for us. Despite confirmation, we were told there were no more tables available. It was an extremely disappointing experience, especially since you were relying on a reservation. Our evening was completely ruined. I definitely won't be coming back and unfortunately I can't recommend the store.

Schöne Lage. Gutes Essen. Nicht preiswert aber ok. Unbedingt reservieren. Personal ist freundlich, Toiletten könnten sauberer sein.

Unfortunately, my visit to the Pier 4 restaurant was anything but pleasant. The starter tasted almost exclusively of mayonnaise and ketchup - lacking any sophistication or freshness. The main course, salmon, was a real low point: unseasoned and partially undercooked. For a dish that is touted as a highlight, this was more than disappointing. Dessert, ice cream, was the sad end - it tasted more like ice cubes than a creamy dessert. Overall the quality of the food left a lot to be desired and I probably won't be back.

I would like to give the atmosphere and service 7 stars but that's not possible...tip top

What a huge disappointment. From the outside it always looked so cool and like the place to be, until you are actually there. Even tho it wasn’t full the service was slow and weird, it was dark and windy and they didn’t turn the lights on. When I’ve asked for a blanket they also didn’t have one. They say they have something like a dress code but let people in a jogging pens in. Strange comments from a waiter. You overpay for the location and the view. Drinks were ok but considering the price, was a bare minimum. Pizza was way overpriced for what it is. So it was a dark and cold evening in an almost empty restaurant with a bad service.

A not very extensive menu, but you can eat something, but there are plenty of drinks, there is something for every taste.

So we made reservations online for 10 p.m. Then it said it closes at 10. When we were there, the guy said they were still open for 15 minutes. Only after I mentioned that I had made a reservation did he say we still had until 11pm? Awesome place in itself. Little selection of non-alcoholic drinks.

The slightly higher prices are worth it. Service is great! The service is friendly and there for you straight away. Pasta teriyaki was a 10 out of 10 as were the cocktails!

Very nice service with delicious food and cool drinks

One of the most beautiful locations in Heidelberg directly on the Neckar with delicious food. The service is very nice, but sometimes seems a little overwhelmed and forgets that you had asked for chili/chilli oil for the pizza or that you had specified special requests when making the reservation. Nevertheless, you can spend lovely evenings here.

Good food in a very nice atmosphere right on the water

After our civil wedding, we celebrated with six people in Pier IV. The ambience was great, the service was good, the food was delicious (we had selected and ordered pizzas and appetizer platters in advance) and since the location didn't open until 4 p.m., we were completely alone. The price is also absolutely fair. We had a great time and would come back any time...

Very courteous and friendly service. Had reservations, arrived a bit early. Table placed us, took our order anyway and catered to our every wish. Had the Terriyaki Pasta, the food was delicious and as wonderful as the service. A Heidelberg must for great food, great service, beautiful view and atmosphere.

Hello everyone, It's a shame that such a mega cool location is so poorly managed. Yesterday I spontaneously went to Heidelberg with my girlfriend and we had already thought in advance that we would like to have a drink and something to eat on the Neckar. Accordingly, we chose Pier 4. And now short and sweet: Really almost rude staff, long waiting times despite a clear occupancy. The location is really great. You could do a lot more with the store. We will refrain from another visit.
