Actually, zero stars, if possible. Very nice location. The rest is questionable. We (the two of us) got a table on deck, with a maximum of four other tables occupied. The staff on deck (three girls) were chatting among themselves. After 15 minutes of waiting and then asking, we got our tickets. 25 minutes later, and despite consistently checking (otherwise, no one else was there), no one was at our table. So we got up and left. -> Unfortunately, this wasn't the first time the staff had behaved like this. But definitely the last time for us!

There were four of us eating out and we had made a reservation. There was no pizza that day because the chef was sick. Our two pasta dishes were accidentally delivered to the wrong table. After the staff member only noticed the mistake five minutes later, he took the plates away and put them there for us. A no-go!!! The third pasta was simply forgotten and the cold tapas platter was, well, not worth the money. Especially as there was hair stuck to the platter. The man behind the bar was quite pushy and just annoying and horrible; his behavior was totally inappropriate. An Aperol was also forgotten and the table wasn't cleared away either... the forgotten Aperol was served upon request and we didn't charge for it. At least that's a small consolation. We definitely won't be back! Although the pasta is amazing!!! What a shame.

Unfortunately, the food was served cold. Most of the menu was gone at 8 p.m. on a Saturday evening. The waitress who served us was also quite unfriendly. The gentleman was really nice, though. The ambiance is really nice, though. There's a great view.

Unfortunately, only one star because the staff at the entrance were very unfriendly, and we couldn't get a seat. Apparently, everything on the upper deck was reserved, even though you could see from outside that many tables were free.

If I could have, I wouldn't have given it a star. The staff, especially the young man at the bar (August 30, 2025), is very unfriendly. You're not allowed to sit on the upper deck unless you've made a reservation, even if everything is available. Guests who left the restaurant when we went in told us they were sitting on the upper deck and there were still tables available. There's clearly a double standard here.

We were at the Piazza Spritz Party in Heidelberg yesterday, August 23, 2025, and booked two VIP tables, each for €200 including drinks. This is precisely why you consciously choose the VIP area: You pay the package price, which includes the bottles, and naturally assume that they belong to you after payment. Since the time at the table was relatively short, some bottles remained unopened. At the end of the evening, two Aperol and three bottles of sparkling wine remained unopened on our table. We politely announced this and asked if we could take them with us. However, this was strictly refused. It was particularly disappointing to observe other guests simply taking their bottles without asking and without being objected to. We find this behavior unfair, unprofessional, and completely lacking in transparency. If there were a clear rule that drinks may only be consumed on site and that taking them away is prohibited, this would have to be clearly communicated in advance. At a price of €200 per table, it's only understandable that people assume that unopened bottles belong to paying guests. The organizer's approach left a very negative impression on us. Instead of an exclusive evening in the VIP area, we were left with the feeling of being treated unfairly. For the high price, we would have expected transparency, equal treatment, and respectful interaction – all of which were lacking. Therefore, we cannot recommend the event in this form.

I was in Heidelberg with a friend over the weekend, and we went there for dinner. My friend had a Neapolitan pizza that was missing potatoes. After pointing this out to the really nice waiter, he bought us a shot. I ordered a salad, and when I ordered, the waiter told me that the burrata would be included. I ended up getting the salad without the burrata, but I ended up paying the full price. It's a shame. Despite that, the meal was really delicious, even without these two "incidents." :)

Unfortunately, we can't report anything good... The reception itself left much to be desired... We waited almost 15 minutes to be seated, in a half-empty restaurant. Without a reservation, we seemed to be viewed more as a chore than welcome guests. What followed was a test of patience unparalleled in a gastronomic setting. We waited almost two hours for our pizzas, while around us, guests who had arrived much later were already eating. Our inquiries were met with vague excuses, as if they were trying to fill us up with empty platitudes. For a restaurant with such limited occupancy, this level of inertia and lack of customer focus is simply inexcusable. Culinary delights may be possible here, but we didn't have the chance to find out, as our main meal consisted primarily of waiting. To compensate for the long wait, we received an espresso on the house. The ambiance and view immediately captivated, but the quality of the food fell short of expectations; in the end, appearances outweighed reality. We absolutely do not recommend it. Rating: 6

A beautifully situated restaurant directly on the Neckar River – the perfect place to enjoy the day. The food was fresh, lovingly prepared, and absolutely delicious. I would especially like to highlight the service: attentive, warm, yet pleasantly unobtrusive. You immediately feel welcome and well looked after. We will definitely be back!

Unfortunately, the pepperoni was forgotten on my Diavolo pizza. The pizza dough also tasted of cheap wheat flour, and the ten-euro Aperol Spritz was also a bit runny.

Yesterday I was at Pier 4, and it was absolutely amazing (in a positive way). The welcome was impressive. They took care of us immediately, and we were given a lovely table on the roof. The view was breathtaking, and the waiter was very, very nice. He recommended a drink to go with our meal. My wife had the truffle pasta and I had the lobster pasta. Both dishes were excellent, and our drinks paired perfectly with the food. The atmosphere was very idyllic and an experience in itself. I can say that this restaurant visit was one of the best I've had in a long time. Top-notch service, top-notch atmosphere, and top-notch cuisine. I immediately reserved a new table for Wednesday and am very excited to be back. I would recommend it to everyone else, too.

We're from Stuttgart and stumbled upon this restaurant quite by chance—a real stroke of luck! The food was outstanding, as was the service! Friendly, attentive, and warm, something you rarely experience these days. The location is also beautiful and contributes to the special atmosphere. We'll definitely be back next time we're in Heidelberg!

The food was only average, and the service was only 50% passionate at most, so even the friendly conversations didn't help. The location was 10/10, especially on the deck. Great weather.

It was a very enjoyable evening on the deck, enjoying the gentle breeze. Excellent food for our group of 20—a menu that included both meat and vegetarian options. According to Google, it's open on Sunday, but when we got there, we found out it's closed today because they're still cleaning up from the party the night before. We drove almost an hour just for that...

We were there for the Piazza Spritz party. The location is absolutely amazing, and the music was fantastic! Unfortunately, I've rarely had such a bad (!) Aperol Spritz, and a €5 glass of water in 30+°C is also quite a statement. :)

We reserved a table for a group of nine people about three weeks ago, but it was canceled two days in advance without any explanation. I find this outrageous, especially on a Friday during a long weekend, as many restaurants already had no tables available. We couldn't even get to the restaurant afterward.

The five of us "girls" were in Heidelberg this weekend and discovered Pier IV. We received a warm welcome. The service was excellent, as was the food. A wonderful atmosphere on the water, with subtle music in the background. We had a truly lovely afternoon on deck.

We ended up at Pier IV by chance today! The best thing that could have happened to us! Great location, friendly staff, and good food! Tobi and Fabi did a fantastic job even though they were the only ones! Thanks for the wonderful stay!

I went to Pier IV with my girlfriend today. We sat on the roof terrace and had a really nice time, enjoying delicious drinks and food. Fabi and Tobi were very busy, but still provided great service and were very friendly.

We ate here last night. Incredibly delicious pizza, especially the truffle pizza. Great view from the terrace. Minor criticism: the aioli could use a bit more garlic. Unfortunately, it just tasted like mayonnaise. The staff is super friendly, and so is their concept. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Great ambiance right on the water. There's a limited selection of dishes, but they were very tasty and carefully prepared. The slightly higher prices are appropriate for the special location, and the service was friendly; the only thing that bothered us a little was the loud acoustics.

Today I was surprised with a visit to PierIV😍 I can say in advance that the surprise was 100% successful and absolutely met my expectations (from what I'd heard)👍🏼 We immediately felt at ease from the moment we were greeted. The young man (we had a reservation) left it up to us whether we wanted a table upstairs under the open sky or downstairs in the enclosed area. Due to today's weather, we opted for the indoor area. Very modern and stylishly decorated restaurant, a great bar with well-chosen drinks. At PierIV, the slogan "less is more" fits perfectly👍🏼 I personally like clear menus with selected drinks and dishes. Less, but perfect👍🏼 For starters, we had aioli, olives, and bread. After that, we opted for pizza. One had burrata (Italian fresh cheese, usually made from cow's milk) and the other had salsiccia (a coarse Italian sausage). For me, who loves pizza, I can say that you'd have to search for a long time to find a comparable pizza in terms of taste. 😍The highlight is a pair of golden scissors for cutting the pizza. 😊 For drinks, we had a bottle of water, two espressos, a latte macchiato, a homemade lemonade, a pornstar martini, and a summer rosé, all of which tasted absolutely top-notch. 👍🏼 My conclusion: Absolutely top-notch value for money. 👍🏼Highly recommended, and I'll definitely be back. ☺️ Please keep up the good work and never let anyone take away from your friendliness, ease, and enjoyment of what you do. 💪🏽 See you soon. 😎

We went yesterday and the staff was not professional. There were plenty of table free inside and outside. They didn’t let us sit and said reservation is required. The entire evening the place was nearly empty. This is what happens when you have a good view but no one to run it well.

We had reserved a table. When we arrived we were told that the table wouldn't be ready for another 10-15 minutes and that it was a bit more difficult today due to a lack of staff (which isn't a problem in itself). So we waited at a table in the entrance area for half an hour. After another group walked past us and immediately got a table, we had enough and went to another restaurant.

Service was super nice. Unfortunately, we waited a little longer to evaluate it. The ship is beautiful, but still somewhat basic. The tables were not set and there was little ambience. Food was quite good. Unfortunately there were no vegan alternatives.

Unfortunately our visit was very disappointing. The staff was unfriendly and hardly attentive - we had to wait over 20 minutes for the menu and it was only brought to us after asking twice. The tone towards us was inappropriate and there was no apology or effort to make our stay pleasant. Overall, we had the feeling that guest satisfaction didn't play a big role here. What a shame!!

Very, very unprofessionally run restaurant. The ''boss'' (as he called himself) argues loudly with the staff and puts them down in front of all visitors. The entire conversation could be heard at the end of the store. There were about five young men on the boat (employees or friends of the "boss") and they disturbed the atmosphere, which was more reminiscent of a youth club. The service staff was at times either very pushy or nowhere to be found. The food was excellent, the prices correspond to the beautiful ambience and are therefore relatively high. Conclusion: great food and nice boat, but really strange atmosphere and poor demeanor of the staff or "the boss".

Very nice location - the food is mediocre, there is little choice - the price is expensive and the waiting time is long. Unfortunately, the service wasn't good - the waitress was friendly and tried hard but seemed overwhelmed. It's best to just go there to have a drink and enjoy the view. There is another minus point because we wanted to celebrate our anniversary there and asked for some decorations on the table - which was not done.

Wir waren leider u alt, und ich bin mit einem Rollator unterwegs, was dem Kellner nicht schmeckte. Wir setzten uns dann auf die Treppe, und beobachteten das ganze, bis unser Schiff anlegte. Nichts war reserviert. 2 Stunden lang beobachteten wir das ganze. Andere kamen tranken einen Kaffee und gingen wieder. das Oberdeck war bis auf 3 Tische unbesetzt. Traurig und entsetzlich. ich wünsche diesem arroganten Kellner, dass er das gleiche erleben muss wie ich. und er dann auch unerwünscht ist.

We had a really nice evening because everything came together. The team is caring and good-humoured and, above all, we found the prices for the food absolutely fair. We would have appreciated the prices higher given the great location, beautiful view and good music that wasn't too loud :) Thanks for the evening!

Last summer I went to Pier 4 several times to eat privately or just have a drink, especially on the terrace right on the water, it's just fantastic! Because of these great experiences, I decided to celebrate my birthday there and what can I say: it was absolutely amazing! We were a group of 40 people and the service was simply top. The team took great care of everything, regularly checked to make sure everyone was taken care of, and were consistently friendly and attentive. The music was great, the atmosphere was just great, it couldn't have been better. My friends still talk about that wonderful evening today. A huge thank you to the entire team at Pier 4, you made my birthday unforgettable!

Disappointing service despite good food We were there on April 12, 2025 for a birthday party and were actually looking forward to a nice evening. The food was really tasty - unfortunately the service was anything but good. After eating we were completely ignored for 45 minutes even though the restaurant was almost empty. Although we would have liked to have ordered something to drink and dessert, the socializing of the employees seemed to be more important than looking after the guests. To get the bill we had to go to the counter ourselves, otherwise we would probably still be sitting there today. Absolutely unacceptable! Unfortunately, a defective music box with constant cracking noises disrupted any attempts at conversation - no one felt responsible. It was very cold outside, when we asked for blankets we were rudely turned away with “there are no more”. It was only at our request that we were seated inside at a table that had not been cleared away. It's a shame, the food deserved more. Unfortunately not a place we would want to return to.

5 stars – and if I could, I would give it 6! For me, Pier 4 is not just a restaurant - it is a real highlight right on the Neckar and an absolute rarity in Heidelberg! The location on the water alone is a dream, but the food, drinks and atmosphere on offer here top it all off. Whether cocktails, a good glass of wine or really delicious food – everything is just right here. Absolutely great in taste, made with a lot of love and served perfectly. The team? Extremely warm, always in a good mood and you immediately feel welcome - as if you were visiting friends. Conclusion: Pier 4 is not only one of my favorite places in Heidelberg, but also an experience every time. Really cool restaurant with a feel-good guarantee!

Disappointing – quality and service deteriorate We used to enjoy going to Café Pier IV, but lately the quality has declined significantly. The drinks are becoming smaller and smaller, they no longer taste good, the staff are unfriendly and the food is worse. Our food arrived burnt and the coffee was way too strong. Unfortunately it wasn't a nice visit - very disappointing! Hopefully things will improve again. Until then, we'd better go somewhere else.

From coffee to food – terrible. I loved this place 3-4 years ago. I have no idea if there was a sale during that time, but the quality has plummeted. The food always gives me a stomach ache. Whether it's due to hygiene issues: I don't know, it could be. I'm guessing it's expired/spoiled. The waiters don't know their own menus; we ordered 4 main courses because they said "salads are appetizers." Mind you, there were two of us, and after another waiter brought us the 4 plates in a very cheeky and questionable manner, we were laughed at for ordering so much. P.S.: We still had to pay for the salads even though we didn't want them. A truly terrible place. The only nice thing: the view. But I'd rather sit on the steps outside and enjoy the view than ever set foot in this place again. I would gladly give it 0 stars.

I don't know whether it's due to hygiene or spoiled food - but every time it causes a stomach ache. The only plus point? The view. Were here for the first time today and came with little expectations. We were more than positively surprised! We had a truffle pasta and a pizza burrata, as well as dessert each. It was the best pizza we have tried so far. The service was also super accommodating and friendly! We will definitely come back.

Wir waren geschäftlich zum Abendessen dort. Der Service war langsam, obwohl das Restaurant kaum zur Hälfte besetzt war. Die Getränke waren unterdurchschnittlich, der Apérol Spritz war verwässert, der Gin & Tonic ebenfalls viel zu dünn. Der vorausgewählte Weißwein war zu warm und fade. Der Hauptgang war okay, kam aber zu kalt auf dem Tisch an und war selbst als Menüportion zu wenig. Einzig die Lage am Wasser ist nett, wovon man aber am Abend nichts hat. Wir kommen nicht wieder.

The location itself is quite nice. You can definitely go there for a drink. However, you should stay away from eating food that tastes more like something from the ready-made shelf. And all of this at quite high prices. The ship would be ok as a bar, but unfortunately not as a restaurant. Overall, Pier IV seems a bit unprofessional.
