We were very pleased with our visit and the service at the restaurant. Everything was done to our satisfaction, and the food was also very good. The only thing missing from the menu was the pasta 😉 Otherwise, we'd be happy to come back.

I've eaten at this restaurant several times when visiting Heidelberg and have always been impressed. The vegan burgers, in particular, were always incredibly delicious. Today I had another vegan burger, but instead of a meatball, there was a huge block of vegan (?) feta (??) on the burger. No meat substitute. Nothing. Just a white block that looked like rubber and tasted only slightly salty. The menu, as before, says 'vegan patty'. Very, very disappointing. :( The fries and salad were tasty, though.

The vegan burger was topped with a block of white cheese instead of a petty fries (as stated on the menu). Unfortunately, my partner ordered takeout, and we didn't see the mess until we got home. She's eaten there several times when she's been in town; it's always been a top-notch burger with delicious petty fries (she's already shown me photos of it!). What she brought here to share is simply a disgrace. She's so sad, and I'm incredibly angry. How can you charge €21 for something like that and still accept a tip?!?! Shame on you. Lost customers.

Even though the restaurant was very busy and hosting a class reunion, the staff was friendly and our delicious food and drinks arrived super quickly! A great restaurant!!!

The service was very friendly. The food was unfortunately lacking in quality, convenience food, and overpriced. Parking is ticket-only, even for guests. 20 minutes costs €1, free after 7 p.m. Overall, the atmosphere is chilly.

I ordered a cooked cheese schnitzel here – it was outstanding: crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, coated in a creamy cooked cheese sauce. The refreshing mango sorbet for dessert was also a highlight. Unfortunately, the pricing somewhat dampens the overall impression: an empty plate to share (a "robber's plate"), if someone is only a little hungry, costs €4, and a bottle of water costs €7. The taste is truly excellent, but the price, in my opinion, could be improved.

I proposed to my girlfriend here. I had mentioned it in advance during the reservation, and they prepared a lovely table by the riverside where the sunset creates a beautiful atmosphere. The food was served quickly and everything was perfect.

Very fast and friendly service. The three steaks were all cooked to the desired degree. The dessert was also very tasty. The location is also beautifully quiet and idyllic. We'd happily return again and highly recommend it.

The food is tasty and OK, but the burger prices are quite high, and a 300g steak isn't exactly cheap either. It's HD, after all, where prices are high.

A very delicious restaurant! We were here with a private party. The buffet food was delicious and there was something for everyone! The waitresses were super quick, and in 33-degree heat, we always had something to drink. Great service! The children were also served very attentively. The playground next door was very good! The outdoor pool is on the other side of the boathouse. It was recommended to others, and we would love to come back! ❤️

Excelente ubicación, con una hermosa vista sobre el Neckar. Un montón de historia del remo aquí, que se muestra en todas partes. No habíamos reservado una mesa, pero la encantadora camarera logró encontrarnos un lugar para 5 personas. La comida era generosa y muy sabrosa, los especiales eran con un producto de temporada. Sin duda recomiendo este lugar y volvería a ir de nuevo la próxima vez que esté en Heidelberg.

It was too cold to sit outside. Food selection rather limited. We reserved online and just managed to get a spot at the time we wanted. When we got there there were only two tables occupied. No particularly appealing dishes, more of a snack bar type. We were disappointed as we had seen this place advertised in a magazine.

We were greeted warmly, after 10 minutes the drinks were there and our order was taken. After 40 minutes we were given a small bread basket with an excuse that it was taking so long "we have new kitchen staff". Well... after another 15 minutes we asked when the food would finally come. Finally after 2 minutes it was there. The taste was good, my companion was no longer so hungry due to the waiting time and asked that the rest be packed up to take away. We received a cappuccino on the house as “compensation” for the 1 hour waiting time, which we thought was ok. After paying, we wanted to take the packed food with us, but oops the waitress had forgotten it and the kitchen had thrown it away. We declined the offer to cook it again because we didn't want to wait that long again. “If we hadn’t already paid, we would have gotten a discount.” Too bad we had already paid. The conclusion for us is - the food is good, the waiting time is far too long, the process doesn't go smoothly. The restaurant wasn't so busy that we could have turned a blind eye to the waiting time.

Wir wurden freundlich begrüßt, nach 10 Minuten waren die Getränke da und unsere Bestellung aufgenommen. Nach 40 Minuten bekamen wir einen kleinen Brotkorb mit einer Entschuldigung, dass es so lange dauert "wir haben neues Küchenpersonal". Na gut ... nach weiteren 15 Minuten haben wir nachgefragt, wann das Essen denn endlich kommt. Endlich nach 2 Minuten war es da. Geschmacklich war es gut, meine Begleitung hatte aufgrund der Wartezeit nicht mehr so viel Hunger und bat, dass der Rest eingepackt wird zum mitnehmen. Wir haben als "Entschädigung" für die Wartezeit von 1 Stunde einen Cappuccino aufs Haus erhalten, fanden wir ok. Nach Bezahlung wollten wir das eingepackte Essen mitnehmen, aber ups die Servicekraft hatte es vergessen und die Küche hatte es weggeworfen. Das Angebot das nachzukochen, schlugen wir aus, wir wollten nicht noch mal so lange warten. "Hätten wir nicht schon bezahlt, hätten wir einen Nachlass bekommen". Blöd dass wir schon gezahlt hatten. Das Fazit für uns ist - Küche gut, viel zu lange Wartezeit, der Ablauf läuft nicht rund. Das Lokal war auch nicht so gut besucht, dass wir für diese Wartezeit ein Auge zudrücken hätten können.

Bad staff does not pay attention at all. Food was okay but took a very long time.

I was there for two hours, but unfortunately I didn't get any food. After asking several times and being told that my order was the next one, I canceled it and left. I am very generous when it comes to waiting times, and in general I am very generous when it comes to mistakes, as I work in the catering industry myself. At least as a service you should seek communication and not ignore you for up to 1.5 hours and act as if nothing was happening. Even the drinks were then charged, which seemed to me to be the height of impoliteness. For me it's not about the money, but about the principle. There was no way I would have let my customers pay for the drinks - after they wasted time starving in the restaurant for two hours! - I would have rather given them a small compensation, for example in the form of a voucher, to encourage them to come again and to suggest that this evening was an isolated incident. but no. Everything was quickly swept under the rug, and something like customer loyalty is not a top priority at the boathouse. The food is definitely delicious, I was looking forward to the cheese spaetzle for a long time, which never arrived. The atmosphere is undoubtedly very nice, especially for the summer outside in front of the Neckar. The service staff was friendly, but very incompetent, inattentive and not courteous. we'll never come back.

Dear team, I have been working in the catering industry for 8 years and have rarely experienced something like this. Unfortunately it was a complete disaster for you. We had to wait over 1.5 hours in a low-medium staffed establishment to receive the message, after repeated inquiries, that our table was the next order to be prepared. Not only was the long wait due to a large reservation, we also had to watch as other guests who ordered food much later received it beforehand. We really have a lot of understanding, but we can't explain it either. Unfortunately, it seemed to us as if our order had been forgotten. And even though we know that mistakes can happen in the catering industry, we would have liked you to have been a little more accommodating to us after a 2-hour stay without food. Unfortunately we won't be coming back.

Great meal with friends. I had schnitzel and for 5 euro more they doubled the portion. I had the double and it was massive. Was also the best schnitzel I ever had.

A nice restaurant in itself, but... Our group (JGA) wasn't exactly greeted enthusiastically and then we were given a loveless table in the aisle of the terrace despite having a reservation. The restaurant wasn't at full capacity, so it's incomprehensible why we weren't allowed to sit with a view of the Neckar. Before eating I specifically said that I have a severe allergy to citrus fruits and that nothing can come into my food or drinks. My meal of 1kg of prawns came full of lemon slices. I was correspondingly angry and the service didn't even bring me a shot as an apology. I am a restaurant specialist myself and have rarely experienced anything so bottomless.

I found a temporary restaurant and it was pretty good. I ordered schnitzel and it was delicious with the sauce. The salad that comes with the meal is also a rare vegetable. The beer is also delicious. The waiter is pretty nice and he will laugh after chatting for a while. .

What a service! Table reserved, unfortunately there was a 20 minute delay, which I wanted to announce by phone in good time. Since no one was answering the phone, we drove there only to hear that the kitchen had closed 20 minutes later and we had been sent away. Absolutely underground! Never ever again!!

From the terrace of the boathouse you have a beautiful view of the Neckar. However, in between there is the busy federal highway 37, whose traffic is very loud. The daily meal was breaded chicken schnitzel with roasted potatoes. However, the breading of the schnitzel was quickly softened by the convenience sauce. The small side salad was served in a glass that was ON the plate IN the sauce - pretty unappetizing. The service was reserved, the price/performance ratio was just ok, but we won't be coming back.

Everything was fine, the food was delicious, intolerances were taken into account. Unfortunately we were sitting on the terrace and it started to rain, the umbrella didn't cover everything, but at 29° in the shade that doesn't matter 😉

I'm providing a review from a tourist's perspective. 8/23/24 €85 for 3 people. The "view?" Is the selling point for this place. Although it's a nice view of the river and town across the river, there's a busy street out in front. The food is close to inedible. The "Argentinian" steak €33.90 - ordered to medium rare was one of the toughest steaks I've ever had. It reminded me of Asado I had in Paraguay. It was meat that wouldn't breakdown no matter how much I chewed. It came with an order of fried potatoes and side salad. "Salad" €13.90 - the salad was not fresh. See photos Bacon-cheese-burger €21.90 - the patty was dry and reminiscent of cisco restaurant patty in the US. The burger came with fries and side salad. 2 beers - €? As a tourist, I definitely don't recommend the restaurant. I think it's more of a rowing club restaurant, where you can sit and eat out of convenience. The service was good. Standard european service.

Casual restaurant with a small menu, rather simple, hearty cuisine with lots of fries and burgers. Separated from the Neckar by the road (so not quite as nice as the internet photo). Good for a quick lunch or meeting after visiting the swimming pool. Rustic furnishings, friendly staff and most of them very quick.

Cenamos aquí ya que nos alojamos en Heidelberg por una noche. Nuestra camarera era tan amable y hablaba inglés fabuloso con nosotros. Las vistas al río son preciosas. La comida era preciosa y el servicio genial. La única razón por la que pusimos un 4 no 5 es que era un poco caro.

With a small selection and mediocre taste, the prices are consistently at the highest acceptable price/performance limit. Example: €2 for a thin sauce with an equally thin pork schnitzel (21.90) or €4 for a small bowl of cooked cheese on top of the basic price. The ambience is, let's say, well.

It was hyped on a website as one of 10 insider tips in Heidelberg. Typical German food. Well, everything was OK. But the food there is neither typically German nor is the location pleasant. Right on the main road, rowers' training hut, in need of some renovation. Food quality OK but no more. But the service was very friendly and helpful

To get to the Bootshaus restaurant, you have to go to Schurmannstrasse and walk into the restaurant at a parking lot that is next to a playground. You cannot enter the rowing club from the B37 Iqbal-Ufer Anyway, the food was fantastic. We ordered a cooked cheese schnitzel and a Texas bacon burger. The schnitzel was very fresh and the burher was very juicy. However, the water is VERY expensive. €7 per 0.75 liters isn't a great deal. A parking space is available outside. The atmosphere is good. What really bothers me, however, is that you have to pay €4.50 for an extra plate called “Robber Plate”! That's impossible.

It was not too easy to find the restaurant when approached from the Neckar side (back entrance). The terrace is great, I loved the view over Neckar. Food, wine, service were all great.

Very slow and unfriendly service! Charged 9 Euros for two clean plates for small children. When I asked for another small plate for our younger child so she has a clean plate, the waitress said nothing about the extra cost… cold face the whole time. The child had to wait quite long to get her plate after all dishes were served… totally ridiculous!

This is the worst restaurant I have ever experienced with unfriendly staff The citizen that costs 22 euros tastes exactly like the one from our kebab shop that costs 6 euros. The service staff is friendly and I've never experienced anything like that before Necker we were there with several people and the waitress and the people behind the bear were annoyed because there were so many people, I don't understand something like that and after paying they say what about a tip? So promising something like that is absolutely an impertinence the next time you visit .Heidelberg love a different restaurant than the Boothaus

Actually you should be able to give minus stars. The menu is very small, hardly any selection. When I asked if there was another card, I was very rudely answered, THAT'S THE CARD! Price performance completely excessive. Quality of the burgers no different than our local kebab shop and then you pay over 20 euros for it. The service was unfriendly, you could tell she wasn't interested. At the end we were rudely asked by the waitress to give us a tip. Very unfortunate!

A very nice atmosphere. It was our first time there for dinner. Very good food, all kinds of food also suitable for vegetarians. There is a beautiful view of the Neckar on the terrace. Very friendly service. We will be back. The only negative thing was that one beer was overcharged, mistakes happen. Everything else was excellent, I highly recommend the restaurant.

Friendly place with a view of the Neckar and the hills. Good and rich dishes with German specialties. The terrace is beautifully decorated and makes you want to stop there for lunch. A restaurant hidden in the houses but worth it!

Had a wonderful lunch here. The food was delicious and sitting outside was simply wonderful. Price/performance is definitely right. You get a decent amount for your money and you definitely won't be disappointed. Everything tasted great and I'll definitely be back. I can only recommend it.
