Dear team, I've been working in the restaurant industry for 8 years and have rarely experienced anything like this. Unfortunately, it was a complete disaster with you. We had to wait over 1.5 hours in a sparsely staffed restaurant, only to receive, after repeated inquiries, the message that our table was the next order to be prepared. Not only was the long wait justified by a large reservation, but we also had to watch as other guests who ordered food much later received their food first. We're really understanding, but we can't explain it either. Unfortunately, it seemed to us as if our order had been forgotten. And even though we know that mistakes can happen in the restaurant industry, we wish you had been a bit more accommodating after a 2-hour wait without food. Unfortunately, we won't be coming back.

Lovely food (good sizes), good service and good schnitzel and beer; what more could one ask for?

The food was ok. The place is nice and the service was good. The washrooms were very smelly though.

Great meal with friends. I had schnitzel and for 5 euro more they doubled the portion. I had the double and it was massive. Was also the best schnitzel I ever had.

Great restaurant, definitely worth a visit. The food (burgers and schnitzel eaten so far) is great! Very good quality and generous portions. The dessert was also excellent. The service is extremely friendly, the prices are fair and the overall package just fits. A visit here is definitely worth it.

A nice restaurant in itself, but... Our group (JGA) wasn't exactly greeted enthusiastically and then we were given a loveless table in the aisle of the terrace despite having a reservation. The restaurant wasn't at full capacity, so it's incomprehensible why we weren't allowed to sit with a view of the Neckar. Before eating I specifically said that I have a severe allergy to citrus fruits and that nothing can come into my food or drinks. My meal of 1kg of prawns came full of lemon slices. I was correspondingly angry and the service didn't even bring me a shot as an apology. I am a restaurant specialist myself and have rarely experienced anything so bottomless.

The food here is tasty, but relatively expensive, and the drinks are even more expensive (7 euros per water bottle). Atmosphere and view is fantastic

I found a temporary restaurant and it was pretty good. I ordered schnitzel and it was delicious with the sauce. The salad that comes with the meal is also a rare vegetable. The beer is also delicious. The waiter is pretty nice and he will laugh after chatting for a while. .

What a service! Table reserved, unfortunately there was a 20 minute delay, which I wanted to announce by phone in good time. Since no one was answering the phone, we drove there only to hear that the kitchen had closed 20 minutes later and we had been sent away. Absolutely underground! Never ever again!!

The staff was really very attentive, nice and helpful. The location is really nice and the food is really delicious. If we are in Heidelberg again we will definitely come back! Thanks for the great evening.

From the terrace of the boathouse you have a beautiful view of the Neckar. However, in between there is the busy federal highway 37, whose traffic is very loud. The daily meal was breaded chicken schnitzel with roasted potatoes. However, the breading of the schnitzel was quickly softened by the convenience sauce. The small side salad was served in a glass that was ON the plate IN the sauce - pretty unappetizing. The service was reserved, the price/performance ratio was just ok, but we won't be coming back.

I'm providing a review from a tourist's perspective. 8/23/24 €85 for 3 people. The "view?" Is the selling point for this place. Although it's a nice view of the river and town across the river, there's a busy street out in front. The food is close to inedible. The "Argentinian" steak €33.90 - ordered to medium rare was one of the toughest steaks I've ever had. It reminded me of Asado I had in Paraguay. It was meat that wouldn't breakdown no matter how much I chewed. It came with an order of fried potatoes and side salad. "Salad" €13.90 - the salad was not fresh. See photos Bacon-cheese-burger €21.90 - the patty was dry and reminiscent of cisco restaurant patty in the US. The burger came with fries and side salad. 2 beers - €? As a tourist, I definitely don't recommend the restaurant. I think it's more of a rowing club restaurant, where you can sit and eat out of convenience. The service was good. Standard european service.

Everything was fine, the food was delicious, intolerances were taken into account. Unfortunately we were sitting on the terrace and it started to rain, the umbrella didn't cover everything, but at 29° in the shade that doesn't matter 😉

Casual restaurant with a small menu, rather simple, hearty cuisine with lots of fries and burgers. Separated from the Neckar by the road (so not quite as nice as the internet photo). Good for a quick lunch or meeting after visiting the swimming pool. Rustic furnishings, friendly staff and most of them very quick.

With a small selection and mediocre taste, the prices are consistently at the highest acceptable price/performance limit. Example: €2 for a thin sauce with an equally thin pork schnitzel (21.90) or €4 for a small bowl of cooked cheese on top of the basic price. The ambience is, let's say, well.

Cenamos aquí ya que nos alojamos en Heidelberg por una noche. Nuestra camarera era tan amable y hablaba inglés fabuloso con nosotros. Las vistas al río son preciosas. La comida era preciosa y el servicio genial. La única razón por la que pusimos un 4 no 5 es que era un poco caro.

It was hyped on a website as one of 10 insider tips in Heidelberg. Typical German food. Well, everything was OK. But the food there is neither typically German nor is the location pleasant. Right on the main road, rowers' training hut, in need of some renovation. Food quality OK but no more. But the service was very friendly and helpful

To get to the Bootshaus restaurant, you have to go to Schurmannstrasse and walk into the restaurant at a parking lot that is next to a playground. You cannot enter the rowing club from the B37 Iqbal-Ufer Anyway, the food was fantastic. We ordered a cooked cheese schnitzel and a Texas bacon burger. The schnitzel was very fresh and the burher was very juicy. However, the water is VERY expensive. €7 per 0.75 liters isn't a great deal. A parking space is available outside. The atmosphere is good. What really bothers me, however, is that you have to pay €4.50 for an extra plate called “Robber Plate”! That's impossible.

Access refused on the pretext that there were only 2 of us... even though it was 8:30 p.m. and many tables were available.

It was not too easy to find the restaurant when approached from the Neckar side (back entrance). The terrace is great, I loved the view over Neckar. Food, wine, service were all great.

Very slow and unfriendly service! Charged 9 Euros for two clean plates for small children. When I asked for another small plate for our younger child so she has a clean plate, the waitress said nothing about the extra cost… cold face the whole time. The child had to wait quite long to get her plate after all dishes were served… totally ridiculous!

The atmosphere is better than the food itself but it's still worth to visit it. Prices are high for both food and drinks.

Actually you should be able to give minus stars. The menu is very small, hardly any selection. When I asked if there was another card, I was very rudely answered, THAT'S THE CARD! Price performance completely excessive. Quality of the burgers no different than our local kebab shop and then you pay over 20 euros for it. The service was unfriendly, you could tell she wasn't interested. At the end we were rudely asked by the waitress to give us a tip. Very unfortunate!

This is the worst restaurant I have ever experienced with unfriendly staff The citizen that costs 22 euros tastes exactly like the one from our kebab shop that costs 6 euros. The service staff is friendly and I've never experienced anything like that before Necker we were there with several people and the waitress and the people behind the bear were annoyed because there were so many people, I don't understand something like that and after paying they say what about a tip? So promising something like that is absolutely an impertinence the next time you visit .Heidelberg love a different restaurant than the Boothaus

A very nice atmosphere. It was our first time there for dinner. Very good food, all kinds of food also suitable for vegetarians. There is a beautiful view of the Neckar on the terrace. Very friendly service. We will be back. The only negative thing was that one beer was overcharged, mistakes happen. Everything else was excellent, I highly recommend the restaurant.

Friendly place with a view of the Neckar and the hills. Good and rich dishes with German specialties. The terrace is beautifully decorated and makes you want to stop there for lunch. A restaurant hidden in the houses but worth it!

Had a wonderful lunch here. The food was delicious and sitting outside was simply wonderful. Price/performance is definitely right. You get a decent amount for your money and you definitely won't be disappointed. Everything tasted great and I'll definitely be back. I can only recommend it.

To get this straight, the only unsatisfactory thing about my experience here was finding the right path or the entrance. We came from the Neckar and initially walked around the entire block without any sense of direction because you can only get to the restaurant entrance from the side facing away from the river. But once we got that behind us, the visit was characterized exclusively by positive experiences. The food was excellent and the prices were quite fair considering the current times. I can particularly emphasize the service. We were able to place our orders immediately (as soon as they were ready) and the waiting times were really pleasantly short. We still had a technical problem with the ordering system, which led to a delay - which was, in my opinion, bearable -, but we were still offered extra coffee/dessert on the house as "compensation" for this. There was generally a very pleasant atmosphere, including among the employees themselves, who were all very friendly and attentive. Thank you for the great experience! I definitely won't be here for the last time :D

We went to the boathouse today! Certainly a nice location! Unfortunately the food was extremely weak - there were 6 of us there and it was 5/6 not tasty! For the prices one would have generally expected a different quality of the dishes (burger = ready patti, “freshly caught” sea bream certainly not freshly caught, venison goulash warmed up). Maybe we had a bad day, but it's still a shame.

Schön gelegen am Neckar mit supi Aussicht. Bisschen schwierig zu finden - je nachdem von welcher Seite man kommt. Toller Service - lecker kühles Bier gab es auch. Beautifully located on the Neckar with a great view. A bit difficult to find - depending on which side you come from. Great service - there was also delicious cold beer. Food was served in a reasonable time - good portions and very tasty. It's a bit rustic inside - but has a lot of charm. Price-performance ratio is also right. I can only recommend

We came to this restaurant very spontaneously and were extremely positively surprised! The food was first class and the service was also very, very friendly and relaxed. The atmosphere is extremely pleasant and you just feel very comfortable. Absolutely deserved 5 stars! Again and again :)

We celebrated a family celebration in the boathouse. Indoors in February of course. Food (menu) was great! Celebrating outside is certainly great, with a view of the Neckar! Several parking spaces available.

Essen war gut, Service sehr gut, freundlich und zuvorkommend. Leider Akkustik nicht so doll, da viele Leute anwesend. Man bot uns anderen Tisch an, aber wir wollten eh gleich gehen.

Wir waren am 13. Oktober 2023 dort. Saßen mit direktem Blick auf den Neckar. Sehr geil. Die Bedienungen und der Service waren sehr zuvorkommend und sehr freundlich. Die Essenportionen waren sehr groß. Reservierung empfohlen, da es sehr voll ist, was ein gutes Zeichen ist! Ich kann das Bootshaus nur empfehlen. Ich habe ein Schnitzel mit Kochkäse gegessen, das war mega und sehr viel. Ich war einfach nur papp satt. Und das für einen normalen Preis. Also hin ins Bootshaus! Ich habe bei anderen die Currywurst probiert. Ist echt zu empfehlen!

Wir waren für eine Nacht in Heidelberg und haben hier gegessen. Service sehr freundlich und schnell, obwohl sehr viele Amerikaner dort waren.

Servings are more than enough for 1 person. Although they don't have an English menu, the staff was very gracious to offer to translate. I had the curry bratwurst and it was great!

Sehr schöne Location, sehr freundliche Bedienung. Ich hatte einen sehr leckeren Texas-Bacon-Burger, meine Frau das Bruschetta mit Salat. Leider war das viel zu viel Essig im Salat. Schade.

Der vegetarische Burger war leider nicht besonders gut. Ich würde sagen das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis stimmt nicht ganz. Das Ambiente ist durch die Laute angrenzende Straße etwas gestört. Der Service war zuvorkommend und nett! Trotzdem würde ich das Restaurant eher nicht weiterempfehlen.

Solide Küche und sehr freundlicher Service

Nette Atmosphäre aber leider viele Spinnen und Spinnenweben an der Decke und in den Ecken. Die Speisen sollten überdacht werden (inbesondere Karottensuppe als Vorspeise, da ist noch Luft nach oben).

Waren gestern das erste Mal im Bootshaus, Erwachsene und ein Kind. Die Gerichte auf der Speisekarte sind einfache Gerichte, kein Firlefanz, dafür aber von sehr guter Qualität und große Portionen. Alle Gerichte waren liebevoll zusammengestellt und auch die Beilegen nett hergerichtet. Hervorzuheben waren die Pommesfrites; kann mich nicht erinnern, wann ich das letzte Mal so gute Pommesfrites zum Essen bekommen habe. Beide Bedienungen waren sehr zuvorkommend und nett, was man wirklich betonen muß. Alles in allem eine nette Lokation und einen Besuch wert, vor allem, wenn man richtigen Hunger hat.

Nice patio overlooking the river. Beer selection was very limited though. For some reason, their kitchen shut early on Sunday - we were there before 6pm and only could get salad. Gave a 4* review anyway, as the food coming out to other tables looked great.

Leider sind die Portionen der veganen Gerichten zu klein und zu teuer. Sowohl das Kichererbsencurry als auch der veggie Burger waren nicht wirklich lecker. Der Aussicht zum Neckar ist schön.
