The food was okay. The pizza was too oily in my opinion. What bothered us most was the feeling of being constantly watched. A woman, perhaps a manager, wearing glasses, kept looking at us with a serious expression. Other employees also hung around the entrance and seemed to enjoy watching people eat and chat. My family and I have been visiting this restaurant for several years because the food is always good and the prices are reasonable. The service used to be extremely friendly and courteous, but unfortunately, that has changed significantly. On our last visit, we had a very unpleasant experience. A woman, presumably the manager, served us in a dismissive and unfriendly manner. She seemed annoyed, spoke in a stern tone, and displayed no warmth at all. We had ordered a tiramisu for dessert. After we had already finished our coffees and waited 20 minutes, we asked to cancel the dessert. The waitress reacted angrily and forcefully stated that this wasn't possible because the tiramisu was already being prepared. However, we hadn't been informed of this beforehand. When we explained that we had already been waiting so long, she loudly insisted that if we didn't have time, we should go to McDonald's. Even worse: She swore repeatedly, even threw the receipt at my father at the end, and treated us with a level of disrespect we'd never experienced before. The other guests at the next table were also shocked. We are very disappointed and sad that an otherwise lovely restaurant with good food has been cast in such a bad light by such disrespectful treatment of paying guests.

The food was delicious. Unfortunately, the service was awful. We had to find a table ourselves. It took forever before we were served. We weren't even taken care of during our stay. The staff were generally very unfriendly. I've rarely seen such poor service before. It's a shame, because the food was truly excellent.

Solid pizza and very fast & good service

We visited this restaurant located in the large square of a small, quiet village in central Germany. We had made reservations in advance for three people, so there was no wait upon arrival. The waitress was very kind and let us choose our preferred table, thanks to the availability of seats. As soon as we were seated, we were brought the simple menu, printed on white paper with the words "Italian Restaurant." I must say, I've finally found a restaurant that truly strives to reflect Italian cuisine—and it partially succeeds! We ordered a carbonara, a sliced meat dish with a side of baked potatoes, and a seafood risotto. • The carbonara was really good, made with bucatini-style pasta (probably fresh and homemade, you could taste it!), but unfortunately there was a bit of cream, and the guanciale was packaged bacon instead. Not perfect, but the effort was commendable. • The meat was tender and well-cooked, accompanied by flavorful baked potatoes. • The seafood risotto surprised us: we were a little skeptical about the freshness of the fish (probably frozen), but the flavor was excellent. The place, while not having a particularly "Italian" feel, is very welcoming. At one point, the owner kindly approached us to ask if everything was okay, noticing that we hadn't touched the food in a while (we were just chatting). This gesture made us feel truly welcomed. In short: excellent food, a warm welcome, and a pleasant atmosphere. We'll gladly return. One word of advice: no cream or pancetta in the carbonara... that would be the extra touch for a fifth star!

We received a friendly welcome and were immediately shown to our reserved table. The pizzas, mixed salad, and bruschetta were delicious. The service was very attentive and friendly. We would gladly return.

Enjoyed a delightful dinner at Pizza Grande—ordered the Parmigiano 🍕. Perfectly crisp crust, creamy Parmesan, and just the right balance of flavors.

We had three servers, so we all said the same thing three times. The food was quite plentiful but of average quality. I'd rather have less but better quality. Especially considering the prices. €15 for a simple pasta dish is on the high end, in my opinion.

Food GREAT, employees FLOP! The 2 stars go to the kitchen because the food was very good. From salad to pizza and tagliatelle, very fine. We ate yesterday in the Piazza Grande and had reservations for Mother's Day. When we arrived to be intercepted so that we could be assigned our place, we were left standing and ignored for many minutes. We didn't get around to saying that we made reservations as ordered and didn't pick up. All the specialists simply walked past us. We then went in to tell the counter that we were there?! The boss, who initially ignored us until we shouted hello a little louder, then led us to the table. All the employees were annoyed, listless, didn't make a facial expression, and were unfriendly. You didn't feel welcome. What happened here? The service staff used to be funny, motivated and friendly. There's a lot written in the comments about a certain "listless" employee and I know exactly who that means. A young blonde woman with her hair tied in a ponytail. We were treated so unkindly and we tried to put on a good face in spite of the bad behavior, thanked us as we should, for everything that was brought, tried to make eye contact, smiled - but at some point it was just enough. We were 5 women and it was the last time we were there. It's a shame about the kitchen and the delicious food. But not like that!

When we asked if we could eat something, we got a cheeky answer and the serving lady was listless. We waited at the table for 20 minutes and weren't served at all, even though the waiter walked past three times and saw us, instead he cleared tables. So then we left again. Actually zero stars!!! Never again!!!!

It was the first warm Saturday in March. The garden terrace was correspondingly full and the staff was under a bit of pressure. We looked for a place ourselves because no one was paying attention to us. The waitress came relatively quickly to clear up and take the drinks. We also ordered food straight away. The food and drinks were served without words, well. The food was really excellent, we had meat, it was really excellent. The staff wasn't really friendly, stressed, taciturn, you could still accept that. As we finished our drinks we saw more guests approaching, a service employee with a grumpy face was constantly busy clearing up, watching the new guests choose their seats: then he shook his head, mumbled something contemptuous in Italian and shook his head again. So really, very unfriendly. You could be happy that business is going so well. If you don't have to choose a spot yourself, there should be a sign at the front with this information. Therefore I would no longer visit this company.

Essen war sehr gut, dazu kann man nichts sagen aber Service war eine katastrophale. Lange Wartezeit bis das essen kommt, man wird nicht beachtet wenn das Service benötigt wird. Danach lange Wartezeit bis der Tisch abgeräumt wird, man muss fast betteln, dass man bezahlen kann um zu gehen.

Super essen und super Service. Mit Abstand der beste Italiener der Stadt. Das Restaurant ist sehr modern eingerichtet.

The two of us were there on December 5th, 2024 to eat a salad. After the first bite, we quickly noticed that the salad was inedible (bitter) and the fried chicken on it was very dry. When we brought this to the attention of the service, we were told that everything was fine in the kitchen, that they had tried the salad and that they couldn't imagine that our salad was so bad. It seemed to us as if they didn't want to believe us. The service was very bad, didn't take care of us. I had been there several times before and I always liked it. Now I can no longer recommend this restaurant.

Pasta dishes completely inedible, staff unmotivated and unfriendly...Instead of asking whether you want another dessert or a coffee, you are skillfully ignored by three listless "service staff" shuffling around (but they are in a hurry to clear your plate). To get the bill you have to get up and ask at the counter. Worst anniversary experience...Never again.

We were there with a larger group. Everything worked out well. The food was delicious. And the staff was very friendly.

First impression is chic. Second impression, well the table could use some cleaning. The feel-good climate is great, but that's because I prefer it rustic. But the food was super tasty. The service was quite ok.

Fresh fish...and good pizza dough

The food in this restaurant was very tasty, especially the pizza. The edge was crispy and tasted great, but the middle was a bit very doughy. It would have been good to leave it in the oven for another 2 minutes, but that's not a bad thing and can happen sometimes. The selection of pizzas is not huge, but the most important varieties are represented on the menu. It's nice to sit outside in the summer, and the indoor area is large, very chic and clean. The service was friendly and courteous, not intrusive, but always attentive - as soon as you had a concern, someone was there straight away. The price of the restaurant is absolutely reasonable. The only point of criticism is the parking situation: there are hardly any free parking spaces nearby, you often have to resort to paid alternatives such as an underground car park. Card payment is possible without any problems.

We were here last night with ten adults and five children. The service was very friendly and attentive, and the children were given crayons and coloring books. We had starters, main course and dessert. Everything was excellent! We felt very comfortable and welcome and would be happy to come back. Thank you so much for that ❣️

On August 17th, 2024, six of us decided to dine in this restaurant. When we asked for a reservation, we were told that no reservations were possible at the moment. When we arrived at the restaurant we were asked if we had a reservation. After waiting half an hour, we were assigned to our table. The waitress who served us was extremely rude and unaccommodating. The food was good, but the service was not enjoyable.

Good food, but that doesn't make up for the unfriendly service. We didn't feel welcome.

Very friendly staff. The pizza we ate there was very tasty. As always.🫠 Since I can't manage a whole pizza, we always order a pizza for 2. That's no problem there at all. The great thing about the pizzeria is that the quality is always consistently great. Oh, before I forget, the chili oil is so delicious.😉For me, one of the best pizzerias in Waldshut. I recommend the Piazza Grande with a clear conscience.

It's just nice to sit outside and nice staff

So we had dinner there at 9:00 p.m. The waiters were really excited that we decided to eat there. We noticed this and asked if there was anything else to eat, otherwise we'd move on and we were told yes. However, the service was so lousy that they cursed in Italian that we had arrived so late. You could have just told us no, there is nothing left. It's a shame to make such guests even though you want to spend money and eat something in a good mood. After all, it's not a cheap restaurant.

Cozy place. Very helpful staff. We were unable to change tables due to rain. We ordered a nostramo pizza (good but with little salt) and a sea bream with boiled vegetables (2 separate dishes and without any decoration and with a few too many bones). Once inside they forgot. I asked for a coffee and the bill 3 times.

Top pizza. Good prices. Fast service. If it were a little friendlier = 5 stars.

The food tasted good and, above all, was reasonably priced. The plate with the Viennese schnitzels could have used a small tomato and parsley on the edge of the plate, because the eyes eat with them.

Very attentive and the food is served quite quickly. When you order they bring out some bread with oils for you while you wait for the food. We started with a varied starter to share while we waited for the food, which in itself was quite good and fine, since it has a lot of fish such as octopus, cuttlefish and so on. Then we each took a main. The cremolato rissotto itself was great with chopped shrimp, in addition to the dish being very filling. Then Piatto tricolore, perfect to try some of the different pastas they have if you don't decide for the first time! And then the lasagna and a pizza, they weren't bad; although to highlight the risotto to my liking. Quite reasonable price in my opinion, we will return!

I've known the Piazza Grande for years and I always enjoy going there. The food was good and the service was nice and accommodating. Last Saturday I was there again and the service was extremely unfriendly and the pizza was no longer of the same quality as before. Very unfortunate. In addition, 2 x street musicians were able to play their music unhindered and then beg for money at the tables. Conversation was no longer possible. I don't understand why people allow something like that. I have nothing against street musicians, but on the street I can decide for myself whether I want to stop or keep walking. Here you are at the mercy.

Disaster personnel We were asked to wait for a table and others can walk up to the tables and get a seat even though we are waiting. Food would actually be good in and of itself. Don't take another step in there.

THE ICE TEA FOR ADULTS IS BAD AND TOO LITTLE. STAFF DISASTER

Spaghetti appears to be made from egg noodles! A no go at the Italian restaurant! The starter was ok, the staff was friendly throughout. The website is hilarious: I'd rather have less blah with texts that slide off in all directions and instead have a menu card.

We liked the pizza, but unfortunately not so much the starter. Since it is rather small, it can get very loud.

Unfortunately, it was too changeable, sometimes good, then not so much... Starter rocket salad and mixed salad were good. Pizza Marina (seafood) for the second time only squid and 5 shrimps for €14.50. If I complain, I'll tell the kitchen. It's no use if I pay the full price or no espresso on the house or they say 2-3 € less..it's a shame...2x it was great, 2x like now...Conclusion is no longer coming...

There were 5 people there yesterday, I had homemade fettucine with porcini mushroom sauce, it was really very tasty and a large portion, everyone was very happy with their dishes, my verde salad was also a good portion, unfortunately you had to put the salad sauce yourself on it I didn't think it was that great mixing the vinegar, oil and pepper on the table, but the prices are reasonable. The restaurant was fully occupied and guests even had to wait until a seat became available, so a reservation is necessary at least on Saturday evenings. There was also fresh bread, which was very tasty. Everyone was happy with their food, we would love to come back. Actually forgot to take photos of the food for the first time

Excellent food with decent prices. Service was great and the pizza was as delicious as the lasagne. I would definitely come back here to try other dishes in the future.

Waren mit einer befreundeten Familie und insgesamt 5Kindern am Samstagabend dort essen. Das Restaurant war kaum besetzt. Das Essen hat gut geschmeckt, war super warm und gute Portionen. Also am Essen soweit nichts gross zu bemängeln. Jedoch liess leider der Service zu wünschen übrig. Da ich mit meinem Sohn erst einige Minuten später ins Lokal kam, hat man uns keine Speisekarte mehr ausgehändigt, ist ja nicht weiter tragisch. Keine Freundlichkeit der blonden Bedienung, schien genervt und absolut wortkarg, schien gar nicht motiviert. Beim Verteilen der Menüs/Getränke mussten wir Gäste immer sagen, wer was bestellt hat, erwarte schon von so einem Lokal etwas mehr Professionalität. Abrechnung direkt halbiert zu bekommen war auch nicht möglich, Kopfrechnen also angesagt 😉 Also Essen top, Service flop😁

Vorspeise bis Dessert alles super lecker! Wir kommen gerne wieder. Ambiente ebenfalls sehr einladend. Tiefgarage direkt angrenzend.

Ein sehr schöner Abend in wunderbarer Gesellschaft bei tollem Essen... Wiederholung garantiert. Das Carpaccio vom Rind, Vorspeiseteller, Saltimbocca und Picata Milanese waren wirklich klasse und eine besondere Empfehlung wert.

Der Belag der Pizzen ist am schwimmen. Meine Pizza war sich am auflösen so flüssig war es, sowas darf nicht passieren, erst Recht nicht für den Preis. Die größte Enttäuschung.

A vasútállomástól pár percnyire, az aluljárón át, a sétáló utca felé tartva található. Kellemes hely, figyelmes kiszolgálás. Pizzát fogyasztottunk. A feltét rendben volt, az alaptészta lehetett volna vastagabb.Az üdìtő italok rendben.

Erstklassig, mehr braucht man nicht dazu sagen

Ein wunderschönes italienisches Restaurant mit grosszügiger, gemütlicher Terrasse. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und humorvoll. Dazu hebt sich das Essen von der Vorspeise bis zum Dessert weit über andere Pizzerien ab. Hier kann man essen wie in Italien......

Sehr freundlicher Service, Speisen waren hervorragend.

Aroma und Geschmack sind sehr gut kombiniert und alles wirkt frisch. Auch das Tiramisu und Cortino ist fantastisch. Die brasilianische Kellner ist stets freundlich, das vermisse ich etwas bei den anderen Kellnern.

The ambience is good, especially outside in the terrace. Inside the ambience was fine. The food did not meet my expectations. I had the calzone with the spinach and found it lacking in flavour and taste. Service could have been better - the waiters didn’t speak English. They didn’t take the effort to understand our requirements as well as I would have expected.

Sehr gutes Essen, Pizza mit Gorgonzola zu empfehlen, top Service und im Sommer auf der Terrasse angenehm zu sitzen.
