Very cool pizzas. The owner is always friendly and the shop is small but still comfortably furnished. Because of the stone oven it's always nice and warm and the ceiling is illuminated with LED strips on the edge.

I would give 0 stars if I could. We ordered pizza online and then came to pick it up. Our order wasn't processed due to a mistake on their part, but we were treated as if it was our fault. We then waited another 15 minutes for our pizza. One of 2 was wrong so we went back and wanted to change it. Then we waited another 10 minutes and the pizza was brought out. SHE WAS WRONG AGAIN, but we were treated so disrespectfully that we didn't dare go in again. And unfortunately it wasn't tasty either and the evening was a waste

By far one of the top 5 pizzas I have eaten worldwide. Small, inconspicuous shop but with great expertise. Very friendly, warm and accommodating. All extras can be implemented. The pizzas are extremely tasty, perfectly topped and perfectly seasoned. There are very imaginative combinations on the map. Something for everyone. The wood oven also gives the taste the perfect touch. Top top top!!!!!! Perfectly priced and nothing to complain about. In any case the best pizzeria in Darmstadt and probably nationwide too.

After a walk with our dogs, we wanted to fortify ourselves with a pizza. After I noticed that the guests who came after us received their pizzas, I became suspicious. My companion often eats here and said that it always takes a little longer. I still preferred to ask about the whereabouts of our order - and lo and behold, they forgot about us. After a few minutes (1 hour in total) we finally received our pizzas. Remember, cash only.

It was probably a small kiosk that now simply has a pizza oven in the middle of the room. Very impressive. The colleague is very nice and the pizza tastes delicious.

Everything was fine. Personally, I found the edge of my pizza to be too thick and the pizza wasn't quite cooked through (the base was very soft). The guys at the counter are super nice.

During a weekend trip we ended up at Papa IYAD's Pizzeria through Google reviews. The restaurant is very small but full of charm. The boss himself was at the pizza oven and was very friendly and attentive. The pizzas were phenomenal, the dough was great, the portions were large and super delicious. We felt very comfortable there and every pizza fan should stop by there.

Take some time at peak times but it's worth it, the pizza is awesome. Best pizza in Darmstadt!!

Pizza baked in a wood-fired oven. It looks a bit small at first glance, but you'll feel really full afterwards. Seems thick edge, but it's also a very good edge. The baker isn't particularly talkative, that's not a problem, he makes very good pizza.

The pizza is one of the best in Darmstadt. Sometimes you are served but not always. Evaluating the ambience is subjective, but it's definitely not fancy: overall, a nice place and a relaxed environment.

This pizza is through the roof! I've actually never had a better meal in Darmstadt, Germany. EVERYTHING is fresh here, no ready-made products or pickled canned stuff. The tomato sauce on the pizza is so fresh and fruity that every pizzeria can get a slice of it, you can taste that it has been extensively cooked and reduced - amazing! The dough - without words. Fluffy, juicy, spicy, simply something very special. The creations are in a combination that I have never seen on a pizza menu before...rosemary, pear, truffle, buffalo morzarella...and it tastes simply fantastic! Added to this is the affordable price. Here you work with heart and not for a golden spoon. The quality is thoroughly convincing! Was there for the first time last weekend and again today and soon again :-) the ambience is a bit pale and could perhaps be improved a bit with a few plants/flowers and small place mats, I think the oven is sometimes a bit too hot there every now and then Unfortunately the edge burns a bit - there is still room for improvement here :-). Otherwise, I'm super satisfied and also like the diverse range of drinks - it's great that there's not just Cola and Fanta, but also different types of Bionade. I'm full and happy at home and am already looking forward to the next culinary delight!

Super authentic neapolitain style pizza. In my opinion the best in Darmstadt. The interior is pretty barebones but the pizza makes up for everything. Highly recommended! The pizzas can also be made vegan by leaving off the cheese (see photo).

The most important thing in a pizza is the dough, and at PAPA IYADs it is really top 👍 But the rest is also right and, in my opinion, makes the pizza the best in Darmstadt.

Definitely the best pizza in the city, traditionally baked in a wood-fired oven at a sensationally fair price. The boss knows his craft and offers delicious creations. Inside there are a few tables in the small dining room. You sit outside in front of the restaurant in the beautiful Woogsviertel. Everything is quite basic and still super charming because it is very authentic. Completely different from the numerous overpriced pizzerias in Darmstadt, which rely more on appearances than on quality.

I agree with other recommendations, best pizza in Darmstadt with a really great dough from a nice owner from a real wood-fired oven. Excellent!

Very tasty pizzas! The dough is original Italian and is baked in a hot oven. I usually have problems with yeast dough, but not here. Ingredients for the topping are very fresh and good! There are a few seating options inside and outside, but so far we have only ordered and picked up (easy online too). Ordering and picking up has previously taken a maximum of 30-40 minutes. TOP! The only drawback: Sometimes the dough is burnt/charred in many places and is really not edible, that could be improved.

I haven't eaten pizza there since the pandemic. The week then ordered and picked up (Margherita). One of the two pizzas had a 3/4 charred crust. The crust was otherwise delicious and the dough was generally great. However, the cheese was so thickly topped and wasn't baked all the way through. That was inedible. Sure - it's a matter of taste when it comes to the amount of cheese, but unfortunately it wasn't edible for me.

Highly recommended, and definitely get the Pizza Bianco 👍. Were playing football next door and ordered 5 pizzas to take away - very reliable timing. We'll be back 👍

Ordered pizza yesterday and it was very tasty. No run-of-the-mill delivery pizza. You can taste the fresh ingredients and the fact that it is made in a wood oven is highly recommended! Definitely one of the best pizzas in Darmstadt. Addendum 2023: Pizza is still good, but in my opinion there are now better pizzas on one corner or another in Darmstadt.

SUPER LECKER - wie andere schon schrieben: oftmals ist der Pizzarand nicht so toll, hier ist er phantastisch, fluffig und lecker. Wir haben gerade eben 2 Pizzen abgeholt und geniessen zuhause 🍕🍕🍕 Im Sommer ist draussen sitzen auch sehr entspannt. Manchmal muss man etwas mehr Zeit mitbringen, wenn es sehr voll ist. Hier kann man eine der besten Holzofen-Pizzen von Darmstadt essen. Normalerweise esse ich den Rand einer Pizza nicht, aber diesen schon. So luftig und locker und dabei nicht trocken. Die Atmosphäre ist ungezwungen. Man bestellt am Tresen und bekommt dann die Pizza an den Tisch gebracht. Die Herstellung der Speisen erfolgt sauber und ordentlich. Das finde ich auch nicht unwichtig.

Ich habe nicht die Pizza bekommen, die ich bestellt habe, sondern eine mit knoblauch

Pizza war lecker aber leider auch einige aus. Meine Begleitung wollte ihre Pizza ohne Knoblauch, hat aber eine mit bekommen, da in der Tomatensoße bei denen immer Knoblauch drin ist. Sie musste das ganze selbst raus richen, die Bedienung war freundlich aber etwas unaufmerksam.

Die Pizzen fallen etwas kleineres, sind aber sehr lecker . Allerdings lässt der Service zu wünschen übrig . Man wartet im Zweifel sehr lange . Der Service und der Pizzabäcker wirkten sehr gestresst und scheinen überfordert zu sein .

Zum Essen: Die Steinofen-Pizzen sind groß und schmecken echt gut ! Zum Service: Der freundliche Koch könnte statt halb self-service noch Unterstützung im Aussenbereich vertragen. Zum Ambiente: Hier treibt sich aktuell ein Suffkopf herum. Man wurde am draussen-Tisch beim warten auf eine leckere Pizza von dieser Person bequatscht und aufdringlich mit einem Pizzastück "beschenkt". Bei freundlicher Signalisierung die "gute Geste" nicht annehmen zu möchten, reagierte diese angetrunkene Person gekränkt, agressiv und feuerte ihr Pizzastück in die Ecke. Nach deeskalierenden Worten zog sie weiter.

Habe mit meiner Freundin zusammen gestern erst eine Pizza bestellt, die uns allerdings so gut geschmeckt hat, dass wir nach wenigen Minuten die nächste geholt haben. Die Pizza ist soweit ganz gut, aber bei mir war recht wenig Belag drauf und und der Käse war fast nur in der Mitte. Daher war ich die meiste Zeit damit beschäftigt Rand zu essen. Die Bestellung wurde leider auch nicht richtig umgesetzt und es waren recht lange Wartezeiten. Positiv fand ich die günstigen Getränkepreise!

Ich habe mein Leben lang keine Pizza gemocht. Seit ich diese Pizza probiert habe, hat sich das geändert. Der Teig ist ein Traum, der Belag spitze. Ich persönlich mag das Öltopping nicht und bestelle es immer ab. Der Inhaber ist freundlich und hat immer Zeit für einen kurzen Plausch. Draußen kann man wunderbar sitzen. Ohne viel Schnickschnack. Oder man nimmt seine Pizza mit und futtert sie in den nahe gelegenen Parks. Kinder sind willkommen und bekommen und stören nicht.

We were passing through Darmstadt and chanced upon this small pizzeria. I have never before seen such a great selection of pizzas with truly original and unusual variations. The restaurant is a small outfit but the taste and quality of the ingredients were superb. Certainly better than any pizza I have eaten elsewhere in Europe including Italy. I will undoubtedly come back and other friends that I have in Germany have it on their list to visit.

Wenn Sie einfach nur die beste Pizza der Stadt essen möchten, dann kommen Sie zum Pizzaessen. Das ist es, was Iyad am besten kann. Er macht einige der interessantesten und ungewöhnlichsten Topping-Mischungen, die ich je erlebt habe. Ich muss noch eines ausprobieren, das keine Lust auf mehr macht. Iyad ist ein wahrer Künstler mit einer lebenslangen Leidenschaft für Pizza, die sich im fertigen Produkt widerspiegelt. Der Service ist aufgrund der Nachfrage und der Tatsache, dass es sich um einen sehr kleinen Laden handelt, nicht immer schnell. Das Warten lohnt sich! Wirklich lecker, aber man muss einen wirklich (sehr) dicken Teig mögen! Dass der lecker ist und von guter Qualität, genauso wie der Belag, steht außer Frage, nur ganz so meins war es nicht. Einfach Geschmacksache! ;-)

Ungewöhnliche angenehme Athmosphäre. Draußen viel zum Sitzen, drinnen zwei Tische. Es wird dort auch viel zur Lieferung oder Abholung bestellt. Nach diversen Stationen in der Gastronomie hat der Besitzer hier sein Meisterwerk geschaffen. Die Pizza ist wirklich super lecker, über die Sauce bis zum Belag. Den gestaltet natürlich der Gast selbst. Die Auswahl an vorkonfigurierten Pizzen ist groß, es ist sehr schwer sich zu entscheiden. Wir wollten noch einen italienischen Salat, doch es gab nur noch Caprese. Da die Sachen ja frisch sein sollen war halt manches aus. Die Caprese war sehr gut, frische Tomatenscheiben mit einem großen Mozzarellaball in der Mitte und Basilikum drauf. Viele Rezensionen berichten von langen Wartezeiten. Ja, doch Geduld lohnt sich. Einfach was zu trinken aus dem Kühlschrank nehmen und die Zeit genießen. Alkohol gab es übrigens keinen. Auch ok.

Wir holen uns regelmäßig Pizza bei Papaiyads - und sie ist jedes Mal fantastisch! Der Teig an sich ist schon ein Gedicht, die Zutaten immer frisch und qualitativ hochwertig. Besuch wird auch obligatorisch mit dieser Pizza versorgt. Besonders empfehlen kann ich die Veggie, Margherita und Hawaii :).

Wir essen gerne dort die Pizza ist klasse hat gute Zutaten und frisch. Im Sommer lässt es sich super draußen sitzen. Alles ist sehr einfach gehalten, aber das macht die gute Pizza wieder weg.

Online-Bestellung sollte dringend überarbeitet werden! Die Pizzeria nimmt Bestellungen an, bei denen es +1h Wartezeit (bei Abholung!!) gibt. Man muss also vor Ort 1 Stunde warten! Das ist nicht akzeptabel leider und ließe sich vermeiden, in dem realistischere Zeiten genannt werden würden.

Also das Essen schmeckt sehr gut. Kombinationen der Pizzen sind auch richtig genial, also ich kann es nur weiterempfehlen. PS: ist ein kleiner Laden und die habe das beste draus gemacht.... Wer da einen Service wie im Glasschrank erwartet soll erst gar nicht hin gehen....

Super leckere Pizza, frisch aus dem Holzofen. Man schmeckt, dass hochwertige Zutaten verwendet werden und der Chef mit Liebe zu seinem Produkt arbeitet. Wir kommen gerne vorbei, da es schnell geht und man auch mit Kind unkompliziert vor Ort essen kann. Eine absolute Empfehlung!

Ich habe die Pizza Veggi mit gegrilltem Knobigemüse gegessen und kann sie nur weiter empfehlen. Sehr leckerer Boden, viel Gemüse und ein wirklich guter Geschmack. Der Besitzer ist zudem sehr sympathisch.
