Pancho Coco in Pulheim

We, a group of seven women, entered Coco Pancho on a Wednesday evening without a reservation. We were confidently shown to a table. A cool male server managed the cheerful, sometimes a bit too loud, and occasionally inattentive table with coolness and professionalism. The food was excellent and freshly prepared. The drinks were also excellent. The interior matched the overall impression. I loved it there.

The food was very good, and the service was really very good, but when the bill arrived, there were some unpleasant surprises: We regularly eat at many restaurants, even very high-end ones, and I always order a large bottle of water. It has never been more than €7.50. I had also looked at the menu online beforehand, and it was €6.50 at this restaurant, so it was all the more surprising that it should have cost a whopping €9.50. To be fair, I have to say that this price was also shown on the menu on the table, but as I said, I had looked online. However, the price for ginger ale was also shown as €2.70, but it should now be €4.50 because only 0.3 liters are served on the terrace. There was no indication of this, neither on the menu nor when ordering. All in all, you should be very careful about what you drink. And I still think €9.50 for 0.75 l of water is extremely excessive.

The food took forever to arrive. I ordered four beers while waiting and waiting and waiting. When the burrito arrived it was about half the size I was expecting for that price.

So, I highly recommend Coco Pancho in Pulheim! 🍹 The food was super delicious and fresh, and the cocktails were really well-made. Not only did they taste great, they also looked great. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive; you immediately felt at home. The whole atmosphere is really nice and cozy. Perfect for a relaxed evening meal or a drink. As a bonus, we even got a voucher for two free cocktails – really cool! I'd definitely say: it's worth a visit!

The wait for the food was a bit long, even though the restaurant was quiet at the time. All special requests regarding allergies, etc., were accommodated well. The ambiance was okay, but unfortunately a bit dated. The service was excellent; a nice young man and courteous.

Reservations and communication were relaxed and easy. Since it had stopped raining, they were quickly able to open the outdoor area. The ambiance feels somewhat simple, more like a beach snack bar. The service was attentive and polite. The food did take a while, about 45 minutes, even though the place wasn't full. The quality of the food, however, didn't blow us away without being truly bad. The texture of our mixed tacos and the burger was reasonably consistent, but overall, it lacked a certain flavor. The side salad was very simple with yogurt dressing, and the tacos came with simple sour cream. The seasoning and flavor were also far too bland for a Mexican restaurant. The fries were quite dark and a bit leathery and over the top. It's a shame I'd rather give a better review, but you can't really call Coco Pancho a dining experience.

We spontaneously went to Coco Pancho. The food was absolutely delicious, the spice mix on the papas fritas is amazing! The cocktails were delicious, the service was friendly, all in all a very nice evening.

So, today is my last visit to Coco Poncho. I've given it 6 chances, but I've failed miserably every time. We've experienced everything there, from a €3 surcharge for ice cubes (no joke) to no debit card payments under €20 (no notice), to really bad cocktails and lukewarm food. We received an immediate, friendly welcome and were able to choose a table. The service was truly top-notch from start to finish. You never felt like you had to order anything, but it also never felt like you were waiting forever for anything. A nice balance. Let's get to the most important thing – the food. And I'll tell you straight away: It was simply really good. No half measures, no lukewarm, standard fare. The taste was of a high standard. I had a main course with meat – well-cooked, nicely seasoned, crispy on the outside, tender on the inside. The side dishes were harmonious, not too much fuss, just what was needed. The portions were also just right. You feel pleasantly full without having to eat yourself into a coma. One small point that did catch my eye – and this isn't meant as a major criticism, more as a suggestion: A selection of homemade lemonades or infused waters would have been the icing on the cake. Especially if you don't want to drink alcohol or are out with family, some creative non-alcoholic alternatives would be great. Of course, there were soft drinks and water, no question. But I would like to see some original creations in that area. The outdoor area could use an upgrade. Some tables were a bit crooked and looked like cheap patio furniture. The prices? Fair. Of course, you pay a bit more for food in a restaurant than at the chip shop next door. But the value for money is good here.

Nettes unkompliziertes Lokal, supernetter Service, Essen bezahlbar und prima (auch wann manchmal die Küche überfordert ist - der allgegenwärtige Personalmangel lässt grüßen). Super: Leckere Cocktails und in der Happy Hour recht günstig und immer gut gemixt - wo gibt’s denn sowas noch 👍

I don't understand some of the very negative reviews; I've been coming here occasionally for dinner with my wife for several years. We (in our early 30s) are always well served, welcomed in a friendly manner and never disappointed with the food. Our recommendation No. 46 on the menu, beef strips with vegetables served in an iron pan with a large side dish. The prices for the dishes are reasonable, cocktails are a bit expensive. Otherwise I can only say that it is a nice atmosphere, if you come into the restaurant when it is 100% busy it is really a bit cramped and loud. The toilets serve their purpose, they aren't the biggest or newest, but you come for food, the sanitary facilities are of secondary importance. We love coming here, the only thing that isn't great here is the parking.

The outdoor area of ​​this restaurant is located directly on a main road. Accordingly, it is loud and uncomfortable. The food was good. The selection of drinks is quite large. The prices are fair. The staff is very friendly and quick. You will be asked whether you still have a wish and whether everything is okay.

We found everything to be very tight, maybe if there were two tables less then it wouldn't be so tight. The toilets are very old. Something urgently needs to be done. The food was ok, not really seasoned authentically and the fajitas only had three small tortillas, the whole thing was a bit lean. It was there within 5 minutes.

Der Service ist nett und aufgeschlossen aber leider nicht geschult…. 30 Minuten Wartezeit auf Nachos bei halb leerem Laden sind schon ein Fauxpas; Meine Spareribs ( 400g ) hatten ein Grillgewicht von knapp der Hälfte. Das passiert wenn günstige Eippen verwendet werden die viel Flüssigkeit verlieren, aber die Zubereitung war vollkommen okay. Anders bei meinem gegenüber!! Das Geflügel hat nach Spiritus gerochen, wahrscheinlich weil die Grillplatte oder die Stäbe vorher eingepinselt wurden, und der die das Koch keine Zeit hat dieses verdampfen zu lassen….. ekelhaft!!!! Unsere Reklamation wurde mit einem „ da sage ich Bescheid“ kommentiert, auf der Rechnung stand der volle Betrag ohne Entschuldigung oder einen Espresso oder sonstwas … Die Qualität der Zutaten sind leider leider billig Ware, 20 Cent mehr und es wäre sicher wesentlich besser!! Von daher wie zum Abschied gesagt GUTE BESSERUNG

I ordered a cheeseburger...it came quickly and easily. The cheeseburger was great and tasted good. Salad and fries, on the other hand, took some getting used to. Fries somewhat idiosyncratic consensus. Salad was great, only the dressing was very modest. Overall, still worth recommending. If the dressing for the salad is a little better, then ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐. I've been going here for years and I'm completely satisfied. I love the place, great service, great Spanish atmosphere and the food is great and it's also a great place for young people. In the summer on the "terrace" you can have a cocktail or two. I can only recommend it!!!

In short, when I wanted to stop by this restaurant alone around 6 p.m. today to have a drink, I was subtly "disgusted", but more on that below. A few words about me: male, 70 years old. I otherwise have oriental features (later I will explain why I mention this description). I travel a lot for work, so I often visit local restaurants or restaurants, alone or with colleagues. I'm also generally cautious and calm. So I entered this restaurant and asked the waitress in a friendly manner, "I would like to have a drink at the counter, is it OK?" The lady, about mid-20s, replied with a smile and a friendly tone, "Sure, please." As I walked towards the counter, there was a lady in her mid-30s (my guess) standing behind the counter. She looked away instead of greeting me. But I took the initiative and greeted her in a friendly manner and then took a seat at the counter in one of the six empty stools. The lady behind the counter started whispering to the waitress, which I didn't hear. The young waitress then came to me and said, "It wouldn't work at the counter, otherwise she would be hindered while serving." She suggested that I sit at a small, high table with a stool instead. But this table is right next to the entrance, a glass door, very uncomfortable in the cold weather. I calmly listened to the lady's explanation and then replied "No, thank you is not necessary." I thanked her again and said goodbye, but heard no answer at all. So that there is no misunderstanding, I enjoy living in Germany, where I studied and worked for many years. But still, it is a fact that every now and then I cannot rule out that I experience exclusion, which is sometimes very subtle, so if it is as blatant as I described above, the feeling that this could also play a role remains emphasized. I'm surprised that there are so many restaurants run by people who unfortunately have neither friendliness nor professionalism, but they still run restaurants

Der erste Eindruck hätte uns eine Warnung sein sollen: die Tische im Aussenbereich waren mit einem Aschenfilm überzogen (Wind und benutzte, für den Außenbereich ungeeignete Aschenbecher). Die lieblose Tischdeko bestand aus einer Vase (altes trübes Wasser), gefüllt mit 2 vertrockneten und frischen Blumen. Das Windlicht bestand aus zerissenem Butterbrotpapier. Eigentlich Zeit zu gehen ... Im Service bedienten zwei junge, aufmerksame und freundliche Menschen. Das Essen: das gebratene Fleisch der Tagesempfehlung war ok. Der Reis ebenso. Das Salatdressing war ungeniessbar und die kleinen Dips gingen ebenso zurück. Die Cocktails: die Auswahl ist auf 8 begrenzt (die reguläre Karte umfasst mindestens 20). Und, das ist wirklich schade, sie sind nicht professionell zubereitet. Was auch immer da drin war...sie schmeckten nicht. Die Toiletten sind in einem unmöglichen Zustand: winzig, schmutzig und mit einer Küchenrolle ausgestattet. Die Spülung muss man mit Stoßgebeten unterstützen und hoffen!! Fazit: die jungen MA im Service sind der einzige Lichtblick. Zwei Sterne insgesamt durch deren Bemühungen!
