Ovest in Berlin

We ate here last week and had a wonderful time. The food was truly delicious, and the service was excellent. We'll definitely be back next time we're in Berlin :)

The pizzas were great and the staff friendly. I'd gladly go back.

Very friendly and attentive staff. The food is traditional and authentic Italian. I highly recommend the pizzas in particular. The Ovest is an absolute classic at KaDeWe; a must-try!

We chose it almost by chance after visiting the KADEWE department store, where there are various types of restaurants on the top floor, including this one, which served very inviting pizzas, so we decided to try it. The pizzas are indeed excellent and made with quality ingredients, and the beers are also excellent. Fast and courteous service, they accept credit card payments.

The spaghetti carbonara was disappointing! The egg was almost raw and tasted like raw egg. The arugula salad came without dressing. All that was served was olive oil, pepper, and salt.

I was a loyal regular for many years – whether at KaDeWe or on Schlüterstrasse. Unfortunately, my last visit was so disappointing that I feel compelled to write this review. We arrived and asked for a table. One table was free, but with a "reserved" sign. Although no one came the entire time, we weren't allowed to sit there. So we sat at one of the high tables a little further away. We waited over ten minutes before anyone came to us – only to be sent away from there too, with the explanation that no food was served at those tables. I pointed out again that the table we had originally requested was still free, but we weren't allowed to sit there either. The manager himself finally asked us to leave – and ultimately, apparently, from the establishment. Whether it was due to my friend's appearance or his sexual orientation, I don't know, but the way we were treated was disrespectful and inappropriate. For a restaurant I've been a regular guest at for at least six years, this is not only disappointing, but absolutely unacceptable. I definitely won't be back.

We tried to get something to eat at this restaurant today, but unfortunately, it was in vain. We had to ask several times that we wanted to order, were given menus, but weren't served. The waiters walked past us several times but didn't respond. Finally, our cutlery was taken from our table. We then got up and left. Other tables were served several times. We weren't even bothered to attend to our needs.

First we sit on a table and ask for menu ourselves. Then after 10 min of waiting we call up waiter and finally order. Waiter refuses and says this table only for drinks. No apologies no nothing… okay we were hungry we sit next table. And wait another 10-20 mins, calling waiters multiple times. Finally someone comes. We try to order, but waiter now says: Ops we closed kitchen… Damn ya. Thanks.

What a waste of time! The owner loves Israel, pampers and cares, and everything there is simply perfect! A must visit!

First impression - over €20 for a mushroom pizza, wow, how expensive. Quality with freshly sliced ham, arugula, buffalo mozzarella, and creamed mushrooms. Top-notch and completely justified.

We have a very delicious meals there , pizza , and pastas. It was good and yummy only the issue is the overpricing of the dishes.

It's one of the best restaurants I've had in a very long time. The food tastes absolutely fantastic. The composition is very good, and the service is also excellent. Five stars for me. I would even give it ten if it were possible. Please note: Fifth floor KaDeWe.

You can save yourself the trouble... no thank you for tips, no smiles, and unfortunately the pizza has almost no flavor. Frozen pizza and Peroni give me more of an Italian feel.

We were spontaneously in Berlin, looking for a pleasant moment with delicious food and excellent wine. Thanks to Joanna, we had a wonderful afternoon/evening at Ovest. Nothing was left to be desired. Absolutely recommended!

We were there with 5 people on a Saturday. Although there weren't many guests there at the time, we had to wait a long time for a waiter. The service was just bad. Despite so many waiters and so few guests, we had to wait forever for the cards and then again for so long to be served. The pizza was super tasty. The spaghetti was good but not enough for the price. We also didn't ask whether the food was good or whether we would like anything else. The young man was openly unhappy with the tip when he paid. It's a shame, I think it could be done much better.

Perfect for a break after shopping: the pizza is wonderfully crispy, the wine is selected and really delicious. The Ovest combines Italian lifestyle with relaxed luxury, in the middle of KaDeWe. And then there was a caramelino on the house. 😊

Disappointing experience – far from luxury Unfortunately, the visit to the “Sechsten” in KaDeWe was a bitter disappointment. The place was completely overcrowded and the music was way too loud, making a relaxed atmosphere impossible. The food was very oily, which not only made it less enjoyable but also led to stomach problems. The service seemed disorganized and disinterested - more like student assistants with no professional catering experience. There was hardly any space between the tables, which added to the already loud noise.

Best Neapolitan pizza in Berlin! Airy dough, original taste like in Naples – simply perfect. Ovest at KaDeWe is a must for pizza lovers!

I really like the Neapolitan pizzas here. They could be a little bigger for the high price. I recommend that you try the buffalina pizza or the one with parma. We like to go to eat pizza here often, but I can tell you that it is very expensive. The pastas have not convinced me very much, they are rather small portions and high prices. I also recommend the starter with burrata and tomato sauce. So far the service has been kind to us :)

We love it here, delicious and fresh Napoita cuisine, a friendly and pleasant atmosphere despite it being in Kadewe. To top it all off, there was a caramelino on the house. Thank you and see you soon.

Perfect pizza like in Napoli – authentic and full of taste! The crispy calamari as a starter was a delight, accompanied by a delicious wine. Particularly cool: The boss himself brought a caramelino on the house every now and then. Great ambience and nice service, absolutely recommended.

Great service especially Fernando stands out. Food is ok Pizza could be crispier and maybe less oil.

The pasta in this restaurant tastes very bad and the price is outrageous, a plate costs 30 euros! It’s really bad and expensive. Don’t come! The 30 euro creamy pasta is not as good as the 30rmb pasta at my university’s western restaurant The school’s 30rmb pasta is creamy and generous, with bacon, onions, and strong black truffle flavor. The moment I found out that this pasta was actually 30 euros, I was really shocked. This pasta is like cream mixed with water😅 Fortunately, after talking to the manager, he said there was no charge for this. But overall, don’t come!

Unfortunately that was nothing! Frozen pizza tastes better. We ordered Pizza Tartufo for €29.50. According to the service, we were supposed to get a Neapolitan pizza (note from me: the Neapolitan pizza has a thin base, an airy, soft and yet crispy edge as well as simple, high-quality ingredients and toppings. We received a pizza with a crust that was unfortunately undercooked and completely chewy-gum-like. The immediate complaint when serving and after clearing away was ironed out. Therefore not recommended!!!

Pizza Magharita 🤌🏻çok güzel. After 2 days in the fridge, the two pieces are still lokum soft❤️🤌🏻 Staff super nice and friendly ❤️I will definitely eat there more often. Neapolitan pizza cost 14.50 so it was worth it as it costs around the corner more expensive...and it doesn't taste the same. Ambiance, well it's just in the department store after which you definitely have to eat cake 🎈so I hope I could help

Dirty tables, limited service, the waitress passed by for 20mns and didnt stop, we had to hail her, 10mns latter i wqs getting a half empty aperol glass, filled with half ice cubes and water, 12 euros... i sent it back and requested it to be done properly. Rip off and bad service.

The Ovest Restaurant in KaDeWe is an absolute insider tip! The Pasta Ovest was incredibly delicious, and the Neapolitan-style pizza completely exceeded my expectations. The service was super friendly and attentive – you just feel comfortable here. The location in KaDeWe makes the whole thing perfect – a great mix of shopping and enjoyment. Absolutely recommended.

Quite expensive for not excellent pizza. Tables also very uncomfortable. You can only enter a certain percentage of tips on the card machine, which I don't think is okay.

Definitely the worst restaurant in this complex. Service slow and unpleasant. The food is terrible, in this department store the customer has to expect a higher price, but definitely the corresponding quality associated with it. We ordered 1 pizza which cost 17€ and was very small, burnt on the edges and overall weird. The second meal-spaghetti was even worse, for €14 I received pasta with canned tomato puree, in which there was also chili, I was not warned about this fact anywhere. I hope that if you find yourself in this department store, you will not make the same mistake and not visit this prissy "restaurant"

I am satisfied with the taste of the food I ordered. However, the waiting time for seating and checkout is too long. The staff are not friendly, perhaps because they are busy.

See friendly service, the chef let my son watch the pizza being made. Pizza excellent and all ingredients fresh. The prices are reasonable. A high chair for our one and a half year old son was available and clean.

During my visit to Berlin I discovered the Ovest in KaDeWe - a real highlight! The pizza was like being on vacation in Italy, and the pasta and salad were delicious too. The aperitif was a perfect choice. Friendly service and authentic Italian food on the 5th floor. Highly Recommended!

La giudico come italiano amante della pizza. E visto che quasi tutti della pizzeria erano italiani capiranno, spero, il punteggio. E italiano era anche il pizzaiolo, per cui può capire questo appunto. I prodotti usati sono buoni, ma forse è l’impasto da migliorare. Una pizza margherita “napoletana” con un cornicione praticamente non alveolato ma compatto è una brutta copia dell’originale. Lo abbiamo fatto presente anche al cameriere (italiano) e ci ha detto che forse l’impasto o la temperatura del forno non erano ottimali. Io credo che sia sempre cosi, e non frutto di una giornata “storta”.

The amount of pasta was 4 spoons. The waiter was super annoyed. It is extremely loud and customers seem stressed. Avoid it. We made the mistake. You don’t have to.

Nice shopping and then some great Italian food. I also love the atmosphere and Ovest is my favorite!

You can argue about al dente, but the rigatoni would have needed a good 90 seconds. And sorry, but just under €19 for a pasta dish is steep even for the location.

Anyone who advertises their pizza offer at one of the most exposed and expensive gourmet places in Berlin should also have enough pizza dough in stock or organize replenishment in good time on one of the busiest days of the year (window day before October 3rd). Unfortunately, the meal was canceled with a waiting time of 1 hour for the dough.

The restaurant has a nice location on the upper floor of the KDW. As far as the rest is concerned, I and my two friends were unfortunately very disappointed. We only got one of the drinks we ordered after asking twice and we didn't receive the food after waiting for three quarters of an hour and asking twice and then left. While we were waiting, several other tables were served and we were stopped several times with "the food will be ready in 10 minutes."

Price/performance was not acceptable for us.

Truly impeccable how horrible the service was. Waited for 40 minutes just for my burrata, didn’t even get to my pasta before I’d had enough & wanted to pay & just leave. While I was waiting for my burrata the waitress realized I didn’t get a break basket & cut the bread in front of me without washing her hands & gave me TWO crumbs of bread. So I payed for a pasta they didn’t even start making & didn’t want to get into it with the waitress because she was snappy.

Do you call yourself a restaurant? Your waiter is simply not capable to be a waiter. We waited 1 hour for 1 pizza and 1 pasta. And to compensate for the long wait, he promised that the drinks will be on tbe house. But of course he charged me full meal plus drinks. I realized afterwards after asking for the receipt (yes, he charged me without giving the receipt), and he said “aaahhhh i forgot, you come again tomorrow yes tomorrow” . Okay. Seriously major dissapointment, I cannot believe I give you my money for this piece of horrible experience.

Wir haben einen sehr schönen Nachmittag hier verbracht. Eigentlich wollten wir einfach nur ein Getränk trinken. Die Getränke wurden mit sehr viel Liebe direkt an der Bar zum zugucken zubereitet. Sowohl der Aperol als auch ein Limoncelli mit Butterfly Pea Tea waren ein echtes Highlight. Da auch keinen Alkohol trinken wollte konzepierte der Barkeeper einen Überraschungsdrink der fabelhaft geschmeckt hat. Zusätzlich haben alle Gäste eine Schüssel Erdnüsse oder anderweitige kleine Snacks erhalten.

Sehr sehr sehr viel Zeit mitbringen.

Durchgeweichte, aber immerhin schmackhafte Pizza, aber: offene Mülleimer direkt neben Lebensmittel, Köche mit Fingerschmuck, ohne saubere Kochuniform und Kochmütze, mit Barth ohne Netz das Personal isst vor den Gäste inkl. Chefin, die Getränke werden in einer Dose (!?) serviert, das Geschirr und die Gläser werden per Hand gewaschen, statt in der vorgeschriebenen und vorhandenen Spülmaschine. Also Hygiene sehr bedenklich und nicht zu empfehlen. KaDeWe nimmt es einfach hin!?

Wir haben sehr lecker gegessen. Die Pizzen waren sehr gut und die Pasta auf den Punkt al Dente. Der Service war sehr Nett und professionell, man hat sich sehr wohl gefühlt. Wir kommen wieder !!!

Considering the restaurant is located in a (upscale) department store, the pizza was really good. Spritz was good too and kinda large. Prices matches quality and size of drink. Service friendly.

It was very busy but they found us a table right away, after much thought we landed on a margarita pizza which was authentic and cooked well and the rigatoni which was also cooked perfectly al dente. It is on 6th floor of KaDeWe so prices were not an issue. Rotwein was italian and 6.5 euros which was fair.

Wir haben ganz spontan im KaDeWe zu Mittag essen wollen und haben nach Trüffelpasta gesucht und sind prompt fündig geworden. Das „Ovest“ in der 5. Etage des KaDeWe bietet Essen ab 12 Uhr an und obwohl wir viel zu früh dran waren, wurde unsere Bestellung bereits früher aufgenommen, sodass wir unsere Pasta auf die Minute um 12 Uhr am Tisch serviert bekommen haben. Was für ein Service. Großes Lob! Zudem möchte ich das großartige und im Restaurant selbst gebackene Brot erwähnen, welches ein absoluter Traum ist. Ich liebe Trüffel und für meinen Geschmack darf gerne noch mehr auf die köstliche Pasta. Außerdem muss der unglaublich freundliche und zuvorkommende Service erwähnt werden. Hier fühlt man sich willkommen. Aufgrund des hervorragenden Essens und des tolles Services zieht es uns immer wieder her, weshalb ich nun auch die Trüffelpizza sehr empfehlen kann.

If you want service with an attitude, this is the place to come. Slow, slow, slow service delivered by people who should never work in a restaurant. Appreciation of clients nonexistent, and drinks & pizzas taking 50 minutes to arrive. I would avoid.

Es war sooooo super, wir hatten den besten Kellner allerzeiten, er heißt Chris und sieht aus wie Captain America. Super lustig, schönes Restaurant mit super Atmosphäre und leckerem Essen. Wir haben Nudeln bestellt, sehr gut. Ich kann nur Gutes berichten! Ich würde empfeheln sich Zeit zu nehmen wenn man dahin geht, aber wir haben es dort auch geschafft, obwohl wir es bisschen eilig hatten und haben eine gute Zeit gehabt. Chris, wenn du das liest, dann weißt du hoffentlich wer wir sind (denk an deinen Onkel) ❤️

Leckere Pasta gibt's hier & perfekte Bedienung, wie überall im KaDeWe!

Während unseres Einkaufs im KaDeWe entschieden wir uns spontan für das italienische Restaurant in der fünften Etage des Einkaufszentrums. Diese Entscheidung bereuten wir keineswegs. Wir bestellten die Tagliolini Freschi Frutti di Mare und die Sedani Ovest als Hauptgerichte. Beide Speisen beeindruckten uns mit ihrem Geschmack und ihrer Qualität. Der Service zeichnete sich durch außergewöhnliche Freundlichkeit und Aufmerksamkeit aus. Einziger Kritikpunkt war die Tatsache, dass wir eine recht lange Wartezeit für die beiden Gerichte in Kauf nehmen mussten. Insgesamt können wir dieses Restaurant dennoch wärmstens empfehlen, vorausgesetzt, man bringt etwas Geduld für die Wartezeit mit.

Nicht zu empfehlen. Erst dauerte es sehr lange bis wir bestellen konnten und dann warteten wir vergebens fast 30 Minuten auf eine Flasche Wasser. Dies trotz zweifacher Erinnerung. Die Tische sind zudem schlecht geputzt, am Nachbartisch wartete eine Dame sehr lange auf Besteck. Wir verließen das Lokal nach der Wartezeit ohne etwas gegessen und getrunken zu haben - vermutlich hatte man das bestellte Essen auch vergessen.

God spisning i KaDeWe. En frokost. Ragu, Margherita og focaccia God mad. Lidt små portioner. Venlig betjening. Drikkevarerne var ikke kolde, men lunkne. Der var skår i porcelænet.

Siamo capitati qui per caso spinti dal desiderio di trovare "i sapori di casa" dopo giorni di pranzi e cene un po' pesanti! Pasta e pizza veramente buoni, personale super gentile e disponibile. Un grazie particolare allo chef che ci ha deliziato con i suoi assagini extra!

Echter Käse trotz veganer Bestellung Für Veganer und Allergiker keine Empfehlung! Als ich auf der Karte gesehen habe, dass das Restaurant vegane Pizza hat, habe ich mich sehr gefreut. Daraufhin bestellte ich eine vegane Pilz Pizza. Beim Essen hatte ich ein komisches Gefühl beim (angenommen veganen) Käse. Ich dachte jedoch es sei einfach ein gutes Ersatzprodukt... Am Ende stellte sich heraus, das ich trotz meiner ausdrücklichen Erwähnungen und kurz danach einer weiteren bestätigenden Erwähnung meiner Begleitperson echten Käse bekommen hatte.

Die Pizza war einfach spitzenklasse. Man schmeckt förmlich die Verbundenheit zur neapolitanischen Heimat. Für KaDeWe Verhältnisse ist der Preis auch durchaus preiswert. Dazu ein sehr aufmerksamer und zuvorkommender Service. Ich werde nicht das letzte Mal hier gewesen sein. Salute!

War super!! Pizza schmeckt super! Die Stühle waren unbequem sonst war alles super

Würde Null Sterne geben!! Eine reine Frechheit... Kellnerin kommt wir bestellen zwei Getränke und zwei Pizzen alles gut soweit nach einer Stunde warten aus tolleranz da viel los war bekommen wir die Rechnung und wurden aufgefordert zu gehen👍 Gehe dort nie wieder hin und würde es auch nicht empfehlen!!!!

Pizza was big enough to share for two and it was delicious. Conveniently in the KaDeWe foodhall, and the lady who served us was attentive and helpful. I realise people didn't like the service when it was busy but that's true everywhere you go. We went at a good time and service was definitely not bad.
