Ovest in Berlin

The food is average and a bit overpriced. Despite it being a large birthday party, we were seated right next to each other – a bit uncomfortable because the group was very loud. With such a large group, they shouldn't have two tables next to each other, but rather separate the area. The music was also very loud, and the service wasn't ideal.

Yesterday I went to another Italian restaurant on Schlüterstrasse and immediately regretted it... I've been coming to Ovest for years and haven't had a single bad experience. Food and service always top! Don't make the same mistake as me and try another Italian restaurant down the street. It's not worth it. Ovest does not disappoint ♥️

The spaghetti with scampi was good but nothing special for the price. The service was abrupt and not friendly. I expected more for the good reviews.

Absolute catastrophe! The starters arrived after 1.5 hours and were mediocre. After another forty minutes the main course, pasta lukewarm and the meat inedible. No wine list, completely overwhelmed service. Conclusion, a restaurant that Charlottenburg doesn't need.

I can only highly recommend this restaurant. It's a little pricey, but worth every penny. The starters were very generous and really tasty. Unfortunately, the Pinsa no longer existed. But what am I saying, what a shame, we then got a risotto with seafood that was simply great. A great evening and great food. The music in the background was unfortunately a bit inappropriate and distracting, but in my experience that happens more often in Italian restaurants.

The food didn't taste good at all, I've heard so much about Ovest, definitely nothing bad, but I wanted to go there myself and eat something delicious. Unfortunately that wasn't the case, even if I cook at home it tastes 3 times better, even though I can't cook, so 1 star from me for the food!

A wonderful evening in a great Italian restaurant This Saturday we were quite late. Nevertheless, we were warmly welcomed and had no restrictions on choosing from the menu. The food was excellent - we had cleverly prepared pasta and a matching rose. The service was great: attentive, friendly and in a good mood. We are in Berlin more often. The Ovest has now become an integral part of our visits and is a real recommendation, especially when you get hungry after going to the theater.

The waiter Giuseppe was simply fantastic! He was extremely friendly, attentive and gave us perfect advice. His recommendations were exactly what we needed and he truly made our visit unforgettable. I will definitely come back and can only warmly recommend the restaurant and the service!

Unfortunately an absolute disappointment! We were there on Valentine's Day and waited an incredible 2 hours for our food. When the food finally came, it was more than disappointing in terms of taste and quality and completely overpriced. The service? Unfriendly and disinterested. More appearance than reality – definitely not recommended!

After the renovation of the restaurant, at first glance the restaurant looks very nice, but unfortunately the food is simply subpar and the prices are extremely exorbitant. Truffle pasta (if you could even call it more like overcooked parmesan pasta) was lukewarm and mushy like glue. My husband had the daily special of 2 scampi with spagetti aglio e olio for an incredible €70. The spaghetti was cold and the 2 scampi were just fried to death. Everything was charged very harshly even though I had left my pasta. My husband ate the cold noodles because he was just hungry. Unfortunately, I left the store hungry. The one good thing was the cellar, very nice.

It's a lovely atmosphere and the Mediterranean food is at a very high level.

I was there recently and I have to say the food was okay, but given the price range you would expect a little more. Unfortunately, the restaurant cannot keep up with Kadewe. In addition, no attention from the house as a small starter or at least an espresso afterward. Rude service from the start for no reason, especially at these prices. In my opinion, tipping was too much, but if the waiter is standing right in front of the bill and waiting, then you might feel a bit pressured. So sorry, but really a shot in the oven.

One of my favorite Italian restaurants in Charlottenburg. And my go-to dish is always the arrabiata because it is simply very well made.

Wir besuchten das Restaurant, um den Geburtstag meines Mannes zu feiern. Leider war das Essen nicht so wie gewünscht. Aber nach der Reklamation wurde die Pasta sofort storniert. Fazit: Wir nehmen an, dass es nie so war, weil das Restaurant an dem Abend sehr gut besucht war. Und werden ihnen daher bestimmt bald wieder eine Chance geben.

I was very excited to try Ovest as I had passed it a few times walking by. Unfortunately, I was disappointed. The margarita pizza (18eur) was terrible and absolutely not worth this price. The Ovest pasta was average and there was way too much sauce. I was fooled by pictures from other reviewers but what we got served looked nothing like that. The margarita dough looked like it had been defrosted and was smaller than other pictures and rectangular. This was a flag. Nothing seemed very fresh and we felt deceived in terms of food quality. The service was fine but kept talking to us in German when they knew we don’t speak and we had previously spoken in English. This isn’t a terrible thing but a detail. The music was very loud as well but I understand it was a Saturday and a need to create more atmosphere. On the plus side, the area where Ovest is placed is lovely and the restaurant is well decorated. There are way, way better Italian places in Berlin and we won’t go back.

The Ovest on Schlüterstrasse is definitely one of the best Italian restaurants I have ever been to. It was not without reason that this was the regular place for e.g. Shindy or Bushido. Had the best bruschetta of my life and the vibe and atmosphere here is 100 percent right. Only love for the Ovest

Wir mussten trotz Reservierung und vorheriger Benachrichtigung 15 Minuten warten, bis wir sitzen konnten. Für uns wurde ein extra Tisch ohne Tischdecke auf den Bürgersteig gestellt. Komischerweise hatten alle anderen Tische eine Tischdecke und die Gäste saßen entspannter. Als wir unsere Getränke, eine Cola Zero und ein großes stilles Wasser, bestellten und 20 Minuten später weder die Cola noch das Wasser bekommen hatten, fragten wir nach. Dann wurde erneut nach unserer Bestellung gefragt: eine Cola Zero und ein stilles Wasser. Daraufhin kam die Mitarbeiterin mit einer Flasche Sprudelwasser und schenkte selbstverständlich ein. Nach einem Hinweis bekamen wir jedoch ein stilles Wasser. Wir haben alle eine Pinsa gegessen. Da ich die Pizza aus der anderen Filiale schon oft gegessen habe, bin ich von einem Geschmackserlebnis ausgegangen. Jedoch war der Käse nur halb geschmolzen und der Rand war nicht richtig knusprig. Es ist schade, so ein Erlebnis in diesem Laden gemacht zu haben. Für einen ersten Besuch wurde leider kein guter Eindruck hinterlassen, außer im Portemonnaie.

We sat in the front area; it was being remodeled and we hadn't been there for some time. It's cozy, a bit small and cramped, but that's the case in many, even good, restaurants. The service, even with children and dogs, is super friendly and open. The food is super delicious and our every wish was fulfilled. Totally great. We'd love to come back.

Incredibly poor quality for a “luxury shed”. The food was worse than in a canteen. Service was terrible and we waited about 90 minutes for noodles that cook for 10 minutes. I would never recommend it in my life.

I had been there before this restaurant was renovated (before 2013/14). I remembered the food being tastier than this time. The starter, calaaari with ruccola salad, was very tasty, the pasta with beef fillet tips was mediocre, the Kaiserschmarrn was awesome!!!!!! The atmosphere was very loud because the audience drinks a lot and gets excited by the loud music, which in turn is very disruptive to conversations among themselves. Nevertheless, it is very amusing to watch the guests. The drink vodka caramel sour is highly recommended! The prices are overpriced.

we love the Ovest! Loading a scene for decades. The owner is super nice. The rest of the staff as well. The delicious caramel shots are always a highlight. In the evenings there is always music and a good atmosphere. I can recommend it to everyone. Unfortunately it is not open at lunchtime. That would of course be even better.

On evenings when the host Mauricio is on site it is a very special place. He then conjures up dishes on the table that are not otherwise on the menu. Without him, an impeccable Italian near the Ku’damm.

Einsame Spitze dieser Laden! Das Essen ist super lecker, das Personal extrem freundlich und gut drauf und der Chef gibt irgendwie immer einen aus. Man fühlt sich dort sehr familiär. Das Rote Beete Carpaccio muss gegessen werden! Die Pasta Ovest ist mega lecker und die Pinsa mit Mortadella perfekt!

Top Atmosphäre und richtig gutes authentisches Essen. Die Ovest Nudeln sind legendär und waren vorzüglich. Die Mitarbeiter sind durch die Bank echte Originale. Wir hatten mehrere Vorspeisen Teller und ein paar Aperol. Gerade das Rote Beete Carpaccio war sehr geil. Der Laden ist recht angesagt. Insofern ist das Publikum kunterbunt. Preislich natürlich etwas gehoben, aber keineswegs überzogen. Lohnt sich.

Super Essen, mal ein richtiges, italienisches Feinschmeckerrestaurant

Erg opdringerige ober, maakt veel grapjes, zette muziek steeds hard, liet zich niet corrigeren door zijn collega's. Personeel flirt met vrouwelijke klanten. In Italië vast normaal, ik vond het wat amateuristisch. Eten was oké, maar zou het niet aanraden.

Service@itsbest! Einfach nur Mega Location. Die Speisen nur oberirdisch, der erlebte Service vom Restaurant Chef Mauricio, Barkeeper Antonio, dem Küchenchef bis hin zur persönlichen Servicekraft Antonia exzellent. Selten so einen persönlichen Service erlebt. Top. Nachdem ich am Anfang ein wenig warten musste, wurde mir gleich ein besserer Platz angeboten. Der gebratene Oktopus war als Vorspeise bereits sättigend. Der rosa gebratene Thunfisch war auf den Punkt zubereitet. Die Portion Pimentos so groß, dass der Küchenchef persönlich nachfragte, warum ich den Rest zurückgehen ließ. Am tollen Geschmack hat es nicht gelegen! Der begleitende Lugana und der aufmerksame Service rundeten zusammen mit dem Degistif auf Kosten des Hauses einen schönen Abend ab.

Das Essen ist frisch, authentisch italienisch und einfach immer großartig. Der Service weiß, wovon er spricht und gibt einem das Gefühl willkommen zu sein. Eine feste Größe im "alten Westen".
