The best GREEK RESTAURANT in Leipzig! As a Greek, I find the food absolutely AUTHENTIC, the staff very friendly and welcoming - like in Greece - and also very well organized. You can tell that amateurs are at work. We had reserved for 7:30 p.m. and stood in front of the entrance for 15 minutes until we left. People were already queuing up and had all made reservations. When we asked, they said, "Yes, we know, but the tables are still occupied." Then why do you offer the option to reserve a table? The ambience is certainly nice on the water, but it doesn't make up for the poor service.

Man merkt das Amateure am Werk sind. Wir hatten für 19:30 reserviert und standen 15min vor dem Eingang bis wir gegangen sind. Die Menschen stauten sich bereits und hatten auch alle reserviert. Auf unsere Anfrage sagte man, „Ja wir wissen, aber die Tische sind noch belegt“. Warum bietet man dann die Möglichkeit an einen Tisch zu reservieren?

We had a very nice evening. The food and service were excellent, and the view of the White Elster was great 👍🏻 Many thanks also to the service employee, who not only served us excellently, but also helped us find a parking space.

We stopped here by chance while taking a walk. The ambience is amazing. Located directly on the canal. Beautiful. The service was very courteous and friendly. The food is good, but very expensive. There are small bowls with various treats. The menu is small and clear.

Food ok. Fried potatoes frozen goods, not fresh homemade potatoes. Service good to very good. Meat and decoration great. Recommended.

Food was okay and price/performance is okay, despite sometimes being too cold or boiling hot. It can always happen. There are no parking spaces in the area, but there are even more spiders outside. Later there was live music (about 10 minutes) where one of the musicians went from table to table and asked for a tip with his hand outstretched. A no go for me. Since the food wasn't anything special, I won't come back because of the last two points. The staff was always friendly.

Nice service! The atmosphere outside right on the canal is really nice! The food tasted excellent. The portions are smaller, you have to adjust to this concept and get involved with it. Prices are reasonable and OK. The service was a bit leisurely. It all took a little longer - but we'll be happy to come back!

We have never eaten something so delicious at a Greek restaurant. Lots of small delicacies instead of big, full plates. We ate with 4 people, everyone was able to try each other. Everything was delicious without exception. My favorites were the grilled liver with crispy onions and garlic bread. We sat outside, right by the river, with a wonderful view.

Mini portions, which are very expensive. If you're really hungry, you'll come out of the restaurant hungry with 2 starters and 2 main courses. A stark contrast to the “Greek” as we know it here. More of a type of tapas with a Greek flair. But it tasted very good. However, far too little for the price. In total we paid well over 95 euros (2 people) and left hungry. The souvlaki were reduced to the size of fish fingers (10 euros). The starter consisted of 4 small mushroom heads for just under 9 euros. 6 breaded prawns without anything for just under 13 euros. A handful of fried potatoes and 2 small squid arms for 15 euros. Pita the size of a measly piece of toast cost just under 5 euros. A portion of rice for just over 10 euros. Cheese plate also 8 to 9 euros. House wine cost 10 euros for a 500 ml carafe. We really had to keep ordering again because nothing was filling. We felt very rushed. There was hardly any opportunity for the beautiful ambience. Afterwards we could have easily eaten a pizza somewhere else. The store is recommended for people who have a lot of money and are a little less hungry.

Food was very good and as close as it could get to real greek taste. The way oregano was used on the top of grilled meat to add flavour is similar to traditional taverns in Greece. Portions are the size of "meze", similar to "tapas" therefore multiple plate options should be chosen and shared among people in order to get the original experience of an "ouzeri". There are various Ouzo and Wine options to choose from as well.

Super delicious food, we'll definitely come back

After the change of ownership, we dared again and were not disappointed. The ambience was almost unbeatable, our culinary delights were certainly not representative as we only enjoyed the souvlaki and a cheese platter including house wine, but we will definitely keep trying. In any case, we liked the beginning. The concept of mezze (TAPAS) is very close to our eating habits. Price-performance ratio seems reasonable, even if there will be complainers in this regard. Free was yesterday. Dear boss, please advise your employees not to leave the terrace or guest room without items (i.e. empty glasses, dishes, etc.). We will be back !

It's particularly great to sit down by the canal. The dishes are also very tasty. Service can be a bit spotty at times, but nothing bad. All in all great!

My wife and I just had dinner with you. We had liver with baked potatoes and chicken in white wine sauce and fried potatoes. Unfortunately I can't agree with the numerous good reviews here. In my opinion, the food was very lightly seasoned, the fries for example not at all. Portions are also very small, but quite expensive. The plus point is of course sitting by the river, but the interior is also very “modern” and rather uncomfortable and darkly decorated.

Even after another visit it is confirmed: the food at Was Kost Das is simply incredibly delicious! Here you can enjoy delicious food and a lovely evening as a couple or in a small group - whether inside or outside by the water. Live music was also played later. The service is friendly and quick too. Contrary to my expectations (ordered a lot, busy) we didn't have to wait long at all. I couldn't get enough of the food myself, but after two more orders I was simply too full for more.

We were there on Whit Monday 2024 and it was just wonderful. This restaurant has a concept that is described in the menu, you should be aware of that and then you will understand the menu and what it is about. I love the concept of ordering lots of smaller dishes and everyone taking something from each other's plates. If you want a typical German dish, your own main course à la gyros, fries and Metaxa sauce, you should go to another Greek restaurant. The service was very nice and accommodating. I ordered a drink that wasn't on the menu, but that wasn't a problem for the staff. I got my drink without any problems. The food was delicious and especially the orange cake for dessert was heavenly. The prices are totally okay. Good ingredients have their price. We would like to come again.

Du kommst als Fremder und gehst als Freund. Wunderbare Location für eine Feier, zum Ausklang des Tages oder einfach mal so. Selbst unsere Vegetarier kamen hier voll auf ihre Kosten. Und wenn ihr Glück habt, dann begrüßt euch Hugo der hübsche Hauskater.

Very nice location, right on the water. Terrace over the river. Eating as a kit principle.... Put together meat, fish and side dishes as desired. Service was available at any time. Very nice everything...

The atmosphere in the restaurant was very nice. We were a bit overwhelmed by the very small menu and so we all took the same thing. The food was good, but really very, very little... Strange concept and not really recommended given the steep price.

The food was super delicious. Everyone in the family found something to their liking, even the children and me as a vegetarian. The service was very friendly and we sat comfortably outside in the shade. I can only recommend.

Maybe I didn't understand something, but it's really a joke about the portions. A bratwurst in a bun makes you happier. They should call it EXPENSIVE Greek Tappas. You won't find Giros here, there are no fries, and the prices here are considered cheap. At least we laughed and felt hungry for the first time after eating. However, there were guests sitting behind us who think this shop is one of the best and who wanted to force this opinion on you. PHOTOS to follow. If you're hungry, you should plan on spending 70 euros per person to leave feeling reasonably full. The four of us spent 120 euros and then went out to eat so as not to ruin the evening. It looks so inviting but is like a surprise egg. At least you have chocolate next to the junk. If you have already suffered damage from today's time, then you will certainly meet like-minded people among the regular guests

Nice ambience, nice staff, good food. Portions are small, but they only cost half as much 👍😃, that's because of the concept, mezze are small portions. My octopus was a bit cold, but overall the food was very tasty

We were a bit unlucky: despite calling ahead, we only got an improvised spot. The food was nevertheless super tasty and makes it easy to forget the slightly higher price.

Absolute recommendation! Not the run-of-the-mill Greek, but here you get top quality Greek tapas. Perfect for sharing. Plus good service! Nice owner. They are also at Lieferando, so you can enjoy the tapas from home. Also a top spot right on the canal in summer.

This is definitely the best Greek in Leipzig. Maybe not if you want a classic gyros mountain of meat, but you want to enjoy very good, diverse Greek cuisine. Absolute recommendation and we are definitely regular customers!

Been here for the 3rd time and loved it for the 3rd time. The food came reasonably quickly (considering it was busy), the service was friendly and quick. As always, the food was great! Hot, tasty and typically prepared. I can only recommend Ouzeria - Was.kost.das to everyone. The location at the Könneritz Bridge is beautiful. And the outdoor seating area is also very inviting. But the rooms also appear warm, cozy but also stylish. Until next time 🇬🇷

We were here for the first time last night and definitely not the last time. :) And enjoyed not ordering a "typical" dish, like in other Greek restaurants, but small portions -meze-. A little bit of Greece in Leipzig. Class🫶

Greek exactly to my taste, no ouzo or additional salad but just what you ordered.

Hallo, ich habe über Lieferando bestellt und bin einfach nur entsetzt. Statt Hühnchen, habe ich Schweinefleisch bekommen, obwohl das Gericht ausschließlich als Huhn angeboten wird. Der Tzatziki schmeckte nach garnichts und der Feta aus dem Ofen, war weder Feta noch Schafskäse.. Schlimmer geht echt nicht und, wenn ich könnte, würde ich sogar am liebsten 0 Sterne geben. Die Bilder sehen alle toll aus, auf eurer Seite aber was man stattdessen bekommt, sollte verboten werden .. Noch dazu habe ich fast 40€ bezahlt, für so einen Fraß.. Absoluter Reinfall! Ich habe Ihre Antwort leider nicht verstanden, können Sie mich kontaktieren?

Vielen Dank für den schönen Abend. Die kleinen verschiedenen Speisen und die Auswahl ist klasse und hebt sich deutlich von anderen griechischen Restaurants ab. Der Service ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Wir haben einen Regenschauer abbekommen und mussten dadurch nach drin wechseln. Uns wurde gleich geholfen und ohne große Umstände drinnen ein Tisch gedeckt. Das Essen hat eine top Qualität und insbesondere draußen am Kanal sitzt man sensationell. Den Punkt Abzug gibt es lediglich für das Ambiente innen, was leider mit dem außen nicht mithalten kann. Aber auch das kann man bei dem guten Preis-Leistungsniveau absolut verschmerzen.

Ein sehr interessantes Lokal mit einer etwas anderen Speisekarte als man sie bei einem griechischen Restaurant gewohnt ist. Aber sehr sehr lecker. Das Essen war heiss, gut abgeschmeckt und kam schnell an den Tisch. Die Bedienung war zuvorkommende und sehr freundlich. Ich kann dieses Restaurant nur empfehlen.

Ambiente ist schön. Service gut. Das Essen geschmacklich ok, qualitativ ok, leider nichts besonderes und zum Teil nur lauwarm. Fazit: schade. Da waren die Vorstellungen schöner als die Realität.

Durch Zufall sind wir an einem Freitag Abend in diesem Restaurant gelandet und haben, auch ohne Reservierung, einen schönen Platz für drei Personen bekommen. Wer Griechenland wirklich kennt, wird dieses Restaurant lieben! Es gibt nicht die sonst üblichen "Fleischberge", sondern viele kleine, sehr authentisch griechische Gerichte, die wie im Urlaub schmecken. Wo sonst gibt es z.B. ein richtig gutes Stifado oder Fassolakia? Am besten bestellt man eine größere Anzahl Speisen und teilt sie dann miteinander. Ein großes Dankeschön auch an Lefteris, der uns den Abend aufmerksam bedient hat und uns zum Abschluss mit einem unglaublich leckeren Portokalopita (Orangenkuchen) erfreut hat. Wenn wir wieder in Leipzig sind, kommen wir bestimmt wieder!

Die Sterne gibt es lediglich für das Ambiente, essen war ok, jedoch nichts besonderes und für den Preis wirklich zu wenig. Service naja es schien so, als wären wir unsichtbar. Ohne Aufforderung das wir gern essen bestellen möchten, hätten wir sicher noch Stunden gewartet. Schade wir kommen leider nicht wieder.

Frisches Essen: auf keinen. Fall. 5 Gerichte nach 10 Minuten auf dem Tisch, das kann (leider) nicht frisch sein. Geschmacklich zwar ganz Ok, aber Oktopus vom Grill trifft zwar zu, aber nicht nach der Bestellung, eher am Tag davor.

Se siete a Lipsia è impossibile non passare da loro. Personale,cibo,location più di 5 stelle, ve lo consigliamo veramente,dopo la prima volta vi viene voglia di andarci a mangiare ogni giorno. Poi oltre al cibo sono persone meravigliose,ti fanno sentire in famiglia, tra l’altro il cibo arriva molto velocemente,neanche il tempo di ordinarlo che già è pronto! Location fantastica ti sembra di stare su una scena di un film, vista spettacolare. Che dire tutto fantastico!!

Ein Lifestyle Grieche. Geschmacklich weit entfernt von echtem griechischen Essen. Nach der Bestellung war das komplette Essen innerhalb von 3 Minuten auf dem Tisch. Da werde ich skeptisch, gutes Essen braucht Zeit. Auf Getränke dagegen mussten wir 10 Minuten warten. Die Location passt nicht zu einem griechischen Restaurant, Lifestyle eben für Leute die es nicht besser kennen.

Das Essen ist sehr lecker. das Restaurant an sich ist sehr schön und ein tolles Ambiente. Aber der Service ist leider absolut schlecht. Sehr unorgansiert ,ohne Überblick ,nimmt Bestellungen falsch auf ,und selbst auf die Rechnung haben wir trotz mehrfachen aufmerksam machen erst nach 40 Minuten bekommen , trotz relativ leerem Restaurant.... das einzig gut was man über den Service sagen kann , nach meiner Erfahrung ist das sie freundlich sind aber leider war es das auch wieder ... Ich kann es wirklich nur um des essen Willens weiter empfehlen aber wer Wert auf guten Service legt , geht wo anders essen !

Wir hatten extra auf der schönen Terrasse am Wasser reserviert, durften dort aber wegen des Wetters (es war bewölkt) nicht Platz nehmen. Wir bekamen als Alternative einen Tisch innen am Fenster und wurden dort zügig bedient. Das Essen war super. Da wir allerdings feststellen mussten, dass andere Menschen sehr wohl auf der Terrasse Platz nehmen durften, werden wir hier nicht mehr hin gehen. Schade!

Uns hat es heute Abend hier richtig gut gefallen! Leckere "Kleinigkeiten", guter Wein und eine nette Bedienung! Das Konzept mit kleinen Speisen zum gemeinsamen Probieren und Teilen ist in einer Runde mit Freunden hervorragend! Auch der typische Ouzo ist von besserer Qualität als sonst beim "Griechen" 😁

Man sitzt herrlich gemütlich am Wasser, der Service ist sehr freundlich und die vielen verschiedenen griechischen Tapas sind köstlich. Absolute Empfehlung!

Würde dafür nochmal nach Leipzig fahren.

Das Essen - all die leckeren Mezze, wirklich lecker! Toller Service, trotz vollem Haus immer aufmerksam. Sehr zu empfehlen!!

Wir sind zu zweit gewesen, haben einiges bestellt 😅 siehe Fotos. Der Preis ist etwas hoch aber es ist sehr lecker gewesen, am besten fand ich rechts oben, neben dem Brotkorb das panierte Stück Schafskäse mit einer Honig Soße 🤤 ich hab leider keinen Namen mehr im Kopf aber ohja, das ist gut gewesen 😋 in Kombination mit dem anderen echt toll 😃 Man kann auch direkt am Kanal sitzen aber da ist bei uns leider schon alles voll gewesen 😕 aber egal, hatten unseren Spaß und sind satt gewesen, die Kellner / der Kellner ist etwas verpeilt gewesen 😅 aber hat am Ende alles geklappt 😄👍 Lohnt sich 😊
