Osteria Il Gambero in München

We searched for a good Italian restaurant for ages and were more than satisfied here – a real hidden gem! Everything was perfect – the tasteful decor, the ambiance, the very friendly service, and above all, the food was outstanding. Excellent value for money! When we're back in Munich, we'll definitely be back!

A very inviting and elegant restaurant. Upon entering, I was greeted by a very friendly and pleasant lady. The server was also very cordial and professional. I felt at home. It was also very close to my hotel, as I had run the Munich Marathon. Exceptional.

This is the best Italian restaurant in the area. The host family is super friendly, always up for a joke, and the food is simply fantastic. The pizzas are great, and you can pick them up quickly and easily if you don't feel like eating out.

Small and family-run, with upscale Italian cuisine. There aren't any good restaurants in the area, so it's simply fortunate that Il Gambero has been there for so long. We go there very often; good spritz, great food, and friendly customers. Highly recommended!

Unfortunately, the service was very unfriendly. Since the restaurant advertises "traditional Italian cuisine," I tried to order a pizza marinara via delivery service. When I called back, I was told it would be €4 more expensive, which was strange to me, but okay, it's just not on the menu. What was delivered was a pizza frutti di mare with seafood. When I tried to clear up the misunderstanding on the phone, I was laughed at and they tried to explain to me that marinara and mare were the same thing. When I asked what you get in Italy when you order a pizza marinara, the only remaining argument was "we're not in Italy." So much for traditional cuisine. The correct pizza was then delivered to me. Due to the reaction to the misunderstanding, I'm only giving it 2 stars, as Google's rating logic says "not so good." I'll be ordering somewhere else soon.

We arrived without a reservation, and although the restaurant was fully booked, they kindly offered us a table for up to an hour, which we appreciated. The service was friendly and attentive, and the food arrived promptly. The carbonara pasta was quite good for Munich. The pizza, while enjoyable, wasn't particularly memorable. I believe it's worth a return visit, as the pasta was exceptionally rich.

I am a big fan! We live nearby and I have been ordering delivery since covid times. The food is super good, as good as in Italy. Even sea fish - which is not to be taken for granted in Munich. Portion sizes are very decent. The gentleman who delivers is always fast and polite. Highly recommended! Grazie!

We were here for the first time today to celebrate our anniversary. We received a very friendly welcome. The staff was very friendly and attentive across the board. The food was super tasty. We had a starter, pasta and dessert and everything was beyond delicious. Very good quality and prepared with love. The prices are more than okay! It also seemed like there were a lot of regular customers here, which also speaks highly of this restaurant. We are from the countryside and didn't expect such a family atmosphere in Munich. We really liked that! We took a business card with us so that we can and will come back when we are in Munich again. That's exactly how gastronomy works. All thumbs up! In the evening you should definitely make a reservation! Everything from wonderfully simple to sophisticated Italian cuisine is offered. There is something for every taste and every budget. I can only recommend it.

Very nice restaurant, good service, good food, just great

Out of 3 times there, two visits were great and one was a flop. The food is authentic but the service was really unfriendly once and the food took a long time. You don't have to travel to Moosach specifically for this. Very unfortunate.

I often order from Lieferando and if it's Italian cuisine then only Osteria il Gambero!! The best pizza in town and just around the corner!!! Really big compliments to the chef and the nice staff 🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼

Very tasty starters and good pizzas. There is also something for everyone when it comes to desserts. Good service and friendly owner. Unfortunately it's difficult to find a parking space nearby.

Ambiance can be described as very upscale. You will be warmly welcomed and the price-performance ratio is great! Unfortunately, after the dishes were served, we were completely ignored. This meant that neither the cheese plate (which I had my eye on) nor any other drinks could be ordered.

We have been enjoying the excellent food and perfect service at Osteria il Gambero for years. What do we like best? If possible, every wish will be fulfilled, even if the dish is not currently on the menu. A week without a visit to Gambero is a bad week...and after another 2 years we are still thrilled 🤩

My husband and I went to the restaurant for lunch on a Sunday. We ate pizza and pasta. The food was very good and the service was also friendly. What made me very happy was that I got my favorite pasta dish even though it wasn't on the menu.

A taste experience every time, whether in the restaurant or for delivery

unfortunately the pizza did not meet our expectations; the tomato sauce was more than salty. Plus €17 for a pizza is simply too expensive! We cannot rate the service and ambience due to pickup.

We had dinner here in December. The restaurant was beautifully decorated for Christmas. The hosts were very friendly. Special plus: also very child-friendly! The pizzas were super tasty. You felt like you were in Italy.

Nice service. It's just a shame that there is only water from Italy, an absolute no-go in times of energy crisis and climate change, especially since it doesn't taste any different than German water!

I would put this restaurant in my list of romantic restaurants with a cozy ambience. Recommended is good with gambas , overall a good experience.

Essen ist sehr lecker.😋 Das Personal (Service) ist flink, merkt sich sogar Bestellungen ohne diese sich aufzuschreiben. Essen ist frisch zubereitet. Der Lillet Wildberry ist sehr gut. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder.

Wirklich nett eingerichtetes Lokal. Bestellzeit meiner Lasagne lag bei 10min aber in Realität 30min. Kein Problem war Freitag Abend. Allerdings hab ich die schlechteste Lasagne aller Zeiten bekommen komplett ohne Geschmack. Pizza die ich beim abholen auf dem Tisch sehen konnte, sah allerdings gut aus!

Sehr schönes italienisches Lokal. Wir waren schon ein paarmal dort. Die Qualität der Speisen war bislang immer hervorragend und die Auswahl an guten Weinen ist sehr groß. Das Personal ist immer sehr freundlich und gut gelaunt. Wir kommen gerne wieder!

Neu in der Nachbarschaft haben wir dieses Restaurant ausprobiert, geschmackvoll eingerichtet, schöne Hintergrundmusik, gute Qualität der Speisen, allzu gastfreundliche Kellner, etwas überdurchschnittliche Preise. Sehr negativ anzumerken sind die Preise der Getränke, egal ob es sich um Weine oder sonstiges handelt. 5 € für ein 2 cl. "Lemoncello" zu bezahlen ist wirklich zu viel (250 € pro Liter??), vor allem nachdem wir bereits (zu zweit) für ca. 75 Euro konsumiert haben und andere Gäste es am Ende des Abendessens vom Haus geschenkt bekommen haben, wie andere Italiener es oft mit neuen Gästen wie uns tun. Ich verstehe, dass wir keine Stammgäste sind, aber wir werden es auch nicht werden.

Wir waren jetzt einige Mal in der Osteria und es hat jedes Mal sehr gut geschmeckt. Heute gab es als Vorspeise Vitello Tonnato, wir hatten eine Pinsa mit Pistazien, Burrata und Mortadella sowie eine Pizza. Die Pinsa war unglaublich lecker, mit wirklich vielen Pistazien- aber durchweg war alles wirklich sehr lecker und frisch. Wochentags gibt es ein günstiges Mittagsmenü mit Salat/Suppe und Hauptgang. Im Sommer kann man auf der großen Terrasse auch schön draussen sitzen. Ich denke, dass es besser ist, zu reservieren, weil die Osteria immer gut besucht ist. Danke für den netten Service- wir kommen gerne wieder 😊

Ausgezeichnete Küche und hervorragender Service

Top Italiener! Diese Osteria kann ich uneingeschränkt empfehlen. Der Service war sehr gut und das Essen richtig lecker. Egal ob Salat, Pasta oder Pizza - jeder war rundum zufrieden. Dazu gab es einen empfohlenen italienischen Rotwein - dieser hat perfekt zu den Gerichten gepasst. Abgerundet wurde der Abend mit einem schönen Ambiente und angenehmer Hintergrundmusik. Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis übrigens sehr gut! Macht weiter so!

Wir waren dort vor kurzem "vor Ort " essen. Vorher haben wir dort immer nur bestellt und liefern lassen. Ich war wirklich begeistert vom Ambiente. Sehr gemütlich und elegant. Der Service war sehr aufmerksam. Der Gruß aus der Küche war leider nicht mein Geschmack...da wurde prompt eine Alternative gefunden und serviert. Wirklich klasse!!! Das Essen - hausgemachte Tagliatelle - waren spitze. Super lecker und ich war wirklich satt. Ich komme gerne wieder. Reservierung ist von Vorteil.

Sehr gutes Essen guter Service gerne wieder.

Wir haben ohne Reservierung kurz vor Weihnachten gerade noch den letzten Tisch ergattert mit befristeten Zeitfenster. Die Einrichtung finde ich sehr edel. Die Karte ist gut zusammengestellt, nicht die typische italienische Pizza/Pasta Gerichte sondern auch gute Fleischgerichte. Genau so eines habe ich mir bestellt und wurde nicht enttäuscht. Die Portionsgröße lässt noch eine Nachspeise zu. Personal sehr aufmerksam. Der Salat meiner Freundin hätte allerdings mehr Dressing vertragen, das war ein bisschen zu langweilig. Die Garnelen aber sehr gut gebraten.
