Osteria Caruso in Berlin

It doesn't get more authentic than this. When you sit down, you're in Italy. The same goes for the food. From lasagna to pizza to pasta with truffles from the Parmesan cheese, prepared right in front of you, everything is delicious and transports you to Italy. The friendly service creates a family atmosphere, like a small, cozy restaurant in Venice. All I can say is... Go there and unwind!

Very friendly and service-oriented staff. The pesto pasta was almost tasteless. You have to get it right first. Probably ideal for a daycare center. In any case, it was absolutely not good for the osteria's good reputation. The pizza, like in the other branches, was good as usual.

After 20 minutes, we weren't even asked what we wanted to drink, so we got up and left. The service didn't deserve a single star. Thanks for nothing.

During my stay in Berlin a few days ago it was one of the daily stops excellent first courses that my teenage son also liked, the pizza was also excellent Near my hotel a few minutes from Postdamer Platz

We waited 1 hour for 2 pizzas and many of the guests who came after us had their food much earlier (sometimes within about 10 minutes).

Nice restaurant, value for money is right. Ambience is also nice and partly designed with nice details. The staff was also very nice and attentive. The food also came very quickly and was delicious. It is now also pointed out that there are sometimes internet problems and it may therefore happen that payment by card does not work. I just mentioned this because a lot of people have complained about it in their reviews.

I was there for lunch and would not recommend the restaurant to anyone. The tables are already so dirty that everything that is on them sticks to them. The menu has probably seen better days, the selection of dishes is boring. We had to wait about 40 minutes for the soup and mozzarella caprese we ordered. However, the quality of the food was just bad.

Went there after a concert ,was the greatest way to end the evenning ,the food was good ,the servers are nice ,the price was really affordable and the quality was there . Recommend 1000%

Great authentic Italian food. Service a bit chaotic, but good.

The Italian cuisine here is of the highest quality – the pizza is perfectly baked, the dough is crispy and the ingredients are fresh. But the pasta was also a dream – perfectly al dente. The atmosphere is modern and inviting. The staff is professional and warm. An all-round successful experience that I can recommend to everyone!

The restaurant seems small and inconspicuous. But please enter the restaurant, it is a very nice restaurant, which has various small "corners" that are attractively decorated. I particularly liked the little “room” on the way to the toilets. The food was good, the service was very friendly. Because it got very crowded in the evening (so make sure you make a reservation), we had to wait a long time for payment.

We ate here today without a reservation after a visit to the Blue Man Group. We got a table right away, even though it was quite busy. The service was very friendly and the food was superb, especially at a really fair price. We definitely recommend it.

As italian I can say it's a great pizza. Very fresh and good ingredients, excellent service and nice atmosphere. We went on a Thursday night without reservationsm and they managed to give us a table last minute although the place was full. I can only recommend it

We went there a busy evening, with 3 children, with out a reservation, and they helped us to a table within minutes. Fast service and we didn’t have to wait for long before the food arrived. The food was what you could expect. Nothing extraordinary, but good food for a good price. The Gnocchi was really good!

Authentic. I’m visiting from Catania. Great flavours, atmosphere and service. Italian, German and English spoken. It seems popular among locals, with maybe 25% international visitors. Chic and classic at the same time. Hope to return 🙏🏼

You come here because it is close to Potsdamer Platz and convenient for a quick work lunch. The food is average, and the restaurant could do with a little touches here and there. I had a side salad which was not great, ready dressing and bland veg and leaves. The arrabiata has nothing to do with an arrabiata but it will keep you going for the rest of the day. The service is ok, although you do have to sometimes make an effort to get the attention for more drinks or get the bill etc. It's reasonably priced, and the portions are huge Would not go here if I wouldn't be restricted to being in that area and having litte time

We wanted to try an Italian restaurant close to our hotel in Berlin, so we chose Osteria Caruso. Even though there were many empty tables when we went to the restaurant, we decided to stay here to experience the place. However, our dining experience fell short of our expectations. Especially the pasta prepared on a parmesan wheel was a big disappointment. Frankly, I could have achieved a much better result if I had cooked the same dish myself at home. It was not satisfactory in terms of taste and the presentation was not attentive enough. However, we specifically ordered this pasta to try it. However, the tomato pizza and salad we mentioned before were quite delicious. We did not experience any negative issues in this regard and we were pleased with the starter portion of the meals. However, the overall service quality of the restaurant was poor. The service was indifferent and slow, which negatively affected our dining experience. As a result, although some of Osteria Caruso's dishes are successful, I think it should reconsider the taste and service quality, especially of the pasta made with a parmesan wheel. With a better service approach and culinary standard, the restaurant can offer a much better experience. For your information, I wish you good work.

Food was okay, as young people they weren't treated fairly at the level of an adult, and they defied good behavior. The man behind the bar was drunk and there were dull knives that you couldn't even cut through a bread roll with. No respect for your own customers. impudence.

Pizza was almost impossible to cut. Either that was due to the already blunt knife or the pizza itself. Employees were drunk and totally unfriendly. It would be better to hire young people. At the table next to us, young people were turned into dogs and prefer to go to Ali Baba on the corner.

The three of us were there yesterday and we were thrilled. Great service and the food was just great. We'll definitely be back.

The food was good and the atmosphere was nice, but unfortunately the service was really not good at all and very inattentive. They weren't necessarily super rude, but unfortunately they weren't really friendly either. When I arrived at the restaurant with my companion, only a few tables were occupied, so we couldn't understand why it took over a quarter of an hour for the order to be taken. Even as the restaurant became more crowded, the waiter rarely showed up. And as a result, the waiting times were unfortunately very long.

Good Italian restaurant on Köthener Straße, where there is no parking zone yet. The ambience is typical, the food is good, not bad and not outstanding either. We had reservations for the evening, which I would recommend. When we visited, the restaurant was full, so there were waiting times, but they weren't annoying. Price-performance is good. I can recommend the restaurant, but if you weren't there you didn't miss anything.

Tipica decoracion italiana,la mayoria del servicio tambien lo es.Tienen diversos platos de pasta,pizza y otras especialidades tipicas a buen precio.Las pizzas estaban bastante ricas con el borde crujiente,a la pasta carbonara le faltaba un punto de jugosidad porque estaba un poco apelmazada pero en general era buena y el plato muy abundante,los crostini no me gustaron porque el pan estaba completamente mojado por el jugo del tomate y no era el tipico pan tostadito,a parte no estaba aliñado con aceite virgen o no lo parecia.Creo que deberian dejar pan y aceite virgen en la mesa,como en cualquier italiano.El precio muy economico,vale la pena.

So unfortunately I have to mention something negative. The main course only comes in stages and not at the same time and now the dessert too. We have a Christmas party, one half received the dessert and the main course and the rest waited 15 minutes. Unfortunately that's a real shame, otherwise everything is great, food, location, waiter...

On Saturday we had the pleasure of celebrating a friend's birthday with a wonderful dinner - a treat for all the senses! The pizza with arugula and raw ham was simply delicious, and the pasta with ear clams, seafood and vegetables was perfectly balanced in taste. The crowning finale was a wonderfully creamy panna cotta. The service was first class: the waiter with his Italian charm made the evening even better. Glasses and plates were always filled without us ever having to wait. Everything went smoothly - an all-round successful evening that we can warmly recommend!

We waited more than half an hour for the waitress to come and take our drinks. After placing our order, the food and drinks came quickly. Unfortunately the food was tasteless. When it comes to pasta with salmon and a lobster sauce, you have certain ideas about how it should taste. Unfortunately here, after nothing. The pasta with pesto didn't taste like anything either. Very unfortunate.

“A birthday feast for the senses” The pasta with salmon in cream sauce was a poem, and the pizza with spicy salami was also incredibly tasty. The service was so authentic and friendly and authentic that you felt like you were on vacation. We'll definitely come back.

Italian cuisine at its finest! The pasta with ear clams, seafood and vegetables was absolutely fresh and flavorful, and the Pizza Vegetaria was a successful combination of crispy base and fresh ingredients. The waiter was incredibly friendly and gave us excellent advice.

Service employees were nice and courteous. We were 10 people. Two dishes came 10 minutes after the other dishes, so we couldn't start eating at the same time. The pizza was okay, but didn't blow us away.

The food was okay to good, but certainly nothing special. Contacting the service staff is difficult and sometimes I had to go to the bar. Unfortunately, our salad was forgotten and our daughter's food came much later and after we asked. Only cash payment is possible. The bill at the end was a handwritten piece of paper on which you could hardly see anything. However, the salad was on there, so I asked for a correction. Here came a new, similar piece of paper with an excessive amount of €64.40. When I noticed this, another waiter came again after several minutes and put a new bill on the table without comment. This time an official receipt with €58. The aforementioned amount was therefore 10% too high. Given the overall impression and other reviews here, I unfortunately have to assume that this wasn't an accident and it seems a bit as if there is a system behind it. Very unfortunate...

Delicious pasta, served with salad. Fast operation. Well-filled glass of wine. Cozy atmosphere. It is strange that no itemized bill was received at checkout, but a (higher than expected) final amount on a bill...

Very nice restaurant with very reasonable prices for Berlin Mitte. 🔝 I was here with colleagues and ate the best carbonara ever. A colleague ordered spaghetti with truffles and not only had great food but also a nice show. (see video)

We had high hopes for this restaurant near Potsdamer Platz, especially since it is run by Italians. Unfortunately our expectations were disappointed. The pizza was of inferior quality, comparable to the one from the kebab shop around the corner - the cheese was bad and lacked any taste. The pasta was also disappointing: undercooked, sticking to each other and completely tasteless. What was particularly irritating was that the pasta was described as a filet tip dish, but what was served had nothing to do with fillet. It was debatable what meat was used here, but it was definitely not what you would expect from a “tenderloin” dish. The tiramisu was OK. The service was also a disappointment: unfriendly and inattentive, which made the entire experience unpleasant. It was a real shame because we had been looking forward to good Italian cuisine and hospitality - unfortunately both didn't happen. Oh yes and we didn't receive the bill either.

Este restaurante estaba en el camino de nuestro hotel, así que pensamos en darle una oportunidad (después de comprobar TripAdvisor, por supuesto). Reservamos el día anterior y conseguimos una mesa para la cena. El restaurante estaba lleno, con un buen ambiente. Pensamos que el personal era divertido pero grosero, parecía que eran intencionalmente groseros solo para divertirse. Parecía que nos estaban ignorando. También la llegada de la comida fue un poco al azar. Dos veces me acerqué al personal para pedir servicio (no me importa hacer esto en estas situaciones). Todos disfrutamos de la comida. Era bueno, y el precio en nuestra opinión era barato para Berlín. Pedimos 2 pizzas grandes, 3 Carbonaras, 1 minestrone, 1 ñoquis, 2 botellas de agua, 8 cervezas y spritz Aperol, Euro 140. 50 . Comería aquí de nuevo, y recomendaría el restaurante si puedes soportar la actitud.

You feel like a regular when you walk in, even if it's your first or second visit.

I had a pizza, it was big and thin. I liked it. I didn't like the cola and the apple spritzer at all. It is a busy place and therefore very loud in the restaurant. We paid 69 euros for 2 adults and 2 children. We were there for the first and last time. We noticed afterwards that we had paid too much and had not received an invoice. Be careful!!!!

Good Italian food, not exactly cheap but reasonable given its proximity to Potsdamer Platz. The lunch offer was fair. It was very crowded at lunchtime during the week. As a result, it took a relatively long time, but the operation was not to be blamed for that.

The staff is very polite and full of humor. The food was very good because in some pizzerias the toppings come off the pizza, but here it's different because it doesn't come off here and because it's fresh and intense. The restaurant is decorated in a beautiful Italian style

Underground. Waited 1.5 hours for a pizza. No invoice received. It feels like they think up the prices. No card payment possible. The tax office should take a look.
