Ein gutes und ansprechend präsentiertes deutsches Gericht (Schweinebraten in dunkler Biersoße, mit Kartoffeln, Sauerkraut und Speck).

Waren spontan während einer Zwischenübernachtung zu Gast hier. Absolut zuvorkommender Service und sehr gute Qualität. Haben den Abend genossen und können das Restaurant nur weiterempfehlen.

Schäufele war traumhaft! 😍 Ich liebe fränkische Küche und hier kam ich voll auf meine Kosten. Die Beilagen, das Bier, der Nachtisch und der Cappuccino waren auch bombig. Service war sympathisch und Essen flott da. Klare Empfehlung! ♥️ Wenn ich wieder mal in Bayreuth bin, komme ich auf jeden Fall wieder.

Bei schönstem Wetter in der Fußgängerzone sitzen. Toller, aufmerksamer Service. Bier zu angenehmen Preisen. Das Essen war ein Traum. Der Sauerbraten-ich kann es nicht in Worte fassen.... Der Schäfersalat mit warmen Ziegenkäse und gerösteten Kartoffelscheiben- wir hatten bisher nichts vergleichbares! Eine absolute Empfehlung!!!

Sehr schönes Ambiente, Essen haben wir mit 5 Personen alles Quer- Beet ausprobiert: durchgehend köstlich, z.B. Schnitzel mit Brezelpanade, die auch danach schmeckt, einfach lecker, Bier super und schön kalt, Bedienung top, keine langen Wartezeiten auf irgend etwas, Hut ab! Reservierung empfohlen, drinnen sitzen (auch im Sommer) ist schöner und uriger wie draußen = klimatisiert. Für unserem nächsten Besuch in Bayreuth, reservieren wir schon jetzt... 😘

Nette Bedienung mit Humor, leckere Biere, das Essen schmeckt, aber man merkt ein bisschen die Massenabfertigung. Da ist noch Potential. Die Preise sind gut und angemessen. Ich kann's empfehlen.

Gut bürgerliche bayowarische Küche

Anderswo halb leer, hier komplett besetzt. Kaum war ein Tisch frei, wurde er sofort von einem neuen Gast eingenommen. Tolles Bier, angenehme Atmosphäre. Das Essen ist preiswert, traditionelle deutsche Küche, die Bedienung trägt Trachten.

Ein tolles urfränkisches altes Gasthaus mit sehr gutem Essen, klasse Bier und sehr netter, freundlicher Bedienung.

Urig schön und verdammt lecker. Wir wurden zwar Anfangs am Thresen von jedem ignoriert um zu unserem reservierten Tisch zu gelangen aber dann hatten wir einen sehr charmanten Kellner und extrem gutes leckeres Essen mit Sauerbraten, vegetarischem Schnitzel und Semmelknödelcarpaccio. Das Highlight war der Nachtisch Nougat-Knödel.

Es gibt hier die klassischen bayrischen Gerichte. Ich hatte ein sehr leckeres Schäufele und die Gerichte der Gäste am Nebentisch sahen auch sehr lecker aus.

Das Essen ist wirklich sehr lecker - etwas teurer, aber dafür erhält man auch hochwertiges Essen. Für (Geburtstags-)Feiern bietet es sich bestens an.

Am 23.05. war ich mit Freunden aus Nürnberg anlässlich eines Opernbesuchs in Bayreuth. Vor der Vorstellung haben wir im Restaurant "Oskar" gegessen. Da das Wetter herrlich warm war, waren die Außenplätze verständlicherweise sehr begehrt, weshalb wir im Innenbereich Platz nahmen. Das Lokal ist wirklich sehr schön, aber das Wichtigste: Das Essen war hervorragend! Ich hatte das Filet mit Kartoffelsalat als Beilage und ein dunkles Radler. Das Fleisch war exakt auf dem Punkt medium zubereitet. Auch der Service war erstklassig, wir kommen definitiv wieder!

Super Wirtshaus, urig. Sehr gutes Essen und leckeres Bier. Service sehr gut. Wenn man mit mehr als 2 Leuten unterwegs ist, besser Tisch reservieren, da sehr begehrt.

Top, gemütlich und jede Menge nette Leute. Super Service und tolles Essen. Leider gibt es so gut wie nie Haxe. Das Schäufele ist aber auch super.

Authentische Brauerei. Alles ist köstlich.

Zweifellos das authentischste oberfränkische Essen! Der Haxen, jetzt „Schaufelte“ genannt, ist ein butterzarter Schwan mit knuspriger Kruste. Die Kartoffelbeilage passt hervorragend dazu. An einem schönen Tag ist es draußen herrlich, aber auch das alte, dunkle bayerische Ambiente im Inneren ist erstklassig. Ich liebe Oskars einfach.

Kurz: schwacher Service, bringt eine halbe Kinderportion, anstatt einer Entschuldigung wird die 2. Portion (diese ist doppelt so groß wie die davor) noch in Rechnung gestellt. Auf Nachfrage dann ausweichend und auf Stress in der Küche geschoben. Unschön, so eine Erfahrung. Lang: Eigentlich ein sehr schönes Restaurant, aber der Gesamteindruck wurde leider stark negativ vom Service geprägt: Ein Tisch mussten wir uns quasi erkämpfen, nur mit Glück haben wir einen gerade freiwerdenden ergattern können. Dann fast 20min versucht die Bedienung auf uns aufmerksam zu machen, das Kind schon halb am verhungern. Zur Überraschung kam das Essen sogar noch vor den Getränken relativ zügig. Leider war die Kinder Portion Spätzle ein riesiger, so gut wie leerer Teller. 6 Löffel sind selbst für ein Kind zu wenig! Auf Nachfrage wurde nur eine zusätzliche Bestellung angeboten, die wie sich zum Schluss heraus stellte voll berechnet wurde. Auf Nachfrage wurde der Fehler auf die Küche geschoben und eigene Unwissenheit vorgeschoben. Ja, wir wurden von drei Servicekräften bedient, sodass die eine nichts von der anderen wusste, trotzdem ist das keine angemessene Reaktion auf einen Fehler des Hauses. Geschmacklich war das Essen ganz gut, aber aufgrund der Service Erfahrung leider keine Empfehlung meinerseits.

Wir haben hier sehr lecker und deftig gegessen. Die Bedienung war sehr nett, freundlich und hilfsbereit. Wer typisch bayerische Küche in Bayreuth genießen möchte, ist hier am richtigen Ort.

Zum ersten Mal in Bayreuth und zum ersten Mal in diesem tollen Wirtshaus bei Kaiserwetter☀️👍 Da Gewitter aufzog bin ich gleich mal in das urgemütliche und ziemlich riesige Gasthaus 🍀 wunderschöne Location - wahnsinnig tolle Räumlichkeiten und gemütliches Brauhaus Ambiente 🔝 Nachdem ich mir das erstmal ausgiebig bestaunt habe, fand ich auch ein gemütliches Plätzchen unter der riesigen Glaskuppel. Freundlicher Empfang, Getränk kam prompt und auch mein "Sonderwünsche" (Sauerkraut statt Krautsalat) wurde anstandslos angenommen. Das bestellte Schäuferla kam zügig, trotz ordentlichem Betrieb, sah hervorragend aus und schmeckte traumhaft 🙏🥰 Mein Affogato als Nachtisch war auch super lecker (das Eis war noch fest, trotz des heißen Espressos) und schmeckte lecker. Der Service war sehr freundlich und aufmerksam👍 Der zwischenzeitliche Wolkenbruch veranlasste viele Gäste samt Essen und Getränken nach Drinnen zu gehen. Das ging durch den hilfsbereiten Service ruhig und zügig von Statten, ohne, dass die Gäste drinnen dabei großartig gestört wurden. Ich hatte einen traumhaft schönen Aufenthalt bei euch 🙏❤️🍀 DANKE! Ihr habt dazu beigetragen, dass mein 1. Besuch in Bayreuth zu einem Highlight würde! Ich komme wieder - versprochen 😊👍☀️🍀♥️

Wirklich tolles Lokal mit schöner Gestaltung und dem Theken- und Bierkonzept nach tschechisch/böhmischen Vorbild. Das zeigt sich in einer modernen, toll gestalteten Theke, sichtbare Biertanks im Thekenbereich, sehr kalt gezapften Bier was einen erfrischenden Biergenuss bringt. Dazu kommt wirklich flottes Personal und einwandfreies gutes Essen. Absolute Empfehlung! Für mich war das ein Überraschungserlebnis und ich habe es woanders so in Deutschland noch nicht erlebt.

Zum Essen: war absolut lecker! Portionsgröße genau richtig und auch schön hergerichtet. Platz haben wir an den Tischen befindet Bar bekommen. Wenn man im Saal einen haben möchte empfehle ich zu reservieren - draußen bei den Tischen muss man einfach Glück haben um einen zu bekommen.

Vor allem der Wirtshaus Salat, die Pommes und Bratkartoffeln und besonders auch die Knödel Variationen zum Nachtisch sind wirklich wirklich gut!! Wir waren innerhalb von drei Tagen direkt zweimal da. Auch sehr gut für Vegetarier und Veganer, super Angebot!

Das Essen war hervorragend, die Lage erstklassig und das Bier von höchster Qualität! Wir hatten das Glück, von Dani bedient zu werden – der Service war herausragend, freundlich und sehr charmant! Sollte ich Bayreuth jemals wieder besuchen, werde ich definitiv wieder dort essen! Absolut empfehlenswert!

Located in the heart of the Old Town, OSKAR is a great place for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Fantastic beer decor, great service, excellent breakfasts, delicious beer (the tasting board is superbly described), and a wonderful atmosphere. A magical place!

The place is quite old but it's large. The important thing is the taste of the food, and the food is a 10 out of 10, the meats are tender and flavorful, just thinking about it makes my mouth water.

We really wanted to eat here because the online menu, the photos on the website, and the good reviews appealed to us, but the parking situation on site is a bit of a disaster: one side only allows parking with a disability parking permit (which is good in itself), the other side requires a parking ticket (also fine), but with a maximum parking time of 30 minutes. Therefore, only 2 stars, because a restaurant simply needs sufficient parking.

Formerly the town hall, then a police station, now a traditional inn. A rustic ambiance, several rooms decorated with great attention to detail – one even has a tree! The menu features mostly Franconian classics, including the national dish "Schäuferla" (roast pork shoulder) with its crispy crackling, served with a dumpling and coleslaw – generous portions and delicious, perfect for a big appetite :-) The service is quick, friendly, and attentive. It's also quite busy at lunchtime on weekdays; after all, word gets around about the quality...

We went to Oskar in Bayreuth with our club on Saturday and were thrilled! The food was wonderful, but what made the evening perfect was the outstanding service. We felt extremely welcome as a group – simply fantastic hosts.

Excellent service, charming atmosphere and delicious food

We visit this Franconian restaurant at least once a month and always feel very comfortable there. The menu is varied, the food is consistently delicious, and the value for money is excellent. The friendly staff, who wear traditional dress, deserve special mention. Even when the restaurant is full and busy, they remain attentive and welcoming. Despite the high demand, the dishes arrive promptly. The menu offers classic Franconian dishes as well as vegetarian and vegan options. Smaller portions are available for seniors upon request at 80% of the regular price. Families with children are also well catered for: if children don't find anything suitable on the menu, alternatives are readily offered. In addition to good food, there is a nice selection of specialty coffees, alcoholic beverages, and homemade lemonades. A charming touch is the menu written in the Franconian dialect, which is beautifully designed yet easily understandable even for non-Franconians. ...``]] One minor criticism concerns the online reservation system: Currently, only the salutations "Mr," "Mrs," "Company," and "Family" are available. A neutral or optional salutation would be preferable. Overall, however, this restaurant is highly recommended. We're already looking forward to our next visit – and it certainly won't be our last!

I made a reservation for two people at Oskar Bayreuth online two days ago, and it worked out perfectly. The staff is very friendly, attentive, and welcoming, but not at all pushy. The food was delicious and plentiful. The whole atmosphere is so inviting that you'll want to linger and return. If I'm ever in Bayreuth again, I'll definitely come back here. This restaurant is an absolute must-visit.

I dined at OSKAR yesterday and would like to share my experience honestly, yet respectfully. I ordered the so-called Oskar schnitzel with potato salad. Unfortunately, I have to say that the schnitzel didn't impress me. For the price, it was quite tough for my taste and not at all what I had hoped for. That's a shame, as one has certain expectations for a classic dish like schnitzel. I feel it's important to emphasize that as a customer, you should have the courage to address such issues directly – many don't dare, but that's the only way things can improve in the long run. For me personally, this schnitzel was not enjoyable. However, I would like to commend the service: very polite, attentive, and regularly checking in to see if anything was needed or if everything was alright – definitely a plus for that. The beer was also fine, and the atmosphere was pleasant overall, although a touch chilly for my liking. So, overall, the visit was mixed: the service and ambiance were good, but I had definitely expected more from the food. Perhaps I just had an unlucky day – I hope the kitchen staff sees the feedback as an opportunity for improvement.

A wonderful, very cozy restaurant with tasteful interior design. The service was exceptionally friendly and attentive, and the food, of course, was delicious. When I'm back in Bayreuth, I will definitely return to Oskar's for another delicious meal.

A great idea for breakfast – a wide selection, everything delicious. And you can also drink good beer. A definite must-stop! :) I recommend it and hope to return someday!

Very good food, very friendly service and a very nice atmosphere

We were spontaneously looking for a delicious meal and stopped at Oskar. As soon as we walked in, we were enveloped in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. It was very busy, but not uncomfortably so. We were given a lovely table in the back room, which was also very cozy and beautifully decorated. The staff were immediately attentive and very friendly. They didn't seem stressed at all by the large number of customers; a smile and a kind word made us feel right at home. Our meals were fantastic. I can highly recommend the children's schnitzel with special Spätzle, the Schäufele (a must-try), and the venison goulash, also with special Spätzle. The portions were absolutely generous. We'll definitely be back!

A lovely place that doesn't look like much from the outside. The service, the space, and the food were all excellent – ​​5 stars from me, I'd gladly come again. For parking, I recommend the Rotmaincenter parking garage; you just have to walk a bit.

While passing through, we spontaneously decided to try Kaiserschmarrn and Google led us to Oskar Wirtshaus. It's a rather pricey restaurant in a historic building in Bayreuth's old town. A fairly large and noisy place serving regional cuisine. We got a table relatively quickly. Kaiserschmarrn is served with vanilla ice cream, which makes the portion quite small.

Excellent pub food and good beer for every taste. Although the place was packed on December 23rd, we were served in a friendly manner.

Extremely poor service and rude staff and management. Last time we are going there cannot recommend.

The quality of the food has declined significantly in recent years. Sometimes an ingredient is missing from the plate, other times the meat is too tough to cut with a normal knife, or the vegetables are oversalted. On Christmas Day, the large room was so cold that you didn't even want to take off your jacket, let alone stay longer than necessary. I won't be visiting again anytime soon.

Centrally located on the market square, everyone can find something to their liking here. This Franconian inn is always packed. Good, traditional fare. The prices are reasonable. The service is quick, friendly, and efficient. The food is always plentiful and delicious.

A fantastic location in Bayreuth! Reservations are a must, it's very popular! The service was outstanding; the friendly young man was very courteous and attentive – thank you so much, you don't experience that very often. The food arrived quickly and was delicious! I'd never had wild boar schnitzel before, it was really good. The dumplings in mushroom sauce were generous and almost impossible to finish. The dessert and the beer brandy are also highly recommended. Artfully designed chalkboards and seasonal decorations completed our visit. Our two dogs were immediately given water and even offered a slice of ham! Communicating via email regarding a reservation change was also quick and easy.

We were absolutely thrilled. The food was incredibly delicious, and we enjoyed the best and most attentive service we've had in ages! And all at a great price. Even though the place is huge, you should definitely make a reservation. It was packed, but still super cozy. The interior design is a great mix of modern and rustic, which we loved. If you're ever in Bayreuth, you absolutely have to go there!

Very friendly staff and good food. Reasonable value for money. We had schnitzel with mushroom sauce and Spätzle, and another schnitzel with fries – admittedly, the latter was missing sauce. It wasn't on the menu, though. So you might want to order it separately.
