Located in the heart of the Old Town, OSKAR is a great place for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Fantastic beer decor, great service, excellent breakfasts, delicious beer (the tasting board is superbly described), and a wonderful atmosphere. A magical place!

A very good Bavarian restaurant with a certain ambiance... Service and food are very good... Price/performance ratio is right and reasonable!

The place is quite old but it's large. The important thing is the taste of the food, and the food is a 10 out of 10, the meats are tender and flavorful, just thinking about it makes my mouth water.

We really wanted to eat here because the online menu, the photos on the website, and the good reviews appealed to us, but the parking situation on site is a bit of a disaster: one side only allows parking with a disability parking permit (which is good in itself), the other side requires a parking ticket (also fine), but with a maximum parking time of 30 minutes. Therefore, only 2 stars, because a restaurant simply needs sufficient parking.

Delicious food, delicious beer, great atmosphere.

Formerly the town hall, then a police station, now a traditional inn. A rustic ambiance, several rooms decorated with great attention to detail – one even has a tree! The menu features mostly Franconian classics, including the national dish "Schäuferla" (roast pork shoulder) with its crispy crackling, served with a dumpling and coleslaw – generous portions and delicious, perfect for a big appetite :-) The service is quick, friendly, and attentive. It's also quite busy at lunchtime on weekdays; after all, word gets around about the quality...

We went to Oskar in Bayreuth with our club on Saturday and were thrilled! The food was wonderful, but what made the evening perfect was the outstanding service. We felt extremely welcome as a group – simply fantastic hosts.

Excellent service, charming atmosphere and delicious food

We visit this Franconian restaurant at least once a month and always feel very comfortable there. The menu is varied, the food is consistently delicious, and the value for money is excellent. The friendly staff, who wear traditional dress, deserve special mention. Even when the restaurant is full and busy, they remain attentive and welcoming. Despite the high demand, the dishes arrive promptly. The menu offers classic Franconian dishes as well as vegetarian and vegan options. Smaller portions are available for seniors upon request at 80% of the regular price. Families with children are also well catered for: if children don't find anything suitable on the menu, alternatives are readily offered. In addition to good food, there is a nice selection of specialty coffees, alcoholic beverages, and homemade lemonades. A charming touch is the menu written in the Franconian dialect, which is beautifully designed yet easily understandable even for non-Franconians. ...``]] One minor criticism concerns the online reservation system: Currently, only the salutations "Mr," "Mrs," "Company," and "Family" are available. A neutral or optional salutation would be preferable. Overall, however, this restaurant is highly recommended. We're already looking forward to our next visit – and it certainly won't be our last!

I made a reservation for two people at Oskar Bayreuth online two days ago, and it worked out perfectly. The staff is very friendly, attentive, and welcoming, but not at all pushy. The food was delicious and plentiful. The whole atmosphere is so inviting that you'll want to linger and return. If I'm ever in Bayreuth again, I'll definitely come back here. This restaurant is an absolute must-visit.

I dined at OSKAR yesterday and would like to share my experience honestly, yet respectfully. I ordered the so-called Oskar schnitzel with potato salad. Unfortunately, I have to say that the schnitzel didn't impress me. For the price, it was quite tough for my taste and not at all what I had hoped for. That's a shame, as one has certain expectations for a classic dish like schnitzel. I feel it's important to emphasize that as a customer, you should have the courage to address such issues directly – many don't dare, but that's the only way things can improve in the long run. For me personally, this schnitzel was not enjoyable. However, I would like to commend the service: very polite, attentive, and regularly checking in to see if anything was needed or if everything was alright – definitely a plus for that. The beer was also fine, and the atmosphere was pleasant overall, although a touch chilly for my liking. So, overall, the visit was mixed: the service and ambiance were good, but I had definitely expected more from the food. Perhaps I just had an unlucky day – I hope the kitchen staff sees the feedback as an opportunity for improvement.

A lovely place that doesn't look like much from the outside. The service, the space, and the food were all excellent – ​​5 stars from me, I'd gladly come again. For parking, I recommend the Rotmaincenter parking garage; you just have to walk a bit.

We were spontaneously looking for a delicious meal and stopped at Oskar. As soon as we walked in, we were enveloped in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. It was very busy, but not uncomfortably so. We were given a lovely table in the back room, which was also very cozy and beautifully decorated. The staff were immediately attentive and very friendly. They didn't seem stressed at all by the large number of customers; a smile and a kind word made us feel right at home. Our meals were fantastic. I can highly recommend the children's schnitzel with special Spätzle, the Schäufele (a must-try), and the venison goulash, also with special Spätzle. The portions were absolutely generous. We'll definitely be back!

While passing through, we spontaneously decided to try Kaiserschmarrn and Google led us to Oskar Wirtshaus. It's a rather pricey restaurant in a historic building in Bayreuth's old town. A fairly large and noisy place serving regional cuisine. We got a table relatively quickly. Kaiserschmarrn is served with vanilla ice cream, which makes the portion quite small.

Always a good address in Bayreuth, very delicious cuisine just as you would want in a Bavarian/Franconian inn.

The quality of the food has declined significantly in recent years. Sometimes an ingredient is missing from the plate, other times the meat is too tough to cut with a normal knife, or the vegetables are oversalted. On Christmas Day, the large room was so cold that you didn't even want to take off your jacket, let alone stay longer than necessary. I won't be visiting again anytime soon.

A fantastic location in Bayreuth! Reservations are a must, it's very popular! The service was outstanding; the friendly young man was very courteous and attentive – thank you so much, you don't experience that very often. The food arrived quickly and was delicious! I'd never had wild boar schnitzel before, it was really good. The dumplings in mushroom sauce were generous and almost impossible to finish. The dessert and the beer brandy are also highly recommended. Artfully designed chalkboards and seasonal decorations completed our visit. Our two dogs were immediately given water and even offered a slice of ham! Communicating via email regarding a reservation change was also quick and easy.

We were absolutely thrilled. The food was incredibly delicious, and we enjoyed the best and most attentive service we've had in ages! And all at a great price. Even though the place is huge, you should definitely make a reservation. It was packed, but still super cozy. The interior design is a great mix of modern and rustic, which we loved. It's alright. Food is slightly above average but nothing special. It's like Olive garden if you expect a real Italian restaurant.

We had our Christmas party at Oskar's. The roast goose breast was excellent. For dessert, we enjoyed a selection of different desserts offered at Oskar's. The service was friendly, and as expected, the restaurant was very busy. The high ceilings made it quite noisy. But it's always a safe bet; you can't go wrong with Oskar's.

Unfortunately, not so good. It only benefits from its location. If it were in the heart of Franconia, it wouldn't stand a chance. The beer steak was dry, and there was no sauce, making it difficult to eat. The pork shoulder was crispy to dry, and the sauce was neither here nor there. The spices were indistinguishable from the roast pork. Every change to the ordered dish costs one euro. Seriously? The restaurant was very noisy; apparently, they've never heard of soundproofing or pictures.

I ate here forty years ago while stationed in Bindlach. I still remember it like yesterday. I had the Sauerbraten, Kartoffelkloss, and Rotkohl. It was so unforgettable. It looks exactly the same today.
