We were there for the second time. As always, it was a great evening despite the pre-Christmas rush and busy evening business. The pork shoulder was fantastic, and the pike-perch was also very, very good. The Kaiserschmarrn wasn't to my taste, and at almost €10, it was a bit small. But that's forgivable. Definitely recommended!

Unfortunately, not so good. It only benefits from its location. If it were in the heart of Franconia, it wouldn't stand a chance. The beer steak was dry, and there was no sauce, making it difficult to eat. The pork shoulder was crispy to dry, and the sauce was neither here nor there. The spices were indistinguishable from the roast pork. Every change to the ordered dish costs one euro. Seriously? The restaurant was very noisy; apparently, they've never heard of soundproofing or pictures.

Unfortunately, I can't comment on dinner as we only sat at the bar in the evenings. Breakfast was very good and offered excellent value for money. We'll definitely be back on our next visit!

We were thrilled with the warm water, the large saltwater whirlpool, and the friendly staff. Sun loungers are not allowed to be reserved with towels, so there are always some available. Excellent.

I ate here forty years ago while stationed in Bindlach. I still remember it like yesterday. I had the Sauerbraten, Kartoffelkloss, and Rotkohl. It was so unforgettable. It looks exactly the same today.

We decided to go there very spontaneously during our business trip, were lucky enough not to have to wait in line, and got a table. It got very busy quite quickly, but the service was super friendly and the food arrived incredibly fast – absolutely delicious! Unfortunately, it was so crowded the next day at the same time that we didn't get a chance to eat there. We would have loved to go back. We'll definitely come again on our next visit to Bayreuth – with a reservation next time. Highly recommended!

It was worth it! The atmosphere was great and had charm and style. I was seated quickly and quickly felt at home. The menu was well-designed and not too crowded. I was served by the friendly and polite Stella and was very satisfied. She wasn't pushy and recommended a good beer. I only drink beer occasionally, and this one was tasty and went down well. I ordered a crispy Franconian Schäufele (pork shoulder) and was very satisfied with it as well. Overall, a very good experience and truly delicious.

We've enjoyed going here for 17 years. Back then, Oskar didn't have as much competition and was a good alternative to the traditional Franconian restaurants, which we also love. Oskar combined tradition with current trends, and did so very successfully. Now, the premises have been tastefully renovated and the menu revised. With consequences. 1. Entrance area: No draft! 2. Staff: Much more dynamic! Ayoub, our waiter, was very quick, friendly, and personable. He even recognized us. 3. Food: We've never had better food here. The wild boar leg was tender as butter, the gravy was to die for, and the potato and pumpkin mash inspired us to try it again. The grass-fed roast beef was a feast for non-vegetarians. The inn soup came with semolina and liver dumplings in a glass tureen and tasted sublime. A small downside: All the delicious dishes, which are also a visual feast, cannot be properly admired because the lighting is a bit dim.

Service & Atmosphere From the very beginning, the service was excellent. You immediately feel welcome, almost a bit like you're at home – you really feel that homey feeling here. The service was consistently friendly, attentive, and courteous. Food My schnitzel was super delicious and perfectly thin. It was served with fried potatoes that were cooked to perfection – crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. A dish I'd happily recommend. Drinks I particularly liked the beer of the month: Bayreuther Urstoff. Typically Franconian, freshly tapped – and they even serve a Maß (literally "middle-sized beer"), which gives the whole experience even more of a beer garden feel. Process The order was taken quickly and delivered promptly. No long wait, just a smooth process that made the visit pleasant and relaxed. Conclusion The Oskar in Bayreuth impresses across the board: great food, friendly service, and an authentic atmosphere. For me, it's absolutely worth 5 stars and a clear recommendation for anyone who wants to eat well and enjoy a comfortable meal in Bayreuth.

Appearances can be deceiving. What might at first glance appear to be a plain restaurant turns out to be a haven of delicacies and hospitality. Although almost all the tables were occupied and the place was noticeably busy, we still found a free seat, which was offered with a friendly smile and a warm welcome. It was nice to feel that our hostess, Dani, represents customer service and service orientation par excellence. Attentive without being intrusive, structured, fast, and professional, we felt completely at ease and can only praise her highly. But the rest of the service team, for their outstanding commitment, and the kitchen, for the delicious food, also deserve special mention. The management should be proud of such excellent employees. You're doing a fantastic job! The food was absolutely top-notch. Simply delicious, fresh, without any frills, focusing on the essentials: taste. The schnitzel with potato salad is a real treat, but the dumplings are also absolutely delicious and taste delicious. The crowning glory is the wheat beer tiramisu, a true treat for the palate. A quaint and delicious restaurant in a central location. Reservations are essential, as it's very popular. A large selection of food and drinks is available. Favorite dishes include pan-fried schnitzel, beef with horseradish, and Schäuferla (a kind of pork shoulder).

The food was delicious, the portions generous and beautifully presented. The atmosphere is modern, clean, and family-friendly. Wonderful. However, we had to wait a while for a seat, with staff walking past us six times without greeting us or saying anything other than, "Please step aside." Also, no alternative milks (oat/almond milk) were available for coffee or tea for either of us, which we find surprising for a modern restaurant in a fairly large city these days. Even our construction workers prefer oat milk when given the choice. That's not too much to ask from such a large restaurant. So, no excuse for the lack of alternative milk. Just "no." This really brought down the star rating, as we couldn't relax and finish our meal in peace but had to leave to get a coffee elsewhere.

I didn't choose the restaurant myself; I was invited there. Because I don't really like dumplings, I had the cheese spaetzle, and what can I say? They weren't cheese spaetzle. They were far too runny from all the cream; the cheese, contrary to the menu description, wasn't at all flavorful and was burnt in places, and the fried onions were bitter. I wouldn't recommend this dish to anyone. The ambiance was quite nice, but the restrooms are a bit hidden. The service was good, but for my taste, it was rather unpleasantly pushy; you can tell they're trying to sell a lot. If you like Franconian restaurants and enjoy the odd unusual Sunday roast, you can definitely choose this place; I personally wouldn't want to eat there voluntarily.
