O'sheas in Nürnberg

We arrived at 22:30 on Sunday, September 14th, and it was closed. I guess it's closed on Sundays. But it looks open on its website.

This is a truly atmospheric spot with an authentic Irish spirit: vaulted ceilings, a wide selection of beer and whiskey, classic dishes, and a cozy beer garden in summer. Here you’ll also find the coldest and best-tasting Guinness in town — and, more recently, even Guinness 0.0% has been added to the menu. The vibe is friendly — staff often chat with guests in a casual, cheerful way, with jokes and small talk, so you quickly feel at home. Regular visitors are remembered, and relationships often grow into genuine friendships. During peak hours service can slow down and small mistakes happen, but the team usually keeps a smile and a warm attitude, which balances out the delays. It’s also worth noting that this is one of the few places where drinks are served almost instantly in most cases — you rarely wait long at the bar, and even at the tables drinks are usually brought out fairly quickly. This stood out especially on St. Patrick’s Day: the pub was packed, the atmosphere loud and chaotic, yet a few waitresses still managed the tables professionally, while the bartenders worked fast and efficiently, taking orders and serving drinks without delay. All in all, it’s a great place for a fun evening with friends or to soak up the festive energy of an Irish pub — just keep in mind that on peak days, a bit of patience may be required.

We sat down for a bit and had a drink after a stroll through the city. When I visited, there were plenty of tables and chairs available, but the seating was a bit cramped. I also had a wooden chair that had a "wooden butt" left over. Cushions would be a nice addition.

I had a great time with my colleagues. Ordered Chicken Tandoori but it was nothing like the original chicken tandoori. It was just white rice with not-so-well-cooked chicken with some gravy. Over all it was ok.

I was last here about 20 years ago, and nothing has changed. The food is wonderful, especially the mushrooms. The beer is freshly tapped and tasty. The only thing I could possibly criticize is that the staff could be a bit fussy. But after all these years, I have absolutely no regrets about eating and drinking here again. 😍😍😍

Since people from the Eastern European war zone began working in your service department, the service has become unacceptable. I have often observed, most recently recorded in detail on July 20, 2025, between approximately 6 p.m. and approximately 9:30 p.m., how your aforementioned employees repeatedly lingered at the tables of their fellow countrymen for long periods of time during their working hours, consuming drinks, smoking, laughing, and talking with their fellow countrymen during their working hours, thereby neglecting their work and ignoring other guests. Furthermore, your employees are very loud in their private conversations with each other in their native language. They look directly at you and ignore you, continuing to talk loudly among themselves, laughing, and preferentially serving the tables of their fellow countrymen. Your employees also take an above-average amount of time to check out waiting guests. Your current team is alienating your regulars with their extremely negative behavior! Is this still an Irish pub or an Eastern European bistro?

A super cool Irish pub in Nuremberg. The beer is great and the food is delicious. I love coming here.

A classic Irish pub with a beer garden on the Pegnitz River. The menu features many Irish classics, such as Shepherd's Pie and Irish Stew, which are well worth trying. The pub itself has a beautiful vaulted cellar and is decorated very realistically like a typical Irish pub. The staff is relaxed, uncomplicated, and friendly, and prices are reasonable for all budgets. The beer garden on the Pegnitz River is a must-have, especially in summer. If you like coziness with an Irish flair, this is the place for you.

Came at a busy night but the bartenders were great and the crowd is super nice. Had a few strangers make small talk with me. I came in right before midnight and luckily they asked the kitchen if I could have wings still so that's a win in my book.

Beautiful location on the Pegnitz River, but the service was extremely unfriendly. Everything was available, no reservations were made, but we were forced to sit in the sun and weren't allowed to put tables together.

Irish Pub with great atmosphere and a super Irish Session every Monday from 7.30pm except the first Monday of the month

First we waited over 30 minutes for our order to be taken, then another 45 minutes for the drinks and finally an hour to pay.

Very good food, but unfortunately, we were "kicked out" after two hours because the table was reserved for the next guests. Unfortunately, they didn't inform us when making the reservation that we only had one time slot... What a shame...

Pleasant beer garden with a view of the old town and the Pegnitz. In addition to German beer, there is also the well-known Guinness and a red ale. The Irish stew and the fish'n chips can compete very well with the dishes in Ireland. In addition to ketchup and mayonnaise, you can also get the Malt Vinegar, which is typical for Ireland/GB, for the chips. The beer garden and the restaurant are definitely recommended.

The bathroom is kind of a pain if you sit outside. Expect a 5 to 10 min wait for your drinks outside. The location is their Achilles heel, sit on the river and shut up. Their outside service only works bc of the location.

Great mixed crowd. Murphy's and Guinness fine. Classic old Nuremberg ambience. People meet here who would otherwise have no contact in real life. By the way, the food is pretty okay too.

Amazing place. I went today for my lunch. The view is very good, good songs at low volume gives you the perfect place for those conversations. The staff is welcoming and the food is good too.

Hello peanuts skin all over the ground. A close, cosy feels of an Irish pub.

Cozy, good whiskey, good food. Service top. But the staff's taste in music has changed dramatically. Way too hard and too loud.

It is a nice place to have an Irish beer. The place has a nice atmosphere but also very friendly staff. One of the suggestions will be to provide WiFi as the place is underground the reception is a little bit difficult. I tried the nachos and were very good, perhaps a little bit more of salsa would be better, but it is ok! Ohh they also have a beer garden on the corner where you can sit next to the river! That's a nice a one!!

We arrived at the pub and sat by the bar until a space opened at one of the barrel tables. Whilst we were sat there about to order our second round, the staff took a booking for the table and told us we’d have to leave in 20 mins. The waitress was very highly strung with us and had earlier pushed us out the way as she was rushing round the bar. She was very confrontational considering the staff had rudely booked out a table whilst we were sat on it.

O’Sheas has been there as long as I can think and to this day is one of my favorite Irish Pubs in Nürnberg. Great location, great people, great atmosphere!

Service: although everything is quite fast, it’s not particularly neat, the waiters are not particularly polite All the dishes are terribly dirty and covered in plaque Atmosphere: although the building is indeed made in the appropriate aesthetics of ancient Scandinavia, the toilets are terrible, firstly, as soon as you get there you feel as if you are suddenly teleported from Scandinavia to the underground toilets of the metro. The booths are terribly small and cramped. My verdict: not worth it

First time in 2021, fantastic bar. In October 2024, terrible service from the manager. He closed the bar much earlier than the indicated time. Today at 11:35 pm, I walked in and said straight away that it would be the last order, that there were few customers. I left without ordering anything. I'm at Mulligan's and the bar is full, as was Kloster and Mata Harai, all nearby... Terrible, I won't be back...

A classic pub with Irish but also regional Bavarian beers, cider, etc. There are also typical pub dishes such as burgers, fish and chips or smaller snacks. The location is suitable for larger groups and the staff is extremely accommodating. Unfortunately, when it's busy, the pub is a bit noisy, making it difficult to have conversations, and the air can sometimes be a bit stuffy. All in all, this is a typical pub for a relaxed and unpretentious evening with good drinks and friends.

Über viele Jahre ist dieser Irish Pub ein super Lokal für den Drink am Abend. Besonders im Biergarten am Fluß ist es sehr angenehm zu sitzen und die flotten Jungs im Service haben uns mit verschiedenen, sehr guten Bieren versorgt. Das gibt es nichts zu meckern, einfach nur schön dort und preislich super fair. Wir kommen sicher bald wieder!

For many years this Irish pub has been a great place for an evening drink. It is particularly pleasant to sit in the beer garden by the river and the quick service guys provided us with a variety of very good beers. There's nothing to complain about, it's just beautiful there and the price is super fair. We'll definitely be back soon!

Come in and find (not) out. Fascinated by the interior space from the first second, on Sunday lunchtime you can sit comfortably next to the rushing Pegnitz waterfall. The friendly lady from the service inside explains clearly: outside in the evening, inside during the day is better. Because: cooler at lunchtime, so are the drinks. I gave my Helles back when it felt like it was 20 degrees. Still on the bill. We didn't clarify it, didn't want to spoil our good mood and are patrons anyway. Afterwards we took a seat in the beautiful, cozy clinker cellar, which was at a pleasant temperature, with all kinds of soft drinks as well as traditional fish and chips. The wedding party and music captured our hearts.

Osheas is always beautiful. Unfortunately, service was no longer offered after 9:30 p.m. After an hour and a half of waiting (and waving and and) we went to the bar to pay. Food/drinks etc were all great.

A rustic but at the same time modern Irish Pup, as you would imagine. Very friendly service who gave us very good advice about the large selection of beers, cocktails, etc. The toilets are clean and generally a clean, well-maintained place that invites you to party. Unfortunately I can't rate the food today because we didn't eat anything.

Well, I've been here so many times, and this one time when I forget my ID I'm not allowed to order anything here. That has NEVER happened to me before. The lady who served me is absolutely rude and you can thank her for having one less group of customers.

Must try: chicken wings, Tortilla chips, cottage pie and Cider. Forgot to take pictures every time I visit this place, always come with a lot of hunger, so that's why no pictures.

Esta fue mi segunda visita a O’Sheas y fue tan increíble como la primera. Empezamos nuestra primera en el jardín de la cerveza, hacía 31 grados centígrados y el sudor salía de mí mientras caminaba hacia el jardín de la cerveza y una bebida fría o dos realmente golpeó el lugar. El tipo que nos atendió fue muy atento y amable... la cerveza era muy apreciada y a un precio muy razonable. Yo estaba con mi esposa, teníamos cosas que hacer... pero realmente me gustó la ubicación. . volvimos unas horas más tarde y tuve que tomar el guiso irlandés, era muy mal momento del año para tenerlo. . pero disfruté tanto la última vez que tuve que tenerlo de nuevo... no me decepcionó. El servicio era genial y en poco tiempo me estaba metiendo en un buen guiso .. apto para la nobleza. Con todo, una gran visita que repetiré. La cerveza estaba sabrosa y mi vaso siempre estaba lleno. La comida era deliciosa y abundante... el personal (martes 9 de julio por la noche) era genial, el servicio y la atención que recibimos fue increíble. ¡Espero con ansias mi próximo tazón de guiso irlandés!

The rush of the Pegnitz through the adjacent weir is outstanding. Food: Unfortunately it was more of a standard burger, I would have expected more for an Irish pub. Still tasty with the fries and coleslaw. I paid a little more than €21.00 for the burger with fries and coleslaw and a Helles 0.5. I think it's okay. Definitely worth a visit.

Great restaurant with a great atmosphere. The pub is rustically furnished and clearly has the feeling of an Irish pub. The service staff are always very helpful and quick. The range of beers, whiskeys, ciders and the like is extensive. Unfortunately, the food wasn't to our liking, but we still like to come back here and enjoy the atmosphere and the great selection of drinks. In summer you can also sit outside here when the weather is good.

Really nice Irish bar. You can eat something or just drink something, you can stay longer or just come for a glass. A woman can be young or you can be older. All are welcome. The atmosphere is relaxed and the service is friendly, so we were given a small glass of beer to try beforehand.

Unfortunately I have to deduct two stars. The burger with the rosemary sauce was incredibly tasty. Unfortunately I have to deduct a star from the bookmark steak. The steak was well done instead of medium and instead of a baguette it was a baked roll that didn't even work Toasted and therefore very chewy. Unfortunately I have to deduct the other star because at first we only had the table until 7 p.m. and when we wanted to pay there was no service for ages. All in all, pretty good.

The restaurant is great, very rustic. I only give 2 stars because at 11.35 when I came in and sat down, the waitress said in English "the first and the last one".... I don't think that's any respect for a new customer who comes from Luxembourg and it was my first time here and I specifically chose this Irish pub. It's open until 1am? Even better, I started drinking my Guinness and I had to pay straight away....😅 I never make a negative comment, but this time I don't like it. So I'm slowly enjoying my Guinness now ☺️ A Guinness has to be drunk without stress, no?
