A great Irish pub with two types of good Irish beer. Great atmosphere. Even though the bar is large, it's packed on Friday and Saturday nights.

Fish and chips – the fish was overfried, dry inside and hard on the outside. The fries weren't crispy and were too dry. The best thing about the meal was the vinegar.

I was here again with friends after a long time; it's still a great Irish pub with excellent service. Happy 2026!

We went to the pub after seeing the cinema. Taking our order took quite a while, but the service was very quick. Great atmosphere. It was very crowded during the pre-Christmas period, but definitely worth a visit.

An outrageous employee falsely accused us of not having paid for our meal. The food tasted bad; anyone could make better food at home. The only good thing was the beer.

Nice pub, but unfortunately terrible service. The dark-haired waitress treated us like hardened criminals because we supposedly hadn't paid for a meal. After she spread all the receipts out on the table in front of us and, after endless explanations and discussions, finally understood that she had made a mistake, she crumpled everything up and angrily threw the slips of paper in front of us. No apology for the error.

It's a bit jarring but the staff seems to HATE the customers. I was given looks and felt like I bothered them when I ordered. Otherwise, the place and atmosphere are perfect, making the whole experience incomprehensible to me.

Nice space, reasonable food, the WORST staff I've met in Germany. Lazy, unresponsive, almost contemptuous of their customers. Waited 10 minutes at a quiet bar before being served. Just horrible and ruined the place for me.

In essence, this is more than you'd dream of in an Irish pub. The ambiance (vaulted cellar) is lovely, and the bar is beautiful. Most of the staff are incredibly motivated and attentive, anticipating your every need. Despite being busy, drinks arrive quickly and reliably. However, it's frustrating that the owner is unaware of the monthly specials, which are even displayed near the entrance. Sorry, but I'm not about to spend €9.70 on a whiskey when the apparent owner can't even tell me where the stuff comes from. With his mustache, Prada chain, and black shirt, he stands out and leaves a bad taste in the mouths of experienced hospitality professionals. He doesn't even bother to tell you what song is currently playing, showing the bare minimum of respect. Naturally, he shows even less respect to his colleagues, constantly getting in their way. Otherwise, a great place, props to the team! :)

The service deserves special praise! They cater to every request and are very friendly.

Yesterday we were here again! The pub was packed and many tables were reserved! We were looking for a table for four and asked a very friendly server who offered us a small table as a temporary solution! When a larger table became available and we tried to sit down, another employee seated two people at it! When I told him that the table was actually meant for us, he said no, it was reserved! Which it wasn't! I immediately told him that this was unfriendly and poor service, which he confirmed with a cheeky grin! Unfortunately, a plate then fell off our table, which he brought up again when we paid with a snarky "Thanks for the broken plate!" Such staff is an outrage for guests and other employees! In my establishment, he would have been fired! It's a shame, but we'll be looking for a different pub in the future!

I've been here several times before and usually enjoy coming here whenever I'm in town. This time, however, I was really disappointed. The staff seemed incredibly stressed and barely paid any attention to the guests. It's perfectly fine to have to wait a few minutes – but at least a quick glance or a sign that I was being acknowledged would have been nice. When I finally ordered my whisky, the bottle was almost empty. They poured me the last bit, and I had the impression that the glass was significantly less full than usual. Later, I saw a new bottle being opened at the bar – I would have preferred to wait another minute and get the full drink I paid for. Overall, it's a shame, because I usually like the atmosphere. But after this visit, I probably won't be coming back.

Excellent place! The food doesn’t look particularly great, so it’s better to stick to some snacks, but what you really come here for are the great beers. The pub is beautiful and has a very traditional vibe, with nice decoration and a cozy atmosphere. The staff is quick and attentive, even though they forgot my order at first, they handled it very politely and brought what was missing right away. I recommend making a reservation because the place gets quite busy. I was lucky to find a table without one. Prices are fair, and I think this is definitely a place I’ll come back to.

An Irish pub in a truly fantastic vaulted cellar. The food, drinks, and service leave nothing to be desired. Especially on weekends, it can get packed to capacity in the evenings.

Unfortunately, some of the staff were quite unpleasant and unfriendly – ​​really disappointing.

Draught beer is awesome and food was great, although I just ate a salad. Prices are reasonable and the location is nice. I'll go next time as well.

On weekends, it's open from 2 p.m., and we love dining here and enjoying the Black Velvet (with Strongbow Cider). In summer, the beer garden by the Pegnitz River is a lovely place to sit, but the indoor area in the cellar vault is also atmospheric. If you're planning on visiting after 6 p.m., you should reserve a table. We also highly recommend the partner pub, Finnegan's Harp, which we also enjoy visiting.

The Irish stew is exactly perfect in every way. Lamb cooked perfectly, doesn’t need seasoning, veggies cooked perfectly, and the broth was exactly what it should be. The whiskey selection is about the best you’ll find in Germany, although I’m not super well traveled here.

Here you’ll also find the coldest and best-tasting Guinness in town — and, more recently, even Guinness 0.0% has been added to the menu. The vibe is friendly — staff often chat with guests in a casual, cheerful way, with jokes and small talk, so you quickly feel at home. Regular visitors are remembered, and relationships often grow into genuine friendships. During peak hours service can slow down and small mistakes happen, but the team usually keeps a smile and a warm attitude, which balances out the delays. It’s also worth noting that this is one of the few places where drinks are served almost instantly in most cases — you rarely wait long at the bar, and even at the tables drinks are usually brought out fairly quickly. This stood out especially on St. Patrick’s Day: the pub was packed, the atmosphere loud and chaotic, yet a few waitresses still managed the tables professionally, while the bartenders worked fast and efficiently, taking orders and serving drinks without delay. All in all, it’s a great place for a fun evening with friends or to soak up the festive energy of an Irish pub — just keep in mind that on peak days, a bit of patience may be required.

We sat down for a bit and had a drink after a stroll through the city. When I visited, there were plenty of tables and chairs available, but the seating was a bit cramped. I also had a wooden chair that had a "wooden butt" left over. Cushions would be a nice addition.

I had a great time with my colleagues. Ordered Chicken Tandoori but it was nothing like the original chicken tandoori. It was just white rice with not-so-well-cooked chicken with some gravy. Over all it was ok.

I was last here about 20 years ago, and nothing has changed. The food is wonderful, especially the mushrooms. The beer is freshly tapped and tasty. The only thing I could possibly criticize is that the staff could be a bit fussy. But after all these years, I have absolutely no regrets about eating and drinking here again. 😍😍😍

Since people from the Eastern European war zone began working in your service department, the service has become unacceptable. I have often observed, most recently recorded in detail on July 20, 2025, between approximately 6 p.m. and approximately 9:30 p.m., how your aforementioned employees repeatedly lingered at the tables of their fellow countrymen for long periods of time during their working hours, consuming drinks, smoking, laughing, and talking with their fellow countrymen during their working hours, thereby neglecting their work and ignoring other guests. Furthermore, your employees are very loud in their private conversations with each other in their native language. They look directly at you and ignore you, continuing to talk loudly among themselves, laughing, and preferentially serving the tables of their fellow countrymen. Your employees also take an above-average amount of time to check out waiting guests. Your current team is alienating your regulars with their extremely negative behavior! Is this still an Irish pub or an Eastern European bistro?

A classic Irish pub with a beer garden on the Pegnitz River. The menu features many Irish classics, such as Shepherd's Pie and Irish Stew, which are well worth trying. The pub itself has a beautiful vaulted cellar and is decorated very realistically like a typical Irish pub. The staff is relaxed, uncomplicated, and friendly, and prices are reasonable for all budgets. The beer garden on the Pegnitz River is a must-have, especially in summer. If you like coziness with an Irish flair, this is the place for you.

Came at a busy night but the bartenders were great and the crowd is super nice. Had a few strangers make small talk with me. I came in right before midnight and luckily they asked the kitchen if I could have wings still so that's a win in my book.

Beautiful location on the Pegnitz River, but the service was extremely unfriendly. Everything was available, no reservations were made, but we were forced to sit in the sun and weren't allowed to put tables together.

Irish Pub with great atmosphere and a super Irish Session every Monday from 7.30pm except the first Monday of the month

First we waited over 30 minutes for our order to be taken, then another 45 minutes for the drinks and finally an hour to pay.

Very good food, but unfortunately, we were "kicked out" after two hours because the table was reserved for the next guests. Unfortunately, they didn't inform us when making the reservation that we only had one time slot... What a shame...

Pleasant beer garden with a view of the old town and the Pegnitz. In addition to German beer, there is also the well-known Guinness and a red ale. The Irish stew and the fish'n chips can compete very well with the dishes in Ireland. In addition to ketchup and mayonnaise, you can also get the Malt Vinegar, which is typical for Ireland/GB, for the chips. The beer garden and the restaurant are definitely recommended.

The bathroom is kind of a pain if you sit outside. Expect a 5 to 10 min wait for your drinks outside. The location is their Achilles heel, sit on the river and shut up. Their outside service only works bc of the location.

Cozy, good whiskey, good food. Service top. But the staff's taste in music has changed dramatically. Way too hard and too loud.

It is a nice place to have an Irish beer. The place has a nice atmosphere but also very friendly staff. One of the suggestions will be to provide WiFi as the place is underground the reception is a little bit difficult. I tried the nachos and were very good, perhaps a little bit more of salsa would be better, but it is ok! Ohh they also have a beer garden on the corner where you can sit next to the river! That's a nice a one!!

We arrived at the pub and sat by the bar until a space opened at one of the barrel tables. Whilst we were sat there about to order our second round, the staff took a booking for the table and told us we’d have to leave in 20 mins. The waitress was very highly strung with us and had earlier pushed us out the way as she was rushing round the bar. She was very confrontational considering the staff had rudely booked out a table whilst we were sat on it.

First time in 2021, fantastic bar. In October 2024, terrible service from the manager. He closed the bar much earlier than the indicated time. Today at 11:35 pm, I walked in and said straight away that it would be the last order, that there were few customers. I left without ordering anything. I'm at Mulligan's and the bar is full, as was Kloster and Mata Harai, all nearby... Terrible, I won't be back...

A classic pub with Irish but also regional Bavarian beers, cider, etc. There are also typical pub dishes such as burgers, fish and chips or smaller snacks. The location is suitable for larger groups and the staff is extremely accommodating. Unfortunately, when it's busy, the pub is a bit noisy, making it difficult to have conversations, and the air can sometimes be a bit stuffy. All in all, this is a typical pub for a relaxed and unpretentious evening with good drinks and friends.

For many years this Irish pub has been a great place for an evening drink. It is particularly pleasant to sit in the beer garden by the river and the quick service guys provided us with a variety of very good beers. There's nothing to complain about, it's just beautiful there and the price is super fair. We'll definitely be back soon!
