Excellent kebab, and the bread is homemade behind the counter. Special mention to the Dorum, which was delicious and made to order. It's still a bit pricey for a German kebab (18 euros for the kebab, fries, and a drink).

I've been going to this kebab shop since I was a child because they always had the best lahmacun. I went there again today after a long time – unfortunately, the quality has declined significantly. You practically needed a magnifying glass to see the salad, and the taste wasn't what it used to be. The prices are therefore far too high. It's a real shame! In my opinion, the owners should stop by more often and keep an eye on what their employees are doing.

My first kebab in a year and straight away a 10/10!

I visited on the recommendation of the reviews and I have to say that it is an absolutely fabulous kebab. Definitely one of the best. I especially recommend their durum flatbread, which, compared to the competition, was literally pulled out of the oven, freshly baked and beautifully warm. Great! EDIT 2024: I recently visited with friends, as we tested 12 kebabs in the city over the weekend and we all agreed that this one is one of the best. Especially the taste of their lamb, which is absolutely exceptional! I can definitely recommend it and I will come back. EDIT 2025: This year I really felt it was weaker than before and the queue was the biggest.

Both the chicken and veal doner kebabs tasted really delicious. There was a decent portion of meat, but not so much that the meat was too prominent. The meat and salad were perfectly distributed, so I could enjoy the doner. The staff are very friendly and personable. In my opinion, you have very good taste in music. They play songs by Ashanti and Cassie, for example, which I really enjoyed. I highly recommend Oruç Kebap; I will definitely come back.

I went there with my wife to eat strawberries, Etzela, and I argued with the chef that the skin on the half chicken wasn't organic. Always those dregs, haida, damn it. Only because I'm fat, Etzella. There's a minister here. I want this oracle to be given, Etzella. I'll cut his cheeks so short that he'll never get up again. I'm not afraid, Etzella. A completely normal kebab. The bread is solid, the meat has a typical "old-school" kebab flavor. No special sauces. Very simple and solid. Nothing outstanding! You can do it, but I wouldn't go out of my way to get it. €9.50 has somehow become normal...

Delicious kebab, loads of meat... even a big guy like me can fill you up. I missed some tomato and something fresh like cucumber; most of the vegetables were white and red cabbage. The bread is different than at most other kebab shops: much softer and buttery. But overall, a good kebab sandwich.

The shop is great; you can sit outside or inside. Prices are reasonable, but you also get quality, especially the XL doner, which is just half a flatbread (homemade). Nevertheless, it's a simple, straightforward doner, so you have to like it. For me, it's perfectly fine and definitely worth a visit.

So, I was here yesterday, too, after just happening to be living in Cologne for a few days and having seen the kebab shop on YouTube. First things first: the kebab tasted good! At first glance, I was really disappointed that it was just a skewer of minced meat. But the kebab was still quite tasty, a 9 out of 10 for taste. I didn't think the portion was huge, but it was okay for a regular kebab (who gets full from a simple kebab these days? It was different 10 years ago). I thought the price was really steep. €9.50 for a minced meat kebab, without extras. Cheese, etc., was €1.50. Of course, general inflation, electricity costs, and even wage inflation (minimum wage) don't go unnoticed by kebab shops or hair salons. But a doner kebab is essentially a "cheap" quick snack on the go that you can afford without it hurting. A doner kebab isn't a delicacy and doesn't require a chef. That's why I only gave the food 4 stars, because the price is simply outrageous. If I go out for a doner kebab with a Coke, I can't end up spending almost €20. I might as well go to a restaurant, which makes the whole concept of a fast-food doner kebab shop absurd. Service is nonexistent, and seating is also negligible. Overall, a tasty but expensive doner kebab. They also have a giant doner kebab for €15, which I might try one of these days.

Baba Döner!! The order was really quick, the kebab was incredibly delicious (what a soft bread!!!), so much meat, and the staff were friendly. I can only recommend it!

A toast: If a shop with so much competition in the immediate vicinity (I think there were about 30-40 competitors within a 200-250 meter radius) is still there after almost 40 years, there must be a reason for it, right? Unfortunately, it can sometimes happen that you can't get your desired dish because it's sold out, but if you want freshness, you have to expect and deal with it! Since the late 80s, it's been my benchmark kebab shop, by which others are measured. Enjoy your meal!

Oruç Kebap is one of the most famous kebab shops in Cologne. The homemade bread is the absolute star: crispy, fresh from the oven, and makes the kebab truly special. I found the kebab to be mostly well-seasoned and freshly served, though it seemed a bit dry and rather unseasoned in places. I could barely taste the sauce. Honestly, it feels more like a Turkish kebab than the classic German kebab you'd expect. For me, it's definitely not the best kebab in Cologne. I also find the price of €9.50 quite high for a kebab in North Rhine-Westphalia.

I paid €9.90 for a döner kebab with a skewer of minced meat and encountered cartilage three times. Plus, it didn't really taste good. Never again

First of all, there are 3 employees, one of whom is working and asks three times what you have ordered because you forgot to mention it. We waited almost 25 minutes for two doner kebabs and in the end we were told that the bread was sold out. Then we got bread that tasted like it was from yesterday, which is a disgrace and really weak for the price.

I love this kebab shop! The kebab is fresh and homemade. Top-notch quality! A real treat every time. The XL kebab is also highly recommended. Unlike other kebab shops, it not only has eight more pieces of meat, but is served with half a flatbread and a generous amount of ingredients. Perfect for those with a real appetite.

The food at the restaurant is delicious but I think whoever takes the online orders is constantly sending missing items. I tried to order food 4 times and it was missing every time. When I gave feedback, the courier is blamed for that. I didn't even bother calling. I returned 3 times and one soup was missing. It wasn't put in the bag and this is always the case. The restaurant will lose more customers because of this employee. People don't collect their money from the trash. It's sad for such a delicious place. Normally, I wouldn't order from a place that isn't clean, but this is a bit different. We won't be ordering from someone who doesn't care about their job anymore. I hope some precautions are taken with our friends.

We came to Oruc Kebap because of its reputation as the "best kebab," but were disappointed. For €9.50, we got a very small portion of meat (well under 100g), but a lot of bread, which, while obviously homemade, seemed too doughy and lacked flavor. The salad wasn't particularly crisp, and the sauces were bland and lacked depth. Overall, the impression is that they're just catching on to the hype, but the quality isn't living up to it. The price-performance ratio isn't right for me.

This was my first kebab for €9.50. Therefore, my expectations were correspondingly high, but unfortunately, they were far from met. Any kebab for €6 or €7 tastes just as good. At other kebab shops, an ayran costs €1, here it costs €2. A can of Coke costs €2.50. In my opinion, this place is simply overhyped. Even the kebab from Mangal (Podolski) was much better in terms of taste and portion size. I definitely won't be coming back. You can save yourself the trouble.

Living in Cologne, I've heard a lot about Oruç. But my expectations were still exceeded. The staff are so sweet and friendly, and the kebab itself is an 11/10. The ingredients are all fresh, and even the bread is freshly prepared(!). I highly recommend it.

Everything tastes just right, but it's nothing special. €11 for a Dürüm is a complete joke. The snack-like character is completely lost; instead, the customer is milked because some food influencers have discovered the place and need to hype it up.

Never again! The meat was poor quality, had little flavor, and the whole kebab was almost cold. You had to search for the sauce with a magnifying glass, and the prices were outrageous. If I had read the reviews here beforehand, I wouldn't have gone there in the first place. I let TikTok tempt me into eating a kebab there. Everything they tout as delicious and top-notch is a lie, but see for yourself. A small addendum: everyone who ate there complained of stomach pains. My daughter ate only fries and got diarrhea. No wonder I saw the employee throw the fries from the bowl into the fryer by hand... really abnormal.

On the drive home from Belgium, we visited this place late at night. Shortly before midnight, it was still very busy. I was hoping for a 100% sliced meat doner kebab, but was disappointed. The meat, however, is juicy and delicious. The homemade bread is a real hit. Prices are reasonable. The staff is friendly. Parking is a bit hard to come by. The decor could be a bit more modern. All in all, it's quite okay.

Best kebab in Cologne, no objection

Best kebab in Cologne or not, €9.50 for a kebab is simply too expensive. It definitely puts me off coming here more often. And a year ago, it was about €7.50.

There's nothing wrong with the food, but the service is unfortunately no longer as professional and hygienic as it used to be. Unfortunately, that was often the case, but I still enjoy eating there.

I had to drive to Cologne/Bonn Airport today, so I drove there especially for it, but it was a complete disappointment. The bread was okay, but most people ordered dürüm. I didn't taste any sauces, but the meat from the homemade skewer was so dry that it made my throat itch, and I had to get something to drink. I couldn't finish the kebab, and the €9.50 plus a drink was a total of €12.

Wow! This is a hidden gem in a narrow alley in the west of Cologne: the shop is clean and refreshing. The owner is friendly. I recommend the grilled veal with vegetables served on a plate, with toasted crackers and two refreshing dips (yogurt and chili), which are super delicious! The crackers break when touched, and sprinkled with minced meat, it takes you back to a small breakfast shop in China. The grilled meat is real meat with distinct fat and lean parts, and it is juicy and charred. The small grilled meat platter is 11 euros, and the crackers are 3 euros. I recommend ordering a medium-sized platter for two people, as two small ones are too much to finish. The red vegetables mixed with millet are also very refreshing and delicious, suitable for summer (I asked the boss to add extra to the platter). If you want the same one, show the boss the picture 👍

Döner is OK and just standard... The meat quality has declined over the years. ... The meat is cut thicker than before... The bread used to be better, and the price is crazy: €9.50 without feta, €11 with feta... It tastes good, but there are so many additives in the meat that you smell like a sick monkey on the toilet the next day, and the sweat is even worse... Experience on a Saturday evening around 10 p.m. (June 28th) On the recommendation of a colleague who was very impressed with the quality, I headed out from the Altstadt Nord (Old Town North). It was quite busy (about 10 people were already waiting). However, the wait time was really great. After about 10 minutes, I had my kebab. €9.50 is a bit of a pricey statement, because for that price, in my opinion, the kebab should be far above the quality of an average kebab shop. And I have to say, unfortunately, that I was rather disappointed overall. The bread was okay, the meat a bit greasy, the taste definitely not bad, but in my opinion, it didn't match the price. Therefore, I probably won't be coming back again.
