The doner kebab was definitely one of the best I've ever tasted. The meat was perfect! The only thing that could be improved is maybe a bit more spice in the sauces. Otherwise, it's amazing, and the people who run the place are also super friendly!

Baba Döner!! The order was really quick, the kebab was incredibly delicious (what a soft bread!!!), so much meat, and the staff were friendly. I can only recommend it!

A toast: If a shop with so much competition in the immediate vicinity (I think there were about 30-40 competitors within a 200-250 meter radius) is still there after almost 40 years, there must be a reason for it, right? Unfortunately, it can sometimes happen that you can't get your desired dish because it's sold out, but if you want freshness, you have to expect and deal with it! Since the late 80s, it's been my benchmark kebab shop, by which others are measured. Enjoy your meal!

Oruç Kebap is one of the most famous kebab shops in Cologne. The homemade bread is the absolute star: crispy, fresh from the oven, and makes the kebab truly special. I found the kebab to be mostly well-seasoned and freshly served, though it seemed a bit dry and rather unseasoned in places. I could barely taste the sauce. Honestly, it feels more like a Turkish kebab than the classic German kebab you'd expect. For me, it's definitely not the best kebab in Cologne. I also find the price of €9.50 quite high for a kebab in North Rhine-Westphalia.

I paid €9.90 for a döner kebab with a skewer of minced meat and encountered cartilage three times. Plus, it didn't really taste good. Never again

First of all, there are 3 employees, one of whom is working and asks three times what you have ordered because you forgot to mention it. We waited almost 25 minutes for two doner kebabs and in the end we were told that the bread was sold out. Then we got bread that tasted like it was from yesterday, which is a disgrace and really weak for the price.

For me, that's a huge rip-off. Never again. One street away, Istanbul Kebab €7.50, top-notch bottle of döner, clean, everything fits together.

I love this kebab shop! The kebab is fresh and homemade. Top-notch quality! A real treat every time. The XL kebab is also highly recommended. Unlike other kebab shops, it not only has eight more pieces of meat, but is served with half a flatbread and a generous amount of ingredients. Perfect for those with a real appetite.

The food at the restaurant is delicious but I think whoever takes the online orders is constantly sending missing items. I tried to order food 4 times and it was missing every time. When I gave feedback, the courier is blamed for that. I didn't even bother calling. I returned 3 times and one soup was missing. It wasn't put in the bag and this is always the case. The restaurant will lose more customers because of this employee. People don't collect their money from the trash. It's sad for such a delicious place. Normally, I wouldn't order from a place that isn't clean, but this is a bit different. We won't be ordering from someone who doesn't care about their job anymore. I hope some precautions are taken with our friends.

We came to Oruc Kebap because of its reputation as the "best kebab," but were disappointed. This was my first kebab for €9.50. Therefore, my expectations were correspondingly high, but unfortunately, they were far from met. Any kebab for €6 or €7 tastes just as good. I've had a regular kebab, but unfortunately, my kebab had more salad than meat. I wouldn't have expected that for €9.50. Prices are generally high. At other kebab shops, an ayran costs €1, here it costs €2. A can of Coke costs €2.50. In my opinion, this place is simply overhyped. Even the kebab from Mangal (Podolski) was much better in terms of taste and portion size. I definitely won't be coming back. You can save yourself the trouble.

Living in Cologne, I've heard a lot about Oruç. But my expectations were still exceeded. The staff are so sweet and friendly, and the kebab itself is an 11/10. The ingredients are all fresh, and even the bread is freshly prepared(!). I highly recommend it.

Everything tastes just right, but it's nothing special. €11 for a Dürüm is a complete joke. The snack-like character is completely lost; instead, the customer is milked because some food influencers have discovered the place and need to hype it up.

Never again! The meat was poor quality, had little flavor, and the whole kebab was almost cold. You had to search for the sauce with a magnifying glass, and the prices were outrageous. If I had read the reviews here beforehand, I wouldn't have gone there in the first place. I let TikTok tempt me into eating a kebab there. Everything they tout as delicious and top-notch is a lie, but see for yourself. A small addendum: everyone who ate there complained of stomach pains. My daughter ate only fries and got diarrhea. No wonder I saw the employee throw the fries from the bowl into the fryer by hand... really abnormal.

I think this shop has the best kebabs in the area. The kebabs are fresh and of very high quality. They use only fresh ingredients. We are regular customers and will continue to be. There are very few that stay the same.

The people at Oruc Kebab don't like criticism at all. I once complained that delivery instructions weren't followed. Since then, they've stopped accepting my orders. I tested the whole thing, and they confirmed it. You're welcome to keep your kebab. Kindergarten 😅 😂 🤣

I ordered through Wolt yesterday shortly before closing time. The kebab was completely microwaved – the package was extremely hot, and the bread was completely soggy. Why would they even deliver something like that? If there's nothing fresh left, please decline the order.

On the drive home from Belgium, we visited this place late at night. Shortly before midnight, it was still very busy. I was hoping for a 100% sliced meat doner kebab, but was disappointed. The meat, however, is juicy and delicious. The homemade bread is a real hit. Prices are reasonable. The staff is friendly. Parking is a bit hard to come by. The decor could be a bit more modern. All in all, it's quite okay.

Gloves are a foreign concept, I get messed up with my bare hands everywhere, whether it's refilling vegetables or preparing the food!!! The Turkish pizza lahmacun was a CATASTROPHE! Doesn't smell like lahmacun and doesn't taste like lahmacun. Inedible, the oversalting at least distracted from the bad taste. The kebab isn't worth €9.50 either. Best kebab in Cologne or not, €9.50 for a kebab is simply too expensive. It definitely puts me off coming here more often. And a year ago, it was about €7.50.

I'm now over forty and have been eating kebabs for over thirty years, and today I couldn't understand the hype. I didn't claim it was the best kebab in Cologne, but this was the worst kebab I've ever eaten in my life. I had to drive to Cologne/Bonn Airport today, so I drove there especially for it, but it was a complete disappointment. The bread was okay, but most people ordered dürüm. I didn't taste any sauces, but the meat from the homemade skewer was so dry that it made my throat itch, and I had to get something to drink. I couldn't finish the kebab, and the €9.50 plus a drink was a total of €12.

Döner is OK and just standard... The meat quality has declined over the years. ... The meat is cut thicker than before... The bread used to be better, and the price is crazy: €9.50 without feta, €11 with feta... Wow! This is a hidden gem in a narrow alley in the west of Cologne: the shop is clean and refreshing. The owner is friendly. I recommend the grilled veal with vegetables served on a plate, with toasted crackers and two refreshing dips (yogurt and chili), which are super delicious! The crackers break when touched, and sprinkled with minced meat, it takes you back to a small breakfast shop in China. The grilled meat is real meat with distinct fat and lean parts, and it is juicy and charred. The small grilled meat platter is 11 euros, and the crackers are 3 euros. I recommend ordering a medium-sized platter for two people, as two small ones are too much to finish. The red vegetables mixed with millet are also very refreshing and delicious, suitable for summer (I asked the boss to add extra to the platter). If you want the same one, show the boss the picture 👍

It was quite busy (about 10 people were already waiting). However, the wait time was really great. After about 10 minutes, I had my kebab. €9.50 is a bit of a pricey statement, because for that price, in my opinion, the kebab should be far above the quality of an average kebab shop. And I have to say, unfortunately, that I was rather disappointed overall. The bread was okay, the meat a bit greasy, the taste definitely not bad, but in my opinion, it didn't match the price. Therefore, I probably won't be coming back again.

I don't think the meat is "HALAL." I was waiting for my order, and then an employee helped himself to a chilled bottle of Corona Extra from the cooler under the salad bar. A lack of sensitivity towards Islamic basics. It made me feel uncomfortable. It doesn't say anywhere that it's HALAL, and there was no certificate or anything similar. It's a shame, otherwise I think this would be the best kebab in Cologne.

If you prefer the plastic kebabs from Haus des Döners or Mangal – go ahead. But please don't complain about prices when you're talking about real food.

Away from Keupstrasse and Weidengasse, this is probably the best kebab in Cologne. The lahmacun, fresh from the oven, is outstanding.

Taking an order ends in chaos. First, one person asks what you want, then suddenly another asks what you want. So far, so good. Hygiene is also a problem. The person who prepares the doner kebab also takes the money. €3.90 for a drink in a glass bottle is absolutely extortionate. Sure, it's a family business and has been around for 30 years. But they take full advantage of their reputation with their pricing instead of offering fair prices.

I ate my first kebab yesterday, and I have to honestly say I've never had such a bad kebab. It was so dry and tasted absolutely terrible, and a kebab costs 9.50. I think that's very expensive for a kebab. It also cost 9.50, and the kebab wasn't like the ones we're used to. It was a small kebab, so I didn't even get full. I still don't know why people have to wait in line. Oh well.

Yesterday was my first visit to this kebab shop – unfortunately, also my last. I ordered a kebab plate, but what I got was truly disappointing. The meat was extremely dry, thickly sliced, and partially burnt. It was clearly visible that the rotisserie was very small – many pieces were hard and difficult to chew. The rice was taken from a dirty-looking plate right in front of me and heated in the microwave. I honestly don't even want to imagine how long this rice had been sitting on the counter. The taste was absolutely disappointing: cold, bland, and simply unloving. The so-called "hot sauce" only tasted like tomato sauce – no heat or spice at all. For me, this was definitely not a kebab experience. Sorry, guys. That wasn't a kebab.

The payment also went through but due to the behavior of the employees, my last visit to Oruc Kebap was simply sad how they treat guests there who can prove that you are paying. The kebab tastes quite good. What I found rude was the old man who works there. The situation was that we ate our food there and he cleared and cleaned the empty tables. It was ok too. Then he came to me and ordered me: "Yes, eat faster" and in such a rude tone. I didn't think anything of it and continued eating my kebab and at the end when I was finished with my food he said hade in Turkish. I thought it was even worse. According to the motto go faster. As if we were being thrown out. You don't treat a customer like that (I think the customer is king). If the kebab is that good I wouldn't go there again go. Too bad.

Incredibly good, solid top 3 kebab in Cologne! Here you can still feel and taste the OG kebab! I could eat it morning, lunch and evening without complaining. Home-baked bread, crisp salad, rich sauces and incredibly delicious homemade meat round off the kebab dream! I can recommend it to everyone without hesitation! 9.7 out of 10 points!

The shop has a very tasty kebab. The meat is simply bomb and tastes very good. What I missed with the kebab was the sauce. It was there, but overall it couldn't assert itself. Even though the meat is very good, it became boring after a while. The salad was fresh. The seating is a bit too narrow, but still OK. The ambience is nothing extraordinary, but does its job. The employees are very warm people and very nice. I can really only recommend it.

I tried the most hyped kebab from Cologne. Based on the recommendation of some influencers, I have to say it was one of the worst I've eaten so far. I don't know whether people are paid for it or whether tastes really differ that much. The meat has no taste, rubbery with lots of gristle, the sauce also has no taste, you can only taste a little yogurt diluted with water. I had the XL bread. It wasn't warm or in the toaster and we also had a normal one, which was also very dry and for the price I think it's definitely too much and of course we didn't forget the queue in front of the door, a no, go and a richer experience for us!

We were there yesterday (04/17/25). I've probably tried €50 different kebabs This one was the best for us. Even my daughter said it is the best kebab in the world. The meat was great and the bread was homemade. The best thing was the bread. The freshness was a taste explosion. The lemon gave the kebab a kick. Thumbs up. We'll be back.
