You can customize your meal and have it cooked to order. Then the food is brought to you by a robot. We experienced this for the first time and it was a lovely experience. You can also get ready-made treats that you take directly to your table. Soft drinks are unlimited. Beer and wine are not included in the price. The dessert selection leaves nothing to be desired: ice cream, fruit, a chocolate fountain, tiramisu (also available without alcohol), and much more.

The food at the buffet was cold and some of it was rock hard.

Very fresh, not greasy, simply delicious. It's also suitable for birthday parties or private gatherings.

The food...very tasty, even though it's a buffet. You can take as much as you like, but you always pay the same price...plus extra for alcoholic drinks, of course. The lady at reception...who you also paid at the end; she was very nice and asked if everything was enjoyable. However, she alone isn't responsible for service...it is a buffet, after all. That's why I'm only giving three stars for service. The ambiance is more functional than cozy...hence three stars as well. Nevertheless...great food! Highly recommended!!

Somewhat disappointing, the buffet was almost empty by 6:30 pm and didn't taste particularly good. Only soft drinks were available, not even juices or non-alcoholic beers. The price was okay, but still not worth it in my opinion.

The two stars are only a generous offer, and because I know there are children elsewhere who are starving. But at €23 for the buffet, you can expect something decent. I absolutely hate it when food is barely lukewarm. Not a single item in the entire selection was properly heated. Taste-wise, it was unfortunately the worst Asian food I've ever had, and I normally love Asian food. I can't quite understand the good average rating here. To top it all off, my sister and I got diarrhea less than two hours later. I can't say why, but I won't be eating there again. I've also never seen such apathetic service. Then, for à la carte, the food is brought by a robot. Even more impersonal. Maybe some people enjoy that, but I prefer a personal touch.

We ate there today with a group. When we asked if a particular dish was on the menu, we were simply told to look at the menu. This suggests that someone didn't know what was on the menu, let alone was interested in serving the customer. The buffet was replenished very slowly, and the staff, especially the owner, were extremely unfriendly. The restaurant itself was far too hot. And to top it all off, they tried to charge us an extra €5 at the end. We unfortunately won't be returning.

I'm totally disappointed. Seven years ago I gave it five stars. Now I'm giving it none! Cleanliness was nonexistent. The plates were dirty. The plastic glasses were partly broken and so cloudy that they looked dirty and old. The food was cold and tasteless. As they say, you eat with your eyes, and in this case, you lost your appetite just by looking at it. It's sad. I used to go there so often. The staff was just awful. What a shame about this place. The atmosphere was anything but cozy, as parts of the rooms were dark with no light, making you feel like the restaurant was about to close. It's a real shame, as I used to love going there. It definitely wasn't worth the money, and that was the last time! Unfortunately, I can no longer recommend it.

"We went to the Orient Gourmet on Lindenhorster Straße in Dortmund (all you can eat). Unfortunately, it was very disappointing: Some dishes were only available in small quantities, there was a hair in my meal, and the toilet didn't flush. Furthermore, the soft drinks aren't real Coke or Fanta, but syrup – tastes artificial. And the worst part: They even charged €3.50 for my one-year-old child! Very incomprehensible and not family-friendly. Unfortunately, it wasn't a good experience."

We were there last night, wanting a nice meal. The buffet was just a mess of leftovers, and what was left was cold. We mentioned it, and the manager actually told us that hot food was only available until 8:00 PM, and not after that. It's open until 10:00 PM. We paid a hefty price for that. To top it all off, we were throwing up all night, so the "food" was a waste of time. We'll choose a different restaurant in the future.

I've been there several times over the years. I've always been satisfied, and the price is excellent. However, on my last visit, I noticed that the chefs seem to have changed. I didn't enjoy it as much as I used to. I hope the old chefs come back, which is why I'm giving it this average rating.

Unfortunately we were there this evening after 8 p.m. and we were only told when paying that the food was no longer hot but we paid in full. It wasn't nice and we won't go there again. It's a shame.

I ate at Oriental Gourmet Dortmund, and it was truly disappointing. The buffet was almost always empty, and when something was refilled, it was already cold or tasteless. The service was barely attentive, and it felt like everything was made with a lack of care. I had a stomachache all night. Absolutely not recommended for the price—I certainly won't be back. These days, you can even delete bad reviews and buy decent ones!! It's a shame, really 😡

Large buffet selection, fresh food, and fair prices. The Mongolian grilled dishes are particularly delicious! It gets a bit noisy at peak times, and the buffet could be restocked more quickly, but overall, a recommendable restaurant with good value for money.

The food was great. But when you say it's your birthday on the phone and the woman didn't write it down (she said so herself), I didn't get it. Since if there are 6 people or more on your birthday, you don't have to pay for yourself, it's a complete rip-off! And whether you mention it again at the beginning or at the end, they're persistent and don't want to do it. Because the system isn't capable of it. The same applies to 11-year-old children who have to pay full adult price. I would understand if they were 14 and over. They wanted to give me a stupid voucher. I'm never going to eat there again.

A nice and large shop, but the food wasn't great. The food was lukewarm and the liver was half raw. The food I had was mostly frozen.

I've been visiting this restaurant for several years now and have been completely satisfied every time. The food is always fresh, authentic, and extremely tasty. The staff is friendly and attentive, and the interior is clean and inviting. Particularly noteworthy is the excellent value for money – hard to beat in Dortmund and the surrounding area. If you're looking for a hot meal, you've come to the wrong place. We're still sitting at the table, and our mood is at rock bottom. 90% of the food isn't even warm anymore... Drinks from a cheap pump, and not the original!

Very good restaurant, the food is always fresh and delicious. The only thing that wasn't quite right was the music later on. We found it distracting, as they played something like Ballermann hits. It would have been better if the music had been adapted to the setting.

Today, on September 15, 2025, two of us went out to eat. There was no fruit, no meat to fry, and the chocolate fountain was closed. There was only one stand where you could get food. The store was empty, with 10-15 people. Drinks from vending machines.

I went there for the first time today. There was a huge selection and you'll definitely get full. Unbeatable for the price. Another plus is that the soft drinks and water are free, meaning you can always get more. I'll definitely go again.

Food is ok...rarely shrimp...and if something is missing it takes a long time for them to bring it back...

The staff doesn't even stand up when you come in, or they can't help you because they don't speak German. The buffet was either empty or so frozen that you couldn't get anything like prawns. We got dessert and had the honey, which seemed very runny at first, but then we realized it was bad at the table... Super gross!!! I don't understand how this place can get 4.7 stars! It's ridiculous, really.

The food doesn't have a great selection. The staff are all lackluster, and the drinks are standard fare. Beer is an extra charge, not included in the price.

First time there, the food was okay, but I wouldn't go back. The food I brought myself to fry was unfortunately quite oily. The small selection of sauces wasn't really tasty either. The service is a bit rushed; plates are immediately taken from the table, even if you haven't quite finished your meal. The robot that brings you the fried food is entertaining for children, but I personally found it a bit annoying and don't understand the necessity behind it. I've seen better Chinese buffets. What a shame...

Overall everything is OK. I have been visiting the restaurant for a very long time. Today, surprisingly, the lady at the reception tells me: you're always stressed! So pay first! Of course I paid because part of our meeting was already inside. They would also have to pay before the meal, which we would never have to do beforehand. It was always smooth regarding payment in the restaurant. I actually can't explain it. Our neighbors were a German family and they didn't have to pay before eating. Food is empty, if you bring it up and ask for a refill you will be looked at stupidly and looked at stupidly. Sauces were all empty, instead of checking first to see if anything needed to be refilled. Small plastic glasses go back every time after a sip to refill drinks. The €25 would have made more sense in the casino opposite.

Highly recommended for a cost-effective way to enjoy Asian cuisine. Since you do quite a lot yourself (typical buffet), I can't say much about the service, nice little gimmick, a small robot takes over some of the service tasks. Price-performance ratio is reasonable.

Zero stars! The buffet was constantly empty! Very noisy due to certain guests and their children were running around as if it were a game world! The temporary worker worked with a hoddie with the hood on his head and this made a very bad impression! The food was horrible! The children touched the food from the buffet and threw it back in! And no employee said anything about it! NEVER AGAIN

Visited the restaurant on Tuesday afternoon. Price €16. The choice is small, but everyone will find something to their liking. Drinks included except alcohol. The service is excellent, the dishes are clean, the food is fresh. I recommend it. .

The buffet on a Sunday evening was good in terms of taste, as was the selection. It was varied and diverse. Unfortunately, the soft ice cream machine was broken and the dessert selection was also very early. The selection of soft drinks is quite limited. The cappuccino, as well as the latte macchiatto, tasted very good (extra cost).

The ambience isn't really my thing, but the all-inclusive buffet was constantly replenished and was delicious. The service was friendly, used and plates were cleared quickly.

I had lunch there with my husband today. The selection at the buffet is very small. You couldn't have anything grilled because the grill was closed. There was only 1 row where there was warm food in the front and back and the row in front and behind was the dessert. We were also very disappointed with the dessert, so little choice and only minimally appealing :( a shame :( Some of the warm food was completely fried and had little to no taste and some was even cold. The soft drinks were completely sweetened and sometimes tasted completely artificial :( The service was only concerned about money and not particularly friendly :( We therefore cannot recommend this restaurant :( it's a shame :((

Went here today to test it out. The service was friendly. I didn't find it particularly tasty here. It was just average. The selection was also pretty small. The food was always warm and refilled quickly. The price of 16 euros for the lunch buffet including soft drinks was OK. But everyone should decide for themselves, this is all my personal opinion.

Went there at 7pm on Christmas Day and there was almost nothing left. But they are open until 10 p.m. Some of the food was only lukewarm. Ambiance wasn't nice at all. Like a large warehouse where tables and chairs were placed. Not a bit of decoration that might have made it a little more comfortable. For me it was the first and the last time

Unfortunately the food was only lukewarm and there was a piece of plastic in two of the sushi. An apology was made for the plastic but they could have offered a small compensation for it. Unfortunately you cannot pay with visa. Positive: The used plates were always quickly cleared from the table and if something at the buffet was empty it was refilled straight away.

On December 25th, 2024 we visited the Oriental Gourmet in Dortmund. The photos on their Facebook page looked very good. So this time we wanted to eat there for Christmas. The first impression was quite good, but the buffet was quite small, it looked bigger in the photos. The sushi buffet is mini small. A seat at our table was still dirty, the clothespins were stuck and the sign was full of grease stains. The "cook" at the grill pushed the meat and fish from the guests' plates onto the grill without gloves. He basically fried my chicken to death. Despite the warning, nothing had changed. The food at the hot counter was only warm to the maximum. The fruit was a disaster. The ice cream scoops at the ice cream counter were in a container without water. So we were really disappointed with this restaurant. We've been to many Mongolian restaurants, but we can't recommend this place.

Every meal is completely cold despite the high number of visitors. Freshly fried things were completely over salted and burnt. The store has slowed down a lot, unfortunately no recommendation!!

I finally wanted to give a review, We've been eating there for years. The food is always hot and delicious too. The staff is friendly and the used dishes are cleared away immediately. BUT since there is this time limit, you are immediately told in your face that you can ONLY stay here for 2.5 hours (otherwise you have to pay) then you immediately don't feel like it anymore and would like to turn around and leave, because if so man already pays €30 per person, and that's €130 per family, and we go there with several families and then you pay €500 and you want to spend the time together and eat something and chat in peace, but You then constantly look at the clock because it has remained in the back of your mind because of these strange TIME LIMITS!!!

Update! Wow, really bad today! Nothing was warm, at most lukewarm, with good will. Offer very limited, dessert can't even be seen as a joke; Aldi frozen cake quartered and placed on a plate, a bag of cream puffs defrosted. The chocolate fountain was not only unappetizing, but even the bowls with (canned) fruit were empty, it couldn't get much worse. Among other things, the duck was completely dry, the sauces were tasteless, but the broccoli was at least almost raw :-( our companion said, "It looks like leftover food..." Waitress wasn't really friendly, in response to our complaint: no problem... for us it was... All in all a bad evening, the boss somehow didn't care, he still wanted full price for poor service. Since this store will never see us again anyway, he could put the voucher somewhere else... what a disappointment, unfortunately minus stars don't work, it would be deserved!

I don't really know how to express my impression here. We were there on Saturday at 5 p.m. for a buffet meal. Some of the food was cold in the warming container or dried out. At 6 p.m. there was no more fruit, only canned fruit. Children push the robot around and block it, and eat what has been prepared at each table. The restaurant is beautifully decorated, which is unfortunately ruined by the eating behavior of some people (leftover food is thrown on the floor). There is a small carpeted room where the children can go. (not recommended!) It's better to take a coloring book and pencils with you as your children will get more out of it. I paid a total of €38 for me and my daughter, which is totally fine for a buffet meal (if everything was there). I understand that there are sometimes bottlenecks. Unfortunately I can't give any recommendations for the store, the only positive thing was the employees, who are super nice and friendly.

A really nice and inexpensive restaurant. Even our children - who don't like going to restaurants - really like it here. Of course, the so-called “cat robot” helps. He brings the self-prepared dishes from the grill directly to the table and is just as friendly as the rest of the “staff”. This is of typical quality, the selection is good and every wish is fulfilled upon request. Since the drinks (soft drinks and water) are already included in the price and because there are multi-tiered prices for children, the overall price is absolutely right.

Good value for money. You also have to look at how much you pay. The selection at the buffet isn't very large but the items on offer were fresh and warm. The staff is friendly and helpful. We were in the middle of it. Month there and it wasn't overcrowded and full. I found this very pleasant. The tables were clean and the toilets were clean too. We will certainly come back when we are nearby.

There used to be more choice there, food was more cold than warm. I have to get back to my old strength before I can award more points🙈 now that I was there again today to give it a second chance. I recently visited this Chinese restaurant and to be honest I was a bit disappointed. The food was okay – nothing special, but not bad either. Typical middle class dishes that serve their purpose, but offer no culinary highlights. The ambience was also average - clean and functional, but lacking any particular charm or atmosphere. What really stunned me, however, was the look into the kitchen: the cook was standing there with a lit cigarette in his mouth! Hygiene and cleanliness are the be-all and end-all in a restaurant and this was truly unacceptable. It completely shattered my trust in the kitchen and handling the food. Something like this should absolutely not happen in a professional restaurant business. I sincerely hope that the restaurant takes this matter seriously and takes appropriate measures to prevent such incidents in the future. Unfortunately, after this experience I cannot recommend the restaurant.

At the entrance the money would be collected immediately. There were towels in the women's toilet and people would vomit on the floor, definitely never again.

Cheap Chinese Restaurant! Something for every taste. The restaurant should be renovated. The employees are very hard working and the robot is a nice gimmick! 🤖
