MemorieZ in Dortmund

We tested the lunch buffet here on Saturday with the children. So we can't say anything about live grilling. The food was mostly OK to good (sushi, shrimp, etc. But there were also a few dishes that we didn't like (e.g. mozzarella tomatoes). Overall, a good buffet standard. The selection is very good, with something for everyone, no matter what taste or age. For us as parents, the play area for the children is a real highlight because the children can go play after eating and we can continue eating in peace. The robot waiters for drinks are also a special feature for young and old. We will be happy to come back. Price reasonable for adults. Absolutely fair for children because they pay according to age.

In short: the best buffet restaurant in the area!

A typical Asian buffet restaurant with a grill station. The dishes are geared towards western tastes and are very similar to the selection of a package holiday. The drinks were relatively expensive. The taste of the two non-alcoholic cocktails did not justify the price. I wasn't able to discover any real highlights. A really great idea is the children's playground in the restaurant. Kudos for that. In retrospect, everything inside me says very simply: “It was OK.”

I can only recommend it!! Was there with family, we were all thrilled.

We have been to MemorieZ a few times. Unfortunately the buffet is no longer what it used to be, but the prices have risen 😕

The food tastes quite good. Unfortunately, in some dishes the additions outweigh the actual dish. The chocolate pudding is not recommended. The ambience is nicely designed, but when the house is full it's quite restless and loud. The reception was very nice, but the service and payment were more than unfriendly and disrespectful.

Super nice atmosphere and very friendly staff. The selection is amazing. You can't try everything. And best of all: the children love the playground. We'd love to come back

Things used to be better here, but unfortunately the quality of the food has declined. There is a lot on offer, but unfortunately everything was very bland and sometimes carelessly prepared. Now more focused on quantity. The service was top and super friendly. The ambience and the volume are somewhat reminiscent of a train station hall.

Went there for the first time today and it was really great. In terms of food, there's something for everyone. Staff was super friendly, we found the location to be GREAT. We'll definitely be back.

Highly recommended. Price performance at the buffet is absolutely fine. The food is sumptuous and the selection is also clear. Unfortunately, the seats are not always so well positioned... Especially when other guests and the serving robots (absolute highlight) drive/walk past you while you eat. I definitely think it's great and will eat there often.

We were once again out and about as restaurant testers with 3 girls. Everyone has to decide for themselves whether it's a treat for the palate or an annoyance to the palate, but our conclusion is more the latter. The motto here is: quantity rather than quality, although in this case the prices were a bit exaggerated! ( Price-performance) Even the drink robots couldn't tear anything out - used glasses on board were pretty disgusting! Ordering from a tray may be modern, but impersonal. We wouldn't eat there again! It's just not worth it 😝

Everything was very tasty. Service came often enough. Plates were cleared quickly enough. The food all looks fresh and the selection was also very generous. There is enough parking space in front of the door, which is also free.

Uncomfortable, mass-produced and the quality of the food is worse than in a university cafeteria or canteen. Everything was very uncomfortable and impersonal. Chicken was undercooked and 4.2 for a soft drink is really steep. All in all expensive and uncomfortable.

A really cool restaurant, next to Superfly in Dortmund Kley. There is actually almost everything a connoisseur's heart desires. A large selection of sushi specialties. Fish and steak to grill on site. Hygiene is top, chefs and staff wear face masks. Very child-friendly, with its own play/jumping area for the kids. Several toilets, many tables... Beautifully designed. What has decreased is the fruit supply. Little fresh fruit! Pineapple, for example, is often mushy. It's better to reserve a table on Saturday as it's way too full! Like everywhere else, the price has been raised!

Actually a very nice atmosphere, but every corner is used for seating, so some seats protrude into the dining area and are not quite as private or comfortable. The food is very tasty and varied. Of course Asian but also with Italian influences such as pizza or Italian pasta. The service was very good and friendly. We were full. The only small drawback was that it is really quite crowded here. Too full in our opinion. Nevertheless, it's worth it and we'll come back. Thanks.

The restaurant/all you can eat is really very good and nice. There are so many options to choose from, so you don't know where to start. The only downside is that you have to wait in line despite having a reservation.

The selection is very poor. Unfortunately many dishes were empty and were refilled very late. Ready-made cake from Coppenrath and Wiese was served in its original packaging. For a bill of 160€ for 4 people I don't think that's possible!!!! I wouldn't recommend it at all.

We liked going there, but if you make a reservation and they tell you that you have to wait 2 hours because it's overcrowded, then I don't know why you make a reservation and then they're rude about it

The waiter simply throws the receipt on your dirty plate. That doesn't work at all. Drinks not there after more than 30 minutes!

Not a nice atmosphere. Located in a large hall. Some food was cold. The waiter was very pushy and asked when paying if you wanted to round up. Were there for the second time now and it's no longer worth a visit.

So I didn't create any memories there. The koi are very cute, but not kept in a species-appropriate manner. They looked huge at first, but there wasn't actually that much of a selection and the quality was mediocre. The service robot was pretty cute, but that's not really the point.

The food and especially the selection are unbeatable for the price. Of course, in such All U Can Eat restaurants you have to expect a lot of other guests and the corresponding noise, that's quite clear. But the fact that some people walk around there wearing unnecessary, dirty jogging suits with holes in them should be stopped right at the entrance. It's also disgusting that while waiting for the fresh food on the grills, many people lean on the islands where other foods are standing. Several weeks before our visit to Memoriez, I made a reservation and added that I wanted to celebrate my birthday there. I asked for a table a little away from all the hustle and bustle or in one of these separate rooms. Unfortunately, this appears to have been completely ignored. Our assigned table was terrible so we asked for another table. This was okay but not somehow a bit off. Very unfortunate.

I don't recommend it. The employees are rude and disrespectful. They are not solution-oriented. I really wonder if the owners or managers even control the company...

Very suitable for families with children. Not recommended for a romantic date. Food isn't that special, I would have expected more.

We enjoyed it very much. However, the cooking system is not really good. You have to pick up your prepared food yourself or wait there and keep an eye on it. Because the foods are of course all similar. At least flags or something similar to mark the plates would be an advantage. Since the price is high in my opinion, the service needs to be greatly improved.

Even though I made reservations days in advance, when they saw my 8 month old baby, I was seated right at one of the worst and back tables. When I asked the waiter why that was, his words and attitude were as if he was saying, "Get out of here." When I complained to the boss, they also simply kicked us out of the restaurant. I have never experienced a restaurant in Germany that belittles its guests so much and throws them out. I really can't recommend it to anyone - unless you want to be insulted and thrown out.

Far too many tables on the small buffet! I stood there for about 30 minutes and waited for my food. During this time I was jostled and pushed several times because there was no space. Drinks that were ordered did not arrive at the table because they were supposed to be delivered by the robot and people took them away beforehand. So all in all we won't be going there again!

Once a month my wife and I come over for a great meal, the team really puts in a lot of effort!!! We are totally thrilled with Ms. Liu Waitress No. 3, a mega woman, nice, polite and always has a smile on her face! We are thrilled!

Due to the holiday, the service from both instances suffered a little at our table (waiting times/missing drinks) --> certainly different in quieter times :)

Food was quite good. A drink wasn't delivered (it happened), I mentioned it at the information desk where they said it would be coming soon... of course not. There was no toilet paper in the men's toilets in both cubicles, without it being pointed out. A friend of mine then asked at the information desk and they didn't help him and only gave him napkins

I was there with a total of 6 people on December 27th, 2024 in the evening. When we came in, we were there 5 minutes early but had to wait 15 minutes until we got to our reserved table. The restaurant was very busy and was relatively full even shortly before closing, which speaks either for a good restaurant or for the Christmas season. The food wasn't exceptional but still tasted good. I recommend trying it out first. From the selection you can imagine a regular Asian restaurant plus a bar, some Italian food and a slightly larger restaurant. The restaurant is highly recommended for people who can tolerate a certain level of noise and a full restaurant and who have children with them. Especially because there is a play area for children, which is also quite nice. For those who prefer something a little quieter and don't want to meet naughty children who misbehave and are loud, I would advise looking elsewhere. In terms of price, I have to say that it is on the limit but still doable. An experience is worth it but with us it remains unique.

A very large restaurant. Saturday at 5 p.m. it's incredibly crowded and loud. At the various buffet stations you sometimes have to wait several minutes. At the live cooking station, it sometimes takes significantly longer. There were six of us plus children and we rarely all sat at the table together. If you come with children and want to sit with a view of the play area, you should ask for tables 79-81 when making your reservation by phone. Food was ok and of good quality. Despite the high demand, supplies continued to be replenished. Staff was very friendly and the drinks were delivered to the place by robot.

Even though the store is really big, the atmosphere is inviting. The food was sometimes like that, sometimes like that. The Asian dishes were almost all a dream, whereas the Italian and Spanish dishes were all a failure. But all in all it was a nice evening. The highlight was the robot controls that... Bring drinks to the table.

One of the best restaurants where I want to go again and again. Top service, fresh, delicious food, professional chefs. It is very clean and cozy atmosphere with VIP rooms if you want to be private. Suitable for every occasion, whether it's a celebration, with family or work colleagues.

There were 6 of us there on New Year's Eve, buffet. High noise backdrop, well filled. At the beginning around 8 p.m. there are queues at the buffet counters. Little to no typical Asian offering, but various pizzas, pasta, potatoes, cauliflower and broccoli with hollandaise sauce. The range of sushi was for beginners, ready-made products like you would find in the supermarket. Asian dishes were manageable and didn't get any better with the heat lamp. Tough beef with hard onions, over-seasoned sweet and sour pork, lots of glutamate and sugar. We didn't try anything that was freshly prepared, the queue there never stopped. The fried selection consisted almost entirely of dough. The selection of desserts from cheap ice cream, tk cakes, wine gums etc to the chocolate fountain are familiar from other local ones. The fresh fruit was ok, although ice cold. There were at best fragments of the banana in the baked banana. The fact that children are allowed to serve themselves is not necessarily good for the cleanliness of the food. There were also more than enough adults who apparently visited a restaurant for the first time. Which you could also see in the toilets. Conclusion.... Price - performance in imbalance! The drinks robots are funny, but they don't pull it off. Christmas 2023 and New Year's Eve 2024/25 were enough to have experiences somewhere else at the next opportunity.

Food was average. Drinks prices are really excessive and the buffet prices are borderline for the quality of the food. When you go out to eat on a Saturday evening you get the impression of a food fight because there is so much going on. Toilet facilities in the area were too few and dirty.

Great modern ambience, a wide variety of Asian - neo-European cuisine. Live cooking prepared spectacularly. Long drinks and cocktails are also available non-alcoholic. (maybe a little too much ice in the drink) otherwise worth an experience. Children's entertainment in the in-house playground was a great gaming experience for our children. Visit on September 6th, 2019 | Last updated: December 16th, 2024 We were invited to a birthday party in the restaurant with a group of over 14 people and arrived around 7 p.m. Unfortunately, the evening was a disappointment: the food on display was not very inviting, many dishes remained empty for hours and were hardly refilled. Such circumstances significantly spoiled the mood. Based on our experience at the time, we unfortunately cannot recommend a visit after 7 p.m. I cannot judge how service and quality have developed since then - my rating is a snapshot. Note: This review has been updated because MemorieZ has tried to have it legally deleted for the second time. The first attempt was based on the claim that the statements violated the complainant's rights. I was asked to provide evidence of authenticity, which I did. The second attempt was made with the claim that the review was defamatory. Both attempts to delete it were reviewed by Google and rejected because my report is authentic. Our perception is also shared by the entire group: all 14 guests documented the evening with pictures and found it disappointing. If necessary, the other guests are welcome to confirm their experiences as well. The rating therefore does not reflect a purely subjective assessment, but a collective perception of the entire group. In addition to legal pressure, the company could have chosen the path of open communication. An insight or apology - for example in the form of a comment or an attempt at a solution - would have been an appropriate and appreciative alternative. Unfortunately, negative reviews were not commented on, nor were other efforts made to address the dissatisfaction. This indicates that the company apparently does not consider this approach to be useful. However, a dialogue with dissatisfied guests would have offered the opportunity to regain trust. My other reviews show that I enjoy sharing positive experiences. I only write negative reviews if I see them as a constructive suggestion for improvement. However, improvement does not mean suppressing criticism through legal attempts to delete them.

Food is nothing special, pizza seemed like frozen pizzas. Overall, not recommended, at least on the weekend as it's a bit chaotic. Because of the queues in front of the grill stations, it's difficult to get to the buffets because everything is full of people waiting.

Went here for the first time today to test it. The selection of food was really very good. However, the taste was just average, so nothing special. In terms of price, the buffet prices are a bit too high but the drinks prices are totally exorbitant. But everyone should decide for themselves, that was just my impression here. It's ok to try it out here, but you don't have to do it a second time.

We were there on Boxing Day in a group of 18 people. The organization was a little stupid because we would have liked to sit at one table together, but we were first offered 3 separate tables and then 2 separate tables next to each other. The food was really tasty and the children had fun in the playroom. However, it was unfortunately far too full that day, so you didn't have the opportunity to queue at the buffet because it was too full or everything was suddenly empty at times. I think it was because it was a holiday. We will definitely go there again if there is no public holiday.

The food was very good as always, but we were there on Christmas Eve and of course it was very good!!!! Full, that wasn't so nice for us, but otherwise it was great as always!! Recommended

It was our first time at MemorieZ. It was really great... Everything was pretty modern. You order drinks using the tablet... Then a friendly robot comes to the table with the drinks you ordered... simply wonderful. The food was great, everything was hot, fresh and delicious. The choice of food was simply overwhelming. So many different dishes... simply amazing. Another visit will definitely take place.

Food was super good. We were there when there were tons of Christmas parties there. So very well attended. The buffet was still always fresh and well stocked.

We were there on Boxing Day and the food was very tasty. I can only recommend it.

We were a larger group. Several of us, including myself, had food poisoning the next day. Never again, nothing more needs to be said.

Very good selection. You can also have the fresh meat grilled directly. Next door you can have fresh vegetables and fish/meat fried in the traditional way, like in almost every Chinese restaurant. The waiting time at the grill/roasting area is a little annoying. Otherwise everything is good. What I miss for the price, however, is the drinks flat rate. Is also available in other good stores. For some there is a small surcharge, but still within an acceptable range.

Eating the selection was really satisfactory everything fresh and well prepared. Ordered coffee, waited 50 minutes, only received it upon request. It could be better, but I would go there again. Price performance was great for the food, but if you are very thirsty you have to take a lot of money with you, too expensive for me.

Also Essen war sehr gut aber der Preis war utopisch . An Feiertagen kostet das Mittagsbuffet normalerweise 27,90 Euro an den Weihnachtsfeiertagen haben sie nochmal 5,00 Euro aufgeschlagen also 32,90 Euro ohne Getränke und dann noch verpflichtent das jede Person noch ein Getränk kauft.Das heisst wenn man 2 Getränke kauft ist man bei rund 40,00 Euro pro Person dabei. Dann beim bezahlen mit Karte wurdest du noch genötigt vom Personal aufzurunden. Das war dann noch das Highlight.

I was there for the third time today and I'm more and more disappointed each time. I won't go there anymore. I made a reservation for 3 people, 2 adults and our 2-year-old daughter, which I mentioned specifically when making the reservation. When we arrived we were given a table for two in the far corner. Behind us, tables and chairs were stacked on top of each other like in a storage room and what's more, the emergency exit was blocked by stacked chairs. Since we simply had to put another chair at the table for my daughter, the drinks robot could no longer get through and we had to move to the side every time. The passage to the toilets (and also to the emergency exits) was blocked by masses of children's shoes, so people with walkers or wheelchairs had it very difficult to get to the toilets and it was also annoying for me to step over my shoes. But no employee or parent felt responsible. Some of it was cold and had no taste at all, everything was just bland... whether it was noodles, rice, beef, chicken, sushi... really no taste at all. The staff was quite friendly and helpful and quick to answer certain questions about drinks. Drinks were good and served quickly at the table, but the prices were quite expensive. Some of the toilets were full of puke or shit, so you had to be lucky to find one that was reasonably clean. Soap dispenser was empty and a faucet didn't work at all. I was really surprised that the tablespoons didn't stick to the cups, they were extremely dirty. As I said, I'm extremely disappointed because I was really excited the first time. But I can no longer recommend it.

Huge buffet selection, there is something for everyone. Self service also for drinks using a pad. A robot brings the glasses to the table.
