Simply amazing—we'll be back! But at 30 degrees Celsius, air conditioning would be really great, so one point deducted for the ambiance. Otherwise, it's fantastic and there's absolutely nothing to complain about. The buffet is simply amazing, even without the specials. 🤩

There's something for every taste, with plenty of choice! Attentive staff, great atmosphere! This time we were there with an older child, who was also thrilled with the dessert selection ;) We'd love to come back!

We ate here in 32-degree heat, but it was more pleasant inside. The selection is very large, and we enjoyed trying everything. Some dishes are very salty. The staff is friendly and considerate.

We were there yesterday, June 21, 2025. My daughter made a reservation online. The positive thing about the reservation was that we could indicate whether anyone with a walker or wheelchair was coming. We've been there twice already and were curious to see if it would still be as good. Turn into the destination street and think a rocket has hit here. The entire area is cordoned off with construction fences and is full of rubble. There are garbage containers in the "eatalio" parking lot. No parking possible. The shopping center in front of the restaurant is apparently being renovated? But there are signs for alternative parking spaces on the construction fence. So, we'll go there first. For me, as a severely disabled person, the walk is too far. So I reported to the attendant and was told to go back to his colleague at the entrance to the previous parking lot. It is possible to park directly at the restaurant. However, the colleague had instructions not to allow anyone onto the premises. The parking space at the restaurant is just big enough for the employees. So I was advised to drive to the Rossmann parking lot at my own risk. A very arduous journey for me and my 83-year-old mother-in-law. As I was leaving after dinner, I noticed that surveillance cameras had been set up there. The management of "eatalio" seems completely incapable of finding a solution for people with disabilities. For example, reaching an agreement with Rossmann and renting the first five or six parking spaces as disabled parking spaces, or something similar. How can restaurant management be so incompetent? Dear local councilors, the construction site is expected to last another two years; please refrain from visiting the restaurant if you can't manage any further travel. The food has also deteriorated in taste. There is also no proper ventilation or air conditioning. Most drinks are only offered in 0.33-liter containers. Because of the heat in the restaurant, you naturally drink more. Out of sheer desperation, you end up ordering a 0.7-liter water. My conclusion is that you don't need a restaurant that's so inflexible. The only thing that's really still good is the dessert buffet. Perhaps management will take action and make some adjustments. Why does the restaurant have a website if it lacks the intelligence to update it? A notice about the construction site and the associated alternative parking spaces further away would be nice. Whether we'll come back again is anyone's guess.

The food was very, very tasty, the selection was very generous and the staff was super friendly and accommodating. We really enjoyed ourselves and would love to come back!

Today we tried this restaurant (Dortmund) A huge restaurant spread across several rooms + Staff and waiters very friendly + Huge selection at the buffet - The steaks were extremely tough and bland - Prawns were very tasteless - Very expensive (€36.99) per person for the buffet Conclusion: You have to try it once, but €37 is definitely way too expensive. Everyone should be able to find something they like at the buffet. Everyone has to judge for themselves, but we won't be returning!

Here, both men and women can see for themselves that Italians don't just make pizza and pasta, but can experience and taste the full range of Italian cuisine at the huge buffet! Plus, the friendly service is attentive but not at all intrusive! The interior of the restaurant is also perfect! And so, a large piece of Bella Italia comes to Dortmund... I say Mille Grazie for that and I'll be happy to come back.

From a large selection of delicious food to the friendly service, the stay was pleasant. I can only recommend the buffet! The only drawback was that the air conditioning didn't provide cool air for a long time. I/we will definitely be back!

Yes, I can, but today it's over 30 degrees Celsius. It's probably over 35 degrees Celsius in the restaurant. No air conditioning 😓😓 I felt a lot of pity for the staff. They were very quick and cheerful, even though they were sweating 😓 😰.

We were there today at 4:30 p.m. for the all-you-can-eat buffet. The antipasti counter was amazing: a wide selection and delicious. The pasta counter had just as much choice, but unfortunately, it was all run-of-the-mill. A lot of it was simple with cream sauce and a variety of meat and/or vegetables. The carabonara was inedible, like a bag. The pizzas were good, but nothing exceptional. The asparagus was very tasty. All in all, it's mass-produced food for crowds that want to be served. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

A very large selection of dishes, there's definitely something for everyone here. You won't be able to try everything; there are too many different dishes on offer - it's better to come back again. It does cost a bit more than a regular visit to an Italian restaurant, but the menu also offers significantly more. About the ambiance: it's a huge restaurant, so don't expect a private and intimate atmosphere. Tips: - It's better to arrive a little earlier and not necessarily on the hour or half hour (for example, quarter to or quarter past) - Smaller portions and try more variety. - Choose food you don't already know, as it's a wonderful place to discover new things. - It's best not to order too much bread and pizza, as you'll fill up too quickly. The same goes for the pasta from the Parmesan wheel. Super delicious, but it's easy to get the wrong amount! - Try the freshly cooked steak at the counter, although the quality isn't always the same. - The antipasti are excellent. - Take seasonal specials (e.g., asparagus in May) - Dessert wasn't exactly a hit; it was way too sweet for me personally. Maybe I was just unlucky. P.S.: I don't know if the restaurant is specifically suitable for vegans—there are probably other options. Vegetarians will definitely find something to their liking, though.

If I could, I'd rate it 0 stars. The pasta in the Parmesan shell is a disgrace, full of lumps and tons of pepper. The meat is way too tough, and the shrimp are swimming in oil. The dessert tasted sour. Once, never again 👎🏼

If a lot of people in a restaurant doesn't bother you, the food was good. You did have to wait a bit for drinks and sometimes look for a server. Food was quickly refilled when the plates ran out. If there was vegetables and meat on one plate, a completely new plate was placed. There was no skimping on the food.

Unfortunately, it's not my thing at all. The food is okay, but mediocre. The price is simply too high (around €90 for two people). I'd rather spend a nice evening with all the trimmings at a really good Italian restaurant. The atmosphere, however, is really bad. It's far too loud, crowded, warm, and stuffy. Add to that loud music and flickering lights. Combined with the crowds at the buffet, it's a complete sensory overload. I've had one visit once.

More show than substance. We went to the restaurant for Father's Day at 6:30 p.m., four people with reservations. We were able to order drinks, but after 30 minutes we asked where they were. The answer we received was: "Did I already tell you, there was a power outage? Nothing works." (We weren't told anything about it.) Emergency power was switched on, fluorescent lights were running and flickering, which didn't improve the atmosphere. The dishes at the buffet weren't visible because the appliances for them were off, so no light or heating/cooling of these dishes was possible... The food wasn't even warm anymore! There was light and therefore electricity during the show cooking, but the food here was warmer but not hot. The paella looked dry and unappetizing just by looking at it. When we listed the problems to the waiter, all he could say was that he was sorry but there was nothing he could do... When we paid, we brought up the problem again. He understood us and apparently went to management... When he came back, he said he could put the bottle of water on the house, but the manager was too stingy for any further discount. Our conclusion: almost €170 for 4 people... then such a result! You should be shut down... No refrigeration, cold food, and no customer service? Thanks, but no!

We were here for the first time yesterday and were thrilled! From the service to the buffet, everything was excellently organized. There was plenty on offer, with something for everyone, even children. The buffets were kept clean, and any missing items were quickly restocked. Parking spaces in front of Eatitalo were closed due to renovations, but there was parking nearby, and it was nice to walk a bit after eating. We'll definitely be back!!!

There were six of us. The food was excellent. A wide selection, beautifully presented. Nothing was missing, and everything was delicious and tasted wonderful. The staff was very friendly and humorous. The atmosphere suffered somewhat from the large number of guests. We would be happy to come back.

There was a huge selection of food, and everyone should be able to find something they liked. Everything I ate was delicious. The desserts were also amazing. Unfortunately, the upstairs area was very warm and stuffy. You were always happy about every breeze that blew through the rooms. But I think it's less of a problem downstairs.

We celebrated my girlfriend's birthday yesterday, and when we arrived, the parking lot in front of the restaurant was closed due to construction. This could have been communicated on the website. Other parking spaces were available, but they were a bit further away, which isn't really a problem. It's just annoying to arrive wet in the rain, like last night. As I said, better communication is needed. For dinner, the steak they offered wasn't good, some were very well cooked and dry, and some were cold and also very dry pizzas. One positive thing to mention is that we were initially given a table upstairs, but we were able to move it upon request. All in all, we definitely won't be coming back.

Today, May 23rd, 2025, I was at the buffet, mainly because of the asparagus on offer. Unfortunately, to my greatest disappointment, it was very woody and completely inedible. The person who spoke to me, "the boss", just said "not everyone can do it justice", but as far as I know, asparagus shouldn't be crunchy, regardless of the quality! But there was no discount on the price even though I only had three asparagus and two slices! So if you'd like wood as your "asparagus" then go ahead, otherwise keep your hands off it!

Beautiful location, a superbly varied buffet with plenty of choices, and above all, top-notch in terms of taste and quality! "Unfortunately," with the large selection of delicious dishes, from appetizers to main courses and desserts, you never know what to eat first. The service staff is always friendly, although sometimes it takes a while for the tables to be cleared – but this is certainly due to the size of the restaurant.

So we drove from Hamm to Essen and were hungry on the way. We remembered that we'd eaten there once and thought it was absolutely fantastic. I called on the way, and the boss, of all people, answered! I asked if the two of us could spontaneously stop by because we were just passing through and wanted to have dinner so we could get home full. The guy gave us a great welcome, and we were incredibly happy.

I was very pleasantly surprised. FOOD (from the buffet): Plenty of everything. Starter, main course, and dessert. Seafood, fish, pasta, mini burgers, or something for those with a sweet tooth, chocolate mousse, pudding, Kaiserschmarrn (recommended with vanilla sauce 🤤), and much more. SERVICE The young lady who served us was very nice (actually, everyone was), very helpful, and always up for a joke 😅. ATMOSPHERE It was pleasant, great lighting. Not too bright or too dark, just right. But they could have turned the heating down a bit, it was already quite warm. Bottom line: HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! The price for the buffet was reasonable, which, by the way, was €30 per person. For so much food, I would have paid €35 ​​☺️. You could also sit outside, but it wasn't so nice at the moment, as REAL is currently undergoing renovations. There is no parking in front of the restaurant; please follow the doorman's instructions.

In a stylish setting—a converted mining building—we enjoyed an excellent Italian buffet. The buffet is 30 meters long and leaves nothing to be desired. We were lucky enough to be able to enjoy our meal outside. The service was excellent, and there was ample parking. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

The dishes available were great apart from 1-2 little things. There was a lot of choice and everything seemed fresh and of good quality. The steaks from the “Special” were always cooked pretty dead. A small minus for that. The service itself was attentive and quite quick. They answered everything in a friendly manner. Not much to complain about. Ambiance was ok. We were sent upstairs to the second floor, which is quite annoying when you have to walk up and down to eat. The table and seating are also a bit old. The prices have increased quite a bit now. We will probably eat a la carte again.

Hello, I can briefly say that everything was great, the buffet was very tasty, the service was great. 😊😊

Unfortunately not as good as it was a few months ago... Pasta made from a parmesan wheel without any creamy sauce. Pasta was heated in the water next to it, the cook poured 2 ladles of the hot water into the parmesan loaf and pulled the pasta back and forth in the loaf a few times. And then on the plate... That was nothing at all. Add salt to other pasta in cream sauce for hot dishes and only lukewarm the peeled prawns from the pan. The prawns in their shells were very hard, meaning they were cooked too long. Since there was a lot more to choose from, I can still give it three stars. But the places we had were more than ugly. Directly on the taped floor-to-ceiling windows. On the one hand, it's very "unusual" and uncomfortable and then you could nicely cover the windows with curtains. This area should be rated with one star.

First of all: if you expect cozy fine dining, you might be disappointed here. This is a very well-attended, huge Italian buffet with fusion elements such as burgers and Kaiserschmarrn, which aims to appeal to every taste with its variety. This is how you find e.g. B. really very tasty carpaccio not far from some overcooked pasta varieties. Well-cooked shrimps are next to simple pizza slices, ready-made puree baked with Grana Padano next to, among other things, well-intentioned cheese spaetzle and caramelized carrots with greens to dumplings fried in sage butter. There was also plenty of fish and seafood, antipasti and salads. I was surprised that, despite the extra station with a wheel of cheese and spaghetti cooked al dente, there were simply no spoons anywhere. Also that bruschetta only consisted of tomatoes and onions - bread was nowhere to be seen at this part of the buffet, although it also consisted of dips and creams. Instead, you could find the bread at the pizzas / aioli / garlic oil and the LiveCooking around the corner. Overall, it was as I expected: very crowded and therefore noisy with lots of bored children who of course had other things to do ;-) , a lot of choice, but of course not everything can be on point - if only because it just sits there for so long and continues to cook. But a lot of it was also super tasty - especially the interactively put together bruschetta, the extraordinarily tasty carpaccio and the incredible lotus tiramisu :) (dishes that don't continue to cook and reach the customer the same way they left the kitchen, even after standing for a long time). I can only partially recommend the pasta at the buffet. It wasn't bad, but not so good that I would swap it for the other dishes (also mentioned here). Overall just quite soft. Anyone who goes to eat there with the knowledge and expectations will not be disappointed. So I don't rate this restaurant like the Italian restaurant next door, but rather like a large event restaurant. It was super hot in the store, so I had to ask myself whether that was part of the concept (if you're warm you might be able to sell more drinks and if you drink more, you'll eat less. Plus, you might be able to leave more quickly ;-)). The service was understandably a bit annoyed, but still professional and friendly. Food was constantly replaced/refilled and drinks were brought very quickly. What I really thought was great was that towards the end of the buffet time, all the service staff were allowed to help themselves at the buffet and even the cooks came out from behind the scenes and everyone communicated with each other in a friendly and cheerful manner while eating (even if they were standing up). Tips: It is very warm in the restaurant - it is better to wear light clothing. If you drink a lot, you can eat less ;-) The nearby parking lot at the restaurant could be a parking option (if necessary, do some quick shopping at the drugstore or something like that). Despite the comparatively high price, drinks are not included - check your finances beforehand :-) Children up to 12 years pay half price (which is still just under 20 euros plus drinks). All in all, it was a pretty acceptable experience. Especially for families who want and can afford it, as there will definitely be no complaining about the food here :-) Even people who value variety and quantity will not be disappointed here.

The food was as expected from a buffet restaurant, tasty but not outstanding. The service was nice, but each waiter had a lot of tables with a lot of customers, which meant there were waiting times or minor mistakes, but they were still super nice and everything could be sorted out. The atmosphere is very loud, crowded and especially cramped where we sat. Conversation with your own table is not always easy.

Air conditioning could be better in summer, with over 400 seats. This time there was no jello for dessert. Several flavors of ice cream would be great, e.g. Woodruff!

Caution! My wife and I were at eatalio today and actually wanted to convince ourselves of the positive things we had heard, but unfortunately exactly the opposite happened. First of all, we were surprised by the large selection. The “Homemade Frozen Lemonade” ended up being syrup with a lot of crushed ice. Far too sweet, the whole thing went away when we ordered a bottle of mineral water to make it all better. When it came to eating, we were relatively impressed with the starters (some of them), but the main courses still turned our stomachs in the waiting sense of the word. From meat covered in sauce to undetectable bitter taste of the meat. The mussel noodle in a questionable green sauce barely went down the throat and wanted to go back up. Please do me a favor and don't try the wraps! When it came to the desserts, it stopped completely for me when the "vanilla sauce" smelled like Hollandaise and bits of it stood out when I stirred it. And all this for €90 for two people? Never again!

It was our first time at eatalio and we really liked the food. The selection was huge and of good quality. Food that ran low was quickly refilled. The service was friendly and usually quite quick. This old industrial hall is actually a nice location, but the noise level is very high and you can't have a proper conversation.

Recommended for anyone who is undecided about what to eat. Pizza, pasta or a roast with red cabbage and potatoes. Lots of choice very tasty.

Huge, crazy restaurant with a crazy atmosphere. Plus a HUGE range of food, not just Italian cuisine. You really have to look for where the different stations are There are different dishes🙂 We had a really great young man who served us very attentively and in a very friendly manner. Unfortunately we don't have his name, but we sat at table 146‼️ What was missing, as is unfortunately too often the case in German restaurants: A play area for the children ☹️ Thank you for the lovely and interesting evening. I think everything fit perfectly!!!! To address the parking situation, it didn't bother us in the least that we couldn't park right in front of the door. A great solution has been found that is really not far from the restaurant, in our opinion it really couldn't be better 👍👍👍👍 Went there again today to eat and I'm giving it five stars again 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟

An incredible buffet restaurant. Approximately 37 euros plus drinks is really OK for the performance. The quality and taste is remarkable for this size of buffet. There's really almost nothing missing. The Spanish dishes offered an even broader range of tastes. Really great. Of course, such a large buffet only works in terms of size and natural turmoil in the restaurant. But it offers many niches so that it doesn't seem like a canteen. Show chefs and food design are inviting. It is constantly being reloaded so that the buffet does not appear worn out. However, the tables could be set or at least decorated upon arrival. Several signposted parking spaces nearby. Employees are very friendly and attentive. It was a successful evening.

Oh dear, the ambience, the dusty curtains were replaced with new ones. Service was quick, very attentive, not intrusive. Food was very varied, but the steak was thin and it was bloody. It was halfway through not bloody and toes of meat. My son got cold burgers 🍔. Plates were also cold. Therefore well justified at least 1 star deduction!!
