Today I visited Eatalio Dortmund for the first time with a group of ten people. The numerous positive reviews and recommendations piqued my interest in the restaurant. Our expectations, raised by the good reviews, were far exceeded. The buffet offers so many excellent dishes that it's impossible to try everything. The service staff are very attentive and extremely friendly; everything is just perfect. Thank you so much!

My visit to the restaurant was a mixed bag overall. The all-you-can-eat buffet didn't really impress me. The only truly good thing was the giant prawns, which definitely stood out. The spaghetti with cheese, however, was tasty and one of the more positive aspects of the buffet. Nevertheless, I found the selection rather average and not particularly varied. Another drawback: The room at the back had a somewhat unpleasant smell, which detracted from the ambiance. For an all-you-can-eat buffet, I found the visit far too expensive – the value for money simply wasn't there. Overall, it was okay, but I expected much more for the price.

Simply perfect! An evening with eight girlfriends. We were here last night with eight friends and we all agree: it was absolutely fantastic! The atmosphere is beautiful and lively, perfect for a cozy girls' night in. The food completely won us over. From the creamy burrata to the homemade pasta dishes, everything was divine. The service was also incredibly warm and attentive. We're all still buzzing about our Italian experience and will definitely be back. A truly wonderful evening, thank you so much!

Due to its size, it's a bit confusing and somewhat cramped in places. The food is very tasty, with a huge selection and something for everyone. A bit too expensive for my taste.

UPDATE below! We had a really lovely evening at eatalio today. I would highly recommend it, as everything was perfect. The staff were friendly and attentive, the atmosphere was pleasant despite the size and concept of the restaurant, the food was of a higher quality than I expected, and the value for money was excellent. Keep up the good work! An update from 2025: On two subsequent visits, it was noticeably louder, and the service was somewhat less attentive, resulting in delays in serving drinks and clearing tables. The tables weren't prepared as thoroughly for new guests as we would have liked. There are no seating areas or heated corners for smokers outside – this is another point of contention. We watched as guests slammed into the exit door like flies against a windshield because the doors open in opposite directions and there's no marking indicating which side they should open on. Unfortunately, the staff just watched with amusement instead of addressing the problem. You wouldn't notice that if you visited in the summer when the doors were open. Guys, please get back to the form you had when I wrote my first review!

The service was excellent. Always attentive and very friendly. The buffet was extensive and attractively presented. Unfortunately, the steaks were overcooked for our taste.

We went there again after a long time. Unfortunately, we were rather disappointed. It's more about quantity than quality. The pizzas were soggy and much too thick. Except for the steak, the meat was mediocre. A lot of it was overcooked. The large selection is nice, of course, but we actually left a lot of food because it didn't taste good. There was also a shortage of staff. We constantly had to go back to the server to get drinks.

The buffet was incredibly varied. It was delicious. The only thing missing was a chocolate fountain 😅🙈 A chocolate fountain would have been perfect with the delicious churros. A huge selection of hot and cold dishes... It was very tasty 🥰

Except for the pasta served from the cheese wheel, which didn't taste like cheese at all (probably because too many were served in quick succession), everything was very delicious and the service was truly attentive, friendly and courteous.

The employees were responsive and always went out of their way to ensure we had a pleasant experience. You can tell that they place great importance on good service. The food was simply outstanding! Every dish we ordered was freshly prepared and bursting with flavor. There was a wide selection of different dishes, all beautifully presented. Whether appetizers, main courses, or desserts – everything was a delight! Another plus is the cleanliness of the restaurant. It gives a thoroughly well-maintained impression, which is an important aspect for me when dining out. The diverse specials that are regularly available make a visit even more appealing. There are always new dishes and promotions that entice you to return. I can't wait to come back and try more of their delicious offerings! In conclusion, I can say: This restaurant is definitely worth recommending! It combines excellent service, great food, and a pleasant atmosphere. I'd gladly come back again and again!

There was plenty of food, but it was all quite bland and boring. The churros were also disappointing, being far too dry. The service was very good, but the rest wasn't worth the price, sorry. And the sofa or bench was much too soft.

We also really enjoyed the ambiance and the cleanliness. Even spills at the buffet were immediately cleaned up, and there was extra staff on hand for that. I've been to Eatalio Dortmund several times now. The ambiance and service are excellent. If you enjoy savory food (vegetables) on a Sunday evening, then everything was perfect, as always. However, it was unfortunately too salty for us, which is why I deducted a point. What was also very annoying was that the parking lot is currently a construction site, and we had to search for a parking space. Nevertheless, the restaurant is highly recommended.

Great atmosphere, fantastic buffet that leaves absolutely nothing to be desired. Very clean, and the food is replenished immediately. We received very friendly service, and drinks were served promptly. Highly recommended; we will definitely be back.

We ate there yesterday with a group of nine. The food was okay overall, but some of it was really oversalted. For the price, you definitely get quantity over quality, unfortunately. It's very loud and there's a very strong smell of fried food, which isn't usually a problem, but this was quite noticeable. I think the price is a bit steep. The menu is extensive, with something for everyone. In short, we won't be back. €47.50 for three drinks and the buffet (two waters, one Coke).

I can't understand how this place is always fully booked. The food is awful. The steak was dry, the pasta had a strange taste, and it was too soft and mushy. I really regret coming here!

We were a small group, a diverse mix in terms of dietary preferences (vegetarians, meat-eaters), and unfortunately, we were all very disappointed. Almost nothing was properly seasoned, and much of it was simply mushy. Perhaps the buffet should be reduced in size, and the food offered should be prepared well. It's such a shame about every animal that had to die for that tough and bland-tasting meat. The pizza and part of the dessert were good, but the price is far too high. The ambiance in the front of the restaurant is very appealing. However, the back is very run-down, partly broken, and dirty. There are exposed drainpipes on the wall, OSB boards on the floor, and it's not very clean. The only bright spot was the friendly service.

Simply amazing—we'll be back! But at 30 degrees Celsius, air conditioning would be really great, so one point deducted for the ambiance. Otherwise, it's fantastic and there's absolutely nothing to complain about. The buffet is simply amazing, even without the specials. 🤩

I have no idea where the good reviews come from. There are four of us, and none of us even remotely enjoyed our meal. Everything tastes the same, is cold and mushy, absolutely inedible! I've never eaten such bad "Italian" food. Anyone giving this place five stars has no idea what good food is. And the place is incredibly run-down. The curtains are covered in paint smeared from the painting, you're sitting under exposed pipes, dust and cobwebs—it's a factory farm, not a restaurant. Never again.

The prices are becoming disproportionately high. For that money, you could have a nice meal without having to fight with a hundred other people. Ordering drinks sometimes feels like an appointment at a government office, a refusal to cooperate with anyone.

A very pleasant atmosphere with a wide selection of sweet and savory dishes at the buffet. Many items are even prepared live! I especially recommend the freshly made pasta served in a cheese wheel! While it is quite expensive to eat there, the quality and quantity are reflected in the price. The staff are very friendly, and because there are several floors, the noise level isn't too high. Also recommended for special occasions or get-togethers with friends.

Great concept and delicious food. The ambiance is unique, as it's the former Prisma discotheque. We used to party there, and now we go to Dortmund for dinner. I especially enjoyed the grill buffet: grilled meat, fish, and shrimp. My only minor criticism: I don't like eating from cake plates. I would have appreciated a regular-sized plate. Otherwise, everything was great :-)

We are regular customers and must take this opportunity to especially commend the staff for their friendly and prompt service, even when things get hectic. We rave about the buffet for days afterwards.

Super delicious and high-quality food. The service was also first-class. The noise level wasn't as loud as in such large restaurants, like in a cafeteria, but rather pleasant. We would have preferred more Spanish dishes at the buffet, which "meets Spain," but everything was very good and delicious! Sometimes it took a while to refill.

Very disappointing! I had made a reservation because they were having a special steak day – the so-called Argentinian day. That's exactly why we chose this buffet. However, shortly before our visit, the date was simply postponed without us notifying them. I called and even emailed to inquire, but the staff showed no interest at all. No apology, no solution, nothing. Since we couldn't reschedule, we had to cancel the reservation entirely. Truly poor service – absolutely unprofessional and disappointing. I certainly won't be coming back and can't recommend this restaurant under any circumstances.

We were pleasantly surprised. At first, we were a bit confused as we followed a very friendly staff member who led us to our designated table. The route was long and involved a few corners. Along the way, we were able to catch our first glimpse of the buffet. Once we were seated, we had to let our first impressions sink in. We weren't disappointed with the food. Everything was simply delicious. It's true that you have to queue for the specials and expect a bit of a wait. This gives the last course time to sink in. Although soft drinks are included in the price (they have to be ordered), the waiter assigned to us was very attentive and checked with each course he passed to see if we wanted anything else. TOP 👍 We enjoyed it, we'll be back.

I was there yesterday (October 23, 2025) – the ad on social media shows thick steaks and lots of shrimp. In reality, you wait in line for almost 10 minutes, then get two small strips of meat and three shrimp on your plate. The "30-meter buffet" consists almost entirely of cold salads, no cheese, and only three types of warm pasta. If you want a real steak, go to MAREDO.

We ate there for the first time this evening. Unfortunately, we weren't entirely satisfied. It may have been due to the large number of guests, but we voiced our dissatisfaction, and the front of house waiter handled it very professionally. We had the impression that it was truly important to him that our guests had a pleasant evening. We were compensated for the inconvenience, but his response alone deserves a full 5 stars! We'll gladly try eating there again at another time. Thank you for saving our evening a little!

We've eaten here a few times. The selection is amazing, of course, really delicious, and there's something for everyone. Unfortunately, you can't eat as much as you'd like! :D I just have one small comment: the changing table mat in the accessible restroom could use a change; there are tons of stains on it... :-)

A superbly executed idea for an Italian all-you-can-eat concept. They have EVERYTHING. Huge food selection and very high quality. Live cooking. Authentic Italian ice cream would be the icing on the cake, but since you're so full from all the food... Again and again, a great idea, brilliantly executed.

A true feast for the palate for all ages. It'll make your stomach roll, and you won't be able to fit anything else in! The taste melts so deliciously on your tongue that I'll stand on the table and pole dance, boy!

A large selection of hot and cold dishes and desserts. The staff is very friendly. The menu is regularly filled. Parking is somewhat limited due to construction, but has been well-managed.

Most of the dishes looked appealing and tasted good, especially in the antipasti and pizza sections. Unfortunately, there were long, confusing lines in the freshly prepared food section, and all the desserts tasted like frozen mush without any consistency. The staff were approachable, helpful, and quick to answer any questions, but unfortunately, they were also quite busy, which meant we often had to wait for drinks. The ambiance leaves something to be desired for an Italian restaurant. Very open-plan rooms designed for mass consumption rather than quality. Some narrow aisles along the fresh food and pizza buffet. The interior design fits quite well in the Ruhr area... just not in an Italian restaurant. Since drinks are not included in the price, it is unfortunately a bit more expensive, in my opinion.

There's a lot to choose from, but many are simply too salty. Unfortunately, it's not worth the price. You're also prone to stomach upsets.

It's simply a dream. The food is consistently delicious, and the waiters are exceptionally attentive and very accommodating. By far the best all-you-can-eat experience I've ever had.

It's absolutely amazing what a wide selection of food there is when you go to the buffet. Look at the pictures. Lots of appetizers. Lots of main courses: burgers, noodles, steaks, etc. Huge selection of desserts. If anyone says it's not tasty or there's too little choice, they're not normal. More choice, more quality than at some 5-star hotels. You can't complain about the price. Absolutely justified. Grade 1++++++ Highly recommended.

We were there yesterday with the family and toasted to a lovely evening and discovered some new dishes. It was very good, and the buffet was unique. The service was fantastic and friendly, and the staff (chefs) behind the buffet were great. We'd be happy to go again.

The food was top-notch, the service friendly and fast, the place was quite easy to find, although parking was a bit far away. There were a ton of Mediterranean dishes, not just pizza and pasta, but also great salads and so on. The price was reasonable for me: three people for 130 euros including drinks; we had an all-you-can-eat buffet.

We were in antipasti, pasta, and pizza heaven! Delicious food and a fantastic selection. Freshly prepared, delicious, and something for everyone. Friendly and fast service and a lovely ambiance – highly recommended!
