Never again! We had a table reserved for 6:00 PM, but weren't let in until 6:40 PM. My parents, both over 80, had to stand in line in the meantime – absolutely disrespectful! At the entrance, all women have their handbags taken, supposedly "to prevent anyone from stealing sushi" – it's simply embarrassing. And the restrooms are in such a state that even the train station toilets look like Versailles by comparison. Once and never again.

I wasn't particularly impressed with this restaurant before, but after my last visit, I'm absolutely certain: that was definitely the last time I'll ever eat there. The beginning was disappointing from the start – a 40-minute wait at the entrance, even though we had a reservation. Then we had to pay for our food immediately, as if we'd otherwise just walk out without paying. Handbags had to be left in a locker "so no one takes food" – it didn't feel like a restaurant at all, but more like we were queuing for free soup, and under suspicion at that. On top of that, they explained that we'd have to pay extra for any leftover food on our plates. After all these unpleasant experiences, we finally got to the dining room – everything was grimy, there was no cutlery on the tables, we had to find our own glasses, and the food was mediocre at best. In the end, all that remained was a feeling of humiliation and disrespect towards the guests. Clearly: not recommended.

The food isn't bad. €24 for the Saturday lunch buffet, including the grill and drinks, is unbeatable value for money.

The food has become incredibly expensive, especially for children who don't eat much. Then there are the time limits, and you have to lock your bag away for a deposit. Plus, I find it very cold when it's not crowded.

If someone had asked me a few years ago how the food, service, and friendliness were at Gourmet Tempel Dortmund, I would immediately say it was one of the best within a 100 km radius. Unfortunately, that's no longer the case. Everything has deteriorated, starting with the ambiance, the equipment, the food, and very little filling. The cutlery, plates, and glasses were almost all dirty and sticky. 🙂 The staff were very unfriendly. There's no master grill on the grill, just someone who doesn't know anything about grilling. The worst thing is that if it's not grilled well, you still have to eat everything, otherwise you get a fine... 😅 It's a shame that a restaurant like that, which I could have missed, is no longer like that. I wish you much success in your future endeavors.

We ate at Gourmet Tempel Dortmund yesterday (around 8 p.m.) – unfortunately, it was a complete disaster. We had to lock our bags as soon as we entered, as it's forbidden to bring them into the restaurant. You can leave your jackets at reception, but honestly, you had a bad feeling about whether they'd actually be there at the end – it's sad that you can have so little trust in a restaurant. The food was disappointing: more quantity than quality. The roast-your-own beef fillet was an absolute disaster – tough, smelly, and definitely not fresh. The sweet and sour sauce was also spoiled and tasted fermented. We pointed this out to the staff, but there was no reaction or apology. Unfortunately, the bad taste didn't stop there – my partner got stomach cramps and diarrhea afterward, and a friend who was there with us even vomited. The hygiene standards were also appalling: sticky floors, dirty tables, and food leftovers from the previous guest on the chairs. All in all, a truly disappointing experience. We definitely won't be returning and can't recommend the restaurant.

Top Asian restaurant, highly recommended. The quality and selection are simply fantastic. Drinks are even included. If we're ever in Dortmund again, we'll be back for dinner. 👍

So... where do I begin? I went to eat here with friends. The meat, to my eye, was completely cooked, dry, and tough. The "beef fillet" reminded me strongly of a shoe sole—except that a shoe sole would probably have been more tender. The meat as a whole seemed inferior, and in some places even questionable in quality. The sweet and sour sauce tasted spoiled to me and was simply inedible. My friends shared this opinion. When I pointed this out to the staff, no one cared. Overall, the meal was simply disastrous. The best part: I had to pay a whopping €32 (per person) for this "treat." Honestly, for that money, I could have gone to McDonald's three times and probably would have been happier (and fuller). After the meal, several of our group had stomach upsets. Of course, I can't say for sure that it was directly from the food—but the timing was striking. Maybe this is something for the health department to check out, at least. Conclusion: Once and never again. For me, this was the culinary low point of the year.

People, for your own protection, just stay away from

Paying before you've even entered the restaurant (as a reminder of the "special" clientele)? With a card stating when you have to leave the restaurant? With a ban on bringing bags (with birthday gifts) into the restaurant? With a warning not to use the cloakroom, as clothes might "disappear"? Without an actual reservation, even though I explicitly and in writing requested a quiet seat (which we received upon request)? If the first action hadn't been paying, we probably would have considered dining and celebrating elsewhere! We also didn't like the enormous size and the relatively high noise level. The same applies to the noticeably large number of visitors who strangely "checked" my daughter and granddaughter and acted in front of the buffet and in the aisles as if they were the only guests. And: We absolutely dislike knives with clearly visible fingerprints and plastic plates. But fortunately, there were also positive aspects: the large selection of food (sorted) and cold drinks (completely unsorted), the taste of many (but not all) dishes, an orange juicer and a coffee machine (although only a few varieties are available), and attentive and mostly very friendly staff. And: €32 per person is fair. My conclusion: If it's all about the food, the gourmet temple is a decent place, but many details prevented us from finding the visit pleasant – and we didn't see the supposedly "futuristic" lighting anywhere.

The Gourmet Temple Dortmund is generally decent, but much of the buffet unfortunately seems to have just thawed. The floor is very sticky in places, and when it's full, it quickly becomes uncomfortable. Due to its location in the Nordstadt district, the clientele is also very diverse.

All-you-can-eat and all-you-can-drink restaurant The food is perfectly fine. Everything seems a bit chaotic and like a mass production operation. You don't really feel comfortable.

We ate at the restaurant with the family yesterday. Unfortunately, it was rather disappointing overall. The place was completely overcrowded and therefore extremely loud, which made the atmosphere quite uncomfortable. The food itself was mediocre – much of it seemed like ready-made or frozen items, especially the breaded dishes. The desserts were also rather disappointing: mostly ready-made cakes and canned fruit, nothing particularly fresh or homemade. It really has nothing to do with Chinese or Mongolian food at all. On the positive side, they offer an all-you-can-eat and drink menu – this can be quite convenient for larger groups, such as a Christmas party or birthday party. However, I wouldn't recommend the restaurant for a cozy evening for two or a date.

32 euros isn't a lot for the selection this restaurant offers. It's been about two years since I was last here, and I wasn't happy then, but now they've really stepped up their game.

Unfortunately, the taste is absolutely subpar. The meat is overcooked. The peanut sauce tastes like lime? The ambiance is OK. The service is friendly and courteous. Unfortunately, we can't give the food a positive rating. We also find it horrible that you have to pay in advance!!! Never experienced anything like that before!! Handbags are NOT allowed in the dining room (€2 deposit). They have to be locked in a cupboard...which is weird. The food was only lukewarm. Sorry, that's a shame 🤔

Always delicious and pleasant there

We went to Gourmet Tempel yesterday as a large group, and unfortunately, the visit was very disappointing. The lady at the cashier was extremely unfriendly from the start. She wanted to charge our 10-year-old daughter the adult price, even though we explained repeatedly that she was only 10. She insisted on seeing our ID—which, of course, we didn't have with us. After we showed her our insurance card and she saw that our daughter was indeed 10, there was no apology or understanding. The overall treatment was very disrespectful, which is why things got a bit loud for a while. After eating for a while, the lady came back and asked in an unfriendly tone why we were sitting at a different table—even though we had never changed seats. She also wanted a €10 deposit just because there were several children with us. Unfortunately, the food wasn't good either, and several people in our group had stomach aches afterward, one of whom vomited. Overall, a very disappointing visit—unfriendly service, an unpleasant atmosphere, and mediocre food. We definitely won't be coming back.

Very disappointing! The website and the restaurant say the buffet is open from 1:00 PM to 9:30 PM. We arrived at 3:00 PM, but we were told the buffet wasn't available until 4:00 PM! Despite that, we had to pay the full price of €32 per person, and after 4:00 PM, it costs an extra €5 per person. We were a group of 10 people, and this information was never clearly explained anywhere—neither online nor on-site. Very unclear and unfair policy. I wouldn't recommend anyone to go there until they improve their information policy. Very disappointing experience! We were shocked at how this restaurant has changed. The cleanliness is very questionable. There are carts everywhere with food already starting to dry out. The busy little robots drive the food around for so long that it arrives cold. So, that was the last time we were there.

The waiters were super friendly, nice, and helpful. But sometimes the food was just not good: burnt pasta, food too cold, rubbery taste, etc. The manager or boss was totally unpleasant. We sat there for a total of two hours, got our food, and she came around the corner every ten minutes and said, "Food, food, food..." I paid €64 to browse and try the food, and if I don't like something, I'm not going to pay an extra €3, are I? Is that even possible?? Per 100g... No, really, the last few years from 2012-2018 were really good, but now it's a complete disaster. Even McDonald's tastes better.

I visited Gourmet Tempel Nord Dortmund and was completely thrilled! 🎉 The restaurant not only offers a great selection of dishes, but also a very pleasant ambiance. The room was lovingly decorated – with red and white balloons, fresh flowers, and stylish details. The cozy seating area by the window with a view of the greenery created a particularly relaxed atmosphere. The staff was friendly, attentive, and always made sure we didn't miss anything. The food was fresh, varied, and delicious – from sushi to hot dishes, there was everything. A perfect place for parties, birthdays, or simply a lovely evening with family and friends. It's very dirty there, hygiene is nonexistent! It's completely overpriced, and there's very little choice! Some of the food stank.

It was our first time there. We couldn't even get to the tables. We were immediately told to lock our bags (including our diaper bags) in a locker because drinks were being stolen...then we would have to pay for the food immediately BEFORE eating!!!!! The ladies were very unfriendly... I've never experienced anything like that in a restaurant before... Oh, and you're only allowed to stay for 2.5 hours... Overall, not a great family outing, unfortunately. I don't recommend it, as the food wasn't good either. Unfortunately!

The food selection is really top-notch. I had the chance to try lots of new things that I hadn't eaten before. It's not just all you can eat, but also drinks. You get two free alcoholic drinks, and you can drink as much soft drinks as you like. The drinks selection was very varied. The waiter came by every now and then and took the empty plates away. However, if there's more than 100g left over, there's a flat rate of €5. The only thing I have to complain about are the toilets. If you've eaten a lot, the flickering lights and the not-so-clean toilets aren't very pleasant. I would recommend not eating too much of anything at once. Unfortunately, I was sick afterwards, and I didn't eat all that much. If you make a reservation, you have 2.5 hours for your stay. All in all, it was still a nice evening.

It's convenient that drinks are included, but the taste of the meat would be more important to me. The ready-made dishes weren't to our taste. The ready-made noodles were drenched in soy sauce, the meat in the ready-made dishes was too fatty, and the meat that could be grilled was tough. I would like to say today that the temple is correct. We have been a regular member since 2014 and since then everything has been fine, but recently everything was dirty and mice were in the kitchen. When we spoke to the boss, two mice went into the kitchen. She said it doesn't matter, you don't have to eat with us anymore, never again. It's cheeky.

We were here with a large group for an all-you-can-eat meal. There was a misunderstanding when paying because we paid separately, resulting in confusion over who had already paid and who hadn't. This isn't unusual when eating out with a large group. Instead of calmly resolving the situation, the lady at the cash register started shouting loudly and embarrassing us in front of everyone. This was very disrespectful and completely unnecessary – we could have easily discussed it in a normal tone. If we had intentionally not paid, we certainly wouldn't have appeared so open and normal. Then one person even had to pay a €10 deposit in case something wasn't finished. The whole thing seemed unpleasant, threatening, and disrespectful. A simple warning in a normal tone would have been enough. For us, one thing is clear: Never again.

The only restaurant from 2016 to this day that the quality of food has not changed. The best restaurant I have visited in Germany. All love, appreciation and respect to the restaurant owner and the staff.

You constantly felt like you were being stared at and just didn't feel comfortable, even with a small amount of food. I advise you not to eat at this place!

The food was cold, the fried noodles burnt. The floor was stained, and you should inspect the glasses before using them. Drinks aren't included: you have to pay after two beers. Dirty and clean dishes are mixed together on a serving cart. The restrooms are a mess, and refilling the paper towels would probably cost too much. There was only one Asian woman in the restaurant, and she was the one who took the cash at the entrance (yes, BEFORE eating, so you don't have a chance to leave once you've seen the filth). I spent many years in sales, which is evident from my reviews, but this experience was by far the worst. Disgusting.

The food was okay, but nothing special. The food was constantly being replenished. They also cleaned occasionally. The Mongolian food arrived only semi-warm. The staff was friendly and attentive, but there was a certain lack of organization...a sense of junk at the reception desk. Hence the low score for ambience.

The restaurant is fine and the staff are great, but the reception was very poor. Even though I'm a regular customer, this was the first time I've been insulted like this. I have a two-year-old child, but she claimed he was three and demanded my card. The treatment was truly abysmal.

If I could, I would give it 10 stars. I'm definitely never coming back here! The manager's disrespectful behavior toward customers is unbelievable. She insisted on charging us just because we left two cucumbers on our plates and the prawn shells weren't eaten. I didn't know that prawn shells are now obligatory to eat. First and last time there. It was on a weekday, shortly after it opened, so it wasn't very busy. The cleanliness left a lot to be desired upon closer inspection. For example, the robots and clamps (for "live cooking") were dirty with old grease and hadn't been cleaned in a while. Theoretically, you could get freshly squeezed orange juice if there were oranges in the machine and the machine wasn't covered in mold – right next to the buffet! The food was completely cold to begin with (frozen food just thawed?) and of a quality well below the level we're used to from Chinese buffets. The fact that you have to pay in advance upon entry and that handbags have to be locked in lockers should have been warning enough. Other guests' video calls, which were loudly and loudly broadcast throughout the room, apparently didn't bother the manager and were part of the atmosphere. The only positive was that the plates were cleared quickly. All in all: there's probably a reason for paying in advance. I felt like getting up and leaving. It's surprising that this store is still allowed to operate, given such poor hygiene practices.

At €30 including drinks, it's certainly a bargain. But they seem to prefer fighting this battle with brand-name drinks rather than food. The food is tasteless, oily, uncreative, and, above all, completely interchangeable. Anything that can be stretched, they'll stretch it. And for an Asian buffet, there are very few Asian dishes. The servers are great and quickly clear away used dishes. Unfortunately, half the plates at the counter are already dirty. The whole place is falling apart in some places. They'll probably keep milking this cow until they go bankrupt or the health department shuts the place down. Not recommended!

Service is attentive and friendly, but overwhelmed by the sheer number of guests. A lot of convenience food (ready meals). Overall, we cannot recommend this restaurant. The high rating on Google is incomprehensible. Gourmet Temple would be more appropriate; a gourmet won't find his way here.

I visited a Chinese buffet where the price was around 30–32€, depending on the day. You get 2.5 hours to enjoy your meal, and overall, it was a great experience. The service was excellent – very friendly and helpful. The food was fresh and really delicious, with a wide variety of options to choose from. One of the highlights was the drinks section. Non-alcoholic drinks are unlimited and included in the price. There’s even a machine that freshly squeezes natural orange juice – you can see the oranges spinning inside, which is a nice touch! Alcoholic drinks are not included, and while they’re very tasty, the prices are a bit high. Also, if you need to open bottled drinks, there’s a bottle opener attached to the fridge area on the left side – simple but thoughtful detail. Overall, a great spot to enjoy tasty food and good service in a relaxed setting. Worth visiting!

The food was good overall, especially the noodles, as well as some other dishes like the meat with vegetables or the chicken in sauce, which were delicious, unique, and had a great flavor. However, some dishes were quite oily after frying, which somewhat spoiled the overall experience. Furthermore, the prices were relatively high compared to the quality and variety of the dishes.

After our last two visits (we only made the second visit to check if the first was an exception), I unfortunately have to significantly downgrade my original 5-star review. Whether from the Mongolian menu or the buffet, the food has deteriorated considerably. The Mongolian food was dripping with grease, and I still had shrimp on my plate even though I hadn't eaten any. Some of the rice from the rice cooker was burnt. Some of the plates and cutlery still had food leftovers. The fried food is now only available from frozen. I can make my own at home in the hairdresser. On our last visit, the noise was like a train station concourse, accompanied by children playing and running right in front of us. Some of the glasses looked unwashed. The price of €30 is no longer appropriate for this kind of food, especially since the food is brought by a robot and they're cutting back on staff. Unfortunately, we won't be visiting this restaurant again. It's a shame, because it used to be really good and was even cooked without MSG.

We went to this Chinese restaurant with friends today. Unfortunately, the visit was disappointing overall. Although it was only 19 degrees Celsius outside, it was at least 25 degrees Celsius inside – it was stuffy, hot, and the pervasive smell of food made the air unbearable. Unfortunately, some plates and forks weren't properly clean. Among the "clean" cutlery were used ones. When we asked the waiter to replace the forks, he initially said it wasn't possible because they were dirty (!). Later, he himself dropped a clean fork on the floor, picked it up, and simply put it back with the rest of the "clean" forks – absolutely unhygienic. The waiter initially spoke German, but when a friend asked him something, he suddenly announced that he only spoke Bulgarian. The service was chaotic and unfriendly overall – when we asked another employee a question, she simply walked away. The food itself tasted okay, but was very greasy. Unfortunately, many dishes were unavailable at that time. Overall, it's not a place we would visit again. The hygiene conditions and service urgently need to be improved.

I recently ate there with a few friends – and what can I say? It was a real experience! As soon as I entered the restaurant, I was greeted by a large aquarium filled with beautiful, colorful fish. This immediately created a relaxed yet exotic atmosphere. A real eye-catcher and a great way to start the visit. The food was truly delicious – freshly prepared, well-seasoned, and very varied. I was particularly impressed by the appetizers and the sushi selection. The restaurant's prices are also absolutely fair: good quality at a reasonable price. You don't find that often these days. As for the ambiance: modern, pleasantly lit, and with a touch of futuristic technology. And yes, there are the robots – they are definitely a highlight! They bring the food directly to the table and bring a smile to every guest's face. Children and tech enthusiasts, in particular, will definitely enjoy themselves here. I personally found them not only practical but also quite entertaining. The staff were friendly and helpful. Despite the crowds (the restaurant was quite full), they remained calm and attentive. The only minor drawback: the restrooms. Unfortunately, there's no music anymore – that used to be a fun feature, but it's now missing. The cleanliness there was also "okay," but not on the same level as the rest of the restaurant. Despite minor flaws, I highly recommend the place – whether for dinner with friends, a family outing, or simply if you're curious about the interplay of food and technology. I'll definitely be back – not least because of the friendly atmosphere and, of course... the robots!

They charge 30 euros (per week) per person in advance directly behind the entrance door. For that you get dirty plastic plates, filthy glasses, and lots of fried food. Hygiene is unfortunately lacking. The shelf where the glasses are kept was so filthy that I drank out of the bottles. That's probably why they charge you when you go in, so you don't turn around and walk out after taking a closer look. Unfortunately, we didn't like the food 99% of the time. Only the shrimp were edible. The sweet and sour sauce tasted of dish soap, the fried foods were like bubble gum. Not even the fried noodles were good. The spring rolls were empty inside, which was definitely the laugh of the evening. That says a lot about the quality of the frozen convenience products they use. The dessert appears to be made with Doctor Oetker ready-made mixes, as indicated by the cut-out cardboard sign on the packaging. The crowning glory was the plum schnapps, which we also bought at the end. It had absolutely nothing to do with schnapps; it was pure methylated spirits. Conclusion: nighttime diarrhea - never again!

I was last there several years ago, and a lot has changed since then. It's no longer all-you-can-eat, but all-you-can-eat and drink. So the price increase is certainly justified. Unfortunately, with a two-hour stay, the selection has become quite limited. There's also not much Western European food. However, I do think it's positive that there are now lockers where you can lock your bag. Overall, though, I'd be happy to come back.

Plates, cutlery, and tables are sticky. Glasses are stained and some are decorated with lipstick. The plate clips appear to be bathed in various sauces daily.

If you want to take someone to a Chinese restaurant, this is the place to go. They have a wide selection of food and drinks. From Monday to Saturday, between 12 and 3 p.m., you can enjoy a buffet for €24, including good-quality beer, wine, and other renowned beverages from well-known brands. Everything is refrigerated. Since drinks are included, they don't overdo it with the salt, which is unfortunately common in other similar places.

it is very convenient to celebrate any event. you just go to the cashier, pay and they give you a sign with the time indicated for you. buffet, you can choose whatever you like. drinks in the machine are free, alcohol is extra. also consider your strength, take only what you can eat. if you do not finish something, the waiter will be forced to pass it to the cashier and you will have to pay for the spoilage of the product. So, I'd even give it zero stars. Incredibly unaccommodating and downright rude. We're coming with 9 people, and when one of us asks about an adult not being able to eat much because they've had a gastric sleeve, and everyone knows you can't fit much in a gastric sleeve, they say no, they'll pay the full price. Okay, I understand, but if you say this person isn't eating because €30 isn't worth it for someone who's had surgery, they say "I'm not allowed to sit with the group." Is that supposed to be a joke? Over €200 salary for sitting for 2.5 hours, and if that's not enough, they always pay an extra €5 🤣 So, this is the last time you serve your customers like that. P.S. Everything under the tables was full of water, so we had to clean them first.

Stay away from this place! The floor was completely sticky, food was lying around on the floor at the buffet. The room wasn't air-conditioned. The coffee machine was broken. The quality of the food left much to be desired. When we complained, the waiter didn't even mention it. The hygiene conditions, especially upon closer inspection, are extremely poor. Every third plate was dirty, and glasses were sticky. There are cobwebs on the wall and the lamps above the tables, and they've been there for a while.

Pros: I can recommend this place for a sumptuous buffet. There's a huge selection. The price is reasonable. Cons: Raw vegetables aren't clean. Lettuce leaves have some dirt/dirt on them. Food/drinks/cocktail menu is dirty! There's dirt/dust under the seats.

I ate at Gourmet Tempel Dortmund. The buffet selection is truly extensive, and the food tasted quite good, absolutely fine for an all-you-can-eat restaurant. However, the restaurant was very noisy, especially due to several large groups celebrating loudly. In such cases, it would be desirable for the staff to politely point this out or encourage the groups to be more considerate so that other guests could also eat in a pleasant atmosphere. Overall, it was solid, but the high noise level somewhat spoiled the experience.

The service was okay; there were a few who were irritated and didn't treat us very kindly (not everyone was like that), but the food was excellent, both the main course and the dessert. The restaurant is highly recommended.

If you don't want to eat there during peak times or on holidays, it's recommended. I find it a shame how some of the guests behave. Even though there's a flat rate for food and drinks, there's no need to fill your plate and then leave it there.

The Gourmet Tempel Dortmund impresses with a large and fresh selection at its all-you-can-eat buffet. The value for money is excellent, and you really get a lot for your money. We always enjoy going there and enjoying the varied dishes!

Dirty dishes, dirty plates, dirty floor, sticky and greasy. The buffet was constantly being swept clean, and the food wasn't good either. Never again!

Disaster!!! I considered going upstairs twice at the entrance; everything was very outdated and rancid... a strange smell to the toilets. Inside the store itself, I got a second shock... dirty tables and chairs, cutlery, plates, and glasses not clean. Eating was also very unpleasant. Although the tables were cleared regularly, seeing the dirty trolleys with leftover food and dirty dishes wasn't very appetizing. The same thing continued all the way to the buffet... the floor was slippery, the food was constantly empty, a glance into the kitchen made you sick; even there it didn't look appetizing. Huge towers of empty crates in front of the bar, the reception area looked terrible, with piles of papers and folders; it was just a dirty, rancid store. I wouldn't be surprised if I got diarrhea...
