The menu has a very small note in the upper right corner stating that rice costs an extra €2.80 and is automatically included. The waiter or owner pointed this out to us. We then ordered our food and mentioned that we were using the discount voucher booklet. Our drinks and food arrived quickly; there were only four other guests in the restaurant besides us. The food was really delicious. The sauce on one of the dishes was a bit watery, but perhaps that's how it's supposed to be. The bill included drinks, an appetizer, a main course, and two portions of rice. When we politely asked why we were charged for two portions of rice, the owner became completely unprofessional, shouted at us, and threw the change on the table. Based on this experience, we will not be returning and would not recommend this restaurant.

We had a delicious meal here. Red curry with beef, slightly spicy. Friendly service. The ambiance was suitable for a Thai restaurant, but the music wasn't.

The food was excellent. We had vegetarian spring rolls, satay with peanut sauce, and fried noodles/rice with duck/chicken. We'll definitely be back. To give everything 5 stars, I would recommend the following: * Revise the menus, as there seem to be a variety of them, and as a result, fried rice was served for the 140 instead of fried noodles (also shown on the menu at the entrance door), but it was so delicious that it wasn't a big deal in retrospect. I would also recommend adding the price of the rice directly to the dishes. The small note at the top of the menu is easy to overlook, and then it only leads to frustration. * The ambiance inside is surprisingly nice, but sometimes the potted plants on the table are dying, or the potting soil doesn't look very appetizing. Things that can easily be changed to make it perfect ;)

I was at the Orchidee for lunch today and had a soup of the day (€2.00) and then fried rice with vegetables (€5.50). Both orders were served promptly and tasted excellent. The restaurant is decorated in Thai style, and the staff is polite and friendly. What more could you want?

When I first searched, I came here because it said it was a Thai restaurant, but the owner was Indian, so I mistakenly thought it was an Indian restaurant. However, the food proves it. The chicken curry and tom yum goong were the best. No words are needed. Just come and eat!!!

Unfortunately, another major disaster. Oil-smeared menu, canned soup, and the food had absolutely nothing to do with Thai meals. The initial joy was short-lived when we had to use the completely filthy toilet. No paper to dry our hands with, and everything on the floor was wet. I don't want to know what the kitchen looks like. Once again, we were charged more than usual. Rice costs an additional €2.80 with every meal, and we aren't informed about it. The gourmet block is also only accepted with reluctance. Normally, rice is included with every other Thai meal. Not informing the customer before ordering is simply unprofessional. Customer service was nonsensical. After I complained, the owner became completely unprofessional, shouted at us loudly, threatened us, and kicked us out of the restaurant in front of everyone. You can't eat here without being ripped off. Not to mention the quality of the food. So never eat at this restaurant again. 🤬🤮 It's best to report it to the health department.

A small Asian restaurant on the outskirts of Idstein. The food was delicious and the service was very friendly. Getting a snack was no problem. Parking is only available for one hour in front of the restaurant. You can walk in. Simple but good.

Yesterday, hungry, I stormed the "Orchidee" in Idstein. This restaurant, decorated with enchanting Thai charm, has been in Idstein for many years – always a good choice. Yesterday, I had the "Matsman" and a slightly modified chicken dish. The service was friendly and courteous, and my special requests were accommodated with a smile. The food was once again delicious and tempts me to return soon.

I've ordered from Orchidee several times. I was never particularly satisfied, but I wasn't exactly dissatisfied with the food either. Today, however, I experienced a situation that was almost beyond unprofessional. It's not unusual for people to wait an hour for their food at your place. So I thought I'd order on my way home to shorten the wait at home. The delivery time displayed was 35 minutes – my commute takes 15 minutes, so there shouldn't be any complications. When I got home, I was greeted by my neighbor, who was being called by the delivery person – late in the evening, no less. Instead of simply calling the phone number provided, he rang strangers' doors. The delivery person was also extremely unfriendly and simply said, "If you order, you have to be home." I could understand that statement if you didn't regularly have to wait an hour for your food. Additionally, errors often occurred with previous orders – but you expect understanding. Absolutely outrageous. Now at least I know where I won't order from in the future.

Sind durch den Schlemmerblock hier gelandet. Ordentliches Lokal mit schöner Deko und freundlicher Bedienung. Das sind die 3 Sterne. Reis wird mit Euro 2.80 extra berechnet, und die Garnelen sind mit 2 Stück sehr übersichtlich.Gut gewürzt, ansonsten nicht sehr nah an der Thaiküche. Preise in der Karte werden bei der Rechnung mal kurz erhöht,das geht gar nicht. Das bleibt sicherlich unser einziger Besuch.

I ordered and paid via Lieferando. Was then called 10 minutes before it was supposed to be delivered. There is a construction site on the route. (The diversion is even displayed via Lieferando.) The driver pointed out to me that you have to say this beforehand and that he would turn around again... Thanks for nothing.

It's been a long time since we've been to Thai Orchidee. It was great, the food was very tasty and authentic and was served nice and hot. Very nice host.

I would like to make a complaint about my last order as the food was of extremely poor quality. It was way too spicy and practically inedible. The consistency was also very unpleasant - it looked like vomit, completely drowned in sauce, so you couldn't taste any other flavors. The amount of meat was barely there and the fish was so soggy it felt like a sponge. This experience was extremely disappointing and was in no way up to the quality I would expect from a restaurant. Please look into the incident and let me know if compensation is possible.!!!!!!!!

Go there for lunch every now and then. The food is very good and healthy. The landlord is nice and always makes you feel welcome. The price/performance ratio is still right here

I ordered online from Orchidee today..... duck lunch menu 10.90 euros according to the menu plus spring rolls 3 euros and peanut skewers for 4.50 euros, I paid 22.80 plus 1.20 euros tip..... price calculation is not comprehensible... ... The result was sobering: little duck, a lot of side dishes and rice, two measly chicken skewers and two measly dough rolls....., also extremely unfriendly delivery service..... you shouldn't order there....., good luck With your "business"..., why are there 1 euro delivery costs in Idstein and a price of 3 euros for 5 spring rolls on the internet?

I ordered food. And it was so delicious. A great intense taste. The food was hot. The delivery time is 30 minutes. Great. Really really good. I will definitely order again.

I found the price/performance ratio to be just okay. The sauces tasted like they were stretched. In total there were only two guests there in the afternoon.

First of all I would like to highlight that the food was really good. I didn't like: We ate with the Schlemmer Block voucher book. On the menu there is the price of the dish plus a separate price, the price of the rice. The Schlemmerblock rules clearly state on page 18 that the main course always includes a side dish. Unfortunately there was some discussion here. There was no invoice either. We were simply told how much we would have to pay in the end. Since this amount was correct after a short calculation, we paid without any further discussions. If you as a guest don't have to receive an invoice, I always somehow think about the tax office.

It has nothing to do with Thai food. Generally I fully understand that one can't expect authentic taste, ingredients, and so on from (some) restaurants abroad. But this restaurant should be classified as an Asian restaurant (not Thai, not Chinese, not Vietnamese). Very friendly staff.

Got scammed. I ordered food and waited for 2 hours and the food never arrived. Also the customer service is nonexistent. Called multiple times and no one picked up. Never got my money back.

Delivers the wrong food or not the right food, or leaves things out like sauces for the spring rolls, €4.90 for chicken with sauce, way too expensive for how small they are! I'd rather go to Hofheim to Maytai, rude guest friendship and denies everything on the phone. He wants you to pay more if they do something wrong. I find that kind of thing very unprofessional

The food is made with love and the boss and his staff really make an effort! Really great value for money in 2024 and please stay as you are. I ordered last night for the first time via Lieferando (to Bad Camberg Mitte, by the way). Delivery time was absolutely fine, about 35-40 minutes. The food also arrived "hot" and the driver (with an apron on😊) was very friendly and accommodating! I had wontons, spring rolls and breaded prawns as starters, rice with crispy duck plus vegetables and fried noodles with chicken. There was also sweet and sour sauce. First of all, the wontons and spring rolls were delicious. I would order again. The breaded shrimp were OK, I found them to be a bit "mushy" inside or too much breading. The fried noodles were good, with even my five year old son asking where the meat was. You really had to look for it. The crispy duck with vegetables and rice was also ok. The vegetables were crunchy and the rice was also on point. Unfortunately the duck meat was not of high quality, very narrow, little meat and not crispy. The vegetables were in a broth and the duck breast on top. There was also just too much brew, which made it a bit watery. The taste was also okay and not under-seasoned. I've eaten a lot of Asian food in my life and I really know a lot of different dishes and types of preparation/quality etc. I definitely know worse restaurants, but also better ones. I would order again and try something different. Price wise. Two main courses and three starters for just under €43 including delivery.

I've been living in Idstein for 2 1/2 years and have never been there before. The food was super tasty and the staff was very nice. Prices are very good and the atmosphere is inviting. Go there again.

The last: Been there. Placed in an empty shop. Starter plate and duck dish for myself, is that possible? Yes that works. Ordered beer, wanted to take food with me. Came out of the kitchen a minute later. No, it doesn't work. Oh, then cancel. How much does a lukewarm 0.33 bottled beer Bitburger cost? 3.90? There you have it, change please. Bitburger ext. An elderly person looks out of the kitchen. Look at me. No, it's okay. Nope, change. Never again.

We had dinner at Orchid today. The atmosphere was nice, the male waiters were all very friendly and accommodating, the food was very tasty, the portions were plentiful and we didn't have to wait long. There are parking spaces in the backyard. We will definitely come back again.

Great Thai food in a cozy atmosphere. The restaurant is located on a rather unattractive street in Idstein, but when you enter the restaurant everything is great. A little insider tip for me.

Unfortunately, this highly recommended Thai restaurant is located very far away from the "Mein-Stream" in Idstein. Next to the post office, almost on the outskirts of town. This cuisine and the attentive host don't deserve the fact that the restaurant is so inconspicuous and therefore leads to a bit of a wallflower existence. Thailand lovers can experience authentic and very tasty cuisine here, prepared with different levels of spice depending on whether yellow, red or green curry is used. And all of this with an outstanding price-performance ratio. The opulent portions at unbelievably low prices almost bring tears of joy. If you don't have a vacation in Thailand planned at the moment, this is a real alternative.

Very good red Thai curry with kaffir leaves: spicy but with a great taste. I was there on a Monday evening and was the only guest. Normally that's not a good sign, but here they have delicious Thai food, attentive service and opening times until 10pm. A star deduction for the delivery drivers who picked up their deliveries in the restaurant and the somewhat inappropriate jazz music from the web radio. I will happily go there again.

Danger !!! Schlemmerblock users have to pay an extra rice of 2.50 euros per person. P. Food was okay so far. When we pointed out to him that it would not be correct to charge extra for rice just because we were using the gourmet block, the owner became unfriendly and we should go eat at the Tafel. We have been ordering here regularly for a few weeks now. Our guests and we are very satisfied. Very tasty food, varied menu, fast delivery. Very friendly. Easy online ordering process. Excellent service - we even received a call back when we specified "gluten-free" for a dish when ordering.

The food arrived way too late. The order was coordinated with my deadlines and was delivered late. Unfortunately there wasn't the food I wanted to order either. So now I have to eat a cold meal alone, which I didn't want to have. Never again!

An impudence. To all customers affected by the current (November 24th, 2023) road closure in BERMBACH: the restaurant refuses to deliver after ordering and payment via Lieferando due to the above-mentioned road closure. There is no apology or even small compensation (e.g. free drink or similar). All you are required to do is pick up the food yourself. We only chose Orchid because we wanted to have food delivered and didn't want to drive back to pick it up. Otherwise we would have ordered from Little Thai in Idstein this evening - the food there is worlds better than at Orchidee. Now we are shocked by the lack of service and had to settle for subpar food. We will definitely never order from Orchidee or go there again and we advise everyone not to do so!

According to Lieferando, food should be with me shortly. After another 30 minutes I called...driver was notified. Then it came at some point. The food was totally over salted...cold...and the dessert was completely mushy. Never again.

Sympathisches kleines asiatisches Restaurant mit vorwiegend thailändischer Küche. Da die Küche klein ist, sollte man etwas mehr Zeit einplanen, denn es wird alles frisch zubereitet. Ich war zweimal dort und es hat mir dort beide Abende sehr gut geschmeckt.

Rund um zu Frieden. Essen war sehr lecker, Service extrem freundlich.

Die Preise in der Karte stimmen nicht, die Kasse funktioniert nicht, das Essen ist durchschnittlich und in der Karte stehen die Softgetränke mit 0,33l, man bekommt aber 0,2l. Einer Bekannten war nach dem Essen schlecht und musste sich mehrfach übergeben, als sie zu Hause war. Bei mir war die Soße viel zu dünnflüssig. Ich werde da sicher nie wieder essen.

Schade, das man hier einen Stern geben muß! Hier sind eher Minussterne zu vergeben. Mangelhaft, Mangelhaft unmöglich!

Von thailändischer Küche kann hier keine Rede sein ! So schlecht habe ich schon lange nicht mehr gegessen ! Man schmeckte nur instand Gewürze raus ! Zum Glück über Schlemmer Block …und nicht den vollen Preis bezahlt ! Dennoch waren die 30€ zu viel für das schlechte Essen .

Essen bestellt und anstatt 90 min. war das Essen nach 50 min. da. Positiv überrascht! Die Wan Tan selbst gemacht, schon fein! Meistens bekommt mann da TK-Ware! Die Frühlingsrollen waren TK, aber von der Qualität in Ordnung. Die gebratenen Nudeln kann man gut essen! Luft nach oben gibt es, aber für schnelle Küche voll okay.

Wir bräuchten nicht lange warten. Getränke waren ruck zuck aufgenommen und verteilt. Auch beim Essen gab keine Verzögerungen. Schnell und Preiswert.

Das Essen war lecker, man hat auch nicht lange warten müssen. Im großen und ganzen ganz nett bis auf das die Bedienung schon abgeräumt hat als ich noch am kauen war.

Das Essen war wirklich lecker. Die Bedienung freundlich aber nach meinem Geschmack nicht richtig gekleidet.Zu bemängeln ist die Speisekarte. Sowohl draussen im Aushang als auch im Internet wird ein Mittagsmenü ausgewiesen welche es in der Form nicht mehr gibt. Zusätze wie vergünstigte Getränke und Suppe/Mini-Frühlingsrollen fanden dann als wir Platz nahmen auch keine Gültigkeit mit der Begründung, alles sei teurer geworden. Bei der geringen Frequenz während unseres Besuches und auch danach wurde die "falsche" Speisekarte nicht entfernt.

Essen per Lieferando bestellt. Sie haben es bestätigt und eine Lieferzeit von 90 Minuten angegeben. Nach 90 Minuten haben Sie es dann einfach so storniert. Und ich musste woanders bestellen. Also 90 Minuten umsonst gewartet. Danke für nichts, unglaublich. Essen nicht probiert, deshalb 3 Sterne. Trotzdem sehr enttäuscht von diesem Erlebnis

Der Salat „Pla Gung“, den ich bestellte hatte leider nichts mit Thailand zu tun. Viel zu sauer und fade. Wenigstens waren die Produkte frisch. Das Hauptgericht, war geschmacklich ok! Auch hier war die Rechnung 30 Cent höher als in der Speisekarte angegeben. Da ist noch viel Luft nach oben! Übung macht den Meister!

Die Orchidee ist ein kleines wenig besuchtes Restaurant an der viel befahrenen Limburger Straße. Wir gehen hier ab und zu gerne hin da man ohne Reservierung immer einen Platz bekommt und in ruhiger Atmosphäre bei einem sehr netten und aufmerksamen Gastgeber essen kann. Die Hauptgerichte haben ein gutes Preis/Leistungsverhältnis, sie schmecken gut und sind bekömmlich, was bei Asiafood nicht immer der Fall ist. Die Vorspeisen sind zu empfehlen.
