Opern Café in Leipzig

I ordered from the opera café for the break and was very satisfied. The canapés looked and tasted very appetizing. Everything was prepared as ordered and the service was friendly. Thank you very much.

The worst food I've had there in a long time. Four different dishes. One dish was not edible. Totally hard noodles due to microwave heating. Quality of the food isn't even worth one star. Service tried very hard, but still didn't add any value to the visit there.

A very nice restaurant. The ambience was very nice. The food was very tasty. The condition was friendly and helpful.

A special little café with a chic atmosphere and quite good service. The food is first class but at high prices. If you want to have a nice meal here before the performance, you have to bring good money in your wallet. A tip for all gourmets is the 3-course menu. That's what you like to come here for. Surprise! The online menu promised a large selection and moderate prices. That's why we booked a table there before the concert. Suddenly there is a completely different menu on site: significantly smaller offerings and much higher prices. That's no way to make friends...

Essen enttäuschend, lauwarm, Kürbis Suppe ohne Gewürze, fade. Bedienung freundlich und aufmerksam. Wir waren vor der Silvester Gala dort.

Disappointed! Inspired by the many positive reviews, we visited the opera cafe after a thoroughly successful MAGIC FLUTE. At first we were thrilled too, as the table was lovingly set and the whole atmosphere was right. But this enthusiasm quickly faded and quickly turned into disappointment. In short: The cards arrived piecemeal after 30 minutes, and another 15 passed before the order was taken. The drinks were ready but weren't served, we had to wait again, the food came another 45 minutes later, two dishes were cold, the dessert was incomplete, side dishes were missing, ... On top of that, it was expensive. Well - we're not spoiled - anything can happen: staff shortages, no well-coordinated team and so on. But what disappointed us most was the poor service. The waitress became increasingly snarky and seemed insecure. When it came time to pay, there were more objections, not a single word of apology or explanation. In the end you had the feeling that it was all your own fault. A pity. This way you forgive yourself a lot and show that you don't necessarily care about your guests. There is certainly more possible.

We only got our drinks served after 35 minutes but only after we asked again. The food was cold, partly oversalted and partly unseasoned. The service was extremely unfriendly and complained several times when we wanted our bill. All of this is really not okay at these high prices. Definitely not recommended and actually ZERO stars!! Average quality of high priced food; Unfortunately, extremely poor service

The service was very bad. We waited over an hour for the food, the drinks only came when asked and there were complaints about separate bills. The food was below average (especially for the high price) and was served cold. Never again!

Wir sind an der Bar von dem Servierer sehr unfreundlich empfangen worden. Wir wollten vor dem Opernbesuch einen Tisch im Restaurant telefonisch reservieren, was laut Angestellter nicht möglich wäre. Abends in der Oper waren aber leider alle Tische reserviert. Auf Nachfrage unsererseits wurde uns gesagt, dass unsere Aussagen nicht stimmen würden und wir nie angerufen hätten. Desweiteren wurde unser Sohn ebenso sehr unfreundlich angesprochen. Fazit....sehr unfreundliche Begrüßung ohne Begründung, traurig...weil wir uns auf den Besuch in der Oper gefreut hatten

Went there for coffee. The terrace still offered enough space on this sunny day. We were happy with everything, iced chocolate, cappuccino, cake, and will definitely go there more often.

Directly in the opera with a view of Augustusplatz. For a cafe, good selection of food and drinks.

Da kann man getrost auch selber kochen. Tiefkühlfisch auch noch schlecht zubereitet… Hot Brownie war eben so TK aber okay. Schade um den Abend

We had cafe und kuchen and it was very good. Fast and attentive service. We did not had a reservation but the waitress quickly found for us a table. Recommended.

Wir können das Operncafé empfehlen. Nach der Aufführung um 22:30 gab es noch alle Gerichte von der Karte. Diese ist nicht sehr umfangreich aber jeder hat etwas gefunden. Wir waren von der Qualität positiv überrascht. Die Bedienung war freundlich und hatte auch kein Problem mit Sonderwünschen. Kommen wieder.

Positiv: + direkt im Opernhaus, gut um sich vor oder nach der Aufführung noch zu stärken. + Große Terrasse. + Auch innen angenehmes Ambiente. + Guter Service. Negativ: - Das Essen war eher Kantinenqualität mit Fehlern (Fisch zu scharf in billgem Fett gebraten, Fleisch zäh). - Die Preise sind allgemein zu hoch für das Gebotene, besonders für Leipziger Verhältnisse.

The claims on their current website of being "exclusive" and offering "culinary peaks" are wildly exaggerated. The food is edible, but by no means exclusive. The fish dish I ate was probably made from frozen fish. They don't even manage to serve a decent Spaghetti-eis (spaghetti ice cream), instead I got an industrial ice cream with a syrupy sauce. The service was prompt and friendly.

Sehr zuvorkommendes und super freundliches Personal, das Essen war gut, aber eher nicht den Preisen angemessen. Für etwas, das sich in der Karte sehr gut las, dann aber "normal gut" schmeckte, möchte ich keine 18-20€ ausgeben. Das Spaghetti-Eis zum Dessert war augenscheinlich ein Convinience Produkt, was wir sehr schade fanden. Das passt einfach nicht ins Ambiente, in dem wir uns dennoch wohlgefühlt haben.

Nach "Carmen" ließen wir, in größerer Runde, den tollen Abend im Opern Café ausklingen. Super freundliche Bedienung, das Essen war sehr lecker und schön angerichtet. Schön das es zu dieser späten Zeit noch einige warme Gerichte gab. Lockere Atmosphäre... rund um zufrieden.

Sehr nett. Sehr gute Essen und ein wirklich sehr liebe Bedienung. Hat mir gut gefallen.

Das Opernmenü wäre zu empfehlen. Ansonsten ist es gegen 18.00 Uhr noch recht leer. Nettes Personal. Freisitz vorhanden.
