Very good food. We sat upstairs. This is particularly beautiful. You wait a long time for the drinks and they don't ask very quickly when the glass is empty. Otherwise perfect. Staff super nice.

Pleasant atmosphere. Price-performance ratio is not quite right. A lot of money for very, very clear portions. As North Germans, we are used to completely different things. With us you will get full. At first we looked fed up. This is what an appetizer looks like for us, but not a main course. Over 70 euros for a starter 2 main courses and 2 drinks. Oh well. But what was eaten was tasty.👍

Ontario offers an incredible variety of delicious food, making it a dream destination for food lovers. Every time we visit, we’re impressed by the diverse culinary experiences, from hearty farm-to-table dishes to world-class fine dining.

We were there today with 2 adults and 2 children. We were there at 2 p.m. According to the receipt, the order started at 2:13 p.m. First a round of drinks was ordered. A cola, a hot chocolate, two sodas and a beer took at least 15 minutes to be served. Then we immediately ordered food. There were 2 starters and 4 main courses. The starters, a garden salad and a carpaccio, took 20 minutes and were not served well in terms of appearance. Then we waited over an hour for the 4 main courses. Then the waiter came and asked if we had received the main courses. We had to answer this with no and then canceled it. The waiter who took this order then asked why the cancellation. I told him that the order was over an hour ago and we don't want it anymore. He countered and said that that couldn't be right, it was full, etc. Finally he accepted the cancellation but said he had to bring the bill for the drinks and 2 starters straight away. When he came back with the bill, he apologized because the main courses had waited over an hour and hadn't arrived. But first deny that it wasn't. Furthermore, the heater on the umbrella didn't work because it was defective. We also sat outside to smoke cigarettes. We asked for an ashtray and were answered that there wasn't one but one would be organized. Nobody came the entire stay. Service and friendliness is zero. This restaurant will no longer have us as customers and we will give this restaurant a wide berth.

A birthday voucher was the reason for visiting Ontario. Overall, I have to say, it wasn't that great. The ambience was very good, the food was good but not great as it was too cold. Unfortunately the starter was served after the main course, which was strange. The very friendly service apologized, but that shouldn't happen in this price range. At the end there was a Verdauerli, 4 cl for a rock-hard 14.40 euros. However, the price was not stated but was only reflected in the invoice. This was over €125. Such mistakes shouldn't happen in this price range. Therefore only 3 points. I give myself pictures of the food. Another visit as well. It's a shame ☹️

We paid a lot and ended up being very disappointed. We have no recommendation. The meat was almost cold, after commenting we were no longer noticed and treated absolutely outrageously. Without style and format.

Unfortunately the buffalo burger was a bit dry. Meat was completely cooked through. The bun is very cross. Not my taste. But the staff is super friendly and attentive.

Always a pleasure. And despite the “hut being full” at lunchtime, our cellar was very friendly and not stressed. The lady at the counter has her job completely under control. We always enjoy coming to Ontario. Delicious food, quick, friendly service and a great location in the middle of the city. What more could you want?

All who attended the dinner with me said that they had a great experience and the food and service was great. Would reccommend going to eat here to anyone going to Dresden.

The food is really delicious and the staff is very accommodating. Really only recommended and definitely a well-deserved good rating. Fast and friendly service. I can only recommend this restaurant and would love to come back here again and again.

Geschmackvoll gedeckte Tische, ein wunderschöner Blick auf die vorweihnachtlich erleuchtete Dresdner Altstadt. Essen und Getränke waren durchschnittlich, der Preis dafür zu hoch. Aufmerksame, freundliche Mitarbeiter, die ihren Job im Griff hatten. Ein hoher Lärmpegel, weil an der Bar im Hintergrund laufend Cocktails gemischt und Eis zerkleinert wurde. Insgesamt ein eher enttäuschender Restaurantbesuch.

Unfortunately the price performance doesn't match!

Compared to a year ago, both the food and service had improved greatly. The preparation of the meat and the surprising variety of flavors of the seasonal drinks were particularly good.

4 of us ate there today. The waiter gave the impression that he didn't really know what he was serving. And the BBQ bottle was broken, a shame. Otherwise everything was great 👍🏼

a great evening with delicious food and great service, prices in the city center are always a little higher but the food and service are first class, anyone who wants to go out to eat on the weekend without a reservation will now have a hard time in the trendy cities of this republic

Pleasant atmosphere, great service and delicious food that is worth the price. Worth it 😋.

Always worth the "trip". We drive 200km just to be able to eat there. I think that says it all. The meat, the side dishes, the sauces are simply a poem. For dessert, a scoop of homemade ice cream is highly recommended. Even that Freshly prepared drinks based on home recipes are consistently very tasty and what we saw was very popular. We'll be back, we promise!! After 11 years, it's still just as special as the first evening.

During my visit today, the fillet steak was good, the spinach was okay, but the small potatoes were overcooked. I think the price is way too high for the quality of the food. The service is very friendly and helpful. This was my third visit, but next time I'm in Dresden I'll choose another restaurant.

Located right next to the Frauenkirche, Ontario offers delicious food and drinks. The prices are reasonable given the good quality, and the service was very friendly. The homemade lemonades are highly recommended - a delicious thirst quencher, especially in summer. I'll be happy to take a look again next time I'm in Dresden 😋

Schon der Empfang im Restaurant war super und auch der Tisch mit Ausblick zur Frauenkirche. Das Steak war genial und auf den Punkt gebraten. Es gab eine tolle Auswahl an Beilagen. Preis-/ Leistungsverhältniss war ebenfalls super … jederzeit wieder 😄

Alles bestens wir kommen gerne wieder, wahren zum Café und Kuchen da kleine Geburtstagsrunde...

We sat outside for 40 minutes without being served, the food is also expensive.

Unfortunately we had to wait a very long time. Our order wasn't taken for an hour and we didn't have anything to drink until 1½ hours later. The starters were delivered “relatively” quickly, but the main meals took even longer. In the end we spent our stay (7:30 p.m. - 10:30 p.m.) just waiting. Everything seemed very disorganized... The food and drinks were nonetheless tasty and the waiters were friendly.

Food and other services were amazing. Looses 1 star because 1 waiter (black shirt) told us it was a 20 minute wait. Asked to other waiters (red checkered shirts) and was told to wait a sec and found us a table very quickly.

We went to this restaurant on a recommendation and wanted to treat ourselves to something on our last evening in Dresden. Unfortunately the burgers didn't taste like anything and were very small. What this hard lettuce was supposed to do on the burger remained a mystery. The price/performance ratio was subpar for us, the burger wasn't worth €10 - but it cost €21.50. Spent a lot of money and ended up returning home disappointed.

Das Essen war sehr lecker und der Service passte. Ich frage mich nur, warum ich zwischen Optionen wie Geschäftsessen, Date oder Geburtstag auswählen kann, aber kein Unterschied erkennbar ist? Wozu dann diese Optionen?

A great restaurant with good selection and high quality. A restaurant like this can be paid for handsomely, partly because of its location. I still go there regularly.

Expensive and small portions, obviously not much staff. Charging €4.20 for a 0.33 non-alcoholic bottled beer is just plain cheeky. However, the lady from the service was friendly even though we had to wait a long time for the drinks.

Top service, super friendly staff, extensive menu, prices and portions ok. Highly recommended.

The service is dramatic. Waiting time for the order to be taken is 10 minutes. Waiting for the soup itself is 15 minutes.. the portion is very small, there is no shrimp in the shrimp soup.. I do not recommend it.

We had reserved a table for October 4, 2024 at 6:30 p.m., when we arrived we were warmly welcomed, the table was assigned to us and our order was taken, the starter was delicious, I had ordered a wine that I thought was down and It didn't taste good anymore, maybe I was expecting something different, I told the waitress, she took my glass and smelled it, no comment, you accept it, as the main course I had specially ordered a salad with spicy fried chicken , (as I said, fry it crispy), I received a salad with raw chicken on the inside that wasn't fried until crispy, after another complaint to the waitress, I was given my same salad with darker chicken without a word of apology or a few words or a small one Response on the invoice, at your own discretion. I found her to be very impersonal and not empathetic towards the guest. I asked for the menu for dessert, my attempt to get dessert was futile and completely ignored. The rest was consistent. Alles in allem ein schöner Abend. Das Ambiente und der Service im Lokal waren super; wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Die Speisekarte ist abwechslungsreich und man hat es schwer sich zu entscheiden. Steaks und Fisch waren auf den Punkte gegart, sehr schmackhaft und in jedem Fall den Preis wert. Einziges Manko - wir fanden die Preise für die Beilagen im Vergleich zu der gereichten Menge etwas überteuert. In anderen Häusern bin ich es gewohnt, dass man mehrere Beilagen bestellen kann, diese separat zum Hauptgericht serviert werden und man diese am Tisch auch Teilen kann. Hier leider nicht möglich - 2 Beilagen zum Steak für insgesamt € 14,00 in mundgerechter 1-Personen-Menge auf dem Teller angerichtet ist definitiv zu viel. Gleiches gilt leider auch für die fast ausschließlich kanadischen Weine. Die Weinregion um Niagara ist nicht schlecht - aber auch hier knapp € 10,00 für einen mittelmäßigen Syrah ist zuviel. Es war trotzdem ein runder Abend ...

The food was only lukewarm and pretty carelessly prepared. Very expensive for that. No repeat.

Personal sehr hektisch, rennend, hinter der Bar essend, wurden von mehreren Personen bedient. Ambiente würde stimmen, wenn der Kamin in Betrieb wäre. Der Blick auf die Frauenkirche traumhaft. Unsere Bitte ein Taxi zu rufen wurde schnöde abgetan. Essen war gut. Für den Preis erwarte ich mehr Service.

Teilweise innen rohe Hähnchenstreifen im Salat Wein der wahrscheinlich gekippt war, auf beide Reklamationen keinerlei Reaktion oder Entschuldigung seitens der weiblichen Bedienung. Beides wurde wortlos dem Gast entnommen und auf der Rechnung natürlich aufgeführt. Der Salat wurde nicht frisch NEU! zubereitet, sondern die Hähnchenstreifen lediglich nachgebraten. Versuch einen Nachtisch zu bestellen wurde ebenfalls seitens der „Kellnerin“ ignoriert. Für uns ein absolutes NoGo, letztes Jahr alles hervorragend, dieses Jahr ist ein solcher Umgang mit dem Kunden einfach unterirdisch. Die Bedienung hat jedoch eine merkliche Reaktion auf 60 Cent Trinkgeld hinterlassen Sorry bei dem Umgang mit Euren Gästen wird’s mit „Stammgästen“ schwer werden Fazit wir hoffen das nächstes Jahr wieder alles beim Alten ist, sollten wir uns nochmals dafür entscheiden.

Ein super Restaurant für Fleischkenner und Schätzer! Einziger kleiner Makel, nicht nur die Getränke waren kalt. Für die Frauen war es sehr frisch! Bedienung war in dicker Jacke unterwegs aber sehr freundlich!

We came into the restaurant just by chance. Thank God. We have made another reservation for tomorrow evening. Now our first address in Dresden.

When you come in you are greeted warmly. We were then assigned a table. The service person took our order and we didn't have to wait long. We really liked it so far. Small drawback our meat wasn't very hot.

Wary at first after reading reviews about service but found it very good. We tried several steaks and the house burger and salmon over several days and never left a thing. Well cooked and very tasty and well presented and found the waiters and waitresses very affable.

Das Essen ist super lecker, ich habe bis jetzt nirgendwo bessere Steaks gegessen. Das Personal ist super freundlich und berät auch gerne bei Unsicherheiten. Dazu noch das wunderschöne Ambiente und die tolle Musikauswahl. Wenn man in Dresden ist, sollte man unbedingt hier einmal essen gehen!

I've been in Dresden for a long time and used it to visit a restaurant. The service was top and the food was on point. You'll be happy to come back there

Super nice restaurant over two floors with an elevator for strollers or wheelchairs. The view directly onto the Frauenkirche is really great. The atmosphere is very, very nice. The staff is super friendly, accommodating and always there for you no matter what. The food is very tasty, whether it's a burger, steak or salad, it's highly recommended

The soup was outstanding and memorable cauliflower and duck. The service very attentive. We had steak for a main course food piping hot and served with attention and care. Having dined elsewhere in Dresden this was a restaurant I would recommend to anyone.

Essen hervorragend, aber Ewigkeiten auf den Hauptgang gewartet, schade eigentlich. Klasse Lokal, hervorragendes Ambiente, tolle Aussicht auf die Frauenkirche, Essen und Getränke sehr gut, aber über eine Stunde auf den Hauptgang warten, geht mal so gar nicht

We went to a restaurant with friends, attracted by the fact that it was said to be one of the best restaurants in Dresden. After ordering four dishes, only three arrived. Our friend's order wasn't even realized. Only after we pointed it out to the waiter did he realize he had forgotten them. The photo shows a steak that, according to the restaurant, has a cooking point of "medium". You can clearly see that it is a rare steak and not even close to medium rare. We paid a lot and ended up being very disappointed. There is no recommendation from us - don't let the reviews fool you like we did. Additionally, to make things even more fun, our friend also ordered a steak “medium” and got a rare one too. If the restaurant is unable to properly sear steaks, I recommend removing this dish from the menu.

We are currently in Ontario and would have expected better for the price. Chicken breast, herb butter and rosemary triplets. Very bland in taste. Meat not seasoned, potatoes didn't taste like rosemary. Rump steak with sweet potato fries. Steak tastes okay, but could be much better. Here too the pep was missing. Sweet potato fries were good. Our conclusion, unfortunately not recommended. It was worlds better 10 years ago

It's in a nice location, but one iced coffee was lukewarm and the other tasted very bland. The cake was also average at best. However, I can't say anything about the "real" meals

There is little to complain about, only when we sat down it took a long time until the table was clean again, our order was already there. OK complaining at a high level, otherwise it doesn't get any better. Lots of staff, all friendly and accommodating, you can handle the rest. We'd love to come back.

Food is amazing! The restaurant is next to the Frauenkirche. But the service could be better, the waitress are not so friendly.

After a long and interesting day through the diverse city of Dresden, the Canadian Steakhouse is the best place to end the evening with really good food and delicious drinks. The excellent and extremely friendly service completes the overall package! Five out of five stars! We would be happy to come back on our next visit to Dresden!

Sehr netter Service und schnelle Bedienung mit sehr leckerem Essen. Die Tagessuppe, Süßkartoffelsuppe, war sehr köstlich und das kanadische Rauchsalzbrot ist sehr zu empfehlen.

Wir waren zum 4. Mal da und zum 4. Mal hellauf begeistert. Herzlicher, schneller, Service und unbeschreiblich gutes Essen bestätigen uns jedes Mal, gern wieder herzukommen. Die Qualität jeder einzelnen Zutat rechtfertigt für uns auch den Preis, den wir gern bereit sind zu zahlen. Der Service ist jedes Mal wieder freundlich und zuvorkommend. Man fühlt sich einfach wohl. Unser nächster Besuch ist bereits geplant.

Es war wieder ein hervorragender Abend, was das Essen, den Service und das Ambiente betrifft.

Long waiting time. The ice cream consists only of cream. The César salad hardly contains any dressing and the leaves are not chopped into small pieces. The food in general is overpriced (€12 for a few dry lettuce leaves) and the quality leaves a lot to be desired. No recommendation!

We reserved a table at Ontario, which led us to the finer part of the restaurant on the first floor. With a direct view of the side of the Frauenkirche, the view is of course very special. The quality of the food is also special: we ate very good steaks. A fillet steak and a flank steak. There are a variety of sides and sauces to choose from. We only found the price level a bit excessive, after all it's not a star restaurant - a side dish costs around 5 euros per piece (including traps, sauces, vegetables, potatoes,...we chose 3 each, it adds up to something). The staff was very friendly and helped with the choice of food. Overall, a very successful evening.

Mixed feelings. We got the wrong thing, and for the other thing (a cappucino), they just assumed we wanted the big one. It was such a ridiculously big cup, you'd be better off calling it a bowl 🤣 Also pretty expensive, but that's just Dresden prices. Other than that, you've got a great view of the square and the frauenkirche, and you got good cover from the sun.
