[m]eatery bar + restaurant in Dresden

The meat was absolutely fantastic. We chose the T-bone to share. It was served in slices, crispy on the outside and evenly medium-rare on the inside. We've tried several steak restaurants, and I've always said that nothing can compare to The Grand in Berlin. But this restaurant can. We'll be happy to come back when we're in Dresden again.

The food (various meat dishes and side dishes) was really not good; the side dishes were the deciding factor. Service was awful. We were asked several times by various waiters what we would like to eat after we had already ordered. When we asked for the bill, we accidentally received another round of espresso instead. The atmosphere was rather cold and uncomfortable.

Friendly, competent and delicious

We wanted to have dinner at [m]eatery restaurant without a reservation and were greeted warmly without a reservation. We were told they had to prepare a table first and were sent to the bar, which would take about 15 minutes. Even though the bartender asked the restaurant again after 30 and another 40 minutes, they let us sit at the bar. Too bad, so we ended up having our steak somewhere else.

I will order again! Probably the very last restaurant I visited after living in Dresden for six years – and what a great surprise it was! I went there with my child, and to my amazement, they offered a small toy and some coloring materials for kids. That kind of thoughtful service is quite rare in Germany, especially in Saxony. Now, about the food – the steaks were absolutely the best I’ve had in Dresden, no doubt about it. The chefs clearly know what they’re doing, and the quality of the dishes was outstanding. I’ll definitely be coming back and ordering again!

The best beef can be. Plus, top-notch service. You feel welcome from the very first moment. The waiters are friendly, relaxed, and incredibly attentive. I had a burger. The best I've ever eaten. The flavors were balanced, and the patty was cooked to perfection. The prices are absolutely fair. That's what steak should be, and that's what burgers should be. Thank you!

Good Food -excellent Staff- Best Maitre ever

We ordered the delicious bread salad and then the club sandwich from the summer menu. It was the tastiest club sandwich I've ever eaten. Highly recommended!

I have never experienced such poor service at a restaurant. The waiter who greeted us seemed grumpy from the start. There was no smile to welcome us. We have reserved a table for 3, but they had only set up for two. We are seated at the table, ordered water. Sit for 20 minutes and wait for the menu. Have to ask for it ourselves. Ordered the main course and told the grumpy waiter that we would also like to order wine. She replied that she would come back and take the order. She did not come, and we had to get hold of her ourselves after 10 minutes. We have now been at the restaurant for over 30 minutes. When we said we would like to order a wine, she replied grumpily "What kind of wine?!". We get the wine, which is delicious, but the main courses come an hour after we arrived!!!! 2 out of 3 steaks are perfect, but the last one is completely raw, even though it should have been medium/raw. The bearnaise sauce does not taste like bearnaise. They only ask 10 minutes. after we have finished eating, if everything is ok. Normally we are used to being asked 5 minutes after we have received the steaks. There we have to tell that one of the steaks is not ok. We are offered to have it cooked a little more, but by then we have finished eating. So we are instead offered a small shot, which we accept. Due to very slow service, we end up being the last guests in the restaurant, even though we came at 8 pm and only got a main course and dessert. It is 10:30 pm when we finally see a waiter and ask for the bill. We are sorry that we have spent 2500 kr. here. It was not worth the money.

I was given a voucher, and I accepted the invitation and enjoyed an evening at the [m]eatery. As part of the Gewandhaus, the appropriate setting is already provided. In a quiet and stylish atmosphere, however, you can indulge in the joys of food and drink. I chose the 3-course daily special and was, of course, not disappointed. The wine recommendation was also perfect. I also tried one of the many cocktails, including the non-alcoholic version. All in all, a very pleasant evening with excellent all-round service. Thank you very much!

The tomahawk steak had an intense, creamy flavor. I ordered it medium-rare – the overall cooking time was very good, although the edges were a bit tough. The shrimp were okay, but I personally prefer the cut side to be grilled as well, to achieve a crispy exterior and tender interior. The tartare was excellently seasoned – I really liked it. I particularly recommend the salmon tartare, which is beautifully fatty and flavorful. The beef tartare unfortunately had a few stringy bits. As for the side dishes, the seasonal risotto was a bit too creamy for my taste. The corn was delicious – milky in flavor and wonderfully juicy and plump. The service was very warm, friendly, and professional – I give it a full five stars!

Unfortunately, the menu here doesn't match the restaurant. Never again for me! The service is very patchy, and the quality of the food isn't even worth 50% of the asking price!

First-class selection and above all top quality for lovers of good beef

Very good food with outstanding service from Jan. First of all: the best part of the evening was the service from Jan. He made our stay at the Meatery Bar a very special evening, not only with his perfect wine recommendation, but also with his unobtrusive yet always present and attentive manner. About the food: The trio of tartar with salmon, tuna, and veal was excellent, the different marinades very clearly differentiated and their composition a special experience. The Iberico pork was cooked to point with a great crust and very good flavor, while the ribeye from Lower Saxony was also very flavorful, tender, and juicy. The only criticism of the evening was the cooking quality; instead of the ordered "rare," it came medium. However, this didn't detract from the flavor in any way, and therefore no deduction from the special rating. Jan's wine selection (a Spanish 2022 Monastrell and an Italian Primitivo) paired perfectly with the dishes, as did the vegetable Pont au Feu and the potato gratin in a Staub ramekin. We have very fond memories of this evening and would gladly return.

Certainly not for everyday dining, but very stylish for special occasions. Very friendly service and perfect steaks. I've never understood the dark green tiles on the walls... Whatever, it doesn't change the taste of the steaks 🤤

Three stars for the good service from the waiter and also for the truly excellent food quality. Two stars less for a sadly absolutely terrible chef. My first steak was well-done instead of the rare-English (!!) I ordered. The second, ordered rare this time, was medium. Only the appetizer was excellent. I'll go to Meatery again, but next time in Hamburg or Stuttgart...

Not everyday but very pleasantly designed. Very friendly service, discreet but with a personal touch. Good advice if you have any questions. The food was a pleasure - the meat anyway, but the tartare deserves special mention. Only the potato gratin lacked a bit of spice; I would describe it as "more boring than expected".

It was a very nice evening. The food was delicious and the staff was just what you'd expect as a guest. Many restaurants could learn a thing or two from them. We felt very comfortable and would gladly come back. We can recommend it to everyone.

On March 7th, 2025, 6:30 p.m., the time had finally come! Top cuisine combined with a whiskey tasting. Virtuosos of the kitchen and connoisseurs of fine distillates created and presented highlights of good taste. This showed once again that when two greats come together, something even greater can emerge! The restaurant “Meatery” located in the Dresden Gewandhaus and the shop “Whisky & Genuss Dresden” created a very special evening for us with a 4-course menu using corresponding whiskeys and an accompanying whiskey tasting. For the guest and connoisseur, the evening was a fireworks display of enjoyment. We would like to thank everyone involved once again for this successful evening with a “chapeau”! Matze

Solid and nice atmosphere. However, both service and cuisine can still be improved. The service seemed attentive, but not too friendly. The tuna tartare in the starter was, in my opinion, over-seasoned. The steak in the main course was good, but the knife should match it - either a sharper knife or softer meat. The side dishes were good.

Cool place for friends of quality meat The [m]eatery restaurants are in Hamburg, Stuttgart and Dresden. The concept is the same everywhere. Under the motto meet and eat, premium dry aged beef from all over the world is offered in different cuts in cool restaurant bars. Meat and steak lovers will get their money's worth in the deliberately dark restaurants (the Hamburg branch seems extremely dark to me) - fish dishes are also offered as an alternative. The menu is structured according to the modular principle: Side dishes and sauces can be combined with the grilled dishes and are charged additionally. I think the tartar offering is brilliant. The guest can choose between beef, veal, tuna and salmon tartare. There is also a vegetarian version. The portion sizes are divided into “bricks” of 80g each. That's clever - types and quantities can be combined as desired and ordered as a starter, intermediate course or main course. Needless to say, the selected cuts of meat are served grilled to perfection as requested. A good recommendation for meat lovers. The high prices correspond to the quality and location of the restaurant.

Service was very bad . The food took along time . And steak wad dry

The two of us spontaneously wanted a table on Friday evening and were immediately sent away saying everything was reserved today, even though half the restaurant was still empty at 7:30 p.m. and many of the tables were not set. Afterwards we called briefly and were told we were welcome to come over, there was of course something still available… When we were accepted, unfortunately we were only given a table in the courtyard, without a real chair, just a couch seat... so moderately comfortable and nice. The food was delicious as always but you have to be able to afford the screening and rejection of guests. Other guests arrived later and were given a nice seat directly in the restaurant. They were of course much older and obviously corresponded to the preferred clientele. Conclusion: Good food, mediocre service and, as a young couple who aren't rigged up, it's not really possible to get a nice seat at all. Let's see if we come back after several disappointing visits.

Very diverse food, drink and wine menu of great quality.

We were completely impressed by the meatery Dresden. The service was exceptional - the team was attentive, friendly and always present without being intrusive. This is exactly how you imagine perfect service! The meal was a pleasure from the first to the last course. The starters were creatively prepared and tasted a highlight. We were particularly impressed by the quality of the meat, and the side dishes and desserts also tasted excellent and were beautifully presented. A small point of criticism concerns the degree of doneness of the meat: 'Well done' was unfortunately not completely cooked through, and 'Medium Rare' was cooked a little too far. However, this is complaining at a high level, as the taste and quality of the meat were absolutely convincing. We would like to thank you for the great evening and are already looking forward to your next visit – we will definitely be back!

Nice restaurant with an upscale atmosphere. We were the only guests on New Year's Eve afternoon. We found the lunch menu thinned out. Seating outside. Rather launchy, almost too deep to eat properly.

Nettes Ambiente, das Essen hat unsere Erwartungen nicht erfüllt. Ich habe schon weitaus bessere Steaks gegessen. Pommes und Salat waren gut, aber für so ein Haus hätten wir mehr erwartet.

Se le dio a los servidores nuestra carne, y cuando lo devolvieron mi e estaba rojo (i Can Eat that) pero mi freind todavía tenía un raro ripeye casi no consigue pommes y salsa también escasea, om sorry pero 174 para 2 personas para esta experiencia es malo vamos a ir en un restaurante de estrella Micheling tritón tiempo por 50 euros más.

El restaurante ofrece filetes de diferentes regiones. La calidad es buena. También se recomienda la carta de vinos. Encontramos el servicio irritante. Se ofreció una mesa en el bar, aunque no todas las mesas del restaurante estaban establecidas. Este no es un buen servicio.

Es war ein wundervoller Abend. Das Essen war einfach umwerfend. Der Service überaus freundlich. Wir hatten ein Bone-in Rib-Eye Steak. Auf den Punkt gebraten. Insgesamt Phantastisch

visually great, but the hotel restaurant is something you don't immediately recognize unless you're local, Gewandhaus Dresden, Autograph Collection of the Marriott chain, that explains the lavish prices, food is averagely ok, wine selection is very limited, good cocktails come from the hotel bar, service is quick and nice - friendly and attentive, going to the toilet in the basement of the hotel offers an opportunity to get to know the luxury house (it's better to remember the way back very well...), feel-good factor thanks to the great lighting and color design 8 out of 10.

It was super nice. Everyone very attentive. Food of the highest quality. So the price is a little higher. But you know things like that beforehand.

We were guests last night. Food was good, a nice atmosphere. Unfortunately we were treated very superficially by our waiter. It should probably appear reserved and well-educated. We felt very uncomfortable. This is not how we imagine a nice evening. At least it was sufficiently decorated with ballpoint pens. 🤔😂

Let's start from the chairs. The chairs, almost-vintage-armchairs in green leatherette, are particularly uncomfortable, and too low for the tables. The menu is varied enough (as well as all the meat there's fish and some vegetarian items) but confusing, for example a grilled tuna and rocket salad is listed with the burgers. The price is expensive and... the food is not very good. My tuna tartare with Asian dressing was drenched in very salty soy sauce that killed all other flavours, and there was grit in my leaf spinach, which was also floating in an inch of water. The waitress was very apologetic, but that's hardly enough (she was happy to tell me the spinach had been taken off my bill, which was the least they could do since I sent it back, and in fairness she did ask me if she could offer me a brownie or a sorbet, which I declined). Anyway, not impressed - maybe the meat is more carefully prepared.

Apparently they didn't want us in sweaters and jeans. They tried to brush us off by saying that all tables were reserved and that we should have called half an hour in advance when the restaurant opened. What was particularly striking was that only half the restaurant was set and at least 4 set tables were empty. The gentleman then explained to us quite excitedly that the guests would all be coming in 10 minutes. It was unfortunate that we had to wait for another person and the restaurant didn't fill up in the next 20 minutes. I think it would be nice if there was a reference to a dress code and the staff should rethink how they deal with customers of all kinds. Especially in today's times, clothing is no indication of whether you are a wealthy customer or not. Since I have been a guest a few times, I would like to say in the interests of honesty that the atmosphere is very nice and the kitchen also knows how to prepare meat.

My husband and I had a wonderful evening at m[eatery]. Very elegant ambience, great service and super tasty, special food. As a starter there was vegetarian tartare with avocado - very tasty and something different, as well as burrata on grilled vegetables. For the main course, German sirloin in the New York cut with beans, the best béchamel I have ever tasted, crispy fries alumettes and I also had a wild mushroom risotto. For dessert there was freshly baked soufflé and a cream cheese specialty. All in all, top-class quality that you're happy to pay for. We really enjoyed the evening and would love to come back.

With reference to a table reservation, we were brushed off right at the entrance. No alternative offer, no basis for negotiation! Really shameful in this category!

Wir haben hier sehr gutes Abendessen gehabt. Die Qualität der Speisen, Vorspeisen und Hauptgerichte (Fleisch und Fisch) war durchgehend von sehr guter Qualität. Der Service wird sicherlich noch vervollkommnet, wenn das (neue) Personal eingespielt ist. So konnten Verständigungsprobleme schnell gelöst werden. Insgesamt ein sehr gelungener Abend in einem angenehmen und nicht lauten Ambiente. Genau das was wir gesucht haben,

If you like good food, this is the place for you. It's also very comfortable and quiet to sit here. But the service still needs work. It's annoying when three waiters or waitresses come to the table and ask the same thing, but in return you have to fight to be allowed to order the drinks. Everything should work in this price range. But the food was really great.

Private Reise mit geschäftlichen Terminen Sehr schönes Haus, sehr gutes Bett und überaus freundliche Mitarbeiter in allen Bereichen. Nur die Bäder sind nicht mehr zeitgemäß….Ein-/ Ausstieg in die riesige Wanne zum Duschen war beschwerlich. Zumindest in den hochpreisigen Zimmern sollte eine Lösung gefunden werden.

Wer gerne Fleischgerichte zu sich nimmt, der ist hier am richtigen Platz. Das Preisniveau ist hoch, aber aus meiner Sicht nicht unangemessen hoch.

Wir waren nun schon zum zweiten Mal in der meatery und sind noch immer hellauf begeistert! Der Service ist erstklassig und die Angestellten sehr aufmerksam. Das Essen ist einfach nur eine Gaumenfreude. Auch das Ambiente ist einfach toll! Wir kommen sehr gern wieder.

Ich hatte die Empfehlung des Tages (kleine Vorspeise, Hauptgang und Dessert), hat mir ausgezeichnet geschmeckt. Alles in allen ein gelungenes Abendessen in angenehmer Atmosphäre mit sehr aufmerksamen Personal. Ich komme gern wieder.

Waren zum Abendessen hier. Kind hat etwas zum malen bekommen, aber es gab keinen Hinweis darauf, dass die Kindergerichte auf dem Malblatt stehen. Haben daher zwei Beilagen für das Kind gewählt. Als es uns auffiel hatte die Servicekraft grad die Bestellung ins System eingegeben mit dem Hinweis: oh, tut mir leid. Jetzt habe ich grad die Bestellung aufgegeben. Konnte man wohl nicht stornieren. Und trotz der Nachfrage, ob unser Kind die Beilagen zu unserer Vorspeise bekommen soll, wurden sie leider komplett von der Küche vergessen… Burger war kalt. 3-Gang-Menü (Seleketion des Küchenchefs) hat sehr gut geschmeckt. Hauptgang aber etwas spärlich mit einem Mini Streifen Fleisch. Insgesamt eine eher mittelmäßige Erfahrung bei den gehobenen Preisen. Kenne ich von Meatery (zb Stuttgart) eher anders.

Wir waren hier, um einen runden Geburtstag gebührend zu feiern! Das Team war sehr aufmerksam, freundlich und hat uns eine tolle Zeit beschert! Vielen Dank für den super Service und das wirklich gelungene Essen!

Das Essen ist grandios. Das Fleisch auf den Punkt. Ein Geheimtipp ist das Tatar mit seinen verschiedenen Würzmischungen. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich, zuvorkommend und hilfsbereit. Die exclusive Weinkarte rundet das ganze ab. Wir kommen definitiv wieder und es ist eine Empfehlung für jeden Steakliebhaber.

Essen: Rib Eye Steak Medium Rare. Volles Aroma und ein unglaublich hervorragender Geschmack. Als Beilage hatte ich Pommes. Die Pommes waren selbstgemacht, toller Geschmack und gut gesalzen. Service: Nett und aufmerksam Ambiente: Sehr angenehm eingerichtet. Zum verweilen sehr geeignet. Das Highlight war das Steak.

Phänomenal! Immer wieder gerne. Für mich die erste Anlaufstelle in Dresden, wenn es darum geht, ein gutes Steak zu essen. Mein all time favorite ist jedoch der Thunfisch. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich, zuvorkommend, aber dennoch positiv zurückhaltend. Vielen Dank an das Team.

Vielen Dank ! Ohne Reservierung bekamen wir einen schönen Tisch, obwohl es ziemlich voll war. Perfektes Wein ( Meursault 2020), hervorragendes Essen, sehr aufmerksames und nettes Personal .

Ich bin wirklich begeistert! Der Service war sehr kompetent, aufmerksam und super freundlich! Das Essen war sehr schön angerichtet, total frisch und super lecker! Mein Highlight war tatsächlich das Dessert. Schokobrownie mit Thymianeis. Der dazu empfohlene Rotwein passte perfekt! Ein dickes Lob an den Sommelier. Wenn ich etwas anmerken würde, dann würde ich eine Bierkarte ergänzen ;-)

Vi bestilte to ribeyes - en fra Sydamerika og en fra Amerika. Begge steaks var stegt som bestilt (til medium). Kødet fra Sydamerika havde smag af dry-age, selvom det ikke burde være det, så det gjorde det uspiseligt for mig. Bøffen fra Amerika smagte virkelig godt, men havde dog stadig lidt brusk, som ikke kunne spises. Vi bestilte en ekstra tilbehør hver, hvilket var godt, for ellers var vi nok ikke blevet helt mætte. Bestilte pommesfritter, pommes allumettes, risotto og kartoffelmos med skalotteløg til deling. Pommes allumettes var udmærkede, men pommesfritterne havde en stærk smag af olie, som ikke klædte dem. Kartoffelmosen smagte fint, men var ikke noget ud over det sædvanlige. Min mand kunne godt lide risottoen. Bestilte kryddersmør og Cafe de Paris butter. Brød mig ikke om Cafe de Paris-smøret, som havde en stærk og krydret smag (smagte lidt af chips med barbecue-smag) og fandt krydersmøret overdøvede smagen af kødet. Kvaliteten af kødet virkede svingende mellem 1 og 5 stjerner, mens tilbehøret svingede mellem 1 og 3. Prisen er lidt i den høje ende for hele oplevelsen - på trods af at vi ikke bestilte alkohol. Tjenerne forsøgte at pushe en del mersalg ind, hvilket lidt irriterende, men ellers var betjeningen opmærksom og hjælpsom.

Wer richtig gut und vor allem schön essen gehen möchte, ist hier absolut richtig. Wir sind sehr herzlich begrüßt worden und hatten einen wunderschönen Tisch. Der Service macht einen exzellenten Job! Die Karte wurde sehr gut erklärt und wir haben uns für das 3 Gang Menu entschieden. Das war die absolut richtige Wahl. Vorweg eine herrliche Gazpacho aus Melone, Erdbeere und Paprika. Absolut stimmig abgeschmeckt. Danach ein Rinderfilet mit einem wunderbar cremigen Risotto mit Pfifferlingen. Ein Traum! Aus krönenden Abschluss gab es ein fruchtiges Mango Sorbet auf einem Cheesecake mit frischen Früchten. Jeder Gang war ein Erlebnis. Die Einrichtung ist sehr geschmackvoll und die dezente Musik im Hintergrund macht die ganze Sache rund. Als Gäste aus Berlin haben wir hier in Dresden eine tolle Location kennengelernt, die wir jedem nur aus vollem Herzen empfehlen können. Vielen Dank für einen zauberhaften Abend an das ganze Team. Solid food with some creative twists.

Tolles Ambiente, perfektes Essen, nette und professionelle Bedienung. Was will man mehr? 😀 Ich komme bestimmt nochmal wieder. Es gibt noch einiges zu probieren.

Ho mangiato qui durante un viaggio. Ambiente molto spazioso anche se un po' cupo. Carne molto buona, ma anche il dessert a base di formaggio e frutti di bosco era notevole. Prezzi alti (molto alti per i vini).

Die allerbesten Steaks. Und das Surf and Turf ist ein Genuss.

Ein sehr interessanter Moderner Approach zu einem klassischen Steakhouse. Die verschiedenen Tartar Variationen sind nur zu empfehlen!

Speisen waren OK, aber mit erheblichen Wartezeiten verbunden. Preis-Leistung passt nicht.

Dieses Restaurant ist für uns das Highlight Dresden‘s… nicht nur für Liebhaber eines guten Steaks, sondern auch für Jene die einen sehr guten Service zu schätzen wissen. (M)eatery like! Service gut. Essen wie immer fantastisch! Jedes klagen wäre auf hohem Niveau! Mein Ranking: Stuttgart- unanfechtbar- auch aus Nostalgiegründen Dresden- tolles Personal, zuvorkommend und auch wenn stressig ein Auge für den Gast Hamburg:( länger her dahr meine Wertung, sehr subjektiv!!!!!!!!!!!) Tolles Ambiente, zuvorkommend, hätte ein wenig besser sein können, essen war top, Sonderwünsche , eher kritisch...unterm Strich, immer noch klagen auf hohem Niveau!!!

Świetny tatar i polędwica. Bardzo miła i proaktywna obsługa. Ładna lokalizacja.

Top. Das Steak war perfekt, Beilagen super. Tartar ebenfalls klasse, Service zuvorkommend, kompetent und freundlich. Preise auf dem Niveau gerechtfertigt bzw. finde ich die Preise für das Tartar sogar eher günstig. 2 Bricks (22€) reichen für 2 Personen vollkommen aus und somit 11€/Person für die Vorspeise meines Erachtens sogar preiswert. Ich hatte das 300g Filet und es war ein Gaumenschmaus. Absolute Empfehlung!

Wir waren zum dritten Mal im Meatery Dresden (und 1x im Meatery in Hamburg) und sind immer wieder begeistert. Essen, Service, Kinderfreundlichkeit, Ambiente - alles top. Es war ein toller Abend zur Einstimmung auf die Weihnachtszeit. Wir danken dem aufmerksamen Mitarbeitern und Mitarbeiterinnen und kommen sehr gern wieder.

Steaks stehen natürlich im Vordergrund, mit Recht. Das Tartar war einen Tick zu stark gewürzt (Lachs und Thunfisch), der Service freundlich und aufmerksam, fast schon ein wenig zu schnell für einen genussvollen, ruhigen Abend.

Hervorragendes Essen, kompetente und freundliche Bedienung, geschmackvolle Einrichtung - immer wieder gerne!

Sehr gute Qualität der Speisen. Tolle Karte und aufmerksames Personal.
