Estancia Steakhouse Striesen in Dresden

Update January 6, 2026: Huge disappointment today!!! We travel over 40km every time. And today we found the doors locked!!!! Both Google and the website say it's open! For that, I'm only giving it 1 star today. I'm not changing my overall rating, as we've always been satisfied (we eat there regularly 3-4 times a year and are always very happy), but today we were extremely disappointed!!!! This could be done much better, and a Google listing can be quickly edited if it's closed! What a shame. Update November 6, 2023 We are still very satisfied. My filet steak, this time 400g and ordered medium-rare, was cooked to perfection. The other two filet steaks were also perfect, ordered medium. The service was friendly as always. We will gladly come again! The 50-cent disinfection fee per guest is simply outrageous!! We've been eating here for a very long time and have always been very satisfied. Our last visit on June 3rd was also excellent. However, the bill included a 50-cent disinfection fee per guest. As I mentioned, I find this outrageous! The bottle of disinfectant for the tables costs €10 and lasts forever. The hand sanitizer is also perfectly adequate. To pass this on to the guests at 50 cents per person feels like blatant exploitation! We will certainly come back, as we have always been satisfied. But this business practice leaves a bad taste in our mouths. Does the owner really need to resort to this?

Google Maps was not up-to-date: We stood in front of a locked door, even though according to Google Maps the restaurant was open.

Delicious food, great service, and a wonderful atmosphere. What more could you want?

The food, especially the steaks, was really high quality, delicious, and fresh, and the price was justified. The staff was very friendly and polite. Unfortunately, they closed at 10 pm, and this was made quite clear. This meant that lingering and enjoying a cocktail or long drink wasn't possible (we had reserved a table for 8 pm). The location/accessibility is quite good, however, parking in the immediate vicinity isn't particularly easy.

The service was among the friendliest and best we have ever had (at least the first waiter at our large table).

The tables are a bit small; if you order a menu and extras, it gets cramped.

Food was great, but the service was absolutely terrible! When I mentioned a birthday, they just said, "Happy birthday to you!" On top of that, there was a dog sitting at the next table being fed with a fork! Dogs are fine, but they should be under the table! And without even asking, they removed my plate! Not a single smile, nothing!

Estancia Klotzsche has far surpassed Estancia Strießen (visiting both within a week certainly makes this assessment realistic). The service was uninspired, the meat was unkempt, and the baked potato looked as if it had come straight from the microwave. No one even asked if the meat was cooked to the correct doneness. The price/performance ratio is completely unacceptable! This will be our last visit, as this was the second time we've had such a bad experience. Three people and €200 – we should have left satisfied. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case!

Great restaurant. Delicious food, but: I had reserved online and received no call or email. I thought that was normal. Then at the entrance, they told me I should have called about the reservation. Well, we were lucky and managed to snag two tables. The tip was quite high for a bill of €108. That's not how you want to be greeted. Otherwise, it was really great. Oh, and the server was having problems.

This is something you shouldn't miss if you're in Dresden.

Not simple...but sophisticated and not cheap...but just right for us.

We had lunch here, and everything was delicious. The menu offered a wide selection. The service was very friendly. We deducted one star for a few minor things that weren't quite right. We waited quite a long time for our food; one burger was missing the bacon that we ordered with it. Unfortunately, it was listed on the bill. One dish was missing a filling side dish, which we would have had to order separately. It would have been great if the waiter had pointed this out. But otherwise, everything was excellent.

Hungry from a short move, we wanted to go to Estancia Striesen nearby with three people without ordering. Unfortunately, they were completely booked, but they found a solution for us at two tables in the entrance area. This way, we were able to witness the very attentive customer service, both in person and on the phone (interesting!). Everything else, from the service to the food, was simply top-notch. We had burgers and the filet skewer – simply fantastic. Thanks to Mr. Zuber and his team. Thank you – we'll be back!

The Estancia in Striesen is my first choice when I want to eat truly good meat. Always cooked to perfection. The quality is consistently high – and yes, that comes at a price, of course, but it's absolutely justified. In addition to the classic dishes, there are also seasonal specials and a regular lunch menu for those on a tighter budget. The interior was recently modernized, and the "freshen up" approach suits the restaurant extremely well. A definite recommendation!

We stopped in spontaneously today after the trade fair and just barely managed to get a seat; everything else was reserved, which speaks for itself. We were served very nicely and quickly despite the full house. Drinks came quickly, and we didn't have to wait long for the food either. The Argentinian rump steak was a dream, and the burger was also incredibly delicious. (By the way, there was also a good selection of different dishes on the menu for vegetarians, which I think is quite good and tolerant, since in vegan or vegetarian restaurants, for example, there are no alternatives for meat eaters 🤷‍♂️)

A very nice restaurant with a lackluster service. The food was delicious, but unfortunately, the waitress disappeared after clearing the plates. Unfortunately, there were no drinks or dessert. What a shame!

A fantastic piece of fillet. Perfectly prepared. The draft beer was at the perfect temperature, and the dessert was a dream. Even the espresso was excellent. It's rare to see such pleasant service these days. We'll be happy to come back. Thank you very much.

We were at Estancia in Striesen yesterday and wanted to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary there. I had made a reservation by phone and mentioned that we wanted to celebrate this special day there. I was told, "That's great, we'll decorate your table especially beautifully." We were both really looking forward to the evening, dressed up especially, and I was really excited about our table. But when we arrived, we said our names and were assigned our table, but there was no beautifully decorated table. No way! I was very disappointed 😞 We had a good meal and spent a total of €100 for two people, which I think is quite expensive and something you can't often afford. When we wanted to pay, we said we had a voucher we'd like to redeem. My husband had received it as a gift for his 60th birthday. It was only a printed copy, as the giver had bought it very shortly via email but had paid properly as required. He then printed the voucher himself at home. Restaurant cards usually serve as vouchers, but our voucher also had a number on it, and that number must have been registered. The waitress apparently took this printout to the manager, Steffen Zuber. He came to our table and asked if the voucher was from us and if we should bring one along. When my husband came back, I asked him what was going on. He said they didn't believe the voucher was genuine. All I can say is, I was so annoyed and still am! We were treated like fraudsters, criminals. It was just so incredibly embarrassing, and for me, the evening was ruined and the mood was ruined. We told them the name of the person who had given us the voucher, and they actually contacted the person via WhatsApp and asked if it was true. Honestly, that's just not acceptable. It was so embarrassing and uncomfortable. We were simply ignored for a long time, not even looked at. We sat there, stunned, and no one spoke to us. My husband even called the person who had given us the voucher late in the evening to clarify everything, but even then, no one came to us to perhaps apologize and clarify the situation. I just walked out, completely angry and upset. This treatment of us is completely unacceptable! I will definitely not visit this restaurant again and will not recommend it to anyone!

A great restaurant, super friendly and fast service. And the steak was excellent.

Mixed. We were there recently. The waiters were friendly, the ambiance was the same, stylish, unchanged for years... However, I missed something this time: the typical style, the atmosphere was somehow different (years ago, we were explained the differences in steak using the "real thing" model). It's basically (just) a regular restaurant, even judging by the menu. The prices for "sides" like fries are very steep! Entrecote - yes, also just average in terms of presentation, you can get it elsewhere, and possibly even better. What a shame.

Four of us were guests for a birthday on Saturday evening, August 9, 2025, and had decided to visit this restaurant based on the good reviews. Unfortunately, our expectations were not met. The salad that came with the steaks we ordered was forgotten. Since there was no server, I went into the restaurant to inquire. After some time, the salad was brought. The 0.75-liter bottle of water was placed unopened in front of me on the table along with a glass. Of course, as a guest, I'm able to pour myself a glass!! But is that normal at this price level? The two glasses of water we ordered later arrived after a considerable wait. The spare ribs were, contrary to expectations, relatively tough and didn't fall off the bone. The steaks, on the other hand, were excellent. When dessert was served, we were informed that one of the ice cream flavors we ordered was out of stock. That can happen, but you could ask for an alternative before serving so that all guests could eat at the same time. In summary, we didn't go home particularly satisfied. It was an evening you have to forget. There are alternatives.

We visited this restaurant today and were absolutely thrilled! The steak main course and the drinks were simply outstanding – perfectly prepared, juicy, and full of flavor. We would especially like to highlight the attentive service of our waiter, Andrej, who took such good care of our little guest (3 years old). He provided colored pencils and paper for drawing – a thoughtful touch that delighted our son. The birthday boy even received an ice cream as a gift – a lovely and personal gesture! Both the food and the service were of the highest standard. We will definitely be back and recommend the restaurant.

Our steaks were excellent and cooked to perfection. My 400g ribeye was wonderfully seasoned. The vegetables were also impressive, although we found the steakhouse fries a bit too ordinary. The atmosphere is pleasant, and our waitress was super friendly. Thank you very much for the delicious evening.

We had a truly delicious meal. The staff was very attentive but not intrusive. The food was incredibly delicious, and we would love to come back.

We went to this restaurant situated in the hotel grounds hoping for a good meal in pleasant surroundings. Our experience fell far short of this. Having booked our table for 7:30 we ordered a bruschetta starter to share and mains of chicken gyro and Beefsteak vom Kalb. The restaurant was half full. 45 minutes later the server noticed that we had no food. She did not engage with us about the delay. Our mains then arrived 15 mins later but no starter. We told the server who had taken the original order that this had not arrived and we no longer wanted it. There was no apology either for the lengthy delay or the missing starter. The bruschetta appeared about 5 mins later and was intercepted and sent back by our server. The chicken dish comprised of 4 small pieces of pita bread, tzatziki, probably half a full chicken breast. The crowning glory was the salad- a dozen slices of cucumber and half a beef tomato sliced. The meat dish resembled a beef burger. We were so irritated at this point we just ate, paid and left. At no point was there any acknowledgement of the delay or missing dishes. There must be far better options in Dresden than this!

Nice ambiance, although a bit noisy for outdoor seating, as the restaurant is located right next to a busy intersection. Five people at our table ordered steaks. Although they all arrived at the same time, some were cold. Only steaks in the €50+ range seem to be served on a hot plate. The taste was okay, but there are better options. For the higher price, you definitely expect more. The unfriendly service was particularly noteworthy, and they also reacted disrespectfully to our request for improvements to the diaper changing area, which is disastrous for this price range.

Service and ambiance were top-notch. Unfortunately, two of the steaks in our group of four were not cooked to order (e.g., well done instead of medium). Considering the price, that's a real shame. However, everything was perfect for the other two.

We went out to eat today around 6:00 PM and had a starter, main course, and dessert, which was fresh and extremely well prepared. We really enjoyed the food. The menu had a very good selection. The service was very friendly and attentive, simply fantastic. I highly recommend this restaurant! Everything was prepared hot, quickly, freshly, and cleanly. We'll be back, more than impressed!

In a central corner of Dresden, teeming with foreign lunch options, I very much welcome the fact that a variety of fresh, monthly-changing German and local dishes are offered at a reasonable price. I took a closer look today. I have to say, everything was just right! The lunch dishes offered here are a perfect replacement for the doner kebab plate around the corner for the same price. If it's too loud outside for you, you can also head inside the tastefully decorated interior. This steakhouse, which has been in business for many years, is also well-known for its excellent quality of perfectly grilled Argentinian steaks! Great!

The restaurant was very nice. The weather was nice, so we sat outside. I didn't see the interior. The food was very good. There were four of us, and we all had steak. It was very good and cooked to order. The service was also very good. We didn't have to wait, and someone always came by if we needed anything. The location isn't very central in Dresden. The prices were a bit high, but reasonable for the selection and quality of the area. I can recommend it.

I am a big beef guy and I needed a ribeye. I found this place and was not disappointed. Great ribeye, and service. And a big shout out to Tom for taking care of us.

We visited the Estancia Steakhouse Striesen restaurant and were very satisfied. The atmosphere was pleasant and inviting. The meat was simply outstanding – very tasty, juicy, and perfectly prepared. My only minor criticism: The price for the shrimp seemed a bit excessive to me. But that didn't spoil the overall experience. Overall, everything was great! Thank you for the lovely evening, we'd love to come back.

We had reserved a table for 2 people, but it wasn't necessary. The weather was great for the beer garden. Our service (Mr. Thomas 😉) was super nice and very friendly. All thumbs up for that. For dinner there was a wonderful, tender, juicy fillet steak. It's been a long time since I've eaten such good meat. The other side dishes we selected were also incredibly tasty. A meal to enjoy all around. To top it all off, the birthday child received a scoop of ice cream of their choice on the house. In short, we would love to come back 👍

The service, location but above all the food are absolutely amazing. We would give it 12/10. A super tender medium fillet steak and a medium rare rump steak with fantastic side dishes and a pepper sauce more than convinced us! We will come back, a big thank you to the service staff and the masters of the kitchen!

I have to revise my review from six years ago with “5 stars” and “Best steakhouse in town…”. Unfortunately, you only get cold plates, often cold steaks or steaks that get cold very quickly. You even receive a small compensation for this, but the facts of the case as such do not change. Too bad! As regular customers, we will first look elsewhere in the city.

In the end our plates were empty. This and nothing else happened on our second visit to this great steakhouse. The meat is of great quality, the side dishes were delicious and at the end the chocolate soufflet was a must, we weren't disappointed here either. Huge praise also to the service staff, you are doing a great job. Very attentive, friendly and quick. Conclusion: I have never eaten such good meat in such a nice atmosphere.

Unfortunately very dissatisfied. You are ignored by the waitress. (after ordering the food) We were only served again after we asked. The answer was that there were not enough staff as an excuse. What was going on at that point was a joke. There were 7 tables occupied with 15 guests. One person does this alone. There were at least 2 waiters present. At the table opposite we asked twice whether everything was OK. Absolutely not for us. Unfortunately, when we ordered, the product we wanted wasn't there. Argentine fillet 400 grams medium was ordered. It arrived medium rare and unfortunately one stone was far too cold. Argentine RipEye Steak 250 grams was also ordered. Unfortunately, this was full of stringy and had absolutely no taste. After I complained, they came over and asked if everything was okay. Unfortunately there was no vanilla ice cream with the desert. But the alternative was fine. Sorry, but we'll look at another steakhouse in the future. This is not how you imagine a birthday meal to be.

We were in the restaurant a few days ago and wanted to end the year comfortably with friends with good food and drinks. It felt like only half of the food and drinks were in stock, the rest was sold out. The employees seemed overwhelmed or not focused even though the restaurant was not fully utilized. The grill levels were only reached on the second attempt, and unfortunately other dishes arrived at our table cold. Requests for drinks in between were accepted but not implemented. The dessert was the crowning glory of the evening -> cheesecake, as we know it from Netto, Lidl or Kaufland, ready in a glass and served that way. We were enthusiastic regular customers of the Beef Club (unfortunately closed permanently) and now wanted to give the Estancia (same operator) the chance to see us more often... it's a shame, it's really disappointing

Yesterday we were at the Estancia again for a long time and were more than disappointed. Despite pre-ordering, there was no non-alcoholic wine; drinks that were ordered immediately were brought in glasses of different sizes. The food was cold and not prepared at the appropriate grill level as requested. The team seemed to be completely overwhelmed and not attuned. They tried to counteract the goings-on, but were by no means successful. All we can say is that it was the last time we were here. Thank you

With an average rating of 4.5 stars, our expectations were high - but these were brutally undercut. The beef fillets were ordered medium rare and arrived completely raw. After the waiter was informed, a hot stone slab followed, which had little effect and so the fillets ended up on the grill in the kitchen again. No apology from the restaurant. Poor performance. When leaving the store, I went to the toilet again and left immediately because it was completely filthy. Another visit will not take place again. No recommendation. Absolute disappointment.

Today we felt like something different and stopped at the steakhouse. I would say the value for money was intense but endlessly delicious. Since it's asparagus season, it's definitely worth testing out the asparagus menu. We were very satisfied and would like to come back.

A fantastic steak house if you are in Dresden. They have a wide variety of main courses, not just steak. Prices reasonable for a steak house. Husband said that was a fantastic steak, his steak came from Ireland. He is from Texas and knows his steak. The baked potato was humungous! It was so good qe are going back tomorrow for the prime rib! Thank you for the terrific meal!❤

I was surprised by the quality of the meat.

When they say that German kitchen doesn’t exists it’s true. Good meat and good service was totally dropped down by the bad preparation of food and long time waiting. 50 minutes of waiting and in the end we had to give back our steak, steak fries were bad. 🥩. Deserts were so so . Nothing special. If you want something good don’t go there . Regular restaurant.

The ambience is nice, the meat was grilled really well, only the leaf spinach was nothing (somehow almost cooked to death and not enough leaf structure). All other food was good. The service was a little busy but very nice.

If you want a nice steak or fillet, you've come to the right place. I've had the pleasure of eating here several times and have never been disappointed. Ingredients that are high quality for me are prepared perfectly. 👍🏻Of course all of this has its price. Everything is in the upper price segment. Whether a visit with children is worth it depends on your wallet.😉 The staff was always nice, polite and committed. Conclusion: absolutely recommended

One of the best steakhouses in Dresden. Meat and service are good, prices are appropriate for the service. The only catch is the limited parking spaces, which can only be found on the side streets in the area if you're lucky. In summer you can sit outside, which is even more pleasant than this time of year. Otherwise, always happy.

Expensive but worth it is what you think when you enjoy it and hopefully it is. Price increases from 39 euros to 45 euros and the dish has become a little less good in terms of side dishes and grilling accuracy, which is everything when it comes to a steak.
